We ordered the waygu burger and fries, it took 30 minutes to get our food. The burger was overcooked and dry, the manager did offer to replace it or offer something else. The prices were moderately high. The price for the Waygu burger and fries $32. Maybe try it another time and order something else.
Wonderful service!! Absolutely top notch. That alone was worth it. My husband raved about his lamb chops but my Delmonico ribeye was extremely chewy and difficult to eat (though it was a perfect medium rare). Our side dishes (mushrooms and green beans) were delicious. We cant wait to go back and try more..
The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was over the top amazing. We had the oysters and green tomatoe appetizers which were awesome. The steaks were cooked exactly to our request and tasted amazing and were high quality. You could almost cut with a butter knife. The right amount of tenderness but enough chew you know you have a great steak seasoned just right. All the sides we chose were fantastic. We are definitely coming back.
Edit* the first visit was not the greatest, but the owner reached out and went above and beyond to try to make it right. I do feel that he cares about his business and the people that visit the restaurant. Mr. Vincent, thank you so much for your generosity. Im truly grateful for everything you did for us. Thank you so much for being so willing and ready to help.
Were do I start? 1st our server name was Avalon & she was fantastic. Very personable & easy on the eyes. Drinks & appetizers were quick & delicious. The main courses (5 family members) were not only visibly appealing but a absoluting the most delicious meals we have ever eaten. Matt ordered the lamb, (delicious) Nath ordered the salmon, (tender) my Princess ordered the Chilean sea bass, she cleaned her plate, l had a pork chop (pic included). Moist & cooked 2 perfection. Some kind of semi-sweet sauce that was 2 die 4. Drinks, meal & desert 4 all. Avalons care & excellent meals will have us returning soon. Need 2 fatten up the coffers 1st.
After a recommendation and reading reviews we visited here for my wifes birthday. Arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress (Avalon) recommended the bourbon glazed bacon appetizer which arrived almost immediately and was the perfect sweet and salty meat balance. We split a porterhouse with lobster tails and a baked potato. All were fantastic. Perfectly cooked and juicy. I love how they perfectly cut the meat away from the T bone into slices only an OCD person would respect. The service from Avalon was excellent where we didnt wait long on things but never felt rushed. Some reviews said the restaurant is noisy and it is but it didnt bother my wife and 8 year old. Its more a background noise. We had no problem communicating at our table. You can tell people here are enjoying a meal and fun together. This was a much more expensive meal than we normally do but with it being a birthday we justified it. Last time we spent this much was her birthday last year where we spent a little more at another steakhouse. We left there thinking it was good but not worth the price. We both agreed this was expensive but the meal and experience were worth it and we will return.
All I can say is, wow! My brother and I ended up here on accident. The 4 other places we chose in Atlanta to eat at were closed. Im so happy we ended up at Cotton Calf instead!! Everything was phenomenal! We could cut the filet mignon with a spoon it was so tender. I havent had such an all around amazing dining experience in quite a while. Service was over the top. Its like our server could read our minds and brought us stuff before we ever had to ask for it. The manager and the Chef were out touching every single table to ensure nothing but perfection for every guest. I cannot recommend Cotton Calf Kitchen enough!!!
Great place to eat. Ordered the Charcuterie plate as appetizer and was very good. I had the Chicken my husband had the Wagyu and my granddaughter the filet. Everything was cooked as requested. Asparagus, baked potato, and mashed potatoes as sides. Coconut Cake for dessert.
Heard good things so we checked it out. I got the prime dry aged delomico, lobster bisque, tuna poke. Service was good, our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. I only gave 4 stars due to all the food being under seasoned. The portion on the lobster bisque was huge, wish they offered a cup option. Bisque could’ve use some crème fraiche or some other garnish. Steak was cooked nicely, but some flakey salt would’ve been nice. Poke, with all of that avocado, needed salt too. I’d go back though. Nice place.
Absolutely delicious meal in a upscale setting. This is an ideal spot for a special occasion meal. Great selection of entrees. Sides are al-a-cart but can be shared with 2-3 people. Nice wines with a great bar and drink preparation. Service was impeccable. Nice private area in the back for occasions. A little hard to find and parking could be an issue but do not let that discourage you. This one the finest dinners I have had outside downtown Atlanta.
Was NOT worth the money. My husband and I used to love The Cotton Calf and recommended all of our friends. But after our last experience, we will never go back and we will NEVER recommend. We went on a double date with our friends and had the worst experience. Our service was very slow - our waiter spilled my friends glass of champagne on the table and plates. He did offer to comp the champagne and got her a new glass, but he grabbed the plates so quickly that the champagne spilled all over my husbands shoulder. He also didnt comp the correct drink, so my friends ended up having to pay for the champagne anyways. All of our steaks were incredibly disappointing. We all ordered filets, but they were all overcooked and did not taste right. We new that the kitchen was busy and our waiter might have been overwhelmed, so we did not complain to him. We decided we would just send a polite email about our food when we got home. Our server had to redo our checks three times and eventually we ended up just letting it go and had to Venmo our friends $35 to fix the mistakes. Our server packed up our food for us, but when we got home and opened up our boxes, he had mixed up all of our food.My husband ordered the crab dip and it had turned blue after only having it in the fridge for 24 hours. My friends call Vincent about their experience first and he took care of them really well. He refunded them and gave them $200 in giftcards, Our friends let him know that we were also disappointed with our experience and that would be reaching out as well. Vincent was not kind to us at all. He acted as if we were a bother and an inconvenience. We were very polite, but he was argumentative. He accused us of lying about the glass of champagne spilling on my husband, was not apologetic at all, and did not refund us our entire check like he did our friends. He also did not include gift cards (which is fine we didnt ask for any, but it is odd that he was so kind to our friends and not us).If Vincent had been kind and apologetic, we probably would have given The Cotton Calf another shot. But after the way he treated us over the phone, we will not be going back. I dont usually leave reviews, but I felt this was necessary after the way I felt after speaking to him.
My husband and I were the friends referenced in the review by Natalie Adolphson, and she did not embellish anything in her review. We all had the exact same concerns and when I spoke with Vincent about our experience he was very polite and quick to rectify the situation. However when Natalie Adolphson tried to reach out he continued to not return her phone calls or if they did speak he would try to brush her off. I am appalled at the treatment they have received and the lack of professionalism on his end. He has now gone so far as to block her on Facebook after his responses have been shared and made more public. Commenting how he did on her review should be a red flag to everyone. We will not be going back there.
Food is very good here. Smaller restaurant but I think it goes great with the area its located in. The steaks are great and the sides are as well. I got the bone in filet which was very good. All in all this is a great place for a date or to enjoy with friends or family. Prices are fair. Will def return. ***2nd visit the wife and I got the porterhouse for two with added crab oscar. Fantastic. The jalepeno cream corn is fantastic. The oysters were awesome as well and so was the tuna ahi. Love this place. If you enjoyed this review please click the like button.
One of the best dining experiences Ive ever had. I was a little concerned when my party said they wanted to go here, because I knew it would be pricey and perhaps I would be disappointed after paying that much.Well my meal was $150 for one person and it was worth every penny.Everything is al a carte so we shared three appetizers and three sides to go with the steaks we ordered. The bacon and the duck eggs rolls were incredible. Everything I tasted was better than the last. The creamed corn and spinach were unbelievable. The Delmonico steak had a satisfiying char (not burnt) on the outside and was cooked to a medium rare perfection inside. After tasting how great everything was, I had to have dessert and I wasnt disappointed with the key lime pie because it was the best Ive ever had.The service was outstanding and so were the cocktails. If you live in the area you should treat yourself at least once to the Cotton Calf simply because you owe it to yourself.
