I had surgery on my cervical spine on 7/15/22 due to a crumbled disc. My surgeon was Dr. Gerrard. He was absolutely amazing from my first visit through to the surgery and during my aftercare. I highly recommend Emory John’s Creek and Dr. Gerrard if you need spine surgery - he’s most definitely the surgeon you want, he knows his stuff!.. The entire care team - from the intake nurses, the people who assisted Dr. Gerrard during my surgery, the recovery room nurses, and the nurses on the ward I stayed on were all absolutely amazing. They took such good care of me. I’ve never received better care anywhere. The scar I have from my surgery is very minimal and will become even less visible over time.
Emory at JCH is a very special place. The people who work there go out of their wayto make sure your experience is positive. I have had employees walk me to my destination to ensure that I arrive exactly where I need to be. Everyone in the Breast Imaging Center are just awesome including the front desk. Shauna & Melissa in imagingexplain the procedures so that u understand, they are kind & helpful.Thank you Dr Pirana for showing somuch empathy. Your bedside manner is a model for others & I am grateful for our encounter. In 6 years I have not had a bad experience &feel that everyone at Emory always puts their best foot forward. Thank you to theentire staff at Emory Johns Creek.
We have been here twice due to my son becoming status epilepticus. Due to Covid protocols, they are not allowing a family member in. But because my son is a non-verbal autistic, they let me stay with him. They have been polite and attentive. I didnt experience anything that others who have complained here have said. While we were there, I overheard some crazy patients yelling and some Karens. So I would reconsider before believing some of the negative reviews here. An ER is a stressful place to be in for both patients and healthcare workers. People just need to be kind and understanding to each other.
This is my second visit to Emory Johns Creek hospital in the past year. My first was an August to have a baby and I was there yesterday to have my gallbladder removed. The nurses and doctors are truly so sweet here and I had such a good experience both times. I was in room CDU 7 yesterday before my surgery and it was so nice and big and had good vibes. My nurse Evette was so kind and was a really good nurse. I automatically always think to go to Northside for some reason but I would definitely choose Emory Johns Creek instead.*** edit: I had a followup with Dr. Kahn who preformed my surgery today and it was the worst experience of my entire life with a doctor. If that followup was all I had to review I would give Emory zero stars. They need to cancel his contract with him, just awful. My husband and I submitted a formal complaint with Emory today.
Lesley at the front desk needs to be fired..This lady had several people not wearing clothes, let alone masks hanging out in the waiting room, and had the audacity to kick out a sweet Asian woman and her 2 kids who had her husband in the exam room because her son was under 18?!? There were definitely children under 13 in there, none of whom were wearing and PPE. DO BETTER LESLEY
I would recommend this hospital to anyone. It is a beautiful hospital very clean very nice staff the nurses are always very pleasant and have always had good experiences with any surgeries or just overnight stays or even a quick emergency hospital room visit. Have nothing but good things to say
I have to give this place one star because of the last experience I had. Unfortunately Dr. (I use this title very loosely) Qasim Kazmi and his nurse Nicholas will be the reason why. How they treated me, no one should have to go through that experience. I will be looking to contact his supervisor and hospital director so they can have the full account of what happened. The experience was so bad, he did not want to provide his credentials (name, department, etc.) When I was discharged, I was literally told I could not have his name or any paperwork hoping what they did while I was there. Ultimately, the front desk clerk who was very kind had to do a lot of research because they would not tell her who my doctor was. She assisted and after 20 minutes, I was finally able to get the full name of my doctor and the paperwork of what test and drugs had taken place while I was there. While in the back, they wouldnt allow my wife back to see me. It had nothing to do with Covid; she had been back to see me a few days before on a similar visit when I was misdiagnosed. they didnt want anyone to see how they were treating me. I really wish the full story could fit here however it cant.Stay away from this person IF you have to visit: Qasim KazmiI will not let this go. What he did was disgusting and he should be reprimanded.
The nurse Barbara, Gary and other team staff are awesome! And Dr. Qureshi is also very nice.We came here for my husband Cardio- Catheterization. All staff were working proactively with nice warm attitude. We felt like we are in the hospitality area not the hospital.KEEP DOING WELL, Emory at Johns creek cardiology team!
My wife had an appointment here for over a month as she needs an MRI (backstory she has fibroids). When making an appointment, you have to wait two weeks for your insurance to go through before a doctor can see you. So, that pushed her appointment out because they were packed. So she had to wait a month plus. She called up there after the two-week mark to ensure that the insurance went through. They told her over the phone; that everything was good and she was set for her appointment date at 10 am. They asked her to come in at 9:30 am to fill out paperwork. The day comes, and she gets there at 9:32 am to fill out the paperwork. After filling it out and sitting 30 mins to see the doctor, they called her up only to tell her that they never got her insurance information. What???... She then explained to the lady that she had called and told her everything was approved. The lady then tells her we dont have your insurance, and there is nothing that she can do about it since now that it is after 10 am, she is considered late. Blaming my wife for being late, she will have to wait another two weeks for her insurance to be accepted, plus wait for them to have another opening. I have 0 respect for them, making it my wifes problem that they were late. If her insurance is overall valid and she has had this appointment, why cant they wait the two weeks to get it covered? I would not recommend anyone to come here. They are very unprofessional, and making a patient already in need feel like they are the reason they cant be seen is not the way it should have been handled.
5 STARS: Hospital medical staff was very good (I dont think it can get any better anywhere around the world. They should all get a 5 STAR). They had taken care of mother and baby extremely well. The only big issue was initiating the Birth certificate through the hospital.1 STAR (or lesser): The clerical staff was careless enough to fat finger the baby name so much that I have to now run pillar to post to fix it every where. Unfortunately they dont own fixing the mess they create. Make sure you cross check multiple times to get the name and other details on Birth certificate and SSN are correct before they send out to vital records . This 1 Star rating is specifically for making a mess of the name and giving me all the trouble to fix paper work while i am supposed to focus on mother and baby.
Recently I was there for an a outpatient surgery. It was three nurses that was absolutely amazing and one not so amazing. Stephanie my nurse and I believe , Ciara was a surgery Assitant. These ladies cared for me as if I was a relative and I felt safe. I experienced extreme nausea and they were so patient. Everyone isn’t great in this position, but Stephaine and Ciara are extraordinary!! Dr Yugueros please please keep these ladies on your team!! Having an excellent surgeon and support staff made this experience so pleasant. Let me not forgot Ms Susan who was also amazing. I had another nurse however she was not so great. And my other nurses recognized it and took up where she slacked and pulled off an awesome visit for me!!! Thank you Stephanie, Ciara and Susan. And my phenomenal surgeon Dr Yugueros!
Good. But why 3 star ?? Because entry desk black staffs need to education more ! 1. Asked but he said go to another desk !! Hahah kidding me ?? OMG…2. I said can I help ? Her said one moment . So i just waiting but she ignored just keep doing somethingCrazy…So if changed to improvement in response then this hospital is perfect
Wait time extremely horrible. After 3 hrs and no update to when I would be seen. I get a text saying wait time 1-2hr. The text said that once I arrived. I had an IV less than 20 minutes upon arrival and my urine specimen that I was told to keep with me until I was called back. I had the front desk to ask someone to remove the IV and I through my urine specimen in the garbage. Huge waste of time. So disappointed especially coming from a area like Johns Creek. It was up the creek wait time.
June 15, 2017 I was taken to Johns Creek Hospital by ambulance. I was suffering from severe mental illness obsessive compulsive disorder I cried a few days June 13-15, and I didnt know I said this but I said I want to die. The woman the female doctor at Johns Creek said insultingly and in a condescending tone John didnt you say you wanted to die? Instead of trying to talk to me and figure out how to help me. The next day I was pulled while still in my hospital bed and shoved into an ambulance like an animal. I was sent to Peachford Hospital a mental hospital and locked up there June 17-June 23, 2017.Because of Johns Creek Hospital, Peachford Mental Hospital, and many other people in my life I almost died because of them 2017. Johns Creek has seriously ruined my life and your irresponsibility has destroyed my life. I am fully healed and recovered from mental illness but it took me the second half of 2021 and now 2022 to heal. I will never return to Atlanta or live in Atlanta ever again and the trauma from what youve done to me is unacceptable and unforgivable.
I see all the horrible reviews but since I was not a patient I cannot confirm these experiences.I came here to visit a friend over a snowy Jan day.The main entrance is on the opposite side of the emergency entrance. There were signs everywhere about black ice. There were 2 greeters that told me where to go.The hospital was quiet and did a lot of things my friend needed during her stay. The hospital was patient with large number of family visitors. So I really dont have any complaints. There were even comfortable chairs in the hallway. But since I cannot fully testify on the care of this hospital I will only give it 4 stars.
I tried to schedule a CT test. First they took 10 days to respond . In fact they did not respond till I followed up by calling them( call wait times are north of 20 mins). Then they would say that the next available date is 47 days from todays date - which is absolutely ridiculous.
My dad had a long stay at Emory Johns Creek and during his stay, we had a near miss event. My dad was coerced to signing paperwork for a procedure he did not need simply because someone forgot to check his wristband. Turns out they confused my dad for the lady next door. When I pointed this out they acted as if putting a piece of paper on my dads door that said name check would fix it. Truly the most horrifying experience.
Taking care of two elderly parents there are a lot of hospital stays involved. Also, several different hospitals. This by far, has been our best experience. All the complaints listed below dont include anyone dying. I had that happen at Northside with my dad. They take very good care of my mom at Emory who goes there often for various reasons. Some of the nicest aides and nurses and doctors. Theyve always managed to get my mom back on her feet. Even though shes almost 90, they seem to value her life. That is huge
I was recently a patient there in mother baby. From registration all the way until being discharged I had a great experience. ALL the nurses and techs that cared for me and my baby i really appreciate you! Leigh Ann and Ashley really helped to calm my nerves when things got rough. You ladies ROCK and baby and I will appreciate you all FOREVER!!!☺️❤️
Took our 92 dad to the ER for possible GI bleeding. 22 hours later he left on his own due to being in a cold isolation room without a call button available. He had to throw a water bottle at the door to get help to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Being alone he became agitated and extremely anxious. Due to his Covid status, he was not allowed visitors which is understandable but an elderly person may not be able to handle this. If we had known how horrible this experience would be for him, if someone had at least informed us of what to expect, he would never had stayed and all of this would have been avoided. No one bee returned our calls to update us on his status. Everyone is understandably overwhelmed, I get this. But lack of information and inability to work with the providers is unacceptable. Be careful when deciding to leave your elderly family member in the er alone. Make sure you know what to expect and most importantly, make sure it’s a true emergency.
Had both my babies at Emory Oct 2019 and May 2021, the staff were very good both times. Melissa the lactation nurse is my very favorite! The anesthesiologists who did my epidural both times were great and very compassionate and understanding.. Excellent lactation nurse department to make sure your baby nursing relationship is healthy, the rooms are clean and roomy. Staff are clear about the procedures and what to expect.. The baby photographer never came to my room for either delivery though which is disappointing I would have loved that.
I would never recommend their ER. I went in 3 days prior with high blood pressure. (Urgent care sent me there because it was so high). They saw me gave me a shot and signed a work release and gave me absolutely nothing.. Few days later after the dizziness had to go back and was admitted for two days. I feel I was treated like a patient in a third world country.
After a long battle of being undiagnosed and different hospital and specialty visits, I can truly say I am happy that I visited the ER at Emory in Johns Creek, Ga on 1/31/2022. I was very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Aurangzeb Memon, Dr. Jawad Shahid and Dr. Heba Al-Zubaidi. They were very thorough and had the best bed side manners. Because of their knowledge and expertise I was able to have a proper diagnosis and find the appropriate care needed. Thank you so much for all you do!
I had my baby here and it was a mostly pleasant experience. Katie was the best nurse that I had. She was great at easing my nerves and her demeanor was so positive. Room service was also a huge plus. The only issue I had was having to wear a mask while delivering my baby. While I do understand the times that we are in and I do mask up everywhere else, I don’t understand the point of taking a covid test, having it be negative just to have to wear a mask anyway in what is one of the hardest and most intense moments in my life. Besides that, it was an overall great experience and I do recommend having your baby here.
Horrible experience. My sister had a head injury, is mentally challenged and was not seen after 2 hours of waiting. Staff could not tell me when she would be seen. Took arm injury over her head injury when we had been waiting 2 hours and they had just walked in and waited about 15 minutes. I feel staff totally neglected seeing my sister due to her handicap.
I personally wouldn’t deliver here again based on my experience. The rooms are incredible, large and comfortable. Most of the nurses and lactation specialists are incredible. Some seemed like they didn’t know what they were talking about though, for example one told me I didn’t have to burp my baby since she was breastfed. But the main issue for me was that I had an unplanned c section and they didn’t let me hold my baby for an hour and a half after birth. There was no reason. She didn’t need to go to the nicu, she had no health issues. They were asked to hand her to me and would not let me hold her. Additionally upon discharge they pushed to get me out a day earlier than planned and got into an argument with my midwife about it, and pulled me into their drama. The nurse explained she was heading up a patient satisfaction project and part of it was to discharge quickly. I didn’t care whether or not I got out that day but I ended up being stressed and it was just unnecessary.
