THIS HOTEL DISAPPOINTS. I was told on the phone that we would be able to pay by check since it would be a school check. That was not the case. They did not want to accept any responsibility for this mistake. They wanted to defend themselves with, “No hotels take checks anymore.” I, personally, take many students groups with me throughout the year and pay with a school check everytime without issue, because I am always upfront about this. I felt like I was being treated like a liar. I feel this is bad business practice. Additionally, I was also told that all rooms would have a pullout coach in them. When I arrived, and got in the room none of the double bed rooms. have a pullout coach, and then was refused a roll away due to fire marshal (which I understand). However, again, that was lie number two. Now for the room. Upon first glance looks nice. It was clean. Inside of my double bed room, I have two beds. Once is nice, soft, and quiet and the other seems like it may have come from when bed springs were first introduced into the market. It is squeaky and uncomfortable. I could accept this if both beds were like this, but WE HAVE TWO DIFFERENT BEDS IN THE SAME ROOM. They are not even close to the same height to disguise that they are different beds. Also, the TV is at least 10 years old. I am very disappointed with this hotel and its accommodations. This hotel is a POOR reflection of the Marriott standards.
The service desk along with housekeeping maintained professional and curteous attitudes at all times. The cleanliness of the room and the over all hotel was top notch. When I stayed in south Florida earlier this year, housekeeping was either only available once or a few times a week and you were disclosed of the shortage in staff prior to arrival. I cannot express enough of how well maintained and clean the hotel was during my stay. I was extremely happy with the team and the great customer service. My room was so spot clean, it made me so glad to see that this hotel is not lacking in any department. They are very professional and attentive. I was also happy to see there werent any staffing issues, atleast not visible to guests. They work as an excellent team and deserve any monetary or compensation bonus as we had a big wedding party all stay at the hotel. I am happy with my visit and give 100 stars to this Atlanta hotel !!
This hotel is situated in the middle of pretty much everything youd want to do near the Mall of Georgia. The rooms and staff were very nice. The only issue we ran into was the King Suite we got the first day was wheelchair accessable. This meant there was not tub and the shower and toilet were in the same room. Not too bad ususally, but if youre not in a wheelchair it can pose some issues. Like after someone takes a shower and then someone comes in later to use the toilet. Its absolutely NO fun when you drop your PJs in a puddle of water when using the toilet. Make sure if you end up with a wheelchair accessable room you are prepared for the toilet to be in the same level with the shower floor and to have water across the entire bathroom. The sink was outside the bathroom so that wasnt an issue. We when through a lot of towels the first day which isnt very Eco-Friendly. The moved us to another room after the first night and it was perfect after that. Other than that issue, we enjoyed our stay.
Our rooms toilet kept running. Light over coffee area was out. Our travel companion had a dead phone in his room. All minor, and fixed quickly, but it should have been checked and fixed prior to renting the rooms.Food was awful. People tried hard. Place is attractive and well laid out. Stayed here before not terrific then but ok. Not sure we will be back.
Anna in the bistro is AMAZING! She is so nice and so accommodating and she made our morning start off great by making us the best caramel macchiato!! Tip her well😉 and her daughter works there, her name is Lucy and she’s amazing as well, really sweet. We had an extremely rough weekend but our stay at the courtyard mall of Georgia made it so much better. Clean, courteous, professional, comfortable and sanitized rooms. Room 311 has a great balcony view over the patio which has an awesome fire pit.We stayed there one night and had a flight scheduled but had to rebook our flight for the next day realized we left one of our suitcases and accepted that as a clear sign that we needed to go back and stay one more night!
Place was clean, food was good, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was one woman (I can’t remember her name) who went above and beyond for us. We arrived after the bar/coffee shop was closed and she opened it for us. She was kind and very friendly. She made our day
I stayed here on three occasions and the housekeeping service is non existent. The front desk is spotty after the morning shifts. The housekeeping and front desk a very lazy and are providing minimal customer service. The breakfast choices are limited and the food does not look attractive. The cook staff are great and the Cafe staff are a bit more customer friendly than other parts of the hotel. There are two amazing employees Alex and also the late night gentleman. The remainder of the front desk staff could be on their cellphones and not paying attention to their guests. This is a classic case of they probably pay terribly so they are having a hard time finding experienced staff.
Hotels great. Front desk receptionist not so much. Melissa was extremely rude & inconsiderate. The hotel charged us 2 times for the payment (now risking overdraft fees) & god forbid we ask her for help. The worst customer service we have experienced in a long time. Someone needs an attitude adjustment & maybe a new job 🤷🏽♀️
9/10 times I stay at a Marriott when traveling. I always conduct research and base my decisions on reviews, location and quality. This hotel is not a Marriott quality hotel. The room was not maintained properly, peeling wallpaper, mold spots on caulking in tub, mold spots on tiles, missing grout lines, toilet clogged, sink clogged, tub drain clogged, the mattresses are from the 90s hard spring style, pillows are flat, just to name a few. I was excited about staying here but it was completely floored based on the quality and care of the hotel. As usual lobby is new and updated but everything else is not properly maintained.
Location was average, customer service was good. However, the cleanliness was problematic. The balcony of the room wasn’t tended to, there were more than 12 dozen discarded cigarettes outside of my room, and the bathrooms and sinks would have benefited from a proper cleaning.
I was surprised with the construction in progress when i arrived. Had i known this in advance I would have stayed next door at a alternate location option. This resulted in power cord ran across floor in hallway leading to my room, no food options at hotel, odor and humidity levels in hallway requiring me to run air condition in my room to compensate. The slow drain in sink in room. Water would fill up and stand for 5 - 10 minutes after washing face. I understand the COVID 19 measures to limit the housekeeping but feel the customer should receive a reduced rate for inconvenience since there must be an overall reduction in overhead that Marriott is paying out to employee salaries (Much less staff on site at this particular location). As a result of these conditions I shortened my stay and checked out early. I ended up at a Marriott competitors location. I hope my next experience returned to the standard customer service level I am use to.
