What a wonderful place. We had a lovely brunch at the restaurant on the property called Paris and Company. Then we walked over for the wine tasting. The wine selection is wonderful, the views beautiful, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We had such a good time we will for sure be back. Highly recommend!
We had a great time here! We were staying at a cabin nearby, and saw the sign, and I’m so happy we went! We got there shortly before closing and the staff was friendly and very welcoming! We all did a flight of Crane Creek Vineyard made wines, picked one pre-chilled bottle and a couple of bottles to take home. We sat on the covered porch, and looked over the gorgeous property. We wandered over to play a couple rounds of bocce ball. There were outdoor bathrooms that were clean and well maintained. I would definitely go back! Perfect for an afternoon treat, start to date night or an opportunity to catch up with friends. I think this would also be a great choice as an event venue. Our favorite wines were Traminette and Seyval Blanc! Work this into your trip if you are visiting the area! Enjoy!
The view was beautiful the setup was very nice they had plenty of little tables and chairs outside and a pavilion with lights. We had the Red-headed step child and the Sweet Sally. The red headed was a red wine and the Sweet Sally was a white. Both are sweet both were good the white was very sweet so we mixed both half and half and it was good too.
Wow, what an experience. We were visiting hiawassee for the weekend and did our first vineyard tour here and it was the highlight of our trip. We had Eric as a tour guide and he was funny, personable and made the entire experience fun and interesting. It down poured while we were there but he didnt let it affect the tour at all. The vineyard is absolutely gorgeous, the tasting was great with a cheese and fruit plate and all of the staff were incredibly friendly. Im embarrassed to say Ive strictly been an Arbor Mist drinker up until now but I really enjoyed all of the wines we tasted. I mentioned I liked sweet wines to Eric and he let us try a bottle that wasnt on the tasting menu, Sweet Sally. We went home with a bottle and will be ordering again! We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great time!
Beautiful spot for a winery with a great view while you do a tasting. I am into more sweet of a wine so they werent my favorite and we also could not go inside. We have to young children so they can make it difficult to enjoy adult time but they enjoyed walking on the grass and seeing Crash the dog.
Nice lil winery to check out if youre in the area. GREAT views from their MANY spots to relax and enjoy a flight or a bottle. I really dont want to say nice things about David, but I have to. Super nice guy, very cordial host. If youre in the area, stop by, and buy. Of course we added the obligatory wine on the railing photo. Cheer!
What a precious gem! The views all around are spectacular. You have the views of the mountains, rolling hills, pond, vines, trees, endless beauty for miles. The staff is super sweet, the wine was all good, the entertainment was Great! The bratwurst was so yummy. The only thing I have to suggest is to have the staff know about wine, do a tasting with them on your wines because when we would ask our bartender the notes on the wines she kept pointing to the sign. She had no idea what to say. Btw the ride there was the most fun ride ever because youre going up and down a mountain, so its like being in a roller coaster, super cool. We will be back!
Came here while vacationing in Hiawassee, GA. This was my first time at a vineyard and I will definitely be back next time I’m up in this area! The staff (David and Emily) were very friendly and helpful with picking out out wines for me and my boyfriend, we have very different taste in wine but both found ones we loved! The views were gorgeous, and the wine was delicious! Left with a bottle to take home. Plus as a bonus they are dog friendly and had 4 pups of their own running around who were all so sweet. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves great wine and a relaxed atmosphere!
Beautiful winery, very picturesque. I can see why people have weddings here! Staff were lovely and let you taste up to six wines for free. Also had ample outdoor seating including a large function are where they also do tapas style dinners of an evening. Wine is also all vegan...yay!
Holy cats this place is amazing! We were here last year when they were at the bottom of the hill. The new gathering location is stunning and looks like an Italian villa. The wine is amazing, we recommend trying the Noiret as it was the best one in our flight. The scenery is amazing and it’s so relaxing getting to sit back, look out over the vineyard and sip wine
One of my favorite places to go when in the mountains. The view is spectacular and so is their rosé. I don’t often like southern wineries because I find it hard to find wine I genuinely like but I always have to bring home a few bottles from Crane Creek. The Stone House was a wonderful addition to their facilities and the service is always excellent. I just can’t wait to go back.
