After having aquatic physical therapy, I am now going on my own to continue my workout. Senior citizens can go free during adult swim and open swim times if their insurance has plans such as Silver & Fit, Silver Sneakers, Renew Active. Check to see if your plan is included. Wonderful facility, 3 pools. I use the instructional pool. They also offer various aquatic exercise classes.
This is a great aquatic center! Ive been to the indoor and outdoor pool, but have spent the most time outside. It has a fantastic section for small children with a gradual rise. Theres a lazy river, which is not so lazy. Theres also one slide. However, there is no wave pool or deep water area outside. The food is ok- its pool food. The indoor pool is nice. This place is always pretty packed with lots of people. Im giving 4 stars due to no outside deep water area.
I checked their website this morning and yesterday to plan to take my daughter there today on a Saturday. We showed up to learn that they closed the entire facility for a swim meet. I dont understand why a swim meet needs exclusive access to the outdoor leisure pool or the instructional pool. Obviously, I can understand the competition pool. Along with my daughter, we watched countless families and their little ones walk away disappointed and of course the little ones were crying. What a horrible way to run a community adminity. Im sure a whole lot of those people there were from another county.
The pool was crystal clear, the lazy river was a swift but relaxing treat, and the concessions were reasonably priced. Get there early because there is a limit of swimmers per session. But there was plenty of space to social distance and the facilities had hand sanitizer and cleaning solutions available. This visit exceeded my expectations.
Very nice pool complex open year round with something for all ages and abilities including non-swimmers and the handicapped. I have been enjoying this place 3 times a week playing water Volleyball for the last 2 or 3 year. Volleyball is played Mon 7pm-8:30pm Tue & Thu 9:55am-10:55amThe complex has a huge indoor competition pool with swim lanes and multiple height diving boards. Water Polo is played. During competitions, observers can take an elevator to the second floor where bleacher seating overlooks the competition pool. Also indoors is a large heated pool used for swimming lessons, water aerobics classes, Silver Sneakers water classes, physical therapy, water volleyball, some lap swimming and free swim. It is handicap accessible with both a long sloping ramp and a chair lift. This pool has a jetted seating area, a deep water floating area and open area with painted swim lanes. The water temperature is warm, much warmer than the competition pool, but it does seem to very from day to day. Also indoors are the mens and womens locker rooms, several meeting rooms one of which is used for the Silver Sneakers fitness class, and vending machines. The outdoor pool area is open seasonal and has water slides, a lazy river float oval, a splash and spray kid area, and shallow playing area. There is also plenty of room to sunbathe and a snack stand.
Went with my 4 years old son to the pool for the first time just to check it out before he starts swim classes.I am strongly reconsidering to cancel his classes:- locker room way too small (both lockers and room): it was so crowded my son got his face few inches from peoples bottoms while changing him. the room is really old and small for such a large aquatic center- Cold water and building: my son and I got diarrhea the day after, they turn the AC on so we get cold when out of water (I saw several reviews complaining about it). Really cold water too- Dirty, I am sorry but I did not see a lot of people taking shower before getting in the pool. It is over 90F outside, we all get sweat... Thats ashame the shower room is really large compare to the locker room
This is such a fun park. I was actually fairly impressed with the lifeguards as well. I can imagine its tempting to socialize as a young adult in a fun environment like that, but they swapped out quickly and were very attentive. The park was clean, took everyones temperature, and was just a good time over all.
The facilities arent as family friendly as they should be for new construction. There is only ONE family changing room shared by all the pools.Children over the age of 6 arent allowed in the changing room/ showers of the opposite sex so more family changing rooms would make sense. The building is kept quite cold, which makes waiting on the family changing room after a swim a bit miserable. Even wrapped in a towel, my infant shivered. But its not a bad center. Clean. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices.
My wife and I came here Friday with our 5 month old baby girl with no issues what so ever they even let us use a float for our baby. We had a great time. We come today we are told we cant use the float for our baby and we payed $14 bucks to have our baby splashed and almost kicked we stayed a whole 24 minutes. THESE PEOPLE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SAFETY
Im a senior citizen and I am not happy with this aquatic center. I have heard several senior citizens complaining about it also. We paid for a full month, but this past July the pool was closed five days out of the month. In addition to this, many times the water is too cold and I can not enjoy it. The facility is not sanitary or safe. There is always lots of water in the restroom floors and in the main lobby area. I find it hard believe that someone has not slipped and fell. Its just a matter of time before someone gets injured. I have contacted the assistant city manager and the director of the aquatic center. They were more interested in telling me what they think instead of listening to my concerns and what other senior adults are saying. What a shame to have such a beautiful community asset, but no one capable of managing its staff to take care of it in a professional manner.
BE AWARE IF IT THUNDERS YOU WILL HAVE TO LEAVE THE OUTDOOR PREMISES BEYOND THE GATE. We visited today (8/5/20) with a few friends and our kids for the 2:30 pm session. At 4:45 pm there was a single thunder sound. The lifeguards insisted that not only did everyone have to get out of the water we also had to leave the outdoor premises. We paid for a session until 6 pm and asked if we would be able to swim again if the weather cleared up. They said we have to wait 30 minutes outside the gates and could only come back in if we had our receipts. At minute 28 a second thunder clap sounded and the lifeguards erupted laughing and celebrating that meant we would have to leave. A tall guy...the manager I presume, came to tell our group that we wouldn’t be able to go back in. We commented on how their reaction was rude and he agreed.
