Come-N-Get It in other cities:
Great ambiance with the photos, sayings and Christmas trees. The service was friendly and good with good prices. We ordered Country Fried Steaks or Fried Chicken. The food was all hot when served which is hard to get in most restaurants. The Country Fried Steaks were delicious and the Collard Greens were outstanding! The Fried Chicken unfortunately, was dry and extremely salty. The green beans and pinto beans were mediocre. The folks with the chicken said three stars while the others said five stars. Hence the four star rating. The take away is to be wise in what you order.
This was the first time I had eaten at this restaurant, and IT IS FABULOUS..... the country fried steak was the best ever, you could cut it with a fork, with the best gravy... corn , mashed potaties sweet tea, all was so so very good. Definately like what my momma use to cook. I ordered a slice of lemon pie, oh my, big thick meringue and this lemon pie is the best I have had in more than 30 years. Cant wait to go try their breakfast. Love this place, and the staff is great.
The food is okay. Home cooked meal in a small locals spot kind of vibe. What really got my attention and the reason for 2 stars is how dirty the kitchen is. Doesnt look like its had a good scrubbing in years. Made me look around at tables, floors etc. Not very clean. Otherwise I would give the food and friendly service 3 stars.
Update: I really wanted to be able to say they had improved since my last review, but the fried chicken looked delicious, but was so dry, I felt like I was going to choke. It had to have been reheated or kept warm for several hours. The cornbread was just as dry and tasted old. I spent over $20 for two pieces of chicken, two sides (mac n cheese and fried okra), a cornbread muffin, tea and lemon pie. I left more than 2/3 of my food on the table and couldnt eat it. I went around 6 p.m. and there were about 4 other tables of diners. The upside was the friendliness of the employees. They were great.I probably wont be going back. 😔‐-------------------------This is one of my favorite places to eat. The fried chicken is delicious, however, when we ordered it late in the afternoon (after the rush), it came out in about 10 minutes or less and tasted like it had been cooked earlier and either kept warm or reheated. It was too dry. Any other time Ive been there was at busy times and we waited 20 minutes for it to cook - as thats how long fresh dropped takes just about anywhere you go - and tasted much better and was juicy. Their side dishes, burgers and desserts are awesome!
We got the chicken livers and hamburger steak. Absolutely wonderful. It is like finding a needle in a haystack finding someone who can cook livers right. These were perfectly cooked and just the right amount of salt and pepper. And the guy behind the counter was an absolute sweetheart! We will definitely stop by again.
Wife and I eat here often, and are never disappointed. Today was no exception. We try to have our afternoon meals early, usually 3-4 pm to eat casually with no crowds. As we have come to expect, everything was great! We both had the daily special...today: beef tips & gravy over rice w/ 2 sides. It was excellent! Mashed potatos w/gravy & green beans...all fresh and hot. Staff, as usual, friendly & cheerful.I asked if the nice lady who does their baking had done fresh strawberry cake and she had Just finished several...it is by far my fave so ordered some for the meal & some to go....De-liscious!We will continue to be frequent patrons! Hard to beat!!No photos today...I was too busy Eating!!
First time ever visiting Come-N-Get It.When I first walked in, I felt like I was out in the country. Hardly anyone eating in the dining room. This elderly man that was taking orders on a menu pad. His look on his face was the look of.... Im busy now go away.I asked him if I should just come back another time.Instead of him saying I can help you with your questions his reply was... Yelp., Come back another time that would be good. 😂I guess they dont care for new customers. The food that was in the dessert case. It looked like it was sitting for awhile. The banana pudding wasnt covered up. Just sitting in a container with a medal spoon in it. That was stomach turning.I doubt very seriously if I ever go back just because how I was greeted and how the food did not look appetizing at all.
Update: I gave it one more chance. I was right; the food is not good. They deepfried my okra until burnt and greasy! Some vegetables are ok, but most of them are just terrible. Nothing looks to be homemade. And the prices have gone up! Not worth going back again for hit or miss food.
We enjoyed our lunch at Come-N-Get it. The food was fast and I appreciated the friendly service. The bacon was delicious and I really liked my pancakes. There is lots of seating, a few private rooms for large groups/meetings, and two unisex/handicap bathrooms. They also have high chairs and booster seats readily available. Very family friendly.
I love this place. Great prices and the food is amazing. Not going to lie Ive tried a few things that I didnt care for, but thats because it was not seasoned the way Im use to it being. Others I know love it. So its all about your tastebud preference. I am attempting to try everything on the menu, but fir some reason Im stuck on the Fried green tomatoes. Yum Yum. If you want a mouth watering home cooked meal this is the perfect place to eat. Most meals are $10.99 or less. Give it a try theres definitely something on the menu meant for you.
