This was not a hotel that I booked, or paid for, so unfortunately I didnt have a say in the choice of hotels. The customer service was great!, however the room needed some work! We had what they consider a suite which was really just a handicapped accessible room. The pullout couch was stained, and the mattress was disgusting, so disgusting that I decided to share a bed with my sister in law, yes! Another grown woman. The shower was a small tight space, with very low water pressure, & a stained floor, which you definitely couldnt skip wearing shower shoes! I thought Fairfield was a subsidiary of the Marriott, which at 1 time was considered luxury. I guess not amymore!
This hotel was fantastic. The staff at check in were great-super friendly and relatable. There was plenty of parking available. The property was very easy to navigate and it was quiet. We didn’t hear any noise from the hallway or the rooms around us, or the roads nearby at all. Super easy to find and plenty of places around. Amazing Mexican restaurant just past 85, good place in the parking lot. You can’t go wrong staying here.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location, very close to alot of businesses and accessible to highways. Due to the pandemic some services have been suspended and it somewhat impacted my stay. I did not see these changes on the website and did not find out until we checked in. There are VERY limited options for breakfast. Daily maid services have been suspended and appointments must be made to utilize the pool and fitness room. Overall, it was a decent stay; however, guests should not be charged full price when they cant enjoy all the amenities/services offered.
Since we last stayed here six months ago, some things are better, some the same, and some worse. Masks are no longer required, WiFi is now functioning, and breakfast is back. Daily housekeeping is still missing. We had to ask the front desk for new towels, Kleenex, trash removal, etc. Sadly even though breakfast is back, they were out of most everything.
I came here with family after a horrible experience elsewhere. Although the rooms were cleaned the sheets were fresh- the first thing I saw was a very large bug on the wall by the bed and window. The phones provided in the hotel did not work and when I called the lobby they didnt have a manager on site to handle the issue. I was provided an email to report this problem to but havent heard back from them yet.-Room 304
Meets all expectations of Marriott quality. Clean and well maintained room. Always a warm greeting and a smile upon entering the hotel. Not only does this make me feel appreciated, but gives me a sense of security that they are monitoring who enters the hotel. This is my second stay at this hotel and I am sure to choose it again on my next trip to Duluth. Thank you.
When I made the reservation for 2 rooms I indicated 8 guest total. I arrived at 4:30 pm and one of my rooms was not clean so I opted for another room on a different floor. As I am rolling in my cart by the door half my items tipped over on the ground. I cleaned them up and loaded back on the cart. As I struggled through the door I look up and notice three employees standing at the desk just staring at me. As I proceed with my goodies to the room, the front desk tells me ma’am we don’t allow parties. No one is having a party. My family and two friends are staying over for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. My daughter wanted it at a hotel so she can swim and i hired a girl to do their manicures. Instead of offering help they decide just to stare and tell me what I can’t do. After I set up the rooms with drinks and snacks I went and picked up the family. With our hands full as we walk through the empty lobby to the elevator we are harassed about mask. I thought if you were vaccinated you don’t have to wear a mask… we put them on, but the point being, it has not been pleasant and it’s not even been 12 hours. No maid service, grab and go breakfast 7-9. For the price I should have went to embassy. Rates tonight are 50 cheaper then what I paid. Nice studio, King eco very small. Not enough towels in room. If you put 5 guest you should get 5 towels. If you put 3, you should get 3. What’s the point of me telling you if your not going to accommodate me. Hope it gets better, and I don’t have any further issues with the pushy staff.
The stay from even before getting there were amazing. I booked a total of 4 rooms and I had and we had another 4 rooms booked by friends and family. Nobody had any issues checking in. The rooms were spacious and clean including the bathroom. Definitely recommend 100%. Breakfast was good as well.
We stay at a lot of Fairfield , this Fairfield was a good location, offered free parking & was a good price. Marriott advises a no mask policy on the website and Atlanta Georgia is no mask, but this Fairfield requires masks, hasnt started a real breakfast yet, many others have & requires an appointment to use the fitness center! Are you kidding me?So we go to our room, actually nicely appointed, furniture in good condition & its clean and in good working order.I go out to the car, and cant get in the parking lot door ... the entrance lock is broken. (Its not my key)The Ice machine on he first floor is Out of order, please use the ice machine on the second floor.Guess what! Two elevators and one is Out of order .... waiting to get ice ... I wouldnt choose this location again. It looks like they arent fixing things and are delaying the return of a normal breakfast all to save money & the guests suffer.
The location is in a great busy area with plenty of restaurants and stores around. My stay was amazing after I resanitized my room. The elevators should be cleaned more than every 2-3 days it should be hourly or something due to the pandemic. Staff was great and very attentive
My boyfriend and I had to work all week and my birthday fell on a week day so what better way to celebrate with the weekend in the ATL. Our stay here was wonderful, from the cozy soft bed to the beautiful bathroom. Going out seeing the city was amazing but coming back to a nice quiet hotel was what we needed. We had a blast this weekend and cant wait to come back!
Certain members of the staff are rather rude and discriminatory. My particular room was outdated and had a slight smell in the carpet. 3 different types of wall paper and just a poor experience all together. I stayed here for the location since it had more than enough amenities within walking distance but I shouldve stayed at the Holiday Inn Express behind it! Im in the area for work and started working in early in the morning and wasnt able to have a peaceful night of sleep in all 4 nights of my stay.
Room met expectations for Marriott property. Room and common areas were clean. Outlet at coffee station did not work. Had to move coffee maker to bathroom. Lacking modern amenities such as USB charging ports. Display backlight on clock didn’t work. Desk leg was bent causing it to rock. Minor issues. Overall comfortable stay.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We stayed for 5 nights and no service what’s so ever. We had to get our own towels every morning and no one came to pick up our towels. We literally had a huge pile of towels and a huge bags of trash that the staff refused to pick up. It was the worst experience ever and the cost is high. It was truly sad how we were treated. I will never be staying at a Marriott ever!!
Excellent part of town. Pool was open but if your not swimming then it is very muggy. The hotel front seemed confused when I checked in and couldnt get it right initially as I always check in ahead of time including payment by setting up the reservation far in advance for reasons to speed up the process. Nonetheless, they insisted that I needed to pay. I already did. They ran my card anyway and I got charged a $1 and my bank assumed fraud and suspended my card. It got fixed after I contacted them and explained everything. Please educate them. Also the WiFi to our room didnt work and though they sent up a repair man it didnt fix the issue. Leaving on a happy note. The entire hotel staff is very friendly and does treat their customers well.
The beds were stiff. And the toilet was 2 inches from the wall so you couldnt sit on it straight and the toilet paper holder was mounted right on the toilet. There was no quite hours set to people were partying all night. I was here for business. The only nice that happened was the kindness of this old white lady that got the food out in the mornings.
The staff was friendly and the lobby was clean but that was about it. We were given a handicap room (despite not needing one), which made a few things odd for us (since no one in my party is in a wheelchair). The desks were too low to get a chair under, so neither me nor my kids could actually USE the desks, and the shower was narrow (and moldy), and there was ONLY a shower (I have young kids who dont shower, and need an actual bathtub (which there wasnt). The sleeper sofa was wedged against the wall A/C unit, and my husband had to LITERALLY move the furniture in order to pull out the bed. Also, the stuffing of the mattress on the sleeper sofa was spilling out the side of the mattress and the springs were poking through the mattress. And the queen beds were disfigured. I cant describe it any other way than it looks like an invisible elephant is sitting on the edge of the bed...like the mattress is melting off the side of the bed. I felt like I was sleeping with my head below my feet, and that I was going to slide off the side of the bed. It was the worse sleeping experience Ive ever had at a hotel. We chose this brand because of the consistent, reliable quality of the rooms and service weve experienced in the past. This was so off-putting we would reconsider using Fairfield Inn for our future vacations.
