I have had very good care for my dog here. I came to them highly recommended by several people including someone who worked with the shelter. I had been looking for somewhere else after a bad experience elsewhere. I have been very happy and always feel like I leave knowing how to care for him and what to do. Update several years later and Im still very happy 😊
This is probably my 10th vet in the last 12 years. Hands down the best when it comes to care, pricing, handling of my animals, and promptness with scheduling. Sometimes they get a little behind, but with the amount of money you’ll save, the wait is well worth it. Thank you so much for what you do Dogwood.
I used to love Dogwood. I defended them when EVERYONE else was telling me how awful they are.. well, they were right. TERRIBLE attitudes and overcharging for unnecessary tests/meds waiting hours after your appointment time to get seen and ESPECIALLY the I dont care attitudes lost them a loyal customer thats been going there for YEARS ! They proved today that they could care less.. The receptionist/vet tech was more worried about trying to argue over me than listening. Since they remodeled the business and Dr. Shawnee plus all the older vet techs/receptionist left the clinic it has REALLY went downhill! Do yourself a favor and dont waste your time!! Rude, Condescending and Arrogant. No follow up call about this experience from anyone in charge.
I have 6 cats that are, of course, Not fond of the vet. I followed Dr. Norman there from her previous Employer because All of my kitties love her. The facility is clean, their employees are nice, knowledgeable and was very good at handling my babies! Which is the most Important thing to me!!! The facility is actually around 15 mins further than their prior vets office BUT Dr. Norman is worth it, she is Amazing! Besides my cats loving her, she is very thorough and so caring! She goes above and beyond to make sure your kids are well taken care of, before yall walk out the door!
Will never go there again.took my cat there, as I could not get into my vet.urinary issue, they took a urine sample, gave him a rabies shot, which I did not get a certificate for, and did a sonagram. Purchased meds for three days, they said they would call the next day about the results of the urine test.NEVER received a call and when I finally called back the second day after, they just told me to take him to blue pearl....no explanation, nothing....ended up taking him to my vet on Sat.after 3 days of him suffering, and got real help for him.ay a fraction of the cost....your indifference was appalling.do not take your cat there ever....they are AWFUL.
My cats get there annual shots here. Exam rooms are quiet, relaxing with classical music and pheromone candles or sprays if needed. I love that Im allowed in the exam room and the staff has always been wonderful with suggestions and caring for each animals unique needs. Highly recommend.
FANTASTIC clinic and staff. They always treat my pets with such care. Very affordable. Never had an issue so far. The veterinarians have always been very informative of any concerns with my pets. I actually had a pet pass there over these past few months (in an emergency situation) I personally watched the doctors and staff do everything they possibly could to save him. He was just too far gone before I could get him there. They were very kind in handling his death and gave me great closure on his illness. Even printed out an information chart for me to better understand. Last year my cat was hit by car and crushed, they were able to save her and help me with her recovery step by step. Now you never even know she was hit. :) I go to Dogwood for everything and Ill never regret it. Being kind to people who are kind to you gets you a long way.
I was charged last week for $75 for an eye ointment for my sweet elder dog that I still have not received. They havent even emailed me the prescription and I have called several times since last week. Very unreliable but quick to take your money. I have never experienced such a high level of unprofessionalism from a veterinarian before. This is straight up negligent.Update: over a week later they still do not have his medicine in stock. They attempted to fix the situation and even brought up this review and requested I fix it.
Dogwood Park Animal Clinic was suggested to me. My husband brought home 2 dogs he found at work. The pups were under a year old and were skin and bones. After deciding to keep the pups, we were looking for a vet that was not terribly expensive.Everyone that I came in contact with at Dogwood Park Animal Clinic are so very nice.-My one recommendation would to be to update all paperwork and web site with the time to drop your animal off and pick up for spay/neuter. I signed multi paper work and the web site says pick up at 5 PM and I received a text at 2:45 PM saying my dogs were ready to be picked up between 1:45 PM- and 4:30 PM. When calling the office the one person that I felt could have had a little more sympathy and changed the tone in her voice was very stern and not accommodating when stating the time change and I have made arrangements with work. One of the vet techs/assistants was VERY nice, made sure she answered all of my questions and was not in a rush.- Second, when spaying/neutering they request/require a collar so the animals do not lick. I thought it was great that the front desk suggested to price around, they charge a flat $15 regardless of the size. I have two big dogs so it was cheaper to use theirs, wish I knew to ask what kind of cone it was. Theirs you have to use a collar or some type of tie, and they are white. My dog had a hard time adjusting to it. I felt like if i used the clear snap ones they would have adjusted better.-Third would be to have you guys a little closer to town =)Over all my experience was great! Planning to go back and would recommend other to go too. But this time hoping the bill will be much cheaper since this is not their first visit and all the tests
Decent, great with my dogs spay, the cats spay incision was bunched up and took way longer to heal than it should have, it did heal though without intervention, but they did a great job on my dog. Quick results for testing, reasonable price. They treat your animals well.
They are so knowledgeable and friendly. Very efficient!Update during Covid: It was excellent given the virus circumstances and precautions. The team did an excellent job of getting my dog in for his checkup, keeping me posted on his vitals, etc and speaking to the doctor via text throughout the appointment. It did not take much longer than usual, and I felt that the staff was excellent as always. It is a difficult situation to see pets without owners in the room, but it was implemented very well. I was pleased and not overwhelmed or anxious at all. Neither was my dog! Thank you Dogwood!
Car rides are very stressful for my cat. I had taken my cat to Dogwood Park Animal Clinic last year when she was sick because it is a short distance from where I live even though she has been seen by another local veterinarian for the past several years. She received excellent care from Dr. Peyatt and the staff. I took my cat back to my regular veterinarian for follow-up visits. Due to COVID restrictions and the fact that my cat would have a short car ride, I decided to take her back to Dogwood Park Clinic. I was able to get a timely appointment. It is a stressful time for all of us, but the staff and Dr. Reese handled the added job functions associated with COVID protocols in a professional, patient and courteous manner.