Great family oriented place. Can accommodate groups in back. Just good southern cookin. Breakfast served ALL DAY. Military are honored here. Great experience. Ive been here many times and have never been disappointed. You wont be rushed out and they make you feel like home. No one has ever complained.
Homely food!! We had the hot dogs basket, the chicken fried chicken and a slice of coconut cake.As other reviews mention, the fried green tomatoes was one of the best I have had. The chicken fried chicken was very well seasoned. Make sure you know what you want to add on top of your chilli dogs. I was not sure and they were ok with just the chilli on it.
If you are looking for great breakfast or home cooking this is the place. Super fast service, we walked in at breakfast time with a line of 15 people and were sitting with our food in 10 mins. They have tons of sitting, not just the sitting when you walk in. The food is awesome my husband got the Gritlet it is a omelette smothered and grits he loved it. But I highly recommend the chicken fried steak, I can say I of the best in my life!
We were looking for a place to eat while visiting Marietta and luckily found the Come-N-Get It. Comfort food at its finest. Breakfast served all day, and country cooking staples like Mamas meatloaf and country fried steak on the menu. Theres a veggie plate available, too. We had the country fried chicken, a BLT, and Mamas meatloaf. All were delicious. Well worth a stop if you are in Marietta. Prices $8-10 for sandwiches and burgers. $10-12 for dinner plates with 2 sides and bread. Most breakfast plates under $12.
All I can say is WOW! I visited on Sunday morning and it was busy. But dont be worried the line was out the door and they had us through the line and seated with our food in about 20 min. They are very fast and the food was delicious. My favorite part is they serve breakfast all day.
This place is absolutely adorable. I love the feeling of home inside. The signs and pictures around the restaurant bring a sense of family. Everyone spoke, and said hello. I highly recommend the chicken fried chicken, and the fried oreos. The kids got milkshakes and they were very good as well.
This place is great. Me and my aunt have eating there twice so the service is good. The food is, well homemade, I believe. I had pancakes to die for. The coffee the first time when the waitress served it was great tasted like fresh from the pot. Now the have it set up to serve yourself and it is not very good. And the French toast I ordered seemed like it came from a package, I thought it would be homemade like the pancakes. So I was a little dissappointed.😞
I had the shrimp dinner....shrimp tasted like it sat in the cooler for a week and the okra was burnt.....fries were ok.... waitress sat in the corner so I had to order from the front desk....teenager who took my order forgot to get me a styrofoam cup....had to make my own drink.... waitress brought my food and sat back down to play with her phone.....she never came back to ask anything. For $18.53 Ill go to waffle house. Never had any experience like this in all my 45 years.
I stopped in for lunch today not knowing what to expect but needing to get something as I travel for work. It’s definitely a down home, feel good spot! I got the Philly steak sandwich and asked if they could sub for chicken, which they delightfully agreed, and I also had the speckled butter beans. It was phenomenal! I noticed who the owners were as it was apparent they were involved in every aspect during my short lunch today. It was even heartwarming when one of the owners sat down to eat lunch with his mother. I will definitely be back and recommend this spot to anyone in the area!
I had never eaten here before and I was craving homemade meatloaf, so I thought Id give their moms meatloaf a try. NO is my review. The meatloaf was dark brown, overcooked, with ketchup on top. It was terrible. I also got the mashed potatoes which were dry and terrible -- like the kind made from boxed potato flakes and water. The only thing that was not too bad was the broccoli casserole, but Im certainly not going back just for that.
Very friendly staff. Homey atmosphere, big open eating area. Extensive menu of country-style food. My wife had the chicken and dumplings. I had The Kitchen Sink: all your breakfast favs grilled together. The food was excellent and a lot of it. The biscuits were outstanding; as good as Stilesboro biscuits. Will definitely come back.
Red, White & Blue!Slow paced family atmosphere with FAST SERVICE. The staff is friendly and polite. The food is just like mommas - for most of us southerners, thats a good thing. For those of you who like to bless your food, youll fit right in here. Country blue, checked table cloths with nostalgic pieces and southern charm all over. I like it here!
The customer service is absolutely wonderful. The guy at the register was so nice. This was my first time here and I just got a chicken biscuit this time since I wasnt that hungry but it was one of the best Ive ever had. I will definitely be back. I didnt know notice this was a restaurant after driving by it to my appointments. Im glad I found it.
