Not a bad hotel. It was close to what we needed for our business trip. It is close to dining, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, and the hospital. They are working on updating. The main thing is the beds were comfortable. The towels were nice and the shower and bath tub were very nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
I’ve stayed in many Comfort Suites and Choice Hotels but this one has to be the top. Staff were friendly and courteous and the facilities were super clean. I believe it has been just renovated; definitely better then the Hampton Inn across the parking lot. Will be stopping here again when I drive through
This is one of the best stays at a Choice Hotel that Ive had in a long time. The staff is friendly and professional, peaceful, and in a good location right off of 400. The rooms are spacious and clean. This is perfect for families or a quiet get away. They have an outdoor pool that is small but perfect we all enjoyed it. The breakfast is good, they have hot breakfast as well as other choices, and a waffle maker. Its not renovated, and had carpet in the rooms, but the rooms are very clean.
First of all yall need a sign at the road, one cant c the hotel bc theres a store in front of it. U can c the Hampton beside it real good. I had an issue w/ the toilet, i was told i could come down & get the plunger, ummm ok. So i go down 2 get it, its in the lobby bathroom so i had 2 go in there 2 get it
My favorite hotel. I try to book a room here every chance I come into town. Rooms are clean and always smell nice. Bed are unbelievably comfortable. Staff is super friendly and make it feel like home. Breakfast in the mornings NEVER disappoint!!!! Everything is remodeled and updated. If I could give more stars I would.
First - this part is directed to the Comfort Suites management - There are pictures for proof if needed . So don’t say I’m “mistaken” .to everyone else planning on staying here …….the 3 night stay that cost nearly 400$ was comparable to an hourly motel (it may not be much for a 3night stay but if you saw their hotel you would understand) . Construction and long waits IN the building is currently ongoing - the receptionist that is sitting at a picnic table in the front of the lobby makes you feel as though you walked into her living room (or basement) which is what the lobby resembles. There is also a half inch gap between my room door and the door FRAME so you can peek in and say hello (rm on first floor) look for the room with a view when the door is closed. The only reason they are currently in operation is that the room occupants are ALSO the construction workers that are creeping around the entire spot - in all seriousness, what a joke of an operation.
Second time i stayed there. Very convenient to the hospital. Excellent service. Didnt get the Breakfast this time due to my surgery time, but the last time the Breakfast was Excellent and that was 2 months ago. But the next surgery we will stay there again. I would recommend them Any time.
I called to speak to someone about if there would be a deposit fee on my credit card when I check in on Oct26,2021. The manager answered the phone and her demeanor was very rude because I was asking her questions about a deposit. The previous night I had called and spoke to an employee and he said, it would be a deposit fee of $100. The manager told me the employee was new and there won’t be a deposit fee on my credit card. So I said, thank and she hung up the phone.Do these people know without us booking rooms they won’t have a job. How unprofessional can a manger be. She needs to be retrained on her customer service skills.
Friendly staff and took animals for not a large fee. Overall room was clean. Pull-out sofa is not very comfy. Best just to put mattress on the floor. Housekeeping was probably the biggest issue - no sheets for pull-out in room, no extra TP or Kleenex left even after empty, took dirty towels and forgot to leave clean ones. No major issues so could be a 4-star but based on the rates could have been better.
The room was upscale & fairly priced! The house breakfast was really very good.I appreciate the professionalism of the entire staff: front desk, kitchen and housekeeping!I will stay again and I recommend this Comfort Suites!!Thank you for your hospitality and high value of service delivered!
The room was dirty and it was extremely loud outside my room. Website said pet friendly when my husband reserved the room. When we get there with our 3 dogs there was no pet friendly room available and was told if we sneak them in theyll be $300 charged to our card and we couldnt get a refund. All in all our experience was awful and will not be going back. Not to mention its out dated. Please save yourself the headache and find a better place to stay. I recommend home2
Looks like my review about Jennifer has been deleted. So Ill leave another one. She was very rude over the phone to myself and my parents. Would just sit there in silence and then give attitude after you asked if she was still on the phone. Lied about information and not a good look for the company.
Terrible hotelWhen we checked in we were told we were in a room with a king bed as requested. Our room was 2 double beds. The room smelled awful. When I checked out, I asked the older, Indian man at the front desk if there was any way we could be compensated. He said there was nothing he could do. He told me I could wait for the manager who would be in THE NEXT DAY. After explaining how busy I was, he sarcastically said “oh yeah because you’re such a nice guy”Do not stay at this hotel unless you would like a nasty room, incorrect bedding, and being mocked by the staff
Everything was fine until I was packing up to check out. I always pull the comforters all the way down to make sure I havent left anything behind (one time my Kindle had gotten kicked down to the bottom). The morning of checkout I found a pair of mens underwear in the bedding. AFTER I HAD ALREADY SLEPT THERE TWO NIGHTS. I left at 4:00am and didnt bother telling anyone; I just grabbed a Kleenex and tossed them in the garbage. This was a stomach-turning end to an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Positive: The manager at the front desk fave excellent service and was very kind and thought. Negative: The bush beside the handicap spot definitely needs trimming. It hits you in the face when you get out of the car. It has been that way since we were there in February of 2021.