Awful customer service! My grand sons dog has been seen there for 6yrs, but no longer! I dont know what is up with the current staff, but one staff member wanted to argue with me about whether or not Jordan was supposed to be a drop off instead of apologizing for the mixup, and trying to get him seen. This was after already waiting an hour. I didnt receive a text from the vet until one and a half hours after I first arrived to ask questions about his symptoms. After 2hrs waiting, this same staff member comes out and says that she can print up his records so I can take him elsewhere. I tell her that I prefer that he be seen since I have already been waiting 2hrs. After 2 and a half hours of waiting, they finally bring Jordan out with his records and tell me to take him elsewhere! Mind you, every time they opened up the door over those 2 and a half hours we could hear him crying. Apparently voicing your displeasure is frowned upon! None of the staff said anything about him being a drop off when we got there. The text message we received from them said nothing about dropping him off. It only said to expect an hours wait. Terrible service!
Love this place for my animals. However they dont issue receipts for their services. Feel that when one spends over $300. They should be given a paper receipt. Then then give you a thing to get a rebate for you flea medicine, but it requires a copy of your receipt, so guess what cant get the rebate. So my advice is dont leave Until you get them to do business correctly.....
Given the restrictions with Covid19, service was good. Drop off for surgery of course is very busy but staff took time to explain how things worked and quickly helped everyone (which was alot)! Biggest plus was surgeon took time to call me as soon as she was finished with surgery and explained in detail what she found and how it was taken care of, very polite, informative and professional. This was my first visit and was impressed. I would highly recommend them. Only advise I can give is be patient, its obvious they are working as hard as possible to make the process go smoothly and quickly as possible.
You guys did fantastic with our Kitten for her spay. We will for sure be back with our Giant Schnauzer also. Check-in for the morning was quick (even with the long line) and picking up after she was ready to go was fast. You gave clear instructions on what to watch for or what to do if something seems off. I am very happy :)
I have used this vet about 10 years. It has changed the last couple of years and not for the better. I have 2 dogs. One is an 8 month old puppy who has been seen several times this year for all her shots and to be spayed. Went for an office visit today and was told now they require a deposit before they ever see your pet. This rubbed me very wrong. I have now changed to another clinic. The owner replied this has always been policy for drop offs but it wasn’t 2 months ago when my puppy was spayed. My expectations are an exam then an explanation of what needs to be done and a cost for service. Also you used to be able to go back with your dog. This has changed as well as the office staff. All new staff from a couple years ago.
I have been going here for several years and absolutely love Dogwood park. I was just reading several messages that were overall or entirely negative and that just doesn’t make sense. When I first moved to this area I went to a couple other vets and was saddened by the lack of caring (and incorrect diagnoses) I received before finding Dogwood Park. Everyone I have referred there has had a great experience just as I have. I’ve never been told I needed procedures that weren’t medically necessary and the prices for things such as normal vet visits, nail trimmings, rabies shots and neutering is well below anyone else in this area. The staff always seems responsive/friendly and caring about the fur babies I have brought to them each and every time so I don’t understand the reviews saying otherwise. I highly recommend this vet office to anyone that truly cares about receiving the best care.
I’m not one that typically leaves reviews and I have been holding my tongue on this business however I now feel lead to share my experience. I have a responsibility to others in hopes they don’t expose their pets to unnecessary procedures, medications, etc. I entrusted my daughter’s puppy to these doctors and in return experienced extreme negligence on their part. Long story short, my daughter’s puppy jumped off our back deck and I thought he was injured. I took him to a vet immediately, Dogwood, and we told them what the puppy did. They took advantage of my assumptions; that he had a broken leg. I was given that diagnosis and he was casted. At that time didn’t have a reason to question the diagnosis and I did everything I was advised of to the “T”. After way more weeks than typical of him being casted and my constant questioning, they had no choice than to send his x-ray’s to UGA, whom confirmed that the dog’s leg was NEVER broken. What was diagnosed as a broken leg for nearly seven week’s was nothing more than a developing bone!!! It was absolutely negligent and incompetence, or much worse just a way to make money! And what’s much worse, is after telling me that, they wanted me to finish paying a bill on things that shouldn’t have even been done ! Talk about wrong !?! After a few days of processing all of this and getting other Vets opinions I asked for a refund only for the charges that weren’t necessary. I get a response of one that surely doesn’t understand the severity of the situation nor has the desire to right a wrong. Since my unfortunate experience I have come across many customers that have had a much worse experiences so on that account I am fortunate. BUT I do believe I should share in order for others to make an informed decision on their pet’s doctors.
About two weeks ago, one of my cats became very ill. I tried to get him in to see our regular vet, but they said they were booked and couldn’t see him until Monday (this was early Friday morning) He was getting dehydrated so I knew he needed medical attention ASAP! I called Dogwood Park and I explained my situation. Even though they were booked up, they told me I could bring him over and that they would work him into the schedule. I dropped him off and about an hour or so later, they called and said that I could come get him. They did blood work on him (with my approval, of course) and it turned out that he had an infection. He was given fluids and a long lasting antibiotic injection (again, with my approval) and by the time I got him home, I could tell that he was already feeling much better! The bill was also a lot less than I thought it would be for everything they had done! The staff was great and couldn’t have been nicer (Angela 😊) Can’t thank y’all enough for being there for us!
We are fostering a cat for a local rescue group who then instructed us to take him to Dogwood Park Animal Veterinary for combo test & shots. The facility inside was very clean and orderly. The staff was very polite, helpful and bent over backwards to ensure that clients experience & animals care was smooth, thorough and pleasant. Unsure about price ranges for exams, vaccinations etc because the rescue group that we are fostering the cat for provided a payment voucher directly to Dogwood.
I brought my puppy in to be spayed. She was a rescue so they gave me a voucher to go her for the spay. When I arrived the morning of her appointment I was handed a clipboard and said fill this out. There was no welcoming me to the place at all. When I walked in the place smelled worse then the SPCA does so I was like where am I leaving my dog. My puppy was a little hyper that morning so someone from the place did help me by taking her right to the back so I could fill the paperwork out without having a dog jumping around all over The place. I thought I would get to speak to a a vet or a vet tech before I left about the surgery and what they were going the do before I left but no one other than the receptionist spoke with me about how much I would owe that the rescue didn’t cover (cone and calm meds for hyper-active dogs). Around 1pm I received a text at 1pm (yes a TEXT) not a phone call telling me that my puppy was done and I needing to pick her up before 4:30. When I picked her up the receptionist checked me out and I never spoke with a vet or a vet tech telling me how the surgery went or what to expect for the next few days. No one went over the discharge instructions with me, how the medicines were to be given to her, when I was suppose to start giving her the medicine, and what to do if a problem arises. Well guess what a problem happen over the weekend and I had to take her to an emergency vet and they told me she should have been given anti-inflammatory medicine for at least the recovery period not just 2 days because there is swelling and pain that happens after surgery and it takes time to heal. I kept my puppy crated and walked her on a leash as they suggested and she had a part of her incision had a tiny opening so I decided to take her back to Dogwood today. She was taken back into a room without me again and brought back out a minute later to be told the vet said everything looks fine. How do I a vet even looked at her. I bet the person who took her back looked at her belly and brought her right back out. My puppy was growling and barking which was totally out of character for her and didn’t do this when I took her to the emergency vet so makes me wonder what they did do her while she was there before. Did they hurry up and look at her just to get her out of the waiting room because she was being like that. I wish I could have seen the vet rather than someone else. Very dissatisfied with my experience and I had heard good things about the place. Kind of glad I didn’t pick this place as my personal vet when I moved to the area.