I have always enjoyed coming here for a home style meal, and so when we planned a party, I decided to give them a shot for catering the BBQ. Let me just tell you all that while everything is pretty good there, the food they did for us was incredible. We had smoked brisket, pork and chicken along with slaw, baked beans, fried okra, and the absolute best Mac and cheese I swear I have ever had. They also did banana pudding that was to die for. The smoked brisket was tender and juicy and the chicken was super moist and fall off the bone tender. The pork was good but the brisket was undeniably the best I’ve ever had. And trust me on that because I have been to smoke house restaurants from one end of this country to the other including Texas where they are known for their smoked beef. This was hands down the absolute best. All my guests went back for second and many even for third helpings. No one can stop talking about our party and how good the food was. If you haven’t tried this place, GO. Get the smoked brisket if they have it. You won’t be disappointed. The people that work there are all so nice. The servers, cooks, staff and owners have all been amazing every time I’ve been in there. These are nice folk and we enjoy going.
Good food and excellent staff!I felt like I was in a gas station diner trying for a Cracker Barrel feel. The walls and surfaces are covered with football helmets, pictures, and Christian paraphernalia. The tables had checkered tablecloth! Half, or more, of the interior was out of view, this suggests private dining options.I had the hamburger steak (alright) with fried okra (yum!) and onion rings (super crispy) and Texas toast (butter-licious).Don’t forget to order a drink; and, watch out for the ice, it comes out fast!
This place is awesome! Best fried steak you can get around here. Excellent gravy too, Awesome friendly staff, and with all the warning signs about labor shortages and long wait times, it doesnt feel like I suffered any of that and it would have been worth the wait if I did. Have to come try the dinner.
Tasty meal but the Southern fried chicken was just one big chicken finger. The chicken livers were excellent and for the most the portions were as expected. They are definitely short staffed and while the service was a bit slow as a result, the staff was very friendly. Overall a good experience.
My wife and I only ever get Uber Eats from them, but as far as the food quality is concerned, there are few better southern restaurants in the Marietta area as good as these guys. Just simple, good southern food. From the meatloaf to the chicken and dumplings and fried okra, it’s all good. (Tip: if you get the banana pudding, throw it in the freezer and it’s almost like ice cream. It’s so good).
I love this restaurant! This was the first time I have eaten at this eatery. Food was incredible; I had the opportunity to eat the chicken fried steak with cream corn & mashed potatoes. Customer service from the server was also excellent; he seemed genuinely interested in us as the customer and made sure everything was top notchFor management,I was at your restaurant on Thursday, February 25th, 2021. Times were 5:45 pm till 6:30 pm; I feel so bad that I did not get the guys name who served us, but he deserves kudos for the wonderful service he provided
5 stars for really friendly staff. Now dislikes:1. Did not like waiting in line to order, takes to long.2. Veggies were bland. Now few things I did like:1. Restaurant was very clean. Has a 96 food inspection rating.2. Mac and Cheese was superfine.3. White gravy is spot on.I will not go out of my way to eat there, however, if I was close by, I would stop in for Mac and Cheese.I give overall 3 Stars.
I love this restaurant. They have a very good breakfast menu. I love poached eggs and they know how to poach a perfect medium egg. Their lunch menu is also excellent. Real home cooked meals is what you can expect from Come and Get It. I love their tea and coffee and their service is excellent
If yall are fixin to get yourself some finger lickin good food, I reckon you best be coming to Come-N-Get It! Heavens to Betsy, I do declare this is the best food around. Id even dare say that the food here is slap your mama good, but only a no good scoundrel would slap a mama.
Do not ever let your child work here. My daughter had to beg for her paycheck, Owners act all biblical but being an employee you have to pray that day hoping when the owners come in they are in a good mood and will not yell at the employees or pull them in the back and make them feel uncomfortable. The owners along with theyre accounting firm screwed up my daughters W2 and reported that a 16 year old girl made $58,050.00 for a few months of work which kept our family from getting stimulus as well as the student loan that she was set to get, but when her W2 hit the IRS everything was taken away from her. After advising them what happen in April I asked the owners son to handle this immediately and not only did he cuss me out he passed the buck to the accounting firm who said they handed in April but come to find out was just handled yesterday 08/03/2021. Stay away from them folks, Trust me they are not who they say they are......