For the price and 3 stars hotel, cant ask for more. If you use to fancy 4stars or mre premium hotel then this will not satisfied you. Pool is small and very hot and humid in the room to swim. Carpet in the room looks old. Cheap fast breakfast, no hot fresh egg, biscuit etc. Room was little humid. Recommend to keep ac on even when vacant.
Overall the stay was okay. The maintenance & upkeep needs to be a bit better. The elevators have sour odor from the carpet being wet all the time. Also the ice machine was broken on the fifth floor. The housekeeping staff is apparently not going into rooms due to covid. But this would have been nice to know from the front desk rather than finding out two days after our stay when our rooms weren’t touched.
I would not stay at this location again. They dont have room service. The rooms are only clean at check in. The carpet smells really bad. Bus loads of people stop daily until they had to put up a sign on the door no more available rooms I did not feel safe at this location. They run out of wash clothes on my first day. I had to keep going back to the front desk because they have no room service. I did not use the pool because no one service it. Again I was told they only have room service once a week to do full cleaning. The garbage pile up next to the ice box. Bugs were just flying around.
We were anticipating an evening in the heated indoor pool only to find it was closed due to covid. No big deal, except that the website didnt mention it was closed and our kids were super disappointed. The room was nice and comfortable. The wallpaper around the toilet is bleached stained and needs to not be wallpaper to avoid that nasty look. The room was comfy for a family of six.
Stayed here May 7, 2021. Not terrible, but wouldnt stay here again. Poorly maintained property and room. The best they could do for breakfast was essentially a rubber microwaved sausage biscuit. Wall thermostat have a permanent out of order sticker. Shower liner wasnt even long enough to touch the tub! Mold growing around the tub. Shower mat had been rolled up wet and left that way for days so it had mold as well. Disgusting.
They charge all that money for these rooms them say a hot breakfast free nothing was hot except for the cooling pan they had the remade waffles in plastic n the Turkey cheese n egg sandwich’s so many people were complaining, keys kept deprogramming really the worst hotel me n my family every stayed I work for radio and I can’t wait to talk about this fake hot breakfast bar they claim to have i give this hotel 10 thumbs down
Quiet, clean room and comfortable bed. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again when I’m in the area. I do have to take off a few points for a few minor issues I experienced; however, life is very different in these COVID times and I believe that my expectations of a Marriott property would’ve been fully met in usual and normal conditions.
My partner and I needed a quick find that allowed us to lay our heads for our busy days ahead. The staff was helpful but a bit aggressive. Our room smelled like wet carpet, our phone in our room did not work, we had to travel all the way to the lobby to receive fresh towels and cloths and the cleaning service is scheduled to come every 3 days... imagine that. To top it they offered bag lunches with no fresh or hot food. I give the overall stay a 5 there were no perks only things you try to look past.
The room we stayed in was very dirty. This is not a 4 out of 5 star hotel. On the floor next to the bed, there were many nails clipped from a previous customer. The sheets looked like they were not washed properly, and had stains and hair in it. The floors and chairs were very dusty. There was a paintbrush on the floor underneath the counter from a previous customer. Out of the many outlets in the room, only 2 worked. The dryer in the bathroom did not work. We did not end up staying the night here.
The purpose of my stay was to get out of the house and work remotely. The internet went down during the 2nd day of my stay and no one at the hotel seemed the least bit concerned with the issue and left me to find a resolution. When I informed the front desk the guest internet was down the response was “we know and it’s not on our end, it’s the internet provider.” I was then given a number to call and see if I could get the rep for the internet provider to help me. I can understand if I were in my home that I would need to contact my internet provider but for the hotel to have guest internet down and leave it up to guests for resolution is ridiculous and certainly isn’t a great example of customer service. To compound the issue, when I asked for assistance locating a sister property or other Marriott hotel, I was given the number to reservations. I’ve been loyal to Marriott for many years and never have I encountered such a poor level of customer service. Ultimately the internet provider wasn’t able to resolve the issue, I checked out and located another property nearby that had functioning internet and an available room. The property was clean which is a plus but the level of service received from all employees I interacted with was unsatisfactory and should be addressed.
This is the worst hotel to stay in duluth the costumer service front desk . aim an ambassador elite member I travel for business and I need to check inn to hotels earlier sometimes for meetings . this hotel is very hard to get check inn earlier so if you need a hotel for earlier arrival you have to call the hotel first and talk to the manager go make sure they can check inn earlier and if you cancel they will charge you no show up fee even if they don’t have your room ready .this is a very hard to deal hotel so my personal advice look somewhere else and save your self a headache
The front exterior is well kept, however, upon going out back, the fabric seats were moldy and filthy. There were a few tables out back which looked to have been neglected since the prior year. **There was no sign on the door to keep you from going outside but once out there, our key card did not allow us re-entry. Fortunately, there was a guest at the coffee station that heard us knocking and let us in. Breakfast consisted of a “grab and go” (understandably during COVID) of very unripe, almost green, oranges, there was literally 1 muffin and 2 cartons of oatmeal to choose from. I was lucky enough to get about a half cup of coffee and then it was empty. Our room was very well appointed but the bathroom sink was extremely slow to drain. The staff was okay although I felt that the issue with the 3 guests that were complaining about not receiving the requested towels, toilet tissue and other issues, could have been handled better by the staff.Aside from the slow draining sink, our stay was, for the most part, pleasant.
Positive: The location was pretty decent Negative: The room was definitely not clean. Being we are still in the middle of a pandemic, you¿d think they would clean better. In the bathroom there was previous patrons soap left in the shower. So that tells me that the bathroom wasn¿t cleaned properly.
The hotel itself is beautiful. Very clean, and the room is big and nice. The costumer service at the front desk is horrible. They speak to you with such attitudes, eye rolls, and smirks under their breath. They charge 40 dollars a night for so called incidentals which is totally ridiculous. Then tell you if all is well it goes back on your card within 5-7 business days. I will never stay here again. They are as super rude which surprised me since we drove all the way from Wisconsin and had heard about southern hospitality. Well thats a joke!
From the start i knew it was going to be bad but being discriminated when walking in was just the beginning. The rooms are dirty, the wallpaper was peeling and even parts of it fell onto the bed. The carpets and blankets were throughly stained and even the sink was clogged with hair. Lies about the breakfast - it will be a brown bag unlike most hotels i have been staying at that are back to normal there too. Just an awful place with rude and discriminating staff.
Fairfield inn suites Marriott is the most professional establishment with the best staff and it made me feel at home. My kids love your hotel so much it’s the only place they want to stay when in Georgia. Thank you all for being the best and I hope you all continue to evolve and make more changes to enhance the business and grow bigger and bigger.
Most of the front staff were great. (Although several of the men did not wear their masks throughout my stay). On several occasions I smelled marijuana in the elevators and hallways. I had a couple things go missing in my hotel room, including an expensive rain jacket and a dog toy for my service dog. On several occasions the maid service did not replace my towels or redo my bed on the day service was done. On one occasion, I found my door unlocked from the maid service after I came home at night (luckily nothing was stolen). Again, most of the front staff were great. But having things go missing in my room and finding my room unlocked means I likely wont stay again.
Rooms are decent, Staff and Management is not! Got harassed over multiple days about a mask. I informed them I am vaccinated. They said it did not matter it was their policy to wear a mask anyway! I informed that is contrary to Marriott, the state of Georgia, and the town Duluth. They said they did not care what Marriott said and they make their own rules! They also tried to say the city requires it! They do not as per their website. The city only requires it for dealings with the city government. Thought it was resolved after calling Marriott Elite line who mediated the situation and said they can not require this. Upon check out, I got harassed again! Also, they are still hiding behind the virus to not serve normal breakfast or attend to rooms for cleaning (unless something specific asked). They had no problem accepting all of my money though!
The staff all have some type of an attitude. Apparently customers are annoying to them. No one is ever at the front desk and when there is they greet you with great annoyance. The sheets won’t get changed out even if you ask. The walls are dirty. The rugs smells. The bathroom grout is stained and dirty.
