Good enough for a nights rest when visiting Six Flags, but thats about it. A bit run down, and very basic, but not bad enough (IMO) to outweigh the convenience of its location. 50/50 on staying there again...I probably would, but only if on a tight budget, and with low expectations about anything except sleeping. If all you care about is a good nights rest, itll suffice.Pros:Closest hotel to Six Flags Over Georgia - literally right across the freeway, and only a short walk to the front gates. Staff was nice, and helped with any minor issues or requests as best they could. Generally affordable (should be a about $20 less IMO, but with Six Flags so close, I can understand why its not >$50). Generally clean (though could be better). No signs of bugs or other pests (checked all the drawers and mattress coverings immediately). Was quiet during our visit. Air conditioning worked well in the room (lobby was a bit warm though). Bed seemed comfortable enough - slept well and woke up refreshed. Linens were clean. Microwave and mini-fridge in room (both were clean and worked fine).Neutral: No pool. Gas station right next door to purchase forgotten incidentals or snacks.Cons:The free continental breakfast is a pathetic joke. They only offered instant grits or oatmeal. Juice machine was not dispensing cold beverages. Only warm, potentially spoiled orange juice - the other side of the machine (usually Cranberry or Apple at most places) was empty. OJ tasted bad, but fortunately didnt make me sick. They had coffee too, but I dont like coffee, and after the OJ thing, I wouldnt trust it to be good anyway. They apologized and tried to dismiss this due to Covid, but thats BS. Every hotel I have stayed in this year (including similarly-priced hotels) has offered a better, typical hotel breakfast (If they didnt offer it for dine-in, they still had a good selection of items, they just gave it to you in a bag to take back to your room - this place is just being lazy and cheap). The WiFi is pathetic and/or malfunctioning. Was difficult to connect to on my phone, and kept disconnecting me every 5 minutes or so. When I was able to stay connected (never for long), the speed was in the single digits - pretty much completely useless. There was no do not disturb doorhanger in our room, and unless you notify the front desk, housekeeping may come in and take your used towels (regardless if they are wet and on the floor, or dry and hung on the towel rack ready for reuse). In our case, they didnt replace them with clean towels, they just took them (and left everything else alone). This concerned me as I did not want to be charged for the missing towels, nor do I want unexpected strangers in my room. Housekeeping should ONLY be by request unless someone is staying more than a few days - this is pretty standard at most places these days...except here, apparently. If they are short on towels, they need to buy more. Neighborhood is kinda sketchy. Walking between there and Six Flags should be fine, but dont go wandering around (its pretty obvious, but our Lyft driver warned us too). We never felt unsafe, but there were definitely some weirdos walking around and/or loitering (more so by the gas station, but the hotel and gas station are adjacent). If theyd get a regular breakfast back, fixed the internet, and stay the hell out of my room unless I request service, I would happily give them 3 stars, as I dont expect luxury from an Econo Lodge, but if they advertise free breakfast and internet, they should provide it (at the same standard as similar hotels - otherwise its a bait & switch).
Nothing fantastic. Lower rates than most stays in area. Fairly large rooms. Surcharge for smoking rooms. No real complaints. Convenient location for going to Six Flags. Paid $69/night for non smoking that turned into $167.32 plus $20 refundable hold for deposit on card after GA hotel fee & taxes for 2 nights.
I chose this motel because we were going to Six Flags. It wasn’t the worst we have stayed at but not the best. The hallway smelled like cigarettes. You had to pay a $20 deposit to ensure that you do not smoke in the room. There isn’t an elevator so if you cannot use stairs, this motel is not for you. There was something sticky on the carpet in front of the sink, we chose to wear our shoes at all times. Water pressure was not great but the bathroom was clean. We have AT&T and could not get a signal in our room. Overall, it was not best motel, inside or out. If you have time, look for a better quality.
This hotel is a nice hotel in a great area. The hotel is five minutes or less walk to Six Flags over Georgia, and you can go to the great food places which are about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. It was a clean hotel and I felt safe while inside the hotel. The only problem was the wifi. My computer would not connect for the life of me.
Very standard hotel. Very clean. Staff was extremely nice. Breakfast isnt served right now-probably bc of covid rules. 5minute walk to six flags was definitely worth saving on parking and the prices are equal to hotels 10minutes down the road. Will most definitely stay everytime we go to six flags.
The Econolodge was a decent value on Labor Day weekend. The room was mostly clean and well stocked. The location was near perfection for our purposes. Free parking was a huge plus. The hotel is right beside a convenience store for unexpected needs. Six Flags being walking distance saved us at least $30. The complimentary breakfast was extremely lackluster. Very little substance and only 1 waffle machine. Overall we were pleased, but would love an upgrade or 2 next time visiting ATL.
Ive been here 2 days and housekeeping hasnt came to clean this room yet. Came in yesterday and my door was wide open. No sign of housekeeping or housekeeping cart. Went to the desk and told them. Came back to my room door was closed and still not clean. I wouldnt refer this place to nobody.
Would rather sleep outside poor management, my room lights keep going off and on by themselves and most importantly no elevator so if you have lots of luggage get prepared to walk upstairs. The whole building needs to be knock down and rebuilt to be honest not worth the price or stay.
We stayed 2 nights here this weekend to visit Six Flags. We booked thru a third party site, and after reading some of the reviews we were kinda skeptical. We arrived late Friday night and although we dont smoke, the third party site had booked us a smoking room. To our surprise the room was not filled with burn holed bed spreads or burn stained counter tops... VERY CLEAN. The air conditioner worked great. (We travel a lot and always bring a box fan, air freshener, Lysol and bleach cleaner) None of which would have been needed if it was a non smoking room. Breakfast was good, fresh and clean every morning. They have top of the line security inside and out, I felt very safe and confident leaving our car and belongings. When we arrived back from six flags tired, sore and sun burnt our room was spotless. The staff was EXTREMELY attentive and friendly, willing to help with anything at any time. The bath tub was even clean enough for me to feel confident enough to allow our daughter to take a bubble bath. We have ZERO complaints and will definitely be back again seeing as we have membership passes ❤️
Worst place ever!!!! Bedding was nasty! Rug on the floor filthy! Did not feel comfortable at all. The place wreaked of smoke/weed smoke. Even though we paid and couldnt get our money back after seeing all of this, we left. It felt better outside! Didnt even want to give it that one star! Never again!