There were only 2 negative comments I could make about this hotel, but neither really mattered to me, but it might matter to someone else. It is not shiny, new, and modern looking (but it has been remodeled) and the extra security lock was missing from my room, but there was a wedge provided, which was a very acceptable substitute. Now the positives: Everyone I encountered was very helpful and genuinely friendly. The free breakfast was standard fare with hot protein every morning, good coffee. It was very clean, the selection of TV channels was decent, the A/C was cold, and the hot water was plentiful with good pressure and the WiFi worked. I also slept great! It is located near lots of shopping and eating places and I felt very safe. Priced nicely for the area, too. I would stay here again without hesitation.
You cant beat the Comfort Suites in Cumming for location (near 400) and value. Rooms are affordable, clean and comfortable. On family visits to Cumming, my wife and I have stayed here a dozen or more times. They lobby is darker than it should be and its furniture is dated - they need to improve that. Cleanliness, in general, is better there than it used to be. The breakfast is ample and they usually have 2 staff refilling and making sure that it goes smoothly. Its the LITTLE things they could improve on - lightbulbs out, lampshades missing. Ive reviewed several of my last stays and I will continue to call for improvements and point out where they HAVE improved. Not having a weekend maintenance person is not an option - they need to have someone there or on-call. Like a lot of hotels this size, the workout room is small. They have fresh towels & water cooler there...but the treadmill is on its last laps. Needs to be replaced.
We were greeted by the desk clerk as elite members and presented with a goodie bag. That is a nice touch that many that weve stayed at do not do. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Everything in the room worked and it was nicely decorated. The room was clean with adequate towels. The breakfast was very good and was well maintained, with clean tables and counters. The outside pool was very small but clean, although we didnt use it. We were impressed with the cleanliness and nicely decorated lobby.
Convenient and close to the hospital. Near shopping and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and clean. But the highlight of this hotel is the customer service at the front desk. I booked two king-size rooms online. Upon arrival the Associate who checked us in and discovered that having a joining rooms was more important to us than two king-size rooms. She promptly changed our reservations to accommodate us and made sure that they were on the first floor! Outstanding customer service.
My wife & I stay at this hotel 2-3 times a year. Our grown kids & grandson are nearby so its convenient, and a relative value. We first came here because its pet-friendly. Thats a plus. But the place has not been updated in 3 years weve been coming. The entry and breakfast area are too dark. The lobby furniture is tired. We tried to print our boarding pass and the printer wasnt working. Our card room reader was faulty. The room was fine, roomy, good bed. The bathrooms, while clean, are shoddy. Our bathtub faucet was coming away from the wall. Its generally quiet, even in the back rooms facing GA 400 & RR Blvd. It has a small, but nice pool, which our grandson liked. The workout room is tiny.
Room was outdated and smelled like mold or mildew- poor customer service and double billing. After Priceline called manager asking them to bill them instead of customer the manager was very rude and lied about returning the double billed amount. Called my bank to dispute the charges. Be aware and che k your bank statement after staying here.
A wonderful stay! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a smile, prompt, courteous service and was immediately upgraded on our room...and we didnt even request it. I was FLOORED, actually. The staff was prompt, each morning in turning down our room. The continental breakfast was fresh - each day. The dining area and food prep counter spaces were clean, very well organized and someone was always available to assist. You can tell this is a mom & pop operation, but the service and professionalism resembled what youd expect in a larger chain. Our room as clean, the air handler was quiet and very efficient, water pressure was perfect. Sheets fresh, PLENTY of fresh pillows that offer great support, and a really comfortable mattress.Just an overall great stay! Will definitely come here again.
The hotel is in a weird setting and is a bit difficult to get in and out of. Check in process was quick and painless and the room I reserved was available. The room was not cleaned when I walked upstairs, but the cleaning staff told me to put my stuff in the room and they immediately prioritized my room. While they were quick, they were thorough as well. Room was comfortable, temperature was great and could be customized. Quality mattress and love the choice of soft and firm pillows. The hotel was sold out and as more and more folks got on the wireless, it slowed greatly in the room but seemed to be strong in the lobby. Breakfast was fine--nothing special, but hot, pleasingly prepared and plenty of it. Not lots of area to sit during but breakfast, but seemed to work fine. Would definitely stay again and this was my 3rd stay here.
After a 8 hour drive with 4 kids, we didnt care where we stayed, but this was a nice surprise. The lady at the front desk was so very helpful, sweet and made sure we had adjoining rooms. The rooms were clean and already had the air on. Bathrooms were nice and clean as well. The warm breakfast was nice and the pool was open and clean.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Having a child with asthma, we were happy that it was a smoke-free hotel and our room indeed smelled free of smoke residue. Our room was newly updated and clean. My family and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning. Definitely will recommend this hotel to our friends and family that travel with children.
