Great customer service especially in the footwear department. The lady Jerae is the best she is very friendly and knows her stuff. If she doesnt know shell find the answer. The whole store is pretty good but the lady in footwear sure know how to make a person feel good about buying some shoes
Brought a basketball from there that had a leak in it. I called today on 02/10/2019 to find out the return policy, and the associate that assisted me with her deep southern accent was rude and unprofessional. Basically rushed me off of the phone because she was, with another customer as if my call and line of questiininq was invalid. Terrible customer service. I was shocked when she said, Honey, I got to go, Im with another customer..... Ill shop at Academy Sports. Their customer service is much better, and Ive never brought a defective product from them.
Bad experience and we will never shop at the Newnan location again. We were shopping for cleats and there was a male employee assisting someone else. We waited for him to finish so he could assist us. Well, he disappeared in the back stockroom knowing that we needed help; i pushed the need help button but he never came out to assist us. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! Very poor customer service! I could have been a secret shopper.
Waited in the firearms department for about 20-30 minutes and skimmed a few isle looking for something. Couldn’t get any help from anyone, they had 1 lady at the front register trying to handle customers by herself. The franchise has went downhill since being anti-nra.
Stood at the gun counter for 20 minutes trying to buy a handgun without anybody saying a word to me. I had cash in hand ready to purchase and was not even acknowledged. I completely understand having to wait if theres somebody ahead of me, but at least recognize that Im standing there. Even a simple be right with you sir. I guess these guys dont really care about customer service.
Went to the Dicks store in Newnan, Ga.. its really big! They got everything down there.. Staff was friendly and attentive! Female staffer help me make a decision,which I was going back and forth on for like 30 minutes..But, I mainly go to the Fayetteville,Ga Dicks store.. Its a nice store too!
Worst experience ever. Met my daughter there up from college to buy some shoes for her. Told the sales associate, Devon I think was his name, that she needed a 10.5 he said thats pretty big for a ladies foot I doubt we carry anything that big. Seeing the look on my daughters face was heart wrenching. After I told him I couldnt believe he said that he said he was sorry for offending me...not her...me! He never even looked at her. This was yesterday (9/20/17) and Im still upset about it. Im sure she is too. Manager did apologize but damage was done. Ive always been a big supporter of the Dicks stores statewide. But after this I dont think I can anymore.
Horrible experience. Came from out of town to get basketball shoes. The older gentleman helping us had no clue how to find shoes in the back. Spent 30 minutes trying to find them. Told us just to pick something else that was on the shelf. I told him we wanted those shoes could someone else help us. He said NO. Then he said “all these shoes and you can’t just pick something else “. Very rude. Terrible customer service. We left and went to Hibbetts.
Have been to the usual Big Box Sporting Goods stores and these folks are by far the more competent of them all, pricing is higher but its worth it to have the convenience of local shopping.Place things into perspective and it can be an enjoyable experience, as a consumer its my responsibility to know about the product I am looking for.
Store Associate Fatu should really get hit with a reality check. Extremely rude and definitely not someone I would want to deal with again. Didnt know how to do a simple return then acted like it was my fault. No girl. You just dont know what youre doing. Manager Godfrey came over and she basically ran him. So not sure if he doesnt know how to condemn his employees or what. Would not recommend. I spent an hour in the store trying to return something. Took the same thing to the store in Atlanta and it took them 10 mins. Will not be going back to this one.
I bought a badminton bag comes with 4 rackets and 3 shuttles yesterday.It broke while I was playing with the new racket this morning, I cannot believe this product can only hold for once. Well I got 3 rackets left, let’s see what happens tomorrow.I guess the quality is reasonable because they sell it for $20. If you wanna have fun with playing badminton, get some Yonex racket online, DO NOT GO DICK’s SPORT.Update: all rackets are broken 11/4/2019
The kayak I ordered was “picked-up” but not by me.Terrible customer service. Actually had an associate tell me to just call right back then hung up on me. Nothing like having to go though the same conversation because an associate is to lazy to take care of the situation.
Impossible to find help, when you do find the help good luck finding someone who is knowledgeable about the item you seek. Refuse to do any further business with this establishment due to their recent stance on 2nd amendment and removal of firearms they deem public should not own. Self righteous upper management.
If i could give 0 stars i would bought item offline and paid extra $20 for express delivery,only not to get my package or a reason contacted management only to be told its fedexs fault and he would contact me if found anything out. Still no word. Place is a joke and im out of $70 now . Good little hustle they have i guess.
Service, or lack thereof is PATHETIC. Its honestly worse than Wal-Mart which is shameful. Where do I start? The guy in The Lodge using chewing tobacco while hes on the clock and behind the counter, I will give him credit for actually being at the counter though. Any other time you can never find a soul around. I cant wait til the Academy opens.

2022-06-11I’ve been shopping here for years but the last 2 times I have been to this store makes it hard for me to continue shopping here. The cashiers are absolutely worthless and slow. Today, there were 3 employees at the register talking among themselves. We put our items on the counter and were ignored for a few minutes til they were done talking. Then one decided to actually do his job. While scanning our items he keep looking around the store/ past me and continued talking with co-workers. He realized after he scanned most of my items that he wasn’t actually ringing anything into the system. Maybe they should pay more attention to doing their job instead of having social hour at work. Looks like Academy Sports will be getting more business!

2021-11-21Today is November 21. The Braves won the World Series 3 weeks ago. They are selling Braves word series hats ON DISPLAY AT THE FRONT DOOR. The hats have barcodes, prices, everything yet the manager says, “They can’t sell them.” Management is completely clueless. Offered a discount on the other items they were mostly sold out of. When I asked if they had another size of a jacket they said “if we have it, it’s out there.” It’s tough to say if they were more lazy or unintelligent but clearly the employees in this store have no interest in customer service

2020-03-12Josh helped me in the Hunting section with some items I saw online. Josh went above and beyond to get the correct size shipped to my house at the sale price of 60% less than the normal price. Outstanding customer service that Will keep me coming back to the Newnan store. Thanks!

2016-05-09Absolutely excellent store. Great location for a day of shopping, but its the staff that make this stand out! I tested some new drivers for over an hour with nothing but patience and great advice from Eric, one of the managers. They also gave advice that ended up saving me a lot of money on an off brand yeti cooler. This is such a great store to visit and the personal service makes it top in Newnan for sports equipment and apparel.
