High quality products.......thats the only praise I can give. They, in the past, have provided me high quality holsters both personally and professionally. However, Ive had two orders, one from 9/2020 and one from 10/2020, that have not been filled. When I inquired, I was told that one of my orders had been lost by the post office. I never received a tracking number, even though they claim they always provide one. I told them to either fill my order within the next week or I wanted refunds for both orders. They responded that they would be produced and shipped within the next week. That email was March 23, 2021. I still have not received holsters or my refund. I emailed on April 4, 2021 demanding a refund. So far, no refund, no holsters, no response. Horrible service. Completely untruthful. If you want a holster before your pistol is an antique, go elsewhere!
Purchased a holster June 8, 2021 with a lead time of 6-8 weeks. It’s January 26, 2022 and still have not received my order. Only communication has been a generic email on January 10th stating a status change, holster is now in production. Emailed customer service January 11th for new ETA with no response. I understand orders get delayed but a 6 month delay with no communication is unacceptable.
Horrible experience!! Would not recommend to anyone and very disappointed! I never write reviews but this one definitely needs one. The time period was suppose to be 6 weeks it took more then twice as long as that to actually get my holster. Then the holster broke within minutes of trying it on, super cheap product that’s not worth it. I had to pay for shipping back to them and then they didn’t even give me my full refund. Their communication is terrible. I honestly don’t know how this company is even still in business! Seriously take your money somewhere else and save yourself the headache and frustration!
Used to be a top-notch outfit. I previously bought kydex IWB holsters for my M&P Shield 9 and G19 GEN 5 from Cooks. Both were flawless, well-made, and arrived within the expected timeframe. That was all between 2015-2018. Back in early 2020, I ordered one for my G48. After about two months of waiting (which was a longer period than their expected lead-time), I called. The woman I spoke with told me the holster would be mailed out that day, which it was. This leads me to believe it had been ready for some time, and they just forgot about it. When the holster arrived, it was obviously not up to Cooks former standard of quality. The rubber grommets were missing from the retention screws, meaning the holster essentially had zero retention. I would have given them three stars, but when I wrote a critical, but fair, review on their website, awarding them three stars, they failed to post it. But back when I gave them five stars for the other two holsters, they sure got those up there. So, minus one star for delivery issues, minus another for declining quality, and another for dishonesty in the reviews system.
I ordered a holster on 1/31. It is now 4/19 and I still havent received my holster. I sent an update inquiry on 3/30 through the contact form on the website. No response. So on 4/12 I made a claim through my credit card. Surprise, surprise on 4/18 I finally receive a response that my order is in quality control and will be shipped this week. Meanwhile their website is still stating a 6 week lead time, when its been at least double that for me and still no holster. My advice...while this company may make quality holsters (I dont know since I dont have mine yet) there are plenty of other companies out their that do and communicate effectively with their customers on current lead time and subsequent delays. Go with one of those companies and not this one.
