My boyfriend and I Had the fish and chips with the peach baked beans as an entree and wings as an appetizer. Baaabyyyy let me tell you, the fish was so good and the beer batter they use is awesome. I don’t eat pork and didn’t realize the baked beans had pork in it until I started eating. But it didn’t matter because those baked beans were so good I was willing to risk the tummy ache 😂I had the jolly rancher drink it was okay. Lots of flavor just wasn’t strong. I tried the Texas peach and that one was really strong and delicious. My boyfriend had the Grateful Dead and he said it was pretty good. The manager came out and asked everyone how their food was and to make sure we were okay. Kudos to him, that put an extra special touch to the customer service. Overall I give this place a 5 stars. Some of the reviews are sketchy, as we almost didn’t choose this place because of them. But I think those people were just complainers because the food and service was awesome through and through.
Avoid at all costs. The menu sounded good but the staff made the experience miserable. Waited 2 hours for a table. Went to the bar to wait and the bartenders were doing shots and ignoring guests. Once I got his attention he made 2 out of the 3 drinks wrong(ordering them 1 at a time) and gave us a soda and an extra beer we didnt order. He was shaking like crazy too. Said no iced tea, no ipas. Ordered a 2nd round of drinks and it was just as bad but 2 dollars cheaper. 45min wait turns into 2hrs. Owner of the building came around outside picking up empty cups complaining about how bad of tenants the restaurant is. Gotta table and server confirms that they actually have 2 ipas and tea. Food was just ok. Burger was overcooked and fries were soggy. Bathrooms were a mess with no toilet paper in 1 and just sitting on the counter in the other and had no soap and 1 soap dispenser on the counter off the wall empty. Very unsanitary and shows that noone cares.*updated* to the rude owner: This just shows how immature of an establishment you run. Dont get all bent out of shape. I am just trying to give other guests the honest truth to not waste time here when there are much better options. Check my reviews and you will see I give credit when due, unfortunately your restaurant is bad and you cant take customer feedback. No one will be sad when it closes. Obviously you dont spend much time there. We asked for a manager and there was none. Or maybe your just a slob and think its fine. The only reason people go here is because its by the train and havent been here before.
We were excited about tonight but very disappointed. We had very bad service. We waited on drinks forever and some never got one refill after asking several times. The fries were very good but that’s all to brag on. We had to get our own napkins and silverware. They charged me for a ranch she never brought and $6 for a side of beer cheese that was cold. We had to go to the bar to get another beer because she never brought it like after 15 minutes and blamed the bar tender. Overall it was a very disappointing experience.Oh and to top it off she got a 20% tip included on our bill for a very terrible job. Unfortunately, We will not return.
We went here for lunch as we were leaving town, unfortunately the menu did not nearly taste as good as the descriptions of the food sounded. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE DIP. The Brie spinach artichoke dip was incredibly watered down and soupy, and we couldn’t even taste any Brie and instead tasted an insane amount of garlic. The chips were also stale. According to a reply from the owner on another review this dip is supposed to be cheesy and there is no garlic in it…. Disappointing that the chef hasn’t fixed this issue. The buffalo sandwich was lacking buffalo sauce. The burgers were well cooked but tasted like something we could make at home with store bought patties. The fries were soggy and the beans tasted like busch’s baked beans. The service was also disappointing. We were hardly checked on and waited over 20 minutes to get our check, although at the time we were leaving the restaurant was pretty full so we understood the wait. The atmosphere was really nice though, but overall the food really needs some improvement.
Hands down best restaurant in Blue Ridge. Whoever the owner is, he did something right. The vibe was amazing. The music was top notch. The photos, guitars, memorabilia, etc was off the charts. The food...dont even get me started. How are you not at least a 3 star Michelin place? You guys are the best. My server was Ty, and he did a swell job. Give him like a $2 raise
Burgers were delicious and drinks were good. Service was incredibly slow. We are very patient but between slow bar service and a waitress more attentive for us to leave than to take care of us throughout the meal, I had to give it less than 5 stars. Stopped for a late lunch as a family.
We would definitely come back again. Michelle was very helpful and provided great service. We got the Pork Rinds, Mexican Street Corn, Psycho Burger (Buffalo chicken on a burger, for this month), Make Your Own Burger, Fish and Chips, and Fish Tacos. Everything was amazing... Except the mac and cheese. We were really excited for the mac and cheese but that was definitely a letdown... Again, would still come back for everything else!
The worst experience I have had in a long time. Hostess was horrible and sat on her phone the whole time while we were waiting for tables to be cleaned off to be sat. Original wait time was 15 minutes and the wait was 50 minutes. The only reason we got sat was because I said something to the bartender Melissa who was amazing! Food was inedible and somehow we managed to spend $200 even without eating. The menu sounds good but the food nor the time is not worth it.
Absolutely loved everything! The atmosphere, staff, music, and food was outstanding! The not your average ruben is amazing! I highly recommend it. The Mammoth appetizer made with chips is delicious. My kids loved the mac-n-cheese quesadilla! Above all your fur babies are welcome on the patio as well! I cant wait to come back!
Delicious psyche burger and beans both with a twist. I would go back. I got the pear and goat cheese salad too which was a large portion...needed more goat cheese and nuts but had big fresh and grilled pears though. The food was moderately priced. Lots of 80s rock n roll music and memorabilia there. The tshirts were a bit creepy. One said...Im not stupid. Show me the candy before I get in the van.
Gluten Free does not necessarily mean Gluten Free. Be careful guys.Let me explain further. You made one of out part ill on Saturday by having a soup marked gluten free. You then mentioned it wasnt once is was eaten. You then continued to charge us for it, gave no offer of compensation and tipped yourselves 20% for the pleasure.
This use to be one of my FAVORITE places to go eat but over the last few years they changed the menu a lot, and made it much more lazy. They use to make everything house made, even the condiments, which is why I went there. The housemade ketchup and mayo was to die for. They had amazing thin crispy fries too and now they are basic and a let down. Sad to see such a great place turn into another boring burger joint.
The food was good, but the price of my mixed drink was outrageous. I ordered a vodka and soda with a splash of cranberry in a cocktail glass and it was $13.50. The itemized price was vodka- $8, soda $2, and splash of cranberry- $3.50. I worked in restaurants for twenty years and have never complained. I asked the waitress if they really have to charge $3.50 for a splash of cranberry and she said thats how they have to ring it up. Oh well- next time Ill get a shot of vodka instead :)
First it took a longer then told time to just get a table to be cleaned for us while the hostess blew us off. She sat there on her phone while there was a multitude of tables to be cleaned and we ended up waiting 45 mins after a told 15.Then when we ordered our food unfortunately we had our server running in circles even though it wasn’t her fault and she was the best, but almost every meal came out cold and missing something. We had a burger with someone’s hair in it cold meat that was on a supposed hot dish. Food looked nothing like the pictures or how it was described and the Mac n Cheese tasted like cardboard. All in all the food was not good and a waste of our money and time please choose somewhere else.
A little disappointed. Waited for quite some time in line to get in. Waited a little longer than normal after ordering for food, only to have a warm (at best) burger and fries show up. The fries wouldve been a 10 had they been hot. The draft beer was also fairly warm.