Mold was in my shower and the staff were nonchalant about correcting the issue. Finally got a room change and an upgraded room to resolve the issue. Had to move all of my things after coming in from work. Really inconvenienced me but it is what it is.I would just like my service to match the money that I spend with Marriot. I cant short what I owe at the end of stay when my balance is due and I would just like for my service and hospitality to match that.
I did not stay at this hotel and I wont. I called to reserve rooms for a wrestling team. Yes team, so multiple rooms and the GM was who I spoke to. She was so rude both times I spoke to her and acted like I was putting her out by asking questions. I decided she obviously did not want our business. I called next door at the Holiday Inn and was given everything I had requested in the very 1st call. It took 10 minutes and they were extremely friendly. My advice is to stay right next door at the Holiday Inn and Suites.
Most of the front desk staff were friendly welcoming professional and greeted us. Good parking and entrance/exit available. The gym equipment was utilized. The pool was nice, breakfast was good and the lobby area looks appealing. The room was good. It was clean and smelled good. Overall I would recommend the hotel.
READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING. Honest review. Giving it a one star for several reasons (overall customer service, broken/missing amenities, and poor resolution on the part of the management and staff). First, the staff was incredibly rude and overall, just inhospitable. One employee in particular was very rude to me in the lobby and treated me like a pest rather than a guest, when I was simply throwing away a cup of coffee. Second, the TV internet access to streaming services did not work at all and produced a network error response when attempted. The wifi also had several issues and I was unable to connect any of my devices (iPhone, MacBook). It was not much of a problem with my phone (can use cellular) but the inability to access the internet through a computer makes any type of business or serious work impossible. For a hotel that prides itself on service (the Fairfield Promise) this is unacceptable. So, I reached out to the front desk and notified them of the issues I was experiencing. They promptly transferred me off to the internet provider who kept me on hold for hours and then was unable to find a resolution. I called the front desk back and told them of this and they promptly said Ill call you right back. Over an hour later and late at night as we are headed to bed, I receive the call back. The issues were ultimately never resolved and my experience was not even close to the standards they promote. I travel frequently for work and business and have never had a stay so ineptly and incompetently handled by a hotel that claims so much (Just let us know and well make it right.) It is one thing for a motel to have bad service and another for a Marriott hotel to perform so poorly. Not worth the money or the time. Dont stay here unless all you need is a bed and you have money to throw away.
We arrived on the 27th. Pretty decent hotel. U have to make a reservation to swim and use the weight room and u can only use it for 45min.We also called the front desk a lil after 5p because our ironing board would not raise all the way up to iron and would not go back down. The desk never answered. We tried calling again the morning of check out still no answer. We went to the desk to let the lady know about the ironing board so they wouldnt assume we broke it. But she basically pushed us out the door by just saying thank you for staying with us and went to fixing breakfast bags for other guest. I tried calling the hotel an hour later because I figured she would be entirely too busy after checking out @10/11a and still got no answer. Which is the reason for this review. Maybe 2 ppl need to be at the desk to be available for guest.
Sabrina was awesome with checking me in! I truly appreciate the patience when checking me in! This hotel had a lot going on- however, she managed to get everything done for me and exceed my expectations. So thanks Sabrina. And thank you to the other worker that worked with you to help me get everything sorted out. I will recommend this location to my colleagues at the Architect Firm.
It may have changed a lot about services after the pandemics. I did not see smiles that I was used to when walked in the front desk.. I hardly see anyone at the front desk and always endup calling for help. And breakfast was a joke. Hardly has anything breakfast meal item except orange juice and coffee. And room does not have usb outlet that odd.
We needed a break from the construction work being done on our home - the paint fumes, the hammering, moving from room to room! Wed had to cancel our vacation because of the gas situation. Friday a.m we decided for our own health status we needed a break! We wanted to get away but still be close enough to home to check in! Despite being filled up almost, Natasha, who made our reservations went above and beyond to make it happen! Very personable and customer service oriented. Will stay there again if the need arises, and other Fairfields based on experience at this one! This location is so close to so many restaurants! The first night we just walked across the parking lot to eat at Bahama Breeze, second night found a great Korean BBQ restaurant, and the hotels breakfast had lots of offerings!
I wish I could have one good thing to say about my stay but I dont! Hotel staff seriously needs to learn customer service! Front desk staff completely unhelpful and unprofessional! Even the GM has no customer service! I really regret spending a dime to stay at this hotel! If If The pool was closed the gym was closed! Why advertise those things if it is not accessible. The cleaning lady was also very rude and unprofessional she thought I did not understand her because she was speaking in Spanish but I also speak Spanish and I understood her every word! I unfortunately forgot my charger after my stay and called to see if it had been turned in and of course I received no call back! I had to call back the following day just to know nothing was heard about my $50 charger! The whole 3 day stay was disappointing from check in until check out! The only reason I was even there was because of repairs in my apartment due to a fire and this is the service I get!? WOW! Disappointing I will never stay there again and nor do I even recommend this place to my worst enemy!! Definitely nothing Marriott like about this hotel at all!! Next time I know to look elsewhere!
The room was not ready when i got there at 5pm. I waited for 30 more minute to get it ready. And the staff was so rude, she gave me an attitude when it was not my fault. Also the room was not actually ready, there was only one towel set when i made a reservation for 4 people. She pushed me to decide whether i would stay or not. And when i asked her about refund, she said it is about me and expedia, not with the hotel which we all know expedia would not refund for the last minute.
Horrible stay. Bed was broken in room and mold growing inside of ice machine. Customer service from front desk was extremely pathetic and rude. Management needs to rehire people who are grateful for their opportunities. Front desk down talking about customers they interacted with like they were less than people. what is supposed to be a professional environment it was more like a gossip and slanderous television show. Ugggh just overall yucky people with disturbed mentalities. Very ghetto and undesirable place to stay. Charges us $25.00 for incidentals in a handicap room. Hopefully they change management soon this place is going downhill.
I checked late in the evening. After I showered and unpacked, the TV did not work. I explained this to the front counter. They replied why didnt you tell us. I explained that it has happened at other places es and they had me change rooms. I didnt feel like packing and moving to another room. She said that kids plug in their games and sometimes the tv needs to be reset. If you know this happens, why does house keeping not check this when they are cleaning the room. 2 stars for poor management.
When i booked with Fairfield I thought it would be really nice as was my experience in the past. Sitting in the lobby with all my luggage after driving six hours, waiting for my 3 rooms to be ready that should have been ready at 3pm but weren’t ready until after 6pm. Just unacceptable.
This is one of my favorite hotels. Very clean. They enforce social distancing and infection prevention measures. I felt safe because the front doors are kept locked you have to be allowed in by front desk or use your room key. So not just anyone can get in. The Netflix and YouTube access on the TV is huge plus for me.
When I came to the front desk I was greeted by Mel!! She was super friendly and helped me. I booked my room through booking.com and my amount was more than what I was told through my reservation. She helped me understand things better and I was able to get my room. Will definitely be back.
Lets just say stay at Hiltons avoid this hotel. First they advertise breakfast Buffet one of the reasons why we picked this Hotel. This way we would not have to dive anywhere to eat. The TV showed omelettes and bacon. We Get down to the lobby and all they have is cereal and frozen sandwichs. The older lady working the breakfast lounge said she had a fever and was not Feeling Well!!!!the hotel did not have extra pillows for the pull out bed. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 4 miles and stay at an embassy suites. Dont pay the extra money for his location
After driving 12 hrs from Florida with an infant all my family wanted to do was rest and relax. Went to check in and couldn’t get two words out when the lady at the front desk very rudely say she couldn’t do anything because it was too late. Despite me already having a reservation weeks in advance.. told me to wait till her audit was finished. Walked back to my vehicle to wait .. not two minutes later she comes out saying”ohh I forgot to ask if you had a reservation” . Well how would you know if I couldn’t even get a word out. So right at the beginning a bad start to our stay.. The next day my wife went down to ask for some towels and toilet paper, and the lady at the front desk(different than the one in the morning) was extremely rude to her as well . Needles to say will never stay at this Fairfield ever again.
