Do not do business with these people. They will drive you absolutely insane if you’re even one day late on a payment and they will send default letters after your due date. They will blow up your phone even after making arrangements. I have never dealt with such a cutthroat company !!!!If I could have gave them a zero I would have. If you get approved for these people get up and leave the dealership or go with someone else. Their interest-rate’s are out rages and even after you have made your payment on time for a month they will not finance you at a lower rate. I wish I had a read the reviews before we financed with them and I would have never signed on the dotted line
Got an extension and paid the last month due to covid. They repossessed my car this am saying that the extension is there but it wasnt being counted. Over 2000 to get the car out. NEVER FINANCE WITH THIS COMPANY! Being told 5 different things from 5 people and one saying i could get it back today with half. Lying and crooked financing.

This lender has literally stolen money from me and my partner and is using an auto accident to cover it up. They lie through there teeth with a smile while burning you as bad as the can. Don’t trust them.
Honestly, it was SOOOO hard to get ahold of them on the phone. I was super upset. Because I never received my account number in order to make payment or establish an account online. If you are trying to get ahold of them and they dont pick up, make sure you choose the insurance new customer option in order to speak to an actual representative. The lady was helpful, but honestly, at this point I am so upset.
Paid car loan off way in advanced, they refused to send a letter stating the account was paid in full, for weeks after it showed the account was still owed on, then they marked the account as a bankruptcy when it was NOT, then they sent the account into maintenance and could not talk to me for days on days, everytime I asked for a manger, I get hung up on. Just horrible, terribly horrible. And Im still trying to get my account to show paid in full, and still no one will talk to me.
Wish I could leave no stars. This place is completely unprofessional, I’ve been having problems with Honda South & this is the bank that we got the car with & now it’s gotten to the point that It’s going to effect my credit because Honda south told me that the car they gave me that turned out to be a lemon us would be paid off & then gave me another car that they messed up with again. I was told by Exeter that someone would contact me to finish the application for the second car & no one called me & when I ask to speak with them they tell me they’ll call me and don’t. & when I anytime I contact Exeter to see if Honda finally did their job, I get a rude lady that told me I need to speak with Honda when i go over there multiple times a week & call over and over for them to tell me someone will call & they never call & acts like if I’m lying about contacting Honda, when that doesn’t make sense since everyone is dropping the ball & i end up with my credit down the drain. Then I get a call today I missed it because I was at work and they tell me that it was an automated message by a robot, when I’m not stupid it was a person by the name Natalie and she wasn’t a robot . I’ve asked to speak with a manager was told it would get escalated to one and never did contact me. No one wants to contact me from Honda or Exeter but they both expect me to figure out how the wrong car got paid off & to pay for a car that I no longer legally own. And has the nerve to tell me they can’t contact Honda when that’s who they need to fix this with.
DO NOT USE FOR AUTO LOAN, RIP OFF !!!!!! when covid hit, what they offered to help people in need was charge more than 500.00 for 30days of interest , until you were caught up in payments...Crazy but true!! There’s other auto loan company’s that can get you a better rate & approved . very bad business when the company’s last thing they wanna do doing this pandemic is rip people off an put them in deeper debt.
Im going to put my experience on this pile in an attempt of maybe any solution gaining traction. I also called their office and was met with a similar excuse as every other review stated. I will like to add that they asked if I filed for unemployment (which I have and is still pending). At this they said they couldnt do anything until the date my payment was due and even asked if I could beg family or friends for money. This company is one hundred percent run by scammers who deserve every amount of punishment doled out to them.
I got my auto loan through this company I never really had a problem with them until it was time to refinance my car. They wanted to offer me 28.3%... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So I went with another company (8%), but my bank made a mistake and sent them another full payment. I contacted them about the ACH draft mistake, and they told me it would be 30 days until I received a refund. after a MONTH with no refund, I called to find out why. They use another company to do their refunds for them, and they gave that company the WRONG ADDRESS. This company is TRASH, DO NOT USE THEM! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU , VETS, OR ANYBODY ELSE. STRAIGHT TRASH.
If I can only give zero stars. I was paying on a car for over 4 years and only $150 was taken off the principal. Even the CSR at this place couldn’t explain or understand why the payments I made weren’t going towards the principal. I even paid extra every month. This is the worst finance company I have ever dealt with in all my years of financing. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!! PLEASE BEWARE!!!!!!!
I have had nothing but positive experiences with Exeter finance. Every time I call or have an issue they are more than professional and helpful. Especially with COVID-19, they have gone above and beyond to help, adding payments to the end of the loan agreement and working with me ANYWAY possible. I highly recommend them.
Unsolicited calls to my phone over and over. Never heard of them or used them for credit.
**WARNING** Do not FINANCE your car with either Exeter or Santander. They are literally preying on people with bad credit. You will literally pay for the car TWICE over! Ive been paying on my $17000 (25%) car for 4 years and still owe over $13000. Feels like I will never be done with this car ever. I promise u that you will regret financing your car with these people.
My first payment was due in December. I contracted covid 19. And the company i worked for is shut down. The US government ordered all finance companies to stop taking and defer all payments due to the covid 19. I asked for an extension due to this pandemic, I was told that wouldone ok, but dispite them violating Federal orders, and the required deferment issued by the US government they keep persistent in on calling me 4 to 5 times a day. This is the worst finance company ever, they break laws. On top of that I was told my monthly payments would be around 250.00 a month, my monthly payments are 475. For a 2016 Rogue...