The service was sub par (none of us had drinks the whole time) because the serve was new and we understood that BUT when we went to pay the server charged us for the wrong ticket which was much more than ours. It took her about 30 minutes to sort it out and never once apologized. We asked to speak to the manager and the new owner Mike Kennedy came out and basically yelled at us about how it was going to be. He was rude and did not seem to care that something had gone wrong. No one ever apologized for the 30 minutes we lost just sitting there waiting for it to be corrected. I would not recommend it, there are far better restaurants in downtown.
I really enjoyed the food! Such a cool atmosphere and an interesting menu with even weirder vibes! The only thing that’s keeping me from giving 5 stars was the wait. You can’t make a reservation or call ahead and they don’t do takeout or delivery. So to enjoy their food you’re gonna wait a bit because there is ALWAYS a wait. But it’s worth it!
We come to Blue Ridge occasionally and generally just have drinks here, as the service is bad and the food is mediocre. Today was the worst, however. Waitress left us sitting here for 20 mins before greeting us, then we waited another 15-20 minutes for our drinks, Sprite and water. Arugula and artichoke dip was runny and and basically liquid. Salads came out with no dressing and mine had brown lettuce. The meal was over $50 and we didn’t even drink. This place is more about the gimmick than the food or service. Go somewhere else in Blue Ridge.
Like hard rock or Metal. I do. well what a surprise when I walked in this place and it was a theme restaurant in just that. Great pics decor and memorabilia all Hard rock oriented. with great tunes playing. Food named after bands or songs. I had the Megadeth what a sandwich. It was 12 of us we got sat fast food was great and tasty Great place over all. A must if your in this small but charming mountain town. A must
The Fightingtown Tavern is a fav lunch spot for us when we come to BlueRidge. The food quality and freshness are always on point. In the last visit or two somethings a little different and the food hasnt been quite a 5 like normal. More of a 4 - 4.5. The service is always excellent. The setting too. Overall no complaints. We love the FTT. Will be back again soon.
Never Again!New Ownership: Mike KennedyHorrible service and disappointing food portions. Charged our card with bogus drink orders then made us WAIT 25 minutes for the correction. We asked to speak to the manager and he (Mike Kennedy) proceeded to talk loudly (like screaming) in an intimating demeanor like a bully while he explained why it took so long to correct. NEVER did he or the server apologize - I felt verbally violated having encountered him. Awful!!
Don’t let the pictures deceive you, the food was mediocre at best. This was the only place in town open for dinner in down town blue ridge and we were very disappointed. Soggy fries, dirty menus, bland food.. the only saving quality was that the burger was cooked well. But no flavor really. Nacho fries 4/10, jack Daniels burger 2/10, bacon Mac n cheese had two pieces of fatty bacon.. 4/10, baked beans tasted like canned one.. 2/10
This is a cool sports bar. Its clean and bright. Theres an outside seating area. Service was great. The food was delicious. I recommend trying the burgers. I had the Black and Blue Ridge burger and it was phenomenal. The fries are really good too. There are trivial games if youre interested.
The food was absolutely delicious, the building was clean, and the staff was friendly. The food is the perfect combination of bar food and hipster creativity. My wife had the Georgia burger which had goat cheese and a cooked apple slice on it which she described as Heavenly. I had a Psycho burger, which I think is a chefs daily creation, mine had blue berry reduction and goat cheese, and it was odd but delicious. The homemade ketchup was so unique and delicious. My wife also ordered a off menu cocktail during the dinner rush which they made for her with no fuss. The restaurant states on there menu that they do not have a freezer of microwave at all and EVERYTHING is fresh and homemade, including the condiments. Even with all this fresh and homemade food the prices are only slightly higher than a standard burger joint, with two burger plates and a mountain of fries each, a off menu tequila sun rise and a Coke it came to $40. Would definitely recommend.
We had lunch here while in Blue Ridge recently. The food was overall pretty good but the service was really poor. Our server would not stay at our table for more than a few seconds and did not communicate. We had to ask for silverware a dozen times. 30 minutes into the meal we had to get another server to give us some. When we were leaving a grabbed a couple shirts to buy and was told to go to the bar and pay. The two women bartenders were soo rude it was like I was bothering them to buy two 25$ shirts. I’m trying to support a small business and they are aggravated I’m just buying shirts at the bar. By the way this is after dropping 400$ on lunch for 14 of us. I even left the two women a tip. The burgers were pretty good so that brought them to a two star,...but wow that service is terrible! If the owner is reading this it’s probably time to talk to your staff.
Neat rock themed pub atmosphere, and good burgers; we ordered medium rare and thats what we got. Everything is made on site, even the ketchup. Staff was very attentive and friendly, and service was fast. I should note that went there on a Sunday night off-season, so it was not crowded at all. I can imagine this place getting very crowded/ loud during tourist season. Id still give it a try though.
I have eaten here several times with friendly service. I am not sure what happened today but I will most likely not return. When we approached the host/hostess stand, we were told there were 76 parties ahead of us with a 2hr wait. I put my name in anyway and via the online system, there were 17. I asked if we could sit at the long table that parallels the bar. I was told, “I’m about to seat people there.” It remained empty. After 15 min we noticed there was a sign on the table that said “Self service- see bartender.” We eventually sat at that table. Ordered drinks from bartender. My draft beer was served very short (see picture). I asked to have it topped off and was told no. Of course, I paid in advance... In addition, I asked for a draft beer menu. The bartender pointed to a sign on the wall. I informed her that my friend is sight impaired and need a menu that she could read with a magnifier. After an audible huff, the bartender reluctantly told my friend what was in draft.Rude service. Very, very rude.I have eaten probably a dozen times over the past few years. Never again and I will spread the word.
Fantastic food and drinks. Just what we needed on our arrival in to town after a long drive. The grilled shrimp were totally awesome.... and I eat a lot of shrimp. The honey siracha chicken wings were delicious! Best part.... dog friendly and our waitress Camille was a doll.
WOW OH WOW THIS PLACE IS SUPER CHILL WITH GREAT VIBES!! DELICIOUS DRINKS AND THE FOOD IS GREAT!! THE MENU IS EASY TO READ AND PRICING IS FAIR!! DARTS AND BEYOND AMAZING SERVICE IS WHAT YOU GET HERE AT FIGHTINGTOWN TAVERN IN BLUE RIDGE GA. THANKS FOR THE AMAZING NIGHT GUYS!! LOVE DOUGLASS GRANTHAM AKA D~UMG EDM KING!! SPECIAL THANKS TO MY WIFE JORDAN RHNEA AKA DJ LOLLIPOP ON OUR 1ST ANNIVERSARY!! I LOVE YOU!!
Service was slow, orders came out wrong and the fish and chips were gross. Our appetizers came out with our meal. The fish was slimy and undercooked and the whole plate was swimming in grease. I would have asked the waitress for something else but she never once came back to check on us.
Wow that was delicious, we both got the Georgia charm apple burger. The apple ketchup is also a very nice surprise. Id recommend paying the $5 to park in the lot next to the restaurant rather than getting free parking two streets over. After two meals and two drinks the bill was $51 the food was so good, we left $65.