I’ve been coming to Crane Creek since they opened. I’ve never been disappointed at any of my visits. The Vineyard has grown substantially as has their wine selection. Throughout their growth the owner and staff have always been extraordinarily friendly and helpful unlike many of their counterparts. If you want a great place to spend an afternoon, come sit on their patio, enjoy a flight or a glass, and hear of the journey of how Crane Creek was established.Great place for a Sunday afternoon date, a girls wine party, or just a solo get away to relax. One of my all-time Georgia favorites.
Lovely grounds and views. I wenton a Friday night. They had live music that was really nice. Paris and Co were serving boxed dinners and appetizers. Smelled and tasted good. I gave the place 4stars rather than 5 because their wines are mediocre and over priced. The best wine they have is the Hellbender. Priced at $36 plus tax making it a $38 bottle.
Picturesque view, similar to something youd experience in CA wine country. Staff makes you feel like youre in their home. You can take a glass of wine with you as you walk through the vineyard. Next time, we will make a reservation for Friday night Tapas and make an evening of it!
My sister, father and I had the absolute best lunch here! The menu is well curated and wine list is solid. Gorgeous scenery, friendly service, and yummy food. We couldnt be happier and will definitely be back. Hats off to owners Sid and Nina for making Crane Creek such a gorgeous destination!
Gorgeous property with plenty of shaded socially distance spots to enjoy wine 🍷 with great views. We did a flight of wine and the enjoyed a glass of our favorite pick. We also enjoyed walking around the property. Its very scenic and well maintained.Only compliant is no cheese board... you basically buy a block of cheese in the wrapper and box of crackers. Not sure if this was set up that way because of COVID or it is usually always that way?
After a strenuous day hike up Blood Mountain, a relaxing wine tasting was just what we needed. The place is beautiful and peaceful. We are from Northeast Ohio where there are quite a few wineries, and the wine quality was very similar, with the whites generally better than the reds and the sweeter wines generally better than the drier wines..
The actual winery is great! Delicious wine for great prices, HOWEVER, if you’re considering coming to an Aperitivo Friday... be prepared to spend a lot of money for a shameful amount of food & poorly prepared as well. We spend over $50 on a charcuterie board that was simply ONE slice of cheddar and two pieces of Brie with a piece of cold cut & two deli sliced sandwiches. It was honestly the most disrespectful thing that I’ve experienced in quite a while. The catering company the winery does business with is ridiculously disappointing and upsetting considering the type of ambiance. We’re from Miami, we’re accustomed to up charges, but at least we get our money’s worth. Also, the turkey sliders are just deli turkey, not even burger style turkey. I got better food at my elementary’s cafeteria. Come for the wine, go to dinner elsewhere.
We had such a pleasant afternoon at this vineyard. Our party had a couple bottles of wine and some cheese and crackers. We sat on their porch and enjoyed the afternoon sun and cool climate. The hosts were very cordial as well. Id definitely go back -- which I think is the greatest compliment!
We tried a lot of wineries in the area and this one has the best wine and best atmosphere. You can taste wine before you decide on what you want. Very dog friendly- bring your fur babies! Plus, the place is so pretty, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. They have a lot of options, red and white, and everything we tried was very yummy.
With the virus scare and no work, my wife and I decided to make the drive to the mountains for some winery visits. We started our day with lunch at Paris and Company at Crane Creek Vineyards. The restaurant was great. Food was very good along with the service. Due to the virus scare the crowds were nonexistent which was our hope. The reds we had with lunch were great but our visit went down hill after lunch when we walked up to the tasting room for some additional wine tastings and our plan to purchase some wine for our collection of North Georgia wines. There was a group of about 5 or six young ladies doing a tasting being waited on by the man behind the counter. We milled around the store for 5-10 minutes then stood at the counter waiting to be helped for about 15-20 minutes but we were not even acknowledged as being there. After 30 minutes we walked out and left for the next winery. As we pulled out, my wife said, “What, are we invisible.” I just laughed. It was a shame since we really enjoyed the wines we had with lunch and wanted to purchase some for our collection.
