My boyfriend was long over due for an eye exam so we decided to visit Dr. Manan Shahs office in Bethlehelm, GA. Its about an hour from Gainesville where my boyfriend worked but a reasonable commute from the Midtown area if you live ITP. I love how easy it was to find his office. The building is marked well and theres plenty of free parking which is very important for me. I hate parking garages and paid parking lots. The waiting area is split. To your left is the optometry section. Tons of beautiful frames. When I asked, I was told they carry over 500 frames that are all in stock so theres very little to none wait time if you find a set that you like! Dr Shahs office is full service so everything from getting a new pair of glasses to surgery. This includes cataract, glaucoma, eyelid and LASIK surgery. Its definitely a ONE STOP shop here at Eye MD.My boyfriend was serviced by Shelbie. She was extremely professional and made him feel super comfortable throughout the entire eye exam. I definitely recommend Dr. Manan Shah and his team for all of your optometry needs and more.
I went with my daughter, who is 35 and almost blind from diabetes to see Dr.Shah today. She is a single mother on disability and cant drive so I take her everywhere and watch her son my grandson. He is 2 years old and as most people know they can be a little rowdy. My daughter was told by Dr.Shah that the next time she had an appointment not to bring him. She was very upset and just wanted to leave, I had her stay because it is very important. Then the office manager whos name is DAWN came out to tell us we needed to leave with him (the 2 year old). By advisement of her Retinal Specialist she was told to stay and get her pressure readings. Dawn then proceeded to call police on us. So I advise anyone that has children not to go to this place!

2019-11-13Racist establishment. Visit was very rushed and the process wasnt thoroughly explained by staff prior to my first visit. Had no idea you needed to have eyes dilated upon initial visit and wasnt prepared to do so since I drove myself (which wasnt a big deal). Dr Shah was arrogant and seemed irritated whenever I asked about the treatment for my stye. Noticed and observed friendlier treatment toward patients not of color. Never again.***Update*** The response from the owner does not correlate with my experience and is completely false. This is very typical of racism; claiming payment was an issue when that wasnt even a factor or a discussion piece and was blatantly made up. The professional-proper response would have been to call the patient and reconcile; but instead they decided to reference civil rights pioneers and unapologetically shame the patient. This proves my point.

2018-02-05Dr. Shah treats my glaucoma and removed my cataracts. I have complete trust in his knowledge and expertise in Opthalmology. He always has the time to answer my questions and explain things. The office staff are professional but friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Shah for all your eye care needs.

2020-11-18To; All potential patients, I was seen by Dr. Mann I. Shah, MD, PC on 1- 6-20 for my eyes, that was in bad shape am not trying to discredit Dr. Mann as a doctor/surgeon unfortunately his bedside manners are terrible for # 1 I had to go to another eye doctor to only find out I had conjunctivitis this doctor wanted to Dilated my eyes I refused he became angry Dr. Mann I. Shah, stated on his paperwork I had dry eye syndrome, being an ex disable professional I knew better, not to allow him to dilated my eyes that was infected yes the truth hurts however I must warn other patients, sorry to say what hurts me the most he profile me, and he lied saying on his report that I told him that I had MRI reports and had been seen by neurology at Emory;wrong, if anything it would be a neurosurgeon however I did have reports but did not take them with me on my visit to his office that day nonetheless since I didnt allow him to damage my eyes more he dismisses me as a patient which was fine with me however on 11- 16 - 2020 I call his office an apology to his office manager she reinstated that the doctor had dismissed me as a patient I reply fine. Note one thing he did tell the truth about a condition I had, the only thing that I, hate with a passion when doctors lie on patients, and to patients, now keep in mind hes an eye specialist/ surgeon he pulled my HPI which stands for protected health information it could relate to past present or future medical condition / /situation patient take the time to review and always get a copy of your paperwork that is with any doctor what you fill out get back for your records which mean your rights wont be violated this write up is my experience and opinion, maybe next time he will think about his actions and the consequences behind them special note hes probably a great surgeon However, his action said something else just be aware as a patient please do not let my write up keep you from seeing doctor Shah,

2021-05-04I am so disappointed with the patient care from all of the staff here. Thats right, from the front end to the assistant/tech to the Dr. I find them to be very cold as well as rude. This was my 2nd visit and the 2nd time Ive left feeling frustrated and offended. I can never finish a question or sentence without being interrupted. Was told repeatedly that this was a common surgery and they do them all the time. Well, its not common for me and I dont have eye surgery all the time! Also kept getting told someone else will explain but someone else never came around and I still do not have answers to my questions. Im having cataract surgery soon! I guess Dr Google will have to explain things. I suppose the days of having some kind of relationship with your Dr are long gone. I really wish they would be more considerate of patients and their feelings. They may be technically good at their jobs but people skills are horrible. I am disabled and if I had a choice with my insurance I would most certainly change Dr.s

2021-03-04The person he has that does his billing for 2021-2021 has the worst customer service!!! I went there in 2019. The visit with the doctor was fine, but the prices for the glasses were outrageous, so I took my prescription and went elsewhere to purchase glasses. They took my medical and vision insurance. My husband went there in 2020. We received our EOB from medical, but nothing from our vision insurance, and a bill from them. As we kept looking at the bills, we noticed there was never anything on the bill regarding payment from our vision insurance. Every time we received a bill, my husband called about not seeing the payment from the vision insurance on the bill. All she kept telling him is that vision insurance is for an eye exam for glasses. He kept telling her yes, I had and eye exam for glasses as well as the other tests. Today she called about the bill. I asked her if she had received payment from the vision insurance yet. She told me that vision insurance is for an eye exam for glasses and he did not have an eye exam. Huh?? He had an eye exam..its on their bill. She explained that they dont take vision insurance only medical insurance and a few other things. I asked her a question and before i could get it out, she talked over me, repeating that they dont take vision insurance. After being interrupted by her three times, I finally told her I understand you are frustrated and deal with patients all day. Please let me ask my questions since when you spoke listened (which is why I have questions). Once Im done, we can have a dialogue. The moment I spoke again she interrupted me! I told her it appears from the conversation that you have not and will not file with the vision insurance. I will file with my vision insurance myself. When I receive the EOB from them regarding what they paid, I will now know what I need to pay. I told her we will never come back there. Not because of the doctor, but because of months of dealing with this lady!!!

2015-10-05My husband.and I have been going to Dr. Shah for several years. He is a wonderful md. He is patient and kind to us. He has done surgery on both of us and is always very careful of our care before and after. His office staff are the most pleasant people I have ever encountered in a doctors office. He is wonderful.

2016-12-26This is a top notch facility with a nice and friendly staff. Dr Shah was very kind and explained everything throughly. They even had a optician on site (Ms. Judy) who was really sweet. I found some really nice glasses less expensive than wal mart. The office was clean and very modern. Ill definitely will refer friends and family.
