I haven’t dealt with a worse manager in all of Bartow county. 2 delivery attempts and 2hrs later they still didn’t get out food right. This is not on the delivery lady, she was great. She felt bad. Then she told us the manager was even rude to her for returning to get “some” of out missing order. When calling in to ask about the meal we where told this was our problem since we couldn’t leave our party & guest to go across town to pick stuff up....As a regular customer, almost weekly..... until that manger isn’t there, our group of 10 will not be returning.Use cation when ordering to go and delivery’s from ED.
Purchased through dinner delivered, they confirmed my order to the driver and sent 1/3 of the actual order. Refused to remake the order they messed up. Finally got in touch with a manager and they refused to send the remainder of my order that I paid for out to me. Was told to come and get it because it wasn’t their problem. I’ve ordered from them at least 2x a month for the last year and this takes the cake. Not sure what’s going on but I recommend fixing it or you’re going to lose a lot of business.
As a family of 5, we love el dorado and their family atmosphere. It is always super fast and the staff is always friendly. They treat the kids like family here, and as parents, we love that. The food is fantastic and our fur baby is welcome on the patio. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Cartersville.8 yr old daughter: “El dorado is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to”7 yr old son: “I love their fried ice cream”5 yr old son: “THE CHIPS ARE MY FAVORITE!”
Excellent food, but be wary of pickup orders, the bags they use are cheap cheap cheap and cannot hold the food and theyre happy to let you know it made it out the front door, sorry about the cheap bags, enjoy your food. Their favorite response is ok, what you want me to do about it?
Excellent restaurant and overall food and service as well as good size portions.. but their chips and queso just suck lol! Queso was more milk than cheese, very watery. We all had a good time and waitress was very helpul and thoughtful! Hope they thicken their queso and change their chips to thicker ones too! Overall I’d certainly recommend and would definitely go again!
Being from Southern California and growing up with authentic Mexican food due to living so close to the border, you miss it when you move ! This place gave me back great Mexican food!!! In the south they like cheese dip and ground beef, while this restaurant still had this it offered more authentic food as well. They have everything from tamales to tacos! What an amazing experience with amazing food. Haven’t had anything on the menu that we didn’t like. Will continue to go there and update this accordingly!Edit: went today and had the mixed pupusa, plantains and fish tacos! They have the best rice as well!
Excellent Salvadoran and MexicanTry the Chicken Tinga great flavor and you can’t get this at most TexMex restaurantsThe other Salvadoran dishes are very good as well. Well worth a try. I was told about this restaurant from a server at one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in Cartersville. It’s where she likes to go. Great recommendation
Excellent food and excellent service. They usually spray and wipe a highchair for us without even asking. Very quick fills of homemade, wonderful chips and salsa. Wonderfully spiced entrees always a little different than the Tex Mex norm and really delicious. Try the Garlic Parmesan Chicken or any of the Salvadorian steaks. My favorite in town!
This place was our desert oasis after one of the craziest and most difficult days that two out of state ranchers can experience. Our waiter is related to the owner and probably the best service I have experienced in years. The food is superb, let them tell you what you want! Highly recommend and we will return in the future. Worth more than 5 stars, and so worth the deviation from the norm.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal with a smiling friendly server. My burrito was one of the best I’ve had and my wife enjoyed her enchiladas. Then I realized I had left my phone there and was halfway to Florida before I realized it. The manager/owner,Able, offered to take my phone to the local ups store….service above and beyond.WOW!!!! Thank you !!!!