The food and staff here were fantastic! We started with the jumbo lump crab cake. It was quite possibly the best crab cake Ive had. I ordered the Delmonico Ribeye and my wife ordered the bone in filet. Both steaks were flavored very well. The creamed spinach was anything short of amazing. The mashed potatoes were subpar however. The crime brûlée was very good. Overall great food and service!
This was my first time eating here... Was suggested by a friend of mine who also owns a restaurant... I have to say... The food was absolutely amazing... The setting was intimate... The customer service was perfect... The food is pricey which I didnt have a problem with after receiving everything I mentioned above... Ill definitely be returning.
They are the best. From the food to the wine you are going to enjoy every moment. Throw a staff that is incredible in that mix and you get a dining experience you will return for often. We sat in the bar area for the first time upon our last visit and Nicole made sure we had the most perfect evening. Very knowledgeable in regards to the menu and the bar selections and made several suggestions to items we may enjoy. That alone makes you feel comfortable and taken care of. Then they deliver the goodness the entire time you are there. This is the spot to go in Braselton. If you have not you are missing out on everything you have been looking for.
Quite literally some of the best food and service Ive ever received at a restaurant. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the drinks were fabulous, and dessert was equally as splendid. While you will pay a pretty penny to dine at this establishment its well worth it if youre looking for delicious food with great service in a very nice atmosphere.
I celebrated my birthday at this amazing restaurant today. From the friendly manager to Richard, who was my waiter and who did a phenomenal job, to the delicious food, my experience was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was so inviting. I will visit again, cant wait!
I love the style of the place and the food tasted great. However, I had problems with my service. I went to the bar last Saturday night and there were two bartenders. The brunette served us most of the time. Not sure what I could have done to deserve this treatment but she acted like she didn’t want to serve me and was very friendly to the person I was with. She even SCOWLED when I asked to pay for the check. My dinner guest even commented, how embarrassing. Worst service experience I’ve ever had. If I go back (not likely) I will be sitting at a table instead of the bar. Much too pricey a place to have your service not be exceptional.
This place is amazing! First time here and I cant wait to come back. The inside is so beautiful and love the open kitchen. They even have outdoor seating with an incredible view. The bathroom was even amazing! Rich was our server and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was attentive and provided a create experience. The duck egg rolls were wonderful as well as everything else! Best part about our visit, picture with Matt Ryan!! Cant wait to visit again and enjoy an outdoor visit!
We delayed trying this place because of the expense and finally decided to try Cotton Calf. We wished we had gone earlier! The food was amazingly and the service is superb. It is a treat that is worth the money and an added bonus that you don’t need to drive to Atlanta!
So disappointed. Was expecting much higher quality of food considering their exorbitant pricing. Tomahawk steak ($105 a la carte) was dry and overcooked. Asked for medium-rare and received medium-well. And that wasnt the only steak overcooked. Manager was apologetic, tried to make at least one steak right and did discount a good part of our meal. But a restaurant claiming to be of this caliber, should have chefs that can grill a steak.
We live not far from this restaurant. We have only been here 3 or 4 times because we have always been underwhelmed by the food. We love Frankies and Chops but have never been impressed here. Tonight, on a Friday night my wife and I decided to go sit in the bar. We walked up at 8:20 and asked the hostess if we could sit in the bar, because the place was half empty and there were about 4 people in the bar. She had to ask the manager, and he said, No way, we still have 61 people coming tonight. We said even in the bar? Yes. So we walked across the street to Jacks Local Station and had great service with a full restaurant. We walked back to our car and saw an almost empty restaurant at Cotton Calf. If you dont have staff, just tell us. Dont give us some lame story about how 61 more people are coming way out in the suburbs! This is not the city!
Great restaurant, beautiful decor and outside heated patio. Decided to go based on high reviews alone and wanted a good steak. Steak was slightly overcooked, but still good and tender. Sauted spinach, potatoes, burger, and bacon appetizer were all pleasing for me and my guest. Vincent, the owner made sure to welcome us. Nice customer service 👍. Definitely support and check it out.
Went to Cotton Calf Kitchen with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. We had a FABULOUS time! We sat outside and Derrick the manager lit the fireplace for us. Lauren was our server and was engaging and attentive. The food was GREAT. We had the crab appetizer, the Cajun rib-eye steak and mashed potatoes. We had such a good time we are thinking about driving back to Braselton just to go to Cotton Calf Kitchen! Thank you to Derrick and Lauren for making our dinner so memorable!
The food is over priced. Had to eat outside...awful insects, bees and flies...there should have been allowances considering prices. The service was not that great. I guess because we had no reservations. I had the Cajun Ribeye and truffle fries awesome! I also the grilled pineapple margarita that was A ++++. Next time I will make reservations but it will be a long while.
Who needs to drive to Atlanta for a good steak when you have Cotton Calf Kitchen in Braselton! We have been going to this awesome resturant for a few years. We decided decided to celebrate my wifes birthday last Friday. I requested the cool half curved booth. My wife and I showed up and got seated. They put the birthday cake in the back. then my son and fiancé showed up. Julia our server came over and took the drink order and we ordered the incredible Charcuterie board. I ordered a steak and my son ordered the House Special Pork Chop. Everything was amazing but what made it was the incredible service form Julia. Julia never missed anything and I think she brought me 5 Sweet Teas. She was so professional and everything was exactly as ordered. Then after all that she brought out the cake on a platter we brought and cut it and served us all a slice. Thanks Cotton Calf for an awesome Birthday dinner but also thanks for having such great servers like Julia!
The food is absolutely top shelf. We chose to visit for Sunday brunch. Sampled pancakes, shrimp and grits, steak and eggs and the delmonico rib eye. All were superb. Our server/hosts were appropriately attentive, professional and very personable. Their insight to the menu was very helpful. Atmosphere was casual, open and comfortable. Well return soon.
Had an overall great experience here, the atmosphere was comfortable and clean, our waiter was great, but I was expecting more from the food because of how expensive it was. I ordered the ribeye with a side of potatoes and a side of mushrooms. The cut of steak was cooked fitting to my order (medium rare) but very chewy and the flavor was subpar and very watery. The potatoes were a little hard and, again, bland in flavor.Since its a bit of a drive for me, I probably wont come back here again soon, but it is a very good restaurant if you dont mind the price.
Very excited to try this restaurant. It started off immediately on a bad note when we went to sit at the bar and were told we needed a reservation for bar seats. ?????? Since when do you need a reservation for the bar? Okay well this place must be incredible.. not quite. For a restaurant that requires reservations as they do and the airs they put on, there was a lot of flies in the restaurant. I mean a lot. Second, the menu and the staff make a big deal about the temperature of your meat. We ordered ours medium. Explained to be slightly charred outside with a warm pink center. It came out medium rare. Hmmm. Its a pricy menu and I will say the meal was good but not $58 for a steak that is undercooked good. Places like this just don’t get it. Also, last note. It lacked atmosphere. Needs music, fans at doors to keep out flies and an expediter.
Great atmosphere and ambiance. Dinner starts at 5 pm for full menu we came from out of town and got their at 4pm, we were told apps and salads only from 4-5 and no dining room seating, this info was not on their website. We made the stop off the highway as it was highly recommend by a friend. We asked if we could order off the main menu and the hostess told us flat out no. However, when the kind waitress came over we explained and she inquired about what our order would be and asked the chef. She then came back with great news and a list of what they could make.We loved the food and quality of care minus the host who seemed young and inexperienced. Would recommend the fried green tomatoes, thick cut bacon, pork chop. Steaks were also delicious we got a ribeye and a filet.