Food was incredible everything was fresh and made on site. I couldnt ask for more! The theme was what really pushed it over the edge, as a huge music fan it was awesome to see each table dedicated to a great rock artist or group. I was even so lucky to sit still the only table dedicated to my favorite band, Avenged Sevenfold.
We attempted to try out this restaurant today. Unfortunately the young lady taking down names never took ours correctly and we waited for over 25 minutes. When we checked about how much longer our wait would be she brought the manager over- and he was completely no help!! So, if you’re going’s with a large party (6) good luck.We are from out of town and enjoy trying new places- customer service didn’t exist!!!
I have a hard time rating this place, first time I went was absolutely amazing. 5/5 one of the best burgers Ive ever had. Second time the next night was okay at best. Went a 3rd time and it was great again. Went again the other night and they had a single cook, waited an hour and wasnt served so I left. If you can get it on a good night expect one of the best burgers youll ever have.
Located right downtown and easy to walk to. Parking is limited, but, worth the walk. During peak hours there can be quite a wait. They do get busy fast. Enjoy outside seating overlooking beautiful scenic Blue Ridge. The food is their own recipes, but that is what makes it flavorful and good. Not your old standard chain. It is a good different. They even have doggie seating. I had the One Hell of a Samich and the Bacon Mac N Cheese.
Excellent burgers! Had to take 1 star away because a member of our party received an ear of corn that was ice cold and it took over 5 minutes to get someones attention to have it taken care of. Otherwise a great ace, excellent R-n-R memorabilia and atmosphere! Well be back!
I loved Fightingtown Tavern! Their wings were the best I have had at a restaurant in a long time. I had the Bahn Jovi Dip and would definitely recommend. My boyfriend had the fish and chips and said that it was the best he had ever had! Our server Kriss was amazing! 10 out of 10 recommend trying out Fightingtown Tavern. BTW bars do not serve on Sunday until after 12:30 in blue ridge. So if you want drinks with your meal plan for a later lunch.
The food was good, if a bit overpriced. But its in a pretty touristy area, so its kind of to be expected. The wait was crazy long due to the location and amount of foot traffic. The rock themed decor was nice, but needed some maintenance. It had a few rough edges (peeling/faded art, splintered wood, etc), but we enjoyed the food. They were pretty short staffed when we went like many places are right now, but the service was still acceptable. Its worth visiting, but check in early (theyll text you when your table is ready).
Took sister and her husband out for Christmas. Excellent. Unfortunately the corn was cold...was brought another but it was the Mexican style instead of the regular but they did bring me the right one which was perfect. Things happen. Meal was excellent and will go back.
Spent the afternoon in Blue Ridge GA. The Fighting Tavern is in a great location. The menu is typical sports bar. There were 6 TVs playing football that had a little too much red on them for a Tennessee Volunteer but acceptable. There is indoor and outdoor eating space. The restaurant was full but service was still acceptable if not exceptional. We ordered a cheeseburger and the blue ridge burger. My husband likes the burger rare and they agreed however it was dry. Not so dry however that we had to send it back. French fries were good. Coleslaw was not our style but that is not a statement of good or bad. The cabbage in it was was extra long and a little hard to manage. The bill came to $41.30 for both meals and two non alcoholic beverages
Good food and service, very tasty macaroni and cheese. Try it as a side or as a meal. Was interesting to read the information about their commitment to fresh ingredients and reducing waste. My wife left her purse and we didnt realize it until we were down the street. I went back and out server had already locked it in the office for safe keeping. Very thankful for her quick reaponse.
Very lively place in downtown Blue Ridge. The beer was cold, the cocktails were good, and the service was prompt & friendly. Our table ordered a burger and fish & chips. Both were delicious. Be prepared for LARGE servings. Each fish & chips entree could have served 3 people! The price is a value.
Sloppy burger! Yeah it’s hand pressed by a machine: seriously they look like Bubba Burgers. The music is a loud death metal. Very disappointing this place is rated so high. Like the atmosphere is this scream house. AVOID!!look at the photos! Dirty glasses are used For drinks. This places is awful
Table had a gapping space in it. Waitress came to deliver rest of food about the same time I was reaching for my beer that only had a couple of sips out of it. Dont know how, but the whole beer was on table and my lap. First thing waitress said was I didnt do that. Never said: let me get you another beer nor ask if I would like one. So whole meal out of beer out of water. Not a friendly atmosphere. Fish good, burger ok, mac and cheese awesome, fries pretty good. Price reasonable. This 2 families of 6 wont be back. Across the street to our favorite place from now on. This morning our son in law and family of 6 had been there before and waited a long time for anyone to ask them for seating. He said they will never go back.
Where does an Atlanta chef that is looking for some laid-back action with great good go for a quick honeymoon??? Fightingtown Tavern in Blue Ridge is a MUST!! @fightingtown had a simply amazing burger with exceptional tacos, in addition to excellent service, great music, fair prices AND a covered balcony!!! If youre in Blue Ridge and not visiting Fightingtown then youve missed out!
Arrived at 11:55 seated at 12:00 noon. Server finally got to table at 12 :30 with water and menus.. Wife was excited to try the Brie Artichoke Arugula dip. When it arrived was very watery. Ask if that was normal they said yes. So ok tasted more like garlic than Brie was very disappointed. Not edible was more like soup. I had the wings nothing to brag about just wings. Very disappointed
My family had a fabulous meal here. The food was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the peach mango salsa and the artichoke arugula and brie dip. The burgers and salads were wonderful too. I highly recommend the sesame lime dressing. Our server (Destiny) was very helpful and friendly. We will be back for sure!
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had…and it was all due to the staff. The hostess with the dark hair and nose ring is about the rudest employee I have ever encountered in my life. My family of 9 ate an early dinner here. We have a toddler and we had a small umbrella stroller with us at our table. We had been in the restaurant for over an hour and eaten our dinner and we’re waiting to pay (for over 20 minutes) so I took our our toddler outside while the rest of the family was waiting for the check. After a few minutes, I went back inside to check on my family. As soon as I was back at the table the hostess followed me over and said “We have a no stroller policy here, hasn’t anyone told you?!” in a very condescending tone. I replied no, and that we had been there for over an hour and were just waiting to pay. (At this time, there were also two other families with strollers at their tables dining outside, but for some reason we were the only patrons approached). As we were leaving, another family was seated with a stroller by the same hostess that had just told me “no strollers were allowed.” So I asked her why they were allowed to keep their stroller and we could not, her reply was “You don’t have to be so rude” I have never been to any business establishment that profiles paying customers the way this hostess did. If a business has a stroller policy, that’s fine, but you cannot pick and choose the customers that must follow your policy. I felt targeted and attacked. This establishment needs to teach their employees customer service!! DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT unless you want to take a chance of being verbally attacked by the hostess.
Rock n Roll memorabilia atmosphere, grass fed beef was very good. Fries were the best part of the meal. Everything is homemade down to the mayo and ketchup. I did not care for this homemade recipe ketchup. One person at our table had the OMG salad, it wasn’t served in a bowl it was served on a metal pizza pan and piled high making it difficult to control for our friend but it tasted great. My buddy had the “not so Reuben” and did not care for it and stated it lacked flavor and the bread was over toasted. My wife had the “build your own” burger and loved it.