The food was cold and the meatloaf was cold and not good. The deserts had been there to long. I wont eat there again I would have giving them no stars. Theres no handicap parking or ramps. So if you use a wheelchair you cant get in . Not enough room for a wheelchair inside. Not right
The food was southern not true southern cooking I grew up on being born and raised in the south and not for the price I paid $39.71. $15 for one small piece of catfish, tablespoon of green beans from a can and sweet potato souffle and $16 for a table spoon of brisket, beets and greens with a hard greasy biscuit. I can get two large pieces of catfish at Cracker Barrel for $15 with three sides and all the biscuits you want. Sorry but both these meals were only worth $20 total at best. The atmosphere was not pleasing at all. It reminded me of a church reception hall at best. The decor part Republican and part sports. I would have decorated with the history of Marietta Square and Kennesaw Mountain due to the location. I will not try again for the high prices and canned food. Thanks but no thanks.
The good: very clean and tidy. AC works great. The bad: fried chicken was quail size, with mediocre taste, and the foot-long hotdog (which I requested to be well done) was actually barely cooked at all, and cold at one end.Dinner for two was $25. Not a great value. This restaurant is very similar to Daddy’s in Acworth, but if they were placed next to each other, Come and Get It would not survive even a month.I know I’ll ruffle some Marietta feathers because this restaurant is a long time fixture in this area but I have to call it like I see it.
Stopped here today on way from Florida to Memphis. Came to town to see Kennesaw National Battle field. Googled a local restaurant for southern food. Awesome and reasonable restaurant! $12 for chicken fried chicken, two sides (I chose fried green tomatoes as one) plus choice of a bread. My son and I got Texas toast. My husband got a biscuit. Lots of southern side choices. The Mac and cheese was really good too. We all loved it! I took a delicious piece of chocolate pie to-go for dessert. Almost got chocolate peanut butter pie but decided on just chocolate. Just finished it here at our hotel and wish I had more. So glad we ate here! Love supporting family owned instead of just chains. P.S. they also serve breakfast all day. You can get that too!
Great family owned restaurant. Real nice people. Good home cooked food at a fair price. Ive been enjoying eating at Come-N-Get It for years. They have also catered some dinners a few times to the company I work for. Good food. Good people. Fair price. Go and Get It, at Come-N-Get It
My wife and I were looking for a nice spot to grab some brunch; when we happened to spot Come-N-Get-It.I must say; I couldn’t have been any happier after making the decision to stop in!The food was AMAZING and well priced! Moreover, the customer service was just as amazing! I’d recommend this place to anyone!
Amazing place! We try and make it here at least 1-2 times month, Nick is a great guy and always treats his guests right. The whole staff is friendly and welcoming and their location is awesome too! If youre looking for the best, real, homemade cooking this is the spot... Especially if you need a private room or accommodation for a good size crowd.
The good: nice friendly staff; high health food report:, ample parking: the green beans are exceptional. The bad: very expensive and poor value compared to national chains (i.e. OCharleys, Chilis, Texas Roadhouse, etc.). One small fried catfish fillet, two sides, and roll cost $14.99 (same price for salmon). The catfish was cooked well. It was small and I would rather have two fillet and one side for dinner allowing me the option to purchase another side. The 9 ounce cedar plank salmon at OCharleys is $17.99 with two sides with an endless basket of their famous rolls. The Texas Roadhouse salmon is 8 ounces with two sides and is $15.99. In my opinion, this place is one step above Captain Ds but a lot more expensive. If you were serving trout, I would understand one fillet but I was served one small fillet of farmed raised catfish and consider it a poor value compared to other restaurants. My friend had the banana pudding. It was very tasty and so was the sweet potato soufflé. Would I go back? If friends wanted to I would go and simply order a salad otherwise, there are better values just a few minutes away with more comfortable seating.
If you love country cooking this is the place. My husband, Georgia born and bred and not too easy to please loved it so you cant beat that. And the coconut cake received high praise. Really good tea too. I added a side so I could get cabbage and Im glad I did. It was awesome!!
I lived in Marietta for many years. The other day I was driving and seen this restaurant. I was so happy to see a place like this close to where I live. I decided to pull over and walk in. I had already ate but I wanted to check it out. I walked in and the owner greeted me very nicely. I decided to order 2 veggies and wouldnt you know the owner gave it to me at no charge. I was so surprised. Rarely do people now a days so things like this. He was so nice. The veggies I had were delicious. I recommend this place to all. Great atmosphere. The owner is nice and welcoming. I will be eating there again no doubt. Thanks come n get it!
The family that owns and runs this restaurant is so amazing. The daughter is always smiling and the patriarch is the kindest man. It is truly a peaceful atmosphere. Now the food... delish!!! The strawberry cake will keep you coming back! It is just like my grandma made it!! Maybe better.. just dont anyone tell her.
First time visiting, but not the last! Really solid comfort food - wife enjoyed their biscuits & gravy, and the chicken & waffles was awesome! Would be 5 stars if the coffee were better. Service was very good, and quick! Glad we got in before the rush (getting there before 11am on Sunday). By the time we left, the line was to the door - but moved fairly quickly from what we saw.