EXETER CONSIDERS UBER AND LYFT SEASONAL WORKERS AND WE ARE NOT CREDITABLE WORKERS. I went into Nalley Ford of Sandy Springs and was approved by Exeter Finance to purchase a car. Six days after I signed all paperwork agreeing to pay them 628.47 per month I was told by the dealership that Exeter Finance rescinded the offer because Im self-employed although the 3 months worth of bank statements showed that I could make the monthly payment. And now because of their decision I have no car and have lost contracts and income because of their decision. I would tell anyone to be very careful when dealing with this company, because they dont realize that being in Georgia is a fire at will state and someone with a w-2 job could lose their income quicker than someone who is self-employed. So they need to reconsider some of their policies toward self-employed contractors. I have been self-employed for six years and I have seen my friends go through numerous of w-2 jobs. And yet until this day my income was continuous.
My husband made arrangements to have a payment made. The people he talked to said everything would be fine no worries. Love me some liars and thieves. They had someone come and get my car even after having an agreement made. No surprise when you deal with crooks. Now it is going to cost me $1,200.00 to get my car back.Do not use these crooks. They lie.
I had very low credit due to identity fraud years back. I was thrilled to get my 2014 van financed. Exeter “gave” me a chance. The interest rate was 29%. My payment was $670 monthly. I made my payments on time, than I called and spoke to representative to split my payment $350 and $350 a month. Well they took out $670 and $670 monthly. When asked for it to stop to 1 time $670 it continued on for several more months. My mother fell ill and I had to fly to Germany. I communicated with Exeter that I have made double payments and they please should adjust the payments. Nope. The different people I spoke too each told me something different. I suddenly was 3 months behind. But my double payments never counted as double payments....... 12.41 am they towed my van away. Thank you Exeter. Not Very understanding and over charging , high interest rate company 29% . Beware. I know when you down and no one helps it feels great to get financed!!!! But stay away from Exeter.
Worst company ever. My ex-husband and I got a divorce told this company that I had to get him off the loan. They tell both of us to send a copy of the divorce papers in to their legal department. I called today to see what the verdict was and got told there was no legal department. Just talked to my ex and they transferred him last week to the legal department and he talked with someone but was told to call back after Friday. These people will give you the run around. They tell us one minute they maybe able to drop him from the loan since it was court ordered but then the next they say it isnt possible and not sure why someone would say it might work. Only good thing about them they do work with you on payments.
If I could do less than one star I would. Exeter Finance is the epitome of predatory financing. The interest is compounded daily, and they will not refinance. I was told at the dealership that after one year we would be able to refinance because of my sticker shock on monthly payment, but I can’t and now we are $12k upside down in a loan that is $531 a month at 24% interest. Learn from my lack of research-and don’t be as desperate as we were for financing. 10 months of payments and we owe more than we financed. Do your homework, don’t be like me.
If we could give a ZERO star review we would. Horrible lender HIGHLY recommend you stay away from these people. They will mess up your reports, ridiculous interest rates and HORRIBLE customer service. It is basically non-existent. Stay away from this company at all costs.
On April 26th a checked cleared our bank with a large over payment made to exeter. We were continually lied to and ignored. Even told the check returned and we had evidence it did not. As of May 13th we are owed $27250 and keep being put off. At this point it is negligence and theft!
Purchased car August 2012 its November 2018. Each Rep tell me something different. Ive been told Ive made 65 payments out of 72, Ive bern told Ive made 64 out of 72 and so on. Payment $483... They are saying I owe $8000. When my final payment shouldve been September 29, 2018
These last couple of months have been a struggle trying to keep steady income , my grandparents have an account with Exeter and due to COV-19 . They been out of work . My grandfather spoke with a representative about his account asking can he have an extension or if they was doing anything to help customers whose not working . The representative told him no there’s nothing she couldn’t do , i understand the collection part, but I’m pretty sure there’s more customers that’s going through the same thing
This review is only on the professionalism of the representative I talked with. I had so many questions about payoff amounts, interest rates and how they work. I didnt understand per diem ( per day) at all. She never got frustrated with me and was very patient and kind. Her name is Shanique. Great job. Not only did she take time and explain everything to me ,but she didnt make me feel silly for asking or rushed.
Never missed a payment in 3 years. Ran into some financial issues and called for an extension 2 weeks before my due date. Was told since my account wasnt in late status that I didnt qualify for it and that I still had time to gather the money. What happened to working with a customer?
My spouse financed a truck with Exeter, made payments for a year. Went to renew tag and couldnt because Exeter put a lien on it. So stupid!!! Why would you do that??!!! NEVER EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE WITH ANY OTHER FINANCE COMPANY.WILL NEVER RECOMMEND EXETER TO ANYONE!!!!!
After paying my monthly payment in full within the 10days required I was still charged a late fee. Called and spoke with a representative about this issue and he put me on hold numerous times to “review my account” and acted as if I had no clue what I was talking about and did not provide me with an explanation or resolution for the overcharge issue.
Don’t ever just be one day late with this company they will call you like crazed bill collectors. Also I paid off my entire auto loan in full back in April 2018 and they still six months later have still not sent me my paid in full letter. I keep requesting it again and they say that it has been sent but nothing arrives. So frustrating!!!
If I can give 0 star I would those people are ripping people of if you miss one payment they put it on your credit report they know with the COvid-19 going they still putting ur late payment on your credit report in one word they are thieves.