The rooms were very musty smelling and made it so you didnt want to spend time in your room. Food was tasteless and therefore we didnt eat breakfast at the hotel. The manager was very rude. We booked a group rate ( which was the same price I could get online). My family tried to modify our reservation 12 days prior to our stay and the manager wouldnt budge. We had 12 rooms booked with our group for 4 nights each and they wouldnt change one day. Charged us for time we couldnt stay. When we arrived they said they rented our room out for the night even though we didnt stay there and were charged for it. During the thunderstorm rooms leaked. Lost us customers for good!
Housekeeping was helpful, providing extra towels and toiletries we needed. Of the 5 mornings we ate breakfast, the hot food was cold twice. The warmer was broken one day and when I informed the attendant, she informed the manager and said we could warm it up in the microwave. The staff wasnt friendly. The air was either on or off, it wouldnt self regulate. The room had a musty smell. There was no freezer section in the mini fridge, the pull-out sofa was a very uncomfortable twin, the blanket smelled like feet, there was rust on the chrome fixtures in the bathroom, and one of the shower doors wouldnt slide open, even after maintenance attempted to fix it. The main upset was the hassle about getting the rate we originally booked. The website was acting up, so I called in and was able to get a better rate over the phone. I later wanted to add extra days, but when I adjusted it online, it wiped out the rate given over the phone. When I called back, the rep said they were unable to give me that rate (that was just given to me) and told me to call the hotel site. They were able to eventually secure the rate again. Later, when I informed the desk that we were going to check out sooner than our reservation stated, the woman at the desk said that we wouldnt be able to keep the rate we reserved at (despite an email I got advertising an even lower rate!) We checked out having paid the agreed upon rate, but the experience was unprofessional.
The staff definitely makes this hotel great. I stayed 4 nights and they are extremely helpful and nice. The rooms are clean, nice, and spacious. The only thing I wish was better was the breakfast food. I wish there was more variety and the eggs need improved. Also the fitness center was small, but the equipment was still excellent and got the job done!
Always someone manning the front desk so we feel secure. The employees are always friendly and accommodating. Met our every need. The hotel is updated and very clean. Excellent service and value for your money. We stayed here, 45 mins. out of our way because we know it to be great. Well stay again and again.
I would rank this 2.5 right now. Staff is nice enough, but the hotel needs some TLC. Freezer looks like it hasn’t been defrosted in over a year, lights out in the bathroom, and the room is musty. As a second part of my review... I want to emphasize that the staff were very friendly and helpful. The issues we had extend beyond the lights, or the freezer being unusable... the shower door was swinging out at the bottom, and did get stuck a few times until I figured out what was wrong. The door itself is broken and needs to be replaced in room 206... if it falls and injured a guest... big issues. In regards to the mustiness of the room... we were there with a group for a baseball tournament, and I know two families did not even stay a single night, but elected to move over to the Hampton next door at a higher cost. This hotel needs to be remodeled. Until that happens, the staff that are working here will just be fighting a losing battle.
Enjoyed my week using this hotel as a base for a week of working in Alpharetta. Raj is great on the front desk. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is limited but fine. There is a small pool and gym but did not use. Wifi is good. Rooms very quiet at night. Smart tv in room
Price is too high for this out dated property. Due to a lack of hotels in the area and being close to a hospital, the cost of the room takes advantage of those trying to be close to loved ones who may be in the hospital. A short drive down 400 offers hotel choices that are better properties with a better value for the room.
I enjoyed staying at this hotel as compared to other choice hotels I have stayed at. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and bedding was comfortable. Breakfast was good for the hotel. Prices were a bit steep, I believe it might’ve been due to me staying during the holiday weekend. Overall, good place to stay
Upon getting to my room, which took forever to check in, my room was really not very accommodating, needs refreshed really bad. When checking out I told the front desk clerk how terrible my stay was, stinky room, warm not hot water, toilet not stable on floor, sink did not drain well, shower door did not open. The front desk clerk seemed as if I were a burden to her, no discount suggested. When I ask to speak to the General Manager she stated that was her.She also stated very matter of factly, what do you want? A discount. I have travel for 30 years, when this happens the discount is automatic without question. You should not need to ask for it.Thats called Customer Service. In no way was I just trying to get a deal.Im in the Customer Service industry also and I would never treat my customers with the disrespect that I felt I received.Room after taxes total $156.00, fir that price I would not expect anything different than near perfection.
We stayed at this hotel for one night. Angela, the front desk manager was wonderful. She went the extra mile to insure our stay was perfect. It was our anniversary celebration and our first time away without our children in years. She made sure everything was taken care of and made us feel like family. The front desk girl in the morning was wonderful as well. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable and wonderful. We will be back to stay at this great hotel.
Overall the staff was wonderful, professional and friendly. The room was a little dated but it was clean and breakfast was great and the staff kept to area clean and organized. I loved that they had regular pillows as well as feather on the beds so I didn’t have to call for one.
The hotel was an average decent hotel. Had to move from the first room. The toilet was leaking and smelled of sewage. Had no problem moving us to another room. Seemed clean other than some mold in the corner of the shower. No tub - just shower. The refrigerator was loud, had to unplug it to sleep. Central location but difficult to gain access from the road. As far as a clean, decent, friendly and affordable place to stay. It fits the bill.