While this property was convenient to my needs, it was outdated and my keys kept failing. According to my reservation, I was to have mobile key which is not true at this older property. Room was ok, yet dated. Shower leaked each morning as curtain would not stay in place
Great customer service at the front desk, was met by Lisa who explained the property and all the amenities. She is the reason this property should be commended on their success. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The dining area is nothing out of the ordinary but the fitness center is less than adequate. All in all good for a short business trip or a weekend family trip in the area.
I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott because my church had a Baptism scheduled. The Staff were very helpful and encouraging as we performed the Baptism! They were patient as our was about 30 candidates with me. I am pleased with the service and support from the hotel, and will be returning for future Baptisms!
Its unimportant as to why I booked lodging. Travelers, young or old, whether traveling for business or personal reasons, deserve the best of services, especially given your rates. Staff were polite, but they dont make decisions governing how customers are treated. Also, I will not agree to your amending my statement.
The staff was very kind and accommodating. Lisa checked us in and continued to be available and happy to help. The room was very clean and smelled great. The breakfast options were very good and the presentation was impressive. I would highly recommend. We were there for a wedding and the staff was happy to help and expressed excitement.
Do not stay here cold showers no water pressure that was in our room. In my sons room he had to move rooms 3 times in a 3 day stay it was horrible the staff was not friendly and did not seem to want to help and after all that my son went through there was no compensation we will not be staying here again
Great experience and I must say the staff and employees made the difference. The room was clean throughout including the bathroom. The bathroom itself had serious water pressure and temperature problems. Since we got there we were greeted in a sincere way not the forced welcome to Moes kind of way. Very friendly and helpful. The recommendations on the area were great.
We don’t frequent hotels since we one a motorhome. This trip we had to book a hotel since we we’re traveling for my son’s gymnastic competition. First night, we stayed at the country inn next door due to their indoor pool and we were not Impressed, that hotel felt dirty. Next 2 nights we spent here and wow! Such a nice, clean hotel and I could even sleep comfortably because everything about this place was clean, crisp and organized. The best part as campers, they even have an outdoor Fire pit which the staff was nice enough to fire up early for my son and I. We enjoyed the indoor pool, jacuzzi and the fitness room. The staff was amazing! I most certainly recommend this place and I’m a hard person to please and impress.
On my last night with Courtyard there was a water leak that caused the alarm to go off at 2:00 am in the morning & l was so scared. We had to leave the building with night clothes on and couldn’t return into the building for hours later. When we were allowed in it was dark due to the electricity being shut off so we could barely see to collect our items. I think I left some items in the room and l called back but of course they didn’t see anything. The hotel couldn’t find anywhere else for us to stay so we drove home sleepy and had to rest on the side of the road. I do understand that things happen but hopefully in the future Courtyard will be better prepared for a situation like this.
About twenty of us stayed here to attend a friend’s memorial service in the area. We were delighted with every aspect of the hotel and especially appreciated being able to host a small reception in the lobby/bar area following the service. The guest rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, the food and beverage offerings were tasty and reasonably priced, the public spaces were open and inviting, and each staff member we encountered during the booking process and during our stay was gracious and helpful. Kudos to all!
Our room was perfect it was spacious, clean, and once we adjusted the air to our liking it was great. Its away from the noise yet your close to shopping, food, and its maybe an 45 minute drive into the heart of Atlanta (minus traffic). The hotel lobby was nice and the front desk was always nice no matter the shift. It was Labor day weekend when we visited so it was sorta busy plus two wedding parties were there but still things ran as smoothly as possible. My only complaints about the hotel itself was on the hotels left side side door had a tendency to stick/not open even though we could tell the key card was working so Id advise you to not be in a rush to get to the bathroom. We requested an early check in, because rest is needed after an 8 hour plus road trip, but we were unable to get it, and I understand it was busy but it would have been nice if someone wouldve reached out to say hey were backed up so itll take longer than expected or something of that nature. I felt safe in the hotel. Overall I enjoyed my stay tremendously I could see myself booking this hotel again. Oh and the beds were the best part I slept like my 1yr after a long day of playing.
We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 5 days while we were in town for our son’s wedding. He picked this hotel for the out of town guests because of pricing and the fact that they could shuttle our guests to the wedding venue. It did not disappoint!! Loved the front desk staff and housekeepers! Everyone was so FUN and friendly! The lobby is beautiful, Fitness Center was perfect, very clean rooms, and yummy breakfast! Highly recommend!!
If I could have given zero stars then I would’ve! My stay was absolutely horrible. The first room I went to the TV didn’t even work. Then they had me move to another room. I went to put something in the refrigerator only to find that it was covered with mold all on the inside. So their solution was another room. AGAIN. So on the way up, I decided to stop by that room and only to find that that room also had mold in the fridge. I’ve never had such issues at any hotel before. They also told me that I would get a partial refund which still has not happened in 2 months. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The customer service was also terrible from the GM, Lauren. I still didn’t get any of my money back and they are not trying to help at all and claim their hands are tied. Mold is definitely a health hazard and they are taking it way too lightly. If multiple rooms have the same problem, evidently housekeeping is not doing their job, and their supervisors aren’t either. We are in a pandemic right now as well and I would like to believe they are taking extra precautions but I do not think they are!
Just ok for me😢Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable, and the hotel is really close to the Mall of Georgia, all pluses! However, as we were closing the window blinds for the evening we found a foreign object...upon closer inspection it was a sock, most likely from a previous guest. We were all grossed out by finding it which set us all to thinking, just how clean is this room? Since checkout is merely dropping off your room keys now days, there was no one to talk to about the issue.
The best part of my stay was the courtesy and responsiveness of the entire staff. Hotel amenities were above average on the whole. The breakfast area could use some love though. Cleanliness would have been excellent had it not been for the ants in the room. The staff responded immediately but the ants returned. This site offered good value but could benefit from upgrading the tub as I found it to be shallow and a bit flimsy.