Best experience I have had in a while. Our server (Nathan) made our night so special and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was AMAZING! We ordered the sea bass which was great and also the Cajun Ribeye which was out of this world. It was our anniversary so I really appreciate them taking the time to make our night special. I will definitely be returning. I heard they have great brunch too :)
I seem to be the opposite, but I was not impressed by the restaurant. It was cold to me both in atmosphere & temperature. We said at a table in the main floor near the doors. The main courses and the sides were good but not equal to the pricing. The meals were cooked according to our request. This place charges according to an upscale midtown/Buckhead Restaurant but there service and food do not meet that level. This place does not meet the standards of such as Bones or McKendricks yet they seem to value their pricing at that level. The people were friendly, we were seated promptly and our waitress Destiny did an outstanding job. It was a nice place to visit but will be off my radar for the future.
Reflecting on a birthday dinner on July 23. On such a special occasion, the experience was far from good. This place used to be a hit for intimate superb dining as weve come to celebrate last, 2019, year. Not sure if Covid affected this restaurant services, but one cant blame everything on the pandemic when a high reputation together with pricing remains. Weve ordered a sea bass fish with potatoes as a side. Blend taste is an understatement. Fish was in a light batter but almost tasteless except for the capers that were salty and didnt even compliment the fish. Potatoes virtually didnt have a flavor to it and even little onions that were a part of the dish didnt taste like onions. My bf and I ordered the same dish, thus it cant be blamed simply on ones taste preference. Also, while a shift manager was stopping by to check on other tables of 4 or more to see how the dinner was, she avoided ours while passing us maybe 10 times ignoring as we were bluntly looked her in the eye, she just lowered her head as she was passing us (we were seating across the bar but, I guess, we wouldnt meet a higher bill level as other bigger tables would). Back to the food which was the main disappointment, for spending around $170 I would expect to be wowed and the quality of our food was worth maybe $40-$50 at the most at a local place. And the last thing, most restaurants from upscale to casual would bring a little complimentary dessert for the birthday occasion; here, the waitress just asked if we wanted to buy a dessert to celebrate. Just overall experience was very disappointing especially from a restaurant with such a used-to-be high reputation.
I love the Cotton Calf. Im so grateful for their presence in downtown Braselton! I love the atmosphere, the service and the food is usually great! I ordered the Shrimp and Grits for Brunch on Sunday but was very un-impressed. The shrimp were quite large and very tough...hard to cut with a steak knife, to be honest...possibly very over cooked? Im not sure, but overall the dish was just meh. Ill definitely come back, I just wont repeat order the Shrimp and Grits.
Service was top notch, atmosphere was excellent, but the steak was only average. Sides were excellent. The steaks were not what I expected at Buckhead prices. Maybe it was just a bad night, I will try it again. To follow Up, I was contacted by the restaurant via email after my review. The manager was very professional and offered to refund a portion of my dinner tab for the evening. We later agreed upon a gift card for the restaurant so I could give them a second chance which I am eager to do. I have raised the rating to four stars for the simple fact that this manager went over and above the norm to make the customer happy, a forgotten part of most business plans. Thanks Vince.
Came here on a Thursday night for dinner. The food is pricy, but worth it. Service was excellent. I had a fillet mignon and she had the lamb. Sides are a la carte and we chose the truffle fires and creamed spinach. Im not one for creamed spinach, but this creamed spinach almost made me cream my pants it was so good. Had a southwest taste to it. Server was extra nice and very knowledgeable about the menu and all things grilled meat related.
Nice enough place. Food was okay, not worth the price and most appetizers were reheated. Steak was severely under seasoned. Such expensive cuts of beef mean nothing if not properly treated with simple salt and pepper and allowed to rest. Drinks were exceptional and generous on the pours, much appreciated. Worth a stop in for dinner, just make sure you scrutinize and make sure you are getting what you are paying for.
ABSOLUTELY the best food and hospitality in the state. Not only do we leave full and satisfied we leave with smile from the wonderful staff. To say Derrick Turner, along with the other managers staff go ABOVE AND BEYOND is an understatement. Just their wonderful management skills and great staff keeps us coming back. The out of this world quality and taste of their food help too 😎
We sat outdoors given concerns about the virus, and it was perfectly lovely. The service was great -- our server was attentive and conscious of efforts to be cautious because of the virus. The food was delicious! Presentation, temperature and taste were all really good. I had the crab cakes, and they were tasty with lots of crab and no real breading. We shared several sides that were all very good. I cant wait to return!
Spectacular everytime Ive eaten there. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Host stand staff arent quite as personable but Im there for the FOOD. Their sides and meats have not once disappointed. Worth every cent. Make reservations far in advance, for sure. And the brussel sprouts are heavenly bombs of mouth deliciousness.
Horrible customer service. Beautiful ambiance and menu looks devine but I booked a reservation for a hair salon October 20th for a party of 10....they lost my reservation...I get accidents happen but there was absolutely no resolve...just oh well...so Ill never be back.
We enjoyed a special dinner here while staying at Chateau Elan. I read mediocre reviews of the steakhouse at the Inn whereas Cotton Calf had amazing reviews. The food did not disappoint! We enjoyed the crab cake appetizer and a Caesar salad. My husband had the filet, and I had the bacon wrapped scallops. Every dish had a wonderful flavor. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly. All the flavors of the scallop dish went wonderfully together. The scallops came with a huge portion of risotto, so much that my husband had to help me finish it. We completed the meal with French press coffee and a creme brûlée. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and this is a great place for a special occasion.
Worst restaurant I have ever dealt with. Lost a reservation that that had been made months in advance for a large work Christmas party. Then the GM acted like it was our fault and did nothing to try and fix the wrong doing. To top it off the owner called my wife and spoke down to her like she was beneath him.
My husband and I had a great experience here for date night. We sat outside by the fire and enjoyed the beautiful weather along with amazing food! The service was incredible and she did an outstanding job taking care of us. My salmon was delicious and the green beans and fries did not disappoint! Thank you!
Absolutely amazing. My wife and I moved into the area and wanted to try out some new food. We chose the Cotton Calf Kitchen for the high reviews and we certainly don’t regret it. We had their brunch Wagyu burger, crab cake Benedict and pancakes. Unbelievable taste. The pancakes were the softest I’ve ever eaten, the burger was melt in your mouth and the crab cake Benedict was absolute perfection. Large portion sizes too! Great value for the price. The owners were also there and were very nice and friendly and their staff was very friendly too. So kind. Thank you for the 5 star experience!
Good Quality and great atmosphere. This restaurant has good food, good service and a very nice atmosphere. I read some of the reviews that compare their prices and quality to other restaurants and I felt is justified but not fair. Let’s put things into perspective. This is Braselton not Atlanta, Miami, New York or Vegas. So if you ask me for small town in Georgia the quality and food are great. The prices are high? Yes, but I don’t think because you are in a small town other than rent there is no reason to have lower prices when quality food has a higher cost. The service was amazing, we had Brian and he was super nice and efficient. All his recommendations were great and he always checked on us to make sure we had everything that was needed. I will rate this restaurant with 5 stars because if you ask me it delivers a good product for a town that has two good restaurants and nothing else. The only thing that bother me was that we did not get a table inside the restaurant. We arrived at 4:30 PM as we skipped lunch, and they said they were fully booked after 5:30 and could not accommodate us at a regular table. They were courteous enough to give us a bar table and provided us with great service. We were done by 6:00 PM but there were plenty of empty tables by the time we had finished. I understood we were not regulars but I could not figure out why they did not take the risk to give us a table. I don’t feel is fair to penalize them for this issue but one that needs to be told. If you are in Braselton or staying at Chateu Elan this is a good get away.