I’ve had some good meals and margaritas here but, I’m not sure the manager on Tuesday understands who pays the light bill. The last time we went to this restaurant we ordered a pitcher of margaritas. By the time we got halfway through the picture there was so much ice in the picture that it watered down and ruined the margaritas. So… We asked for a pitcher of margaritas without ice on it. We told them that we understood that the picture wouldn’t be full as it normally would with all the ice on it. After a good 10 minute wait… The waitress came back and said the manager said that we can’t make margaritas this way (rocks / no rocks) I’m not sure I understand this policy or why this couldn’t be accommodated. The “manager” couldn’t be bothered to come over and explain why. Also, I got the fajitas… They brought me two tortillas. When I asked for additional tortillas… they charged me a dollar for three more tortillas… Really? A dollar for additional FLOUR tortillas when you order a $15 fajita dinner. I think the manager and the owners of this place need to understand their clientele. I’m really not nitpicky… But I understand when I’m being nickeled and dimed.
Luis was our server at the bar. Great service and helpful suggestions for dinner. Steak Baracoba and Garlic Chicken Parmesean was amazing. Homemade tortillas topped it off with a flare. Basics like chips, salsa and rice were unique and wonderful! Will be back for certain!
First time visit. Ordered shrimp tacos. They were excellent. The slaw is a good twist on tacos. What makes this place special is every little thing is good. The chips are light and crispy, the salsa was full of flavor. The rice was the best Ive had. Light, fluffy with a cilantro effect. Not the typical bland yellow rice that is pervasive. Refried beans did not disappoint. They gave me a large portion of chips with three different containers of sauces. One was likely for the tacos, two salsa and one amazing cilantro lime. This is a good restaurant. Maybe the best Ive had.
We have spent a handful of times in Cartersville for baseball (from Atlanta) and had good experiences but have never been here. Grabbed this place after a football game today when our Mexican restaurant in Atl had a 90 minute wait. What a treasure! They were so accommodating to our large crowd. The owner and family could not have been more gracious. Not only incredible service but WOW the food is insane good and an extensive menu that is delicious. Fresh Margs are amazing! We will drive back from Atlanta to go here!!
We were craving pupusas so we drive here from another town. We definitely did not regret it! We ordered platanos, pupusas, and the dorado special and everything was delicious! I was a little disappointed because they only had pupusas with pork and I can’t eat pork but the manager came and made me one with just cheese! Very impressed with all of the food and the service. The chips and salsa, margarita and agua fresca were very good too. Even though it’s a bit of a drive from us we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Excellent place with authentic food and great service. Even the simple things like rice are outstanding. If youre looking for run of the mill Mexican food, you may be disappointed, but if youre looking for authentic high quality food with great service, you need to try this place.
We really try to support local restaurants but today had lunch here. Their menu advertised Margarita Monday, margaritas are $3.99. We ordered two but the bill charged us $7 each. Waitress said that special was no longer BUT it was on their menu!! I said thats illegal to advertise something and then not honor it. The waitress just said, Thats right, so sorry then walked away. No matter, the tip we WOULD have given the waitress was more than the price of the margaritas. We wont be back, EVER.
I went here for the 1st time this past Saturday with some family and I can say that I will definitely be back. The customer service was incredible. The food quality was top notch. And the portions were fit for a king. They have this avacado cream dip they bring out with the salsa too and wooooweeee is it good. Highly recommend
This is one of the best restaurants in Cartersville. The quality of food is top notch and I have never had a complaint after visiting dozens of times. After trying many things on the menu I decided to give the wings a shot tonight. They tasted amazing and were the biggest wings I have ever been served at a restaurant before. Wasnt expecting to be blown away by them considering this isnt their niche, but El Dorado knocked it out of the park once again. On top of the excellent food, the service has always been quick, friendly and professional.
This is my first time here. I’m in Cartersville GA for business. I didn’t want to go to place with a lot of patrons. I picked this place when I googled it, it looked small cozy place and food looked very real. Glad I came. It’s in a small strip mall, shopping plaza, not clouded , it’s Monday 6:00pm , not really fancy. I ordered their tacos, shredded beef, shrimp, chicken on corn tortillas. You don’t want to miss them if you are in Cartersville GA. They were great. I only gave 4 Stars because this is my first time. But I will recommend to anyone who knows good tacos. I’ll come back again if I’m in town to try other dishes.