I’m leaving a review for a specific ER nurse, Kyung J Royal. She was extremely unprofessional, nor knowledgeable and obviously new to the field. Every question I asked, she said “I wouldn’t know that.” Then why am I in an ER if you know nothing? What am I paying for? Someone to “play” doctor? She quickly dismissed my symptoms by saying an ER is for “Life or Death” situations???? Who would say that to a patient seeking help? An inexperienced, inconsiderate person who shouldn’t be a nurse, that’s who! Everyone else was sweet and compassionate. I did, however, notice that Dr. Qasim Kazmi was listed as a provider during my visit. Never got to speak with him. I feel robbed and felt as though this was malpractice.
Called the police on me for attempting to abduct my own child. Had a home birth and came in just to get paperwork and I was told my child had to stay for 24 hours in addition to the fact that they could not provide the birth certificate as he was not born here, attempted to take him out against medical advise and the hospital called the police and threatened social services. The police obviously were not able to prevent me from leaving but the treat of social services was too much and I ended up staying. STAY FAR FROM THIS PLACE
Horrible experience at this hospital since I gave birth in 2018, the nurses were rude and horrible. They barley wanted to help me I only had maybe one good nurse that helped me and didn’t have attitude. Other than that they wouldn’t let me walk or anything. I have been waiting since 2018 to get my medical record for giving birth here and having a bad experience giving birth here. I definitely was not treated right here and I wanted to give birth here originally because I thought they were the best but clearly all they care about is getting paid an that’s it. It’s crazy how I thought I was going to have a great experience here but clearly I would of been better off anywhere else. I was neglected and treated poorly giving birth here and I would never recommend any one to have their baby here even a coworker of mine his wife works at that location and she said she would never have another kid at that location they do not know how to treat you at all! But it October 2021 and I gave birth in 2018 I been waiting for my medical records and nothing yet but I will try again. But yes if you want a honest review I would not give birth here at all and I really thought this was the best of the best this was the worst of the worst!!! Nurses or who ever else helped even people that answer the phones are very very rude.
I myself have not had to be treated at this hospital but my daughter has been treated here twice. First time was 3 years ago and she was taken care of from the time she entered the ER until she was admitted and given a room. She spent 3 days that time and because of her autoimmune disease they were able to set her up with a doctor that specializes in her disease. Then she had an episode during the night Sunday and was sent to the ER again. She was taken care of so well, after they told her that she had to be admitted they were very attentive to her. She had to wait several hours before being taken to a room but that is normal in any ER. I have been to several different ERs over the years and that is the way it is. She was put in a room and the nurses and doctor were great. They called in an infectious disease doctor also and the communication between the doctors was excellent. They even called and talked to her dermatologist about what was going on. The dermatologist is the one that treats her HS disease. Then they called and talked with her primary care doctor. So thankful for that. She was able to order her meals when she wanted them and got to choose what she wanted. My daughter is one that is very independent and understands that she is not their only patient. I was reading other reviews and a lot of the one star reviews were from a year ago when the worst of the pandemic was going on. I cant even imagine what nurses and doctors were having to deal with at that time. The medical facilities were short handed because of Covid so the ones that were working were so overworked. Some of the complaints were legitimate but some I take with a grain of salt. I just know that the two times my daughter has been there, she was treated with respect and taken care of. Im sorry if others have had a bad experience and all I can say is if you have to go to the ER try to understand that the nurses are overworked. If you arent treated well then take it up with the administrators of the hospital.
Please — do NOT go to this hospital in the case of an emergency. I am extremely concerned after my mother’s lack of care, and if this happened to her I fear that it will keep happening. My mother was experiencing severe vertigo and dehydration symptoms earlier this week. I knew I had to get her to the ER, but I was not able to move her so I called the paramedics. They came and gave her care to the best of their abilities. Once they received clearance to take her to Emory JC, I asked if I could come and they said no due to COVID protocols. Keep in mind my mother was incapacitated and could NOT communicate or advocate for herself. When she arrived at the ER, the paramedics placed her on the couch in the waiting room. While she was in the waiting room, she had an accident. No one came to clean her or assist her. When she finally went back into her room, she was a little more awake and told the nurse that she thought she sooled herself and that she needed to be cleaned up. The nurse told her to go to the bathroom to clean herself up, where my mother had to wipe up her whole body with bathroom paper towels.1) WHY would anyone EVER let a patient who is experiencing severe dizziness due to vertigo let them go to the bathroom unassisted?2) Why was my mother not provided basic respect and treated with dignity? Why did no one help her and provide her with clean clothes or toiletries?Once the doctor came in, he informed my mother that it was indeed a vertigo attack that was most likely caused by the medications she had taken (she had taken Mucinex and Sudafed). He also said that she was extremely dehydrated. However… they did NOT provide her water orally or give her fluids through an IV.They did no labs. No medication. No follow up. They left her undignified. This lack of care is what I would expect from a third world country.Again, please do not go here in case of an emergency, ALWAYS have an advocate with you if you need medical care. I will be following up with the director of Emory JC to ensure no patient is ever treated with such disrespect and lack of dignity ever again.
Been in the emergency room area for 4 hours now and seen (maybe) a nurse finally. 3 hours in waiting room. An hour in a room. Finally someone has come in to simply ask why we are here and take a look before leaving the room again. Not sure this room should even qualify as a patient room. No sink. No counter. Theres a TV, but no remote. Cant decide if my favorite is the tall metal door or the fact that the door into the room locks from the outside. I wish negative stars was a thing...Ill bump the stars up a little. Once things started moving along, the care was pretty good. :) took a little over 7 hours in total. Stuck between 2 and 3 stars with all things considered...well just go ahead and round up.
Horrible, unorganized, and they didnt care!Listen I dont like to complain however lets walk through my journey and you can decide for yourself if you want to use Emory Johns Creek for your Healthcare needs.Initially, the receptionist at the emergency front desk was pleasant. My check-in was quick and simple. They even let my son back without a COVID test, just our word....I can dig that. I was then quickly hooked up to EKG, test were ran, and things were going smoothly. I was at ease. Then as the late evening staff left, one of the nurses introduced me as the trouble maker. I think he was trying to be funny and show that we had a rapport. I let it go. At this time we only had curtains that hung between patients. So as he loudly hands me off, all others can hear the issue. Then the nurse practitioner read my results in a low tone which I appreciated and trusted him. He let me know that I will have to stay overnight for an additional test. Ok I was down to stay. Finally!!!! They hand me off to Andrea she was sweet, helpful, and attentive....until she GHOSTED me!!! Yes ghost! She moved me to another room with a bathroom, which btw, I was content with my previous room....anyway, she recommended that I used the restroom first before she hooked me back up. I was like ok good idea. Guys....I went #1, came back, she was gone and never returned. At first I thought she may have stepped away. So I waited. Then I decided to call the nurse line, a rude voice answered. I explained that I was waiting for Andrea. Her response was ok, then click. I was starting to boil. Then 45 minutes passed. I called again, the answer this time was oh were waiting for her to return . Ok, I need to see someone. Another 30 minutes, I see 3 strangers (1 cleaning lady, 2 NP, then 3 a Dr ) all didnt know who I was. No record of why I was there. Nothing. I was so taken back and couldnt believe how I was being treated. I was not the needy patient. I briefly updated each one with who I was along with my concerns, and each time they would send the next stranger. All were ok with discharging me.I called my ride before Stranger 3 aka the Dr entered. He said he will grab my discharge forms. By this time its almost 4am, I had to wake someone to come save me from this nightmare. My ride came before he returned and I left. They had no clue! No call to see if I was ok, nothing! I had to remove my own IV! I will file a formal complaint!
Nurses and Doctors and all staff on floor are amazing and very very hard working and caring and knowledgeable but administration staff especially front desk and customer relations do not belong in any hospital .Also from two day no phones working in patients roomI do not know how they are Magnet hospital
Being an Emory Law graduate, it pains me to leave this negative review about the ER staff at this location. We were welcomed by Gina Valverde at the front desk. She immediately behaved in an extremely unprofessional manner the moment we walked in and before we even exchanged a word. Shaking her head, telling us with unnecessary attitude that she wasnt done with the previous patients, and breathing heavely as if our presence was a burden. Patients in the ER are particularly vulnerable and concerned about the unknown. This kind of individual, with zero compassion and/or bedside manner, should not be allowed to work in such an environment. She does not exemplify the excellence that is associated with the Emory name.
Probably the worst hospital Ive called ever. I asked a simple question about the wait times, and the operator was very rude and disconcerting. I asked if I could get transferred to the front office and she forwarded the call without saying anything. Then comes the front desk lady being rude too, where I asked about the wait times and she laughed. Laughing at someone looking for immediate care is rather bizarre to me, and I shouldve taken down both their names so that they could be reported. Nonetheless, I definitely will be flagging this place as a for sure 1 star, and based on how low the ratings are already I dont think Im overdoing this review. Healthcare in this country is garbage.
Unfortunately, after an outpatient spinal procedure with a Dr. Sumir Patel, I felt that my outcome has left me in significantly worse condition. I am now having to travel across the country for help fixing whatever happened during the procedure. In addition to a poor outcome, I found the provider’s behavior somewhat odd and even threatening with the provider when he came to visit post-op. He began to leer when the nurse suddenly left us alone in a room and shut the door behind her. I was not fully dressed and waiting for him to leave so I could put my clothes on. I broke eye contact with him because he was creeping me out with the staring; he then lunged forward toward me, started screaming about my clothes, and grabbed my wheelchair, pushing it away. I had to pull myself backward across the bed to try to get away from him.I filed a facility complaint, but the Emory Johns Creek response seemed dismissive to me with tones of victim-blaming. Clearly, I regret stepping foot in EJC as a young female patient where my safety does not seem to be a concern, but I should note one positive thing. I did feel that Dr. Weinberg at the downtown location tried to help me after things went badly and reassured me that I would be safe from Dr. Patel at the other location.
Please dont go this hospital. They will kill the patient after making the money for three weeks on the patient. My was admitted into hospital who was legally blind for 15 years we took care of her. It was cover numbers was 1 or 2 cases for the day. In that time my mom got admitted into hospital & she was non coven patient. She took two Covid vaccinations already, still they killed when mom needed antibiotics. They said my mom was saying that multi resistance to all antibiotics but it is not they misguided. They also stopped dialysis. Every thing happened in front of me. They killed literally my mom in front of me. The team is Dr.Quest, Dr. Akash Amin & Dr.Das all are involved in killing my mom. Same thing should happen to them & theyre family members in front of their eyes , the they should release what ever money they earned shouldntt helpful for saving there lifes.
Ive been waiting on a room since yesterday around about 4 pm and I still have yet to receive my room. My doctor has been requesting a room for me. But nothing seems to be happening like everybody but me is getting a room and Ive been here longer then all of them. Just had surgery last week and been having complications. Thats why my doctor sent me over here. So disappointed. And the bed we are laying in waiting for a room is harder the rocks. This is unacceptable.
The business office made me pay over $3,000 up front for a routine surgery & the actual bill to the hospital was only $1,200. They told me all doctors were in network which was an absolute lie. They need to refund around $2,000 to me so I can pay other doctors now. Its been almost 30 days & they still have not sent the payment verification to my insurance company yet. So far these billing errors have been a nightmare to correct & no one calls you back. Highly recommend staying away from Emory Johns Creek very disturbing treatment!
Horrible experience. Went into their emergency with sever pains in my stomach. I had an episode like this at Gwinnett medical a week ago. At Gwinnett medical, the staff immediately through blood, I guess determined I was not an opioid addict and gave me pain meds in 2 hours of getting there. I went to JC and it took them 5 hours to give me pain meds and I told them all the tests were hurting me! I Was IGNORED!THE STAFF DID NOT CARE OF F THE AMOUNT OF PAIN I WAS IN AND REFUSED TO GIVE ME PAIN MEDS.We all know And it is statistically proven that black women’s pains or ignored in hospitals. I have never experienced this in the hospital for like before last night black women’s pains are ignored a Johns Creek Emory! Don’t go!
I tend to write reviews based on my experiences, not others. When a person has a chronic illness hospitals can be a hit or miss depending on the ER doctor and nursing staff. John’s Creek is a hospital that has a lot of staffing problems starting with the ER doctors. They are arrogant and lazy. Instead of practicing medicine they just tend to take the easy route and call every symptom anxiety or Covid. Not so in many cases which cause lasting effects in people’s lives. Such as sending a person home after suffering several TIA’s and telling them it’s all in their mind. If you ever manage to actually get from the ER to an actual admission status and receive a room, it’s like a five star hotel. The rooms are extremely nice, with well educated nurses. However the nurses have to work with incompetent hospital doctors that have no clue how to interpret test results. One hospital doctor can be quoted “ you don’t need a pulmonologist, just blow up a ballon”. Another hospital doctor can be quoted “ I don’t know how to read a CT Scan so you will have to talk with your Pulmonologist “. Afterwards you are discharged with a bogus diagnosis that doesn’t even make since. Then you look at your blood test online only to find out your lungs are filled with inflammation. My advice would be to skip this hospital and make the trip to one that actually has real doctors.I find it very difficult to believe that Emory even allows it’s name to be associated with this so call “ Three Stooges Meat Market “.Don’t be fooled by the great reviews, read them carefully, after my experience I find it hard to believe that a person could actually have a good experience with such a incompetent staff.