Bit of a wait to order after Church, but well worth it. Everyone in our group of 15 enjoyed their meal. Country cooking is the fare from fried chicken to meat loaf. The sides of veggies were good as well. I recommend the Coconut Creme pie for desert. A group can get a large room in the back.
This food is terrible. I like greasy food but this place is next level. Sausages are very thin and squeeze out more grease than a half pound burger. Bacon looks great but tastes like the griddle only. Hash browns are barely cooked.. (again taste like the griddle only) Cornbread is very dry and bland.. tastes like a very cheap off brand box of mix. This place makes hospital diners taste like Michelin Star restaurants. Threw away almost all of my meal and felt very sick after it.
I love this place , the food is good homemade comfort food. If you like chicken Livers , you will love theirs, its hard for me to order anything else, there is usually a line but they keep it moving I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody, I swear youll think Aunt Bea cooked your meal.
Driving home from Roswell, GA to Tennesse and was sick of chain restaurant/ fast food so I did a google search for a diner style restaurant. The Come and Get It was a lIttle off the highway, but we decided to take a chance. This is the kind of restaurant where you order at the counter, get your own drinks, and seat yourself. The restaurant was busy on this day and we had to wait a bit for our food. I was nervous because it was all my big idea and my husband and kids were getting annoyed at having to wait when we all just wanted to get home. Let me tell you the wait was worth it. My 11 year old son is the absolute pickiest eater in the world and he is still talking about the Come and Get It’s chicken tenders. He asks me every day if we can go back there. When I try to explain that it’s far he says “well, just GrubHub it!” Lol. I’m sitting in a diner in my hometown writing this because my son begged again today to go back to the Come and Get It and I was determined to try and find a restaurant similar to it our hometown. I was unsuccessful, but I thought a restaurant this memorable to my son deserves a good review. If you guys ever want to build a location in Murfreesboro,TN you have a built in fan base!!!!
I’ve been here many times. The other day I got the Chicken Fried Chicken with gravy and my two sides were mashed potatoes, collards and homemade biscuit. The food comes out quick and is delicious. The staff is nice. The banana pudding is to die for. This is as close as you can get to mama’s cooking.
This was second visit to Come-N-Get It. My experience has been the same both times.Again I will say, always try these places for yourself because you may have different tastes than me.The food here is average and the prices are average. I really wanted to try the smoked meatloaf, so I ordered that along with some sides and a drink. The meatloaf did have smoke flavor, but I wasnt sure it was from legit smoking or just liquid smoke flavoring added. In either case it wasnt a welcome flavoring and I normally enjoy smoked anything. The sides were just average with nothing special to point to. I was a bit surprised they didnt have a good horseradish sauce for their fried tomatoes. All of that said, the people were very nice and attentive. They did have a good amount of political and/or religious material around the store, but they werent trying to strike up a religious or political conversation so it wasnt an issue for me.I probably wont be back but I wish them the best.
First time eating here. I went for breakfast and the food was so good. I had the veggie omelet, grits and biscuits. I will be going back. There were so many things on the menu like the vegetables that I would like to try. The server was friendly and the prices are great.
You will not find a better place for great home cooking, nor will you find a better place to support run by down to earth, kind hearted folks. It feels like a family reunion when you eat here. The service is just as amazing and rejuvenating as the food! Even though you cant make a wrong choice off this menu, I highly recommend the chicken and dumplings.
One of the best biscuits around. They have a great family staff and my wife and I would come here quite regularly. Every meal I have had from here was exceptional and my favorites were the chicken and waffles, Chicken biscuit, and the smoked meatloaf. Keep up the great work.
Horrible! The fried green tomatoes were red and primarily breading. The pickled beets were from a can, so they were delicious. The chicken and dumplings were good! The meatloaf looks liked canned dog food (but I was told it tasted good). The casseroles were odd colors, like maybe a few days old. They charged $4 for the smallest bowl of banana pudding youve ever seen. There was 4 bites, Im not joking. And it was good, but not worth a dollar a bite! Also, they make their political beliefs IN YOUR FACE clear. Just know what you are walking in to...
I like the atmosphere of this place. They have rooms if you have a small or large party plus the open front area. The menu has a variety of comfort foods for breakfast or lunch. I had the pancakes and I only wish they would have made them smaller. The prices are decent and the staff are really friendly
Good southern home cooked food! During my first visit, I had the meat loaf and my wife had the ribs. Both meals were prepared perfectly. My wife says their coconut cake is the best she ever had! We have visited a total four times at the time of this review. Their location is off the beaten path but for us, worth the drive from Acworth.