My first holster purchase was great and the holster was very nice. My second purchase was received way past the due date. That holster was nice also. Thats why I decided to purchase 2 more. They are finally scheduled to be delivered to me Thursday. 9 weeks and 2 days after ordering. I dont really understand this and Im extremely disappointed that it took this long. No good excuse for this to happen. Website states 3-4 weeks. I wasnt really expecting that because I am in the distribution business and know how things are going at the time. When I asked when my holsters would ship I was given a date of almost 8 weeks. When I asked if that would be normal for now I was told the wait time was 4-6 weeks. That didnt make sense at all. I really dont know what to think about having to wait over 9 weeks. I just asked for a truthful answer. Im trying very hard to conduct business here, but I am at a loss right now.I was informed that it shipped Friday morning and I would receive it Monday. According to USPS the tracking label was created at 2:25 pm Friday afternoon though. Dont know what to think.I also asked what could be done for this big mistake. Would I be given anything for it. Unfortunately I wasnt offered anything except let them know when I made my next order and they would see if they could do it faster. I would expect something else besides that, but thats all.Its Thursday and it will not be delivered today. Shipped from Georgia to Alabama and is taking a week or more for it to get here. Hard to believe.Finally received my holsters Friday. 9 weeks and 3 days after ordering. The G30s holster fit perfect as I was expecting. The G19 holster fits, but not like the others from them. Doesnt just slide in and snap like the other ones, but it will work. I was surprised at how filthy the inside of both of them were. Thought they would have been cleaned out before shipping them. Ill have to see how they conceal while wearing them. I hope as good as the previous 2 that I have from them.Since I purchase a lot of firearms. Since my last order from Cooks I have purchased 4 new holsters from other makers. My most recent one was a custom kydex for a recently released new handgun. It was shipped 8 days after placing the order. Better holster at a cheaper price because they provide LE and Military discounts. They are some outstanding people to deal with. I already have 4 of their holsters. Cooks did provide good work before, but is blaming Covid for everything to not lose customers. People are very understanding when they are just told the truth. I dont know why they dont seem to understand this. You can also see the drop in quality since they are in over their heads. They do all of this and dont offer the customers anything for all of these problems. I had a company mess up one of my 2 holsters so they gave me a free holster for the trouble. That is how you conduct business and get repeat customers. Even during these difficult times I can get a custom made leather holster in 5 weeks from one of the best holster makers in the country. Its really too bad that Cooks does not value their customers better than they do. I would suggest to everyone to buy elsewhere as you can tell by all of the bad reviews. Its very unfortunate that they dont understand how to conduct business in the proper manner for some reason. Good luck to all of you finding a good quality holster at a good price because there are definitely good ones that really appreciate your business. They are also nice, very professional and will reply to your emails within a hour or less usually. They appreciate first responders, LE and Military too. They have high ethics and appreciate all of their customers.
These people make a great product HOWEVER, when they say a lead time of 2-3 weeks they actually mean 3-6 months. Ive placed two orders, the first took over 3 months to ship (only after I sent an email inquiring about it) and the second one I cancelled after waiting 14 weeks with zero communication about the product. They claim the firearm industry is suffering and thats the reason for the delays but I believe shoddy business practice is the real culprit. Buyer beware it is a good product but you actually have no clue when youll get it, be it 3 weeks or 6 months.
This business used to be the best place i know of to get a holster. Not anymore. Zero communication! The wait times are months more than they say. The quality is like the rest of the business pathetic. I have reviewed this company at least 6 times before always 5 stars. Not sure what has happened but I would highly recommend finding another place to purchase a holster.
Placed an order August 14th and have still not received anything as of December 2nd. When I placed the order the website banner said 3-4 week lead times. It has been nearly 16 weeks. I understand delays in production due to COVID but I have ordered several other made-to-order products in this time period from other companies and at least received updates throughout the delay. I called and asked for an update October 9th and was told it was now in production. I received a status change email immediately following the call. Nothing received since then. I may have to file a fraud claim with my credit card company. Would not recommend buying from Cooks Holsters.
Ordered my holster on Sep 12th. A month later still no response. Called the company, they said they missing a part of my order....Almost 6 month later still nothing. February 12th I got an email that my order was shipped, no tracking number was provided. Waited for more than a week and wrote an email to the company that Im going to file a dispute if they dont give me any information. The next few minutes I got the email from them that they refunded my money on this order. That means the order was never shipped... The worst service Ive ever met and here Im 5 month later , no holster again...Update: After 5.5 month Ive finally received my order.
Great products but the wait times are atrocious at best. I ordered my holster 3 months ago sent multiple emails and just recieve the same lies as everybody else is warning you about! I was told it would ship by Decmber 15th nope! Then i was told it would ship by January 8th once again nope! This will be the last cooks product I buy. Save yourself the hassle and order from somewhere else where youll actually recieve a product you paid for instead of them just taking your money and then feed you lies about when youll get it.
