We had a horrible experience when we went. Sign at the front said seat yourself, so we did and waited over five minutes until someone came and finally gave us menus and got us drinks. Then nothing, there were people walking around and cleaning tables, but no one ever came to take our order, so after 10 more minutes we just walked out. Its not like they were busy. If they were having problems and just said something that would have been different.
Havent eaten any Oriental meals since I moved here. My first time was Wednesday 6/26 at the Dragon Garden. Joelene and I walked in and were instantly greeted and shown to a table and asked about our drinks. Ordered our meals and took in the splendid atmosphere! Love it! Our meals were, well, to be honest, we are still raving about how good they were. So today, we took the family there. Same results! Great service, outstanding food, wonderful atmosphere, extremely reasonable prices, definitely going back for more!! P.S. they do not have childrens portions so bring your appetite!
I ordered the Mongolian beef dinner combo and a large won ton soup. I took one bite from the Mongolian beef and had to spit it out and throw it away. It was red and raw and uneatable. Soup was okay. Noodles tasted a little off but I had nothing else to eat for dinner.
Let me share this secret gem with you! It is nothing to look at from the outside. The parking lot is on a weird slope...when you walk inside it is a glorified take out place...again...nothing to look at. The decor is outdated...HOWEVER..do not let all of this deceive you. They have the best Chinese food, not just in town, but the best I have ever had! The place is always clean and the staff is friendly. The food always comes out in a timely manner and is ALWAYS hot and fresh. I will continue to go here and only here for Chinese food!
I have never eaten in there but I have ordered many times through Uber eats. For the price of one entree you may think its a lot but its enough for two or three meals. Plus, with them you dont trade quantity for quality. Its a lot of food and its good. Just as good as anywhere else and always hot too!
Use to..I would give 5 stars, lately the food taste is horrible. Next to last order, had to throw away 20 percent if order. Last night, had to throw away 90 percent of my $37 order, only my soup was edible. My huband called and reported that maybe they should check the cooking oil ..ut was ranson, so the egg roll, wontons, soup noodles, everything we had to toss. The family sized house fried rice had a lot of chicken skin. Not meat in it. Hated to toss it, better safe than sorry...to avoid food poison.
Quiet setting and friendly staff. I like to place to go orders here too. So Im updating my review here so its 2021 now and my earlier review was from four years ago. I love this place. Honestly Ive tried many different dishes from them and all have been fabulous. Id say try them for dishes you love, but also try them for dishes youve never had. The dishes are awesome and full of many great flavors.
A very well done dining experience. The food was well prepared with a diverse menu of both traditional Chinese meals as well as a kids menu. Lunch and dinner specials with a very quiet beautifully decorated dining area and if its your thing a bar in the front that looked lovely but I wasnt able to get a good look at their alcohol selection. A tentative staff that kept our drinks filled and the food came out hot and ready. Also the dinner crowd wasnt a large one which probably lent to the quiet and made it to where we could hear the soft piano music.
Was hiking a nearby trail and the wife and I had an appetite for Chinese. We are.not from the are so we turned to Google. This place had very good reviews and with good reason. Great food, some of the best chinese cuisine Ive had in a while. We dined in and the place was very clean and NOT smelly, you know how some time f these restaurants can be. 100% satisfied, very hot food, delicious, great service!
Let me start with..their food is almost always excellent. Theyre truly a five star restaurant. That being said.. theyre a one star in my book because what establishment wants to entertain their GUESTS with the news on BOTH tvs. Ive seen many ask politely to not have that on...they straight up ignore that request. I, and many others, DONT want or need to hear about Trump or Biden while we eat. 🤮
Food is great. Prices are within reason. We usually call our order in and pick it up. They do have a good size dinning room if you wish to eat there. Seating looks very comfortable. Dinner for 3 of us usually runs about $20.00. Good size portions. We always have enough for a second meal.
My wife and I stopped in tonight on a whim and we were very pleasantly surprised. The lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful since we’d never been here. I got the sweet and sour chicken and my wife got the Amazing Chicken. Bother were cooked perfectly and the portion sizes were large. I think we finally found our go-to Asian place in Cartersville!