I want to choose zero for the hospital experience if I can. But 0 is not option hereIt is horrible, horrible, horrible experience. No one care patients except few nurses are nice. All the hospital care is to give you as many unnecessary, repeat lab tests and exams as they can to make money and rip you off. No communication on the patient condition. dont know where to go. only see doctor 3 to 5 minutes. No consistent treatments on patient. If you see five star reviews, dont believe it. only look at review that star 1-3. We were in hospital more than a week and dont see any possibility that they deserve five stat. . I never write reviews before. It is my first time since it is about peoples life and health.Avoid the hospital for the people you care and love
First time mom and my nurse in labor and delivery made me never wanna give birth at a hospital ever again, they acted like I was being so dramatic with my pain and belittled my feelings. & my first nurse stuck my IV wrong. But there was one lady that really listened to me when I was in pain and she ordered me pain meds and helped me with my breathing she was definitely my angel God sent because my nurse just kept saying I couldn’t get any pain meds because my doctor didn’t “order it” as if she couldn’t just ask my doctor to order it for me. After I gave birth the nurses on the mommy and me side were so kind to me and made me feel so much better. Thank God but the labor and delivery side was not somewhere I’ll be going to again.
I’m writing this review based upon first hand experience of watching in person on how a very close loved one was treated while in this what some call a hospital. He was lied to, reports don’t match what was actually said and a certain doctor that caused his blood pressure, heart rate and EKG to go into heart attack and stroke level name was left out of all his summaries. She upset him so bad they had to admit him. This is the worst place I’ve ever been too, the doctors are horrible and don’t have a clue as to what they are doing. They write whatever they please on a patients records that don’t even come close to the truth of what was actually said.Emory is a name of high standards and should never be associated with this horrible house of horrors.I’ve read some of the five star reviews, one talks of how nice the furniture is. They have to be made up of people that are doing their best to keep this place from having an overall rating of a one star.Enter at your own risk!
I would personally NOT recommend that anyone go to this hospital. I had an interview for a position and even the interviewer was curt and short over the phone and said that she was going to email directions, of course she never did. Upon arrival to the interview, without directions, I had to call a concierge to even show me where to go. They then interviews me for an entirely different position than when I applied and pretty much bamboozled me to even attending. Very nasty experience and if that is how their pharmacy is ran, I would most definitely not go back as a patient. 0/5 stars if possible.
Do not by no means go to this facility. I had a procedure that was scheduled and had a PA and a Radiologist who in my opinion were incompetent. The PA yelled from my door at the nurses at the nurse’s station. The radiologist indicated he can go around a device that I have that is impossible to do per the manufacture of my device. Emory had me waiting for 4 hours to only to tell me to get dress and go home. Once I get home I called the office of the CEO who never called back after allowing her several days to return my call. I spoke to Maria on Friday in which she indicated I would receive a return call on Monday. I never received a call back and it is now Wednesday.
I was admitted with Covid on December 21 and had a room within three hours. The dedication and compassion of the nurses and doctors was to be commended. I was there for eight days and they did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I recently saw an opinion piece from someone that was there for three days and called it a war zone. That is exactly the opposite of what I experienced. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone that has fallen ill.
Where do I begin ... I was told that the Emory Healthcare system is supposed to be supreme and I was excited to become a patient. Boy was I wrong. I am used to Healthcare systems helping to ease the way of the patient, showing concern, compassion. Let me start with my hospital admission. I went to the emergency room ... It started out fine. The ER Dr. Jan was professional, caring, attentive and took the time to answer and make clarifications and helping me to understand. The triage nurse was nice. Everyone one from the ER staff were great. The issue came when I admitted to the CDU floor. The CDU rooms are decent but no bathrooms inside the room, That was not the issue. My first nurse was Raquel was very nice, compassionate and professional. She as my nurse from 1pm -7pm. I wished that she could have been my nurse the entire time I was admitted in the hospital. The next two CDU nurses were ok. The 7pm-7am shift was ok. The 7am-7pm nurse Lola did not treat me with compassion at all. She didnt even say goodbye when I was being discharged. Another nurse wheeled me out and as I passed the front desk, Nurse Lola was sitting right there at the front desk along with Shauna ( unsure if she was a nurse, but she was very compassionate and professional). Shauna helped me get in and out of my commode and disposed of bag in the commode. She cared. She waited and helped me and made sure that I was ok, since at that time I was weak and couldnt care for myself. She was also at the front desk as I was being discharged and being wheeled out. Shauna is the one that said good bye and get better, not the Nurse Lola who was supposed to take care of me. I was very disappointed in the Emory Healthcare system of care that I received in the hospital. I never want to go there again. My next bad experience was when I had to go to a hematologist/oncologist at Emory Buford. I selected based off the reviews, I wont go into all the details , but lets just say that I wont be going back. First the Emory Patient Portal system is not great ( maybe it could have been with this doctor for the Emory Winship Cancer Institute.) I am used to having the doctors actually make a connection and establish a relationship with when you send a message via the patient portal. This hematologist/oncologist never responded. It was always the staff or nurse. Then when you try to call the office, you get the call center and you never actually speak to someone at the office. The call center states that they can never transfer calls, even it is urgent. They have no way of doing that. Then if you have already sent a message via the patient portal, they will not send another, because they said that it would be duplicate. The office will not call you only speak via patient portal. I just dont understand. There is no patient connection or establishing relationships. Now this is just the experience that I received from the Hematologist/oncology Emory Buford. I pray that other parts of Emory are not like this experience or my hospital experience.
Overnight after my surgery was the worst hospital stay to date. No care about my pain, just this is what we do...and not changing for anyone no matter what. Doctors dont like prescribing pain meds, just after major surgery. Change your occupation. No care about me. I am now in dept up to my eye balls. I pay for no satisfaction, I pay and its about his morals not my pain. Each person is different....I cant believe this doctor doesnt know this. Staff...meh 😕
I delivered my daughter there in October. The doctors and nurses at Labor & Delivery were super attentive and caring. Everyone was very friendly. The cafeteria food was delicious. They have room service where you order food and they bring them to your room. I had a great delivery experience there. I would highly recommend to anyone that is considering to deliver their baby there.
Have been treated here for few month and everything looks fine until this morning.Have a appointment at 7 and asked to come 6:30. Wait to 7:30 then been told my schedule changed to 8 am. This was a suppress and very not American. This seems a Chinese hospital and you have to pay some tip to sneak in front of others. The worst yet front desk lady was full month of lies, make up story seems real. Amazing tell me image take 10 minutes and waited 40 minutes later to ask again she said the image room was make 1000 image every hour so it take more time. Come on lie some thing make science. Not sure how to complement about this.Leave a message to Marilyn, ask a call back. One week passed still not get any response.
I had a heart catheterization done yesterday. i feel like I got the gold standard of care from the facility, the staff, and the doctor doing the procedure. I am forever grateful to nurses Nina, Barbara, and of course my Super Hero Ester who found an impossible vein from which to draw blood. I was anxious going into the procedure, but they did a good job of explaining everything. Thank, thank you to everyone who helped me. Have a wonderful holiday - you all deserve it!
As far as the hospital experience goes, it was probably the best experience we ever had. My son had a spinal tap and every single person that worked with us in the department was wonderful. We were given top notch service and were made to feel like everybody truly cared. That being said, even though we paid up front, we received another bill later that almost doubled what we owed. The lady on the phone failed to tell me that our initial payment was an estimate, but either way, doubling the patient amount after the procedure is a little extreme. Whoever is quoting people needs to be a little bit closer to what the total might be. Nothing went wrong during the procedure either. Everything was standard and straightforward. I feel that maybe the person giving the quote isnt given all the information and cannot quote the proper amount. I dont think it is a good business practice for the bill to double once the service is finished. This would have been a 5 star review if it were not for the billing service. I truly cannot say enough good about the people that worked with me and my son on the day of his procedure.
A few nights ago, I was taken to ER at Emory in Johns Creek for abandoned pain. The entire staff was great from beginning to end, they took very good care of me. I only waited a couple of hours before seeing the doctor. They made sure that I was comfortable and understood what was going on. Thanks toand Dr Rau and Nurse Caroline, they have the best bedside manners ever. I would also like to thank Carl Roseboro for the referral. 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for me. I traveled from Lithonia to Johns Creek and it was worth it. Blessings to the entire staff.
My father was there recently in ICU. My family and I can not say enough about the staff, of how pleasant and awesome they all were. Even when he went to the 4th floor, the staff still were awesome. The nurses were extremely proficient in their knowledge and skills. The doctors were all amazing and I feel like the staff certainly saved my fathers life and helped him heal quickly. Thank you All do much!! Forever Grateful ❤️❤️🙏🙏
So I had surgery a few days ago. My nurses were Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Kathy. They were AUH-MAZING! They were so kind and warm. Despite them both having to work a long shift even though that’s what nurses do. They took care of me like I was there family member. The anesthesiologist and his assistant were also super warm and very concerned about me post-operatively. They ALL made sure they took care of me pro-actively instead of re-acting when it could be too late. With all that being said I’m so sorry some of you have had a bad experience with Emory. My experience=AWESOMENESS and I am DEFINITELY going to use them going forward. Hopefully, I will not need surgery again. But if I do, hands down Emory at John’s Creek will be my 1st and only choice.THANKS again to all who were involved with my procedure. VERY GRATEFUL ☺️😌
Having worked around Healthcare professionals for over 20 years, Dr. Vojdanis Team, along with the nursing staff at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, exemplied a level of patient care and concern that is truly exceptional. Their promptness at responding back to their patients is remarkable. I consider myself so fortunate to have access to this group of professionals.
We moved to the Johns Creek area specifically due to having aging parents (88+) and with the need for good health care and a nearby quality hospital. I have been beyond pleased with every aspect of the care our entire family has gotten from Emory Johns Creek Hospital, the ER room (parents have made over 20 visits over the last 10 years to the ER for various issues and have received top notch care), and all the doctors who support the hospital. I am listing the doctors who we have had serving our entire family over the last 10 years due to their affiliations with Emory, their qualification, their bedside manner, and the level of care they provide. I could not more highly recommend any of them. As it took so much time to find the right fit....I hope everyone can benefit from the below recommendations.Dr. Tanya Pandya - Primary Care - Pandya Medical - absolute best doctor anyone in my family has ever had. Her level of knowledge, care, and compassion are amazing. She responds to email the same day and will call within a few hours or less if there is ever a need I have for my parents. Dr. Scott Beach - Cardiologist - Heart and Vascular Care - best in his field and he could not be more patient with my parents or responsive to any of our needs.Dr. Jeffrey Roth - ENT - Northeast Atlanta Ear, Nose and Throat - amazing surgeon and ENT. Dr. Vishal Bhalani - Urologist - Advanced Urology - Johns Creek area - great practice, great bedside manner with elderly patients.Dr. Stephen Rashbaum – Gastroenterologist - Digestive Care Specialists – I had to go through multiple doctors to find this practice as most wanted to stick me on medicine without fully listening to why I had not been on medicine in the past. Dr. Rashbaum is exceptional, patient, and takes the time to explain treatment options. It takes a while to get in to see him, but the wait is very well worth it (and they can work you in when needed for emergencies).Dr. Yvonne Satterwhite – Orthopedic surgeon – Resurgeons Orthopedic – best we have ever seen, impressed with entire practice. My Dad is a stubborn patient and Dr. Satterwhite is great with him. Amazing care for entire family.Dr. Elizabeth Denney - Milan Eye Care - great eye OD, very patient, thorough and personality. Skilled yet humble, knowledgeable, and loves her work and patients.Dr. Carrie Edwards - ER Dr. - Emory Johns Creek - amazing care for my parents on a consistent basis. Made time to make me aware of updates during their COVID stay, and went above and beyond at providing me information and advice.Dr. Ali Al-Zubaidi - on staff Dr. Emory Johns Creek - knowledge, compassionate and his bedside manner was excellent. Kept me updated regularly on status of parents during their numerous hospital stays. Heard he is a favorite of all the staff and admin support as well.Elizabeth Reid Stipe - social worker - Emory Johns Creek - worked with me and my sister on a myriad of resources to get additional support for us and for my parents for care after release from hospital.
