Food was amazing, really good, first time when to this place a highly recommended.
The Pollo Chipotle was covered in real cheese, and not some kind of nondescript sauce. It had good seasoning, too. Just a hint of spicy and smoky chipotle flavor. The salsa was a bit spicy for some, and a bit watery. Overall a solid choice for Mexican if you can spare the time to get there from Road Atlanta.
No waiting if you sit @bar , NOT ANYMORE!You now have to wait after everyone else is seated.Wait is long on the weekends.More people moving into the area.Dont expect authentic or exceptional, average food but usually fast.If you get a small portion or cold food (which will happen), say something they usually make good on it.Margaritas are sometimes watered down and weak (little to no alcohol).Beer is beer.Fajitas are good.Chips are thick, not thin but the salsa is good.Other locations are very similar.
Best Mexican food around - the staff is always so friendly (even when it is so busy) they take the time to greet you, treat you to always having a full glass of whatever you are drinking and the food is very affordable

We had a fantastic and fast service. The portions were large and the jalapeño pickles are housemade. We enjoyed all the food that we could manage to eat.

Its a decent place for lunch. It wasnt busy when I dined around 2:30pm. I had a taco, enchilada and refried beans with water as a beverage. It was less than $7 + tip.
We go this Mexican restaurant when Camino Real is too busy. The staff is very nice. Their margaritas are tasty and the food is plenty good. Typical tex-mex but the do have a large variety of menu choices.
Went here for the first time during my recent stay in Braselton. Great locals spot. Its not fancy inside, but the food was excellent and the service was amazing. Ill be coming back to Braselton next year for the same event and Ill most certainly stop in for another dinner 👍
This restaurant always has good food but not enough servers. Servers had to many tables to give everyone attention when needed.
This place is absolutely delicious, the strawberry margarita is the best that weve had here in the Braselton area, and the food was delicious, I highly recommend trying them out.

Great little hidden gem. If you like margaritas I would suggest the Texas Margherita. Definitely in my top 5 Margaritas Ive ever had. I ordered the Supreme enchiladas... Be warned its a lot of food. Can easily feed two people :-) Excellent service and atmosphere!

Got 2 chicken burritos with rice and beans. Some of the chicken was cold. A little overpriced for quality of food.
Food was decent. Didnt make my food the way they normally do, though. High chair was super wobbly, and the buckle was broken. So be careful about that! Our waiter failed to check on us towards the end of our meal, and forgot to bring us to go drinks. So we were only able to have 1 drink the entire time we were there. Super packed, as usual.

Worst taco salad I ever had. It didnt even have cheese on it. Service was poor…I dont get it with so much competition this restaurant is not on its A game.
Maybe tonight was not their night. I dont usually leave reviews but it just was not a good experience.. My texas nachos were definitely microwaved, super hot plate, cold meat. Told the waiter about it... plate comes back, EVERYTHING is super flat on the plate... common, I know you zapped it in the micro again. And then, My wifes Choriquezo... the jalapeño was spoiled... I politely told the lady at the front, we didnt get charged but I wasnt going to keep eating there, so we left. Being rude is not the way to go, but I wasnt going to pay for microwaved dinner and spoiled food on our plates. Half the margarita I had was good tho.
Wonderful food here, they are so very friendly. The cost of the food is cheaper than several other places I have been to. UPDATE The service today May 22,2022 was a little slower than before l, waitress didnt come to ask if we needed as many refills. It took 10 minutes to check out in line

So delicious! I had the chicken chimichanga for the first time. Packed with flavor! Rice and guacamole salad completed my plate. Our waiter, sorry I didnt get his name, was fantastic! He was on top of the service..we so much enjoyed him!Following CDC guidelines, restaurant was very clean, restroom was clean.If you are wanting some delicious Mexican food you should give El Centinela a try! We will be back!

Only did take out but wait staff was extremely helpful in suggesting an amazing dish. Food came out fast and tasted amazing. Wish it had more shrimp but I look forward to trying more dishes. Will definitely be back
Bad customer service. Few of waiters got attitude problem. Please be careful before you go there. I do not recommend this restaurant because of their bad customer service. We ordered food in beginning and they brought less food than we ordered. Then they brought other food after everything got cold. Bad service. Please be careful.

My family and i have been eating here for over 10 years religiously. it is by gar the best authentic mexican food. I am lucky enough to have had the pleasure of calling a lot of the staff friends and am always recommending it to people.
I wanted to give it a 4.5 but couldnt. Food was great quality, lot of it,and received it very quickly even though they were very busy. Wait staff could use improvement in the personality dept but I was there to eat,not to make friends. The decor could use improvement also

Everything was super fresh and tasty here. I could actually taste the flavor of my chicken and the red tomatoes on my salad. Not all places have such good quality as here. This is definitely on the top of my list!