They don’t know what they are doing. Took my dog in for a UTI, they said nothing was wrong. Conditions got worse so I called and they told me they would check again free of charge. They found nothing again, but they charged. I tried to explain that I was told it was free of charge and they ignored me. Two days later conditions get even worse, so I take my dog to another vet and they find bacteria in her urine and tell me she has a UTI. I called Dogwood to let them know and ask what was a possible reason why their two test missed it. Extremely rude to me I will never go back to Dogwood. If I could give zero stars that’s what they would get and I still haven’t gotten my money back.
They did a great job surgically removing my dogs balls. My regular vet was booked up n couldnt do his neuter til April. I was quoted $310 at another vet, n anywhere from $178-194 before aftercare meds at Martinez. Hes 6 pounds, thats a bit much for a 15 minute routine outpatient surgery. So I asked my vet for a referral n they told me to try Dogwood. Glad I did, it was $79 & you wouldnt even know he had a surgery. The staff was friendly n went over all aftercare thoroughly. They have some really awesome cats that all greet you at the door, Im not a big cat person, but they were pretty awesome. Definitely recommend.
I did not see any area that called out a need for improvement. I actually arrived for the appointment about 20 minutes early and was taken in right away! I very much appreciated them filling a little hole in the schedule with me. They certainly did not have to do it but it made my day go smoother and I would guess it probably made the schedule there go a little smoother as well. The only thing I can say about that is, well done!
After doing research online this veterinary clinic is where I chose to have all of my and my mothers pets spayed/neutered. They are very reasonably priced and their spay/neuter cost includes the rabies vaccination and a nail trim. The staff were pleasant and easy to talk with. I will definitely use this as my regular vet office and recommend.
Went to get my dog neutered and it looked like they left a ball it was so swollen and looked infected right after. Brought him back 4 times that month and he had the surgery back in November! He is still dripping blood all around the house today (March). I do not recommend getting your dog neutered here. I’d post pictures but I don’t see an option for it.
Dogwood park is a never go to vet. they charge outrageous prices. they treat dogs “in good care” only to leave them suffering. in everything they do wrong they seem to take it as if it is your fault. never ever will i go back or recommend this vet! HORRIBLE customer service HORRIBLE vets. DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL!! 🚨 several others have had horrible service! the way they treat there loved dogs that come in this vet office is horrible !
Never felt more of a burden, out of place and disrespected like I do (did) at Dogwood. No sympathy or consideration for any pet owners regarding the circumstances of being their, period. To be paid to treat, care for, & love on animals they surely do not act the way they should, not to mention the constant overcharge and differences that NEVER add up.. you would think they would at least try to be more welcoming and caring. After years of being customers my family pets will be taken to a new and much better vet from here on out. This clinic lacks the proper education in veterinary medicine and customer service! Do not recommend and I wish I wasn’t forced to leave a single star. You may be taking your pets here or considering this place for “low prices” but I can assure you that you will be overcharged eventually and keep in mind you get what you pay for and sometimes you even pay for what you don’t get!
Sorry but this will be long!!!!!I recently took my dog to this place for an X-Ray to get an estimate of how many pups she was carrying. I understand with everything going on with Covid19, we are down to no contact. It’s fine because the most important part is everyone’s safety and my dogs wellbeing. We arrived for our appointment, completed paperwork, and put her in one of the designated kennels. The paperwork asked what was the reason for the appointment. We wrote to get an X-Ray for an estimate of how big her litter will be.They took her in and a while later brought her back and put her back in the kennel. We thought they would at least give us some feedback in a form other than face to face. Well the instructions were to leave after pet is replaced. I got confused because I was curious of when I’d get my question answered. Clearly the X-Ray wasn’t to confirm pregnancy because two weeks earlier I paid to have an ultrasound from them also.Well we call and asked could we know the estimated litter size. They put us on hold. Came back and said she would need a progesterone test done to confirm exactly how far she is in the pregnancy. I gave them the exact date of mating since it wasn’t suppose to happen at all, it was one time only. I say okay. HOLD ... They come back and say what did we mate her with? We say pitbull. Which our dog isn’t really small. She’s a basset hound mix. Put on HOLD. They come back to the phone and say, do you plan to spay her after. I’m curious as to why this matters. But that was my plan so we say yes. Put on HOLD again...They come back and say due to what we mated her with, she will need a c-section. We didn’t understand, why is that???? And they say she will have a difficult birth. This isn’t her usual vet, it’s just closer to my house and it was more convenient for us. Well then we are like well how much is that going to cost????? They say anywhere from $500-$800. we like thats insane. After being out on hold for a paper estimate, we just request that they email us a copy of the estimate... $600. I called her original vet and tell them about it. They say, there’s no reason to think she will have issues if she is otherwise healthy with the pregnancy. If things go wrongly, call the after hours number right away. The next morning we get a call from them leaving a voicemail saying are we going to schedule the surgery because that the only reason the vet was coming in. We felt like it wasn’t worth wasting the vets time because we knew ultimately we was not going to get a c-section done and so we declined. They said okay with an attitude, extremely rude, and hung up. Terrible experience. Needless to say, the same day our dog gave birth to her puppies flawlessly and naturally.my chief complaint would be, who the hell wants to put a doggie through something like that for no reason? Come on!!!!! My complaint comes from the lack of communication #2. With this being a time that we have to wait outside and can’t have contact. I feel it’s imperative to communicate. I shouldn’t have to call to be like okay so how’d the X-ray go? And then they act as if I was burdening them with my question. Yet I’ve paid for my service. #3 If you recommend a surgery, let it be just that. A recommendation. Don’t act as though it’s imperative because she won’t be able to birth her pups otherwise. 😒 and if you want somebody to spend that type of money, at least give us something aside from it will be difficult for her to birth them. That doesn’t suffice for $600. We wasn’t shown the X-ray, if that even happened, because their number that the employee was positive about was wrong. Our girl had more than they told us. They probably guessed. 🤔It was just overall a terrible experience. I felt like they was trying to bamboozle us. Our girl had her babies perfectly fine and was flawless with the whole thing. It was a great experience to be apart of with her. However I don’t recommend this place at all. It was ridiculous. I wouldn’t trust anything unless I’m laying eyes on it. Their words mean nothing. 👎🏾