I had to go in for a surgery to remove a lymph node to get a biopsy, which was very scary for me, and from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out EVERY SINGLE PERSON was amazing, kind, nurturing and understanding. The doctor, anesthesiologist and all the nurses were incredible and put me at ease in a very tense situation. And I also had my son there 7 years ago and that was also a great experience too!
Please please please stay away of this place , my husband had a surgery last week , the stuff and the nurses are so rude , they didn’t want to do their works , unprofessional, when you ask about help they just go and not come back until you call again , there is a nurse her name is Samira , she is super rude , my husband asked her second day of surgery to help him take a shower , she said we are women we can’t do that !!!!!!!today he asked her to change his ileostomy bag cause it’s leaking, she did that without cleaning the skin and in a rude way ,that’s one percent of what happened for him in this place , please stay away from this hospital, I never seen something like that , we will never back there for his coming surgery , I hope I could give -10 stars not just one star 👎👎👎
If you are coming to this hospital for emergency care good luck. This facility left my grandmother sitting in a bed with a broken hip for 5 days before they could figure out what was wrong with her. She was overly medicated and bed ridden for an excessive period of time due to the lack of knowledge, communication, and medical protocol this hospital displayed. She spent 2 days sitting in the ER with zero diagnosis then was moved to the 3rd floor where it took 2 days to get an MRI we (the family) had to request. She was told 1st she had a broken hip then it was changed and we were told the hip wasn’t broken the X-rays were showing old pelvic fractures to finally on day 5 being told it was in fact a broken hip and emergency surgery would take place in a few hours. Charge nurse on the 3rd floor was a rude nightmare to deal with and refused to provide a sitter for a patient who was a fall risk and suffers short term memory issues. A sitter was ultimately provided.Dr. Thomas was the only person who had any source of knowledge or even tried to help us develop a solid care plan for my grandmother. Oh best of all when we requested her to be given a shower after 6 days of being there they refused saying she was too much of a fall risk, yet a few hours later we were being discharged, because a physical therapist that spent less than a cumulative hour with her said she was “safe” enough to come home. She was treated so poorly here I will be taking this story to the head of the hospital. No one should be treated this way much less an elderly patient. This was ridiculous and I can’t even imagine the billing nightmare that is yet to come.
My experience at this hospital was poor to say the least. The nurses ignored the calls and tests sent by my primary care physician and decided to do the same tests again while I was still in a lot of pain and distress waiting for actual treatment. The lack of communication in this place is clear as well. After giving me extra strength tylenol for my fever during the tests, another nurse came into my room and tried giving me more assuming that I have not had some already. In addition, the nurse who ran the tests on me asked me to do a urine test. After I was done, I placed it to be collected by a nurse. It never was. By the time I actually got the treatment I was expecting, a nurse came to remove the needle in my arm without gloves with the excuse that washing hands is enough. While walking around the room, the nurse did not even bother to politely ask my mother to move. He just walked into her to get the gloves that we had to demand him to use. Needless to say I walked out of that hospital feeling drugged and disappointed. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the doctor who took care of me was nice enough to acknowledge me and my mother as people and not just another patient with some loved one.
Had a surgery here recently and they did a FANTASTIC job !! My surgeon was GREAT, the nurses were super nice, the food was really good, the facilities were new, everything was very clean, very impressed and grateful, most of all, grateful. My many thanks to the entire team at Emory University John Creek !! Thank you so very much for doing such an excellent job.
The staff and nurses here were amazing and gave close attention! I got admitted here twice during my pregnancy and both the times the staff and nurses were so caring. The place is clean and comfortable too. I had to cancel my Baby shower coz of some complications but the hospital insisted and was generous enough for me to have a baby shower celebration at the hospital hall itself. My doctor and couple of nurses attended the baby shower too which made the whole process so personal and amazing! Jessica and Dr Whitney cook delivered my Baby and we are super Thankful to both to make the process so special and smooth! Would highly recommend this hospital for delivery.
I will NEVER go back to this ER again -- when I went in to ER with shortness of breath and my lungs burning from COVID-19, the ER doc who was some guy in his 30s, prescribed me a bottle of Mucinex and sent me home to die. They did not offer any other treatment except Mucinex - no oxygen, no inhaler, no vitamins, no antibody treatment, NOTHING. Well, sorry EMORY JOHNS CREEK -- I survived. And I am here to tell you all -- DO NOT GO HERE.
My experience with this hospital was beyond Amazing from the time l encountered with entrance staff to triage Nurse with Tattoosl to Nursing Staff in ER and head Nyrse Practioner who admitted me in overnight recovery area l was attended by a wonderful caring Nurse but l was in so much pain l cant recall her name at this time but she had west Indian accent with amazing work ethics and beautiful personality. I so appreciated her being assigned to me as well as her morning relief Nurse Kate from England who wasalso way beyond amazing and quickly attended to all medical needs without hesitant and awesome smile.. The MrI staff and the attendant Elizabeth who escorted me out and made sure l had a proper wheel chair was truly appreciated because she went out of way to make sure l had the right one for my size and comfort . DR. Lindsay Owen was just as awesume and I left this hospital satisfied with my exceptional excellent care due to those on duty while there.
Not happy with my experience in the Emory Johns Creek Emergency Department. Came in with a pretty bad allergic reaction & hives all over my body and my throat starting to close up. I was given medication through an IV, which I knew absolutely needed to happen because of how bad the allergic reaction was. Before the nurse started I explained to her that I dont do well with needles and I will most likely pass out, which I did once she inserted the IV. Instead of trying to calm me down and talk me through the process both the nurse and the physicians assistant acted like theyve never seen someone who hates needles. I mean, come on people. You are supposed to be health care PROFESSIONALS. They then proceeded to make comments saying, I hope you dont plan on having kids and such. I wont be going out of my way to come back to this hospital.
Stay away from this hospital if you want to live. Full of uncaring nurses and doctors. The staff treats you like trash. Whats the point of being a medical professional, if you are not going to help the people who need help? Very disappointed in the service here. Emory should be ashamed of this hospital and its practices. It was a good hospital a long time ago but has since gone way down.
I have delivered two babies here and each time I really enjoyed my stay. The nurses on duty were very polite and helpful. They respected our privacy. It was a very quiet and peaceful stay. My OB was the OB on duty so it was nice to know that should I need anything, she was also staying overnight in a room gown the hall.Since our babies were healthy, we were allowed to go home a day early as long as we agreed to follow up with the pediatrician within two days.
I just had surgery yesterday (3/1/18) and had to stay 1 night in the hospital. The care i received was nothing short of AMAZING!! The day nurse Byrd and patient tech Lester have great beside manner and was very tentative to my needs. The night nurse Rubina was also AMAZING!! She was right there when i needed her. All 3 of these people made my 1 night stay so much easier. I worked at a hospital for 10 years and people like this are very hard to find. I cant rave about them enough. Thank you ladies and gentleman for going above and beyond to show your patients that you really do care and do a phenomenal job. Again, i cant thank you enough. All the other staff from my preop, to surgery, to my room, everyone was so nice and helpful. I am definately glad i chose this hospital.
I had outpatient surgery and found this facility outstanding. Every staff member, from check-in to discharge, met or exceeded my expectations. The office staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The medical staff, nurses, orderlies, anesthesiologist, and doctor were all knowledgeable and professional, and displayed remarkable people skills. On the whole, they managed to make me feel as confident and comfortable as possible. Thanks to all for managing to turn this into a positive experience!
If negative stars were a thing I would give them the worst rating. The nurses are lazy, there is not communication between shifts, no one has any idea what going on, EVER! They dont know how to properly document care or even give the proper care. The only good nurse I have seen is the PT & OT employees. When I get the medical records from the hospital I will be in touch with my lawyer. In addition, if you are trying to get talk to the person in charge or a social worker you might as well forget it! You will waste your time and just get the run around and still have no human contact with who you need to speak to. They will note they came in the room and no one ever showed! They have treated my grandmother so poorly and if I did not have connections in the medical field nothing would have been handled! If you want your loved one to die and suffer this is where you send them. I wouldnt send my worst enemy here. THIS HOSPITAL IS A FREAKING JOKE!!!! STAY AWAY
Admitted 1/19/20 and I just have to say I have had the most Amazing nurses!! First Kim in the ER and Then Cy on the third floor that night took great care of me and then yesterday was my birthday and the Amazing Ann Hollon was beyond amazing and caring!! Last night I had Keisha who again was compassionate and caring, all came many times to check on me and everytime I called them they were very prompt and helpful. Very Thankful for such caring, beautiful and compassionate nurses making this one of my best admissions!! Even though pain hasn’t been easy these ladies have gone above and beyond everything to try to keep me comfortable and provide EXCELLENT care 😊
I liked this hospital very much. My wife was in both labor and delivery together for 3 days. The Dr Betty Anthony she took greater care of my wife during delivery. There was nurse Melissa practitioner, she was awesome took care of my wife, and nurse helped my wife a lot.The only concern, I had was day nurse dont care about anything. if you check the look on the day nurse face, i think they dont give a damn.I Recommend this hospital for labor!!!
Went here with covid 19. Difficulty breathing chest pain severe dizziness. The ladies at the emergency desk wouldnt even get me a wheelchair. none of the nurses were communicative and they were outright hostile. Not rude, hostile. They kept me in a closet with a porta potty so I wouldnt infect anyone else which is understandable but they locked me in there for hours with absolutely no communication and would not even respond to me with the emergency button. I would not go back to this hospital if I was on deaths door
Five weeks ago I had appendicitis and was admitted to the ER. I must have been there on a slower day. I got into see a doctor in about 20 minutes. I arrived around 10:40, got into a room at 11:00, CT scan at 1:30 and diagnosed with acute appendicitis by 2 p.m. Surgery was performed around 3:30 p.m. and woke up around 5:30 p.m. I stayed over night and the staff has efficient and kind. The facility is new and very clean. I would recommend.
This is by far the WORST EMORY!!!! To begin, they have the rudest staff. Their nurses have no priorities for their patients. Patients walking with no strength in their legs and the nurses did not even ask how they can help, or offer a wheelchair. Nurses are too busy talking to each other and laughing, while my wife was in excrutiating pain(kidney stone). The nurse assigned to my room told me to ask another nurse to give me my wife her medicine when he was the nurse assigned. When he walked in he did not even say hi how are you, just acted like he was not the nurse and that he was going to get another one. He completely ignored what I had told him about my wife’s pain and left the room. Your better off going to another hospital. Patients go because they feel bad, they don’t need someone being hateful also.
On October 19, 2018, my husband and I arrived at the ER around 5 am. The over night shift was awesome. Dr Chen and the staff was great. We were taken straight back. The Dr ordered x-rays and a CT scan.7am is shift change. This is when the service dropped horribly. All we were waiting on were the results. The new staff didnt have to do anything. And nothing they did!!! Unless you consider nurse Lindsey and others watching cartoons and cat videos. At 8:20, my husband asked where was the doctor. The response was shift change. Sorry but the shift change happened almost 90 minutes earlier. When we finally saw Dr Michael Ross, he told us they couldnt do anything if there are no broken bones. So broken bones are the only thing that ER can treat? After showing up before 5 am, we didnt get out of there until 9:30.The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the overnight shift was fantastic.
They have an ER Doctor thats really amazing. Hes a young Man, I believe his name is Justin. Hes very attentive and caring. I saw him today and one other time he took care of my mother. Both of these unfortunate occasions he was extremely kind and very caring. It means a lot when youve been though what Ive been though. Being a care taker is really hard sometimes. And sometimes the care taker is so busy taking care of the sick and needy we neglect ourselves.Im glad he was in when I came in today.I want to wish him the best!
We are lucky to have this hospital a few miles away from the house. Since it opened a little over ten years ago, our family has had to go to the ER a few times the most recent when I nearly cut my finger off.The staff here is wonderful. They are professional and provide caring service. And, they handle my nervous jokes with appropriate humor in return!I am so thankful for everyone at this hospital.
My son had back surgery, they had to do another one three days later. They sent him home with pneumonia. Plus the nursing staff never came when you pushed the button. You had to go find them. They would push his food in his room and leave it. They never placed it by the bed. If we did not stay with him he would have went hungry. Worst hospital ever. Big beautiful rooms lots of wasted space. But very poor help. Would not recommend this hospital. Had to take him to Henry County Hospital to get him well / better. Pneumonia almost killed him. He did die a couple years later, because the pain would not go away.
Pleasantly surprised. No complaints whatsoever. Sure there was a little wait for my daughter to be seen... but thats expected. (She had severe adnominal pain - not actively bleeding or anything.) The receptionist was polite and proficient. The triage nurse was friendly and professional. The Physician Assistant (Jan) was fantastic... as were the ladies who drew blood, administered meds and performed the CT scan. Very pleased by their bedside manner and simple decency they showed towards a young lady in pain - and her concerned parents. Thanks!