Ordered a holster on November 9. One month later I inquired about it and Crystal Cook responded saying covid hit us hard and that my holster will ship out around the 20th of Dec. It is not Jan 15 and the order has not shipped and no one has responded to my emails in 2 days. I will filing a claim with my credit card company.Edit: the day I posted this review they mysteriously notified me that my order has shipped. That was over two weeks ago and the tracking still says label created. Carrier awaiting package. This is literally the worst company Ive ever purchased from and fact that they havent just offered me a refund at this point is very telling of their shady business practices.
Ordered a holster in August...it’s November, and still no holster. I was told that it would ship “by the end of the week” as it was in production. That was two weeks ago. No holster. When I called, there was zero attempt to explain where we where with the order. Didn’t seem like they cared very much. First and last time doing business with this company.
Ordered 2 custom holster for 2 kinda obscure firearms and they had them in their inventory. Ordered in february and received in june. Every time I reached out to ask about the lead time I was answered in a timely manner. I know they are not a giant operation so I was patient and it paid off. 2 incredible holsters and i’m not disappointed. I will definitely be ordering from them again.
Ordered 3 holsters from them labor day weekend. They just arrived this week and are very nice quality. Im looking forward to using them.When I placed my order I forgot to enter a coupon code for 10% off. Based on the outstanding reviews Cooks Holsters had received I had no doubt that theyre worth the full price but I emailed them anyways. I received a credit back on my card for 10% of the price less than a day later.Its not that the 10% wouldve been a deal breaker for me but it was the principle of honoring what was an honest mistake on my part. For that Cooks Holsters has my business for life. Ive already told several of my friends about them and hopefully theyll be placing their orders soon.Thank you Cooks Holsters for doing the right thing!
Ordered a holster back in November and was told it would take about five weeks. Reached after Christmas and was told it was still on the floor to start and was told it would be done by mid January. I reached out sometime around mid January and was then told it’s STILL on the floor and it would be ready by end of January I called again in February 4th and was told it would be ready my March! This is absolutely insane and was told I could not receive a refund for something that they haven’t even started yet! I’ll be filling a claim now with my credit card company. This was not worth the money I had to pay to wait 4 months for a product they haven’t begun to start.
I placed an order for a drop leg holster on 08/24/2020 with a 3-4 week delivery time. Its been 12 weeks and still no holster. I called on 10/15/2020 and the thigh rig was in transit, somewhat understandable. I called again on 11/12/2020 and the thigh rig is still in transit, so where is the thigh rigs coming from to take this long? I understand COVID may slow things down but, put it on the web site so individuals will know of the additional delay so they may opt to go elsewhere . If I had known of this turn around time, I would had went elsewhere.
Still waiting over three months for my holster. They have lied multiple times about it shipping or in quality control etc. They always have some new lie. Just a disgrace of a company. Shame on them. The dont deserve any business at all. Youve been warned. I would really look elsewhere.My biggest issue is being lied to. Its unprofessional and rude.
Superb quality for an American hand-made product. My holster has no sharp edges and excellent finish. How can you beat that? I just received mine for a Taurus PT111 and love it! Its so lightweight and yet very sturdy. The turn-around time was on point as advertised, although I would have waited 2 months if I needed to. I will buy all my holsters from these guys from now on.
I see where some people are complaining that it took them a while to get their holster. They tell you its gonna be around 6 weeks before you get your holster, so whats it hurt to wait a couple more weeks? QUALITY over QUANTITY all day! This holster is just that! Smoothest draw I have ever had from any IWB holster! (Running a Taurus G3C) But the XL Ulti-Clip really sets this thing off. Fits over my belt perfect and DEFINITELY isn’t going to come off trying to draw your weapon. HOWEVER I would suggest y’all switching to UPS or FED-EX or something because USPS is just getting worse and worse with losing packages/being slow and “COVID” is becoming the new excuse for everything nowadays. Also I dont understand why people have had a hard time finding out where their package is? I called several times and just gave them my order number and they told me right where it was. It took a little longer than I expected but overall I am more than satisfied.P.S. : Need to include pair of slightly shorter screws with the wing mod/claw attachment so if you decide to carry on your backside the screws arent as long so you dont feel them when you sit down. You can barely feel them tbh but it’d be better if not at all😂THANKS COOKS!-A satisfied customer
Picked up three custom holsters today - one was for a S & W 908 that Cooks did not have a template and was asked to leave the firearm with them. After meeting with them for five minutes I had absolute trust and gladly left the gun for two weeks. The quality is amazing and these are people you want to do business with. Excellent experience.