I’ve eaten here multiple times and have never been disappointed. Very good Southern comfort foot. Meat and three with sweet tea! Chicken fried chicken, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, fried green tomatoes, etc.Atmosphere is typical for this type of restaurant, and the employees are very friendly.I definitely recommend and will be back next time I’m in the area.
Its been a long time since I found a family restaurant that actually treats you like family from the moment you walk to the moment you leave. Everyone in this restaurant is so incredibly nice and the food was fantastic! Im so happy to have moved to the area and can come here regularly now.
The food was wonderful, Service Excellent, and a real pleasure to have gone there. Well sure come back. This was a Sterling Estates Bus tour of 12 seniors at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. The Service was very fast and well coordinated and allowed us to have food delivered to a spare room where we continued our park lecture. Thanks so much, David Strand
We love every meal at Come N Get It! Also, the staff really makes each experience memorable, with their sweet & caring disposition, and genuine heartfelt interactions with each and every guest. The owner is so delightfully charismatic and full of joy and gratitude.Their scratch biscuits melt in your mouth, and the chicken and dumplings are to die for. I found myself getting a veggie plate today with the best squash casserole I have ever put in my human furnace, and sweet potato casserole that is on the same level as my moms! It was so savory and the texture was perfect. The beef tips are also the best around. Go here now.
I don’t normally take the time to write reviews. But I went the other day and the food was amazing!! It was so good I brought all my friends back the next day and ate again. Again it was amazing and they were all just as amazed. Furthermore they make you feel like family and its a very down to earth place. This will forever be my new spot!! Love the atmosphere, the staff and food! Always love the local spots!!
Just stopped in this secret gem for lunch. AWESOME home cooking family owned restaurant!!! Had the brisket, fried green tomatoes & side salad with yummy homemade ranch dressing. Loved it all! My husband had smoked meatloaf, okra, and mashed potatoes. Of course I has to sample all of his. It all was tasty too. Very casual family dining. Would recommend this place to anyone.*****
The food is good and consistent, and the staff is always friendly. The owner goes out of his way to thank people for coming and while he does speak about his religious beliefs he has made it clear, in an announcement Ive seen him make to the whole restaurant on multiple occasions, that while that is what they believe in ALL are welcome and while they make their religious beliefs public they never talk about politics. He even says we dont talk about politics here, basically this is what we believe in and its fine if you believe something different, were here to cook and eat good food. I appreciated that.
Found this gem of a place while attending a memorial service in Marietta. Not only was the food wonderful, but the owner & the rest of his staff were thoughtful, kind and courteous. Great home cooked food. Thankful to have dined here and thankful to have met this brother in Christ!
Had a late lunch here today, and found it to be just ok. If the vegetables are supposed to be fresh, they certainly tasted like something out of a #10 can. I read reviews on the front scape, and one individual praised the spinach as being special. Im sorry, it tasted like it came out of a can. I wont go back. My tab was $ 14.00 with tip, and I can eat better for less in numerous places.
We absolutely love this place! The pancakes are killer! The kitchen sink is a great and quick breakfast. Staff is super friendly. This is our favorite place to go for breakfast before or after walking Kennesaw Mountain.Really dont have anything negative to say. Not a fancy place but thats perfect for my little family.
I have eaten here several times lately with my little girl. She likes the pancakes and eggs, scrambled not stirred. I usually get the all you can eat breakfast and the food has been good consistently.I very much like that they ask if I want a re-order and don’t drag their feet bringing it. That keeps me coming back...
Food was sooo good. Affordable. Small hometown vibe! Met the owner and he is amazing! He made a short speech acknowledging not only God but his patrons and staff too! It was truly amazing to see a business owner care that much and give God glory for his grace and mercy!
This restuarant has impeccable home cooked food. So many choices to choose from! If youre having trouble deciding what dessert you want, pick the banana pudding. It wipes any banana pudding Ive ever tried, out of the water. The service that youll recieve here will show you what true Southern Hospitality is. Plus, the owner is a down to earth man that just wants to share his love for food, with everyone that walks in the restaurant.