Very convenient location to six flags. Staff was very friendly. Our room had a decent sized stain on carpet and a few small ones on bedspread that most people wouldnt notice. Rooms were large and smelled clean ( no lingering odors) shower may be a Lil tough for taller individuals to navigate but it was nicely updated. Breakfast was standard cereal and make your own waffles. A little more variety would be nice but for a free breakfast it pretty standard.
We came in late from Six Flags and we were very pleased! The beds were firm, yet very comfortable & we had adequate blankets & pillows. The bathroom was very clean & well stocked with towels. Occasionally we could hear a family or a toddler passing in the hallway, but it was never a problem & I expected to hear late arrivals at a hotel across from an amusement park. The hotel had both non-smoking & smoking rooms, but there was zero trace of a smoke smell in our non-smoking room & smelled very fresh & clean. We were very pleased!
The front desk staff was very accommodating, friendly, and efficient. They allowed us to check in early, so we could park our car and head to Six Flags immediately upon arrival. The room accommodations were exactly what we reserved on the website. The room was clean, comfortable temperature-wise, nicely sized, and it was convenient to have a fridge and microwave in the room. Complimentary breakfast was a cost-saver before heading to Six Flags. The location of the hotel was excellent for walking to Six Flags, and made it easy to come back to eat and take breaks. I called the hotel to confirm they were about 5 minutes walking distance to Six Flags (which the front desk did confirm) based off another reviewers blog prior to making our reservation, and that was an extremely accurate statement. We appreciated the discounted military rate on the room. The only concern was the fitted sheet didnt stay on the bed while sleeping and the pillows were rather flat. We needed to get up throughout the night to fix the fitted sheet on the upper left corner of the mattress, as it was uncomfortable when it became bunched under us and we didnt like seeing the mattress exposed. It would have been nice to have had a small body wash for the shower (we did have soap, shampoo, and lotion in the room), but that was just a minor concern as we were taking a weekend trip and didnt pack all of our toiletries.
Only at this hotel (Six Flags) Ive had an issue with...about a month ago at another hotel my niece left her charger in the room and it was TURNED IN...They even offered to send it to her but we were only about 30 mins on the highway so I went back to get it..that was an honest employee and I appreciate her very much!
Weve stayed several times at this hotel as they are able to accommodate smokers. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are clean. Its walking distance to six flags. Only complaint is their bed linens. They are see through and fit incorrectly. The mattress covers need to be updated and put on correct size mattresses.
This is our second time staying at this hotel and it was even better than our first stay. Rooms are large and clean. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is just OK, lots of carbs and no protein. If you dont get a microwave in your room there is one in the dining area. 5 minute walk to Six Flags front gate. Beds are full size and not queen which was our only real negative. However the bed mattresses are very comfortable.
The A/C in our room didnt work and we had to call the front desk 5 times to complain about the people in the room above us but nothing was done. We werent able to move to another room even though the hotel was mostly empty and no one from the front desk ever went to the room above us to make them quiet down.
This hotel was just right for the money. The place was clean and felt safe. It does smell like people smoke where theyre not supposed to but other than that it was worth the inexpensive price we paid. The breakfast was simple but perfect for us. They let you stay parked there while you enjoy your day at Six Flags. Which saves $20. It took no time to walk to the park. We enjoyed our stay.
Hotel was in a great location for a six flags visit. Staff was nice and check in was quick. The rooms are all accessible from an inside corridor which is safe. The room was large but it smelled like stale cigarettes. The beds were extremely firm but the pillows were soft. Breakfast was prepackaged pastries, toast, cereal, and prepackaged oatmeal and grits, waffles, coffee, and juice.
My only problem I had was that pot smoke from the surrounding rooms permeated the hallway and into the nonsmoking room I was staying in. As a person with asthma and COPD, it sets off my lung reactions. When we informed the staff, we were met with a dismissive attitude and was told nothing could be done. Once we put towels under the door, the smell did not reach us. I like the hotel, but will not be staying there again.
We got this hotel for our trip to six flags. The location was great considering it was right beside the park. BUT, upon entering the hotel, there was an awful smell. The rooms were filthy, there were stains on our bed comforter, we took it off the bed and the sheets were clean, so trying not to be a complaining customer, we accepted we got what we paid for. The next morning, everyone in the group had a sore throat, AND I developed a horrible rash on my leg. Please do not stay here. If we could redo it, we would find a nicer hotel and Drive farther!!
THIS IS EXTREMELY CONVENIENT FOR SIX FLAGS. You save $25 on parking because thats what it costs at six flags. Also Ive seen some reviews stating that this hotel is in a bad neighborhood and thats not true. I think people see the bulletproof glass and assume that its bad. If you actually explore around town, the bulletproof glass is actually a very common practice. On to the actual room itself: I would have given this place four stars had it not been for the bathroom. It smelled very much like urine. Like old urine. I think its coming from the shower curtain because the bathroom was otherwise clean. It was only the bathroom though so we just kept the door closed and it was fine. The bed was comfortable enough, but the sheets and blankets were very old. I dont think it would cost them very much to update all of the sheets and blankets and I feel like it would make a big difference. Same with the shower curtains.Overall we were very thankful this place was here so close to Six Flags!
We arrived at the hotel after dark, so we couldnt see the outside, but it was easy to find and the traffic noise didnt follow you inside. Check in was very easy, the front desk had everything ready and waiting. The hotel was clean and welcoming. The room was clean and well equipped with both a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was clean and the shower was HOT! The bed was comfortable and provided a good night sleep. Breakfast was also good! Very satisfied and would stay again in the future.