Not a great experience. Our group had been looking at the menu for a while and already received our drinks when I asked our waiter about the taco special. He responded with a lot of attitude and continued to be curt the rest of our time at his table. I had gone to the restroom when we were first sat so I thought I might have missed the specials - since typically the waiter would share these at the very beginning so you could consider them while browsing the options - not right before taking your order after you’ve been sitting there for 20 minutes already. Apparently he was “getting there” and was annoyed I asked about something that literally says to ask your server about on the menu.Anyways, my order came out wrong. The correct order came out in less than two minutes and was cold and just not good. It had obviously been sitting for a while. The waiter didn’t apologize a single time or ask if it looked correct when he brought it out the second time. Just dropped and left. The waiter never asked if we needed anything or checked on us. We had to get his attention for things like napkins and refills.I wish other places were open later because I wouldn’t recommend eating here but know it is one of few options in the later evenings.
We are staying in town for the week and where very excited to finally eat out and get some good food. There was a wait but that’s no big deal as we all understand many places are understaffed right now. Our wings were great but everything else was very bad. Our waitress checked on us maybe 3 times at best and each time everyone was out of drinks or needed some sort of condiments, after finishing we waited so long I had to go in and ask for our check from a different waitress. I try to be understanding during these difficult time of recovering from COVID and all but this was crazy. Food quality and service was definitely not up to par
I wanted to like this place but sadly we were pretty disappointed. An hour long wait to get seated (which is fine I understand busy nights) and once seated it took over an hour and a half to get our food(2 people). This would have been fine if the food had been amazing but unfortunately the wings were dry, the tacos did not have the correct ingredients on it and the fries were lukewarm. Might be better on a less busy night but I will not be returning to find out.
I love rock music so I really wanted to love this place, but couldnt. Our appetizer (Brie artichoke dip) came out 20 minutes after our meals had arrived, and was room temperature despite being told it was freshly made. My husband said his wings were excellent, however the rest of us were very underwhelmed by the food - the dip was very runny and not flavorful and the buffalo chicken sandwiches and the worlds best salad were not terrible but not memorable. The table next to us also had trouble- only half their orders arrived on time and the server couldnt remember what items were ordered and had to return to their table twice to be reminded what was needed. We also thought a few times that our server forgot about us, given the lengthy waits. The atmosphere is really fun though, so if youre there for wings and sit inside, it will probably be a better experience.
Went here for dinner with 5 of my friends whilst on vacation. Unfortunately, aside from the service, nothing was appetizing about this restaurant. Every single one of us felt as though our food tasted like deep fried grease. After a couple of bites, we decided to just toss the rest and pay the bill and leave. It’s unfortunate because this place had great reviews but none of the food was newsworthy.Update to the owner: we didn’t want to waste any more time of our vacation so we just simply paid the bill so we could leave!
We anticipated eating at another local restaurant, but the wait was very long. So we walked down the street and found Fighting town Tavern. The menu looked good so we gave it a try. The food was unexpectedly AMAZING! We were hoping for the best but expected average. What we got was beyond what we could have imagined. It was fresh, and the flavors were unique but delicious. It’s like nothing we have ever had before - in a very good way. Apparently this is a well-kept secret in Blue Ridge! Our server Megan was super sweet and attentive. Give this place a try!
Waitress was attentive although she had many tables to take care of. The food was meh, ordered 2 Georgia pride medium both came out with no pink in them at all. This burger definitely needs some pinkness to it otherwise it is extremely dry. The waitress offered to have them remade. We said no, as we were hungry and it had taken awhile to get our food. Waitress good, food not worth it.
Was really hoping to try the wings, but after waiting 15 mins for a seat at the bar and another 15 mins after being handed a food menu we were informed by the bartender they won’t be serving any food at the bar because they were “too busy” in the kitchen.... took a good 20 mins to enjoy our pint of beer however the kitchen still wasn’t open for us.In the history of my wife’s 20 year career in the hospitality industry has she ever heard of a kitchen that stops taking orders because they are “too busy”.... unbelievable!
My friends and I came in to Blue Ridge to celebrate a friends birthday, and stay in a cabin nearby. We were very excited to give this establishment our money and support, as we noticed that the restaurant is a “safe place,” and that all are welcome. Unfortunately, our server Michelle was not very welcoming. At times I felt uncomfortable, like we were a bother, and she was quite rude. However, the food was enjoyable and we enjoyed the atmosphere!
This has by far been the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I’m a former waitress/bartender. The drinks were absolutely terrible and the food was awful, we asked for ranch but got blue cheese instead. Requested ranch again, never got it. We asked to have the drinks comped, they were not drinkable. They stated that it was “against” the law to comp alcohol. Which is not true. They said they would comp the food 50% and we only received 15% off. I never complain as I understand completely as someone who used to be in the service industry, but this place was absolute garbage. I don’t recommend it.
A friend had told us about the restaurant so on a recent visit to Blue Ridge we decided to try it for lunch. So glad we did. The burgers were really good but the highlight was the bacon Mac and cheese. So good! Our server, Nicole was wonderful. We would definitely recommend this place.
It was great! Service was excellent as was the food! I had the build your own burger cooked medium and my wife had the fish and chips. The burger was cooked perfectly and was one of the best burgers Ive ever had and her fish and chips were excellent. Nice light cod, not overwhelming and was very tasty. Our service was wonderful and took great care of us. We will come back!
Try their twisted tacos. Get 2 tacos and a side item. The contents of the taco changes every month. Good sweet tea. Good service. Chipotle coleslaw was a downer and the corn was alright. The fish and chips is a lot of food. I dare say enough for 2. If ordering fish and chips expect leftovers.
Very small place, so always a long wait. They tried to seat us at a dirty table, so we had to wait while they cleaned it. There was a huge spill under the table, had to wait while they mopped it. Waitress forgot our drinks, so waited about 15 minutes for those. Never got silverware, food came and we couldnt flag anyone down to get some. So I got up and got it myself. Food was ok, nothing to brag about to be honest. Place was just very dirty and that made me feel like the food I was eating was probably not handled properly either. Wont be going back.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Best place to eat at in Blue Ridge, Ga. Food was delicious and came out quickly. The staff was very attentive and the service was great. We had a couple of cocktails and they were very good too. Our 2 yr old daughter was obsessed with their homemade ketchup. One of the staff members came out and gifted us a free bottle of their ketchup for our little girl. If I could rate this place 10/10 I would. We will definitely be coming back to eat here again. If you are debating on checking this place out, do yourself a favor and go. You will not be disappointed.
Amazing experience! Went on a Sunday afternoon for a nice lunch/dinner. Food was great; everyone in the family enjoyed it! Music is loud; if you do not like metal or loud music maybe this is not the place for you. The “fish & chips” were spectacular with the fries! Would definitely recommend and come again!
Service was ok. Jack Daniels Burger was interesting. Sauce was not Jack Daniels sauce I expected, it was an apple pie like sauce. The grilled cheese sandwich was different. Not great. The fries looked really great but smelled and tasted slightly sweet, and were soggy.