I would give this place two and a half stars. The staff is courteous and attentive. Its not a place that youre going to see on Diners, Dives and Drive Inns. The food her is Southern food as if your momma made it and I do mean it looks like you went to someone es house to eat. The not so good is, its just that and the persons house just is that good of a cook.I really wanted to like this place as a little hole in the great home made style Southern Dive. The food, taste and quality is just so soI ordered the Fried Chicken plate (dark meat) and the crust was very thin barely hanging on to the meat. The chicken had NO seasoning AT ALL, small portions. It does come with two sides. I chose the Mac and Cheese and, Baked Beans. The Mac & Cheese Failed miserably and the Baked Beans was actually pretty good. Mac and Cheese looked under cooked and the cheese was just runny. No taste, No anythingI was really dissapointed and felt the place is just a tad bit under average. It has potential and a great location which is probably why the place is still surviving.I wouldnt recommend going, even though the price is pretty cheap. My plate was 10.99 with two sides not bad at all on the wallet. Just the food was pretty below average for a southern homestyle place you would expect better seasoning and bigger portions. Also, I had to put salt on Everything to give it some taste!!!!!
Overall, good country cooking. They have a wide menu for both breakfast and lunch. Lunch varies from burgers to gyros to bbq to your standard meat and two veggies. I did need to salt and pepper most of my meal, but that is understandable, since peoples tastes will differ. The traditional southern sides are on par, and I had their smoked meatloaf, which was good, but did not have an overpowerd smoke flavor. Very friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.
This restaurant has a great home feeling the people that work there make you feel like family. They have some of the best southern style food, like country fried steak and gravy, chicken and dumplings, green beans, mash potatoes, just to name a few that I have really enjoyed, if you get a chance I recommend this highly and if around ask for Nick. But the milkshakes are to die for also not to forget the pies and cakes. So if your in the Marietta area and looking for some great down home cooking give Come and get it....
I stopped in for the first time today. I walked in and was greeted by a girl at the register, Irene, who gave me a menu and a few suggestions on what to get. I decided to go with brunch. The restaurant is designed so that you order at the front, get your drink, then sit down and wait for your meal. The meal (down home breakfast) came with a country fried steak, eggs, hash browns, a biscuit and some gravy. Let me tell you... it was SUPERB. The steak was a good size and it wasnt fried too hard or too soft. The service was excellent. They were pretty busy at the time. But Irene, Ryan, and Phillip (Im relatively sure these are their names, forgive me if Im wrong) took great care of me, and from what I could tell, everyone else in the dining room. There was also an older gentleman working behind the counter who was great as well, but I cannot remember his name. People were greeted as they walked in the door, and thanked as they walked out. It was nice to see customer service so attentive. I talked to some people at the tables around me and heard a lot of recommendations for the smoked meatloaf, catfish and chicken and waffles.. MMMM, sounds delicious! I will definitely be back to try one of those! Overall, my experience at Come N Get It today was a great one. Im not one to review places, but I think this one deserves a shout out.
I took my customer there for lunch yesterday. I had the country fried steak and he had the smoked meatloaf. Fried okra, mashed potatoes, and collard greens also. We both raved about our food through the entire meal. Then tried the banana pudding which was also delish. They also have friendly staff here. Great bang for the buck.
This place is just INCREDIBLE!! Traditional family style home cooked meals, served made to order in this quaint hidden little gem of a restaurant right off of Hwy 41.Upon entering youre presented with a classic country motif, wooden back chairs and checkered blue vinyl table cloths. Just to the right of the register where you order is a glass cold case full of pies (more on this in a bit).We came in with a large family so we were able to try a multitude of different foods. The chicken and dumplings were awesome, the broth had a fantastic flavor. The dumplings were slightly doughy but i personally thought it was great!!!The veggies were all fresh and flavourful, and the hidden surprise was the Fried Green Tomatoes that werent listed in the veggies menu. Do yourself a favor and get an order of these. They are DIVINE!We all felt sinfully full after our meal, but they had one more surprise in store for us. FREE PIE for first time customers!!! 😍😍😍😍 Needless to say we all wished somebody could carry us out after this meal. I told the ladies at the counter theyd be getting this review because they ABSOLUTELY deserve it.Five Stars. A+ Service and Food. Cant wait to come back!
The best country cooking in town by the best people in town. The Tiliacos family will always be the first to make you smile, listen to your story, and give you some good food. There’s rarely a time when a family member isn’t in the building.I have been regularly going there for nearly 3 years, and I suggest it to everyone.
Place was clean, food was just ok, lacked flavor. I ordered the veggie plate w/squash casserole (lots of bread filler), mac-n-cheese (no flavor, overcooked), fried green tomatoes (tasty), colored greens (I couldnt eat, out of a can and had an odd taste). Cornbread muffin was delicious! Staff was polite, no smiles.
This is my all time favorite place to eat breakfast lunch and dinner. They truly cook and serve from love in their hearts and souls. They have the best food I have ever had just like home cooked meals with my grandmother! Thank you for your great Food and all the love you put into it.