This place was excellent for us to stay at and play at six flags. Within walking distance so you dont have to pay for parking. Their continental breakfast is a disappointment. The room does have a small fridge to use and a microwave...no coffee pot though. Would be willing to stay here again if needed. Its basically you get what you pay for. The rooms were clean and its location to six flags was excellent.
The room was very neat and clean. The air conditioning worked well. The sink area and shower were clean and. We did end up asking for extra pillows because the pillows were well used and flat. The breakfast was good with belgian waffles, cereal, toast and coffee, juice and milk. There were pre packaged pastries. Overall a good stay for the rate we paid. Would stay there again especially if going back to Six Flags as it was only a 5 minute walk to the gate to get in.
I came to atlanta and stayed at this hotel which was amazing. I am very picky and stay at upscale hotels usually. I was pleasantly surprised to a beautiful lobby, friendly staff, very nice breakfast area which was included by the way. Very yummy waffles, grits oatmeal, juice, coffee. Muffins etc. My son and i felt like we were a loving home. I will definitely stay here again. The rooms are clean and very comfy. No complaints.
The staff greeted us very warmly and the accommodations were spectacular. Definitely above average. The breakfast also had good variety and was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place. Its walking distance from Six Flags which also saves you the $25 Six Flag parking fee.
This hotel was awesome! When I read the reviews that said you could walk to Six Flags, I didnt believe it. But we got there and were very pleased. Its a very short walk to the park. Your hotel staff is very friendly and helpful! My only complaint would be that the towels are a tad thin and the water wasnt getting hot for me at times (but I like my showers really hot). Overall this hotel was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. We will be staying again in October for Six Flags Fright Fest 2014!
Was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel considering the price. Carpet in room looked new and walls looked newly painted. Bedding also looked new. Room and bath were clean. In walking distance to Six Flags which saved us $40 on parking. Will definitely stay there again.
King bed no smoking room was actually great. Had a fridge also. Six flags is literally within walking distance. Really have no complaints about this place. Does seem to be an older building. They price the rooms for a good value. Its not jacked up because its next to an attraction. Plan on staying here again.
Very reasonable price. You get what you pay for. Its certainly very close to six flags. Walking distance. Out dated rooms. The room served its purpose. The staff was excellent. Because of the staff I would certainly return when on a budget. The bathroom was very clean. However when taking a shower it tends to have standing water in tub. The bedding was Comfortable. I tend to dislike firm mattresses. This was suitable for the one night we stayed.
Didnt pay much, so I didnt expect much. But my non smoking room and the hallway smelled like smoke all the time. The carpet is greasy and nasty. Dont walk barefoot. WiFi is slow. Breakfast is very basic. 2 types of cereal, waffles, prepackaged stale muffins, and water downed juice. Beds are very hard and in all honesty I didnt want to sleep under the sheets. Only posting is it is very close to six flags. But gas station next door does not look safe.
We had a nice stay at this hotel. It was clean and within walking distance to six flags. The breakfast is very disappointing. I did not expect much because of other reviews and was still disappointed. They ran out of everything. I will probably stay here again because the hotel was clean and the staff were very nice and extremely helpful. I will just bring pop tarts and a coffee pot next time.
Great experience! I reserved 2 rooms for myself and family. We came from AL & NC for my daughters fashion show. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean the hotel was. Great price and it was kept up very well. I have never seen an Econo Lodge that nice. It was definitely a pleasure. Im one that reads reviews like crazy before making a decision and I was still a bit hesitant even though the overall reviews were good. You wont be disappointed. I will most definitely be staying here again when I return to Atlanta in the future.
Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the WiFi is good. The room had a mini fridge and microwave, and cable TV was available. The only complaints I have are that there was no coffee maker and the air conditioner was pretty noisy. The rate was fine. You can walk to Six Flags from it in about five minutes.
The room has comfortable beds. We have a fridge and tv. They work great. In the e morning, we had the breakfast. They offered a simple array of things. They are located within walking distance of Six Flags over Georgia. You can save the parking charge. The servo e has been really friendly, as well as the room service.
We were in the area on a mini-vacation to Six Flags. The location of this hotel made it very convenient but the hotel itself is very charming regardless. We loved the old-fashioned decor and thick walls. (No outside sounds, very quiet) We found the employees and management helpful and friendly. It was a great experience.
Our accommodations were satisfactory. Room was clean. Most staff were nice and professional. Breakfast ends at 9 which is a little early to me when children are involved. The lady working the breakfast hours does make it clear that she doesnt appreciate guests coming in near closing time. Other than that, our stay was great and so convenient to the park. We will return.
Booked this hotel looking for the convenience of being close to the park. Very close to the park. Easily within walking distance. Gas station beside the property. Nothing else around really but I knew this before hand. The hotel was clean, good tv channel selection, had hot water, beds were old but fine, parking lot is lighted very well, breakfast is very basic. I would stay here again.
This hotel is nice for the price. It is showing a little age, but for the price, it is great. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was fine. If you go there expecting 5 star quality, then you will be disappointed. For a good nights sleep after being at six flags all day, then you will be happy.
No smoking is not enforced in this Hotel in the non-smoking rooms. The Hotel smells such has there is an attempt to clean the air/carpet but unsuccessful. Do not count on breakfast, you will be disappointed. Bring any form of air freshener for your stay. Being aware of this, it is decent for a one-two night stay for Six Flags......nothing else.It seems they only want you there for an extremely short amount of time because they do not try to improve this hotle beyond 2 star rating.
I would never recommend to anyone. We were charge double for our stay and the staff would not help at all to resolve it. Had to get bank to cancel second transaction. The free breakfast is a bowl of cereal. No one came and cleaned the whole stay. We were not able to use wifi because it had a passcode and no one knew what it was. Stay far far away. Awful location. There are much much nicer hotels closer to Six Flags for your family to stay at.