Please start reading from my 5/11/2018 entry below:I must say that out of three holsters for one firearm this is the best and most comfortable holster I own (US flag w/ 2A B&W on gun metal grey). Patriotic Comfort Series. I will buy from them again for my next firearm and there is no doubt about it. I cant wait to go outside. I do have two problems and one legitimate complaint.PROBLEM1. I ordered the 2A cleaning mat and was shipped the US flag dont tread on me.2. Before my first order shipped (20231) I called and ammended the order in hopes that it would ship with the first order. The second order was #20433. Well it did ship with the first order and in fact shipped in the SAME bag but I was charged for shipping on the second order.COMPLAINT1. After I paid for the first and second orders a 25% offer was made available for patriotic products. Prior to my order coming out of production AND before it was shipped, I was told that orders placed before the 25% were no eligible. I did receive 25% off the second order but that was taken back in shipping charges that I am not confident should have been applied when all 4 of my items shipped in the same bag. I also feel that I should have been eligible for 25% off the first order because it was still in production and had not been shipped. In every retailer across the country the 25% offer would have been a simple refund and re-ring, especially when the product had not been shipped.Again. I will definitely buy my next holsters (yes. I intentionally said Holsters -plural) from Cook Holsters. Their product is exceptional, their customer service is EXCEPTIONAL and beyond compare but they handled what should have been a basic customer adjustment upon request has resulted in me raising a suspicious eyebrow.Actually, my next product will likely be a kydex wallet, another dump tray, and a second cleaning mat before I buy another firearm which requires a holster.5/11/2018I wanted to amend this post after having both orders refunded. I also understand that this is a public post.I have since placed 2 more orders with cooks holsters. As I stated in my first post, the products are exceptional and are only second to their customer service. Being a novice in the realm of firearm concealment, I recently had an issue that was caused by my incorrect approach to removing my comfort series holster from the sitting position. Customer service took the time to determine the root cause of my self inflicted problem and provided me with direction on the recommended way to attach and remove my approved belt from my holster. I might also add that I became so attached to this holster that when I broke my clip (out of ignorance and no fault of Cooks Holsters) and incapacitated my holster, I felt like a smoker who was driving and then realized that they dont have a lighter. True anxiety!!In ending, I had no intent of soliciting a refund or free stuff. Nothing is free unless youre a liberal or democrat (sorry about that :)). The true value for an adjustment would have been $30-$35 bucks, not the refund of 2 complete orders.My next holster for a USP Compact 40 in O/D Green is in production as I type! I also ordered another dump tray for downstairs. My next holster for my yet unknown next firearm will also come from this company.Am am truly a fan of this company!!
Placed an order online the evening of 05/30. The very next day they sent out a coupon code for 15%. I e-mailed to ask if my order from the previous day could be canceled so I place a new order and take advantage of the coupon offered or if they could credit me back the difference. They ignored my email. If they at least responded and said they couldnt cancel the order or issue a refund it would have been acceptable. Ignoring your customers is an easy way to lose them.EDIT: I was contacted by the owner and he apologized profusely for missing my e-mail and rectified the situation. Cooks Holsters gets 5 stars in my book!
As a former armorer in the U.S. Army, I buy all of my holsters from Cooks Great becuase of their great products and Can Do customer service! My custom IWB carbon fiber kydex holster for a Glock 27 w/ Veridian laser was finished ahead of schedule and fits like a glove. Even my OCD has been pleased.
Holster they built me was for a unique firearm, so I understand that they dont make it as a production model. Cooks swore up and down that they could make the holster work for the ways I needed. After a month of trying this out is is down right unusable.They did not take the time to round any edges, the gun rattles around in the holster. There is no sweat guard so reholstering it a difficult feat. The Kydex used is thin and cheap feeling. Belt hook does not offer much support.Please be careful if you carry with one of their holsters.