Our family rented out three rooms for five days for a special occasion. The kids had fun in the adjoining rooms going back and forth. The pool, however, was not open. Clean, good choices for breakfast and pleasant personnel all made for an enjoyable stay for when we were there.
This hotel is located right off the freeway, with every possible choice for food or shopping within a five minute drive. The foyer was nicely appointed, the room was adequate, but the quality of the bedding and towels could do with some upgrading.Breakfast was OK, but after eating there once I headed out to eat elsewhere for the remaining two days of the trip.Front desk was responsive to a room maintenance issue.
Considering the price point of this hotel in comparison to similar properties, I consider the value received for the price to be quite reasonable. The carpet is near the end of its service life but was clean. The shower door needed some work, but the plumbing worked just fine. Good towels and breakfast. Mattress still has some life.
I am a frequent business traveler, never in my life have I left a negative review. I have also never been treated so bad in my entire professional career! Upon arriving I was pretty much ignored by an apparently over tired night attendant. When I asked him questions I got very snippy answers. When my key did not work I came back down and instead of just handing me a new key he scolded me to keep my phone away from it(I didnt even have my phone on me at the time)The room, sure wasnt up to Comfort Suites standards. Most Clarions Ive been to are cleaner. There was no OJ and about a half breakfast in the morning. Breakfast area was the dirtiest Comfort Suites I have ever stayed in. Then when I went to get coffee they had 2 bags of instant coffee pretty much dumped half out on the counter, laying in what seemed to be water discharge from the machine they were working on.Not to mention getting completely blown off by the Owner after expressing my concerns. They also supposedly threw away $300 worth of promo material that I sent to my hotel. After going through their dumpster they still didnt have it? What did they do with my packages? All I go was berated by the owner! This hotel is NOT at Comfort Suites standards! Very over priced for what you get. Add that to a very arrogant owner and I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy!
This hotel has a friendly staff, but the room was terrible! It was supposed to sleep 6, but theres no way. My grandson had to sleep elsewhere. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis, and the bed was very hard. I was up most of the night in pain.Showering the next morning was not fun. The water was freezing cold. We had it turned all the way on hot, and got slightly warm for seconds at a time, but immediately turned cold again. I was very disappointed. Not the typical standard of a Comfort Suites. Dont waste your money at this particular hotel!
My wife and I spent two nights at Comfort Suites. The check-in check-out process and staff were excellent. Room was fine. Breakfast was okay. When I travel I appreciate the breakfasts that offer a couple more already prepared hot items such as a bowl of hot cereal, oatmeal perhaps. Housekeeping staff...so, so. For the money, a good stay overall. I would go back.
We made our reservations pretty far in advance to get a good rate because it was a holiday weekend. Our reservation was for Thanksgiving day and the Friday after. We had a death in the family and had to come down a day earlier. When I called to ask for another night, Angela was very helpful and offered her condolences. I was afraid the rate would be astronomical since I only gave a one day notice. When I asked if I could have the extra night at the same rate after explaining our situation, without hesitation, she said Oh yes maam. I was expecting a little bit of a hassle, but I was on the phone with her a maximum of three minutes. We checked in with ease, had a comfortable stay, and checked out with ease. The breakfast was wonderful and very much appreciated as we had extra expenses on this trip because of the unexpected death. This is our second stay at this hotel and we look forward to many more visits in the future! I wont even consider staying anywhere else when in Cumming. A+ all the way!!
Comfort Suites is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are very nice and updated. The rooms are also clean. There were extra blankets, in case we needed them. The bathroom was so clean and the shower looked new and shiny clean. There was even a nightlight in the bathroom! The breakfast area was nice and the food was good. All of the Employees were very friendly and helpful. This Hotel is conveniently located close to Northside Hospital Forsyth.
When we got to our roomThe halls smelled of cigarette smoke. The room was not much better even though it stated it was a non smoking room. The office chair was destroyed with parts of the chair peeling off. The entertainment center had claw marks all around to the point I went down stairs to let them know so we would not be charged. The sofa bed had stains and was falling apart. Will be glad when this stay is over. For 160 I would have expected much more.
You put us in the room where there was so much noise from the ice making machine. That barely let us have a decent sleep even for one hour. Then they had maintenance crew working near elevator at 4:30 am and the manager admitted to that saying he had to come upstairs to stop the guys from slamming the doors shut and what not.Manager was so RUDE.... upon receiving the complain he flat out recommend u can go check in to the next hotel now and didn’t even bothered to log a complaint.
Very clean, modern. Night check in clerk was wonderful. Housekeeping staff was as well. Morning checkout clerk wouldnt speak. Actually refused when my ten year old child said, We are leaving. We had a great time, thank you and I hope your day is good too! Hes so friendly and kindhearted. There was no way that she couldnt have heard him, we walked right in front of the front desk. Its one thing to ignore an adult, but a child, seriously?Still rating as good because the night manager and housekeepers where the best! They shouldnt get a bad rating because their coworker is rude and disrespectful.
A bit dated, but clean. Service is very good. Worth the stay if you can get a reasonable deal on the room. The breakfast is adequate, pool is tiny and outdoors. The sleep sofa had a tilted bed design that seems like it would not be very comfortable, but out 8 year old did sleep on it with no complaints.