I drove 12 hours from Texas to Georgia, so I was very tired and got a bit confused with my bill. A misunderstanding on my part, but the clerk was very short and rude to me as I tried to understand. She did not try to act helpful, she scoffed and scowled at every question I had. The same individual ran the breakfast which consisted of: Chunky Milk, 5 pieces of toast, a waffle iron that wasnt working with only 3 cups of waffle mix for an entire building and extremely watered down orange juice. For the price of the hotel room, I didnt expect much but to be frank that was the worst display of a breakfast I had ever seen. Prepackaged Muffins would be better than the meager assortment that was displayed. The room had a pungent odor, but it wasnt extremely offensive. I do understand it can be hard to get a smell out of older buildings. I understand people have off days, and older building smell, but I was very disappointed in the breakfast selection. Maybe its the fat kid in me, but I paid $30 extra to stay somewhere with an edible breakfast. Edible being the keyword here. My first time staying in an econolodge was met with disappointment and actually lowered the bar of standards to a point not thought possible. This experience has already become a unit of measurement for hotels Well.. At least its not Econolodge..
This hotel was ok and cheap. But it just not what i expected to be. I would not bring my family here again. Room was small and so was the double beds. It has an bad odor here. I was on the first floor and there were people above me making alot of noise half of the night. If you do decide to go here just make sure you check your bed. Before you lay your head down, you never know what u may find smh. I think this hotel need an update and needs to be remodel. The guy at the front was really nice and helpful and so was the staff thats the only good thing.
Hotel was ok to stay 2 nights while we visited Six Flags over Georgia. Hotel Picture is a bit deceiving since park it is not next door like it shows. There is an overpass and then park is next to it. It is a 5 minute walk to the park. Not bad at all if you dont have small children. Beds were uncomfortable. Hotel staff was ok and friendly. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but after all it is a continental breakfast. Waffles, cereal, coffee, juice, toast, some sort of cupcake and a honey bun. Room were clean and it look kind of nice on the inside, hotel does need a little renovation but overall it was ok. It was decent.
The room was very clean! I was pleasantly surprised by the upkeep of the facility. This was my first time staying at an Econo Lodge, but for the budget this was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of my needs following a very late arrival and long day of traveling. Im grateful for their hospitality.
As a frequent traveler, the price was reasonable, decent room, and the location was clean. As a non-smoker, who requested a non-smoking room, the refundable $20 upfront (additional) deposit for non-smoking accommodations, and the refund ($20) determined after a sniff test (I was told), I felt was a questionable practice. Although, a bit unusual policy (essentially non-smokers pay a deposit) in comparison to many other Choice Hotels and alternative brand locations I have stayed, across Georgia and the country, at least the deposit was returned. However, otherwise, the overnight stay was adequate, uneventful, and would stay again.
I recommend this hotel if you are visiting sixflags over georgia. Its in walking distance. Bring a iron because there is not one provided in every room. Rooms were clean. Be aware that there are no restaurants close to the hotel. We had to use mapquest to drive around and find places to dine. The room rates are budget friendly. But i have to say this is the first hotel that i have stayed in that processed my debit card the 2 nights we stayed there at check in. I thought that was strange.
Stayed here for the convenience of being within walking distance to Six Flags. Arrived before park opened and was allowed to park at hotel saving money. All employees we very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was waffles, cereal, and honey buns, juice and milk.
1. The room was not clean. There was garbage under the bed when we checked in and it was there when we checked out. The bathroom had roaches. The housekeeper did not close the door all the way when cleaning the first day. We returned to our room that evening and found the door open. Thankfully we put all of our valuables/electronics in our car. The woman who runs the breakfast bar in the morning was surly, rude and unwelcoming. The breakfast is open from 6-9 am and we came there a few minutes after 9. She snatched the cereal out of my hand to put it away and frowned at me. I tried to make a waffle and she said There always one person who comes after 9 and still expects waffles and then poured waffle mix into the maker. She should have just said no if she felt that strongly about me being late to breakfast. You are located across the street from Six Flags, which does not open until 10. It makes sense to keep the breakfast area open until 9:30 because a lot of people are going to be getting ready to eat at 9. The internet access was spotty and kicked me off every 10 minutes. At least it was free. The room smelled like cat urine. The beds are not comfortable. The sheets come up at the corners if you roll at all, which indicates that they are very old and have lost all the elastic in the corners. The pillows were hard like flat pancake rocks.
The check in was easy and fast. The guy who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. While the breakfast was not vast, it was nice to have before we took off for our second day of amusement parks. There was an attendant making the waffles for everyone and she was lovely. It was an overall good experience.
Decent place for the price. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Room had fridge and microwave. Bathroom was clean.Smooking and non smoking rooms available. Linens are clean but very thin sheets. Walking distance to six flags. Will definitely stay here whenever we visit sixflags. Seems closer walking then if you park at six flags lot. Late check in 4pm. Call if you need earlier they will try to accommodate.
This was our second stay at this hotel, which we book because it is within walking distance to Six Flags Over Georgia. The staff is helpful and polite. Continental breakfast was as good as any place Ive stayed recently. Rooms have been updated a bit. Some websites still list the availability of a swimming pool but there isnt one, FYI..
Weve stayed here 3 times in the last 1 year! The staff is kind, pleasant and helpful. It is not the Hyatt or Omni but since that was not our expectation we never expected it to be swanky. It has always been clean and surprisingly quiet. The lady who tends the continental breakfast is adorable. Both my husband and I have slept well as did our teen kids when they went with us. We purchase Season Passes to Six Flags and enjoy walking over. It is close enough to leave for a snack! It is centrally located to downtown and many restaurants are nearby. Weve have used a couple other hotels in the area..they may have had a pool, gym, and other amenities, but we are pleased with Econo Lodge Austell...great value with nice staff!
I wish I could give this hotel a -1 for the rating and price. The reviews that are saying that they give this hotel a 5 star rating and state that the rooms are nice have to be the owner. The rooms I repeat are horrible the mattress on the beds are more that 5yrs old with horrible stains. I have reported this matter to the Health Department for inspection. Horrible the owner has his elderly parents cleaning the rooms., which arent cleaned properly.