Had my cat neutered here last week. The procedure went well and my cat is doing great, but I was a little miffed about one of the ladies at the front desk. First of all, her demeanor was pretty rude. When I asked her about a military discount (I was told there was one over the phone when I made the appointment) she said she didnt know if they had one. I had to ask her to check, as if it would have been too much of a hassle for her to check on her own. She told me that they did and it was a new thing so thats why she didnt know. Okay, fair enough. Then, she couldnt enter it in the system, had to call to the back for someone to do it. Also understandable, even though it took a few more minutes. Then, after all that, she said the discount didnt apply towards anything on my bill, which was nearly $100. She said it only applies to medication, clearly just guessing because minutes before she had no idea there even was a discount. I was mad about the whole situation but just decided to pay and never go back. But then, after leaving a review with the clinic about what happened, Lisa (the practice owner) emailed me and apologized and we spoke on the phone where she explained what happened. Very thorough and professional. She was able to apply the discount and told me that she would make sure her crew knew how to do it properly so it wouldnt be an issue. I was ready to write this place off, but the fact that Lisa followed up and rectified the situation made me pretty happy. Still, couldnt justify giving 4 stars just yet.
I have taken both my cat and dog here. My cat for her shots and a uti, which went well and was very reasonably priced. My dog was neutered here, which went very well and was again reasonably priced. The staff do all they can to make the animals comfortable while they are being examined and treated. I had my dogs dewclaws removed here, they did an excellent job and trimmed the rest of his nails as well. I do recommend making an appointment, as walking in is very hit or miss.
Very friendly staff and professionals. Appointment times were reasonably on time. Prices are great and they do vaccines the first(?) Thursday of the month. The actual veterinarian is very knowledgeable and provided recommendations based on current trends in regard to disease outbreaks and potential problems associated with our current situation.
Great prices!! And the employees are so nice! They are so sweet with my fur babies, and I know most vets call the amimals by name, but they made it a point to remember all 3 of my dogs names. What I like is one of the employees asked me if my dog Butters would mind if she took him to get weighed or if I needed to do it. The desk lady even took a picture of my fur babies cuz she thought they were so cute. Definantly recommend this animal clinic!! :)
Dogwood is great! They recently neutered my male lab mix and their price was almost half of our regular veterinarian. They care about the animals and made sure to send him home with the medication and appliance needed for a smoothe recovery. I will go back. They are also have his heart worm pills at a lower price than most veterinarians.
I cant post this without giving at least one star- But they shouldnt even get that! My husband called them about my dog with an ear infection and was told they could see him in TWO WEEKS or he could drop him off that following Tuesday at 8am and pick him back up at 4pm. Over an ear infection?! Now mind you, both of our dogs have been going here for years and its not like this was a wellness visit- my dog is not feeling well! Either a two weeks wait to be seen or drop him off for the day- pathetic! Our dogs will not be returning.
The staff - from the front desk to the treatment room is by far the best that I have encountered in the CSRA area. We have quite a few pets - dogs and cats and so far we have received exceptional treatment. The rates are by far the lowest in the area. Ms. Julie makes sure that you understand the treatment and the follow-up care that is needed for your pets. This is a busy office so do expect a wait time. Thank you ladies for all that you do...and what you have done for me.
I tried to make an appointment from their website and didnt get a response. I attempted it a second time still no response. Then a couple of days later I received and email not pertaining to the appointment but to install their app so I figured I do that so I could get an appointment but no dice. I finally ended up calling only to be told I can go on a wait list which was about 2 months out. Such a huge waste of time. If they cant even make a courtesy call I sure as hell am not gonna trust them with my dog!!! Get it together Dogwood!!!!
Dogwood Park is the best spay/neuter clinic in the area. The staff is very friendly and well organized. The prices are reasonable and they dont ask for a $20 nonrefundable deposit like the other clinic in the area. The check in is quick and they always call to say my pet is ready before the time they tell me when I drop them off. They are the only place I will take my pets for spay/neuter.
My Coco Chanel had gallbladder stones. She had to have surgery. Talk about being nervous. Those guys were/are so efficient. I was walked thru the whole process step by step. My baby is doing great. The service there is exceptional without a doubt. I love my baby very much. The staff and Dr Julie are great. You feel like your home with family. Very good people to have around my Coco Chanel. If your looking for a place to really care for your babies. That is very affordable, I recommend here. Thanks for all the help and services provided. I appreciate all of it. Thanks you guys.
The only reason we went here was because the adoption agency used them for all shots and neuter/spaying. It was close to home and it seemed really nice but the staff was awful. I showed up with all my documents showing the payment for the shots and spaying of my mothers dog which was included in the adoption fee and everything seemed fine. We didnt wait long, the dog got his shots, I went to the front to make sure everything was checked out okay and I even ask specifically Is there anything i have to sign or do before we leave and she said no. I go home and about an hour later they called my mother and said that I left without paying-- completely untrue. I went back up there that same day with all the documents again, met the SAME lady as asked why they called. She had an attitude and was trying to lecture that I should have showed them the papers WHEN I DID AND EVEN CHECKED AGAIN BEFORE I LEFT.I was annoyed but whatever, I come back later for the neutering for our dog, same deal-- asked them what if i needed to do or sign anything, showed them the adoption papers, everything check out, picked up the dog that evening and checked AGAIN to make sure there wasnt any miscommunication. GUESS WHAT! I received a call saying that I walked out without paying AGAIN. They were rude and treated me like I was trying to get cheap out on them. I even contacted the rescue agency to make sure I wasnt misunderstanding what was all included in the adoption. These people are WHACK! If I knew it they were going to cause me thing much trouble I would have went further and paid for the shots and neuter out of pocket somewhere else.