The food is consistantly wonderful, prices are great, and out of the MANY to go orders I have placed, they have never gotten anything wrong. Its nice to know I dont have to check it before I leave. Also, it seems instead of having server or waiter, they all collectively wait on you. So you never have to wait for someone to refill your drink or chips. The food is always out quick also.
I used to love this place but since the pandemic they havent done well adjusting. Tonight I called in for takeout and was told to give them 20 mins for the order. I arrived 30 mins later and after paying for order I was told to wait outside with 2 other people. 40 MINUTES later I finally get my order! The other 2 people also said that they waited 50 minutes after paying even tho they were told 20 minutes. Not sure if Ill visit again but if I do itll be after the pandemic of they survive it. Word of caution, theyre lying when they say 20 minutes. Give yourself ample time to wait outside on the cold.
We started off with the half pitcher of Texas margaritas and queso with jalapeños. I ordered chicken soup and quesadilla al pastor. Everything was delicious! Our waiter, Julio, was very personable & attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!
We were in at lunchtime. We ordered off the lunch menu. We said lunch on the items we ordered. The waiter brought out dinner sized - we didnt know, we dont work there, so we ate half and asked for a box. The check came and we were charged $4 more each. We brought it to the waiters attention and he said we didnt get lunch portions. He refused to accept it was his mistake and then argued with me and asked why did I eat it then. It was the most ridiculous thing and rather than admit he made a mistake, he continued to argue about it for a full five minutes. He even accused us of wanting a free meal. We told him we will pay full price for what we ordered but not a total of $8 more for his mistake. I hope the owner sees this and corrects his bad behavior. They have good food, but we dont appreciate being treated this way.
Waited for over an hour for our meals. They explained that call in orders were high so we had to wait. When we got our food it was over cooked.
Food is good. Service can be really slow. Waited about 15 minutes once before someone asked what I wanted to drink. Thought I was waiting on a woman because I was there with my daughter. Nope. Some guys can raise a kid solo too. Not a huge deal. They can get bogged down at dinner. Usually always crowded. Good margs too. Staff is always friendly.

Ordered a chicken Quasadillas with red sauce...was delicious! Had to ask for my side of jalapenos twice. Tortilla chips needed a bit of salt but were warm. Salsa was good but for me needed a little spice! Service was friendly and fast. I would go again.
The service was fast, the server was knowledgeable about what was available and the wait for my order was short. The downside is the beer selection is a bit weak and they were in a rush to get the check to you without asking if we wanted a refill or another drink.
Love this place. The food is excellent and the restaurant was not crowded for a Sunday. No loud music so you can have dinner conversation.
We came during a quieter time of the day and the food was amazing. Since moving back into the area we have been trying every possible Mexican restaurant in surrounding areas. We are glad we found this spot and will definitely be back. Our new go to for Mexican.
I have been a customer here since it opened. It is still my favorite when it comes to quality food, service, and environment. But the last few times I was there the food decent at best. Not busy and you could tell that it had been sitting under the food lamp for a while. They raised there prices a bit over the years but its worth it even on its good days. But I cant say its worth it when its warm, soggy, and clearly not fresh.

We went there yesterday (Fri night 6:30) to celebrate my grandsons birthday. Our group had 10 people total. We were given a table in the back room with plenty of seats to accommodate all of us plus room for the bday gifts at the end of the table. I should also mention we had 5 separate checks. The food was delicious, reasonably priced especially considering the enormous portions! I had a hard time making up my mind, the server was a big help! Their menu is about 6 pages long so if anyone in your party can be indecisive, it might be a good idea to preview the menu online before going. Ill be doing that next time! One of us got a vegetarian meal & she said it was delicious, steak tacos were good, I usually go the safe route and get a combination plate. Nobody had any complaints from food. We had to wait quite a while for all of the food to arrive but it was sizzling hot so I didnt mind. Towards the end of dinner, the back room was pretty busy so it took a long time to see our waiter for refilling drinks etc. We brought an ice cream cake & had asked them to put it in the freezer to bring out after dinner. When they brought it out, it was all melted so we assume they put it in the fridge. On a positive note, the accompanied our request while singing Happy Birthday...they plopped my grandson in the face with a bowl of whipped cream! Highlight of the night!! All in all, food was great, prices were great, friendly staff, just a bit busy 👍

The food was good. The taco shell fell apart. I am not sure why that happens but it does in some places. Beer ice cold. Salsa was ok, not great. The guacamole I think had mayo or something mixed in. The meat in the tacos was excellent. Service was excellent. I would have given 5 stars but they really need to fix the taco shells.