If I could rate zero stars I would, avoid at all costs. Came in on a Saturday around 7 pm. Place was not even busy. Sat 10 min before being geeeted, server took our order and never came back to check on us. Food was not at all by the menu description as 2 of the four of us were not satisfied with the tasteless pork rinds and a simple hot dog on a bun. Asked for a manager from the host that was on her phone texting behind the host stand. Manager never came out but they did take off the food we complained about. We weren’t looking for free food, we wanted good service and was looking for great food as were here on vacation. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND
Food was great and the outdoor covered patio is dog friendly. You do have to go inside to put your name down/check in when your table is ready and dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant so if you are visiting alone with your dog this could be a problem. The patio can seem slighting cramped when busy but over all we had a great meal and we’re glad we could bring our fur baby with us!
The food took quit a while and was good but just barely warm when it arrived at the table. We had to get up several times to get our own straws, napkins and boxes although the place wasnt busy. The wings were the best part of the meal and probably the only thing Id order again.
Bar was unexpectedly small, but that can be forgiven, even though its a tavern. Stars were deducted strictly for the appetizer. When our nachos arrived, we werent being facetious by claiming that the beer cheese had been excluded. Upon further inspection, we found a small amount, albeit in the form of a watery mess underneath the mound of dry chips. We were actually able to fill a separate plate with the chips that were dry and untouched by any toppings. We requested a side of beer cheese, which arrived as a thin, bland sauce. Im hoping that the management takes this review as constructive, and therefore re-evaluates how the nachos are assembled. Its difficult to mess up such a simple dish.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to try this place. We decided to give it a try after two of the other restaurants we tried to eat at didn’t work out. At 7:20 several hours before they close, we were told that their wait time exceeded the time the kitchen was open. First off we didn’t see anyone but two people that possibly could have been waiting. Secondly, if the kitchen closes before the bar, that is understandable but post the kitchen hours. Lastly, if you are unable to accommodate any guests you should post this on the outside of the door.
Must have been an off night, it was a Saturday but man it was horrible. service was ok the food was absolutely terrible!!! Macaroni tasted like it sat in an oak barrel for years I had to spit it out… how does one mess up macaroni. The burgers we got would take the moisture out of the ocean I had to cover it with ranch to put it down . Drinks were good but that’s all I can say about that place.. save your money is great advice!!!
Ordered the hotdog and medium Jack Daniels burger. Jack Daniels burger came out well done and had no flavor to it whatsoever. Basically it tasted like an overcooked frozen burger patty with cheese and bun. One of the worst burgers I ever had in my 35 years. Hot dog was nothing special either.Manager gave us 1/2 off the burger that I could not even finish because it was so bad. The only reason why I didn’t send it back was because we were in a hurry and with a grumpy 3 year old.I don’t recommend this place at all.
Sat for about 10 minutes and no server showed up. The party that came in after us was being served food before anyone came to our table. I mentioned to another server that we hadn’t had anyone come by yet. Waited another 10 minutes and decided we would find a restaurant that wanted our money.
This was our first time going here, we didnt have much of a food option but we got there a little later and the kitchen was closing early due to short staff, but the food is absolutely amazing! The appetizers are big enough for two people to have as a Main course! We will definitely be going here again!!
My wife and I ate at Fightingtown today for lunch. We each bought a build-it yourself burger. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. Nic, our server, did a good job keeping an eye on us. The water had an odd taste so we were forced to buy beers. Oh darn. The prices were a bit high but I expect that in Blue Ridge. We will definitely return the next chance we get.
Would not recommend this so called “restaurant” at all to anyone. Waited 45 minutes for an appetizer, and over an hour for a burger I never got. Ordered a side of Mac and cheese with the burger, and that came out, but was barely warm. I would’ve gotten better service from a fast food restaurant. Was told by the manager that they were understaffed, but noticed 5-8 servers all around doing a lack luster job.
Great place for drinks and food while hanging out in Blue Ridge, GA. Well-made spirits and lots of choices on the drink menu. Craft beers and regular brews from many companies. I recommend a sandwich called the Bahn Jovi Dip, a variation of a bahn mi Vietnamese sandwich. Probably the best thing on the menu. Very cool atmosphere and you can purchase novelty t-shirts.
This was just a bar trying to play restaurant. We ordered an appetizer and requested no tomatoes due to a food allergy. They said this would be no problem. When we got it it had tomatoes. The waitress offered to remake it but after looking at it I canceled the order because it looked awful. The food we ordered was supposed to be gourmet burgers and sandwiches and they charged gourmet prices but the taste was not good. It was an overall dissatisfaction and I wont go back.
We waited about an hour to be seated after giving someone else our table. To find out we were not even on the list to be seated. Ordered drinks and drank at the bar table which was fine. After notifying the manager of what had happened we were offered a free appetizer and seated. Which was fine. However we placed an order and after 30 minutes still did not have our food and no one could explain what had happened. Paid our barn tab and left. After leaving the waiter/waitress ran out behind us and said we needed to pay our bar tab, which we had already done. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Tonight was my first and last time at this establishment. From my experience its a tourist trap restaurant. I do not believe Fightingtown Tavern would make it without the unknowing tourists. My burger was burned, not even warm and my fries were room temperature. My wife took a bite off her sandwich and said that it didnt taste right. Her fries were also room temperature. They took my order off the ticket but charged half price of the menu item that she ordered. I guess one bite goes a long way in their eyes. Waitress was ready for us to leave. I asked to speak to a manager but got tired of waiting and walked outside. I was told she came out after I left. I then drove to the Dairy Queen in Ellijay and got a much better burger and fries... If you eat there I do hope you get better service and food than we experienced.
Last Saturday we had dinner and our server Megan was fantastic. I had a cheeseburger with mac and cheese and it was tasty. I love Mac and cheese not a fan of burgers. My boyfriend had the Georgia’s pride burger which had a poached apple, he likes to mix different flavors, and apparently was delicious. I did not try it. The best part is that the porch is pet friendly!!
The food was mediocre at best. The environment was nothing like they described. My wife ordered her burger medium and it was extra well done, dry, and cold, as well as the fries. The brisket on my sandwich was tough, dry, and very salty. Service was pretty slow. We had a clear view of the kitchen. None of the kitchen staff were wearing gloves or face masks. The wait staff took their masks off as soon as they got back to the kitchen area. Our waitress emptied the trash several times while we sat there (no gloves and didn’t see her wash her hands). It was very crowded. I don’t know what Georgia’s current restaurant restrictions are (December 2020), but tables were definitely not 6 feet apart. We’ve never felt unsafe while dining out during this pandemic, but we felt more and more unsafe the longer we sat there. I’m realizing as I’m writing this review that we should have just left before we even got our food. We never asked for a manager or complained, but we really didn’t want to stay in there any longer. I almost just left $40 (which was more than it cost with tip) on the table and walked out. The baked beans had good flavor (but were room temperature), the onions on my wife’s burger were good, and it didn’t cost a lot of money. Those are about the only good things I could say about this restaurant.
