Dollar General in other cities:
Cramped for space. Understaffed every time I come in. Boxes fill multiple isles. If more than a couple people are trying to check out the lines can become fairly long. Pretty decent selection (but the new Dollar Tree might beat it there). In fact, with the new Dollar Tree in town, this Dollar General really needs to step up on several fronts unless it wants to be run out of business. This store especially seems to employ only one worker at a time and frankly for what these store workers are paid there should be minimum two and ideally three at any given time. Pretty cheap deals in here still which is the main draw of course and its location is easier to access than the newer Dollar Tree. Also very convenient to head here after breakfast nearby at Waffle House or Huddle House.
By far the worst store. The customer service is terrible and the employee yovanne(I believe that’s her name, probably not the correct spelling) is by far the rudest person I’ve met behind a register. She never smiles are asks if you found what you were looking for and as a former supervisor and sales associate to a big chain store such as dollar general, I know what customer service entails and she lacks a lot of it. I dread having to go into the store just because of her attitude and her demeanor. Not not mentioned the store is in a huge need of a remodel and it looks as though it’s been raided through during the apocalypse. Boxes everywhere, the shelves are a jumble mix of different products. There’s no organization what’s so ever. The floors are nasty and the items are scattered. It looks as if you walked into a storage unit from all the boxes left on the floor for customers to trip on.
I like shopping @ DG for household supplies. Their prices are comparable to Walmart & you dont have to deal with a crowd. I can get what I need and be out of there in a matter of minutes. The DG in Barnesville is new and organized. Im a frugal person and enjoy saving money so I tend to frequent DG.

2020-05-23The cashier was super nice she was very polite answer all the question we ask. There was a lot more items that I need the most that is awesome. Those employees are brave to waiting on customers during this pandemic disaster. I salute to them they deserve a raise. I will be back.

2020-08-02Customer service could be better. One of the cashier ladies is not friendly at all. She yells at customers, and she gets aggravated easily and she talks about other peoples business out loud to other people. This is very rude and unprofessional and I will not attend this dollar general again. Aside from that, the store is nice and clean.

2021-05-02Since the Dollar General in Barnesville moved to College Dr, the store is much nicer. My only issue is the hours. I have stopped at this store twice on Sunday night around 8:20pm and they were closing the store and turning people away. If you close at 8:00pm on Sunday, thats fine, but please change the hours listed. As it is, the store is listed as being open till 10:00pm.

2020-02-21Very disappointed. The old Dollar General was dirty, cluttered, and broken tiles all over the store. When they built the New one it was a vast improvement that didnt last long. The new store is cluttered, messy, many shelves empty, and products strewn all over the place. The only thing its got going for itself is there are no broken floor tiles and the counter clerks are really nice. But they are the only ones. The other store clerks act like you bothered them when you ask a question.

2020-04-09Good prices, and selection, and most of the time helpful. I say most of the time because sometimes it takes some time to find someone to handle checking out. I know there has to be more than one person working, so where are they??? Asleep in the back???? Not a clue, too bad the Freds was closed here in town.

2019-03-26Pretty quite most of the time. Really gets busy around the end of the work day. Sometimes, its too much for the few employees they have. However, this is a pretty good store if you need minimal grocery items or some house hold cleaners. The parking lot is a major down side to this store. No painted parking spot s and pot holes galore. Overall, just a place to get the basics.

2019-11-10The new location out trumps the old location significantly. The layout of the store is more customer friendly. It is less junky. It is more welcoming and inviting. The customer service has improved and I am starting to prefer it more than the location in Milner, which has not been the case for years.

2020-07-10I love the store itself, i get quite a few coupons for things i use all the time and i save a good bit of money throughout the month and for the most part the employess r friendly except for 1 lady that is always unpleasant and dont want to help u and gets aggrevated as all get out if u ask her to help u..

2018-12-03Worst experience Ive ever had and it Dollar General and thats not saying much because its a Dollar General but in general this Dollar General was the worst. Where did 30 minutes in line when there was only 4 people in line the store was nasty disgusting couldnt even walk through the aisles. The store needs some serious turn around. And the only reason I gave it one star is because I was going to give it no stars but I had to give it one star because they had what I needed. And Im skeptical to even give it that starred because what I needed was overpriced.

2019-05-07.Nice little store. Very friendly staff. Only problem is sometimes they are under staffed. Go in one time and there are 5 people behind the register. Go in another time and only 1 person behind the register, with a long line. Employees still remain positive