Awesome place to go swimming in the Forsyth area. The indoor pools are always clean, and plenty deep (I believe one is 9 or so feet down). The outdoor pools are nice in that it resembles a small outdoor water park. Nice place for kids and adults alike. For the adults, there are swimming trainers, swimming contests, and those who just want to relax, a kind of water propelled jet stream tub like area built into one of the inside pools. There are locker rooms, of which also contain showers and a dryer for your trunks. The prices are, hands down dirt cheap for a single day pass, or if you prefer the annual pass, it defintely pays for its self after a few visits.
Normally dont put reviews but after taking my daughter for the first time..I am compelled to write hoping they might read this and take some measures.I took my 6 year old for the first time..class session was 50 mins and my she was probably on the water swimming for just about 5 mins of the whole time!Sorry to say but we felt we wasted our time and money with this center..the coaching style Is pathetic!. Please see how Atlanta swim academy operates..how they keep the kids moving the whole 30 mins and train at the same time...they are in the pool.
The last time I went there was last Summer and there were plenty of lounge chairs available and there was a concession stand with lots of yummy foods for kids and adults which made it a fun experience. The last time I went was last Summer, but I plan on going soon before the Summer is over.
My daughter loves this place. However, the height you need to be to go on the slide is ridiculous. She can go on roller coasters at six flags, down water slides at white water, she swims and flips, but she cant go down a little water slide at the aquatic center. Not even with a parent. You really do need to change this. You dont need a life guard at the bottom for a 17 year old.
I really struggled with how to put in words how I feel about the treatment of senior citizens and the handicapped from this center. In my blunt and honest opinion I believe that the aquatic center and the city of Cumming have purposefully set out to rid the center of all senior citizens and handicapped with the exception of those who are enrolled in paid exercise programs.I feel the director of the center(which appears to be a ghost due not ever being available in person or on the phone) has given strict orders to turn the instructional pool into a cube of ice. This pool is suppose to be heated between 83 to 86 degrees, however the temperature is lowering on each visit. Im guessing on my visit last week it was 68 to 72 degrees. For senior citizens and the handicapped this is extremely dangerous and very uncomfortable. Water at that temperature causes severe muscle spasms and negates the purpose of trying to relieve our aches and pains.I and many others have voiced our concerns over this issue, however it falls on deaf ears.It is time for the director to either resign or take care of the concerns of the centers customers. This aquatic center is large enough to accommodate people of all ages. However it appears they are mainly focused on getting as much money as possible from the families with children.I once voiced my concern and was told to take it to the mayor! Thats shows you just how much the staff really thinks of the senior population. Its a shame that a rural county like Habersham can accommodate the needs of all its citizens fairly but Forsyth County is only set out to satisfy the greater needs of those who provide the most revenue. Also I would like to thank the center for its generosity in allowing the seniors and handicapped one full hour on Sunday to soak our aching bodies in a block of ice before opening the floodgates and allowing what feels like hundreds of small children into the pool with us. Its extremely difficult to run for cover without being bumped, splashed and even knocked over before navigating our way through the maze. Shame on you for not caring enough about the handicap and senior citizens to just turn the temperature of the water up.
Booked my daughters birthday party at the Cumming Aquatic Center on 04-21-19 on 02-20-19 and I paid the deposit (see attached screenshot). This was the only day available that suited our calendars as there are many swim meets at the Aquatic center. We have handwritten invitations for her friends at school as well as set up a Facebook Invite page, planned a cake and food, had people RSVP to this event as well as my daughter has grown increasingly excited about her party. Well on Friday 04-05-19 I got a call from Anne at the Cumming Aquatic Center saying that Oh we are closed that day for Easter Sunday. Firstly I thought that this is a Christian Holiday that this would not be celebrated (I am a Christian, so this is not a comment about faith, but why is this center closed for a Christian holiday, yet the state and church are supposedly separate?), secondly if there are computer systems and schedules in place, why was there not an X over the 4/21 date indicating they were closed, and thirdly how is it okay to ruin a kids birthday party when the mother booked 6 weeks in advance? What am I supposed to do now? I had to email her teacher to somehow send a letter to all of the children she invited at school so none of them turn up for her non-existent party. So disgusted over something so stupid. The more I think about it the more annoyed I get. If this was your kids party how would you feel?
Theyre doing a good job with reduced capacity. However, theres now often a line to get it which Im ok with. What Im not ok with is having my temp taken after standing in the blaring sun for 15 or more minutes and then told I cant come in because I have a fever. Im totally ok with temp taken, just do it when I arrive not after being in 90+ deg sun for a decent period of time.
I put my kids in the swimming lessons here was not happy when they came home and told me the teach said she would let me drown if she ket go of kick board, she also told my children that there parents should of thought them to swim when they were 2 weeks old and they wouldnt have to be there.