Dont go here if you can help it! Ive just had the worst experience with an ER visit since my pregnancy. The problems started when I waited 30 minutes to be seen and I was the ONLY person in the waiting room! While waiting my 30 minutes I had to sit in an area where there was dried up blood on the floor! When I finally got called into a room instead of the nurse asking if I wanted a wheelchair as he blatantly saw me limping in pain, he made me walk everywhere! The nurse comes in the room and tried to start an IV while complaining about my tiny veins the whole time which I felt was very unnecessary. The nurse also made me take a urine sample and did not take the sample for labs. The doctor gave me 4 different diagnoses which were not explained in the discharge paperwork and was also so quick to prescribe pain meds without further diagnostic procedures. The cherry on the top of the sundae was the fact that the receptionist failed to hand ME my insurance card and ID but gave the cards to a someone in my party and now I dont have either. What a terrible experience!
We had our twins there 4 years ago and had a great experience. My wife was in hell today because of a labor and delivery nurse that has worked there since the hospital opened. She checked my wife’s cervix without permission at the beginning and hurt her. She wouldn’t help her going to the bathroom or unplugging her iv machine. She clearly did not like my wife and played games with timing of her meds and became hostile when we demanded to talk with our doctor. I am seriously considering legal action
Nurse Judy was working in the ER on Monday, October 15th. Her behavior and conversation with the doctor on call was unprofessional and inappropriate. Judy was busy flirting with the doctor on call so much so, that she was not able to provide good service. This nurse was negligent in her care for me. She bragged about how neat my veins were after sticking a needle in my arm to draw blood.Judy placed the needle through my arm in a horizontal position. I have had three surgeries in the past and I have never had anyone stick me this way. When blood did not flow, Judy began to dig around in my arm, pushing, and pulling on the needle while it was in my arm until the blood began to flow.In addition, I had to remind her to remove the needle upon discharge. Before making it to my car, a liquid started to ooze through my navy blue sweater. I took the sweater off and blood was draining down my arm. I went back to the ER front desk and a nice nurse cleaned me up and gave me contact numbers to report nurse Judy. Here it is 4 days later and the area is still sore, swollen and purple. The care I received was awful. I was also displeased with the doctor’s care. I felt dismissed and I believe I wasted my time. The doctor’s attitude was positive, however, he did not seem interested in given me an adequate diagnosis. At one point he laughed and told me, I diagnosed myself. I am not sure if he was ready to get back to Judy flirting with him, but my health was not a priority in my opinion. My visit was awful.I would like to add that the front desk staff was helpful and courteous.
This hospital shouldn’t be attached to Emory’s good name. I didn’t feel confident after my breast tumor was noted and confirmed. I opted to go see someone at Piedmont and received excellent care there. And they send you to collections even if you’re paying your bill if you don’t call them first to set up a payment plan. Gotta love the US health robbers!
I went here for my chemo and found the experience to be one of the best experiences of my overall cancer treatment. Very friendly and professional staff. My nurse always was available if I had questions or concerns about my status. She put up with my silly jokes and made sure that I had everything I needed. Her name was Heather and between her and the Department head, Connie, I have come to appreciate the efforts of the whole team at Johns Creek. Between my chemo and radiation treatments at Emory, I am now cancer free and only going for follow up appointments.Sorry to see that some others have not given the highest score for this hospital, but different maladies require different procedures and triage tries to get the patients in as soon as possible. Stroke victims receive almost instant care in any trauma hospital. I have had to wait for Doctors in other venues even when I was in pain. Kidney stones taught me to bear the pain and wait for the pain killer. It always came and I am still here.I recommend any Emory facility and give them full credit for my life. I was told at one time I would die from my cancer last year; now I am planning my new life and getting back in shape physically and am looking forward to having fun and even going back to work. I retired in 1999 and am 74 years old. Hoorah!
The nurses, doctors, staffs were great. They did really good but except one thing that made me get mad. I was finding my mom room and there was a staff didnt allow me to find it, she looked at my clothes, glance at me and then say no even though I have the permission. Thats too rude!
We delivered my baby boy here on 3/8. I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. The Nurses and hospital staff were extremely courteous and professional and genuinely caring. My wifes labor was progressing rapidly, we showed up at 6pm and my son was out at 7:16pm. We had an army of nurses in the delivery room working together in unison to make sure everything went right, and it did! All of them were extremely knowledgeable and professional, never once did I feel like they werent qualified to be there. The only hitch is that the on call MD couldnt make it in time to do the actual delivery, but Nurse Mona and Nurse Jessica were able to execute the delivery flawlessly. The on call MD showed up two minutes after the delivery to help patch things up.Another thing I liked a lot was that every person who came to our recovery room, whether it was an MD an RN or even a hospital staffer, asked us is there anything else I can do for you before I leave? Do you need anything? Nobody was above the customer service, which made us feel very welcome and comforted. I also observed that all the nurses and other staff seemed to genuinely like eachother and worked well together. Very professional. I highly recommend this hospital if you are thinking about delivering here.
I was admitted last spring for a strange migraine with extremes confusion. They did scans and found out I had extreme narrowing of two major blood vessels in my brain. BUT THEY NEVER TOLD ME. I never saw a doctor the entire time I was there but was still billed as if I had. Only nurses saw me. During rounds they told me the doctor was too busy to come by.The discharge advice I received was to buy a new pillow. I followed this advice but continued with debilitating headaches and double vision.Luckily I went to a neurologist afterwards who informed me of what my hospital tests had shown and I have a great team of neuros and neuro ophthalmologists who have helped me save my eyesight and helped relieve my increased inter-cranial pressure. They told me not to return to EJC in the case of an emergency.Avoid EJC.
Absolute disgusting and neglectful level of care for patients in the oncology unit. I am an RN, my grandfather was sadly diagnosed with a very painful form of cancer. My family and I spoke with the MD and attending nursing staff to ensure he would get sufficient pain control and comfort measures, as he is weak and in terrible pain.We were assured orders had been written to address the matter. We were barely gone for 10 hrs and in that time we returned to find him in excruciating pain, soaked in urine, cold and neglected. The excuse from the hospital is and the attending nurse was that “ we should know this is to be expected in a hospital environment.”We have now had to hire a professional to sit with him and make sure his orders are carried out and that he is not left in his own bodily fluids. This is unacceptable, sad, and neglectful.Avoid this hospital at all costs.
This has been one of the worst hospitals to stay in my entire life!Ive had a few uncalled experiences while here. I was awoken one morning to find I was having severe choking! No one could hear me and none of my call buttons include those on the wook would work. I went in to panic mode. I ended up having to Google the hospital number, then the operator then to the floor nurse. The nurse that came in had nothing but attitude! I then ended up back un ICU!VERY scary and never again. Please think twice before using this hospital! Good luck!
Sadistic. They lie to push breastfeeding. Our first child had jaundice because she was being starved. We just had our second and were determined to avoid jaundice. We breastfeed and I see formula to make sure our baby was getting enough food. Our second child now has jaundice because this hospital LIED to use about the amount our child should be consuming. They told us 1/3 the amount it should have been. So we have been starving our child. Im sick to my stomach. These people should be sued out of practice and be barred from practicing medicine.
Getting into the hospital was overly complicated as a result of insufficient space. I was scheduled for an induction but this was delayed because of Csections and natural births. After the third rescheduling they finally accepted me.Once I was in the hospital things started to go more smothely. They still had a few hiccups that made me want to walk out the same day. I had to sleep in the delivery room on a delivery bed. For those who don’t know what this means it’s like sleeping on a brick and your bed is elevated pointing your feet down ward. They finally got us into the correct bed after my feet had swollen up like balloons and I begged/ harassed them to move me.The lack of space is their greatest downfall. The nurses were pleasant and easy to work with. The older ones were a bit set in their way and would help when they felt good and ready to help you. While they may be the only choice your Dr gives you see if you have other choices until Emory has fully fleshed out their baby unit.
For elective procedures, I’d stay far away. I went in okay, and came out butchered. Staff doesn’t communicate, not a patient-centered philosophy, and serious mistakes were made. This is a “volume business” factory. That goes for all of Emory medicine. My opinion is formed based on multiple failed and sloppy interventions with horrendous misdiagnoses over the course of about five years. Just awful.
I recently went into the ER for back pain due to a car accident because the local urgent care rep recommended it based on my insurance. My admission was hassle free and took no more than 10 minutes, wait time included. They treated me well and my nurse was awesome. Because I had missed lunch, he brought me a lunch box.I was also able to pick up my prescriptions from the Walgreens about 2 minutes away.
Its taken me a really long time to write this review, but for any mothers out there who may give birth here in the future - maybe consider somewhere else. While my nurses who took care of me during labor and delivery were AMAZING, and took great care of ME, I cannot say the same for how the NICU team cared for my son. Over 48 hours passed before we spoke to a single doctor about his care... every nurse told us they couldnt tell us anything and to wait for a doctor. We tried to show up for rounds, and they wouldnt show. We asked to be called when they were there and no one called. No mother should have their child in the NICU with no update. I had to sob to my nurse taking care of my recovery to finally get an update. Thankfully, he was released after one week, and is home safe with us. But Im still upset 3 months later regarding how the NICU handled the situation.
I a few times had to bring family members here. Each time was good experience ( no one wants to be in a hospital , but under such circumstances that you needed medical attention ). They provided good services. Doctors and nurses were very knowledgeable and calm. Took great care of their patients.
I have my chemo infusion here, my Dr office is here, and Ive been admitted 3 times. This is a very good hospital. The staff is very caring, attentive, and very good at lifting spirits. That includes Drs, nurses, techs, dietary staff, housekeeping, and volunteers. I havent met anyone I was displeased with yet.
Very helpful crew ! I took my sister to the emergency room, even though they took a little while to take her into the room but lady on the front desk in emergency room gave the attention to us right away. They started to check her blood pressure and temperature right away instead of just letting her sit there and cry in pain. They provide her little comfort by just talking to her. It was just a little while before they took her in even though they saw her crying in pain.
As the caregiver to both of my parents 3 years ago I can tell you as a frequent flyer that this hospital is concerned for both the patient and the family. My mother was admitted several times during her illness in 2012 and the loving care that she received was excellent. The staff from doctors to nurses to social workers working behind the scene to help the families of terminally ill patients get set up at home, they are the best.Having lost my mother in 2012, My father became our focus. 91 now, he has been in the hospital about twice a year for the past 3 years. Each visit has been as nice as a hospital visit can be. The nurses treat him like family.
I came in with blurred vision, pain in my chest and a severe headache. The staff was incredibly unprofessional and I could hear them giggling while I waited two hours to be seen. One nurse asked another to grab a wheelchair for a patient and the nurse said “Can I break their legs?” I felt so uncomfortable and left immediately without being seen.
Environment was very comfortable but the doctors prolonged my illness by prescribing unnecessary antibiotics that did nothing to alleviate my problems when surgery was required. It was noted in my medical file that the doctor recommended surgery but I wasnt notified until months later when I was in extreme pain. Then I was advised that I would have to wait for 2 more additional appointments before I can even get my surgery scheduled. I can honestly say this hospital was more concerned with maximizing my insurance payouts/claims than my health. I eventually had to see another doctor at another hospital to get the urgent care I required. I also experienced the same thing as another former patient. I was billed for an ER visit when services were never rendered. I declined services because they were trying to charge me as an uninsured patient when I told them I had coverage. Patients really need to be careful because I completely trusted and felt comfortable my first few visits until I realized how they operate.
Worst HOSPITAL EVER!!! IF YOU ARE IN PAIN TRY ANOTHER HOSPITAL! ALSO YOU SHOULD NEVER go alone, they will try to force unnecessary treatment, and communicate poorly and have you sitting in excruciating pain for hours. The nurses lie and put your safety at risk, and should you decided to question them about the unnecessary treatment they will refer you to google. Literally had the charge nurse pull up google to give me information about a migraine cocktail that they administer to patients. I had to go to Northside Hospital after spending hours without treatment at Emory Johns Creek.
My wife gave birth here. The doctor and nursing staff were excellent!!! Only three star because Lactation Consultant was incompetent and lacking any consideration for a new mothers. Lactation Consultant wants to just “check the box” to fill her quota of a day. We went to Piedmont instead and we received proper consultation as to what to do and what not to do. 30 minute of checking the box consultation at Emory vs 3 hour proper consultation at Piedmont. Wish Emory could hire more competant consultants or change its compensation model to be more mother-centric.
Emory Johns Creek Hospital did a wonderful job taking care of me for a surgery for a ruptured appendix December 2013. I was in extreme abdominal pain when I arrived at the ER. They admitted me to the hospital, and had me in surgery quickly. Very professional through the surgery. While I stayed in the hospital, the nursing staff was very helpful and attentive.Dr. David Hayes did a great job performing the surgery and assisting me after I was home from the hospital. He is a great doctor and surgeon.
Went to the ER because my head felt like it was going to explode and I felt like I was having palpitations, not to mention I’m going on two days of no sleep. The RN saw me and told me they couldn’t help and that they would not give prescribe me drugs, as if I’m some druggy coming off the street when I haven’t even accepted narcotics from them before. I just want to sleep and not feel like I’m dying! Worst service ever!!! Went to Northside Hospital instead where they actually care about their patients.