I was very disappointed this morning when I called to make an appointment for my puppy. The receptionist was rude from the get go, when I asked about the next available appointment she said next Wednesday which to meant sounded like next week so I asked “ you mean tomorrow?” And she said “ tomorrow is Wednesday” but what did it for me was when I said “my puppy is 9 weeks old, what do I need to bring with me? She rudely stated “the puppy” I told her, I know that but do I need anything else? She said “just the puppy”, I told her, never mind, at this point I could tell she was trying to become friendly but I just told her she was rude and hung up the phone. I thought this facility had gotten better, from previous reviews, both positive and negative, I had my doubts but now I know better.
Ive been very pleased with the staff and care provided at Dogwood Park Animal Clinic. Ive brought my own personal pets for care and many foster dogs. I do very much like the new appointment process, I think it shortens the wait time. In addition, the entire clinic is clean, spacious and welcoming.
This review may not be posted. But Im telling it anyway. They performed surgery on my pitbull 2months ago, twice. We had to take her to our regular vet to correct the wrong they did. Our vet let us know that the procedure was not done correctly and that she may not survive because of the previous surgey. She later had to be put down because of that surgey.
Never have i ever met such a horrible vet. my papa took his dog in to get fixed and had an appointment. they were only supposed to charge him $300 but when he went to go look at the receipt they charged him $450. they are careless & dont care who they hirt (animals or dogs.) if something goes wrong they act as if its your fault. dog wood park is a never go to!
I love this place. I really love Dr. Julie Blaisdell. We recently lost out beloved Daisy, Dr. Julie say with me and hugged me while I cried. Ill never go anywhere else. In looking at a new puppy today, bit will not buy it until Dr Julie can check her out Tuesday morning when they reopen. You cant go wrong with this office. Everyone is friendly, compassionate, and well trained. I have complete faith in then. Plus the process are more than fair.
My cat Honey was spayed, chipped, and treated at Dogwood on 4/1/20. Staff made this experience efficient by sending forms via-email, receipts, answering questions, and treating Honey very well. I would recommend Dog Park Animal Clinic for any pets and needs that arise. A++++Chelen Strickland
From the front desk to the exam room the staff is not personable, unprepared, and ignores anything that you have to say. I was open minded as in “oh maybe she’s having a rough day, or ah maybe she forgot that I literally just told her the info as to why I’m here, or oh maybe they misplaced that for today’s visit” but after a while it started getting on my nerves. Came in with an optimistic attitude in hopefully finding a decent vet in the area and left with a bad taste in my mouth. Felt belittled, ignored, and overcharged. The vet and front desk staff were rude, and just felt like they wanted to nickel and dime me when I was specifically there to take care of one thing. Also, if you work at a an animal clinic at least act like you care about animals or the people walking through the door.
I was introduced to this place when I adopted a kitty at Tracktor Supply for affordable price for spaying. I have been using them since then as staff and their cat are all friendly and welcoming! They take my financial situation into consideration and recommend best price for my cats needs. And they are not pushy with prevantitive care, so I dont feel uncomfortable taking them for care here. They respond to FB messangers, so making appointment is easy.
I wish there was a no star option! It’s been 3 days since our Abby was cut open to remove what was thought to be a mass growing on her spleen. After 2 different xrays/radiographs they were certain it was a mass and it had to be removed. Further growth would effect other organs. Our sweet girl had NO mass! She has been cut open like a fish (her entire belly) and was sent home within a couple hours with no pain meds or antibiotics. Today is the 3rd day and the incision is still oozing and she’s extremely swollen. We were giving no directions for cleaning the incision, what to expect or anything!Total cost of the entire surgery (splenectomy) was $485.00 with overnight fees. Our Sweet girl had nothing removed and wasn’t there but about 7hrs yet they refunded me $90 and stated we’d paid for no pain meds which is why they sent her home with none.Abby is a small dog and for 5 months dogwood has told me her weight issues are stemmed fromThyroid trouble. We have taken her every 4 weeks for blood work and medication adjustments to get her thyroid levels correct. The last two visits her levels were still extremely high and they issued her the same medication/mg/dosage each time. My poor pup has been pushed and poked on for 5 months now and none of it was called for.My coworkers yorkie was seen at dogwood recently also. It took 8 weeks, a second opinion and $1500 to determine that her sweet boy was in a cast on his front leg for no reason because his bone was never broken! Our pets are not in their best interest! There have been about 10 people contact me that have had poor experiences here...... 2 of which resulted in the death of their babies! I am waiting on a few more and will be taking all of this to News 12 before anyone else’s fur baby has to go through what ours has. I wish I could attach pictures of her incision it would break your hearts.PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS VET!!!
The only complaint I have about this clinic is i felt very unprepared for taking care of my pups after they got neutered. I got an information sheet, and there was a brief conversation at pick-up, but there was an entire list of things I didnt expect that I ended up getting from the internet or from my girlfriend who recently had my other dog spayed. Simple things such as the dogs not defecating for a day or two to others such as suppressed appetite. They were responsive when I did have questions, I was able to text the doctors with questions about the healing process. But I wish I would have had more info from the start. Would go again, but would definitely ask more questions.
Took my Great Dane pit there after hurting his leg by chasing a cat. They said he would need a $6000 surgery to fix his leg, we went to Martinez Animal Hospital to get a second opinion and came to find out he only had a pulled muscle!! After a week of rehab he was back walking on that leg. Will not go back to Dogwood again after hearing so many horrible stories. They falsely diagnose animals and make them have surgeries THEY DO NOT NEED. I’ll never put my animals life in their hands again.
I have nothing but good to say about the staff there. Very friendly and accommodating and friendly, when checking in they have always greeted me with a smile. I recently had one of my fur-babies pass away, a few days after I contacted them to let them know about it I received a very heartfelt sympathy note signed by everyone there. The little things like that mean so much.
I just dropped my dog off there to get her spayed. This is just my initial experience with the check in process, but so far, I am not impressed with Dogwood Park. I am editing and shortening this since picking up my dog. Basically, I am still not happy with how myself and my dog were treated when I dropped off my girl. I think an animal clinic should have compassionate staff, and that is not what I experienced this morning. However, it does seem that my dogs surgery went just fine.