The true test of a restaurant is how well the service performs when it is completely packed. Well as packed as covid-19 restrictions allow. The staff at El Salvadorian did a great job. The meals for my family came out quickly and correct. The waiters were attentive and did not forget about us. Great looking forward to the next visit.
Great atmosphere, very comfortable place. Ive been going here for about 2 years now and have never had bad service or bad food. The food is fresh and very flavorful, I would recommend this place to everyone. You are missing out on amazing food and a wonderful dining experience., you need to go asap.
If I could give this place a zero. I would. I had the rudest waitress ever, barely came to check up on us. Now the most disgusting part was that on the side of my dish you can tell it was not washed correctly. I never felt so disgusted. It was dirty all on the side and all underneath the bottom of the plate. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Super yummy Salvadoran food! I really wanted to try out their pupusas but sadly they had ran out when I went. I ordered via telephone and my order was done on time and everything was correct! Highly recommended if you want to try something new but slightly similar to local Mexican food.
Loved the good and service. The tables with advertisements is were I found a great mechanic. I took a shot and love the work he does. THANK YOU SO MUCH EL DORADO SALVADORAN. Great FOOD and love the green stuff since I cant have tomatoes the green dip is DELICIOUS. I WILL BE BACK.
Do not waist your time here. Togo ordered the El Dorado supreme with cheese sauce. Steak was devoid of flavor and the onions and peppers tasted like they were microwaved not grilled. Water is thicker than their cheese sauce and more flavorful. The salsa was a joke, and the enchilada sauce was especially ketchup. Im glad I had some taco bell sauce packets to spice this cafeteria food up with. I picked my order up at 11:59 am and there were just two tables seating, however their waitstaff could not even take the time to go over my order or wait for me to return my signed receipt, but I just guess Cdavis did not want to wait for me to hand him a tip. Just stick to the frozen food aisle.
We found this little place on google maps. They no longer serve pupusas, but man this was a fantastic dinner and friendly staff. We had a couple of El Dorado specials, Pollo A La Plancha, and an El Dorado Burrito Supreme. Able, the owner, struck up a conversation with my ten year old son when my son vocalized his enjoyment of the food. Able brought us a complimentary order of Churros and made our night. Our waitress was attentive and friendly making our family evening after visiting Tellus Science Museum, quite special.
Very quaint family owned restaurant. Staff was very friendly. Food was excellent. Authentic tacos are very flavorful, the guacamole was amazing (I have it anywhere I go that serves guacamole) the rice had a wonderful flavor with the Salvadorian twist. The chips are light and flaky but not to think, the salsa has just the right kick, not hot but not mild. We will definitely be making this a regular place.
Awful experience. With an event party of 13 , only 3 people got to order food and left to go eat else where after the event. Had to ask over and over for chips and salsa and still didnt get it. Didnt ask of we wanted more drinks. And after the event was over we were talked to very rude and cussed at and told to take our business elsewhere. What little food we got was great, the waitresses were good but very poor management. Will not be back.
We stopped to eat here while traveling. The reviews were favorable so we gave it go. I’m so glad we did. The tacos were so fresh and full of flavor. That, combined with friendly service, made our visit worth the trip off the interstate. We left with a container of the house-made sauce. 😊
We tried El Dorado last month and loved it. We both had the El Dorado special with Chicken, Steak, and Shrimp over rice with cheese sauce. Many Mexican restaurants serve a similar dish, but this was the best Ive had. They have the light crispy chips we favor, and the salsa is better than any Ive ever had. The servers are really nice and helpful, and the manager spoke to us a while and made us feel very welcome. We went back last night and had another great meal. They are in a small space now, and they will need to move to a larger one when other locals in Cartersvile find out what excellent food they serve. Our new favorite!
It was a nice find. The Salvadorian flavors were a unique twist on traditional Mexican dishes. Their salsa is amazingly addictive, I couldnt stop eating it. While I didnt try them, their wings looked amazing and are something I would try if I ever am in the area again and go back. The time to get the food to the table after ordering was pretty long and is why I am rating this 3 instead of 4 stars.