I believe that the nearly universally agreed upon problem facing patients like me is poor management within hospital management. Doctors appear confident in their roles; however, the general staff lacks guidance. Because there is little if any accountability from top down, attitudes wane. THERE IS NO PRESSURE FOR PERFORMANCE. The outward appearance is that very few if any staff care much about care, performance, hospitality or quality. >85 percent of nurses lack proper training. Hardly a sole smiles nor appears to enjoy their work. I’m disappointed in EJCH. It is a ship adrift without a leader. EJCH would not be my first choice again nor would I recommend it to my family or friends.
These people are personable and friendly and accommodating. I had breast reduction surgery there and it was like a dream. They had everything covered, and you could tell all these people work together and know each other. I would go back there any time! The only complaint I have is with the billing department. I got a strange and unexplained bill, and when I called to see what it was about the first person I talked to sounded angry. The second person I talked to sounded like they were tripping on mushrooms or something. Nobody seemed to know what was going on with it. They finally called me back after a week, telling me the bill was a mistake.
When I checked in for my spine surgery this past Thursday morning at 5:30am, I was talking with a lady with slightly curly hair and glasses whose name escapes me about how bad the reviews are on Google. I asked her, Have you seen the Google reviews on this place? Especially about the nursing and emergency room and how bad they are?She said, No, but you have to remember people only leave reviews when theyre mad and have bad experiences. I told her that wasnt true, that I leave reviews on great service as well. She told me then that I would be writing about today (meaning Thursday, Sept. 13th, 2018). She was right. True to my word, here it is:Emory Johns Creek has, beyond any doubt, the best nursing staff on earth. From Jennifer, the oriental nurse that prepped me (and we had a ball!) to the two nurses that took care of me in post op recovery (a Hispanic nurse named Teresa and a nurse that had dark, long curly hair with a French name, Lourette or something of that nature, both of whom went above and beyond the call of duty) to Tracy who took care of me through the night, the nursing simply could not have possibly been any better. Were there issues? Yes, but nothing that effected the overall outcome. About the most annoying thing was that my bed didnt work. None of the controls on the inside panels were operable. Everybody that came in thought that maybe the controls were locked, but they werent. They were just broken and didnt work.It also took far, far, far, far too long to get me to my room. I was supposed to be in recovery for 30 to 45 minutes tops. Due to poor scheduling and very poor oversight, there was no room for me to go to and I wound up being stuck there for 5 hours. If not for Teresa and Lourette, I would have lost my mind. Those two ladies qualify for instant canonization in my book. They took care of me, kept me sane and saw me through it. I owe them huge for that.My surgeon Dr. Barnett and her team were top notch. Even the two young men that wheeled me around were kind, professional and just great to be around. If you have problems with the nursing at Emory Johns creek, maybe you need to do some soul searching and realize these people arent your mother. They are not there to give you hugs and kisses and rub your feet for you and bring you hot cocoa. They are trained professionals there to do a job and they do it better than anybody Ive ever dealt with...and this being my 5th surgery, believe me I know.
I will never come back to this hospital . I’ve been throwing up for days and fighting cancer. I was admitted and placed on the 4th floor. The day nurses were all great . The moment the late shift came on it was big loud party . Nurses walking up and down hall talking so loud you could there over tv. Visitors roaming hallway at 12am talking loudly like it’s mid day. The nurse goes in room across from me leaves door open and begins to scream so the elderly lady could her without shutting the patients door. I got up and shut it . You here to get rest it’s 1:31 am and had to call nursing supervisor to shut late shifts party down . Never had such and inexperience in hospital with a unprofessional staff that acted like that . As I’m finishing up writing this a nurse just yelled down the hall to answer another nurse at the other in . I guess nurse supervisor Catherine not much better. Good luck if your sick and rest . Stay off 4 th floor. Wouldn’t let me give it zero stars...Update- After I complained they immediately addressed the issue and the next several day where great and all nurses where wonderful. I will definitely come back .
This was the worse emergency room experience I’ve ever had. The triage and charge nurses were rude, Dr. Rosing was rude, and no one was concerned with the chest pains I was having or my extremely high blood pressure. I was ignored, lied to about treatment, and rushed out of the ER, left in a lot of pain. These providers violated my patient rights, and violated their oath to medicine. Everyone that was not a person of color treated me badly and did not try to treat me. I felt as though I was being discriminated against and felt unsafe as Dr. Rosing tried to give me medication I did not need, that would cause me harm, and had nothing to do with my chest pains or migraines. As an AA hypertensive women, exhibiting early signs of a heart attack in women (which differs from me), I was ignored, left to wait for over an hour, and untreated.
This is the worst hospital ever. Even if you are the only one in the waiting room you will be there for hours. Triage will tell you that you will be pulled back in a few mins cause beds are available and still hours later have not been called back. Then nurses and doctors are very rude to you. If you ask questions about your child care they make it seem like an issue, like us as parents are not allowed to know. I truly hope that the hospital does something about it. You dont have to lie or be rude. If you tell the truth and treat us with respect then we may not mind waiting awhile for care.
My mom has been in this hospital for almost a month. Believe me... Ive learned a lot during the 28 days there. Instead of being able to care for her and spend any quality time with her, Ive spent it chasing doctors and nurses to get answers. No one is on the same page when it comes to the team of cardiologists and especially oncology. There have been so many things go wrong, I had to contact the CEO of EJCH on a Saturday to get the chaos under control. There were 2 days her heart monitor wasnt working and she was in Afib for six hours which we found out after having to take her to her primary cardiologist at Piedmont who checked her pacemaker. There were 4 instances where we ordered her meals that never came. Physical therapists that never showed up in the room. Every day something seemed to go wrong. 7 hrs spent in emergency waiting for a room. 6 hrs spent waiting on a procedure that was supposed to happen at 10am. They came to get her at 3:30pm. The doctors and nurses arent on the same page. If you have a loved one there, DO NOT LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED! We will never go back. If its an emergency, Ill take her to Northside. BEWARE!!!
Worst service every . When I arrived it was only two people in the lobby. I waited 5 hours before they called anybody name. When they called names. They called three people who just walk in in front. Of me. I walk up to the desk and stated I waited 5 hours I know it is by your issues . They couldnt even find my paper work. Then the guy said ooh I see what happened Ill come and get you in 5 minutes. 5 minutes went by know one came. I waited other 2 hours still havent been seen. Im still waiting and the lady at the desk stated we only have 110 beds so there is nothing we can do. Im still setting here waiting. Other hour gone bye. This is. They worst hospital I ever been to. I felt like I was at Grady with know insurance. I have insurance. Unprofessional staff . Front staff have no customer service skills. Please keep in mind I havent made it to the back!!!!!!!! Please dont go to this hospital. They worst emergency every.
Good day,I hope you are having a lovely day thus far.I was hospitalized for the first time in my life on October 19, 2018, and I was admitted into John’s Creek Emory Hospital. I felt the need to send a message to advise the amazing service that I received during my time of need. The nurses and the doctors were extremely helpful and caring! I thought the service was absolutely fantastic! Even down to the kitchen staff the food was very good and filling as well.I would like to provide a special thank you to the following staff members:Ø Ericka – Emergency RoomØ Shelley – From the 4th FloorØ Dwight – 4th FloorØ Ms. Tee – 4th FloorØ Dr. Das – 4th FloorØ Stephanie -4th FloorØ Janet – 4th FloorThank you again for allowing me to feel safe and being placed in great hands.Fantastic Services and Staff members!
Do not go there!! The ER is ridiculous!! Today I took my 1 year old there because its very close to my home. He had a very high temperature. I gave him Tylenol around 7am and by 9am his fever was 105.4 so I rushed him over. Got there and they seemed to be okay and checked him in. Checked his temp there and its was 104. Dr came in introduced himself as Dr Micheal got some info and left. Nurse came in and did swabs and finally gave my baby Tylenol. We checked in at 9:40. They gave him Tylenol after 11 something. I cant believe they let a baby go that long with 104 temp. Not to mention they were not that busy. Hours later the nurse came in to tell us what was going on and he needed another test. Nurse Johnson was shocked that the Dr didnt even come in to talk with us. Hours later again dr finally came in and said okay he has RSV and said I will get ur discharge papers. We waited at least another hour and half. We almost just up and left. Nurse Johnson came back in after we called nurse and went to the desk twice. The nurse was completely shocked that we got this kind of treatment. So please take ur time to go to another hospital. You cant get any response from these people!! We where there a total of 6 hours on the dot. In a little room with a 13 month old.
The worse experience ever! My husband has been sitting her from a severe allergic reaction to a spider bite. Lumps are forming sporadically underneath his skin all over his body. Some of the bumps have formed into sores. No one has came in to check on him in three hours. There was no one in the waiting room so it is not like it is super busy. The nurses in the ER have a very nasty disposition with an I dont care attitude:. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and quality of care.
Ive had my routine mammogram done at this location before and have had a good experience. The scheduling and admin process is extremely lengthy. I was on hold 10 mins just to schedule an appt. Heard the automated voice operator say at least 6 times your call is very important to us, please hold and someone will be with you shortly. I finally hung up and called back again. Was able to get an agent a little more quickly after I told the operator I just called and was on hold for a lengthy time before she passed me on. Once I got the agent, it took another 10 mins. I had to go through a series of questions and had to provide my physicians name, etc. I get security, but it was like a phone survey before I could even begin to talk about scheduling an appt. Emory needs to find a better way to simplify this process.
I have to give this hospital a five star for the way they attend to their patients. In the last four weeks , I have been in and out of this hospital with one test or the other and have had to deal various specialists like Drs. Tadepalli, Enjeti and Sancheti and nurses and each of these people have been very professional, They explain what is going with you in words you can understand, they do not talk over you but with you! The Radiology staff are awesome and friendly. As they lead you to all these machines, I noticed they all talk to you as they walk side by side with you that means a lot to the patient who is so worried about the test she is about to undergo. Now, Jasmine, the PFT nurse gets my gold star award!! She was kind and patient with me, she listened. Very knowledgeable about her profession but above it all she saw a person across from her not a patient. After my test with her, she took it upon herself to walk me to my next appointment! Wow! Thank you Jasmine, I will remember your kindness. Thank you Dr. Tadepelli for being upfront with me and making it simple and clear.Emory Hospital you sure did due your diligence when you were hiring your staff and volunteers, they rock!
A few days ago, arrived in an ambulance to the emergency room with my elderly grandfather who fell and broke his shoulder. For context, he was 82, had to be on oxygen tanks 24/7 at a very high setting and could barely take a couple of steps before he would be completely exhausted. The staff refused to call the on-call orthopedist to see him and they had no social worker on duty. After waiting for 2 hours for him to get looked at, an emergency room tech put a sling on his arm and then the hospital wanted to send him home. My aunt told them we needed to talk to someone because we didnt have the means to take him home, no exit plan or a way to take him home: with his arm broken he could no longer even go to the bathroom or stand up without someone lifting him up. We had no wheelchair, no oxygen for the ride home. The person that my aunt spoke to responded with sounds to me like thats a social problem, not my problem, even though the hospital had no social worker available to talk to. We felt neglected, we were spoken down to, and started to despair because he was in a lot of pain and there was no solution presented to treat his completely broken bone or for us to even transport him. There was no compassion shown except for one of the doctors that did briefly get to see him, was the only one to show some human warmth and concern. We are all extremely disappointed that a hospital with such a prestigious reputation treated us and my grandfather so poorly, especially when the healthcare field so closely aligns with social situations and with people that are in need of help, care, and human compassion
In progress as we speak recovering from a knee surgery. Everyone on the staff is amazing! Attentive, friendly funny and more! Thanks to Dr. Hall, Lauren, Ted, Lydia, Kristen, OR team, Dr. Muro, Kim and more. Sorry if I forgot your names us I was drugged up. Everyone walked me through all the details I needed, they were prompt answered my call button timeline! You folks rock! I have having my second knee done next year...and yes here at Emory Johns Creek. I highly recommend!
Avoid this hospital please. Especially if you’re going to the ER. The staff is lazy, unprofessional, immature, unorganized, etc. just save your time and go to a different one. The only justification for a one star and not a no star is there was one lady who was very nice.
I suffered a pitbull attack in a customers yard and came to the ER at Emory at Johns creek. The physicians assistant Michael Settle had a fantastic bedside manner and made a very stressful situation seem like not that big a deal. He explained every step and I had zero discomfort. I enjoyed our conversation while I was being stiched up. And when I changed my dressing at home I was very impressed at the stitching and it looks like my scarring will be minimal in spite of how gruesome it had initial looked. I highly recommend this ER for your injuries.