I probably spent two dozen nights at this particular hotel over the summer. I particularly like it because the building seems to be well constructed (i.e. the walls are thick and the rooms are quiet). That means that I do not bother the other guests and they do not bother me. Therefore, I get a good nights sleep which is the primary purpose for the room. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and coffee is always ready at 6:00 am.
Will we had made reservations at other hotel but when we got there check in was 3pm and it was 9am when we got there. So we drove up to Six Flags to see it and whats around we find this hotel and there check in was 3pm also, but they were very helpful and I pay 10$ to check in early. It turned out great for me and my husband and 4 kids. We could walk to six flags in 5mins and its actually closer from the motel then six flags parking lot plus we didnt have to pay for parking. The double rooms are very spacious and the beds are big. It has a clean fridge and bathrooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The desk clerk also gave told us were Walmart was and food places. They helped with everything we needed... The breakfast needs a little more like fruit or boiled eggs. They did have waffles and muffins and honey buns. I would stay again..
Overall experience was great. The night staff lady was super sweet and attentive and the morning staff man and cleaning woman were pleasant as well. Breakfast is sorely lacking but we were able to make do. The room was clean, needs were overall clean and aside from the air-conditioning being a little fickle (it was really cold on the medium cold setting), it was a good experience and we were able to rest up while we went to Dragon con.
Great service. The room was comfortable and had sufficient space. Theres a washer and dryer available to guests. The front desk said that I can park at the hotel while visiting the park. No refrigerator at the breakfast area, so no HC eggs or yogurt. Staff apologized, and noted they will be getting refrigerator soon.
This hotel has underwent MANY renovations & change of hands in management over the years. Some have been better than others. I remember the area, when only the ARROWHEAD campground was in the area. This incarnation of the hotel, is rather nice. Its nothing fancy, but comfortable & close to the entrance of SIX FLAGS. Hotel personnel were very polite & well versed in the area. Bathrooms are quite small. However, with the age of the property, this was the average size, when it was originally built. Wi FI, though, was difficult, or impossible to connect. Disappointing in that way, since youre paying for the connection in the room rate.
Overall hotel was clean and room was large for the price. Breakfast was just OK but about what I expected. Evening front desk person extremely rude with regard to complaint of dirty sheets.he continued to argue with me that the sheets were not dirty despite me showing him the crusty spot on the sheets. Gave no apologies or offer to change the sheets and had attitude when I said I still wanted clean sheets which I ended up changing the bed myself.
We came for the weekend of Fright Fest and were not pleased as soon as we drove into the parking lot. The building is run down and the entire inside of the hotel smelled of old walls and cigarettes. Our room was not stocked with towels or toilet paper. And when prompted at the front desk for more toilet paper, we received 1 roll?? The continental breakfast was scarce as well. Pay a few more dollars and get a better hotel :)
Our room smelled smoked in and old. The hotel needs updating. We washed our clothes because we had been at a water park ( no big deal but it was machines you had to pay to use) and when we went to dry them in the dryer the change part was stuck and we couldnt dry them. The manager came down and said he could not fix it. I explained that our clothes would mold because we would be at 6 flags all day the next day. He told us that there was a coin laundry mat 5 minutes away. Ok, wait! We our on vacation and the last thing I wanted to do was go downtown Atlanta in the middle of the night to do laundry. Not to mention the dryer not working was not our fault. After getting aggravated and threatening a bad review he agreed that if we gave him the 1.50 he would dry our clothes in the dryers used to launder the sheets. Your dryer is broken you should offer that without threats. A out of order sign is also not a bad idea. The wyfi was so bad we were better off using our data.
The outside of hotel is small. Two levels. Hotel staff sits behind a bullet proof glass. Hotel has an odor. Carpet is very dirty and needs to be pull out. Hallway to rooms very narrow. Continental breakfast very cheap looking consisting of Trix cereal and bread. Insider of room a lot nicer than outside of room. Pillows are thin. Bring your own if you want to sleep well. Sheets are clean but very thin. Towels are thin and dingy looking. Although next to six flags, you can get a nicer hotel one exit over. I did like the mini refrigerator and microwave in room but i did not like that doors did not have a chain lock.
Ive stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years. The hotel is older, and could use a bit of remodeling, but the rooms are spacious and clean and the view of Goliath across the street is a wonderful site first thing in the morning. The breakfast is lacking, but for an inexpensive, comfortable room so close to an amusement park, I cant complain about a free perk. Ill definitely stay here again.
Overall my experience was VERY GOOD! I have to say that other than the little things that happened like the slow internet and non-working phone they really exceeded my expectations. I was glad that I got to inspect the room before-hand. I was super pleased with the continental breakfast! The waffles were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I swear if all hotels/motels/suites/resorts/etc had a station where you can make your own waffles (FOR FREE) Id try to go to ever single one of them (and probably get fat in the process haha)! The guy that checked me in was nice and confident! I honestly thought he was some haughty snob initially but not too long before the end of my stay did I realize just how much of an impact his job had on him. He was very proud to be there and be a part of making the hospitality at EconoLodge look a lot like home and I can definitely understand why! That was THE BEST stay that Ive ever had at an EconoLodge and I would second guess going back there (to the one near 6 flags in Austell, GA) again.
The rooms are okay but management has a rule the puts guests out of rooms from 12 to 4 even if you’re staying long term. They offered to charge me $20 for early checking in even though I booked the room long before check out time after staying two nights. Guess I’ll be at the Wyndham 🤷🏾♀️
The room was filthy. the carpets were dirty and stained. There was a dead roach in my tub. i had to pay for batteries to put in the remote. The staff was notified but didnt seem concerned. But the worst thing is at 7 AM i woke to a woman standing in my room. I later found out it was housekeeping but she entered my room without knocking. when i talked to the front desk i was told most people are gone by now..at 7 AM???? DO NOT stay here pay a few more dollars and get better. We have season tickets and next time we will know better.
Making a reservation is reccommended. I didnt and had to get a double room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I didnt eat the breakfast. The only problem I could foresee is if you are tall, the shower will be awkward. The shower head is set low for me (55) so anyone taller may find it inconvenient. There was a faint smell of cigarette smoke in the hall, but I believe it was due to guests who had recently walked by, not the hallway.