We’ve eaten here twice before and had great food and service, but tonight we sat without a drink for over 20 minutes and a group that were seated a few tables down were given drinks and ordering food within a few minutes of being seated! We couldn’t even get someone to ask about it so we just left. Never again!
We stumbled across this restaurant on a shopping trip from Rome, but the food was so good it will be worth a trip back just to eat here. The food was fresh, expertly cooked, and perfectly seasoned. The waiter explained that they only use high quality spice instead of buying in bulk like so many restaurants do. We could tell the difference. We like the Salvadorian style of cooking which is not as highly spiced and hot as the typical Mexican food served in GA, the flavors are more subtle. A great place for a good meal!
This is the most decent restaurant in the area specially if you visit the Tellus museum. If you dont want to the cafeteria food at the museum this is a great alternative. The food is really delicious and authentic. The service is quick and accommodating. We really enjoyed our time here.
This family owned business is a favorite of ours. The owner was there to welcome us as we arrived. The menu features several traditional Salvadoran entrees along with Mexican food. Tonight we enjoyed a delicious meal of tacos since it was Taco Tuesday. We tried both hard and soft tortillas and found the seasonings amazing and the fillings generous. Try the Salvadoran rice when you go.... Its amazing and tastes like homemade chicken soup.
Best Mexican I have found in Cartersville. They bring chips and salsa with cheese dip to your table. They also have a green dip that is delicious. Their chips are light and crispy. Their meat is flavorful, not Bland like a lot of Mexican restaurants. Overall a delicious place to eat.
We do Taco Tuesday here every week! The food is outstanding and the staff are super sweet. If you are unsure about the authentic dishes (which are fantastic BTW) they have all other Mexican dishes available too. Havent visited another Mexican Restaurant in town since El Dorado opened!
Soo... i didnt post a review the first time I came about a week ago, but today Im going to. I have heard such good things about this place and I have no idea what all the rave is about!?! Today was the second time they are out of Pupusas, what a bummer... As a Salvadorian restaurant this should be readily available for your customers. If you cant have it available, TAKE IT OFF YOUR MENU! Then they gave me the excuse that they are limiting the amount of ppl in the kitchen... ha! U sure didnt limit the amount of ppl dining in your restaurant. No social distancing, at all! Salsa was good and the chicken tinga was also good, just not sure I will be back anytime soon.
First time trying this place out and it did not disappoint! Its in a strip mall but dont let that discourage you. The kids got their usual (nachos and tacos) but the hubs opted for the Salvadorian entree (Bistec Encebollado) and I ordered the Steak Ranchero. Soooo good. The chips and salsa were delicious and the service was perfect! Looking forward to getting back again.
I just visited here for the first time today. It was absolutely delicious. I also talked to the owner. He was really nice. Great customer service and very open to advice (not that they needed much.) I will definitely be going back and recommending it to all my friends! Wonderful experience!
Easily one of the best restaurants in Cartersville. I have never eaten anything less than amazing here. The pupusas are giant, filling, and the most delicious thing I have ever tasted - it doesnt matter which filling you go with, they are all wonderful. The pollo borracho is also amazing. You really cant go wrong with anything on the menu though!
I am very impressed! The owner is very nice and did a great job explaining any of the dishes that I was not familiar with. All the staff was more than nice and made us feel at home there.I should have taken pictures, but definitely will next time... we plan on eating there a lot.The chips and cheese dip keep our 3 and 5 year olds happy, and the Salvadoran Cuisine gives us a delightful change weve been craving, but unable to get at other Mexican Restaurants. It was our first time, and would describe it as a very delicious mexican-like; yet unique spin on what I would be accustomed to with traditional Mexican dishes. The restaurant was packed, but we didnt have to wait for a seat.I highly suggest a trip to El Dorados. Youll make it a go to restaurant just as we are.