Very unprofessional here, staff do half there job, nobody dont know anything of what the doctors need patience to do. This my husband 2nd knee replacement surgery. The first one wasted on money and time. Doctor claim my husband is to young for full knee replacement and 1 year and half later have have full knee replacement, the 1st surgery was a partial knee surgery! Didnt do no good! Office workers supposed turn paper work in and wait until they ready to turn it in! My husband is the bread winner in our house and cant get short disability because the staff have not turn his paperwork in yet and doctor gave him 29 days to be out of work for a full knee replacement surgery......who in the right mind would right a work order like this? This major surgery
Just got back from the ER there and it was a wonderful experience. I didn’t wait more than ten minutes but that’s not something I factor in. I work in healthcare so I understand what’s happening behind the scenes in an emergency room when a lay person is looking around at a nearly empty room and wondering why they’re waiting. Dr. Barbara Friedman had the best bedside manner and the student NP Nicole who was with her was extremely sweet and caring. So much better care than Gwinnett hospital in Lawrenceville.
Arove at the ER middle of the night. They got me back quick and set me up quick and got me to a room quick due to my low oxygen levels. They ordered scans and tests quickly.staff was so nice! They put me in a great room for it being a hospital. My nurses and techs were the best. Fun to talk to and they let me cry from being there alone for a full week! They made me feel safe and comfortable and went out of their way to show the doctors they know their patients. And their capabilities.Special shout out to Travey and Patricia on surgical floor 4! Also to the pulmonogists and that team! The food could be a little different.I do wished they offers some type of massage therapy due to my pain from being on my back and coughing a lot. My neck and back were really sore and sometimes getting a nice gentle run can take away the Anxiousness of the atmosphere and help patients sleep and not be agitated. That is the only suggestionAlso shout out to their team approach. They all recognize their strengths and weaknesses and dont try to roll over one another. I had the best placing in ivs erc. And they used humor with me when they could. I am so glad to be home. But they deserved the recognition!!!!
I am due to deliver here in June, and already don’t want to. First off came to the hospital they don’t even have signs for the their labor and delivery department, I had to go into the Emergency room to ask where to go. Secondly, I get there and I know that the nurses have to check with the doctors and they are all just on call. But no one saw the significance or pain that I was in. I had been in a car accident where a semi truck hit us in the back and I was still in pain. The in call Doctor (Dr. Simon) had no empathy for anyone and I am a high risk patient. I wish I can switch because I already see how it is going to be when I have to come back in June
UPDATE: The Emergency Department Director, Natasha and the Patient and Family Advocate, Karen had both contacted me today. They expressed their deepest apologizes and assured me that my concerns are being taken very seriously. They also said that the staff would be spoken to. After I finished my conversation with Natasha, my family and I felt much better. The emergency room staff was deplorable! They treated my poor 93 year old grandfather, who has dementia and had fallen, as though he was an inconvenience. He was yelled at repeatedly, and a male employee rolled his eyes and huffed in disgust at him. My grandfather was scared and confused as to why he was there in the first place, but no one bothered to take that into account. The staff only added to his confusion by the way they were speaking to him. The staff also proceed to inform us about how unruly he was being. (Which by their definition, unruly meant that he was trying to get out of bed--not that he was yelling or being violent in any capacity.) Id be unruly too if I was confused and the people that were supposed to be helping me were treating me like garbage. Ive seen convicts treated better than my grandfather was. It sickens me that he was treated with such disrespect. Shame on you!! If you dont like your job, are too overwhelmed, or just dont have the proper bedside manner than GET A NEW PROFESSION! I only hope that those same people never have someone treat them like unruly caged animals when they need help.
Infusion Center @ Winship Cancer Institute @ Johns Creek is run by inept, ill-informed, and incompetent management. Their policy is that no patient or no patient family member can wear gloves (even if its brand new and where the patient is willing to pull out another new glove in front of them) once setting a foot in the front door. They were guarding the hallway doing temperature check and ordered hand sanitizers only on the palm of the hand but not on the glove. When asked for their glove if they dont trust mine, they called the Security Guard after escalating to the Manager. The supervisor didnt even follow 6 ft social distancing and stood less than 2 ft away giving the most illogical explanation: people who wear gloves touch their face and mouth more often than the people who dont wear any gloves. Go figure! Emory @ St Joseph, Clifton Road, Midtown and other places are all good but the one @ Johns Creek always disappoint with their militaristic threats when questioning their policies. This kind of THREATENING Patient Relations skills occurred several years ago as it happened this week. Nothing ever changes. Very sad place. Try to avoid going there as therere ample alternatives nearby.
Emory bill payment department/system is really bad! Emory REALLY needs to improve the bill payment system. I paid Emory multiple bills for child birth and hospital stay, in past couple of months. 7 moths post service, I even received a bill from their collection company. But I never received that specific bill from Emory by itself. I have patient account to Emory healthcare for paying bills online, my balance to the hospital is 0. I asked why you sent my bill to collection, why dont you put on my account or send me a bill. They said thats out of 90 days of non-payment. My credit is always above 750, I always pay my bills on time, I am not a person denying for a payment that I am responsible for. I dont want the collection company to damage my credit. The overall bill payment procedure REALLY needs to improve!!! Dont put it on patients shoulder when you dont receive payment and the only thing you know is to give the bill to a collection company. You have a bill payment department/system that really sucks and thats something you really need to improve. I dont want to deal with collection company because of your bad bill payment system. And also, your customer service is bad, can the people answering the phone have a better attitude?
This is the third operation I have gone through while staying at Emory Hospital at Johns Creek. All of the staff members are outstanding. Ive only encountered positive, caring, informative staff members. I could go on and on with accolades for Emory at Johns Creek.I have lived in several large cities and for whatever reason have had to visit their largest hospital . Nothing compares to Emory Hospital at Johns Creek.
I was having difficulty walking and had terrible neck pain. My wife called 911 and they took me to Gwinnett Medical in Lawrenceville. They have a NP you see in the ER, not a doctor. He told us they dont treat pain and sent us on our way saying to call a pain doctor. Next day I was worse and my wife get me back to Gwinnett Medical. See the same NP. This time he was sarcastic and asked what we were doing back. He got smart with my wife and again sent us off. 3rd day much worse and my wife called 911 again and told them DO NOT TAKE HIM TO GWINNETT MEDICAL. They took me to Emory Johns Creek. Within 30 minutes they knew it was serious. I had MRSA a possibly deadly staph infection. They put me in the ICU where I remained, on a ventilator, for 10 days. My wife and daughter were terrified I wouldnt make it. One doctor told me wife she may have to make a decision to take me off the ventilator if I got worse. Thankfully that didnt happen. After 10 days they moved me to a room where I stayed for 6 weeks! They saved my life. Gwinnett Medical should be sued. If we wouldnt gone to Emory, per the infectious disease doctor, I would have been dead within 24 hours. This is where you want to go when youre in an emergency. Not to GMC where you can only see a nurse, whether a NP or otherwise.
I am really shocked at the lack of responsiveness by this location. My pulmonologist took 18 days to read my CT scan after my primary care physician had referred me to him for double Pheumonia. Once he return my calls after 5 messages left, he spent 5 minutes on the phone to say we might need another CT scan. Left me with no direction as to when, where or even if I need it. I am simply lost for words. I really dont know who to turn to. I feel trapped.
I was taken care by Nurse Kimberley and a Student Nurse Taylor from L & D. They are the best. Taylor even though she is a student, she acted very mature and was very patient through out my journey. However, not so pleased with nurses from Mother and care, the room we got shifted after my labor.
Worst hospital I have ever been to. I had severe pain including chest pains and shortness of breath. Front desk said I had to fill out poets and wait. After waiting for 30 mins they finally took me to triage and then ask me to go back to the waiting area. But! Im in pain I can barely breath and now Im about to pass out , nothing they can do I need to just wait. I faint in the lobby around my small children scaring them so bad. Never ever will I come back to this unorganized place. I could have died an
Dr. Chen and nurse Songia were amazing and did a fantastic job being thorough and with patient care. The time it took us to be checked out was ridiculous. He let us know wed be discharged soon and I believe he completed our paperwork LONG before it was brought to us, I had to go to the nurses station and ask for it.
Standard care is given hereUnfortunately communication is weakest here.Dad’s surgeon (affiliated, but not emory employee) is excellent and his billing dept is reasonable. Surgeon bill done (cheaper anyways)Emory hospital (10x the surgeon bill) - i call them - set up a plan via collection agency for hospital stay.I get 2 collection agency for SAME ACC #, SAME AMOUNT, and same description asking for payment. 1 started within 1 month. Another 4 months after. Such redundancy and poor work. Hospital ancillary staff seems to be contributing reason for overpriced healthcare these days.
Great doctors & staff and customer service. Dr Arciero is an awesome passionate provider who is caring, compassionate, experienced & communicates excellent with patients going through their treatment. Yolanda “Becky” is great at getting patients scheduled quickly especially in serious situations. Dr. Thompson the plastic surgery doctor is also another passionate provider who makes patients feel at ease and knows what’s in the patients best interest. Addie Davis in financial assistance, Yolanda Becky Colquit and Dr. Arciero were also great with getting the financial assistance together when the insurance company dropped the ball they still allowed the patient to come in because of the severity of the situation they offered charity programs for situations like this. The nurses like Anita and Michaela were wonderful they had superior bedside manners and assisted the patient with all her needs. The IV team specializes in what they do and these are all quality healthcare providers in our community who go over and beyond to make sure the patient comes first. I’m so grateful and appreciative of having healthcare professionals like this in our community who help patients get better. These people really care about their patients and it shows to the highest level of healthcare in the community. I haven’t came across a passionate professional provider in quite sometime most of them just want your money and rack up high dollar insurance bills but not this place they’re the BEST in the COMMUNITY BY FAR!!!! I’d highly recommend them to all of my family and friends. They have superior programs for those who are in need of services without insurance and they literally treat everyone the same regardless of patients with excellent benefits or patients with government benefits. Hands down I’d highly recommend their services to anyone and they all come highly recommended this is the BEST Hospital EVER!!!!!! If I could give 10 Stars I would. Thank you so much Emory your team rocks!!! Winship Cancer center is so helpful and one of the best programs out there by far thankyou for helping families get well soon.
.Went here after an automobile accident with our kids. They asked a few questions, poked a bit, but no x-rays were taken that were later needed. The ER was empty but it still took forever to get pain meds. No idea why our visit took a total of 3 hours. Then the billing department applied multiple payments to the wrong patient, resulting in a billing snafu that they apparently cant fix without them writing a check and us re-paying them. I have spent 2 months fighting with their billing department and it is still not resolved. WORST BILLING DEPARTMENT EVER!It may be close to home, but I will drive further next time.
I would never return here for an emergency after two experiences that were incredibly poor. The first was with my husband who had kidney stones and was in so much pain we had to visit in the middle of the night. It took over an hour in an EMPTY ER for a nurse to even start saline or give him anything for the pain and the doctor, who took another hour to show up, came in acting like we were there for Sunday brunch- unsympathetic, uninterested in our problem, and just generally poor bedside manner. Our other experience was when I was having an asthma episode after having recently been diagnosed. Again, despite coming in with shortness of breath, wheezing, and very frightened because it was something new, it took 45 minutes to even get to triage, another hour for some tests to be run, another 2-3 hours to see a doctor who supposedly needed to wait for test results but after receiving a copy I could clearly see the results had come in hours earlier. All in all, we spent nearly 6 hours at the ER for what could have and should have taken less than half the time. And they also lost my blood work. TWICE. Maybe it’s the night staff who is just unmotivated, even on empty nights, but I would rather go anywhere else before coming back here again.
I highly recommend Emory Ortho & Spine ! After a few months of different doctors and my limited insurance, I was referred to Emory. I could barely walk for at least six months. On my first appointment my X-ray showed a cyst, after draining several times, I had an MRI and they found a torn meniscus and arthritis. The staff and Dr.’s were AWSOME!! Dr.’s Hammond & Mahaugon treated me with respect, answered all of my questions and actually took time to make sure I understood everything. Ow I am having spine issues ( drop foot) and will be going back to Emory !! Wish I had years ago !!
Do NOT, i repeat do not go to this ER. The problems and waiting is endless. We had a 7 hr episode here for a 7yr old with a severe stomach flu. 45 mins to get to triage, described everything in clear detail, moved to er room, nurse #2 after 45 mins and RETAKES every detail and dissappears. 1 hr later nurse #3 walks in and RETAKES all details and suggest we give her zofran to stop vomiting and tells us the doctor is too busy so the P.A will check her. 1 hr later she walks back in with a zofran without any PA showing up. My fuse blows off and i explain to her she needs an I.V at this point cause she threw up all zofran since yesterday and have told them 3 times this to get the IV going because she is dehydrated by now. She says..oh i got confused..are you kidding me..an ER nurse would screw up charts? From the PA to the nurses to the check out, you will feel like youre at the DMV..my bad..even the DMV has gotten more efficient...we had to take our child back to ER the next day and we took her to childrens at egleston and night and day difference..they immediately checked her in..get an iv going..3 docs to check on her again and again in 1 hr..avoid this superficially nice but horrendous ER
ER is a joke. No one moves in a hurry. Im not sure what definition they are using for emergency. My mom loves cold weather her house is like a freezer. I asked for blankets because she is freezing. She is still waiting. I used all the sheets in the room to warm her. I guess they will have to wash today. They wanted to give her pain meds great, first you would need to know the ones she is allergic to.