My party and I greatly enjoyed our stay on the night of March 24th. We arrived earlier than our estimated arrival time and were attended to right away. The lovely young woman who was working (I’m sorry I don’t remember here her name but she worked the morning shift on bothe Saturday and Sunday this past weekend!) was extremely friendly and helpful.I used my Marriott Rewards points for two rooms and was very pleased by both the size and cleanliness of the rooms. And although the hotel seemed very busy, it was never loud or crowded feeling. I felt like I was getting a very good deal for my points!I also enjoyed the breakfast. There were great options for vegans: fresh fruit, oatmeal, bagels and even Soy milk for my coffee creamer. I was very impressed. I usually struggle with continental breakfasts.Overall, I’m very happy with my stay and would be happy to stay again next time I’m in the Atlanta area!
Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Stay for two days on June 28 till 29. The AC makes too much noise, so I couldn’t sleep the whole night. When I talk to the front desk, and they said that they will fix the AC but It doesn’t help, so I been awake the whole night for two days. Also the front desk was not nice too, when I asked the price after they charged my credit card. The rate of my room was $99 but charged on my card was 140, and I just want to figure out the price, so I called the front desk, but it was terrible , the person answered the phone was not friendly and raised her voice with no patience. Anyway I won’t book that hotel anymore, I am sure there is better hotels for this price and why shall I pay for a hardship.
Their hotel was very nice from the staff all the way to the room itself. Everyone was friendly and spoke at all times even late at night. When I walked in the room, I immediately knew this would be a good stay. The room smelled so fresh and clean which I am very big on. Also, there was no dirt to be found anywhere and the furniture was in great shape. The fitness center was very nice as well. The breakfast could be a little better, but for the price it’s good. There are plenty of places to eat nearby anyway. I would recommend this hotel for sure!
Pretty nice hotel with lots of good things to do around the vicinity. The hotel itself was comfortable, with nice rooms and comfy beds. The complementary breakfast was nothing to complain about, it was great, varied and flavorful. The indoor pool was my favorite because I had the chance of enjoying a nice relaxing swim in a heated pool while it was 50 degrees outside. All in all, a good affordable choice.
This hotel has everything you can ask for, indoor pool, fitness room, comfortable lobby with fax and printing capabilities. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows. There is a desk nook with an executive desk chair, and free WiFi. The shower stall was huge with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is infused, complimentary water in the lobby. The complimentary breakfasts are delicious with lots of choices. The staff was friendly and helpful.
This is more likely on the low end of the Marriott brand. This hotel need updated. The location is great. Close to highway mall dining everything is in short distance. The rooms was a drag reminded me of a cheap hotel. The staff clean crew was the best part and they don’t normally get the credit. The guy in the elevator cleaning the railing was very polite and friendly. The front rep needed to be more pleasant and welcoming.
Hallways were super humid elevator floors looked like someone was murdered and never cleaned. They have the ac in the rooms set so that when you push the buttons it looks like it will get cooler but has a governor on it rooms were not cool. Also has an odd smell. Expensive for what it is.
I did not stay here. I actually delivered food here and blew a tire right outside the hotel. I needed a phone, (dont ask). The lady at the desk was quite rude. So much in fact, I just went to the Holiday Inn next door to use their phone AND ended up staying. The guy (Holiday Inn) at the desk was ultra helpful.
The front desk manager was not properly wearing a mask at the time of check. She also assigned me a room that was not yet ready. She was not readily available when I immediately returned to the lobby. She ignored several rings at the door bell and several phone calls to the lobby so I could address the room change. The television remote only worked for one of the two televisions in the room. Most of the hotel smelled like mildew.
Staff, lady upfront, was passive-aggressive and showed favoritism to males. The side door did not work, internet on tv did not work. Since restaurants, including buffets, are open, they still adhere to breakfast to go breakfast, which was awful; oranges, muffins, and cereal. Dont waste your time or your money. Pool is small and nasty.
Room is spacious, has large desk space. Small mini fridge and microwave. So far we keep missing breakfast and housekeeping seems to start around 8:30 in surrounding rooms. The bath tub is mega slippery and small and only gets very warm. The pool was out of order and 1 elevator was out of order when we first arrived but by next day they were up and running.
Most of the front desk staff were friendly welcoming professional and greeted us. The gym equipment was utilized. The pool was nice, breakfast was good and the lobby area looks appealing. The room was good. It was clean and smelled good. Overall I would recommend the hotel.
The hotel was clean and people were nice. Easy to talk to and accommodating. However, I did not like the bed and after sleeping on it for 3 days, my back was hurting. Also, in a room of 2 beds that sleep 4 people easy, house keeping only put 2 towels which made it very troublesome to ask for towel every day. I did not like that. Breakfast was good but lacks options. Overall, I enjoy my stay and it was worth the money. Surrounding the hotel I had no problem finding food or shopping. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area.
Not only did check in take an hour and a half, but the two cleaners that were working were slow due to being overworked. The front desk worker was alone with no other staff available or answering her calls for help. She had to deal with angry customers alone and all she did was come to work and do her job. The rooms were not fully clean due to rushing.
A beautiful new hotel...clean and spacious. I was upgraded to a king suite. Love the layout of the room, two tvs, comfortable beds and pillows, extra nice bathroom with a huge shower. Coffee pot in the room was the smallest in the world but it actually made a pretty good cup of coffee. I missed breakfast because I was sleeping so well I slept through. This hotel is so quite even though many other guests. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay.
I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is very clean with friendly staff. My room was 100% clean. Its located in a good area, around plenty of shops and restaurants. You get access to an indoor pool, small gym, and morning breakfast. Also, you can watch Netflix, YouTube, and other good movie channels on TV. I would book here, again and recommend to others.
It was horrible. When I got ready to check into the location it took me over 2hrs to check in. The receptionist stated that she was the only one there and didn’t have any help. She also advised me and a few more people that our stay would be free however upon check out it wasn’t free...the manager Natasha wouldn’t honor it and only took 25.00 off of my stay...the room wasn’t clean and it wasn’t worth the stay. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I should’ve just went to the next hotel next door
Hotel was nice and the counter staff (she) was even nicer! The bedroom business suite on the top floor was plenty of space and was well kept. The business complimentary buffet on the top floor was also fantastic. The restaurant in the hotel was not worth it. Had the steak with 2 sides (I decided to splurge on myself, so I ordered the most expensive item on the menu) and it was horrible and a waste of money! Restaurant staff was not so good either. BUT, the Jamaican restaurant across the parking lot has HANDS DOWN the best Caribbean Jerk Chicken plate I’ve ever tasted and I’ve been the the Caribbean’s many times! Highly recommend both hotel and Jamaican restaurant only!!!
First experience in this hotel. Costumer services was adequate; however I would improve several things. First of all, there is limited parking during the weekend due to the restaurant near by. Second of all, even though the room was decorated nicely, it had an odor of humidity. The upper lock of the door was broken an the bedside table was dirty when we arrived.
While the hotel is nice the room that I was given was disgusting. The couch had several white stains, Lord knows what that was. Also, on the shower bench (we were in a handicap accessible room) was dried up shampoo/conditioner with a piece of hair stuck to it. For this hotel being smoke-free, our bathroom sure smelled like cigarette smoke. We were moved to a different room at around 10:30pm after settling in, which was an inconvenience. In the new room there were a pair of toddler socks left from the previous customer. Upon checking out the lady at the front desk asked me about my stay, I explained my experience. She apologized and stated that she would award me 3500 points for the inconvenience and that I would see it with 24-48 hours. It has been approximately a week and the points are no where to be seen. The lack of cleanliness is unacceptable.