This hotel is awful. When we checked in the room was 85 degrees. Front desk associate said they aren’t allowed to turn the air on in the rooms, only the guests, according to the new owners. The carpet was coming up, bathrooms had holes between the counters and walls, dirty toilet paper nooks in the counters. The worst part was that the rooms smelled so badly of mildew you could hardly breathe thanks to no air circulation. No way could we stay there. New ownership is cutting corners, it is not worth it at all no matter how much you may save. The front desk receptionist however was very, very nice and did everything she could to help us.
The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. However, the hotel is in desperate need of updates and repair. The shower glass in my room only had one functioning door. The other door had been screwed into a stationary position. Neither of the doors were on any type of track. The carpet has an old smell and most likely needs to be replaced. Also, limiting the AC to 66 degrees in June in Georgia is not ideal to create a comfortable atmosphere for the guests. This falls a bit below many other Comfort Suites Ive stayed in. It feels more like a Comfort Inn or Sleep Inn.
Hotel was a mess. The TV didn’t work the first night, the elevator smelled terrible, the free breakfast wasn’t edible, the ice machine was broken, the rooms were small, the beds were tiny, and overall the place is a dump. The staff was kind and polite, so it’s not their fault, but for the cost per night, the experience should be much better. I will never stay here again, there are better alternatives for similar rates.
After getting 3 hours of sleep, waking up at the crack of dawn, and having my wedding all day, the first thing I wanted to do was get to the hotel, soak in the jacuzzi with my husband, and go to sleep. As soon as we walked into the room, the air was on 65°F high, and it was still hot in the room. We thought nothing of it, considering i was still in my bridal gown and thought maybe I was just hot. I got into the jacuzzi just to find out that I couldnt turn it on. At that point I was just exhausted and wanted to go to bed. I got barely any sleep because i kept waking up sweating from the room being so hot. I ended up not even sleeping on the covers. The next morning when we checked out, we let the front desk know how upset and unsatisfied we were with our stay, and because we didnt call in the middle of the night to tell them the issue, they only gave us a 15% discount (8 freaking dollars). I got that room specifically for that jacuzzi and I didnt even get to use it the way I wanted to because they failed to tell us how to turn it on.
Husband said the facility is a bit older than others he has recently stayed in, but I felt everything was nice enough. The beds were comfortable, but I would have preferred queen size to doubles. The breakfast is great with waffles, sausage/bacon and eggs. Was not noisy while we visited over Thanksgiving. A bit hard to get too due to location behind the gas station, but located near lots of shopping and food.
There were things about this hotel that were good, such as location, food and general condition of the room, however the toilets are so low it is very difficult to get up from them. Both my husband and I had a problem with how low they are. It felt like we were going to sit on the floor. Disliked the lowness of the toilet very much.
I stayed two nights. The hotel is clean and safe. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My room was clean. The mattress, pillows and bedding are very comfortable. The fridge was clean. Coffee and tea in room. No disturbance during my stay. The pool was cleaned each morning and ph tested. Hot and cold breakfast. Everything in my room worked.
Hotel had a very nasty odor, as I approached the 3rd floor the odor was obnoxious. Reported it to front desk. They offered my a different room on the first floor but couldnt move me until the next morning. They gave me the first floor room which the no English maid said was clean. Arriving at room I noticed a do not disturb sign, room NOT cleaned.Breakfast was not any better, cold coffee, stale bread and cereal. Not worth the rate. Way overpriced and the WORST Comfort Inn I have ever stayed in.I would recommend to find another place to stay
The room was dirty. It looked like staff was using it for lunch breaks. Streaky desk and coffee table, sofa cushions awry. Also, lots of mildew in shower stall. Manager was great and did everything she could to help us, but the owners werent interested. She gave us a receipt showing a $50 refund, but it was never refunded to the account.
We booked last minute as we made a detour to see a family member. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was above expectations. Breakfast was super. We stayed at several hotels on our recent trip and twice Comfort Suites was excellent. Cant say the same for everywhere we stayed. Thanks for the consistent high quality.
We chose this hotel due to its pricing which was excellent compared to our preferred hotel that is located across the highway, GA-20. In addition, there are many nice restaurants within a few minutes drive. Since were not happy with the attitude of the Hotel Staff, we will not return.
The shower was very small, but got the job done. When I tried to leave the bathroom, the door handle broke, trapping me in the bathroom. I tried for about 15 minutes to get the door to open, but was unable. I began banging on the walls and yelling hoping someone would hear me. After about another 15-20 minutes, someone from the floor above me yelled down to ask if I was okay. I asked them to call the front desk and let them know I was trapped. Someone from the staff was there pretty quickly. After another 15-20 minutes of the staff member trying to open the door maintenance was called. The maintenance worker was not on site, and we had to wait 20 minutes for them to arrive. He used a large pry bar to pry the door open. This ruined the door, but I was free. I spent a total of nearly an hour and a half locked in there, and was starting to panic. I was asked to not close the bathroom door again.Everyone from the front desk was very helpful through all of it. It was late at night so I did not expect to speak with the manager that night, but assumed we would speak the next day. I never did see the manager, and they never checked with me to make sure everything was okay after these problems. I was given a token amount of cash, and told that my dinner at the steakhouse up the street would be paid for. When I got to the steakhouse I asked my waitress if they had heard about this. She checked with all her managers and confirmed that they had heard nothing of the sort.