WOW. I live in rockmart and we get nothing like this here, food or drink wise. The quality is amazing. Had grilled steak Sopas and a FRESH margarita (which means it’s made with lime juice like it’s supposed to be instead of some high calorie super sweet mix out of a bottle). Wait staff was amazing. House made sauce amazing. I’ll be driving 35 plus minutes here each way from now on. Accidentally stumbled upon it with a quick google search of “authentic mexican food near me”.
By far the best Central American food I have had in many years. The owners are very nice folks. Its their first year, I am to understand. We had good, prompt service. The Brocheta for Two was enormous. The skirt steak and shrimp were very good. Portions were more than generous. The papusa was also quite good! The salsa is the best I have had in a lifetime of eating latin american food.Muy Rica!
This place is the best place to get authentic mexican and el Salvadorian food!! Me and my gf come here all the time. Staffing is the best and the margaritas are on POINT! Not to mention the food is the absolute best. I recommend the milanese burrito or authentic tacos with the handmade tortillas that are out of this world.
El Dorado is a MUST!This place is authentic and has a wide range of food to choose from. Had the grilled shrimp tacos with refried beans and it was to die for. Please if you haven’t tried Salvadorean food this is the place to go to. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Please try it out and leave your thoughts and reviews.
Amazing authentic South American food. Mostly. El Salvadorian but a good mix of Mexican food thrown in. The refried beans and the rice are so good. They have a burrito that is 2 lbs and the sopes were wonderful. My whole family truly loved their meals. Definitely will be going back.
Best Mexican Restaurant between Kennesaw and Cartersville, absolutely worth the trip. I recommend the Papoosa (spelling?), and the Texas Fajitas! Abel the owner, is surprisingly young, but very cool and has great customer service! I recommend sitting with Luis at the bar watching a braves game, and trying something they recommend that you havent heard of...
Growing up with a Mexican step family its always been hard for me to eat at so called Mexican restaurants. I am a truck driver and have been to many of these so called Mexican restaurants this is the first I have found that actually makes maseca corn tortillas and really is authentic food . This is some of the best food Ive ever had
This is some of the best beef Ive ever had at a (and forgive me for not knowing a better term, but take my quotation marks as proof that I know its a misnomer!) Mexican style restaurant. So, let me leave meat aside for a moment: first you need to try the pupusas. Ive had arepas, and theyre good, but in my estimation these are better! If you do pork, I especially recommend the chicarrones pupusa. For main dish, Ive only had various beef dishes, and theyve all been wonderful. They have the stereotypical lunch menu, but check their specials because its worth your time and money!
First time trying it out. Poor service when we were only the second table in the whole place. It seemed like the lights were off. It was so dark it was like the only light was from the front windows. We tryed the Valentine alcoholic drink they had at the time, nasty and all sugar and coconut syrup with a touch of cough syrup cherry flavoring. The the fajitas were ok but when i eat at a hispanic place i expect a form of hispanic rices, NOT CHINESE FRIED RICE WITH PEAS AND CARROTS IN IT.... This place really dont know what theyre doing.
My wife and I ate there 1/12/18. We both had grilled shrimp tacos served in a soft taco with chipotle mayonnaise. Excellent. I substituted salad for rice and beans at no additional charge and we shared the salad (diced tomatoes, lettuce, chilled queso blanco) for taco topping. My wife had the beans and rice and enjoyed both, commenting on how much more flavor they had than the traditional Mexican restaurant variety. She also had a Texas margarita which she noted had more alcohol than the restaurant norm. Portions were above average in size and fresh. Our server was Yaya who was both attentive and personable. Pricing is a value, portion-size and quality considered. Looking forward to trying the traditional Salvadoran dishes they offer on our next visit which will be soon.