Clean and well manicured hotel! The late evening registration person (lady) was amazing! She informed us of what was avaiable in the hotel and immediate area. She also showed us the beautiful firepit in the back that allowd us to extend a few evenings! If youre gonna be in Buford, check it out!
Very lovely atmosphere! The lounge or sitting area is so delightful. Did not get a chance to try the bar, which looked amazing as well, but the rooms are so clean and up to date. The beds are truly the IT factor! It was so comfortable, i did not want to check out. I actually layed back down 5mins before checkout and fell asleepfor 15mins.
Rudest person I’ve ever met working in “Hospitality”. The manager we encountered was eager to argue with us. Straight out told us “if we didn’t like it she would be happy to cancel our reservation”. Every time we went to the front desk we had to wait at least 5 minutes for the staff in the office behind the front desk to break away from their conversation to assist us.
We were having family Thanksgiving near Buford and our host recommended the Courtyard, because of its proximity to her home and the Mall of Georgia. Check-in was fine. I had reserved 3 rooms with different check-in and check-out dates and all was well. The internet service was poor and the computers in the Lobby did not work at any time during our stay. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are dated, but clean. The Bistro servers are friendly, but the food is just okay. Plenty of dining options in the area and I would suggest that you take advantage of them. All in all a decent experience.
Stayed here for a week while in town for work. Very nice hotel, bed is comfortable and room is furnished well. The water pressure in the shower is a little weak, but that might be because I was on the fifth floor. There is no complimentary breakfast, however they have a restaurant you can order from but I didnt try it. All in all its a pretty nice place, I would stay here again.
I really enjoyed my stay at Marriott Courtyard, Buford. The staff was very professional and nice and greeted me each time I walked in the door, which is very important to me since I travel for a living. It lets me know that they are paying close attention to the guest, which makes it easier to notice someone different or out of place. Although I loved the amenities and clean;iness, because of recent worldly events, Im more concerned with the security. The hotel is also centrally located to lots of shopping and dining. My over-all experience was Great!
Very nice hotel with large rooms they call a suite . There is a refrigerator but no in room microwave. Theres one in the lobby/snack area that guests can use. They offer a limited menu of cooked food you can order at the bar. There is plenty of seating in the lobby and outside theres a fire pit with seating. The pool is very small as well as the exercise room. We did notice mold in the ceiling of the bathroom above the shower. Not quality repair or clean up. The electrical sockets in between the beds didnt hold the plugs from our phone chargers properly. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Loved the stay. Only things I would have like to have different. A microwave in the room. A USB charging port. There was one on the television so that worked out. We had a room right next to the elevator. Will not do that again. Will stay here again if i make it to Burford again.
We had a wedding to attend and the wedding couple had a block of rooms reserved here at the Marriott Courtyard Buford Mall of Georgia which was an EXCELLENT choice! Even though it was a quick trip from Orlando to Buford on Friday and back home Saturday we couldnt have had better facilities! KUDOS MARRIOTT
I was in Atlanta for a 7th grade basketball tournament and my group was high maintenance, but the young lady who was the manager was outstanding going way outside of her job description to serve us. When the kitchen was ready to close and breakfast staff ready to shut down, she stepped in to ensure everyone of my boys had breakfast even though some were late getting in line. She was outstanding and I wish I remembered her name to highlight her. When Im in Atlanta again I will be sure to book at her Courtyard.
Pros: Beautiful, Clean hotel with spacious rooms. Customer service from Morgan at front desk was constantly genuinely nice. The bar workers had good customer service as well. The only CON is the beds are sooo soft and uncomfortable and cheap like because you hear the springs in the bed when you move or get in/out the bed. My mom and grandmother back was hurting from the beds the next days.
Prior to our stay, I had a conversation with Walter about your hotel and he was truly kind, considerate and accommodating with all of my questions. We were part of a wedding party - one of four wedding parties that night. We arrived early and Tamara was kind enough to accommodate us as we were exhausted from our trip and we were then able to get some much needed rest before are plans began. Tamara was professional, friendly and very concerned that we enjoy our stay. That evening Kelly was at the front desk and she was busy making sure that all the parties were enjoying themselves and that everything was running smoothly - not a bump in the road. The next day, Tamara again greeted us personally and asked how our stay was going as well as Kelly, once again that night, was on top of everything running like clockwork. Kelly, was still there when we were up to leave the next morning - as cheerful and friendly as the night before. She made sure we had our coupon for free breakfast and Cody at the breakfast/coffee bar made us some delicious breakfast sandwiches to go. Everyone was friendly, friendly, friendly. The beds were comfy and the sheets were soft. All in all, it was a great stay and I would highly recommend this hotel in the future. Thanks for making it a great trip.
I have been a Marriott customer for many years now and usually have a great stay. This Marriott was a disappointment. The room was stuffy/smelly when we entered. The bathroom faucet leaked all night. The bed was sagging and squeaking all night long which led to no sleep. The hallway carpeting was splitting at some seams. This hotel does not seem to be kept up well.I am an elite member and was not greated as such. Although the staff at check-in were very nice and did bring the extra towels and pillows I requested very quickly. We were never told if the hotel offered complimentary breakfast in the morning or any other items. There were no upgrades offered for my status either. I would not recommend this particular Marriott hotel.
Friendly staff, freshly infused water daily, and clean areas. However breakfast is not what I expected. You have to chose one or two options and you get only one drink. Also, when ordering food from restaurants outside of the hotel, they charged a fee of $9.95 to be delivered to the room! Even though it was a person who was delivering my food already through Door Dash .... so why would I be charged an additional fee which was more than what Door Dash charged. The only two issues I had. Still would recommend staying there. Perfect location to mall, restaurants and highway.
We have stayed in many Courtyard hotels over the years but the Courtyard at The Mall of Georgia gets our highest rating. We arrived exhausted after traveling and had an excellent check-in experience and were totally delighted with how spacious, clean and up to date the room was. We had a very restful night in a very comfortable bed with wonderful bedding. The room was so clean it looked like it had never been used. Obviously, we highly recommend this hotel and it’s fantastic location at the Mall of Georgia! Kudos to the management and all the staff!