VERY friendly and extremely nice staff. The hotel itself wasnt terrible. Our main problems was in our room. The sheets had a big stain on them, the water would not run out of the shower (so you stood in ankle deep water the whole time you was in the shower), the water would also not run out of the sink. Also there was a lot of parking lot noise at night.
Im have the IHG Spire Elite Royal Ambassador status so this is my fist Marriott chain experience in a very long time. This is my look from a business trip perspective. My room is in excellent order (studio), with a spacious walk in shower and separate/ semi-partitioned area to conduct my work. Two televisions for the arrangement are a very nice touch, and the bed is very comfortable. I racked my back just before this trip so I can say it is very welcoming after a long day and I have slept effortlessly thus far (with the help of some pain killers). The staff is very friendly and more than helpful on-site. The breakfast is standard hotel fair, but does the trick for a quick morning bite... but Waffle House and other establishments are in the vicinity as well if you desire more. The gym has your basic setup as usual, there is also an indoor pool, which s great to have in the current climate. All in all I can say I am very satisfied with this Marriott experience and look forward to tackling the top tier with this chain next.
I loved it...Staff is friendly & available. Rolms are spotless and best part!! Close to everything! You could walk to the farmers market, and Bahn Mi 135 opening soon! The food court at the FM has everything from Philippine to Columbian cuisine... Dont waste your time with that dang Bahama Breeze(filthy)! Its nasty, expensive and ordinary AF! You have excellent Saigon Pho, Abuelitas, a 150 item buffet... And even a Moroccan joint within a 1/2 mile or so!
The Customer service was wonderful! Sheila is so amazing and helpful! The staff who helped with breakfast was great but the breakfast itself was mediocre at best. The price point was good. We had a queen suite and we were not told that the suite only had a shower, no bathtub. Overall a very good experience, thanks to Sheila.
Very nice & kid friendly hotel. Love the colors used throughout the hotel. Breakfast is included & had a great variety of choices. Staff assisted promptly to our needs. Beds had very soft & comfortable linens. Very enjoyable experience. Our only complaint was that it would be more convenient if the workout equipment were turned the opposite direction so we could enjoy a workout & be able to literally look directly at our kids through the glass in the pool room. We also loved the convince of the Ocean breeze restaurant located in the same parking lot as the hotel.
Room overall nice. Beds were soft and room was clean. However, we didnt care for front desk staff upon check in. First they didnt realize reward member status and we never received check in perks from that. Then clerk trired to put us in room already occupied by another family. I have never had that in other Marriott locations. We stay in hotels a lot for work. For that reason we will not stay here in future.
I liked this hotel and it was easy on the budget as well with a pretty solid hot breakfast. I was frustrated that ESPN/ESPN2 was displayed at a low quality though, hopefully that will be fixed soon. Beds were comfortable and the room nicely laid out, though there was a bit of a musty odor that I stopped noticing after a short time.
I had stayed at this location before and loved it. I specifically booked it again because i enjoyed the stay so much. However, i was greatly dissapointed this time. First off, our room smelled very musty. The smell hit you as soon as you walked in. Then we noticed the toilet seat had urine all over it. I had to clean it thoroughly before i could use it. We had driven all day and did not arrive until almost 2:00am and just wanted to go to sleep. Otherwise i definitely would have asked for a different room. Not a good stay.
Lonzia was unprofessional and should not be employed at Marriot. Her attitude was unwarranted and not appreciated. I wanted to switch hotels. I didnt spend money to be disrespected. Her attitude was not representative of an institution that promotes being a welcoming place, a home away from home during your vacations. BEWARE of the unprofessionalism that will make you UNCOMFORTABLE!
Not up to Marriott standards. We (a group of 7) stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Atlanta Gwinnett Place on a recent trip to Atlanta. The hotel itself looked good from the outside, the lobby and rooms were welcoming.Shortly after checking into my room I noticed that the TV remote would not turn on the TV in my room. A little investigation later I found that the power cable of my TV was unplugged. No biggie I though and plugged it back in and turned on the TV with he remote. Unfortunately this was all I was able to do with the remote. No channel changing, no adjusting of the volume and no, no turning off the TV (I gathered that this was the reason the TV was unplugged to begin with). In my two day stay nobody could figure out what what was going or or made any attempts to rectify the issue, only to find out that others in our group had the exact same problem. Hotel staff was also unable to fix my bathroom sink that was not draining. After calling the front desk about both issues I was informed that Engineering would have to check them both out, but neither was resolved during my stay there. Furthermore breakfast was not ready until almost 6:45 (instead of 6:30) the next morning after our arrival which threw a monkey wrench in my schedule (if you know Atlanta traffic you understand what I am talking about). The icing on the cake was the fact that after departing I noticed that my credit card was charged for two additional rooms (luckily the charges of two members of the group I was travelling with). Calling the hotel in an attempt to fix this issue was beyond pointless so we decided to resolve the issue between each other.I have been travelling for over 30 years and am usually loyal to the Marriott brand. I am not quite sure what is (or is not) happening there at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Atlanta Gwinnett Place but since we were urged to leave feedback when we were checking in I thought I would do just that...
Had a horrible experience booking a room block. The Senior Sales Manager shared that several people from my event party were calling to book under a room block. Therefore, I signed a contract for a room block with the impression that there were a multitude of people calling. Only to find that only a few people booked. The unbooked rooms were never dropped on the date detailed in the contract. I feel a little bit swindled and I was left with a large fee for the rooms that were not used. This is a huge disappointment as the team started out very nice and inviting in the beginning. In the end, it’s all business, right? Well, be very, very careful with room blocks. Be sure that there are no inconsistencies in the contract. For me, room numbers, dates...some items were just a bit inaccurate.
The hotel is beside the seafood restaurant Bahama Breeze and very close to Gwinnett Mall. Hotel is five stories and has plenty of parking. Rooms are kept very clean, as well as the hallways and other facilities. HVAC is in good working order and has the capability of keeping the room quite chilly if you like it so. Some issue was had with the room key cards, but they immediately throw away any potentially defective or worn out cards so issue was resolved. the bed is quite comfortable, the bathroom and shower have good amounts of space. The supplied breakfast is essentially a continental breakfast with the addition of eggs and sausage. Staff was nothing but kind and courteous. Decor is quite nice. Could not see any signs of sloppiness or mistakes in construction and decoration of the rooms. In short the hotel is a pleasant place to stay, I would recommend it to other people, but if you require more sustenance for breakfast then I would suggest getting your breakfast elsewhere.
It was such a horrible experience. We stayed for 2 nights. after first night, the house keeping didnt come. We were expecting clean room when we came back but it was not. House keeping didnt come and nothing was clean. Also at night, the heater made creepy noise randomly, almost every 15 to 20 min. It waked me up in the middle of night, and I had to turn it off in the middle of cold winter night. When I checked out I told everything to the hotel. They said they will give me point for not cleaning the room and also another extra credit point for noisy heater. I never got the credit point yet. I am a gold elite member through the SPG. Mostly I really liked Marriott hotel but not this time. It was really horrible experience.
This hotel is only about 2 years old and its easily a bottom tier hotel, which is sad because I stayed here when they first opened and it was very nice and comfortable. Now you literally have children running the front desk, paint peeling from the ceiling, the police were here tonight (2/17/18) because of some unruly guests, people fighting, etc. The guests appeared to be very young. I thought hotels had an age minimum, but I guess thats just mid to top level hotels. First, I had to ask to be checked in as the two people standing at the front desk did not acknowledge my presence. Mind you I arrived around 11pm so they werent checking anyone else in. The guy was not personable and was somewhat rude. The elevator reeked of marijuana. Then I was given a handicap accessible room and could hear every single thing the neighbors were doing, even the coughing. These people were still making noise at 1am. The shower was dirty and no way I was getting in it for fear of leaving with a staph infection. I figured I can rise super early and shower when I get home. No need to chance it. Service levels and quality has gone way down in such a short time. Its disappointing. Luckily my drive home is only 3 hours, so hopefully I can stay awake given the lack of sleep. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else if you want a comfortable nights sleep.