Not brand new by any means, but a good, clean hotel with a good breakfast and friendly staff. Sofa sleeper in room was basically twin size and difficult to put 2 kids on, but still a good value for us for traveling with a large family. No problem getting hot showers, hot breakfast, and enough space for 2 adults and 4 kids the night before a hike.
Very clean! really like Comfort Inns becuase they have a great breakfest and very nice beds. This property is very good at both. The only negitive was they have the bath hot water cut back to luke warm in the room we were in. Great pressure just wouldnt get hot. The sink would get plenty hot.
This hotel has been renovated in the last month or so. We stayed five nights. With a military discount the charge was approximately $300 less than the adjacent hotel. The facilities were clean and quite comfortable. The desk clerks Amber and Angela were competent, friendly and always helpful.
First of all I never would have stayed here had I been given other options. With Dragon Con, Hurricane Dorian, and Labor Day weekend falling on the same weekend all other pet friendly hotels within a 50 mile radius are booked. The staff here are poorly trained and the facility is disgusting. They need a complete remodel in the worst type of way along with a total staff rehaul and management that sets real hygiene expectations. This place is charging $139 a night right now when it doesnt deserve $60 motel 6 rates, outrageous..
We enjoyed everything about the hotel. The room is a nice size. We like the size of the bathroom also. The access to food across the street made this hotel an excellent location. The only thing we would say needed improvement is the size of the TV, we felt it could be bigger.
Hotel is in need of updates. Staff is nice and helpful. It seemed they were overwhelmed with so many teams at one time. There was a billing issue that they handled but never got back to us on until we ask the day we checked out. They need a new person to handle the group bookings. Needs new washers and dryers. Needs larger bed. Bed is ok for 1 person but not for a teen and a mom.
This hotel is a bit dated. Could use some updating. The room could of been cleaner then it was. Toilet paper holder and toilet seat were falling apart. Staff was friendly. Seems to me that the Comfort brand is lagging behind other hotel chains in updating their properties. Not worth the price they charge.
I made reservations for May 16th for three nights they ask if I wanted a room overlooking the city or pool and I said pool, we what we got was the worse room in the motel, it was on 1st floor beside the motel laundry, we drove 13 hours and checked in around 8:30pm and was woken up the next morning by loud noises coming from the laundry next door to us the noise started around 7am, also the next day room service didnt leave any wash cloths or coffee in the room. We canceled our next night and went elsewhere. When I complained to the front desk he said he would tell the manager, he seemed like he didnt care.Today is June 2 and have never got a call about our complaint.
The best place Ive stayed at in a very long time. Rooms were comfortable and cozy. After traveling and in the backfield all day the bed was very easy to fall asleep on and sleep peacefully. Breakfast was hot. Condiments were full. Food cooked completely. Will stay here again.
This hotel is very easy to get to, just off 400, east of Cumming. The staff is extremely wonderful! Everything is neat and clean. The breakfast is served from 6 to 10, which is very convenient for folks traveling for business or pleasure. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. This was my first stay here and I will definitely return!
When I called the hotel I talked to Angela, she was Super. Reservation only took a few minutes. When I arrived Angela was there to greet me. Check in was flawless. The hotel looked great, the roomwas warm and inviting, and very comfortable. Our stay was a pleasant experience.
I expect more for the price. I understand the area demands a little higher price but the rate should have been 40% lower for what you get.First room the TV was broken. Front desk attendant tried to fix it. Couldnt. Repair guy would be by the next day.Next day I return to room, TV is still broken.I take another room. Well this room the door handle is broken inside the room.Maybe stay at the Hampton next door.
This property leaves much to be desired in the way of “Comfort” the brand should remove endorsements from this franchise. The room was dank and dark and had an unpleasant odor. Television channels were limited. Air conditioning barely worked and the breakfast was crap. The staff came across as indifferent and the desk agent didn’t inquire about why I was checking out ahead of schedule nor did she ask about my experience. Over priced for this level of service and lack of comfortable sleep.
First impressions are important. We had arrived late after making reservations two months out. The room smelt musty and felt damp, a puddle of water had soaked the carpet near the window. The air conditioner would not turn on. We contacted the desk help and immediately came to look at our room. He told us that it was the last room available, that he would do his best to put us in another room. Within 10 minutes he had a room available on the same floor.
The check-in process was very fast and the attendant was very nice. When we entered into our room immediately we see the toilet full of blood. We tried to flush the toilet but it barely flushed. We didnt sleep very good worrying if the sheets were clean after the toilet incident. If it had not been so late when we checked in we would have left and found another hotel.
Im a choice rewards member. i stayed at this location on friday july 3. the room had been booked with my points but i was charged a $100 security deposit. I called this morning july 14 as the money had not been returned to my account. Id already spoken to my bank and there was no pending transaction for the funds to be returned. The woman said the money was never authorized by them. So how is the money out of my account if it was never authorized? where did it go? I told her I would be sure not to stay at their establishment and she responded with thats fine we dont want you here. so their customer service is bar none and they ripped me of $100.