The chicken and dumbling were watery. The waitress touched my silverware with her hands as she brought them to me without having a napkin wrapped around them.I also saw the same waitress take a toothpick and hand it to a man.unsanitary. I almost called the health department.I liked the place the first time , when my friend and I went there for lunch, the food was much better. The next visit the cake was not homemade neither were the cinnamon rolls .Appreciate the fact that they allow my girlfriend and I to sit and talk for an hour after dinner. We sat and order coffee. We dont normally get a chance to visit.
We stopped in after hiking Kennesaw Mountain. This is local home cooking and it’s excellent. We ordered the smoked brisket (they smoke their own in several huge smokers) and blackened trout (spicy!). We had mashed potatoes with brown gravy, a really yummy broccoli rice casserole, green beans (broad beans) collards, and two enormous and extremely good biscuits. It was everything we hoped for. Yum!
Very nice people but my food was just ok. My French toast looked and tasted like it was cooked on a dirty griddle. My smoked pork omelette was ok. The pancakes were spongy. Keep in mind I use to cook for a living so I’m critical. I love the people there. The owners are awesome. I just didn’t enjoy my food. The place was packed out btw. Great service
Great place for good food and friendly folks!UPDATE: This is the ONLY business (restaurant or other) that I have been to since the pandemic began where ALL the staff are wearing masks & actually wearing masks CORRECTLY. Thank-you Helen & the entire crew. Yall ROCK!!!

2022-07-09This place was wonderful! My husband and I have passed a sign on 75 advertising this restaurant and have wanted to try it for a few weeks. Today was the day! I ordered the chicken fried chicken with gravy, fried okra, fries, and Texas toast. My husband ordered country fried steak, Mac & cheese, fries, and Texas toast. Our food was so good and was well seasoned!! To make the experience even better the staff were so nice! We will be eating here again!

2022-04-16If you want a feel of grandma’s place and her Southern-Homestyle cooking, you will enjoy dining at this restaurant. I tried the Gyro omelette and I fairly enjoyed the dish and the price. The establishment displayed their patriotic pride with the decor.

2021-11-08I get excited about small town diners and this place checks all the boxes.Very friendly staff, bottomless drinks/coffee, really fun combinations of dishes (ask about getting your meal Down Home). The food is amazing. The reason I love diners is because its a place where they work with the same dishes day in and day out and that experience is reflected in the flavor. I had a fried chicken and waffles that was expertly prepared. Just right chicken filet with the perfect amount of breading, well seasoned. The waffle wasnt anything to write home about, but done well. The experience was so wonderful.Prices are decent for what your getting and the quality of the food is amazing. Ive lived here 9 years and I dont know why I havent come here before, I guess it didnt pop up on my searches but its well worth your time and a great place to spend your money.

2022-01-28Chicken and dumplings were amazing. Wings were to die for. Owner Nick was very friendly, checked on every table multiple times. Service was excellent. Prices were reasonable especially given the cost of food now. Would recommend to everyone.

2022-05-29Years ago when my father wasnt able to eat much my mother found this place. Its absolutely amazing and we became close with the owners. They treat their customers like family. I would recommend anyone to try their amazing food. The quality and the family oriented space they have is absolutely perfect to take your family out. Thank you Nick and Helen and the rest of the crew for making my family and I feel at home with good cooking.

2022-05-26I have a doctor nearby and drive by here just about weekly now after appointments. We were looking for something different & new for dinner and decided to give it a shot. Their staff is probably the best thing about this place. They are super kind and grateful to each guest for the business.I came towards the end of the night for take out and they got in the weeds due to some new employees. One of our 3 items got missed in the initial cooking round and so the 2 completedplates sat on the counter getting cold for 20 or more minutes while waiting on the 3rd item. That was a bit frustrating. With all of the take out these days due to COVID, many good restaurants have pivoted and added warming stations to keep to go orders warm. The southern fried chicken was good. It wasn’t amazing but it was definitely good. The dark meat was moist and the white meat was a tad dry. My husband feels it is overpriced, however, for what it is, even with increased COVID/supply chain pricing. The broccoli casserole was my favorite side, with green beans and mac and cheese coming in second. We had 2 slices of key lime pie which were decent - a little too tart for my preference but my husband liked it. We will be back and will try some other items too.

2021-09-20Everybody was extremely friendly and the food was good. I asked if the sausage gravy was made from scratch, not a mix, and they said it was. Its clearly a white gravy mix with sausage crumbled in, and a little too salty for my taste, but still tasted good. The biscuit was very good and obviously homemade.