This place is great. Fresh, delicious and always prompt. Nice staff!! I love the general tsos here. Their amazing chicken is great too. Big fan of the lo mein- nice and garlicky. Crab Rangoon’s are GREAT. They taste like they were made same day. The fried rice that comes with the meal is also delicious. Return customer and will continue to be.
Used to order here all the time but got bad!! Ordered beef chow mein, got lo mein, had to go back and when I got home I had a plate of beef and onion only!!! The meat was thick, fatty and unchewable...threw it out! Mr eggroll it is from now on! The food here is the worst Ive ever had!!
Attending a meal at dragon garden is like one strange fever dream. From what I remember the distinct smell of must combs through the entire building as the white walls appear to be closing in. The authentic atmosphere is a shadow of its former self as it leaves you lonely and afraid. That water pond is something that appears in reoccuring nightmares....
I ordered through Door Dash. The egg drop soup was good, and the Crab Rangoon, was cream cheese Rangoon, like most other places. The Sesame Chicken combination was not as advertised; the egg roll was not an egg roll. It was a very small spring roll. The fried rice was definitely not fried rice, nor was it cooked all the way. The chicken, while plentiful, had only enough sauce for very few of the pieces. The bulk of it was dry. I gave up trying to eat this meal. I spent $30.00 on this including tax and Door Dash charges. I will never eat at Dragon Garden again. From now on it is Best China at Euharlee Rd. or Grand China on Grassdale.
The food is decent, it’s always served quickly, and the food is hot, which is something I like when my food has arrived to my table. The things I didn’t like was the the waitress wasn’t too helpful when I asked for some Siracha Sauce, and wasn’t too nice either, the other thing is the venue itself, it’s needs some desperate changes like the seats, carpets and paint. It’s not well maintained, and could use some upgrades real soon. Hopefully they address these issues.
UPDATE:Changing my review to 1 star from 4. Being ordering DG for years and we always get either white or fried rice with our meals this time we order 3 meals with rice and they only gave us 1. So we went back and ask for the other two sides of rice No Big Deal. But they were very rude and said that 2 years ago they stop giving rice? really? A Chinese restaurant stop giving rice with their meals? Very bad experience and sad because we been going there for years.
One of the few and the only menu sit down Chinese restaurants in Cartersville. It harkens back to the day you could order a Family dinner for four. All there is these days is the same tasting mega buffets. The food is extremely good, especially the fried rice. Its not yellow colored rice with carrots and peas; its really fried in a work. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
Got two fried rice and wing boxes $5.75 ea. Also, a fried dumpling appetizer. The fried rice was just ok, and the wings were kind of covered with a bland salty sauce, and did not taste fresh at all- kind of dry meat too. Fried dumplings didnt taste fresh either, but were my favorite item of the food ordered.
We love this place! A few years ago we stopped in and it was great.. Years later when we moved to CVille we remembered how good it was so we went back. Great food at very good prices. I always get the Chicken Cow Mein and my partner enjoys the sweet n sour chicken. The eggrolls are great, as is the hot and sour soup. Highly recommended!
This place was once the high watermark for Chinese takeout in Cartersville. Now its just a sad reminder about how quality degrades when a restaurant tries to make everything cost less than $10. Im not quite sure how theyre getting repeat business after the greasy soup and microwaved fried rice I received.
Would have given no stars if I could have. Food was so salty it was inedible. We didnt even eat it or take it home yet we still had to pay for it. How others are coming up with so many stars saying the food is good is beyond me. Dont go here. I literally threw $50 in the garbage.
If youre looking for sit-down Chinese in Cartersville this is your best option. Ive been eating here for years and when I moved out of state I craved their egg rolls for months. Seriously. Try the egg rolls and the chicken chow mein. Lunch combos are super well priced and the food is always delicious.