I took my cat, butterscotch in to be neutered and the staff were extremely professional and welcoming. The reassured me that I had left him in the right hands and that he would be well taken care of and he was! Thank you! We will return for any other veterinary needs!
WONDERFUL PEOPLE WORK HERE! I WAS IN TOWN VISITING WITH FAMILY DUE TO MY FATHERS PASSING AND MY STEPMOMS DOG REALLY NEEDED TO BE SEEN. THESE LADIES WERE SO COMPASSIONATE AND UNDERSTANDING, TREATED LUCY (MY MOTHERS DOG) INTO THEIR LUNCH TIME AND GAVE US SOME RELIEF. IM THANKFUL TO THE GOOD LADIES AND DR THERE! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
I cant say enough great things about this clinic and the wonderful staff! I was very nervous before I brought my cat in because I have only used full service vets before now and my last cat passed away from complications after a surgery. Terri was very patient with me on the phone and answered all my questions thoroughly. She even arranged for me to be able to come in and meet the doctor and ask more questions. Meeting Dr Crandall really eased my mind. He is very experienced and compassionate! My kitty is quite a handful but they handled her perfectly and the surgery went great. We will definitely use Dogwood Park again!
Very glad I dont normally use this vet. Took my kitty in to get spayed, was only told it would be around 100. Then come to find our she is fat you just cant see it, so $15 charge to cut through fat. Then she was supposedly still in heat, though it had been about 2 weeks, so thats $20 charge on top of that. Then insisted on buying a pet carrier, insisted on pain meds, just kept trying to upsell upsell upsell. I would like to point out that our usual vet we see said she was perfectly healthy and didnt need what they were trying to upsell me, not even 4 weeks prior to this. Last straw for me, was Military Discount. Started to ring up, mentioned it, got charged, showed proof, asked to get it canceled, and then was given a bs run around about how they cant do it now but for when I come back and see then then they will be sure to add it. NEVER EVER GOING TO COME BACK, I WILL MAKE SURE THAT NO ONE I REFER WILL EVER BE SUBJECTED TO SUCH RUDE TREATMENT AND STAFF. Just so you can keep track of patients, my cats name is Itty Bitty.
Dr. Putman was wonderful! I have a very old red golden retriever and had several concerns about his coat and arthritis that were brushed aside by a different veterinarian practice as old age. Dr. Putman sought answers to everything I mentioned, offered tests, AND kept my budget for the visit in mind as well! I gave her a maximum amount of money I had to spend on that visit and she helped me pick which test would answer the most pressing concerns for our dog within my budget. You cant ask for more than that.
I have used their services twice & going back again: I think they are awesome; they take very good care of your pets; they are good about giving you instructions before and after services; I Thank God for my previously, awesome vet, who is facing retirement soon so it was good that I started looking early...I will miss him, but I Thank God for the new beginning Im having with DogWood (heart) park.
I brought my pet here to be neutered and when I picked him up he and his kennel were COVERED in feces! Why would you not clean him or his kennel up? The floor is removable you didn’t have to go anywhere near my pet if you were afraid of him being groggy from his surgery! Instead you laid a pee pad down for him and expected that to be enough! If he gets an infection from your improper care, trust and believe you all will be paying to fix it! I took pictures!!!!!
First time-Took my cat here to get spayed and she ended up with worms from her visit!2nd time- lie about their prices and then do services without your permission. NO BETTER THAN A DIRTY MECHANIC3rd time- GOING TO GROVETOWN ANIMAL CLINICThey say call if theres a problem, thats just to tell you that they wont do anything to resolve the problem. Dont believe their BULL
Everyone Ive talked to highly recommended Dogwood. Their reputation precedes them. I had called last week to get an appt for a new pup for shots, but before I could make it to the appt, my puppy got sick. I called them and even though they were booked up that day they told me to bring her. Due to her running a fever, the vet tech came out to my truck to run some tests. The vet was stuck in surgery and could not see her right then. They ran tests and had everything ready to go. Gave her some antibiotics and re-hydrated her with an IV. The vet took time after surgery even thoughThey were closing up and took a look at her. Sent me home with meds and fluids. My baby was still vomiting today so they told me to bring her back and gave her another nausea shot. Im very oleased with their service. They truly care about their patients and have done everything they can to help my baby get well. We are still fighting but they told me to call anytime if I needed anything. I cant recommend them enough for their great service.
Giving one star because stars are actually obligatory; otherwise, I would give none. This vet abandoned my mother’s dog’s needs. Dogwood found he had diabetes and my mother was in contact with them for weeks trying to get them to answer the phone to order his insulin and specialized diet food. She never heard a word back. In the meantime, she did everything she could on her own while she waited for them to respond. She saw him worsen and had to take him to another vet a week later. Due to Dogwood Park’s neglegance, my mother’s dog ended up with pancreatitis, caused by the lack of care for the diabetes he had just been diagnosed with at Dogwood Park. He has since passed, because he was in such poor shape. His sibling has since passed as well, following suit after two weeks due to her inability to grieve. Two canine lives have been lost due to the lack of urgency this vet’s Office has shown. They contacted her today, FIVE AND A HALF months after his initial visit, to check on his status. Absolutely disgusting.
Ive tried several veterinarians and pet facilities in the last few years have to say this is probably the best all around. Pricing of the treatments is very fair. And the staff is excellent. They are only open one Saturday a month and are very busy on that Saturday so I suggest you make an appointment to go by there during the week if you want to avoid a large crowd on the Saturday.
This clinic treated my dog for what they diagnosed as “an ear infection” when my dog had lung cancer that metastasized to her ear- leaving a visible tumor on her ear. She died. I would advise no one use this clinic if you care for your animal! I was devastated! They never refunded my money for any of the HUNDREDS of dollars I paid them! Take your animals elsewhere!RIP Dixie
The worst part about their service is the incredibly rude people they employ. Numerous women that work the front are unprofessional and really shouldnt be bothered to do anything, (not all the womens only about 3). First time I went in they tried giving me the wrong cat, to which i pointed out, and the lady tried acting like I was doing something wrong by pointing it out. Next time I went in, I sat for an hour and a half from open, despite the fact that I was the first person there, to which they tried telling me they couldnt see me because they didnt have enough vaccines. Which was untrue because after about 2 minutes of awkward glances because I wasnt leaving, vaccines magically appeared. I only used this vet because I was fostering at the time, I no longer do, and I will never go to this vet again. Most people seem to like them because they are inexpensive, I personally use heartsong and aidmore(which is a full service vet) and both are cheaper and you dont have to deal with the rude attitudes and subpar service.