I couldnt possibly recommend this winery more. The staff is friendly and the wines are fantastic. The staff is friendly and happy to help. The stories and experiences of the members of the staff are what i find most fun. The same person who pours your wine is very likely to have helped pick the grapes used within it. Its truly a North Georgia Mountains hidden gem and i always enjoy my time there.
Great place to enjoy a wide variety of really good wines, sit back and enjoy the mountain scenery, meet other local people and either snack on food from their coolers or bring your own picnic basket. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have plenty of seating options that let you feel like you have your own private oasis to enjoy your wine and gaze over the vast acreage of vines, lakes and mountains. They have clean restrooms which is always a plus.
Visited In January 2019. The 2 hour drive up from Atlanta was beautiful with winding roads and beautiful scenery. I had corresponded with Emily at the winery prior to my arrival. When I introduced myself to her she was very friendly and excited to see us. The entire staff is super friendly and very helpful! We did the tasting of 6 wines for $10. After the tasting, we bought a bottle of wine and walked over to Holly Hill which is an indoor venue. They also have a covered patio outside of their main Tasting Room. Its worth the trip! Its like stepping back in time.
Absolutely beautiful. My girlfriend and I visited and tried several of their wines. We got a bottle of Sweet Sally, and sat out on the porch taking in the sights and playing with the owners dogs. This was the perfect end to an unforgettable trip. We will definitely be returning next time we are on vacation.
We had a fantastic visit at Crane Creek Vineyards, especially since we could bring our dog! Loved the wine tasting with Katie. After that we took a stroll through the vineyards guided by Scruffy. When we sat to enjoy the bottle of wine that we purchased Crash kept us great company while we enjoyed the views.
We came to crane creek oh a whim while on a short trip to GA, I am so glad we did! The wine was great and the company so friendly! Emily was very knowledgeable about the wines and we had great conversation. Dave recommended a spot for us to have dinner and it was amazing!! If you are in the area definitely visit this winery you will not be disappointed!
My family came to Crane Creek the day after Christmas 2015. The staff was extremely friendly and patient with us as we participated in the wine tasting and was happy to explain the differences in all their wines. The location was beautiful, so we enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio in the afternoon, as we watched geese and the dogs play. The prices were also very reasonable.
Youll have a splendid time under the shade of the weeping willow. Youll be wondering if youre still in Georgia or in France. Theres outdoor seating, rain or shine. Friday night music and food available from time to time or cheese and crackers. Its dog friendly and you can bring snacks. Enjoy :)
We moved to Hiawassee about 11 years ago and soon began visiting vineyards in the surrounding area. Of course, we visited Crane Creek and fell in love with it, the wine, the people, and the peaceful, beautiful environment. We felt like we had been plucked out of northeastern Georgia and placed right in northern Italy. While we visited several other vineyards, we kept going right back to Crane Creek. We have enjoyed every visit and every function attended. Other than the exceptional wine, much of our pleasure has come from Dave Sanford who has made our wine tasting experiences most enjoyable and educational, treating us like family every time we visited. And a shout out for Darbie, too. The wine is great !! The food is great !! The people are great !! What else does one need ?? Thank you Dave and thank you to the owner, Eric, for making this possible.
I had a wonderful time up until the vineyard tour. As the tour guide was discussing the vines, he (Matthew I believe) proceeded to refer to picking suckers as ‘monkey work’. As, an African American female, I took offense to the comment. My friend and I planned to have another glass of wine and even purchase a bottle, but quite frankly, after that insensitive comment, I didn’t want to support Crane Creek. There were plenty of nice employees and people that I met, but this review is solely based on my experience with the tour.