Stayed 2 nights for a trip to 6 flags. I dropped the kids off, but you could easily walk. Rooms are large, I brought an extra mattress for a kiddo who wont sleep with anyone else, and there was ample room. Breakfast looked typical, but stopped at 9, so no one else got up in time to see it since the park opens at 10:30. Im gluten free, so the waffles did me no good : ). Fridge and micro in room, bathroom clean, TV worked good, internet was spotty, as is typical. Floor was iffy, but its hard to keep carpet clean. Id stay there again just for the proximity, but Id bring a noise maker or earplugs.
When I looked online, I saw that about 83% of guests recommended this motel. But we were not so impressed. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and polite, and our room was reasonably clean. However:* The hall was smokey, and it really seeped into our room, especially in the middle of the night.* The extra cloths we requested were thin and rough.* The continental breakfast was so sparse (2 sugary cereal options, cheap waffles, no eggs, very watered-down apple juice, tiny pre-wrapped breakfast rolls, etc.) that we ended up eating elsewhere.* The breakfast area is also extremely dark and rather smokey smelling.* Less of a problem, but still worth mentioning: The bathroom was tiny.
Should’ve gone with my gut feeling. At the time we checked in, I noticed a two inch thick glass separating the customer from the hotel employee. The hallways and room smelled like curry and mold. Beds were super uncomfortable and the breakfast wasn’t continental, it was Hobo breakfast!
Its a good hotel, especially for the price. Stayed there for about a week. The staff is helpful, and understandable. The breakfast is very basic, but still good! Mostly just waffles and cereal. And its within walking distance of the park! Perhaps even closer than some of SixFlags parking, haha!
Great location (walking distance to Six Flags) and large rooms for the price, but otherwise poor stay. There is no elevator, and the breakfast is very limited. It is run-down and not well-maintained. Adequate for the park location only, but no restaurants or stores nearby.
The hotel has a terrible odor in every part of the hotel including the room! It looks old and scary! They definitely need to do some serious renovating! I strongly feel that the only reason they are still in business is because they are in walking distance from six flags!
This hotel is very old and poor quality. We booked a king bed however when we arrived the clerk told us that the housekeepers had reported a bad odor in that room. It was the last king. He offered us a double which we took because it was already very late and we did not want to search for another room that late. The floor was suppose to be non smoking but cigarette smoke was so strong from the hallway that I couldnt stand at the sink.I brought this to the attention of the attendant that night but it continued.Would not recommend this hotel unless you are a heavy smoker then you may not mind.
Was pleased with what we got for what we paid, but then the surprise came after we checked out. We were out loading our car for a few minutes but then went back inside to ask a question. Once inside the manager said one of the pillows was missing from our room and would be charged to my card. Well of course I went to check my car to see if wed accidentally picked it up. We had brought our own pillows and blankets. We didnt have it so I asked to go back and check under the beds. When I went back the room was already cleaned and the housekeeper said they had already replaced it. Well, what can you do? I certainly didnt want or take any hotel pillow. Definitely disappointed this would happen. By the way, we had brought a new pillow of our own so I just gave them that. No telling what we might have been charged.
This was the nicest EconoLodge Ive stayed at, cheap but nice. 10 minute drive to the end of the MARTA blue line (Hamilton Holmes, lots of parking) for easy access into the city without driving downtown. Id stay here again. Note, there is $20 deposit on non-smoking rooms, though since Im sensitive to cigarette smoke Im glad they are strict.
If you have a family and are visiting Six Flags over Georgia this a great place to stay, Breakfast was barebones but the lady running it was very nice. The room was good size but I am not sure if the mini fridge ever got cold. Also the pillows are so thin I couldnt believe it.
Extremely slow WiFi every time we attempted to use it. Breakfast mediocre with only bread items - fresh fruit & protein such as boiled eggs would have been much more satisfying and worth a couple dollars more for rate. Otherwise room was clean, beds decently comfortable.
I thought I that this hotel was gonna be worn down and cheap but upon arrival I was so surprised. My room was clean, no funny smells, excellent customer service and very convenient to Six Flags over Georgia. I will absolutely be staying here for every visit because I have a Six Flags membership. They have me for life!
Overall it was a good stay. Quite, no yelling or screaming. But I can tell the hotel is pinching pennies. The breakfast is just bare basics. Dry cereal, a waffle maker and coffee. No protein products, no healthy items. The WiFi is terrible. Signal doesnt reach to room and trying to connect to is horrible process. I end up using my data the entire time. The room itself is OK. Mold in bathroom where the grout lines are. The bed are not comfortable at all. Pillows are flat. The bedding is bare minimum. A sheet and comforter. Cable TV is bare as well, no HD channels, just analog. For $60/night, this might just be standard.
The best thing about this hotel was the distance from the park. The staff was also very nice. I wish that I would have been aware of the absence of an elevator because after a long trip my boyfriend and I would like the pleasure of not carrying bags while tired. Otherwise it served its purpose.
It is a very convenient hotel and perfect for attending Six Flags! The staff is very nice and helpful.. They offered to print some last minute tickets for us and were very helpful with directions and restaurant locations!! We have stayed here several times and will be back again!!It was worth the price you pay and convenience to walking to Six Flags!!I would definitely recommend it!!
Great value and great location. My only recommendation is to make sure you dont forget your toiletry items! This hotel does not provide them as most other hotels do. You have to go buy a travel size tube of toothpaste from the vending machine for $2. This was so tacky to me, but other than that we were happy with the accommodations we had for the price we paid.
Only problem I had was I smell bad because of the painting that they were doing. Also the traffic at the hotel was a hot mess. They was a lot of road construction. We caught it walking to and from Six Flags. Crossing the street made me feel like I was playing the game froggy. There is no where to go there but Six Flags. You have to get back on 20 to find a place nice to eat.