This place has really good fresh burgers and craft beer. Must have an appreciation of old school rock since they blast it from the speakers. This place stays really busy. The last time we were in Blue Ridge there was a lengthy wait. This time was not very long. Well worth returning.
Two stars for getting in a group of 9 in less than 30 minutes on a Saturday. Otherwise, this was our second time being disappointed with this restaurant. The first visit was several months ago. We walked in an hour before they closed and they treated us like an inconvenience that was in their way of closing sections of the restaurant. We ate quickly and left. This time (today), I asked them if they would mind turning the music down a little just while we were there, because it was loud and triggering my daughter to have a nonepileptic seizure. They shrugged it off and wouldnt do it, so we had to pay for our drinks and leave. I know its a tavern, but there were only a few other people inside and most of them were families. I also recognize the difficulties Covid has placed on restaurants and other small businesses, but simple kindness and consideration were easy fixes for both scenarios if they wanted the patronage. We will not return or recommend to anyone moving forward.
We went for lunch around 2:00 on Sunday. We sat at the bar and had great service. The food was great also. We both had the Buffalo Chicken grilled cheese. I had the mexican corn and my husband had the soup. All of it was great! Would definitely return and recommend to others.
Came here last night while walking around Downtown Blue Ridge. It was my first time here and was attracted to the place by their unapologetic menus, the loud rock music coming from inside, the decor, and the overall vibe of the place. We walked up to the hostess who was a young woman that definitely could use some brushing up in the personality department. No smiles. Often one word responses when asked questions typical of a 1st time customer, and a general look of boredom on her face.We put our name in for an outdoor table and was told it would be a 20 minutes wait. We opted to get a beer from the bar and that was the best experience of the whole night because everything after that was terrible. The bar tender was attentive, quick to make our drinks, and friendly. She is the only reason Im not giving a 1 star.We were sat at our table which was still being actively cleaned from the previous customers. A waitress took our initial order for water for the table while we looked over the menus and gave some recommendations on what to order. We never saw her again after that. 20 minutes later, a very whimsical character came to our table, grabbed all of the napkins off of our table at once and used them to write down our order. He introduced himself as our new server and that our previous one who disappeared had a panic attack. He took our order for our appetizer, 10 wings, and 3 beers. To make the rest of the story short, 20 minutes later those 3 beers came followed by another 30 minutes without the wings. 50 minutes had gone by since we ordered just an appetizer and they still havent arrived and our new server wasnt seen again either.Out of frustration, I got up to find ANY employee since they all seemed to have vanished and there was hardly anyone even there. Inside was totally vacant except for a small group at the bar and we were one of 3 groups outside. No staff anywhere.I eventually tracked down a random server and explained how long we had been waiting for just an appetizer, how our sever has changed over twice and now both of them are essentially ghosts, and that we basically were ready to pay for our drinks and leave.Just so happens, this is when the wings were finally coming out from the back. Wings were the worst Ive ever seen. Visibly cooked so long or sat under a heat lamp for so long that It sucked every ounce of moisture they one had from them. Completely bone dry.The server repeatedly apologized and offered the wings on the house which we accepted anyway despite them looking terrible because we were all absolutely starving at that point with nothing but beer in our bellies. We signed the check for the beers and promptly left.So many things wrong here. Unfriendly hostess, extremely slow servers who all seem chaotic and unorganized, extremely slow kitchen staff, and dirt-poor food quality. The beers were good and quick to deliver at the bar though.Maybe come for a beer and the atmosphere with some friends but absolutely avoid ordering any food. I think this place single handedly was the worst Ive ever been in in terms of sheer lack of care exhibited by virtually all of the staff. Some serious training needs to be done here by the hands of whoever owns this place. The night ended with complete disappointment with what couldve been a great time and finding a new favorite place to eat and drink in Blue Ridge.
This place is very cool. They have a very fun unique theme in the restaurant. Also the terrace has a nice street view and the service is super super good. The place is clean and they offer great beers. The food is not the best, i got the tortilla something that is like nachos and the chorizo was really bad and the plate very simple, it looked sad. Also the plates are this metal pans which had some dry soup on it.The french fries are ok.Besides that i do recommend to visit for some drinks. Also pricing is good.
Overall the food and service was good. The rock and roll memorabilia was awesome. My burger and fries was excellent. Others in my party had fish and chips, tacos, grilled cheese, and a reuben sandwich.A few things bothered me. First was social distancing as we sat inside due to it being a bit cool outside. We were a party of 6 and the two tables of guests next to us was too close. I could have easily tapped the shoulders of people at those tables.A few things to improve on. The menu was printed in some fonts that were extremely difficult to read!!! That made it extremely difficult to place an order. The waiter had to keep coming back because it took us so long to read the menu. Next the salsa was for chips and dip was fair, but really it tasted like watered down tomato sauce with a few spices. Finally the ketchup was terrible. Ive been in a number of restaurants with homemade ketchup. You need to go back to developing another ketchup or use Heinz. Even the waiter agreed it wasnt a great recipe. I think its a nice place. But please consider my comments and make some improvements.
The food is below par. Great environment and staff, but the rest is just not good.. Ive been here many times and at this point I only order apps and drinks. I usually enjoy the drinks here but I had 2 today and both tasted like water.. Great place for beers and sports but I wouldnt stay for the food.
I dont do really negative reviews often at all! BUT avoid this place unless you want to eat below substandard food. We ate at lunch on a Friday. I dont know if lunch was the difference? I had the Kobe hotdog with French fries and potato soup. The hotdog had a good taste best I could tell ( it was cooked so dry it was like eating shoe leather!) The French fries looked and tasted like they were fried the day before and refried for serving to us! (DRY AND TOUGH) The potato soup was brown looking soup, no potatoes! The prices were ridiculous for the nastiness of the food. I hate to do negative reviews but being a former owner of a restaurant I would want to know! There were 5 in our party. 4 adults and 1 toddler. We all agreed that it was the worst food we ever had eating out! Our server (a guy) was so busy socializing at the bar with fellow workers he didnt notice when we needed something (water etc) at our table. We went early and they were not busy!
Great menu and all round vibe but......poor service. Not crowded. Plenty of staff. Waited over an hour for food. The staff ordered about 10 pizza hut pizzas and were more concerned about their lunch. Food was cold and waited 15 minutes just for a check. Asked for Mgr. Was not one on duty per staff.Disappointed in owners response. Pizza ordered was not after long day of work, it was beginning of lunch rush. As a business owner feed back on my employees ignoring customers and goofing off is always taken seriously . There is no excuse for no management present or poor service. Maybe next time we too will order pizza hut.
We came in on a Tuesday, there were plenty of open tables but we were told there was a 20-30 minute wait. We waited. Kind of wish we didn’t.Let’s start with the good...Service was great. We had a very friendly and attentive server. We ordered Grilled Shrimp with corn on the cob and fries, tacos with Mexican street corn and bacon, three cheese Mac & Cheese. The shrimp was fine, but for the price I would have preferred it shelled. The tacos were fine. The fries were obviously pre cooked and were under the warming lamp for quite a while. Dry, hard and flavorless. The “homemade ketchup” was nothing more than watery tomato sauce with a bit of cinnamon. Both the corn on the cob and Mexican street corn were clearly precooked a long time ago and were sooooo chewy, just inedible. The Bacon, three cheese Mac & cheese was a flavorless mess. Like mushy cardboard in mystery stuff. Would not recommend.Won’t be back.