Interest rates are too high but that is to be expected. I have always had very porsitive interactions with the CSRs at Exeter. Remember that thier job is to deal with people who have trouble or just dont like paying thiier bills. Consider the source when reading these negative reviews. These are good oeople.

High interest rates, they will charge you double for what the car is worth. Please don’t go through this company!! It was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. If you can then I suggest going through a credit union bank, they have much lower rates.
I love being with this company because they work with you financially when you have difficult times. Most of the staff members that I have came in contact with were very professional and helpful. I have been with the company 3 years and really appreciate how they are always willing to assist me during hard times.

2022-04-19They pile on late fees and threaten to put negative standing on loyal customers that OVER PAY on their accounts so if you finance though Exeter please just pay what you owe and move on. Never have I ever missed any payments and now Im 9 days past due from personal reasons and had full intent on paying and overpaying to lessen my bill faster and that was my call i just had, if i dont pay they will add more late fees and put me in a negative standing after financing and overpaying! For the past 3 years. Smh what has this world come to where the compassion and integrity is out the window.

2022-06-10Absolutely horrible lender. Weve had our vehicle for over four years and for three of those years, we couldnt have asked for a better experience. But, now getting close to the end of our loan they constantly mark payments as late even though all payments have been made on time a minimum of a week before the due date. When you call them to fix it they tell you its a problem with their system or tell you tough luck but they can defer the so called late payments to the end of your loan or you can refinance. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! They are steadily ruining our credit with so called late payments.

2022-04-15They are constantly charging the payment options, which creates an issue for people making attempting to make immediate payments. They no longer allow you to pay by phone through the automated system. You have to utilize the E-Check method which takes up to 3 days to process. Its 2022, what are you guys doing.

2022-07-07It’s 8:09 now and I’m ready to make my payment. I’ve called 6 times Friday and today and I’m still getting that they’re call center is closed and to call back during regular buisness hours. 2020-09-27I was naive for working with this finance company. Beware people of extremely high APRs and no chance of refinancing. As a college student who needed a vehicle I was somewhat naive in getting a car from a high end dealership, the car was nice but I had no idea that I would be approved with 26.77 rate, at the time I had no prior knowledge of how that rate would impact my life. >>>I paid every payment on time

2021-01-24I had an automobile loan with Exeter Finance last year and never had a problem with the company. I always paid my monthly amount due on time. Every time I had to call them, the representatives were always very polite and courteous! When I decide to purchase another vehicle, I will definitely consider getting another loan with Exeter Finance!

2021-09-19I’m being charged 28% interest for a $14000 car I put 3500 down I was never told this until I looked at my payment. I’ve only had the car for a month and my payment is due Tuesday, well yesterday I got a letter in the mail saying they can’t finance my car.