Excellent holsters. I just ordered my 4th holster from them. Unfortunately, I keep missing out on these coupons. Im going to their shop this week to see if they can do a custom job on a Kahr PM9 with Viridian laser. Hopefully, they can come up with a coupon when Im there.Solid, reliable company.
These folks make some great holsters and are very knowledgeable in my experience. Over the years I’ve had a few minor things go wrong with my holster (mostly fault to my own) but they always fixed in on the spot free of charge even if I just walked in randomly with no appointment. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely rudest people to deal with. Hate public safety. I work for an ambulance company next door to them. We have one ambulance and a crew of two. We work 24’s and are rarely there. About a yr ago my partner and I came back from running calls all day at 2am to zaxbys thrown on our door and a note. In the note it talked about not parking in their spot, accusing us of stealing their cone, and accusing us of throwing zaxbys in the back of their truck. Like I had mentioned. We have maybe 6 people there total. And no more than 4 at crew change. At that time there were only 2 crews. There is a CrossFit across the street from us and they use everyone’s spare parking everyday. At the time their truck had been sitting in our parking space for 2 weeks (hence why we had to park in their space). Since that day they have always been rude to us. Well, just the other day a new person came and worked at our station and made the mistake of taking one of their holy spots. So they parked behind his car and refused to move it for several hrs. I’m now making it my mission to let every public safety person I know not to do business with Cooks Holsters or Cooks Annex. If they had handled ANY interactions with us better then I’d let it go.
Just recieved four new Cooks Adjustable holsters . Im a lefty and have had tons of holsters , none as comfortable as my Cooks . Easy on easy off all day comfort . Im in and out of my car many times every day . Previous holsters became a pain about noon , not my Cooks . Thank you Cooks and have a Merry Christmas .
Placed an order on 2/24/2020 and was told it would be 2 weeks to complete my order, it been over a month and I’m still waiting. I’ve made a few phone calls and there’s always an excuse.... I’ve even asked for my money back and they refused to refund me .... learn from my mistake and stay away

2022-07-13Ive order multiple times from Cooks Holster.. no complaints about the quality they produce but the customer service needs MAJOR upgrade. Like others have experienced, the lead time runs well over what the stated time frame of 4-8 weeks. If you dont reach out to them about your order, they definitely wont reach out to you with any updates. 3 orders from them and each took over 12 weeks before I received my holster. Knowing that they were slow in production I picked the most simple color BLACK in hopes to speed up my orders. Nope.. that didnt matter.If you dont mind continuous email requesting updates and no response, along with accepting your order multiple months later, Cook Holster is legitimately a great product and I could not be happier with the products

2022-04-03Cook’s made it Right!Thanks to Bob and Crystal Cook for resolving my latest order issue!For others… my latest order was a trigger guard holster and gun mat… the initial lead time came and gone. After a while, I called Cook’s, and Crystal answered. Not only do they have thousands of orders, but they have been short staffed to the point she is helping with production, which of course, helped me realize they have not updated me and hundreds of others on order status. Many people would crumble or be rude from stress… Not Crystal! She was nice and professional…Everything they made for me before was superb! After my product shipped, it didn’t arrive, so Crystal sent out an immediate replacement! I was really impressed!They are a small business and kind on the phone as well. If you need a holster today, or even next week, for now, Cook’s may not have the bandwidth to support that turn-around. But if you can wait, I am sure you too will be impressed with their holsters!