The staff for awesome. They went above and beyond, were friendly, helpful and just great. I travel lots for work and would have to say that my stay here was one of my pleasant. It was raining out and the nice gentleman at the front took it upon himself to get me an umbrella so I could walk to my car and not get drenched...I drove to the front and returned it :). I nice lady at the cafe, it had just closed but she offered me coffee and was so nice. Great staff and nice hotel!
The room was very nice and housekeeping was really good. Front desk staff showed zero urgency to meet my needs when I asked for items that all Courtyards carry. They said “Sorry we don’t have dryer sheets. Sorry we only have 1 tide box for laundry.” As a premier member you would think they would say we will go get you some. There are other Marriott properties in the area and numerous stores I am sure they could have rounded something up. I told them the light was burnt out in the laundry area. When I left it was still not taken care. The pregnant girl at the front desk looks right thru you as if she doesn’t understand English. I have never ever written a negative review at any Marriott property in the 12+ years I have stayed at their hotels but this was a well below average experience.
Stayed overnight just passing through with family. Did not get the room we booked (2 queens) but only had 1 king and pullout. 3 people had to sleep in one bed and by so barely fit in pullout (very small). Also the tv did not work and the shower was cold after 1 shower. Addressed with both hotel and reservation site but have had no feedback as of yet.
The receptionist would not take my name down for the shuttle stating it was too busy, but I was the only one checking in at this time. Many of the drop tile ceilings were missing in the hallways showing exposed wire. The hallways were hot and humid. The hotel bar was closed and when asked when it would open I was told the woman isn’t here.
The hotel was excellent! Check in was quick and staff was available throughout the stay to help me with any issues. Directions to nearby attractions and restaurants were given to me without asking, and I ended up using a lot of the material. will definitely stay here again!
Hotel is clean and well located. Quiet as well. But our room didnt match what we had booked and we were told a manager would be notified and that is where it ended. Internet in business center did not work so no checking emails. Had to go to front desk to print boarding passes. Evening bar/food area closed from 12/20/17/ - 12/26/17 due to Christmas. Having a place for a glass of wine and an area to entertain in town family was the main reason for booking here.
Really nice property that backed into a beautiful trail... great to be able to take a nice hike and see some of Georgias beauty. Nice indoor pool and outdoor lounge area. We stayed for 3 nights while visiting family - it was a nice place to turn into at the end of the day. Lots of amenities; even had a nice laundry room! Plenty of free parking! No complaints about this hotel. Great property, nice staff, beautiful clean room. Thanks again for the complimentary coffee made fresh for us in the morning! We will be back!
Had a wonderful time celebrating my wedding here this weekend. We had lots of family and friends staying at this hotel with us. The accommodations were wonderful and kept very clean. We really enjoyed the fire pit and provided and opportunity so spend even more time with family and friends from out of town. Staff was very friendly and quick to assist in anyway. They passed out welcome bags for us to our guests as they arrived.
The room itself had relatively nice furniture and accommodations in it, but that is where the good ended. I normally love Marriott hotels and am a high level member with them, but this one was very disappointing. As soon as I got there I turned the AC in the room down to 65 to try and cool it off and despite it running non stop for 3 days/nights the room never got below 74 degrees and that was only after it had ran all night. It would heat up to 78-80 during the day. The wifi is barely good enough to watch netflix on and would frequently freeze or stop working. Finally, the hot tub was broken and the water was cold in it. If you are going to stay in this hotel make sure its in the cooler months or youre going to be sweating the whole time there.
The hotel is beautiful but not all the staff members are as friendly as they should be. We were on a floor where we had to call every day for fresh towels. We also had to call back after leaving to inquire why our credit card charges were different from the checkout receipt that was given.
Staff goes beyond the call of duty; from check in to directions for a lost guest! Staff wears a constant smile and is able to handle heavy check in traffic with ease! The hotel is elegant and very accommodating with great amenities,,, especially a fir pit! Rooms are great size, comfortable for a business trip or couples get away! I could not have been happier!
Stayed here during a business trip. I called them to let them know I would be arriving at 4 am, they had no issues with that. The staff was very accommodating and was quick to assist with any questions and necessities. I like that they have a bar and a kitchen/cafe. I like spicy food and while I had a drink at the bar, the bartender told me made the most spicy wings. I have to agree they were spicy. The staff was awesome, courteous and cordial. I will definitely stay here again.
We arrived in Atlanta very early, so we called and requested an early check in. Kelly was extremely understanding and accommodating. She moved us into a different room, but we were fine with that as long as we could get some rest. When we arrived at the Courtyard Marriott Kelly had already left for the day, but Wilton continued the excellent customer service. He knew we would be arriving early and quickly checked us in. Each time we passed an employee we were greeted. It was the best service we have had at a hotel in a long time.
It was very nice. Nothing to complain about except room keys (which seems to be an issue at any hotel). Checking out desk workers seemed more social than the checking in, but neither appeared anti-social. All the staff seemed friendly and stay was nice. A satisfying hotel experience.
This hotel was extremely clean both inside & outside grounds. The front desk staff was great and the manager even better. The manager approached us as we were arriving at the hotel and provided his name & title as well as stating we could call on him if we needed anything during our stay.He inquired how our stay was and wished us a safe journey as we were leaving the hotel.
Very pleasant front desk at check in. Super dining staff, large room with generous sized bathrooms compared to some of the full service properties! Would give a five if the rooms were already updated, however the rooms do not disappoint because they are clean, smell great and no surprises that required manager intervention. My experience was amazing! Thank you Courtyard Buford, can’t wait to return!
The location of this hotel is superb - just where I needed to be. There is also an abundance of dining choices within a few minutes drive. The hotel is nice and clean, and the rooms are layed out somewhat different than standard. It was refreshing!Service for breakfast at the Bistro was less than adequate. The staff gave the impression that they did not want to be there, the service ranged from adequate to unbelievably slow. The food choices were limited but acceptable.