This is the best food I have ever had and Im a semi truck driver Ive been through Texas and all across the west and east coast and I havent had food as good as this when I say the food here is amazing it is.ES PERFECTO!
We eat at this restaurant every Sunday and sometimes once or twice during the week. We always take friends with us so we usually have a party of from 8 - 14 or so. Everyone we have taken there loves the food and the people who work there are out standing!!!! We love it and will continue to eat there. Food is great!
We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here last weekend. They have a large room for big parties, so they easily accommodated 25ish people. Our waitress was very good considering how many people she was taking care of. The salsa is very good, and my grilled chicken quesadilla was great. I dont think I heard a single complaint from anyone in my party. Great place to eat!
I have been going to El Centinela for many years and have never had an issue. I love the food, the employees, and the atmosphere. However, my experience today was not a good one. A little into eating our cheese dip, we found a beard hair in it so we asked for another one which the server gave to us. When we went to pay our check, he charged us twice for the cheese dip. When we mentioned it to him, he was relentless and told us we would have to pay for the queso that had a beard hair in it and continued to argue with us about it while being rude. To top it off, there were other employees peeking around the corner laughing at us. I’m giving two stars as this was my first and only bad experience here but the treatment was enough to make me decide there are other Mexican restaurants I’d rather eat at.
Waiters just stare at you takes forever to be seated then were brought menus and sat there for at least 20min with no one coming to take our drink order. Not going back

Prices are reasonable for the area. Food is good. They tend to burn the steak. Its always cut up into tiny bits and WAY over cooked. But the flavor is good.
Had a great meal.... Food was great and service was just as good... I took 2 of my nieces and everyone ordered something different..we had nachos, tacos and quesadillas... One niece ordered a margarita and said it was a little on the weak side.... The restaurant is a lot larger than it looks from the outside. We went on Friday night and it was a little on the busy side... But we still receive prompt service... I live out of state but I will return.
Very nice mix of dishes that go way beyond TexMex. Nice seafood dishes. Enjoyed the California Burrito and the meef and cactus dish. Very nicely tasty. Good service. Clean. Decently lit. Will definitely go again.
Its a very popular place, the food was good, nice, clean. I would recommend it to a friend but Its not one of those unforgettable places. Its Mexican/American with comfortable booths and the usual menu .parking is awful so heads up if youre fussy about parking dings ride dont drive. I felt it a little pricey even though I didnt pay if that tells you anything.
Good food. I have carried out food more then 8-10 times, sometimes in the veggie nachos the quantity for beans is more & less chips & vice versa. Also Im allergic to onions & garlic & they always mess up with my order. But my friends & family like their taste of food, irrespective of their messing up story!
Our food has been wrong the last 2 times we went here but we like the atmosphere and its really close to home so we kept going and just ate whatever they brought us. Tonight our to go order was wrong and we asked them to correct it and were accused of ordering it wrong. I asked to speak with a manager which is something I never do and was told he was not there...at 6pm.....on a Friday. We left the restaurant with the wrong food and no refund at all and I called immediately and the manager picked up the phone. He was too coward to talk to me in person and rectify the situation and wouldnt do anything over the phone either. There are better Mexican restaurants with more integrity than this. Do yourself a favor and dont go here. Eventually youll have the worst experience ever.
Caucasian ppl dont be fooled!! This is not good Mexican food. I payed over $10 for 3 tacos. My tortilla were half way cooked, i didnt get no limes, i didnt get no salsa, and my beans tasted like they were about to go bad but were still safe to eat. I wouldnt order here again.
Are here while visiting family. Great service, huge portions and the most amazing cheese steak tacos I have ever had! Will definitely eat here again when visiting the area.

The chips are delicious and not greasy. The guac is fresh and the Pollo Centinella was delicious. The service is very good.

Go to Mexican in the Braselton area. Just follow all the satisfied clients who return day after day for the amazing food and great service. My grandson is there every Wednesday rain or shine. Yall will love this. The house margaritas have a generous pour such that you dont need to upgrade to something more expensive. Enjoy!

I travel in my business and love checking out Mexican food restaurants where ever I stop. This is just your run of the mill Mexican joint. Food was bland, service was OK, considering how busy they were. Its waaay overpriced. I dont mind spending a few more dollars for something unique and/or authentic, but this place is neither. Overall, it was just average.