We had the worst time. On the last day, we confirmed bedbugs in the room. We were comped our week long stay, then the hotel charged the card 3 days later ...twice. The hotel was not honorable to their word. To get it straightened out we had to go through our credit card service provider, they required 10 documents. Finally with no help from the hotel, we did get our justified end. The bedbugs were found in 7 other rooms to our knowledge.
I chose to stay here based on location and the offer of a Jacuzzi room. Once I arrived, however, the property was much more outdated than the pictures on the website had represented. Updating is far overdue and would increase clientele. Staff was pleasant and welcoming and my room was clean. I would stay here again.
This place needs a good cleaning! Mold and mildew in air conditioning unit, ceilings and corners of walls. Roach feces on lamp shades! I had to go and buy bleach and disinfectant spray in order to sleep! I cleaned the chair so I could sit down and the wash cloth was filthy as you can see in the Pic! The online pictures are of a much nicer hotel, definitely not this one! I will never stay at another Comfort Suites!
This hotel was really nice and had a great staff. We were there for my sons baseball tournament. Our whole baseball team stayed there. We had a total of 12, 7-9 year old boys plus there siblings and we never had any complaints about noise or anything. They were very helpful with whatever we needed and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
I typically dont take the time to do surveys, but I had to take the time to do this one. I stayed at the Cummings, Ga location it was a great experience. I was there for about a week since for work relocation. I was stay there again and really enjoyed my the comfortable, clean and really great staff. The staff is accomdating and so pleasant and professional. I would have loved to stayed even longer.
Comfort is a word I dont take lightly. Everyone has their own standards. This Comfort Suites truly exceeded the meaning of comfort. The king size bed, with its double row of fluffy pillows, was a welcome sight to my tired, sleepy, body. The room was nicely furnished with plenty of big soft towels, and even a few things I had forgotten to pack were there for me. Great location for the Cumming area, lots of restaurant choices within walking distance, but no need to go out for breakfast, the complimentary breakfast had plenty of options to please a plethora of tastes.
That describes my experience. A busy location. Desk clerk was fielding calls from people wanting rooms for the night. This was my second stop looking for a room. Clerk paused long enough to assist me get a room. Her multitasking skills were admirable. Even after checking in, when leaving through the lobby, she would ask if I wished for anything else. Great service.
Front desk last was so considerate of our long day at work and was and to get us into a room fairly quick at the best rate around town. She was really the nicest person we have met in a long time. We look forward to staying here again and enjoying her pleasant take. Thank you for making us feel at home!
We stayed at this particular Comfort Suites last year and was delighted that I found it this year. The reception staff were most helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean and everything was in working order. I felt that the rates for this hotel were very fair.
At check-in, our room appeared to be cleaned, but closer inspection showed it was not clean. Found some small piece of paper on floor between beds plus some minor dirt. Looked like room had not been vacuumed. One of the beds had several small stains on sheets. When reported to staff, the excuse was that they use green cleaning products that do not remove stains as well as traditional products. We asked for a different room, and were promtly provided one a few doors down. We moved all of our stuff to the new room. Everything in new room was fine, and new room smelled better. We had not really noticed smell in first room being bad, but when comparing the two rooms, there was noticeable difference in odor in the first room.Remained of stay was fine
Over the many years weve stayed at hotels, we usually choose a Choice Hotels property. It is very clear to us however, that a very distinct change has taken place. They use to be reliably very good hotels to stay at. More recently it is apparent that these properties are not being well maintained, taken care of, or invested in. The people who own/manage these hotels, no longer care. They milk them for all theyre worth and do not reinvest in them. Consequently, our satisfaction has greatly diminished. Routine maintenance is neglected, and often times the staff is also less than stellar. The Cumming GA property also needs to have the beds replaced. Clearly older, very used mattresses.
We were place there for long term housing after a fire. But, front desk clerk was so rude and belligerent that we left after two nights. She did not listen or even want to understand the issue and definitely was not able to think about Other solutions. Rooms were old and mildew smelling.
I needed a room at the last minute. Check in was very fast. There is no carpet in the room and the laminate flooring is not the best install. The bed was comfortable but was on a bed frame that made noise. There was a big dog in the room across the hall way that barked. The breakfast was not very good.
The bathroom was disgusting. The tub looked like it hadnt been cleaned in over a month. Carpet was dirty, doors were dirty. I am shocked by the appearance of this hotel. It is the worst experience ever at staying at a hotel that was part of the Choice Hotel family. No issues with the staff what so ever. Everyone was polite and professional.
Dec 1 experience was good but Dec 4 was horrible. After driving from VA that day, after my mothers funeral, we checked in and thought we would get a good nights sleep to get up early and continue our trip home to FL. However, there happened to be a soccer team from Key Biscayne lodging there and there was no sleep to be had. When we got ready to go get coffee the next morning, we discovered damage in the hallway -trash & room number laying in the hallway and then we get to the breakfast room and find it had been trashed. Your night clerk, I feel was not concerned on your behalf or that would not have happened. The kids had no manners & rude. Also, where were all the chaperones for these young men?Needless to say our stay was not acceptable on the 4th.The price we paid for the room on that night was too high for what we received in no sleep etc.