The food was amazing! Best meal in forever. The shrimp cocktail was unreal, the chopped salad to die for, the steak perfectly cooked. Our sides of roasted cauliflower, layered and complex, and the grilled asparagus was perfect. Came back again the next night, and ordered totally different food. Poke was the bomb. The bread was unreal with an amazing butter. The heirloom salad with walnuts was addictive. The staff was incredible. Highly recommend this place!
The dinner here is fantastic! We did go for brunch and were very disappointed in the preparation of our food for the $100 price point we paid. (very overcooked, poached eggs that were hard boiled, rare steak that had no pink to it, etc), but this place still gets 5 stars because dinner is just that good! Go for dinner, skip the brunch!
We hosted a rehearsal dinner here for my sons wedding, and had an absolutely amazing experience! Everything was so well done, and the staff was super helpful and accommodating. The food was amazing as well, all the way from the appetizers to the main course to the desserts. I really cant recommend this place highly enough.I meant to write this review earlier, but thanks for a memorable evening!
I chose two stars only for the lack of quality of the food. The service was absolutely spectacular. This was a Mothers Day meal for four and we all left expecting so much more around the quality of what we received. The appetizers were good, but the main dishes (steaks and lamb chops) left us asking...whats so special? The steaks had zero flavor from the cooking, besides the extreme burnt taste from where the outsides of the steaks were over charred (it was severe). We all had to ask for salt and pepper to give the steaks some flavor. My wife had the lamb chops and experienced the same, but also received very small portions. Finally, I dont think we missed it, but the menu never advised that the sides were family style, maybe it is known, but for first timers, we had no clue until we ordered. Overall, very disappointed in the lack of quality of we received compared to the price paid. Very unlikely that we will return.
We ate at the Cotton Calf last night for the first time, and everything was outstanding. My daughter and her fiance had eaten there a couple of times previously and had highly recommended it, and it didnt disappoint. The food was excellent, and the service was great.I would also say that during the current pandemic situation, of all the places Ive eaten, The Cotton Calf was the only place that I can say truly exceeded any safety precautions I could think of. While some places have done a good job at this, The Cotton Calf just took it to another level. They used disposable paper menus, silverware was sterilized and sealed in plastic, and all employees wore masks and gloves at all times. We all felt completely safe and appreciated the extra efforts they went through to ensure their customers (and their employees) safety .We will definitely be going back.
WOW. What an amazing meal. The server was knowledgeable, friendly and great attention to details.Could not have had a better meal. They cooked our steaks perfectly, side dishes were delicious and plentiful. The appetizers that were suggested were also excellent. And the crime brûlée was to die for.
Before I write a review, I will frequently read the other reviews written..especially the low ratings one before I add my 2 cents. The only thing that I could possibly agree with in the 1 star ratings is that perhaps some the the younger staff could possibly have an attitude and roll their eyes at some things, but otherwise the serving staff were excellent including the young lady at the front desk who greeted me and my friends who were clearly under-dressed for this relatively high end restaurant catering to an affluent crowd. If our crowd had descended on a similar style restaurant in my home town of Huntsville, we would have been greeted with contempt and attitude. With late notice, we got reservations at the bar for 8 people....we would not have chosen a different place sit there...and they were busy.Service was quick...cocktails were as ordered. Everyone was happy with their meals. I ordered a medium-rare ribeye from their menu which described exactly how a medium-rare steak would look like, and it came out EXACTLY as described...something that frequently does not happen at nice steak houses...in my experience.I did not look at the prices when I ordered dinner and was expecting to pay a premium, but I did not.I wish we had something like this back home.
My husband and I have eaten here several times for dinner and just this past Sunday we had brunch there. The service and food have been wonderful each and every time. Yes, its pricey but the servings are large and well worth it. The staff is friendly and helpful when trying to pick something from the menu....sometimes its so hard to decide. Its a place meant to enjoy....so slow down your pace...relax and enjoy the experience.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. The food was delicious. Pricey, but not so much for this type of restaurant. Portions were generous. We didnt leave hungry or feeling like we didnt get our monies worth. Service was very good. Ambiance was good. Aucustics were good. Had no problem hearing and understanding each other.I would go back again.
Service was good as was the atmosphere. Steak was tough as nails and Chilean Sea Bass was breaded for some unknown reason. It kinda tasted like fish and chips. Lyonnaise potatoes were over cooked and diced, which is wrong. Dinner rolls had clearly been reheated and were hard as a rock. Rather large restaurant to have only 1 bathroom, unisex, so everyone waits (which is only fair I guess). Given the current climate my wife and I just wanted to support a local restaurant, but we certainly couldve spent $200, plus tip, better somewhere else. We lied when they asked how everything was because they were really trying hard.
When we walked in we didn’t have a reservation. We were seated at a lowered counter bar area. It was 15 minutes when a waiter asked me what can I help you with. I stated it would be nice to have a menu if that’s ok. Finally We ordered the ahi tuna, lobster bisque, and the oysters as starters. The ahi tuna was average, Tuna was mixed with avocado. No cilantro, no seaweed salad, no cucumber. The lobster bisque had zero texture. It was as liquid as water, it also tasted overly salted. The oysters were fresh and delicious. I ordered the Cajun steak that came out burned black. All I tasted was charcoal and no Cajun flavour. I also had to pay extra for a side of a baked potato. My wife ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and risotto. The risotto seamed a little undone due to some hard pieces of rice. We paid $204 with tip. The food is way over priced and way too many people saying that the food is so amazing, I went out there to see the hype and didn’t find anything special. What I did find awfully unique was the bomb and fireworks explosion about an hour after the restaurant luckily in my personal lavatory. Only will I return for the oysters!
Cotton Calf was amazing.. it was like being in Hells Kitchen without all the drama..food and drinks was amazing. I sat directly across from the kitchen and the most refreshing thing was the level of cleanliness that was displayed.. the chef along with the wait staff constantly changing gloves. All of the seal cutlery was amazing. It was a great experience. If you are in the area this is a must have restaurant..
I ordered my steak med-rare and it came to the table beyond well done and tough as shoe leather. The staff offered to replace it and the second was still not cooked correctly. I was offered a dessert as a consolation, which was delicious but was not the reason I came. The staff was great; however the steak was disappointing especially given the price of the meal. There are better options for steak in the Braselton area like Marc, Jack’s, or Longhorn; especially given the steep prices at the Cotton Calf.
Absolutely wonderful! Excellent customer service and the food was delicious. My fiance said it was the best steak he ever had!The ambiance was beautiful. Perfect atmosphere for a date, birthday, promotion celebration, or group of friends to get together. The drinks were nice and strong, not watered down. Great place. We will be going back.
My husband and I celebrated our 23rd Anniversary here. It was the most amazing experience we have ever had eating out. Our server, Richard, was excellent. The food was delicious. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special place to celebrate any occasion.