Absolutely one of my favorite vineyards in the North Georgia Mountains. The reds and whites are delicious and the atmosphere and surroundings are just incredible. David and the staff are top-notch! A not-to-miss event is their New Years Eve party. Incredible food put together by David and unlimited wines and live music. I look forward to this party every year. Oh and if you love puppies, they have three adorable ones running around (Crash, Peanut, and Scruffy) and occasionally begging for food (Peanut especially!). All in all, a great place to check out. You wont be disappointed.
A wonderful opportunity to stop and taste fine wines and relax in a bucolic setting, overlooking the vineyards. Do not pass up this chance to detox from a fast-paced lifestyle. Wine selection is varied - something for everyone. If you like gewurztraminer, dont pass up Crane Creeks Traminette. Lovely fruit and spice. Will definitely make the effort to visit again.
Crane Creek Vineyard was a home away from home. It was a beautiful landscape, the tasting room was an old house that was very welcoming, and the staff was the epitome of customer service. My girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to this hidden gem for our New Years Eve. There was a New Years Eve Party that we went to. Since it was dark we parked in what we thought was gravel. Just to find out our car was stuck in the mud! Happy new year, right? The owner, Eric, eased our minds. He got us a ride back to our hotel. His son picked us up from the hotel in the morning. Then, we had to get a tow truck to pull our car out of the mud. Eric would NOT lets us pay for it.So overall...Pros: Fantastic Wine, Great Price, Amazing Customer ServiceCons: Little Bit out of the WayI felt SO at home and could not recommend this place more. Turned a potential disaster into a great experience. Eric and his family were so welcoming. If you are considering it, STOP, and just go. You wont regret it.
This was my second visit to Crane Creek Vineyards along with my college roommate of 50 years ago who lives in Hiawassee and three of my dearest friends who joined me on this trip from Illinois. I love this little hidden treasure in these beautiful mountains along with the wonderful staff and guests. The wines are wonderful especially relaxing on the terrace overlooking the gorgeous vineyards. Every trip here I plan to visit my little secret place!
I had my wedding here in September & everyone at Crane Creek Vineyard was amazing! The staff is super friendly. Jill helped me coordinate the event there and she was always pleasant! I could not have asked for a more beautiful place to get married at! The day of they did everything and more for us. I would recommend anyone getting married here or just stopping by for a glass of wine!
My family and I came up to vacation in Warne from Florida. At a local brewery, they recommended Crane Creek. We went out the next day around sunset during the aperitivo Friday. What an experience!!! Delicious wine, knowledgable and friendly staff.GORGEOUS SITE. Highlight of our trip definietely. We spent equal time enjoying the view and wine as trying to take photos. I could see my wedding here one day. Come out and see this gemstone of this area!!
Horrible experience. We were rushed through5the wine tasting. We tasted 6 wines in less than 15 minutes. Offered nothibg5to cleanse urban palate. It seemed as though we bothered then for tasting their wine . The wines were just mediocre. Not at all special. This could have been a pleasant experience. The groundsecond are attractive. As a wine critique, my advice is to stay clear of the winery.
Beautifully located but... a group of ten came in and the man owner was very curt and told them they should’ve made a reservation. Nothing on website that says this. No matter what, you don’t say things like that to your customers. We weren’t in that group of ten but my Observations saw that group was made to feel uncomfortable. The staff was not as friendly as they could’ve been. Took away from our experience. Also wines not that good.
Oh man! Haha I havent the slightest clue when it comes to wine but a vineyard was on my bucket list so while we were up here, we looked up all the vineyards in the area but this one caught my eye the best. So we ventured out today. I walked up to the counter feeling extremely intimidated that Id say or do the wrong thing. Within the very first minute, the girl behind the counter had us all extremely at ease and relaxed which is a lot to ask from someone like me Haha. She had me feeling very confident in what I was drinking. I was able to taste 6 different wines for a GREAT price, then purchase a bottle for us to sit out and relax and drink. We even wandered around the vineyard a bit and took in the sites. The wine was delicious. We ended up getting a case of 6 to take home. The only thing I left disappointed in was that Id selected a tee shirt at the beginning of our visit there which she wrapped up and held onto for us but when we were leaving I changed my mind on the shirt and swapped it out for a different one which shes then started to wrap. When we got home I found it was the one I didnt want which broke my heart a little but it was too late to go back. I do believe the guests Id brought with me are going to make it any annual trip. If Im ever back out this way, Ill definitely stop by. They have the cutest dogs too who love to walk you in and out Haha.