I had the pleasure of staying here for over a week while in transition... everyone was very helpful and friendly! Very clean hotel with excellent air quality in the rooms and throughout! We felt right at home! Breakfast was great every day! Laundry facilities were also very clean! This review is long overdue but I also want to thank Anthony, Marcia (G.M), Chelsey, Marvin, Ashanti, Candice, Carol, Kavan, and lastly but not least Kalin!
Overall I found the place was clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was not very good, and unfortunately the bed was not comfortable at all. I requested foam pillows but none were available so I had to use the feather pillows which are very difficult for me to sleep on. I even requested the foam pillows when I made the reservation but they said they couldn’t locate that. Overall it’s a clean place to stay but I wouldn’t go back just due to the poor sleep that I got. The room was also very bright Even with the curtains closed.
Check-in staff that dont go out of their way to recognize brand loyalty (typical of Marriotts mid-tier partners). Rooms were clean and well-appointed (microwaves and small refrigerators). I hate the cheapness of the mid-tier toiletries....and whats with not providing LOTION? It is often the small things that matter. The beds were soft (I prefer tempurpedic) which is normally a problem for me but surprisingly I awoke well and refreshed. I am admittedly spoiled by Marriotts upper-tier treatment but realize that isnt always a possibility out on the road. I appreciated the checkout staff and their encouragement to grab a complimentary bagged breakfast and coffee for the road (I had overslept the free breakfast). Overall a solid 4 STAR experience. I would definitely stay here again (and will likely) when I am driving my oversized van and am in their neck of the woods.
Overall, the hotel is very nice. The entrance is beautiful as well as the rooms were nice and comfy. I booked a suite but was unaware that all suites are handicapped rooms. Made no difference to me other than the fact that we wanted a bathtub which is not I the suites from what they told me after I asked about it. Also, the hand towel was dirty. It was clear that someone used in as it was brown in the drying area. I was upset because that meant that whomever cleaned the room decided to not change out the towels because they were hanging apparently. I called the front desk and told them that I wanted all fresh towels in which they apologized unapologetically and stated they will send some up. Two hours later at almost 11 pm they arrived. Of course this left me thinking that they probably didnt change the sheets either. The breakfast, weve had much better and quite a few thought the same thing as I had hallway and elevator conversation with other guests while waiting on the elevator.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The internet speed was great and overall the hotel was nice. There appeared to be a staff shortage as no one was available to bring extra towels (due to the hotel being busy). Also, there was no linen available for the sofa bed due the laundry not being finished. The complimentary breakfast needs improvement as it needed cleaning and items were depleted prior to end time.
My daughter & I visited USA to attend her sisters graduation and we decided to stay at Fairfield Inn & Siutes primarily due to its proximity to where she lives and arena. The facility was okay but what made our stayed great was the attention, help, kindness and general conduct of the staff. The standard was set very high from our first interaction with the check in clerk, then from there it was the same with everyone with whom we interacted with. The hotel and staff certainly made our visit that much more pleasurable, relaxing and fun. If & when I decide to visit my daughter again you rest assure that i will be staying at this hotel & will recommend it to anyone wishing stay at nice clean place with nice friendly & helpful staff to interact with.
This was a great hotel. No complaints. I would ask for a room away from the elevators next time, they were a little noisy, but that isnt the staffs fault. It was great. My kids loved the pool - which unlike many other hotel pools, was actually a warm temperature. Good hotel. We will definitely stay here if in Atlanta again.
My room was pretty nice got the price, and it had what youd expect, a microwave, a mini fridge, a flat screen and was stocked with toiletries. The wifi was spotty, and would cut out a lot, but it was alright when it worked. The room and hotel in general were clean. The elevators were a bit loud, and they stopped kinda violently, but that doesnt really mean anything. I enjoyed my stay, and felt it was worth what I paid.
Im going thru a divorce and wanted to take some time for myself. I choose this hotel because of the ratings and the amenities and location. Very close to the highway but tucked far enough to avoid traffic noise. When I entered the hotel I was greeted by Shelia and Maria and give amazing customer service throughout my stay.My room was clean and I slept in the most amazing king bed. The shower was my favorite it was glass walk in big shower and I felt like I was truly on a vacation. I even got my workout routine still and felt amazing. I will definitely be going back.
I had another fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, positive and helpful. A clean and modern hotel, with a nice breakfast bar, and excellent high speed internet service. Ive stayed here many times and its located a very convenient spot close to great restaurants and things to do.
Terrible experience at this hotelBreakfast was awful, eggs were tasteless, bread and muffins very dry. it was so not worth it.No Security available. People walk in and out with no questions asked. Felt really unsafe.Customer service terrible, simply non existent. To top it off management does not care..Beware, you have been warned. If you like your security, money, health and well being avoid this hotel and go somewhere else..
I had a wonderful stay here this past weekend for a friend birthday party. Very clean room. Rooms are good however some improvements can be made. Worked out quickly, and efficiently with positive attitudes and we were ALL happy. I notified the staff immediately and they began processing my refund.
The ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER sabrina wade was one of the rudest costumer service ppl ive encountered while traveling.. She rolled her eyes repeatedly and shrugged her shoulders alot... When i asked to speak to her boss she told me she was the boss (front desk lady) so i then called customer service and ask ed for her boss name and number( in which when whoever answers that # she claims she dont speak English after i bring up sabrinas name) so i went back to continue to check in seeing everything was booked for memorial day weekend.. She the told me she ought not serve me since i called the customer service ppl... Seeing i was 1000 miles away from home with 2 kids you would think she would of been a little more compassionate considering the only problem was the old card reader didntwant to read my card.. HOW RUDE SEBRINA WADE. THEM went on to tell them i smoked in my room and I DONT SMOKE PERIOD MAMM! so she charger me 250 after i left
On a five star rating system, the Fairfield Inn Hotel and Suites Gwinnett Place earns a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Despite being booked to capacity, the entire personnel team, from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff were extremely efficient, courteous, and graceful in attending to my needs, and the needs of the other guests I came into contact with. Every single member of the crew functioned in their capacities with pride, as if they owned the property, and it was there own names displayed on the marquee of the building. By far, this was one of my best experiences with a Marriott Bonvoy property, and I have never actually had a bad experience.
The location was great, right off the interstate and close to shopping and restaurants. The rooms were spotless and well organized. They have a 10pm quiet policy, but it was quiet all day. The pool was clean, the gym was nice ( for a hotel). Guest service was awesome! Really enjoyed my stay. One of the best in Atlanta area.
Adequate stay for the money. Walking distance to Bahama Breeze which is a pretty good restaurant. However, don’t expect much from the breakfast. The Indoor pool was convenient. However, It had too much chlorine and was burning our eyes, therefore we couldn’t stay long.
Picked this hotel because it advertised to still have wired internet. Despite still having the hook up in the room it did not work. I was on the top floor and the wifi was very poor. Speed test put it at .11mbps on average. Breakfast was bland even by hotel standards. Swimming pool was barely big enough for one person to swim in, more of a kid sized pool. The room, bed, and bathroom were reasonably nice; I liked the standing shower. Room was always too hot or too cold, I could not get a good balance with the thermostat, possibly because the bed only had a sheet and a thick comforter. All in all I was fairly unsatisfied, but extra star given for waiving cancellation fee when I left early. In fact the service was always very good, except one instance where I felt shooed away. A good place for traveling through, but would not recommend for longer stays or on business.
One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. I enjoyed the updated decor and the spacious breakfast area. My family did not use the indoor pool, but may have considered using a hot tub if they had one.
The bed was so uncomfortable. It was a very hard bed. The shower floor was dirty. The mini refrige did not work, put drinks in there but never got cold. Probably would not stay at this hotel in the future due to my husband and I not sleeping well, and the shower floor being dirty. We did not report these problems because we checked in around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and immediately had to head out to work. Got back to the hotel late and was extremely tired. Checked out the next morning around 9:30am. Just decided we will not stay at this hotel when we have to come to Atlanta for business again.