Second time going. Overall the food is good. Steaks and lamb were great! Manager was awesome and the wait staff is great! Only major complaint... is offer A1 steak sauce ... not just the house made steak sauce 😖 I always taste a house made steak sauce before ordering my steak. This one taste like a cross between A1 and bbq sauce ... it’s nasty! I wouldn’t order the steak because of this. But thankfully the server looked and found us the last of the A1 that was left over after making the house made sauce! Thank God! Definitely will be going back! Love the atmosphere, location and outdoor dining area
Great food and service. I and a friend took my wife Rosanna here to celebrate her birthday. She selected the surf and turf. The steak and lobster were cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the wild Alaskan Salmon. They have a good selection of a la carte side dishes. We ordered a creme brulee for dessert. It was was very creamy and wonderful as a light dessert. Our server, Cat was fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and was responsive to our friends request for a gluten free meal. We will be returning to try their brunch. Thanks for a great dinner!
Ive been a handful of times and have yet to have had a bad meal. Staff has always been nice and accommodating. Sides are generous portions and meant to be shared- family style. I would not consider this a kid friendly place, though kids are allowed. Would recommend to family and friends. Expect to spend a little more than usual on dinner, but worth it.
WOW!! This place really stepped up there game. Food was amazing, love the new menu. They are very covid safe, conscious about spacing, and checking temperatures at the door. Every dish our party had was on point with service, prevention, and taste. Well worth the $$$$..
This was by far one of the best dining experiences I have had, much less in the NE Ga area. This restaurant is beautiful, not that big and has a very relaxed atmosphere. The host staff were very pleasant, and our waiter, Rodney, was exceptional. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and we couldnt think of a single complaint. The food was absolutely fantastic and their bartender makes great cocktails. I recommend the Japanese Old Fashioned. I really cannot say enough about how great it truly was. Two pieces of advice: dress at least business casual, and keep in mind they are a small place so they have a single bathroom.
OMG this has to be one of my top 5 favorite restaurants now! Treated my fiancé, mom and her boyfriend to a nice dinner after going to Chateau Elan for a wine tasting and this was the perfect way to end the night. Our wiater Nicholas was top tier and nothing less than excellent.
Get ready to drop some money here, however, every penny is worth it. This place has fantastic steaks and sides! Extremely helpful staff too, even waiters that werent assigned to our table engaged in conversation and suggested things for us. Its a great place for a celebration dinner with a great atmosphere. We even had plenty of leftovers so the portions are pretty great. Overall I highly suggest Cotton Calf Kitchen for any occasion.
We consider ourselves steakhouse gurus and this place is good but not great. I myself have worked in fine steakhouse restaurants so trust me I know quality and know what I am talking about. Regionally it’s great for most people but if you are looking for a top notch steakhouse than this is not the place for you. The pricing of the food compares to pricing within Atlanta and to us you get a better product in the city. We started with the colossal shrimp and unfortunately it was over cooked and not worth the money. I got the bone in filet and unfortunately it was over cooked mostly. If the prices were lower, we might come back. We would have given it 2 stars but the service was excellent and the wine selection was great.
Really enjoyed our kid free date night here. The server was one of the best Ive had. They had delicious coffee, and their steaks were cooked perfectly and very tasty. It is on the pricey side so definitely not a regular dining place for me, but I would recommend it for special occasions
We have had dinner as well as Sunday brunch. Our experience was excellent both times. The service was SUPERB both times. Dinner is expensive but no worse than someplace like Ruth Chris. Love the open kitchen! The Sunday brunch was AMAZING!!! We thoroughly enjoyed it. The omelets were excellent as was the service. We have eaten at Ruth Chris/Buckhead and thought the food was not good and the service was terrible. With Cotton Calf in our own backyard, we will definitely go back.
Decided at the last minute on Valentines Day to go there for lunch.Yeah I know. Typical guy thing. We were expecting it to be busy and we were right. All the main dining room tables were reserved but they have about 10 tables that are 1st come. I had the Southwest Burger and blue cheese chips and she had the Salmon BLT. Both sandwiches were delicious and cooked perfectly. Ask for a side of lemon and Tabasco sauce for the salmon and thank me later. P.S. They only do lunch on Friday and Saturday from 11 - 3. Enjoy.
Went on a Friday at lunch after a doctors appointment in Braselton. It is a cool place, my wife had a glass of wine ,I had a cocktail. I think we got them on some sort of happy hour price. The lunch menu does not have many options even fewer if you are a vegetarian as my wife is. She found a salad that seemed okay and I had the salmon burger which was fishy and gross. Their homemade potato chips are tasteless. While it is a cool place the steaks are reeaally expensive. I wouldnt go back, there is far better less expensive food in Athens. We should have waited to eat until we got back to town.
I had lobster bisque soup and the scallop entree for dinner 10/16. Everything tasted fine but I started getting sick even before I left the restaurant. It’s 2:30 am and I haven’t slept due to running to the restroom. I would recommend sticking with the steaks if dining here. The 1-star rating is food only. Ambiance and wait staff were ++.I would like to add that I have spoken to the restaurant manager and will be giving the Cotton Calf a second chance.
Nice atmosphere but high cost. This place is very sophisticated- excellent and attentive waitstaff. The seabass was the best Ive ever had! The food here is definitely not dietetic. Lots of creamed corn, buttery mashed potatoes, etc. Its good for a romantic night out or a work dinner. Even a glass of wine with a lobster bisque will set you back close to $40. I like the place, but its hard to justify the cost... I mean this isnt groundbreaking cuisine! Its steak and potatoes.
Absolutely one of the BEST STEAK RESTAURANTS IN GA! The staff, to include Manager Derrick and Waiter Joel are TOP NOTCH; with their recommendations and many check ins during the celebration for my husbands birthday and friends visiting from NJ. The food is so so good and many varieties. Restaurant was recommended to me and I highly recommend to others, you will not be disappointed!
Went here for the first time... Needless to say it will never be my last. The food here is phenomenal. The staff cater to you. If you have a question about what a dish is theyre quick with an answer and very knowledgeable. I would suggest anyone in town or out-of-town to go by and eat at this place. You will not be disappointed. The steaks are mouthwatering and they cook it exactly how you want. There is not a thing on the menu that disappoints.
Birthday dinner for my wife. Every aspect was 5 Stars. Matt, our waiter was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We had a wonderful Heirloom tomato salad, Filet mignon, roasted cauliflower and mashed potatoes. Each side is more than enough for two people and delicious. We ate on the patio and it was very relaxing with no let down in excellent service. My Birthday girl ended her meal with Cream Brulee, her favorite dessert, like the rest of the meal it was excellant.
What a gem we stumbled upon!!! My partners mom just moved into the area and we came up to take her to dinner. Not wanting the same old chain restaurant offerings that are often the only choices in smaller areas, we went in search of a great steakhouse, and thats how we found Cotton Calf Kitchen! We are already in discussion about having our family holiday dinner there. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were generous. Topping off our wonderful experience was the specialized service we received from Vincent Price, the GM and co-owner. Vincent was extremely gracious, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing first experience. We will definitely be back again and again!!
This is the best place. The steaks are worth the money. Ive been to other top steak places but this one best ever. I highly suggest you take your wife or girlfriend to this place. It is very special. The steaks are aged to be perfect. The cheapest is $49. The most expensive is $95. I had the $49 ribeye and it was the best steak Ive ever had. My husband took me for our wedding anniversary. The side orders are great and for two people. Dont miss out on this place
Its a great place to have a great experience. Staff and service awesome with respectful, yet personable interactions (Rodney a consumate professional). Dress is upscale casual. My steak had a bit too much char for my personal preference, but still one of the best steaks Ive had. Only problem I had was selecting a reasonable number of sides to go with my meal, they all sound wonderful and the ones selected did not disappoint.