Really really sad... and i even read all the recent reviews & thought what are these ppl talking about? this place has been open for 26+ years & i have been eating there for 15 years myself! how could anyone say these things...but its been at least a year since i have eaten here !and apparently much has changed! it was so very disappointing! i didnt even eat it! worse than buffet Chinese or even frozen grocery store meals, and no this is not an exageration... 1st the eggrolls were tiny spring rolls, and really the best part of the meal. the sweet & sour chicken had 3 quarter sized pieces of green pepper, and no pineapplee xcept for 2 chunks of obviously canned pineapple in the no doubt came from a jar sweet and sour sauce.. but this isnt even the worst part the fried rice was not fried at all simply white rice w/ soy sauce..no egg, vegatable, not fried but in in a perfectly round rice scoop. my husband have one of the signature meals and was a lil better no taste except for the salt from overuse of soy sauce, but adequate amount of semi-fresh veggies, but the shrimp while large, were skimped on and not fully cleaned! yuck!! service was awful upon ordering but ludicrous when we came back in the next am, with 2 container of uneaten food. and was refused an apology, refund or even replacement!!! i will never waste another penny here! i know times are hard all over, but you dont your chef & think you can do just as well yourself..,only employee was mother (only assuming, maybe just older lady) making food, young adult daughter (again an assumption) taking order/cashier while younger daughter (under 10) cleans up the take-out area? (hopig this child is a relative b/c this was after 9pm, much too late for any child to be workin)
Terrible Chinese restaurant. No soda fountain so if you want anything besides tea or water, which is awful, you get a hot can of soda. The food is made extra cost effectively and is terrible. The fact people love this place is an affront to real american-chinese food. Terrible!
Honestly, I think they are typically the best Chinese in Cartersville, however, its a pretty low bar IMHO. They seem to be slipping a bit for me, chicken was overcooked, forgot the main sauce for the chicken, etc. Ill come back, though, but only because its too far to drive to a better place.
I lived in cartersville going on 13 years and never eat there parking lot is not always full so i just said i dont know about that place today the wife and i gave it a try i was surprised the food was great and prices where far two dinners and a crabranconne appetizer and two hot teas 24.00 great deal it was clean and nice will be going back

2022-07-01Wow, our first time here and we are very impressed. My wife and brother and I ordered take out at 4pm on Fri July 1, 2022.I ordered the curry beef, I only like beef, onions and green peppers with my curry and they did it right. The curry is fantastic; plenty of sauce, the meat is tender and the onions and peppers are fresh. Pretty spicy curry sauce so beware if you dont like spicy. If you are a curry beef lover then you will be happy. My wife had the Mongolian beef with noodles, she really enjoyed it. It has beef, onions and chives, and the noodles also had a great flavor. My brother had the General Tsos chicken, he also enjoyed it (see pics of all dishes).Plenty of parking, centrally located; the inside is spacious and very clean and has a comfortable feel to it.Prices are great, we paid ~30 bucks for everything so its very affordable and you get very large portions. This is now our go-to for Chinese cuisine. Highly recommend.

2021-09-20I’m from out of town and this was near where I was at so I stopped by. I was NOT sure about this place before stepping in but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. For starters the inside is a stark contrast to the outside. Elegant and a wonderful atmosphere. The menu is hardcover and not overwhelming at all and the food is divine. Very glad I stopped here and I will be making the drive just to come back.

2022-02-18Amazing food! Fried rice is real fried rice without carrots and peas. Egg drop soup is delicious and I order usually there spicy general chicken, sesame chicken or Mongolian beef and all of them are yummy. I’m picky with Chinese since I grew up with one delicious restaurant that always had great meat not some cheap kind and this restaurant has great meat every time I order! There egg rolls are good too. Not the kind I’m use to but still delicious. Oh and they also give you a good amount of food for your order. If I had a photo I’d post it on here.

2022-02-07I ordered Szechwan Pork. Food came out barely warm and had absolutely no spice to it. The presentation was very good, as it did have a good mix of vegetables and pork.My wife ordered Lemon chicken.....VERY DISAPPOINTING...just fried chicken pieces with a bowl of Lemon flavoured dip on the side. Absolutely no vegetables.Probably will not go back .😑