The internet connection was super slow even though as platinum elite I have free “high speed”. Told the front desk folks who said they would “look into it” ... I guess not. The bed was “ok” and the breakfast was free and not bad. Lukewarm coffee. It was clean, up to date, and safe so it wasn’t all bad but the slow internet really clouded my visit. It was reasonably priced compared to others in the area. Slow internet is driving the amenities score down.
Room setting is really good for perfect relaxation. Bed very comfortable and breakfast was good. More than enough parking. Colours and devor perfect and welcoming. I checked out of another hotel due to the very poor environment and horrible ex experience. This one was perfect.
Hotel staff was very nice and friendly everything was clean and well presented stayed with sister-in-law and young son and everything was nice and clean. Beds were very comfy the only issue would be the noise as everyone knows some hotel room doors are very heavy these especially didnt think anything of it until late at night and all you hear is door slamming you can even hear doors down the hall slam very loudly got woken up 3 - 4 Times by The Doors if you plan to sleep in past 7 a.m. this may not be a good place all you hear is slamming of doors did not get to experience breakfast but they do have free breakfast until 9:30 altogether experience was nice except for the noise.
Luckily, we found out on Friday night that a room was available on Saturday night and I was able to cancel the backup reservation I made. Hands down the best service Ive ever gotten. The front desk staff was very helpful in getting our smart phones connected to Wi-Fi. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thankfully, we found a lovely Hilton in the next town.
I was very upset with our stay. We had to stay where our baseball tournament said or our team would be charged. Then after we check in we are told the pool is closed I have 2 other kids that look forward to the pool while they have to go to all of their older brothers tournament, telling a 3yr old that the pool is closed was very hard everyday. Then we get to our room the beds are comfy, rooms look nice, then we take a shower to see mold on the inside part of the shower curtain I took pics incase try to deny. My 3yr old found toothpaste and a rubber cover to something from whoever was there last. We were there for 7 days the pool was closed all that time plus we got a run around when they would get it fixed. If your going to have to pay the full price I expect that everything should of been usable if not there should of been a reduction on the price
Let me start by saying this is my first bad experience with a Fairfield Inn. It started when we walked in the room and I was overwhelmed by the smell of musty, moldy smelly wet carpet. It seemed as though the carpet in the room had gotten soaked but never dried completely. Kind of like old gym socks! Second, the elevators were in very poor condition. One was creaky and made a lot of noise when it moved. By the next day it had stopped all together and so there was only one elevator for a very busy weekend. Third, there was no shampoo in the room and when we inquired about getting more, we were told that they were out. Fourth, let’s talk about the breakfast. I have stayed at hotels that cost half as much and have gotten better breakfasts. The eggs were rubbery, there was only one kind of fruit, sausage was cold and there was just no real selection of food. The food they did have was of poor quality. There seemed to be only one person working the desk so she was incredibly busy. The towels in the pool were all used and we had to keep asking for more. The beds seemed good at first but after waking up my back was killing me and that is unusual for me. The pool was incredibly small, I mean this thing is not much larger than a hot tub and get a group of people in there and nobody can move around. Now, any one of these alone is not enough for me to get upset over. Things happen, but for all of these things to happen all at once was just more than I can take.
The Fairfield was clean and modern in which I liked. However, on the website it stated there was a whirlpool and spa in which I didnt see. The regular pool was cold to be in doors. The pool and whirlpool were the reason I chose this hotel over others. Also, the hotel was noisy. There were all types of bumping and banging next to my room. Like there was some utility closet next door. It didnt help that each morning around 8:30 house keeping would go down the hall banging on everyones door. I went there to sleep and relax. A getaway from my daily work life. Unfortunately, sleeping in was not an option. They could have waited until checkout time before waking everyone up. Just be mindful when planning.
The staff were very friendly and always tried to help. I was very impressed by this because I currently work at a hotel now and know none of my ***agers or coworkers would dare clean any rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again if we ever return to this area.
While the hotel is nice the room that I was given was disgusting. The couch had several white stain, Lord knows what that was.
This hotel was a great find. It was better priced than others but lacked non of the services or amenities I expect. They had excellent rooms with nice matters and pillows. The rooms were clean and the shower was strong. The breakfast was super, better than most I experience at this level.
I had read lots if mixed reviews about this hotel, but we were only staying one night and the price was right. I have to say that any negative reviews are just not fair.Based on our overnight stay, this hotel is great! Friendly and courteous staff and a good place to stay. You won’t go wrong!
I almost always choose to stay at a Marriot hotel if I can. This was my first stay at this particular hotel. I will most definitely stay here again in the future. The hotel staff here were wonderful and extremely nice. The nicest staff Ive ever had at a hotel. The staff at all Marriot properties are always nice but they were over the top. My daughter loved the indoor pool. Our room was roomy and comfortable.
From the moment we entered your facility, Sheila, our receptionist welcomed us. Your hotel was clean, nicely decorated and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the variety. The staff was friendly, professional and accommodating. We definitely will be back and we are looking forward to our next stay.
I stay at the Fairfield 95 percent of the time whenever I’m in the metro Atlanta area. I am always greeted with a warm heartfelt welcome that puts me at ease and makes me feel right at home. I am provided service with the greatest of professionalism. On the occasion that I have had to utilize the in-house Business Center, internet access has been simple and user friendly. The staff has always been eager to assist when I needed it. The Fairfield is both my “home away from home” and my “office away from the office.” If you haven’t tried the Fairfield Inn before, you should! You will thoroughly enjoy the experience!
We were running so late. Who plans to arrive in Atlanta by car at 5:30pm on a Friday?I wish it hadnt been us, but it was. Lesson learned, believe me.The concert we were planning to attend began at 7:00pm and we were pushing itso close because we had been stuck in traffic on I-75 and I-285 and I-85 ever sincewe even got close to Atlanta. So, I called ahead to the Fairfield and spoke with Tracy.I explained how close we were to being late to the concert because we needed to checkin to the hotel before we went (to change clothes and place our luggage someplace safe).I asked Tracy if there was anything we could do to expedite the check-in process. She toldme to have my ID and credit card ready when we pulled up and that she would do everythingshe could to make it the fastest check in we had ever experienced. And she did just that, andwith a smile on her face the whole time, too. We ended up being 10 minutes early to theconcert thanks to her help.Every other employee we encountered was also friendly and courteous andhelpful, too; I cant say enough about the staff. Wonderful experience with them! The hotel room itself was nicely decorated, colorful, spacious enough. Therewas one minor housekeeping issue, but nothing to even call the front deskabout. The breakfast was nice. Bacon galore! The ONLY complaint I have with this Fairfield is the size of the pool. It is sovery tiny. So very, very tiny. So very, very, very tiny. It was, more or less, thesame size as our hotel room. Thats just not big enough. More than twopeople at a time in it, and it was too crowded. A new pool should be included inthe next upgrade.
The hotel is nice and the staff is very kind they welcome you every time you walk through the door and they also have lemon water at the front desk if you ever get thirsty. The double queen beds me and my sister got for us and my 3 kids was perfect I would say try and not to get the long hallway in the room we notice the room is smaller our cousin got that one but ours was good. The bathroom was a nice size and plenty of towels. Buttt the tv ohh boy did we have a hard time with that being from new York we dont need 2 remotes to work a tv well even to get to the channels. I would say my only down fall for this place is the pool and tgats one of the main reasons why i booked thos place but I mean its REALLYYYYY small goes to like 5 ft i believe. HEAD OF ADVICE if you plan on visiting the restaurant/bar you better call head of time for reservations maybe 1 day because the wait time is like 2-3 hours which is crazy long. Location wise because i was visiting family the hotel was really close to their house and the hosiptal but as a vacation i would not have stayed here you can not walk anywhere and need a car.