The price of the hotel is decent for what you will get. The room is quite nice... but the hall way that you MUST go through smells like a smoke stack. It truly smells disgusting going through that to get to your room. The breakfast was a bit lackluster, and once I found a dead fly INSIDE the orange juice container where guests utilize to get the juice from.Besides that, its OK. Nothing special.
Waited 30 mins to check in and I was the only one. The receptionist was out cleaning rooms. There were zero amenities in the room. No coffee maker, microwave, hair dryer, and ironing board. Room had a very strong orange sherbet smell that seemed to cover up cigarettes in a non smoking room. The smell gave my wife a migraine. Breakfast consisted of all carbs and no fruit, dairy, or protein. I reserved a non smoking room because I do not smoke, but was required to pre authorize $20 if I did smoke. What hotels these days still have smoking rooms? Their policy obviously doesnt work... hence the sherbet smell.
I stay in cheap hotels and I stay in $120 a night hotels. This one falls in the middle and is great with me. Room I was in was in really good condition with microwave and fridge. At this price, comfort, security, and ease to get to is a big plus for me. I can stay where i want, and Ill be staying here every time I come to Atlanta.
Location. Location. Location. For the price, this hotel can not be beat. You are walking distance to Six Flags Over Georgia. We travel quite a bit and have stayed at hotels all over the US. From Check- In, breakfast and housekeeping, the staff at the Econo Lodge are the friendliest we have ever experienced. We had a great visit.
One bc it wont let me give 0 or negative. Booked a room online, drove all the way from Texas. After arriving finally at 3 am I was told if I wanted to stay I would have to book 2 rooms. Why? Because there are only allowed 4 to a room. Btw..it was me and my 4 children all under the age of 13. And these people think I need to get another room to put one of my children that young in? Ridiculous. But we went over to comfort inn and suites on exit 44 and they were amazing. So nice ,helpful, had to pay a little more but definitely worth it and Im sure the room here is way better than the other would have been. So keep your crappy rooms and your no values. We can do better. 👋
I stayed at this location for 4 days. Come in the last day in all my food has cockroaches all over. I addressed this with the manager and ask for reimbursement for my food and just to change rooms. He reimburse me for the food and asked me to leave and reimburse me for the last night I had already paid for. He said it was not fair for him to have to pay for the reimbursement of Food. Basically he kicked me out of his Hotel. Luckily he did reimburse me for the food and the night I had already paid for but I have never been kicked out for reason that is not even mine. Sounds like hes trying to cover something up anyways here is The evidence.
We were falsely accused of putting a hole in the wall. The hotel manager locked us out of our room and told us that we could not get our things until $100 was paid. We were not about to pay for something that we didnt do so he told us to leave. We had already paid for 2 nights with cash. He didnt give us a refund or anything. I would definitely not be staying there ever again. I had to do a police report for this sad incident! Do not stay here!!!
No hot water. Used to be a regular customer here but never again. Used to be wonderfully relaxing hot water for showers but no more. Im here now and the manager is telling me that they keep their water at a certain tenoerature due to health code regulations in the county that i have never heard of before and never seen enforced at any other hotel in this county. And cant show me these so called regulations which tells me they are keeping the water temp low to keep their bills as low as possible. Also their was a rogue piece of carpet cut out of the floor just laying there.
It is confident and cozy place...The staff is extremely helpful and wonderful people.. My husband and I always stay here. They always go out their way to help us. The only thing i do no like is I wish they would have a better choice of breakfast. The only things on the list for breakfast is Waffles, cereal and usually small honey bun and a muffin. Toast and of course coffee and orange juice.
Dirty, musty, smoky, hallways are sloped downhill, sticky carpets. One side of hallway faces the freeway (and Six Flags) that is very noisy. They added an extra $20 charge to my bill which they said was a Smoking Deposit that they said would not be charged. Turns out, they did charge it & it takes 5-7 business days to be removed - Im not holding my breath (unless I go back in that hotel)!!!AND YOU GET 0 CHOICE REWARD POINTS!!!!!!
Great value. It is clean, simple, and comfortable. Very close to the park. You could walk there and save the 20 dollar parking fee. The staff are always nice and friendly. My only complaint is that very little effort goes into breakfast. It needs to be more of a priority.
Went to book online and successfully reserved my room to avoid storm this weekend. call to check on my reservation to see if i can pay cash in person. i was told that they needed to run a credit check and see if im approve. if not then they will need to hold x amount of money on my card if not they would cancel my reservation. i told them that the website did not gave me an alert or prompt me that incidentals would be charge on my card prior to me checking in. i told him that i am more than willing to pay the amount once ive checked in because i was not prompt to pay the amount before hand. he told me that they do not have to let anyone know about this charge.also my family is in the hotel business i know everything bout booking a hotel i am aware of incidental fees
If your looking for a cheap place to stay. This is your place. Wasnt the cleanliest place, but not the dirtiest. We found an old sock and food under the bed. We couldnt find the remote to the TV, and there were dirty blankets in the dresser drawers. Other than those minor items, not bad.
The hotel in walking distance to Six Flags. Thats what we were looking for, convenience. There arent many places to eat around there unless you like Waffle House or want to order pizza, so be prepared to take a drive to a resurant. The hotel staff is very friendly and more than willing to help.
Pros: good price, good location.Cons: Check the amenities, no alarm clock, no microwave, no coffee maker and no iron in room. You can borrow an iron and ironing board from the front office. Continental breakfast is toast, cereal and waffles. Not allowed to bring coffee into rooms. Floor was dirty. Wi-Fi is terrible, could barely load basic websites. Bed was uncomfortable, pillows flat, one was moldy and looked like someone may have left it behind (didnt match the others). A/C doesnt regulate temperature, Either too hot or too cold (doesnt kick back on fast enough).
Everything was fine up until they accused me of stealing their linen as if I would ever want to take linen that hundreds of DIFFERENT people have done god knows what on & invite it into my home. Although I know many do it. I have incurable ocd & I’m also a former housekeeper so I like things neat & clean wherever I go so I thought I’d help the housekeeper by gathering the dirties & garbage myself. So much for a good deed. They kept my deposit but it’s okay because I’ll never stay there again.