I made reservations by phone for your hotel in Cumming, Ga. at 905 Buford Road for June 15-17. Confirmation no. 13995679. I have been a member for many years. I specifically asked the lady on the phone before booking if this hotel was a pet free hotel and she stated it was pet free, as my wife has a severe allergy to animals and must travel with meds and an epi-pen. So we get to the hotel and find out there are dogs staying here. It is also noted on your web page that no pets are allowed here. So why is this allowed when I was told by phone and on your web page this hotel is pet free??????? Cant seem to trust what Im being told by phone by your reps and your web site. Very disappointed member and long time customer. Hotel was clean and staff was very courteous.
Stayed at this hotel for work. It was dark and dingy with stale odor. Room was not clean, found dirty sock on the floor and carpet had not been vacuumed. Smoke detector was hanging off the wall. Bathroom sink was leaking. Mentioned it to the front desk and when I returned was told that it was repaired but it was never done.
Door knob falls off, have to learn a special way to open the door, pull up part way, then down half but be quick. Toilet seat is falling off, but wont fix it. Shower bar is halfway inside the stall giving you very little room. Place is back of street with very poor parking. Will not stay again. Why are there so many poor Choice Hotels all around Duluth, GA? I will thank Angela for correcting the issue of an over zealous increase of rate (60%) for not staying 3 nights of a 20% promotion. She treated me very well, even when she was having a very difficult time, and is the reason I edited my review. Thank you, Angela.
Good deal for the price. This was our second stay and everything was to our liking a second time. We would highly recommend these accommodations to any travelers. Breakfast was always very hot and the gal who worked breakfast greeted me each morning with a beautiful smile and kind words.
Worst hotel Ive stayed in my life. I travel for work, so Ive stayed in my share of hotels. The smell of our room is horrible! I wish I could take a pic that you could scratch and sniff. It is so musty! Went across the street to other hotel and their booked. Ugh! And this is the 2nd room after complaining of smell and dirtiness of the room. 2nd room is cleaner, but smell is the worst. Do not stay here! Of you dont want to take that smell with you.
This was a great hotel stay for us. Even though the hotel was very busy at our checkin, the hotel staff was very friendly, patient, and helpful. The room was very clean and well stocked. This hotel is also very close to anything you might want to do and very east to get in and out of.
I stayed two nights. With my rating some amenities include The guest services, comfort and style of my room, a hot & cold breakfast bar, clean pool nice temperature and options being time wise, for one example Go Bags with a healthy & convenient breakfast paper bagged at the service counter set out prior to scheduled Breakfast opening.
Clean rooms and the hotel is well run. Breakfast is well stocked and they make sure to keep the food fresh. The woman who runs the kitchen made sure every one has plenty to eat. Hotel is located right beside Northside hospital with great shopping seconds away. Check out the Race Track gas station just across the street from the hotel for the cheapest gas in Forsyth.
Angela at the front desk was amazing! I called the day before my stay and asked for an early check in so that my mother could get ready for her fathers viewing prior to his burial. Angela went ahead and blocked our two rooms together without me having to ask and checked my parents in early as requested. She was kind, offered her condolences and was helpful in every way. Thank you Angela!

2022-07-01Great hotel. Rooms were clean, safe, comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms. A/C didnt work too well first day, but maintenance fixed it right away and it cooled great. Expected them to say it was working fine, but they fixed right away. Jennifer, hotel manager, was very pleasant and even made sure the package I needed for the wedding I was attending in town was set aside for me, even though it arrived a week before I did. Raj, went out of his way when we needed a couple supplies for our rehearsal dinner. Lady who did breakfast on Sat and Sun, not sure of her name, was GREAT. Breakfast was good. Overall great experience. Would definitely stay here again.

2022-05-21As a travel RN, I stay at this particular hotel a lot (at least 3-4 days a week), especially since its almost directly across the street from the hospital. The staff is always so nice, especially Raj! The hotel has been remodeled and is always clean. The beds are very comfortable. Its always quiet there, unless you get the room thats next door to the laundry area. Overall, this is a nice, reasonably priced hotel that I would recommend.

2022-06-09Honestly, the best bang for the buck I have experienced in this price range in a while. I was also pleasantly pleased with the breakfast as well. I would highly recommend this to friends, family, or internet weirdos reading this.

2022-04-01I had an uncalled-for, underserving, atrocious, horrendous, belligerent, abusive, disrespectful front-counter Customer Service by a lady and on the phone prior to my arrival. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Ever. Even while bringing issues up in any other situation in my life, I’ve not experienced, anything like this. Ever. I did not at all “complaint” at all. I was merely by asking about my reservations, I was abused over the phone and then in person while checking-in. I even gave her an opportunity to make it better, she didn’t. She continued with her tirades while abusing me verbally and emotionally. It was horrendous. It was totally uncalled for and abusive from her part. It was sad to see and hear and to very hard to experience.