2022-01-10I don’t normally write or read reviews but this experience with Cooks is just to bad to not let other consumers know. Plus, everyone should read the other reviews and not just mine because the good business is not in Cooks favor according to other consumers.Purchased a thin green line holster & extra sizes of closed belt loops. I also paid extra for custom service, Total cost was over $100. When I received the holster the wing belt loops were not on the holster but the closed ones were so I wore it that way for about a week or so. I decided to change the closed loops for the wing to see & feel how it would wear but when I went to change them the hole for screws on the wings didn’t line up with the holes on the holster.I called cooks & explained, the lady said she would send out a replacement, I waited for 10 days but never received a replacement so I called again & spoke with Crystal (spelling?) & she said she was the owner & told me that she would get with the other lady and if they were sent already she would forward the tracking number & if they haven’t she would get it in the mail & forward the tracking number.10 days later now & still haven’t heard a word & I can’t use the product I purchased using the wing loops. I normally buy my holsters from Alien Gear but decided to try something different because I’m a USMC vet and wanted a Thin Green Line which Alien Gear doesn’t do prints. All the holsters I’ve purchased from Alien Gear (10) I’ve never spent $100 for one. Also, with 1 phone call if their were any issues with a order, Alien promptly corrects it within 24 hrs.It’s pretty bad when a owner of a company doesn’t follow through with their owns words thus translating to horrible customer service. I will never purchase from Cooks again will be Cooks free advertiser here in Kansas.Thanks Cook’s….Randy B.

2022-04-21I have a few cooks holsters I used to buy them at my local gun store. They no longer carry them so this is the first time Ive ordered direct from Cooks. The website stated a 8 to 10 week lead time. I got my holster in 8 weeks and 3 days. Its the same fit and quality that Ive enjoyed from my very first one which Ive been using daily for years. I have a lot of guns and a drawer full of holsters made by several different manufacturers. But my favorites are my Cooks. Thank you again for another great holster!!!

2022-08-13Awful customer service. Ordered April 2022, emailed since July 2022 and now it’s august 2022. Zero response and I’ve contacted in FOUR different ways. Glad i used PayPal for payment because I’ve got an automatic refund. 8-10 week turnaround and we are on month 4 and zero communication. We moved to Arizona days after my order and i was trying to give a local business from where we grew up, some business. I would recommend, don’t bother.

2022-07-18I understand being short staffed or having fulfillment issues and that’s why i accepted the 8-10 week quote for delivery. It’s now 12 weeks and still waiting with no estimated time provided after contacting business. Status changed from “awaiting fulfillment” to “in production” after contacting them and I’m sure that’s only to make me feel better.

Sent email to Cooks a couple weeks ago to get an update, but have never received a response.UPDATE: After 13 weeks, status was changed to in production. Going on 19 weeks, and my order is still in production (how fn long does it take to cut/bend a piece of plastic for a trigger guard?). I sent an email to Cooks a couple weeks ago to get an update, but like before, have not received a response.UPDATE: After nearly 20 weeks, I finally received the product I ordered.So, why the 1-star review? Not because the product is flawed in any way. No, it has to do with customer service and Cooks failure to be honest with its customers.When I ordered, lead time was 6 weeks. Cooks gladly took my money, and I was willing to wait what I felt was a reasonable amount of time. Its when they failed to respond to emails requesting order status that got them a 1-star. You had my money, so I guess I just became not that important.Even today, as I complete this review, the lead time is 8-10 weeks on their website. But my product took 13 weeks of nothing, 6 weeks in production, and almost 20 weeks until final delivery.I have purchased SEVERAL products from Cooks in the past, but this order REALLY made me think I might not want to do business with them in the future. Your mileage may vary.

2022-08-09I’d give less stars if possible. I ordered a basic badge holder back in April, obviously lead time was about 8 weeks. I email them at about 11 weeks after no update and get told that they are understaffed which I understand, and that my item would ship at the end of June. It’s August 9th, still no update. I’ve called and emailed multiple times but I never get an answer. I don’t usually leave reviews, I am as understanding as they come but this company’s customer service is ridiculously horrible and at this point I just want my money back.

2022-05-06You guys will not even answer my emails now. You gave me a lead time of 8-10 weeks which I misunderstood...thats not a problem. But you told me I could pay extra and have it expedited and that it would ship within a week. Two weeks later you take my money and wont respond back to me. Even if you couldnt ship it out as promised an email stating so would go a long way. Now I just want the product now or all my money back.