EconoLodge over Six Flags is a very safe and convenient place. My husband and I always stay when we go to Six Flags with our family. The young lady Mirah is a very pleasant young lady that always go out her way to help someone and do what she needs to do to make you feel comfortable.Just wish the owners would change up the Breakfast Menu some. Or even add some Sausages..Or maybe change the cereal...But all in all.. we enjoy staying at EconoLodge and we enjoy seeing Mirah and talking to her.
The motel manager & his assistant were rude & insensitive to our elders/Mothers of the Church, our bus had an emergency. We had people on the bus with health problems. The right thing he could have done was allowed us to use his lobby but instead he told us to leave his property even though we had elderly people with health issues. Not what Ican do to help. ..it would have been good for his business. One day, they will become old & would want the same empathy if something happened to them. I wouldntgive them any stars.
Friendly staff cold rooms . Nice place to stay . We always come here when we go to sixflags. Never had a bad experience . Breakfast awesome . Dnt pay attention to the folks saying they need a bigger selection Ive been to motels where they just had honeybuns for breakfast .
Check in was horrible I had to wait for the manager to check me in, the wifi was horrible kept getting booted, the breakfast items were slim and seemed to be left out over night and the waffle mixes were reused for multiple days. the hd tv has only sd channels (very grainy). it reminded me of a roadside motel that you stay in as a last resort.
I like EconoLodge Hotel by Six Flags, they have a great person that works there and her name is Miram, I believe I spell her name right. She is a blessing to the Hotel. The only complaints I have of this particular Hotel is, the pillows are not comfortable at all, and the bed seems narrow and my family would just wish they could come up with a better breakfast. You know change it up a little...
Although, I called ahead to state that I would be arriving late. Once, I got there it appeared as if the staff rented out my original room because my key cards were for the room that I heard her give to the guest standing before me. Then, she gave me the same key cards but to a different room. Which, they did not work so I had to return them for the correct key cards.
The continental breakfast left much to be desired. Everything offered was on short supply and they kept running out of coffee, milk, and mix for the waffles. The person responsible of keeping it stocked worked very slow and people had to wait. Proximity to six flags is very favorable. The beds were horrendous to sleep on, very uncomfortable.
It was just different, I know it was a value motel but I still thought Choice hotels had guidelines. I was told my rate was AAA and I could not get points . I had 2 rooms since I have 4 kids. Breakfast only till 900 and the lady running it was there all night and really wanted to go.

2022-04-19Don’t waste money or time. Nightmare getting checked in. Mainly because the reservation was under my husbands name and the card being used had my name on it. The lady seriously looked at us and said..” uh.. I don’t know what to do… “ why should it matter? We are married, she had both our driver’s license and we both have the same last name. Room was dirty. Something all over the walls, hair everywhere. Something sticky all over the head board. The sheets were clean but that was all that was clean. Lobby is nice but the rest of the hotel is very dated! They charge a 20$ deposit for smoking and you better make sure you have that $20 ready!!! They will chase you down the hall if you forget that they forgot the $20!!!! They called and woke us up because they forgot to add the $20! Made my husband get up, get dressed and go down to re run the card. Couldn’t wait til morning. However, the shower was good. Got hot really quick and had good pressure. Hair all over the walls and in the tub though. I cleaned it myself before I even thought about using it. Same with headboard, sink, counters etc. thank goodness I happened to have some cleaning stuff on hand. I mean who Carrie’s cleaning supplies in case you have to clean your own room??? I had them because I had been cleaning my sons apartment. I just wish I had went somewhere else at the beginning!

2021-12-22Positive: The proximity to Six Flag. The feel of the hotel was very warm and inviting (my son said he felt like he had stepped back into the 1920s he likes). The room was very spacious. Shampoo was in a personal sized bottle versus a ketchup pack. Well be back. Negative: Scratchy polyester comforter. No coffee maker in the room. Bath fan on with light.. disrupts others sleeping in the middle of the night. Small parking spots. No safe in room.

2022-04-07For anyone going to the Six Flags across the highway, this is one of the best places to stay as far as the location goes. Ive actually been here twice and both times Ive had less than positive experiences. Our first visit had spotty wifi, light fixtures that werent connected, and a broken AC unit. We didnt really mind it because the location was perfect, and the view of the park was pretty cool too. On my most recent visit, the room had hardly been cleaned between guests and it was obvious, the beds were probably the cleanest things in there so it was a comfortable place for a night. The second night, it turned out that our hotel room had cockroaches in it. They were entering through a little hole behind the only picture on the wall. Long story short I ended up not sleeping well that night. If you were wondering about the appliances, everything but the wifi worked fine. The wifi actually got worse. Outside of that, this hotel is only worth it for the park, and after the bug incident I had on my last stay, Ill be looking to that Super 8.

2022-06-11We paid for 2 queen beds and got 2 full instead. Sheets were kinda dirty and it looked like holes were burned into comforter. Its kinda run down but close to where we needed to be.

2022-07-09The hotel was outdated in the rooms but was pleasant upon entry. The location wasnt the greatest due to a phone was stolen in the car beside the hotel.

2022-06-15Positive: That is near six flags. Negative: The room was dirty, had cockroaches, dust, smell like smoking cigarettes, no elevator, no iron, laundry machines were broken, and I could go on.

2021-12-29This was a midpoint pitstop to our vacation destination. Rate for room was overpriced for accommodations. Site said free continental breakfast, yet they said no breakfast included (no discounted price). We paid more here than at a previous Comfort Suite with breakfast included. Hotel is both smoking and non-smoking, and therefore people smoke in all the rooms. We had to change rooms as the first one (non-smoking and supposedly clean), still had cigarette ashes on the TV stand and odor. It is a single building so whole hotel made us sick from the ventilation. Way to start out a vacation.

2022-02-11The staff was great. Breakfast is pathetic, something that’s supposed to be coffee and a packet of grits. Vending machines only take coins or dollar. Walking distance to Peach State Freightliner and Six Flags