Mattress in 204 was terrible, you could feel springs and they made awful noises every movement. The bed sloped to one side because that area was worn more. I thought about moving but a staff member mentioned most of the beds where hard and old. 1 out of the 4 showers taken there was no hot water. There is no breakfast included, only $10-$15 options at the bistro for basic items and closed from 10-5 during the day so you can not get lunch there. Positives- Location is good, the place was clean, the lobby is nice.
The staff at this Courtyard was more helpful, personable, and just plain nice than any Ive ever experienced at any hotel. They uniformly seemed genuinely interested in their guests, and made us feel completely at home throughout our nine-day stay. We were relocating to another nearby suburb of Atlanta, and it could have been stressful, but they took pains to be sure that it wasnt. They genuinely wanted to make sure that we had everything we needed or wanted during our stay. They really were the greatest, and Id recommend this hotel to anyone
We have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and have always had a good experience. This hotel is tucked behind Michaels by Mall of Ga, much better than the other hotels right on 20 where traffic, noise and limited parking are issues.By far this is the better place to stay by Mall of Ga with easy access to 85.
Recently started here will visiting the area, I can say that this hotels rooms impressed me a lot. They were very clean and large(seriously there was so much room). The overall look of the lobby was modern and I really enjoyed walking in at night. I if you are traveling in this area and need a hotel for the night, I highly recommend it.
We stayed here while our daughter and her family were relocating from Pennsylvania. This hotel was close to their new home and to just about every store and restaurant one would want. The close proximity to Target, Pier 1, Marshalls, furniture stores and Lowes suited our needs perfectly. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very accommodating. Our King room was spacious and extremely clean and odor free! The Bistro has a nice selection of breakfast items and Starbucks coffee which got us quickly out to start our day. If I had one slight negative it would be that the mattress could be a bit more plush, but this would not stop us from returning. We were very satisfied with the quality and value and our stay here helped to make a major move stress-free!
Sadly this was disppointment right from my arrival and the 15-20 minutes I waited for a staff member to return to the front desk. Granted, not her fault that she was the only person beside the maids around the front desk area in the mid-afternoon. As someone who spends most of their year traveling and staying at Marriott and Hilton properties what a whiff at this location being rated at over stars via yelp. Disappointed all around, hotel, no free coffee, cleanliness, room appearance and for the first time on both days of my stay nobody on staff responded to my before check in request for extra pillows via the Marriott mobile app. Im being generous with 2 starts if you are a marriott customer Id recommend the Fairfield just 2 doors down, much better experience there.
The hotel room was freezing! I tried to get it to a comfortable temperature, but was unsuccessful. As a result, I went home with symptoms of a common cold. There were no microwaves or vending machines in the rooms and on the floors. Only a small stand near the front desk with limited snacks and one microwave. No complimentary continental breakfast offered..despite the expense of this hotel stay.
Overall this is a typical Courtyard, which I find to be a comfortable place to stay when travelling casually or on business. this hotel was clean, well maintained, and in a very good location. I heard the taxis dont run here so you may need a web based car service provider, like the kind that is named for the German cognate for over and has XL and X cars. I observed that the room I was given did not have the foam topped mattress I had become accustomed to. That was a disappointment, but overall the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is located off the main road but there a plenty of good restaurants not more than a mile, and Mall of Georgia is very near if you need to stretch your legs. The hotel does have a shuttle, but not available all the time. This being autumn, it was cozy to have a fire pit for conversation with friends.
I booked a one bedroom suite for my daughters 15th birthday party. I brought 4 teenage girls for a weekend of shopping and fun. The room was just what I asked for-a separate bedroom with a king bed and a roll-away and a couch bed in the sitting room. The girls had a great time in the heated pool and I enjoyed the hot tub. Our stay was great and the girls are looking forward to doing it again next year!!
We liked that we were very close to the mall of Georgia. It gave us something to do before the event we were going to. I liked that there was a fridge in our room, but didnt like that it didnt have a microwave. Not many complaints. Great hotel and they even brought us to our event in a shuttle and picked us up. They went above and beyond their service.
I had used this hotel several times for my trip to Atlanta. Everytime I encountered wonderful stuff handling my stay well. This is a group of friendly, engergized and obviously happy people who like to do their jobs excellently. They dont simply give you the trained profession smile but truly wanted to share their inner happiness with their customers. You can see that the second you face with it; and be honest you cannot see it often even at the top tier big hotels.
We stayed at this hotel for our first Girls Only Weekend. It was a very clean hotel. The room was really large. The bathroom was great, very spacious. The staff was really friend and helpful with suggestions. We will definitely stay here again next year.It was very close to everything, you have so many choices staying at this hotel. I love a lot of choices!
Room and facilities are nice. But NO FREE Breakfast?! This will add at least $20-$30 for 2 to your bill. This now makes the overall rate no longer competitively priced. ALL other hotels within a 4 mile vicinity are competitively priced AND offer free breakfast! When I spoke to the front desk about free breakfast and how ALL others around including another Marriott property offered free breakfast, I got an Im sorry about that. Then I mentioned I was a Marriott Rewards member thinking maybe that would make a difference and I still got the same answer..Sorry. Come on Marriott! I expected more than that. Could have fixed this, but now Im leaving this review! FYI
I only stayed here one night and it was strictly for sleeping. Location is close to the mall although not as convenient as across the street from it. Still only like a 5 min drive max. The receptionist was quick to get us checked in and into the room. The room was very clean and comfortable. No issues with the bed or bathroom. Thermostat control was available and easy to use. Check out the next morning was quick and I was out the door.
Wonderful, tucked away location right near the mall. Quiet, plenty of light, and right around the corner from everything you need.Josiah at the front desk was a total gem. Couldnt hook up a PS4 on the older set they had in the room, so he brought up a monitor/set without asking.