I’m from NJ/NY, so my palate is spoiled. But I found myself at this restaurant and boy was the food amazing! I ordered 2 Texas margaritas, they were really good and strong so you get a bang for your buck. I ordered the plate of 3 al pastor tacos with rice and beans. I’ve had really good al pastor tacos up north and was kinda nervous to see how these would turn out. But to my surprise, they were the best al pastor tacos I’ve ever had! The tortillas were hot and fresh. The meat was so juicy and flavorful and the I never ate pineapple with them but I tried it and they were so good! they had the right amount of cilantro and onion on top and I added salsa verde with it and it was delicious, I couldn’t stop telling my bf how good they were 😂 I’ll definitely be stopping here again when I have time. I’m so glad I ate here. Well worth it. I spent $24.50 for my plate and 2 margaritas not including tip. Well worth the money and the service was pretty good, just wish they were a tad more attentive but nevertheless it was amazing. Definitely try this place out, you won’t regret it.
No bueno! Chips and shells were stale and chewy. Ground Beef was flavorless and weird texture. Salsa was ok just not my preference, it was more sweet no heat/spice. Cheese dip was good but thats about it.

Well.. i called in an order at 7:19 and was told 10-15 mins on my order... well i wait the 15 mins and leave the house, i am maybe 5 minutes away, i get there and my food is not ready. I sit and wait for 20 more minutes. I did not get my food until 8. The sad thing is that i only ordered one half order of nachos.. thats it. This is definitely not the first time it has happened. But i will be finding another close mexican restaurant.
Extremely slow service and not at all in a hurry to help you. I was forgotten at the bar with one to go order. Took 30 minutes for anyone to check on me and I still haven’t gotten my one burrito. Gonna go ahead and walk out of this place since no one seems to care how long my order is taking.

Excellent Mexican food! The carne asada tacos, Papas Fritas, and salsa is the bomb!
Food was good. Customer service could be better. Not sure if A.C. was broken but it felt extremely hot inside despite it being 8 P.M.
Best Mexican food for 20 miles. Not Tex Mex. Just good old Mexican food served quickly. Crowded on Wednesday nights.

2022-06-25One of the best places to go for Mexican food. My mom (who is Mexican) doesn’t like to go out for Mexican food, but she will drive 30 min to go here. The food is good and fresh, and the service is always fantastic. They treat you like a friend or family member.

2022-06-07Pretty satisfied I ordered the choripollo was pretty good not very salty like other places agua de Jamaica was ok but felt taste of Cloró in it because of ice the server was ok they are a little off the way when it comes to pay attention to guest you tell them something and 15 minutes later they will bring whatever you asked for food was good service ok can’t give it 4 or 5 just because I don’t think they deserve it yet, May come back and see if it changes 100% recommended if you feel like trying it for first time.

2021-10-05WOW JUST WOW! What can I say but great things about my experience today at El Centinela Mexican Restaurant in Geogia. I found this place while on my way to visit a friend. As I entered I was immediately welcomed by a nice young lady behind the counter,as I was looking through the menu I was directed by the young lady to look at the new item page towards the back of the menu. The menu itself is very nice and well made. I ordered the Burrito Mariachi Especiall .The picture does not do it justice at all! When it was brought to my table I was definitely excited to get started. The burrito was huge and was perfectly toasted on the outside. I of course altered the original recipe my asking to add fries and chopped roasted jalapeno inside. I ordered it with beef Instead of chicken. They were generous with the beef and it was very moist and flavorful! I was scared that I might be shorted some beef but this place definitely isnt shy with portion size. I also ordered some homemade hot sauce that was also awesome! Not too spicy and had a hint of garlic which made my taste buds very happy. I ordered a large Horchata drink and wow this glass was huge! The Horchata wasnt too sweet like some Ive tried in the past that was way too sweet. this was just right! I forgot to mention that they start you off with a nice size bowl of chips and salsa. The restaurant was very clean and neat. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for Mexican cuisine. I wish I can give 20 out of 10. Thank you guys for making my visit and experience a memorable one!

2020-11-09I would give this location 5 stars but I cant really say much that would be good for the waiter we had. The food was excellent and abundant. Once we sat down and gave our order we were not checked on again even when he was sweeping right next to us. We had to ask another waiter to get ours so that we could get to go boxes and the check.Again I cant say enough good things about the food. It was enough for 2 meals and was very reasonable priced. It wasnt crowded when we went so that couldnt be the reason for the lack of attention the waiter gave us. We will give them another try and I will update this review when we do go again.

2022-01-30We’ve visited this place before. The food is always fine but the service is just ok. Well today, the service sucked. The young lady waiting on us was not super attentive and I chalked it up to being during their lunch rush. My drink had been empty for a while. Another server was walking by and I asked him if he’d mind getting me some more drink or my server when he had a moment (or I would have). He stopped when I said excuse me and walked away as soon as I asked if he could do something. So incredibly rude. The poorest level of customer service possible. I will NEVER revisit this location again. I’ve had better customer service from the DMV. Never again.