My baby Genesis needed tooth extractions and Im so happy Ft. Gordon recommended Dogwood Park Clinic! They are absolutely AMAZING and VERY affordable. They took great care of my furry baby. Now he has great teeth 🐶..Special thanks to the Dr. for doing such and amazing job and Madison for being so kind..
Excellent staff, very helpful, & informative. The front office staff took the time to make sure I had all the information that I needed & that I understood it. Even though Hurricane Micheal was headed towards Augusta and they had their own families to get home to, they went above & beyond to take care of Flammy 🐶🐾💜
Ashley is one of two people I know who have taken their fur babies to Dogwood Park Animal Clinic on Columbia Rd. in Grovetown and have received backwards medical care from these greedy, hateful people. On the first occasion, my bosss puppy fell from a distance and hurt his leg. The professionals at Dogwood outsourced their advice to the veterinary team at UGA to conclude that his leg was completely broken and ordered that he wear a cast for more than 2 months. When the cast was finally removed (after several check-ups) his leg was significantly shorter than the other one. It was at this time that Dogwood informed my boss that they were mistaken, and that what they thought was a severe fracture was actually the part of his bone structure that hasnt fully formed yet. BECAUSE HE WAS A PUPPY. Although my boss struggled for weeks afterwards to be compensated in some way for the trouble their puppy went through and would continue to go through, Dogwood refused to accept responsibility for their incompetence and did not make up for the damage done to her sweet puppy.Months later, Ashleys two-year-old Pup, Abby, struggled tremendously to lose weight and had been visiting Dogwood regularly for treatment. After several tests and x-rays (and more advice from UGA) Dogwood informed Ashley that it could be due to a huge mass on her spleen, and that she will have to go through a difficult and painful surgery to remove both the mass AND her spleen. Ashley stressed for days before the surgery and finally received in her first update that Abby did well and is in recovery. However, there is no mass and her spleen was not removed because all of her organs are in perfect condition and all they were seeing were lumps of fat. They told Ashley to give her specific brands of dog food to aid in losing weight and that Abby could be sent home same day instead of the following day, which was originally planned. Ashley asked if she would be refunded for the parts of the breakdown on the invoice that were not followed through the surgery (like a specific collar that Ashley brought Abby in herself, the overnight fees, and of course, the spleen removal.) They said they would only give her a partial refund, which at first she accepted, but then sent Abby home without pain medication, claiming this is something Ashley opted not to pay for. They also claimed that Ashley opted out of overnight care, although that was their own suggestion, and overnight care does not actually provide that a veterinary team member stay with the patient overnight. Just that she should sleep there to keep her from wanting to explore her own house immediately after surgery. Ashley visited twice the next day to dispute the care and financials and was still only settled with a partial refund of the pieces of the surgery they didnt even do.Now, she is spending her Sunday with Abby at emergency vet care as her (unnecessary) wound is still bleeding and has become infected. Poor Abby is VERY sick and uncomfortable, having diarrhea, and refusing to eat. Ashley left wordy reviews on their Google page and on their Facebook page and has been TEXTED by Dogwood asking kindly to remove her comments or they will be forced to persue legal action.Because Ashley has texts, complete documentation, and physical proof (as well as back-up from other unhappy patients) of their incompetence, she is not worried about their legal action but hopes to inform the community of their lack of care for customer service and even worse, lack of care for the animals that depend on them.DO NOT TO TO DOGWOOD PARK ANIMAL CLINIC!!!!
I want to say do NOT take your animal here unless you really dont love them. This place killed my perfectly healthy pitbull Emma from a simple spay operation. My dog bled out internally and no one caught it because they did not do their job and check on her. On top of that, they felt the need to not refund me the money from the procedure so now the Vet S. Putnam (since they wont display her name anywhere with the facility or that she took over a year ago without customers being updated) is being sued along with a coworker for their negligence, unprofessionalism and Facebook stalking after negligently killing our dog.
This place should be shut down, please dont take your animal here. The staff is forgetful, the advice is worthless and my dogs have been misdiagnosed. After bringing up that my dog had an adverse reaction to the benydril they prescribed causing her to become hyper, the vet blew me off and gave her an additional shot of liquid benydril! My dog started hallucinating and her heart was pounding! They told me to walk her outside and they would be right back with me. They never came, when I walked back in they looked at me like I was an idiot - they completely forgot and started seeing another animal. The medicine and food they suggested was trash, go to Saint Francis.Reply: My pet was absolutely injected and saw adverse side effects, to which the spacy headed veterinarian commented Oh that is strange before telling me to walk her and completely forgetting about me. Keep reading comments - they have a habit of denying mistakes and slandering reviews.
Arrived at my scheduled appointment time to wait 45 minutes without being seen. Ended up leaving and when I explained that I had been waiting for so long, the lady at the counter didnt even offer an apology, just asked if I wanted to reschedule.Reply: Account name would be under Rebecca Lee
My experience here was absolutely aweful! The vet my dog saw to get her rabies shot was rude and I wold never recommend this vet to anyone!!! they scheduled her appt right before closing and then would not give her a rabies tag, actually insisted that they only gave out certificates. well come to find out my mom took her new puppy today and guess what she got... a rabies tag. this place iso a joke. MARTINEZ ANIMAL HOSPITAL IS WONDERFUL and thats where she will be going from here on out.
I recently moved out to Grovetown and i had a bunch of friends recommend this place, and now i see why.. everyone was super nice and asked questions about certain things to make sure my pup was vaccinated for anything and everything! This is definitely my new place for my furbabies ❤️
Ive been there three times now and each time had to deal with Liz. She is very unpleasant - loud, rude, and unfriendly. She makes a big deal about everything as if youre putting her out, and then ends up doing exactly what she was supposed to do in the first place grumbling the whole time.It isnt unusual to be met with rudeness these days, but I dont understand how people who clearly arent suited for a job manage to keep it.I conveyed my displeasure to a friend and she said Oh you must have dealt with Liz. Shes always like that.Since she is my only interaction with the clinic, I can only give one star, and wont be going back.