This is a restaurant that charges for a high end product and doesnt quite deliver it. My wife and I decided to give them a try this previous weekend.I had what I was told was their most popular cut, the Delmonico, and my wife had their Petite Filet. I added a surf option to my order, the scallops. We shared an order of asparagus spears. When our steaks arrived, both were the correct temp (I ordered medium and my wife med-rare). Both steaks were of the proper tenderness you would expect of a decent cut of beef. And the asparagus was nicely roasted and had good flavor. These are the pros. The cons? Neither mine nor my wifes steak were seasoned properly. Both required salt and pepper. Both steaks were quite bland. And my scallops were overcooked and quite chewy.I will say that the service, from the hostess at the door to our waitstaff was what I would expect from a restaurant in this price point. They were professional, attentive and appeared to have that special ability to be there right when you might need something and to disappear when you didnt. But overall, I have to give this experience a 3-star review. For the price of this meal I expect more. To justify the top dollar price point, I expect to cut into a steak that makes me want to exclaim over its flavor. I didnt get that here. And the scallops were just ... well, bad.
This tiny little corner in the Heart of Braselton is a Gem! We came here to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary and what a wonderful choice we made! The people are super attentive from the time you walk thru the door, they have sanitizer right in the entrance, they took our temperature, all of the silverware came seal in cute plastic bags. The cocktails were delicious... and the food, all was Exceptional! The appetizers were so delicious and my Delmonico Rib Eye was incredibly tasty and just in case you desire, they have a delicious house-made steak sauce. Dessert was so tasty! Matt, our server, made out experience so unforgettable, we will be back for sure!!! Give it a try!
First time here. Just happened to come across the place. A wonderful experience. Our Server was brand new and excellent. She was informative, funny, energetic, charming and proficient. She was also brand new. I would not have known it if she hadnt told us she was in Training. Nathan is her Trainer and let me say ....bravo!! Oh the food? Seasoned perfectly. Cooked perfectly. I had the chicken, daughter had the crab cakes, husband had the lobster. Shared dessert. Highly recommended. $$$FYI....Brunch on Sondays!
I’ve read a few of the negative reviews on here and it’s clear that there are some people you simply cannot satisfy. If you were to give them a free steak dinner they would complain that it was brought to the table too quickly. Ha!That being said my wife and I absolutely LOVE Cotton Calf Kitchen! We go every year for our anniversary. The service is always phenomenal, and the food is prepared perfectly and is delicious. The food is pricey which is why it is considered fine dining. This is not Longhorns folks. If you want a $14 steak there are a number of places at the Mall of Ga. that would be right up your alley. However, if you want a fine dining experience and don’t want to have to make the drive (and fight the traffic) to Atlanta, then Cotton Calf Kitchen is your place!
Add this restaurant to your list! They hit on all marks: service, quality and atmosphere. Make sure to try the crab cakes eggs benedict for brunch. The dinner is incredible as well. The Duck Confit appetizer is delicious. Come hungry and you will not leave disappointed or hungry.
Bar service is always good which is where I always sit. Nick and Nicole are outstanding. Steaks are always good except the Cajun, which was too salty for my palette. Besides that, everything is always good. Fyi, place is more expensive than others but service makes up for it, in my opinion.
The food was delicious & the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare 👌. Our waiter was so helpful and he did a great job making sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this restaurants if you are looking for a date night, great steak, or even a girls evening out.
Pricey, but you get large servings of great quality food. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us plenty of times to make sure we were having a great experience. The only reason Im giving this place 4 stars is because the outer door was open, so flies were getting in and flying around our food.
It is expensive, but it is worth it for a first class dining environment. Been several times and I have never been disappointed. First class food and service. Did have a slight problem with a jerk who was a bartender there, but he is no longer employed there and my waitress bent over backwards to make amends for the jerk. Go there and as long as you realize that it is going to be expensive you will have a dining experience second to none.
Fantastic food in a chic atmosphere that is worth the drive. But, what sets this place apart is the fine service. Also excellent cocktails. Perfect for a romantic evening. Note: sides arent included in the entree price. They are served homestyle and are huge. The chopped salad is my favorite--serves two to three.
Keystone cops would provide better service. Just went there for brunch at 11:30a on Sunday the 3rd of June. This place started off strong when first opened but it has steadily gone down hill from there. Weve said we would never come back twice already in the past after sub-par experiences and yet still gave it another chance today. Just to be disappointed again. The male server (who was the only server at that time and was being shadowed by a new female server), was awful. Shouldnt be too difficult to figure out who he is. Terrible service manners, constantly reaching across my wife and I. Nearly hit her with water pitcher several times. Put hot plates half inch from our face. Bumped into wifes arm, and of course not even an excuse me.Food was below average. Definitely had better meals in the past but the true disappointment is the low quality of the service. Dont think the Calf can survive much longer with this low level of service.
This place carters to people who truly believe that paying top dollar means it must be top quality. In other words, the people who like this place must not actually know what quality food is, and just like that it makes them feel high class. The food was so bland and so over cooked. For an almost $200 meal, Ive never been more disappointed. Do yourself a favor and drive into Atlanta to a place that actually serves quality equal to what you pay for.
My husband took me out for a long over due date night. Had planned on going to a movie after dinner however after a 2 hour long dinner that was no longer an option. We got crab cakes appetizer which was great. Then we both got filets. I got bone out he got bone in. Mine was perfect. My husbands on the other hand first came back WAY over cooked, the manager and waiter (who were both extremely nice and amazing) quickly responded and had the kitchen staff make him a new one and told him to just take the over cooked one home. Ok fine.Second one comes out and it’s undercooked. Gets sent back again by the manager. My husband never once said a word about it. It was the staff who was paying attention taking care of it. Which I was grateful for. Finally on the third try his steak came back perfect. Manager said he would comp us a dessert for our wait. Which again, was super nice of him. The problem we had was we were told the dessert was going to take 10 minutes after 20 minutes and getting late at this point the waiter came back and said it would be any minute. Well the kitchen is completely open and we could clearly see that the kitchen was shut down and our dessert was never made or started and our waiter went to yell at the kitchen staff about our food and we were still waiting. At this point we were sick of all the waiting and wanted to just leave. The waiter kept apologizing. My problem was not with the waiter or manager, they were great. It was the waste of our time and not being honest with me when I could clearly see and hear what was going on. I should also add the waiter made a point to tell us he took the dessert off the bill since we didn’t wait for it after we were already told we wouldn’t be charged for it. But we were both just so over it at this point we just paid and left.
Amazing. Simply amazing. Everything about the Cotton Calf is carefully considered to perfection. The wait staff are knowledgeable and professional. There isnt a bad seat in the house. Of youre two people, take the chefs table. The sides are delish and huge. Lobster bisque is on point. The steak is to die for. The burger is a hit for a lower cost option. The chefs wont let anything leave the kitchen that isnt perfect. The steak fries are HUGE. Consider making reservations, but you can usually eat at the bar if you forgot.
This is a truly unique and amazing restaurant right in downtown Braselton. If you just happen into this place on the weekend, you may not quite be ready. Its a little pricey. Its a smaller space. Its a little pretentious...but it is good. It is really good. Dinner is exceptional and even entertaining with the open kitchen. We also took a group to brunch and their Braised Chicken Burrito with the guac and cilantro lime sour cream forever ruined all other burritos or me. When the time is right, make that reservation and enjoy.