Living in Cartersville for over 15 years has given me the opportunity to try a variety of Mexican restaurants around the area. El Dorado however has by far been the one that stood out the most. Since their opening day I have been coming here and trying their authentic Salvadoran dishes & I have been more than pleased with each one of them. Their customer service is also top of the line. Instead of recommending the most expensive dish they recommend you dishes that will please your tastebuds. If youre in the mood for something thatll blast your tastebuds to another world, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a shot!
This is our favorite place to eat! Everything is delicious and the quality is always the same! They have the best salsa you will ever get at a restaurant. Their grilled steak and chicken is so flavorful and I wish I knew what their marinade/seasoning is. Their shredded chicken has actual flavor and wont bore you. The salvadorian rice is waaaaay better than the usual Mexican rice. I LOVE their refried beans. They have the usual stuff you see in Mexican restaurants but the traditional dishes are a nice switch up. Try the papusas! Or get a sample platter to experience a litte of everything! The only thing that is meh to me is the ground beef, but I still get it occasionally on tacos. Try the shrimp tacos, too! My boyfriends favorite.
First time getting food here and it was amazing!! I did a pick up order. I bought the Lomo saltado, el dorado supreme burrito. Very, very good and flavorful. The horchata was not that good. It was very gritty and too sweet. I will definitely be getting more food in the future!
The food is delicious and authentic. The prices are very reasonable. You can get traditional Mexican food but you can get that anywhere. Definitely try the El Salvadorian/Peruvian menu items. We especially love the Pupusas, which like the tortillas, just melt in your mouth. They taste like they were just made by someones grandmother. My 13 year-old just loves the lomo saltado, which is this delicious grilled skirt steak with vegetables in a tasty sauce with a side of perfect white rice. Oh, and did I mention theres french fries sticking out of it!

2022-05-12Service was quick and efficient, also the food was pretty good, starting with the chips and salsa they give you the moment you sit down.I ordered the Sopes, which had two very big ones, with shredded chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and sour cream, although it had too much salt for my taste.I would definitely come back to taste some other dish.

2022-04-02This is without a doubt one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. Every single dish I have had was excellent and spiced wonderfully. Any of the servers we have had were very diligent and attentive. It is definitely a weekly visit for us. I do not lightly leave such high reviews, and this place deserves it.

2022-05-19Do not visit this place....Would have given zero stars if able. The Yelp page says to check in and get a free cheese dip. When I asked about it, the lady said it was from last November. Well take it off the Yelp page and it has no expiration date. She said she would ask her boss. She came back and went to her station at the door. I said what did you find out? She said they are coming. Ok. So then the waitress comes out and I ask her about it. No thats an old thing. Well I want to see the manager. The manager comes out and immediately says he wants no attitude and the offer is old. Take it off the Yelp app. He gets all bent out of shape. I leave. Will not be back!!!!!!

2022-06-28The owner took the time to chat while I waited for my order. Very nice gentleman. The food here has always been outstanding and tonight was no different. We tried some new items and everything was delicious! We are so glad El Dorado made it through the shutdowns. The pupusas are a number one menu choice every time.

2021-07-02Not sure I can go eat regular old Mexican food after eating here! This place is fabulous! Try the appetizer called sweet chili pepper broccoli, dipped in an egg batter (like pablanos) then grilled in the sauce, marvelous! Picture is of my huge mango & habernero grilled chicken breast topped with grilled jalapenos, fresh pico, and sliced avocado with a side of grilled veg! Doesnt get any better than this my friends! Great service, and excellent salsa. Go, go now!

2022-04-11Amazing place! The fried broccoli appetizer is so delicious, I had to get one to go home with. The Hawaiiana quesadilla was very good. For drinks I had the flight of margaritas and they were good also. Cant wait to go back!

2022-05-25Service was impeccable. I had best tacos ever since they mixed the 3 protiens together which gave it an incredible flavor. Would highly recommend and ask for recommendations as I did. Enjoy!

2022-05-10The wait staff was incredible. Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants around when it comes to wait staff. Wasnt a huge fan of the menu options though. What I ordered wasnt bad but wasnt what I really wanted either.