Spencer has been a patient at Dogwood Clinic since 2014 under the care of Dr. Williams. Spencer was scheduled today, May 31, 2018 for surgical procedure for removal of a re-growth Mass to R Eye performed by Dr. Williams on 11/8/2017. Spencer’s Eye is Red, Swollen and oozing a brownish/yellow drainage. Spencer has been lethargic w/ poor appetite. (Pictures can be provided)I dropped Spencer off this morning at approx. 0830am. I learned today, Dr. Williams is currently out of the country for 6 weeks and Shawnee Putman is filling in. The Vet. Asst. said I would receive a call with the decision if the Vet. Covering for Dr. Williams, Shawnee Putman could perform the surgery. Only if Spencer was to be put under sedation for Surgery, did I ask for his Nails to be Trimmed.I NEVER received a telephone call from Dogwood.I received a TEXT at 1246pm to pick Spencer up. I assumed Spencer had surgery. When I arrived, I was told they sedated Spencer to do his Nail Clipping ($88.80). However, the Vet did not perform surgery because she didn’t feel comfortable and the Vet recommended I find someone else. No offer of a referral source was given. The Vet Did NOT prescribed any Oral and/or Topical Antibiotic. The Staff said they were Not saying Spencer does not have an Infection. I told the Vet Asst. in the past Dr. Williams prescribed both Topical and Oral Antibiotic and requested the same. The Vet Asst. said “Shawnee Putman REFUSED oral” but agreed to a Topical but not the same one topical antibiotic Dr. Williams prescribed.Dogwood Clinic was Negligent in not following thru with a Telephone Call as agreed to inform me that Spencer would not have Surgery before they Made the Decision to Sedate Spencer for a Nail Clipping.Spencer was brought in because of the Mass to his Right Eye. If Spencer was to have surgery, only then would I have agreed to put my Dog under sedation and have his Nails Clip because of the Risk w/sedation!Dogwood Clinic was Negligent in not following thru with a Telephone Call as agreed to inform me that Spencer would not have Surgery before they Made the Decision to Sedate Spencer for a Nail Clipping.6/6/18: In response to the Owner of Dogwood Park -> Spencer did have an appointment to bring him in because of his Eye NOT for Nail clipping!Spencer was seen by another Local Vet. And currently being treated for an Eye infection before his surgery!! Clear Negligence! Spencer’s pictures are obvious. But more importantly PUTMAN was not component to perform surgery And Staff eluded to this And why they Said they would call!! ONLY if he was to be sedated for His Eye Would I want his Nails Clipped!!!Yes, my Spencer a rescue who was severely beaten before he came to me Is Why he Is sedated for his Annual Physical and to have his nails cut. As in the past, would REQUIRE An Appointment not a Walk In!!Shame on You, Owner .. The is Half Truth to Your Response! The Tone of YOUR response is Hostile and Defensive!!I have Reported this incident to the THE BOARD OF VETS! And will be posted on every Social Media Group too!!!
UNPROFESSIONAL!!! So they only want good reviews, cant handle bad ones but Im gonna let everybody know the truth, this just happened 10 minutes ago, so my dog been there since 8 & its after 4 and he hasnt even seen the vet along with other dogs, and I post a review earlier and they cant handle the truth of a revieww about their business so they hand my dog back to me and tell me were not fixing your dog, and the Vet doesnt come talk to us, they send the front desk girl out there, and no apology at ALL!! Secondly there is only 1 Doc there and the other one has been out for a month, hey thats understandable but if there is only 1 Doc DONT schedule more animals than you can handle, when your overpacked and rushed thats when mistakes happen but this business doesnt act professional and only take what they can handle, they just run the animals through like an assembly line. Its all about a dollar to these ppl, take your pet somewhere professional where if there is a problem at least the Vet will apologize to you
My friends, family, and myself bring our animals to this clinic for years. They are a compassionate, and professionate group of med staff. For the people spreading false allagations on this clinic, youll need to back up your words in court. Because these Veterenarians wil be ready with theirs in hand. This is deframation of Character. Which is against the law in the state of Georgia. NOTE: They have Documentaion of every prosedure, sound video of every conversation, dates, times, and proof if youve ever been in that clinic with a pet. So before you decide to tarnish this clinic with untrue statements, be prepared to back them up. God dont like ugly!! :-)P.s. if one notices the names on 1 star comment and ratings....some are same last names of the angry customer with untrue statemens.....and her daughters little friends giving false statements. I say....Class A lawsuit heading this way. WOOT!! WOOT!!
I will never go here again nor steer anyone in their direction. They tell you one price and you end up paying something totally different all while some of the staff is incredibly rude especially the “manager”. Never ever go here it’s not worth it, I’d drive my pets to Augusta before I go down the road to them.
Love this place they took great care of my dog he tends to be scared of new people and places but they took their time with him and worked slowly with him he was a happy dog when we left great experience awesome and courteous people will be taking my pet there for all their needs

2022-03-15This place is great. I called around to a million vets today trying to find somebody who has availability to help my cat. Finally, Dogwood said they have availability. My appointment was originally at 1, but when I told them what was going on with my cat, they got me in at 9 am. I am so grateful I found this place. Wonderful vets, techs & assistants who truly care. So glad I could find my baby the help he needed!

2022-06-04Dogwood Animal Clinic is Amazing! We have used them for years and have always liked them, but after our end of life services we received on Friday (6/3/22) with our 17 year old Golden Retriever—- I will recommend them to everyone! The compassion shown and the unorthodox way of handling things per our request was the most peaceful experience and we couldn’t have asked for anything better!

2022-04-13They were able to fit my two dogs in for last minute vaccines before boarding. Very quick turn around, very reasonable pricing, and a nice facility with caring staff. Really cant ask for much more

2022-05-05If I could get 100 stars I would. So here is our story… so have a husky she is about 5 months old. Well she was bitten by a snake. Every vet I called said they couldn’t take us or didn’t have a treatment plan for her. We were told to take her to Columbia sc. Well I knew she wouldn’t make it in time to drive all the way there from Grovetown Ga. So we just rushed her to Dogwood. They took my baby back right away and started treatment. (They we’re slammed packed at the time as well.) Now we are home and hopefully on the mend. They went above & beyond for our baby!

2022-04-21Very unprofessional. Go to another veterinarian! We had a 10:15am appointment and when I got there they wouldn’t see us until 11:20am. They are inconsiderate of your time and clearly appointments mean nothing here. Waste of time.