Visiting from Florida and this place was recommended to us. Our server was Jessica Price and she was WONDERFUL!!! 1 person ordered the psycho burger, which had wax paper from the cheese still in the middle. Our server took it, someone else came out and told us the burger was comped, even though the entire thing was still eaten (just wax paper, right?). Cool. Another burger was ordered medium and came out so well done it was inedible. It was completely dry and hard to chew. It was spit out. It was sent back and we asked to have a new one cooked medium and to go. It came out within 5 minutes of sending back the first one, so we cut into it. It was completely raw on the inside, still cold. It was, yet again and obviously, completely inedible. It was completely unacceptable and when the manager (I think?) came out she seemed annoyed and irritated that we complained about the burger again. It was comped, but at that point we were completely frustrated. We saw multiple other tables sending back food as well. Maybe it was an off night? But to have a completely raw burger sent to a table was unacceptable. I never send food back and I never leave bad reviews because I know people have off nights, but this was just too unacceptable not to put out there, especially after reading some of the other negative reviews posted recently.Again, our server was amazing!!! She was so apologetic and did everything right.
Had a very bad experience as the drinks came out so late. We ordered the kids meals with the app and they never showed up. The kids meals finally arrived when the adults were all done eating their meals. The only positive were the pork rinds for appetizers and the waitresses and Sabrina that helped out our server that seems to not know what he was doing. Probably wasnt his fault, maybe didnt get rhe adequate training. Good luck to the next patrons
Ill try to be concise. So much I could say. Server had a sour attitude from the moment we were seated. Very slow service. Wife tried to order a whiskey flight. Menu clearly says pick any 4 from the list below. Our server said, We dont have half of the ones listed on our menu. My wife picked her 4, and the server returned a couple minutes later and said, We dont have two of them. So, my wife selected 2 more. She came back again and said, You cant have this one - its excluded from the whiskey flight. Im not allowed to ring that one in. So, my wife ordered a mixed drink. When our lunch order was brought to the table, the rest of our group received their orders. I was told mine would be a couple extra minutes. About 10 minutes later, the server came by and asked if she could bring me some fries to munch on, since my wings were going to still take several more minutes. Literally - by the time my wings came out, everyone in our group had finished their meals. On top of that, the wing order was incorrect. So, I had to wait another 15 minutes for some of the wings that they didnt bring out. Ultimately, they comped my meal, but we were there for two hours - and the last hour was me waiting for my food.
They advertised Trivia Tuesday at 7 pm on a chalkboard in front of the building. We arrived on Tuesday a little before seven and the advertisement for Trivia is still in front. We go to the door of the restaurant and are greeted with a sign that says seating ends at 6:30 pm. We ask the hostess if we can sit at the bar for trivia and she tells us that they no longer do trivia. Why keep the sign out for customers advertising an event that you know no longer occurs on the night it is supposed to occur? We drove thirty minutes to attend trivia and we couldn’t even eat there as they stopped seating customers at 6:30. Poor business practice and management.
Good experience on the food front - delicious. The waitress was a bit off. She mentioned her trip to FL which raised COVID concerns since she was working right after returning. She also mentioned inappropriate things to a 10 year old - like the fact that she is trying to get pregnant. It was awkward and weird. But she brought our food on time and no problems with the order. Just a bit strange.
Every mountain town has that one dive bar that does bar food in a special non-standard way. This is that place in Blue Ridge. Great food, great beer selection, awesome townie vibe. And its a dive but dont be turned off. I noticed really great hygiene practices and clean bathrooms.
The food is definitely original and inventive. I do so wish it was cleaner. The patio area needs a nice pressure wash and the tables and chairs a real good cleaning. The floor, our chairs and table were sticky. The floors could be tolerable but even after wiping our chairs and table stayed sticky. But the food was good with good cocktails and a good beer selection.
This is my go-to restaurant in Blue Ridge. Food is good and there is plenty of motorcycle parking out front. Yesterday (11/28/2020) the town was full of visitors, as was the tavern.I sat at the bar where Jackie took my order. She let me sample several craft beers before I chose one.The missing star is because 30 minutes after placing my order, I still had no food. When I tried to pay for my beer and find somewhere else to eat, Jackie went to the kitchen and returned with my lunch. The Jack Daniels hamburger was good, fries luke-warm.Overall the staff is friendly, beer is cold, food is good and parking is convenient, but Im concerned that my slow order and other negative reviews this week could mean a change for the worse. What a waste that would be!
Didnt get to eat - the heavy metal music blaring from the speakers was overwhelming. I understand they have to hire folks who may like that music, but do you think the customers do? I mentioned it to the staff. They looked at me like I was crazy. One said is he serious? Surprising for a tourist town restaurant.
Never heard of a bar not serving food at 7 pm.Love to read your sarcastic remarks and excuses. Seems you are very defensive when you get a bad rating. Maybe fire up your stove instead of stalking your reviews.🤷Also, your hostess turned down about three large groups including us. Maybe pay some overtime?Whisky and Water was great. Covid must not be affecting them as much.🤣
Food was good, but the horrible service is why Im giving 1 star. If I could give zero I would. From the time the hostess sat my party of 6 down it was down hill from there. Waitress was lacking general knowledge of being a server. When you as a customer have to go to the wait station to get your own napkins, straws, and condiments then theres a problem. She would dissappear and not come around. Had to go to the bar and get another beer cause she was no where to be found. Then she brought our checks out and said it was a pleasure. The other customers were able to pay for their meal at the table, but again I had to take the 3 checks to the bartender so we could pay. I asked to speak with a manager, when he came up I asked if he was the manager and he said unfortunately I am. After speaking with him nothing was offered to us for our horrible evening. SO I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE. Go to Chesters, the 3 hour wait would have been better than what we went through tonight.
The only reason it gets 2 stars is bc the server was great. The food is terrible! The table next to us even left mid meal. They tout the fact they make all their own sauces and whatever, I understand that may be the hip thing to do but come on. Children like regular ranch and regular ketchup. Not the bar food chefs (line cook) take on some weird sauce. Honestly, if you have kids, stay away. If your looking for a drink, the selection seemed fine and is just a bit over priced. Will never go back and I hope the owners take the advice of the many complaints they get on their condiments.
My husband and I were visiting Blue Ridge and were looking forward to trying Fightingtown Tavern. We tried Friday about 2 PM, but there was a long wait so we decided to try again Saturday first thing when they open. Come Saturday we arrived at 11 AM when they stated they opened, or so we thought. Upon walking in, the girl who was hosting loudly exclaimed that they weren’t opened yet and not ready for customers. Another girl, who ended up being our waitress told us to follow her in and notified the hostess that in fact it was 11. Both my husband and I felt awkward and unwelcome. My husband insisted we stay and give them a try since we had been looking forward to it. Our food came out quickly, and was very good! I just wish our whole experience was as good as the food was. Customer service needs to improve!