Great food with expert service. A bit loud because of the architecture, but a lot of fun. Gets expensive for large groups though.Good wine list.Nice spirits list. Bourbon and whiskeys.Deserts are quality but not unusual.Beef excellent.Seafood above average.Portion size is very good.Good coffee, but French press only. No expresso.
The atmosphere was nice. But the wait and the food was not all that it could have been. The prices are extremely high for food that does not taste that well. I will not go back ever! We made a reservation for 8:45 p.m. we did not get our food until 10:02 p.m. . We left the restaurant at 10:20. Everything cost the meat had no sides you had to pay for everything. The thing that gets me the most is the WAIT TIME!
Let me start by saying that nothing was outright bad about it, but there wasnt much good either. Lets start with the service. The hostess was very abrupt, but we were seated promptly. Our waiter Richard was... interesting. I couldnt even understand half of the specials because of how fast he rushed through them. I think because of our age (mid 20s) he thought it was OK to speak to us more like his bros than his customers. I asked for a recommendation from the wine list and instead of giving me intelligent feedback, he basically just said drink whatever you like. Well, OK? He also kept making weird jokes about me leaving food for my husband and about the splint on my wrist (I fractured it). It was just an odd encounter overall. He didnt even give us a dessert menu. I felt like we were being rushed out the door. The food was just OK. We ordered the Oysters Rockefeller to start which were excellent. The problems with the food came with our steaks. My husband and I both ordered Medium Rare Petite Filets and both of them were served Medium. Normally this wouldnt bother me so much, but when I am ordering a $50 steak I expect perfection. We split a baked potato and sauteed mushrooms for sides and both had little to no flavor. They werent outright bad, but I wish there had been salt on the table.None of this would have bothered me so much if I wasnt eating a $200 meal, but for these prices I can drive 40 more miles into Atlanta and have 5 star food and service that far outdos anything this restaurant can offer. Sad to say I wont be back.
Got to try Cotton Calf Kitchen with my Dad and my Brother. I had heard from several People how good the food and atmosphere were. My Petite Filet was Incredible...perfect steak and the sides and salad were to die for.Fabulous food and atmoshere in Old downtown Braselton. I highly recommend this restaurant for Family and friends and social gatherings!
First time there. Went for lunch and had the spinach, beet salad added chicken. One of the best salads Ive had. The chicken is so good. Husband had the chef salad w steak equally as good! We started outside to eat. Had a few yellow jackets around but soon there were too many joining us for lunch. Manager came around checking on dinners because of the unwanted guest. We asked to move inside. Staff was so accommodating. Since the yellow jackets were too interested in my wine the manager told me to leave it, he had another glass sent to me when we went inside. Our appetizer was compd(which we said he didnt need to do since we were about done with it) as was my glass of wine. He( wish I could remember his name) went above expectations. The salads were really good raw oysters too. Great experience, great food and great staff!!
Cotton calf wants to be an upscale dining experience, however its mediocre at best. I believe these reviews are all so good because its local crowd wouldnt know good food if it kicked them in the mouth. If youve never been here and you want a nice steak dinner do yourself a favor and drive the extra 45 mins to somewhere better in Atlanta. My wife and i discovered cotton calf while on vacation and wanted a nice quiet steak dinner for our anniversary. The atmosphere was pleasant and our server was wonderful; very nice and knowledgeable. We ordered the bacon app which was literally 3 pieces of thick cut bacon with some watery maple glaze on the side it was just okay. We both ordered delmonico steaks medium and med rare...cutting into the steaks they were cooked to the temperature we wanted but they werent rested and all of the juice immediately ran out on our plates..the broiler that they use cooked them so fast they didnt even render the fat (with dry aged beef they should be so tender it eats like butter) it essentially tensed it up and was extremely disappointing to ruin such a nice steak. The saving grace of this meal was the dessert...the creme brulee was actually very nice and light. Which ironically we didnt have to pay for since the dessert was on the house for our anniversary..that was honestly the only thing i wanted to pay for.
This is my favorite steakhouse in GA. I probably go at least twice a month, and they have never been anything under superb. The steak is always a perfect medium rare, and the service is always attentive and timely. They arent joking when they say the sides are family-sized! I usually get a side to share and the filet, and never leave hungry. I would definitely recommend Cotton Calf to anyone who loves a good steak.
We ordered curbside for our special anniversary. My filet mignon, which I ordered medium, was medium rare and had fat and grizzle on it. I’ve enjoyed some awesome filets before at Scott’s and many other restaurants, and the Cotton Calf filet was subpar for the price ($41$.My husband enjoyed the sea bass and thought it was very good.We wanted to support our local restaurants during this difficult time. However, for the very expensive prices they charge, we won’t be going back. For two entrees, salad, two sides and. $12 slice of mediocre pie, (totally $143), it was just an ok dinner.. Sorry, CCK, but for that price I expected much more :(
I sat at the bar all evening and only had appetizers I will not be able to speak to the main entries. The atmosphere is cozy and the service friendly and hospitable. I had the oysters on the half shell and ahi tuna appetizers which were both very good even if a bit pricey. I enjoyed my visit and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxing meal in an accommodating environment.
Thankfully we have a fine dining option near Jefferson Georgia. My wife and I have always looked forward to special occasions at CCK. Last night was no exception. Our 26th Anniversary was made a little brighter with pleasant visits by co-owner Vincent Price asking if there was anything possible he could do to make our experience any better. Our response was “absolutely not”. The service from Rodney, our favorite waiter was beyond expectations. The way he offers the perfect amount of information, class and attention to detail ranks him in the top 1% of all professional wait staff. Ask for him upon arrival. The food was delicious! There is no better heirloom salad or Delmonico Ribeye on the planet! Trust me. As for price, hey you get what you pay for. Enjoy the night. Leave a fat tip and create a lasting memory.
Everything was spot on, from the service, to the drinks, food, and presentation! I love the open kitchen concept with the chefs counter seating. Will be a must-stop every time I drive through the area! It is getting increasingly difficult to find a restaurant that REALLY knows how to cook a steak (with both dry-aged Angus and Wagyu choices!); this one is tops!!
Salad was wilted. Steak cold and no seasoning. Our bill was 200$ would have payed that any day if the food was good. Please do not waits your time there. O and if you need to use the restrume there is only one his and her restroom. I hope you can hold it. This place is way way over rated. Me and my wife had the porter house for 2. I would had rather got a bucket of chicken in Jefferson would have been tastier!
Excellent experience with Nicole who has personally waited on us several times, came in tonight and she even said good to see you guys and are you having the same thing. She is excellent at making you feel like your at a restaurant that cares about you and the experience! Food is always awesome.
Went for my 20th anniversary (Dec 6th), and it did not disappoint AT ALL! I am so glad that we tried this magnificent restaurant. It was so awesome that we may go back next week. Unbelievable steak, phenomenal service (Dalton), and the Cheesecake is to die for! We have been to the best steak houses in the metro area. I would put Cotton Calf up against those any day!
Gourmet steak & food. Every item well prepared & well presented.I give 5 stars despite the fact that on our night here, the service completely & totally dropped the ball. We were ignored for long periods of time (30 mins) ... to the point where instead of ordering dessert (which we wanted to try), I had to run down a a different server just to request our check.I did not want to penalize the entire restaurant for one servers shortcomings. If others are sacking the service, then perhaps factor that in. But the quality of food is worth it.