Had a great overnight stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Atlanta Gwinnett. Check in was quick and convenient and Marie at the front desk was incredible and personable. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Decore was above average and breakfast had a good selection and the staff was working very hard keeping the area clean and replenished. Coffee was hot and delicious. I can not say enough about Marie at the front desk. She checked us in at night and was still there in the morning. Working long hours due to the weather and covering for others. All of this and still smiling and going above and beyond. Kudos to her and all at the Fairfield.
We were on the first floor which means they are handicapped rooms. Bottom of walk-in shower had black areas on it. I asked for it to be cleaned and someone did come and wipe it down with bleach. This did not remove the black spots as a brush was needed to remove the spots. Also did not like that they charge an extra $40 on your card in case there are damages. They said it would refunded in 7 to 10 days. Room overall was nice as was the lobby. Was told they would email our receipt but have not received it yet and we checked out yesterday.
Totally ruined our family trip because of bed bug. I reserved 3days in last January 23~25. In the first night, I didnt sleep at all night. I didnt realize what makes me crazy itching and irritation until I found a bed bug super swellen after my blood fed. Ive got 9 bites on my neck and chest. Just right after found, I request them taking a proper steps with apology. Till now no sincere apology no action even no response!!!! Ignored! Never stay here. I & husband both of us have Marriott gold membership. We were Marriotts big fans. Very disappointed.
I was told that there was an upgrade available but they could not give it to me because I was staying on points + cash. For this same reason, I was told it is not possible to get a receipt for my stay (which I need for business). Also, i was not offered bonus points or market item upon check in or even acknowledged as being a marriott member, much less a platinum member. Lastly, I had 2 encounters with a not so customer friendly maid. The maid working on the 4th floor the day of my checkout had her cart that was taking up half the hall (understandable ), but the other half was blocked by a bag of towels. When she saw me coming down the hall pulling luggage, she did nothing as I had to lift the luggage and stepped over the bag. I also ran into the same maid when I was exiting the elevator and she was entering. She did not wait for me to exit as she entered, making me turn to get by her. I said excuse me and she said nothing. I assume that this is because she does not speak English. Even with a language barrier it is possible to be customer friendly with just a smile and a nod to acknowledge that the guest is there. Definitely not the Marriott service that I am accustomed to.
Rooms are well laid out with a well sized bathroom & walk in shower. Practical location with fair pricing. The morning breakfast has enough diversity to fit most peoples needs. Only downside was the slow wifi service. I was barely able to run voice only on skype, which bumped offline frequently do to the poor speed.
My coworker recommended me to stay in this hotel. The Fairfield was very clean which is important to me on my stays away from home. By the way, the breakfast is included in all room and it is reasonable good just that you will expect the same things everyday. I had requested a feather free room and had to call the front desk to replace pillows, etc.
We had to move rooms because the strong marijuana smell and noise was not letting us sleep. Once we moved rooms, the sofa bed did not have the sheets and my teenager daughter had to go to the lobby and get the sheets because the night clerk was “busy”. Totally unacceptable and beyond disappointed. Marriott for the most part is a very reliable hotel to stay, but this stayed has been by far the worst night we have experienced.
I did my initial inspection and I was amazed at the cleanliness of the room. Once it passed my inspection I was able to relax comfortably! The beds were so much more than expected! The mattresses were amazing! I had a wonderful nights sleep! Very impressive for the price!
I checked in around 4:00 the evening of September 17 (as I was headed back to NC after the hurricane) and someone tried to break in my car by 9:00 that night. If it werent for my alarm I am sure I wouldnt have a car right now! To my understanding, cars getting broke into is a common thing around this hotel and apparently the management isnt not concerned at all! They have very low light in parts of the parking lot at night and too many unnecessary bushes that thieves can use for cover. An absolutely terrible experience and of course I didnt get any rest that night thinking the perpetrators would come back. And now, its been almost a week later and I finally spotted the hole in my door under the door handle that let me know for sure that someone tried to break in my car! I recommend everyone stay the hell away from this hotel and area period! And to think...I picked this hotel because I thought I would be safe!
This location is convenient to many of the Atlanta area attractions with easy access to an array of shopping and dining establishments. The property was immaculate! Nothing was out of place or lacked attention to detail even with several different events happening over a long weekend. The common areas were inviting and comfortable, the delicious breakfast was ample, hot, and well presented. Our family was comfortable not only in the clean quiet room but also at the clean, well maintained pool and fitness areas. David made us feel welcome immediately and the rest of the staff were very courteous and helpful. I will stay at this location again.

2022-05-29I stopped in as a non-paying customer (but a Marriott Rewards member), and wasn’t allowed to use the restroom. I had to go to another hotel directly beside this one (non Marriott facility).I have never felt more profiled and disrespected. I left and returned because this didn’t sit well with me. I asked for the manager’s information and will be reaching out to them directly. The attendants attitude was just horrible. I see why I’ve moved my services to Hilton…wow!Sincerely,Never coming back here!

2022-03-23I did enjoy my room even though I couldnt stay the full time of my stay because I was in an accident. The customer service is good. They serve a hot breakfast everyday but some days you should just order from IHOP or Waffle House down the street. Its in a great location near many restaurants and near the highway. The rooms are cozy and well sanitized.

2022-06-14Cheap Motel set up under big name. Room Carpet had weird odor. Fridge did not work. Bathroom was falling apart where flooring was coming off.Service was horrible. Lady refused to make coffee at the breakfast. Her answer no I wont be making coffee. Its already 8am.Gym and swimming pool was closed due to unknown reasons.Entire place needs a makeover to be able to keep the franchise name.

2022-06-19Beautiful location. However customer service has gone drastically down. I have stayed at this location multiple times on business in Lawrenceville. My most recent trip was a different experience. The clerk at check in was downright rude and unhelpful when I inquired regarding early check in (which has never previously been an issue). Regardless if early check in was available, the experience with my interaction and her attitude was off putting and will 100% result in my staying elsewhere when in town on business.I would not recommend this location to travelers based on their customer service alone. What is the purpose of being loyal to Marriott brand if this is the way they treat those who stay 100s of nights per year with their brand?

2022-01-20It was quiet in the hotel and other guests were polite. The front desk attendants were good and helpful. Close to a variety of food venues. Room was clean. Only trouble we had was using the tv/internet. Other than that, it was a peaceful and pleasant stay.

2022-06-03I had a reservation to stay with my friend at this hotel on May 31st. My friend arrived earlier than me and tried to check in, but the staff refused. So I was going to go check in later, but the staff canceled the reservation with the amount charged on the credit card regardless of my opinion. The front desk staff (Ms Sterling) hung up, mocking the phone as Have a nice day, saying that it was my fault, rather than resolving the customers situation. Ive been to the Marriot Hotel more than a few hundred times, but Ive never had this experience before. I heard that it is difficult to find people after COVID-19, but it is also a problem to have an untrained employee at the front desk and to ask General Manager through Marriot Hotel Customer Service (Case #356286455). If someone says theyre staying at this hotel, Id like to tell them not to recommend it, but to be careful because it could lead to personal attacks.

2022-05-29While the hotel is clean and nice the check in process was horrible the person working 3-11-4-12 had a very nasty attitude. My husband and I went out to eat and go to a spa with friends and got back to the hotel around 3 am when we came out to go to breakfast we found that several cars in the lot has been vandalized but having their windows busted including ours. The hotel staff was outside trying to clean the glass away before people go out to see what happened luckily we got out there before they could get to the glass near our window so we didn’t have any proof or photos to take.I didn’t feel safe staying there another night if I was able to get my window fixed for fear thatthh ge try would bust it again. Unfortunately with the Memorial Day holiday no one could come out so we ended up having to tape the window up and schedule an appt back home 4 hours away.I do not recommend staying here if you value your vehicle because they will remind you they have a sign posted it’s at your own risk as if you can fold your car up and take it with you!