Unimpressive. From the super cold air conditioner to the lack of breakfast, everything is lacking. The room was pretty good, very clean. The price was terrible. The hotel is in good repair and easy to access. You might have a hard time checking in when no one is at the desk. I personally would rather stay somewhere else.
I have been staying here several months on business. Location near the mall and other amenities is second to none. The staff is polite responsive and knowledgeable. The bistro is an excellent place to relax after a long day. I am a member of multiple hotel rewards and would rate this as one of the best
The hotel was clean, front desk staff were friendly, this would have been a five star review if the cleaning lady hadn’t woke us up at 8am banging on the door trying to clean. I’ve been struggling with insomnia and had just fallen back asleep. I can’t understand why someone would do that, especially when the hotel was nearly empty.
The room was nice - comfortable bed and nice shower, good TV selections, close to everything at Mall of Georgia; room was quiet even though hotel is close to I-85; nice staff and ample parking.I cannot recommend prepaying your breakfast as part of a room package. It is not worth the money. It is not a buffet but you have to order through The Bistro. Not what I expected for the price.
The stay was wonderful. Clean hotel with up to date decor. The only challenge was I did not get my Marriott rewards points because the attendant could not find my account. This is the first time it has ever happened. It has not been resolved. Other than that. All was well
We drove from Miami to Buford oh boy it was a ling drive 2 kids my husband and im 7 months pregnant. Ok location was perfect we was surrounded by so many restaurants and the mall right up the road. Check in was a breeze the room is big and and spacious with a balcony we had the king suite. Front desk was always so friendly and servers at tge bistro. The only thing I wish there was more of a breakfast selection and they closed really early maybe it was because the Christmas Holiday. I would come again annually and will highly recommended. Happy New Year
I was unable to sleep for two nights. The facility was clean, the room was nice, and the conference room was perfect for our presentation. The customer service and attention to all guests is horrible. There was a wedding party staying at the hotel. On Friday evening, the party was outside at the fire pit until 1:00 AM. Due to the nature of their event, I did not complain and slept for a couple of hours. On Saturday night the party continued. I called the front desk at 10:50 PM and asked how long the party was going to continue. The front desk clerk informed me he would shut it down in a little bit. As the party continued, I called the front desk again at 12:30 AM. The front desk clerk now informed me that he would only tell them to keep their voices down. I informed the clerk that was unacceptable as the noise of the crowd continued to echo in my room. I was exhausted due to the lack of sleep from Friday night and had to be at work early in the morning. I informed the clerk I wanted to be compensated for the major inconvenience. The clerk informed me he would bring the group in. I again had to call the clerk at 1:15 AM to have the issue addressed as they continued to party outside. I have shared the recordings of how loud the conversations were in my room at 1:00 AM with my counterparts. They were applauded the clerk did nothing to address the situation. To clarify: When a group is outside at the fire pit, their conversations echo into the rooms that are on that side of the hotel. I am positive that the group would have been upset if people were loud early in the morning and they were trying to sleep off their long night. You can only image my disappointment when I found the bill under my door and the full cost of the stay billed to my company credit card. Future travels to Buford GA will be booked in other hotels in the area.
We arrived late in the evening after traveling all day and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We were tired to after taking our luggage to our room enjoyed a nice break on the patio by the fire pit. This hotel is super clean and very well decorated. I definitely recommend if visiting the Atlanta/Mall of GA area.
I booked this hotel, sight unseen off of a list provided for a conference we were attending. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room, the amenities, and the staff! The fire pit was a fun addition and overlooking a hillside of trees complete with beautiful sunrises. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
The hotel is quite nice. Fairly new, clean, comfortable. The staff at the bistro for the morning meal seem overwhelmed, although there were only about 20 people eating and 5-6 waitstaff. 20 minutes for a bowl of oatmeal seems excessive. So, stay here, but eat elsewhere.
The staff at this property truly lived up to the hype - their attentiveness, courtesy and willingness to go above and beyond was phenomenal. They were professional, friendly and engaging. The hotel amenities were great, centrally located and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
We have stayed here on several occasions and have always had a great experience. From the minute we walk in the door until the minute we check out - nothing but professionalism and friendliness. The Front Desk, The maids - always acknowledge guests and make sure all needs are met.
We were disappointed about the room on 4th floor that someone in mgmt must have overlooked quality assurance check. Our rm hvac stayed at 81 even when adjusted and refrig did not get cold and cool our drinks and fresh snacks. bathroom sink was stopped up not enough coffee supplies floor was wet had a smell which should have been our red flag. Front desk clerk from a foreign country did not let me know the deposit charge even though we were there only one night and maybe he dolid not understand English when i asked again to be near bride for her sister.
This hotel was an excellent choice! The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. I am very picky about hotels and where I stay, but this hotel exceeded my expectations! I was very satisfied with the location. It is close to the mall and restaurants, but far enough away from any highway noise. It was perfect. It is well maintained and just overall a great place to stay.
Very nice place. Everyone on the staff was super nice and made me feel welcome. The only complaint I had was the bar and restaraunts. They opened late. We had planned on having drinks at the bar before our evening started. Opening late made us late for the rest of the night. Then later that night when we returned wanting something to eat before retiring, we were told that many of the menu items were not available.
The hotel is very new and remodeled- a much better version of the itself from years ago. A staff member named Tony was fantastic going out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. There is a nice fire pit outside which is fun to hang out around. The internet is free and works great everywhere. The hotel is very conveniently located to the Mall of Georgia and there is plenty of parking. We were there for a wedding in the area and it was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend it!
The hotel is nice, however, the bathroom had not been cleaned and there was used soap and a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower. The pillows also smelled, which made us wonder if the sheets had not been cleaned also. We notified the front desk about this and they said theres nothing they can do, but they would have a manager call us. We never received a call.