I was in Atlanta visiting when I had a bad seizure I was rushed here 2 this hospital where I stayed for 3 days. I like that fact that they kept a CNA in my room the whole time I was there the nurses was ok wht I have a problem with is the Doctors they did not give me any discharge papers stating why I was there they did a cat scan I did not get the results for that OR even discussed them. I no my seizures I dnt remember anything however I do know Im back in Houston with nunthing to show my doctors.. the nurses was good
The time was 6:33 when I came to the emergency room with my aunt, the time is now 11:54 and we are still here. The staff is nice but omg service must be better. I herd 1 too many sorry for you long wait. It’s been 55 mins since we were told the doctor would be in. The chair are sooo uncomfortable for this kind of wait. I’m sooooo un pleased. I’ve never had an experience like this and I don’t want to ever come back here.
This is absolutely THE WORST ER you can go to, it is like in the horror movies.... they just watch you curl on the floor and walk by like nothing is wrong. I had a extreme burn on my face neck and half of my upper body and it took them almost 3 hours to put some cold gauze on my burn. I asked for cool water for the burn and they said you have to get signed in and admitted to a room before they can give you anything. Absolutely horrible. I actually got billed for a doctor I never saw and when the bill came , I called to my disbelief to find out what doctor I supposedly saw in ER and they didnt want to give me his name. I would rather drive another half an hour to another hospital regardless of any injury then go back to this sorry excuse for a hospital.
By far the worst hospital I have ever been to. Staff very unfriendly. I would recommend any hospital besides Emory. The staff did not seem to care about any of the patients. We then listened to three staff members laughing about two of the patients in the E.R. and speaking very loudly with the door open about my wifes condition. We both stood up and walked out.Emory your staff members are violating HIPA laws. You might want to check that out.I guess not all hospitals can compare to John Hopkins. Step your game up EMORY.
Great Nursing staff and Doctors. Best Service. I had Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Acute Tubular Nicrosis. Im alive due to everyones prayers and the great care and love from the staff and doctors. Dr. Gentin was a great advocate, and went the extra mile for me. Dr. Nass is on top of everything and very caring as well. Dr. Aggarwal is very knowledgeable and great in his specialty. Dr. Musa is a great listener and takes the time to answer and inform you of all you need to know. Dr. Duan wears her heart on her sleeve, and gives you all the TLC needed for recovery. Dr. Daas is great in his specialization as well, and I miss our fun conversations where he kept me up to date on the latest current events. I would like to especially thank Dr. Vivek for taking me on, and you have great surgical hands. I am not able to list all the great Nurses that took the loving care of me. They were my front line of care, and I cant thank them enough.
The team consisting of a doctor, nurse practitioner and nurses who admitted my daughter on January the 8th around 6:30 AM to the ER with covid related complications was exceptional! Everyone showed hard work and the highest level of determination as an individual and as a team to save my daughters life. I dont know their names, but every individual in that team was a highly-qualified professional who can be trusted with our lives. The ICU staff goes above and beyond our expectations. They are doing an amazing job watching and taking care of my daughter.I want to say a huge thanks to these heroes who are doing their everyday job saving our lives in such a difficult time for everyone.
ZERO STARS is the rating they deserve , but you have to give at least 1 to post. I went to the ER @ Johns Creek Emory with my knee in such EXCRUCIATING pain I couldnt walk without crutches. I waited HOURS just to get an X-RAY and a prescription for PAIN. Did I say I was IN PAIN? Oh YES I did . EXCRUCIATING.So after explaining that the X=rays might not show much, I was still hanging in there hoping to at least get some relief from THE PAIN ! So Dougie Houser comes in and gives me a prescription for TYLENOL, and I try to explain to him that they dont do squat, his attitude is TOO BAD. When you go to see an Orthopedic Dr. maybe hell write you a real prescription was his much his response. Go to a REAL Dr to find out what is wrong with your knee, and get something from him/her for the PAIN Made sense to me . Go see a REAL Dr. And so I will and you can believe Ill find a better hospital to go to if ever I need to again. This one is ON my list , and thats NOT a good thing . I only wish I had read the reviews before I decided to go there.Update on review : I called today as instructed to make a follow up appointment with an orthopedic Dr that THEY REFERRED ME TO . and they dont take my insurance plan. Think maybe they could have checked into that ? Knowing my insurance plan , do you think they could have lined me up with a Dr. that could SEE ME ?
One of my friends got tested for COVID-19 here on the 26th of June, told him it would take 24-48 hours to get the results. He’s been calling every single day for results. They keep telling him to wait. He has been out of work since the test. Not only is he at risk of losing his job, but if he does have it, he’s already 10 days into it without treatment. If you need to get tested go anywhere BUT here. Save yourself the trouble.
This is absolutely the worst E.R I have ever been to, unfortunately we had to come in on a Sunday morning we arrived at 7:45 1 person in waiting room we were told no E.R rooms available, its now 2:30 my guy is laying in the waiting room which is freezing and cold and dirty. No ones in a hurry here. He came in with possible stroke side effects, and still no rooms available. Totally unprofessional people working here, with most of their answers I dont know. Please if you can go to any other hospital please do so. Horrific experience and we are still here in the waiting room. Pissed in Johns creek
The emergency room is incompetent and slow in managing life threatening situations. They do not have appropriate procedures or dosage to handle pediatric situations. We went with my son who was having an anaphylactic reaction and the nurse prevented me from giving him an epipen. In retropect, we should have called 911 and have them transport us to Childrens hospital. They are not equipped to manage children.
I gave birth to my baby boy here last week. Overall, it is a great experience! Dr. Chua from Suburban Women’s Specialist is my ob-gym. She is a wonderful doctor who accompany me along the journey from the beginning to welcome my son to the world. She made my delivery a great experience and helped me labor my baby within 30min push. I thought it would take longer time for me who is the first time to give birth. Besides, the nurses here are very nice, especially thank nurse Benela (I am sorry I not sure the name is right or not. She is a very very nice person and can speak Chinese with me which really makes me calm down. She deserves a bonus. Haha), nurse Leigh who teaches me how to push, nurse Janet and nurse Tsion who help and teach me how to take care of my baby boy, and the warm-hearted lactation specialist who teaches to breast feed my baby. Many thanks to all of them. Appreciate they are there with me to welcome my baby.
Facilities Management creates a black eye on Emory Hospital. Absolutely the worst parking for any medical building in the area. They advertise valet parking, although the attendant is missing/non existent. Nice Staff and Doctors... provided you can get into the building. ER is grossly understaffed as well...
Billing Department is disjointed and you hear a lot of, I dont know when it comes to who handles the radiology and physicians billing. When you have a question about a bill (any bill associated with a hospital visit), most hospitals will transfer you to the billing department who primarily deal with the medical bill, but can also, at the very least, provide you with the phone number and name of groups who work with the hospital providing services for other charges. This billing department is completely lost. The billing department told me to call the hospital for that information. Who do you think transferred me to you, Sandy?
I came here for an asthma attack. My inhaler was dry. I sat down for over an hour struggling to breathe. Eventually my lungs started to open up for me to get some air. Once I felt I was better enough to go home I walk straight out of there. They are just horrible in every aspect of the word. Find a better hospital is my suggestion!

2021-11-18Emory Johns Creek Hospital is a friendly, culturally diverse, medical center with various doctors offices, a gift shop (1st floor), a small cafeteria (with a restaurant, microwaves and food shop - lower lobby; basement), an emergency room, a spacious parking lot and an accompanying parking deck (handicapped accessible and valet parking are available). The staff seems friendly.

2022-03-31I am so happy we decided to give birth at this hospital. Our entire experience was AMAZING. All the nurses in both the Labor and Delivery/Mother and Baby Units were so caring and attentive. The rooms are clean, food is tasty, and parking was easy. If you’re lucky enough to get nurse Dorcas in Labor and Delivery you will be blown away by her kindness and attentiveness to your needs. She was our first nurse during our time there and she made sure my husband and I settled in ok and were well taken care of during her whole shift. But make no mistake, all the rest of the nursing staff on both units there are lovely as well!! Thank you all for taking care of us and our new baby boy, we are very grateful!

2022-08-19We had a pretty poor experience delivering at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. The care team effectively forgot to come in and provide my wife an epidural when we had asked multiple times. After delivering, we asked for a lactation specialist because our baby wasnt feeding. They could not provide one after we waited for 24 hours. Our baby was screaming out of hunger, and the staff was very pushy about not giving the baby formula. (She has since had oral surgery and we are debating whether we need to schedule OT for her mouth). The staff did not conduct a hearing test for our baby and had us come back and do one IN THE HOSPITAL ENTRYWAY. They did not want to admit us into a room, presumably because there would be a paper trail of their mistake...My wife went in today for her 6-week checkup and was concerned about a lump in her breast. The Dr refused to look at it and chastised her for pumping instead of breast feeding. As a result, we are taking our healthcare needs to a different hospital/organization.The reason I gave our experience 2 stars vs. 1: a handful of nurses & doctors were genuinely friendly, attentive, and helpful.

2022-06-14One of our best experience in an hospital. I can’t be so grateful to miss Katie for her motherly caring of my wife and her level of encouragement for normal delivery is out of the world and extra ordinary. I had never seen such a person and solely because of her it became a regular delivery despite of the fact that first one was c-section. She showed the techniques how a mom supposed to push and that’s what exactly wife followed. After her shift was over she handed over to next nurse but still she was present there till baby delivered .she too came to meet us in the room on the discharge day.we will definitely remember her till the end of of our life.

2022-09-05Winship cancer center at Emory Johns Creek is just wonderful. The nurses there are super caring and competent. The wait time for blood draw and treatment is not bad, usually it is the waiting to see doctor that can be very very long. That also depends on the time of the day, the earlier the doctors appointment, the shorter the wait time. The longest time we waited for my husbands doctor was a little over an hour! From then on, we pick early morning appointments. The place is under renovation right now, so it is a bit cramped but they still managed to provide good service. Really appreciate all the staff here! It is night and day compared to those at Clifton road, so glad we switched to this location

2022-04-25Went in for an ER visit. Nurses and PA were all kind and attentive. The provided an app where my husband and I could track the steps being taken along the way. It was a long wait (with labs and imaging) but I felt informed along the way. The discharge instructions were very helpful and the following day I was given a call by the physicians office they referred me to.

2022-08-12I used to love Emory hospital. Always recommended my family because of service because they really cared. Let me tell you this time it was TERRIBLE. I will REFUSE to go back there . After almost crashing in the highway with my six year old from shortness of breath and migraines with a blood clot they saw my d dimer was high but when we discarded it wasn’t in my head or chest they basically said we aren’t checking anything else. Doctor came in once everything was through the nurse after a scary experience. Said my primary had to check me for autoimmune disease and that I needed to go because they needed the room!!! Also heard her saying that to another patient as well. Not to mention ten sticks to get an IV in even after putting one and it being wrong… all while in pain! No help for comfort or taking away pain. If you can go anywhere else please do. And if they keep up with no putting their patients first and ensuring this They will get sued one day. TERRIBLE

2022-04-09I just recently delivered my daughter and had to have a c section. The nurses here are sooooo freaking amazing! They made sure i had everything i needed, helped me breastfeed, & supported me through the c section process. I highly recommend this hospital for labor and delivery! S/o to all of the beautiful nurses 😊❤️

2022-04-26This wasnt my first choice for where to deliver, but hospital space was in short supply recently. Couldve been better or worse, I guess. In particular, this is about the mother/baby area. Some of the nurses were nice. No one was abusive in any way. Some were abrasive and critical and cold, however, cultivating a sort of hectic and low-information environment that left us in the dark at times, which... I mean, when you have a baby in the NICU and are recovering from what can tend to be a pretty traumatic event, is the last thing you need. They also condescended to my husband a lot. Hes a part of the experience as well, a solid source of support, and an equal partner in parenting, so all the ignoring him and shutting him down was unwarranted. So, yeah, recovery was a solid C. Thats as high as it is as a testament to the nurses who genuinely seemed to care. The ones who were kind and encouraging and informative and attentive and went above and beyond. There was, to be sure, a fair amount of those. Maybe 70%.My actual birth experience was very nice, though! Was as family centered and peaceful as a surgical birth can be, which makes up for some of our frustration with the in-hospital recovery period.Your mileage may vary.Ultimately, just glad we all came out healthy and safe, so theres not a ton else to say.

2022-07-11I delivered here a few days ago . Overall my experience was great ! Er staff was friendly and quick . I was held on the L&D floor due to mother baby being full , completely understandable . L&D day shift nurses were great for the most part however night shift nurses were very loud at the nurses station , you can hear them discussing patients . All of my doctors were great . I have absolutely no complaints about mother baby . Kelly and Ruth were my nurses , very kind , patient and attentive .