2021-08-23We had a fantastic birthday party here today! The pool is always very clean and the lifeguards are super alert. We had a rain delay near the end of the day, but waited it out and had an entire hour at the outdoor pool almost all to ourselves (maybe 30 people total)!

2022-05-26Love their swimming program and facilities compared to many other like swim Atlanta. Most of the coaches are awesome. We had one bad experience with a coach where the coach instead of encouraging kids, kind of threatened the kids where they fell short of the expectations. Other than that, we love this place

2022-03-14For a local community pool with a fantastic outdoor pool featuring a big water slide lazy river plenty of fun for the kids plus great food and includes the main indoor pool with easy access handicap accessible. Plus a giant completion pool with 3 diving pools just could be alittle cheaper and warmer inside

2022-06-26I truly wish there was a separate review for the concessions stand. The Center itself, is a great place for kids to have fun, beat the heat, and doesnt cost a fortune!!Concessions stand could use some training in customer service and hours of operation.. Unfortunately I am currently injured and unable to walk. The girl working the window felt the need to inform my daughter(9yrs old), LITERALLY THE LAST PERSON IN LINE, they were closing early; and the kid in front of her was going to be the last one served!!She was only getting an Italian ice, and it WAS 4:50PM!!!I think it is very rude and distasteful how she addressed my daughter.. its not like she walked up there at 4:59 asking for a well-done 22oz steak!!Instead of taking the short amount of time to help, she chose to turn her away 10 minutes before 5; denying her the chance to try it, and leaving me highly upset.

2021-12-04This place was absolutely amazing. My granddaughter celebrating her tenth birthday with all of her friends had a blast. She was able to have a party with all of her friends and then swim for three hours inside with a heated pool. Very nice place.