This Courtyard by Marriott was very clean, hospitable, and it was the perfect location for the wedding we went to. Being able to congregate in the lobby areas and outside courtyards were perfect for our family. I would definitely recommend this property in the future.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Ive stayed at this chain before in other states for work and they were all great. This one on the other hand is not. The rooms are in bad shape. The wall paper is peeling off, the headboard is all jacked up, it smells musty in the room. They tried 2 different rooms for me and I settled on the better of the 2 because i didnt feel like fighting with them. Will not be staying at this one again.
Pleasant hotel receptionist set aside connecting rooms 3 days earlier so that our grandchildren could be under our protection. When we arrived rooms had been given away by other staff. Was told because of huge crowd but that was a lie, only 68 people at hotel, parking lot half full!!! No regard for our situation as grandparents or as elite rewards members. First time ever being treated like this at a Marriott
I always enjoy my stays at this hotel. Many of the employees know me by name and everyone gives me a friendly greeting. I will be staying at this hotel again this weekend. They need to advertise the excellent hiking trails that can be accessed from just outside the front door of the hotel. The front desk even keeps up with which direction I am going on the trails and wants me to check in when I return. Great group of people.
We were coming in from out of town to spend the day shopping and enjoying the area. Our kids were excited about the pool and hot tub; but unfortunately upon arriving the hot tub was closed. It would have been nice if this was posted online to warn us in advance. Generally, the hotel is very clean and comfortable. Our problems happened after we checked out.We paid for breakfast the next morning in the lobby cafe (and it was okay) before checking out. We left the room in very good condition. When we made it home we noticed a hold on our account and several charges. We had been charged for a mysterious charge, and a $20 hold and $10 hold was on our card. About $75 was tied up =( We phoned the next business day and were told they only charged us once for breakfast, and the hold would come off soon. It took 2 business days to release the holds and the other charges never went away. We called again and were told the same answer, and to call again tomorrow when the manager was in. We did. Same answer; but this time they said they would look into it and call us back. 48 hours later nothing. I’ve had to file a dispute with VISA to fight the hotel to get fraudulent charges removed from our card. The staff showed no concern that they were charging our card in error.I’m posting this to warn others to watch your account after staying here. And you might want to consider another hotel unless you enjoy filling out fraud complaint forms. Poor experience and customer service!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this particular Courtyard and really appreciated the cleanliness of the facility. Tony, one of the desk clerks, went far and above in providing us with super-friendly & genuine customer service. My only real concern is that there was no microwave provided in our room, which was a little disappointing given the modernness of the facility.
Great hotel with plenty of restaurants and shopping near be. Staff was wonderful. Food was just as good at the hotel. Unfortunately, we had a situation at the hotel were we had to be evacuated in the middle of the night (in the rain). Was very disappointed how management (lack of) handled the families that had to displaced. Fortunately for my family we were not effected but was angry for the families who were.
I was blown away by the accommodating, kind and knowledgeable staff!! The purpose of my trip was to work with my service dog, and I am handicapped, where I ambulate using crutches and a wheelchair. The staff all greeted me each morning with genuine happiness and were very well trained on the proper way to interact with people with disabilities. They were very cognizant to ask prior to interacting with my working service dog as well as treat me like anyone else. Even more so, they treated me as though I was an important client and I felt valued as a person each morning and afternoon. I was skeptical of the idea of a hotel near a mall and did not have high hopes for a great experience. It turns out this hotel has blown away five star hotels that I have stayed in around the world in customer service alone. When I am back in this area, I will certainly stay here and have my compatriots do the same!
I reserved my room online. 2 queens and a “sofa” bed...which ended up being a single sleeping hideaway chair! It literally is 2 feet wide! Hilarious! How is a 16 year old boy supposed to sleep on that? My reservation was made for 5 people and it was prepared for 4 and when we sat down to watch tv, there was no remote. Not to mention there is no free breakfast. I’ve paid less for a ro on and had a nice free breakfast. I do have to say that Lauren, the young lady at the desk was extremely nice and took care of my needs promptly with the exception of the sofa bed. It’s hard to disappoint me but I am extremely disappointed.
We suffered a fire one year and had to stay in a hotel for Christmas. Surprisingly, the experience was so nice that we decided, as a family, to make this a new tradition. So every Christmas we check into this hotel (for the indoor pool and the hot tub) and celebrate the holiday at the Courtyard. We unwind in the hot tub and the pool, watch tv snuggled in the big beds and make smores at the big fire pit outside. The staff is always courteous and helpful and we have a great Christmas with no one having to clean up the holiday mess!
I travel quite a bit because mye son is a high profile student athlete. Between March 20 and March 27, I stayed in 3 different hotels. Of the 3, this property was most disappointing! I called the front desk for a complimentary toothbrush and I was told I could buy one from their convenience store. At a different hotel, our rate included a free breakfast buffett, shower cap and make up remover towelettes...not here! You pay more and get much less. I will not stay here again or patronize this brand just for the name.
One because it’s beautiful and peaceful when you enter the building until you try to check in. Was greeted by an uppity older man with accent who had the worst attitude ever!!! I will never stay in another Marriott Hotel. I’d rather stay in a roach infested motel than deal with ppl like him! Throw the entire evening crew away!!! Just start over!!!
Great location, super staff, clean comfortable room and very comfortable bed. Food is fair but there are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes from the hotel right at the mall which is huge. The wine and drinks at the hotel bar are pricey. The only negative really. But again, lots of places very close by for a nightcap. No big deal!
We stayed here because we wanted to be sort of on our way north the following day. The hotel is convenient to the highway, quiet, very accommodating, clean, and serves limited food. The rooms are on the front are the quietest. The only difficulty is dealing with the traffic out of Atlanta to get there.
Shae (bartender/customer service expert) was absolutely fantastic. To say I was very impressed is a complete understatement. Her ability to communicate with customers, was absolutely top notch. I left feeling she would achieve great things and I hope for CM sake, they recognize the talent before someone else snatches her up! Great overall experience. Thank you, Adam S.