Updated 7/2/20 to add that the hostess informed me they no longer do curbside pickup today: Now if you want to order food “to go” you must go inside and place the order at the bar and wait for your food. What is the point? We order to go for convenience and for safety reasons due to Covid. Not having ANY type of call ahead order system truly defeats the purpose. I am also adding that I’m disappointed that management didn’t respond to someone who had been a loyal customer for YEARS and who has turned on at least 15 friends and family members to Cotton Calf and Braselton Bakery and that is a very conservative estimate. If I were to solely rate this restaurant on the food they serve it would be a 10/10. However, I am extremely sad to say that I have been disappointed with the last several interactions I have had with Cotton Calf. First off, three times I have recently tried to order food for curbside pick up during the hours reflected on Google. Two of those times I actually drove there to make sure they weren’t just on another call or too busy to take my order at the time. Nope, closed. After the third time I emailed them to let them know that they should update their hours on Google. Because they are one of my favorite restaurants, I took the time to do this and gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they had a lot going on due to Covid and maybe looked over updating their business hours. I am now ticked off after the fourth time I tried to order food from them tonight and was told at 9:13 pm (although their hours reflect they are open until 11:00 pm tonight) that they aren’t taking orders. I asked why as I feared they had done away with curbside pickup altogether and was told that they took their last order at 9:00 pm tonight. How absurd! I’m a paying customer coming to your business within the hours you are open according to Google and your website and I have been turned away a fourth time.It seems that you have a difficulty listening to what your customers want from my experience which is surprising for a restaurant who requires their servers to be as service-oriented as Cotton Calf does. Even before Coronavirus, we wanted to place to go orders. I requested multiple times and was told that was something you didn’t offer. We had to come in and place an order and wait for it inside, which wastes a lot of our time and defeats the purpose of getting food to go.Before Coronavirus we visited your restaurant multiple times a week. Now we visit your restaurant at least once a week for curbside pickup, some weeks twice. I did not want to leave this review but I feel that it is necessary at this point to get through to you. Please update your business hours to prevent further frustration from myself and other customers. I sure hope you listen to what your customers want in the future which includes keeping the option for call ahead orders available regardless of Coronavirus!
You do NOT have to go to Atlanta or Alpharetta for an Upscale Steak House anymore. Downtown Braselton has a gem. This is an amazing establishment. Steak cooked to PERFECTION. Brunch is AMAZING and the service is outstanding. A white table cloth place that makes you feel like you walked into your familys home for dinner, very welcoming. You will not be disappointed. Happy hour daily at the bar and outside on the patio. Going for Mothers Day Brunch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
An absolutely amazing experience. Hubby surprised me for my 40th birthday dinner. Our server Rodney was attentive, well informed, made wonderful suggestions, and offered up customer service like you rarely see anymore. The delmonico ribeye was delicious, and the brussel sprouts were some of the best we have ever had. We will certainly be returning for more than just special occasions. Highly recommend .

2022-05-11The Cotton Calf Kitchen is an absolute gem tucked away in an unassuming town. We were hesitant at first to try this restaurant, but they did not disappoint! Our waitress Avalon was phenomenal (extremely knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and very friendly)! Several managers checked in on us throughout our dining experience to ensure that we not only enjoyed our meal, but also knew that our patronage was greatly appreciated. In addition to every single dish being simply devine, our table location allowed us to watch Taylor ensure with the utmost precision that ALL of the meats were perfectly cooked. He is truly the meat master! Each member of the kitchen staff takes pride in their work, and it truly comes through in the taste of each dish. I cant say enough about how wonderful this restaurant is and I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a wonderful dining experience from start to finish!

2022-03-06Just ate here for my 35th birthday, and I just say that this is one of the best overall restaurants Ive ever been to. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, everyone we encountered was a pleasure to deal with.We were a party of 8, and three of us arrived on time. Instead of having us wait until our full party arrived, they took us at our word that everyone is coming and sat us immediately without question. Right after being seating, we were greeted by our server, Lauren, who was remarkable all night.Mostly everything we ordered was amazing. It was my first time having dry-aged steak and the tomahawk did not disappoint. The brussel sprouts and lyonnaise potatoes were also solid. The evening did not go without its drawbacks, but the service provided when things went wrong is what sets this place apart from others. We did not enjoy the smoked Old Fashion and Lauren quickly brought us a different drink of our choosing with no issue. My tomahawk was also overcooked on the first go around, but it was replaced right away and personally brought to me by the manager and he removed it from our bill (did not expect that at all).I am never one to write these long reviews, but Cotton Calf Kitchen deserves every bit of it! Do not be scared of the higher prices, you get what you pay for here.

2022-02-19It’s always a pleasure when I get to dine at Cotton Calf, no special occasion needed. Service is always impeccable and the food is never a miss. Their heirloom salad still remains a favorite of mine and will have your mouth drooling during each bite. Can’t wait to dine again, this place continues to be my happy place!

2022-05-09Everything was perfect! Every dish that came out was absolutely delicious. If you like fried green tomatoes, be sure to order them. Just do it, you WILL NOT regret it. Our only disappointment with them was that we should have ordered more! And the Confit Duck Egg Rolls, another delicious choice. Great place for a business meeting, celebration, reception or whatever! We were very pleased and will definitely return. Oh, if they have the Grilled Pineapple Margarita, get that too! But be careful, that 2nd one will getcha!

2022-06-30The Cotton Calf Kitchen was unexpectedly delicious from beginning to end! We have been told by many people to try this restaurant and finally did! We already can’t wait to go back! Our waitress Sarah H was phenomenal! We asked a lot of questions about everything and she was able to answer quickly and with ease! We assumed she had been working there for a while by the way she knew everything and served us so well, but she said she had only been there a month! She was very sweet! We got the Colassal Lump Crab Cake and Oysters Rockefeller for appetizers. We got complimentary bread with house made butter that was incredible!I got Garlic Butter Chicken and my boyfriend got Baked Chilean Sea Bass. We got Mashed potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, and Prosciutto Green Beans for sides. Each was unlike any side I’ve ever had. They all had incredible flavor and the vegetables were fresh. We got the Crème Brûlée, which was house made. It was the best Crème Brûlée we’ve ever had!! I can’t wait to try the other desserts! But when we asked about the desserts Sarah H said some were house made and some came from Alpine Bakery & Pizzeria in Alpharetta. The location is super cute as well. We went at night, but I hope to go during the day to be able to check out the stores in the area. It looked like there is a hair salon and boutique next to the restaurant! As we left one of the managers held the door for us and gave us a warm goodbye!I cant say enough about how wonderful this restaurant is and I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a wonderful dining experience from start to finish!

2022-07-14Absolutely worth it! Shout out to Seema as our server!! She was amazing. Made our experience worth it. Food was excellent. Artichoke crab meat dip!!! Soooo good! Delmonico Ribeye medium rare. The best I’ve ever had. Scallops bacon wrapped…OMG!! Lobster tail.. no butter needed. So, shout out to the chefs. I would say if you don’t see an open reservation on open table make sure to call. They were not as busy as I would have expected. It’s definitely on the pricey side but we were celebrating our anniversary and the price was worth the quality. Leftovers for days.

2022-02-24Nice place. We had a party of 5, service was great. Appetizers were amazing - especially the duck egg rolls. I had Chilean seabass with asparagus and mashed potatoes. All were pretty good. My only complaint is the price point vs the flavor. Others in my party totally loved the steak...I would recommend meat vs fish. All in all it is a nice place to go for a good meal.