Nice spot, cool atmosphere but food is not...45min wait. Food took a long time and came out barely warm. Ive tried it a few times over the past year and experience has been about the same. Dont know if its covid/staff related (havent been there pre) but will stick to beverages if I go back.
I wanted to like Fightingtown Tavern, I really did. Nice location, nice deck, nice menu, friendly staff. Sat at the bar, good service, so so liquor selection for my taste, but I can live with that. We both ordered hamburgers that sounded good, one medium, one medium well. Both came out undercooked, with the medium one basically raw thru most of the patty, and the medium well one cooked medium rare. Staff and manager handled it well, expedited a new burger for the raw one and knocked off half the price. The new burger came out on the rare side of medium rare. Did not say anything about this burger as it was editable, unlike the raw one. Fightingtown Tavern has everything to be a success - except for the grill chef. Heres to hoping this was just the chef having a bad Friday evening and not a common occurrance.
Food was really good! Would be five stars, but we waited for 10 mins at the table before anyone came by to take our drink orders. The rest of the meal was more of the same. Slow to get drinks, take our orders, and give/pickup the check. Everything else was good, though there was a constant line for the only two bathrooms.
We were seated, after about 20 mins we still were not even asked what drinks we wanted. Had to go get someone.. we ordered our drinks and food at the same time. Waited another hour and a half for our food. It was not busy. We were told that the kitchen just got behind but we saw 2 tables come and go while we were waiting. Really disappointed.Edit: Changing from 1 star to 3 for quick customer service online. Dont know when Ill be back in the area though so I dont think Ill need help.
Out of towners visiting to raft. For starters, we waited an hour & half for a table. The burgers were dry, the fries were cold, ham & cheese w/ apple butter was nasty. One member of our party sent her Bon Jovi dish back. Party of 13, about half of us were pleased. The waitress got snappy about the $0.75 charge for a subbed blue cheese vs ranch (which had way too much dill for our taste) and insisted it wasnt subbed. The overall wait, experience nor food was worth the gratuity on the check for our party.
Waited 1 hr on a Monday afternoon only to wait another hour for 2 cold cheeseburgers and a kids hotdog. They brought the fries out later than the meal for some odd reason? Half of the burger wasnt even cooked! When pointed out to the server she acknowledged and then promptly brought the $41 check. So after wasting an entire afternoon, we left and immediately went to Cantaberry for real service and food.
My family and I are tourists from florida and this is by far the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Whatever you do, do NOT get the buffalo chicken grilled cheese. unless you want cold chicken salad with buffalo sauce on some bread. The fish tasted like cheap microwaveable fish from walmart. I’ve never written a review on a restaurant before but I just had to warn others about the ATROCITY of a “restaurant” this is. even the people behind us didn’t like their meals. If I could give zero stars, I would. I can’t wait for the owner to respond back to this review because he/she just loves to make it seem like everyone is lying about their bad experience. Truly, truly embarrassing.

2022-06-29This is the best burger you will get anywhere in North GA hands down. Great beer selection, even better bourbon selection. The patio is awesome overlooking downtown Blueridge. Service is always great. My favorite place to ride to every weekend.

2022-06-06We got the mega death burger and shared it. It was a pretty big burger with a side of fries. It has two eggs on it four pieces of bacon and I believe it has four slices of cheddar and four slices of pepper jack. Its$32. I would come back.

2022-06-14The best! Food & drinks were so good!!! I ordered the taco of the day, which was mahi-mahi, and my husband had a BBQ bacon burger. The gin they used for my gin & tonic was unbelievably good - so smooth. The atmosphere was fun and our waitress, Taylor, was absolutely the sweetest person :-) To the owners: Thank you for a great evening.

2021-10-27A great dining experience that resembles Hard Rock Cafe without being touristy or corporate. The burgers were decent and the cheese sandwich and Reubens are HUGE. Lots of food that’s reasonably priced. Good beer on draft from local breweries. Will definitely be back.

2021-09-08Absolutely wonderful dining experience! We decided to go out for dinner for our first night in town. Xavier was fantastic and consistently checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed! We had the Mini Mammoth for our appetizer and it was fantastic!! Everything on the menu looked amazing but we ended up getting the twisted tacos and the h.o.b n.o.b and we were very pleased!

2021-09-16Nice upper deck outdoor seating area that overlooks the street. Pool tables, full bar, friendly staff.I ordered fish and chips, extra crispy, and they listened and made the fish super crunchy. It was delicious. The street corn was flavorless and a miss compared to what you expect for that item. The pig skin cracklin side was so-so and you get a large quantity. Burgers were good. Hotdog was good. The rueben was also good.

2021-10-26Came on a weeknight at 5:40p. 2 of us.Took a couple minutes for our server to greet us, but she was friendly and came back a couple minutes later to take our drink order which we gave with an app order for the Artichoke, Arugula & Brie dip.Ordered our entrees a few minutes later.Meanwhile …20 min after we had ordered our entree, our appetizer finally arrived. Entrees weren’t much better as the two medium-done burgers came 45 minutes after they were ordered. That’s the big stuff. The detail were lacking as well as we had to ask for flatware, napkins, ketchup, salt, and more.Oh, and the PUNEY “lettuce” they put on the burger may have well been a garden weed. Putting green leaf lettuce under a hot 1/2 lb patty is never gonna work.Summary: order a beer at the bar and go home. Try another place before coming here. 3 stars because of covid otherwise would have been 2.Disclosure: they did offer to pay for the app, but never acknowledged how long the burgers took.

2021-10-06Amazing Burgers and food here! The Mammoth Fries were delicious as well as the Georgias Pride, Jack Daniels, and Psycho Burger of the month and a friend had the fish and chips and loved it also. Definitely good place to eat and I am picky about my burgers!

2022-05-08We ate here for dinner 05/07/2022. It looked like a super cool eatery and I was drawn in by the fresh menu and no freezer use they advertised. I know places are struggling with help and food but overall the food was just blah. We ordered an appetizer than never came to the table. Two of our sides were wrong so they had to correct them. But all of our sides were gross. We had the Mexican street corn and it tasted like frozen boiled corn that is cheap, the fries I was accidentally given were terrible. My burger was so salty I almost could not eat it. Left more than half. My husband ordered the beans that were not good and accidentally given mac and cheese that was not good. The waitress that took our order never wrote what we wanted down and the bill was completely wrong for the sides. So the error I believe was hers. Overall it was a bust on trying a new place. I really wanted to love this place, but I wouldn’t recommend it for eating. The vibe is cool so it might be good for outside seating with just drinks if you are looking for that sort of thing.

2022-04-23Fightingtown Tavern was a delicious last minute stop during our visit to Blue Ridge! The menu was eclectic, which made for a surprising good time! I had their Psychotic Burger (which changes on a monthly basis) The burger was cooked to perfection and the chili and beer cheese combo made for a delicious combo! I paired the cheeseburger with the bacon Mac and cheese, which was another hit! Our table also had an order of fries and my goodness were they huge! It was clear the fries were freshly cut and the amount of salt was perfect! If I’m in Blue Ridge again, I will definitely return.