If youre looking for a perfect place to stay near the Mall of Georgia, this Courtyard is the place! Across the street from the mall, its on a tree-lined street away from the mall congestion. And every staff member we met was particularly friendly and happy while providing great service! If lines at the mall restaurants get too long, enjoy a quiet dinner at Courtyards bistro. The rooms are modern and clean with especially comfortable beds.
This property has major moisture problems. There is mold in the ceiling in the lobby. There was mold found in the first room offered to us. The plugs do not hold the phone chargers. The rooms are outdated and need renovation. This property needs remediation and an overhaul.
This hotel is centrally located at the Mall of Georgia. It is right off I-85. the hotel staff were, I believe, the friendliest staff that I have ever encountered in a hotel. Everyone was willing to make our stay comfortable from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I highly recommend this hotel.
Was told by staff that an early check-in was available and drove over 4 hours and arrived at 3 AM for the extremely rude and unwilling to help night audit worker to tell me that there was as no rooms available and that it would be until 3 PM. A twelve hour wait! Would give zero if I could.
After a reservation mixup from a booking service, Michalya (sorry, guessing on spelling) at the front desk was patient helping get things resolved and then went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. My daughter and I were switched from two beds to one king. I had to switch rooms due to the noisy ice machine, was asleep in the second room to be woken up by someone trying to open my door, with a key to the same room. Fortunately my daughter slept through it. Finally got back to sleep, woken to very loud guests to find ants crawling in our bed.
The Courtyard Marriott at the Mall of Georgia is great! We have used them multiple times while we attend conferences at the Gwinnett Arena. The staff is great and very hospitable. The location is perfect being next to many different great restaurants and being close to the Mall of Georgia. A definite must stay... I wont stay anywhere else when I am in town. :)

2022-03-12They charged us for things we didn’t do. And they charged us for a room we didn’t even use!!!! We had my daughter’s birthday party here. We called in advance before booking to see if this would be ok. They said it would be fine. We’ll long story short they were so rude to us that we ended up cutting the party short. We didn’t even stay the night. We asked for a refund and they said no which was ok. But then the next day we were charge $600 in cleaning fees and they said we damaged the ceiling in the pool room!? The ceiling was already damaged before we came!!! And when we left I literally was on my hands and knees cleaning the room. It was spotless when we left! So idk where they came up with the cleaning fee! And the damages to the pool ceiling was a flat out lie! They either don’t pay enough attention to there hotel to know the ceiling was damaged or they are just crooks which I’m sure it’s the later. There is no way they didn’t know the ceiling was already damaged! I mean drywall doesn’t start sagging after an hour this takes days for the kind of damage that was there to occur. So horrible place to go! Not only were they rude and disrespectful but they are lying crooks!

2022-06-28Positive: Location very close to the mall of Georgia Negative: Fire alarm went off at 6:45 am and entire hotel had to vacate while fire department came. There was a small fire in the kitchen. I know it was unintentional but it meant we only got 4 hours of sleep that night. Quite expensive for the star rating.

2021-12-19The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Alex provided outstanding customer service and went out of his way for hospitality. My room was peaceful even though I was right by the elevator. I appreciated the information sheet left regarding the Bistros operating hours. The location is great with plenty to do in the area.

2021-10-19The staff was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are REALLY nice. I kept accidentally deactivating my card and there was one front desk clerk who remembered my room number so I didn’t have to say it aloud, which I am anxious about. They made the experience personal as I was there for a wedding and it was really nice to see my family taken care of. 100/10 would recommend. I hadn’t even touched base on the location, it’s amazing! Everything is right there. I loved it!

2022-01-16Called ahead to see if there was a room available for early check in, and we were told there was a room available. When we got there, the guy at the front desk said there was a room “available” but that doesn’t mean it’s clean and ready to be checked in to. We waited an hour and a half after being told a room should be available as soon as it’s cleaned but never got the room. No apology and still have to call Marriott corporate to get a refund

2021-09-15I got married on 9/12/21 and had all of my family and friends stay here, and it was a wonderful experience for everyone. The staff were so accommodating. The breakfast was so tasty! The lobby and outside patio was great for my guests to hang out all together. Everything was cleaned and maintained. All of my guests raved about their stay. Thank you for making another part of my wedding weekend so great!

2021-12-12Had this hotel books with my parents for the weekend. My dad checks in and they put us in the wrong room. 1 king instead of two queens as reserved. Took way too long to get that straightened out but we were told wed have a $10 credit towards their stack area as an apology. Then once in the room we all got laid down and trying to sleep and the front desk calls the room twice. The phone in the room had no sound so had to use the cell phone to call guest service to see what the issue was. Turns out the guy at the front had forgotten to take the credit card information when checking into the (second) correct room. Apparently guest services thought it was appropriate to call our room after 11pm to get that information.Next morning upon checking out the manager on duty tells us that we dont actually have a $10 credit and that the staff working last night must have had us mixed up with someone else. The room was large and clean but ultimately the staff and issues we faced made this place not worth staying, especially for the higher price point they command.

2021-10-28This was suppose to be a pitstop but the staff and all over room made it a remember place to stay and set a standard for all other Marriotts I stay at. It is just an upbeat place and I was checking in after midnight trying to make it to Atlanta but was tired and say why risk it. Found this place through google and waze. The late night staff was amazing and friendly and knowledgeable about the area and everything. The room especially the bathroom was top notch swear they thought of tall people 62 and higher with this design. Got some good sleep not to loud or anything and breakfast was okay eggs easy was leaking heavily which happens but food was good never the least made a bacon egg wheat sandwich. Checkout was smooth and quick highly recommend this place.

2021-10-24The staff has been wonderful. My biggest complaint this stay is the lack of reliable internet service for your travelers that are conducting business during the stay. The wired ethernet in my room was not working and I was given an 800 number that disconnected each time I called. I wasnt able to resolve this issue. The bistro food was really good as well. Your going to pay about $10 a plate which is not horrible. Overall good, but the internet issue caused a bit of stress.