Disappointing and frustrating visit. And I cannot imagine very returning. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we went =with friends from Florida for lunch and wine tasting. (Their website posts that lunch is served on Saturdays from 11-6). We drove for 45 minutes, arriving at 2:40 only to learn that they were out of food. Surprised I responded, Wow, the Thanksgiving holiday must have brought in extra people to which the owner responded, We usually run out of food by 3. How absolutely inconsiderate to post lunch until 6 knowing that they never prepare enough to last until 6! We have purchased many bottles of wine on previous visits, and the wine is okay, especially for the low price (averages about $20 a bottle). However, we wont be back,
My wife and I enjoyed a perfect day at ClusterFest 2015. Great music, great food, great wines, complemented by perfect weather in a lovely setting. We enjoyed chatting with the staff (who were working diligently all day to make the event run smoothly) and strolling through the vineyards. If you are planning to be in the Young Harris area, I highly recommend a visit to Crane Creek Vineyards.

2022-06-12A beautiful experience! We tried the Wine Flight which was perfect for only 12 dollars each. Purchased some cheese to enjoy with our wine. The view was breathe-taking with its mountain scape and endless rows of vineyards. Purchased wine bottles! We would definitely visit again! 🍷

2021-10-31Great wines, friendly staff, and gorgeous views from the new tasting room! Have been coming here for over 10 years and it never disappoints. The new tasting room is perfect for the growing Georgia wine scene. More room, parking, and space to hang out and enjoy some wine.

2021-11-05The most beautiful vineyard that we’ve been to so far. The views that you get to see as your sipping wine can’t be compared. Friendly staff makes this vineyard a real treat. Handicap parking is always a bonus.

2021-07-08The stone house where we went to taste wine was lovely. The views are stunning and the ambiance is classy. People brought well-behaved dogs. We had a well-behaved baby. Flights were $12 for 4 tastes with lots of options for toys of wine. Id like to see some great food options to go with a glass of wine while taking in the scenery up at the stone house. I look forward to going back and trying a meal at Paris & Co. Unfortunately, the market was closed. It would be a smart thing to have a sign up at the stone house to tell guests that before they drive down, park, and walk up the lot only to find its closed.

2021-08-20All of these stars are for the view - it gets a 10 for that. We went to the Stone House tasting room and the views were absolutely stunning. It caught me by surprise to say the least. It rivals the Napa Valley vineyards, but much more homey feel - not a ritzy tourist trap like Napa. Out of the 4 vineyards we visited on our trip, this was the most beautiful. Between the two of us, we tried 8 wines (2 flights of 4). Each flight was $12. There were a few wines that rose above the rest, but none of them ended up making the “bottle purchase cut”. Also, while the staff were very friendly and helpful, it wasn’t the most “personal” experience we’ve had this far. For those reasons I didn’t give it a 5. But wine tasting is very much a personal perspective and I highly recommend everyone stop here for a try. You will not regret it.

2021-11-21Gorgeous view, delicious wines, excellent cheese board, patio with a fire going - the ambiance was just perfect! The bottle designs are lovely too - super excited to use the bubbly for gifts this year.

2021-10-16A lovely October day in the mountains. Nice surprise. Enjoying a glass of wine and aged cheddar crackers. If you enjoy vineyards like we do, worth your stop. We left the Dahlonega Plateau, where we live, to make a stop here.

2022-06-22Gorgeous views and delicious wine. Definitely worth a visit. The only thing that would make this better is a small tapas menu.
