Fantastic place to grab lunch or meets to take home and grill. Super friendly and very helpful staff. Awesome selection and good prices, especially considering what you are getting. Took the family here and did not regret it. Will be going back at our next opportunity.
Heard good reviews about this place recently and have been wanting to try some new restaurants. It did not disappoint! When you walk in, the smell of the meat and spices leave your mouth watering. I got the Reuben sandwich, and my son got a traditional bratwurst. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will be going back soon to buy some of their bratwursts and potato salads to take home. Definitely a must try!
Excellent German market! Knockwurst was delicious. Had a couple of grilled brats for lunch very yummy! Way more friendly than the pizza place. Next door!

Had the 4x4 bratwurst today, it was excellent. Small shop limited seating with a great selection of bratwurst, at least six different kinds and other German meats. You can purchase the meat to take home or the bratwurst can be prepared for you.
This is one of the best brats in the world. I had a Popeyes chix sandwich before and was planning on sharing a brat, but just ate a whole one on my own. The first snap of the casing with the juices oozing down my chin is so addicting. They grill the brats and sausages out front on Fri and Sat lunch and the process is a little confusing because you need to purchase a ticket for the sausage inside the store. You wont regret eating this sausage. The German potato salad is really delicious too.

Just stepping into this shop is great experience, the aromas surround you and you wont want to leave! The selection will make you want one of each. They should hand out drool bibs at the door.
Favorite local place for sausages. Ive tried three different kinds and all of them were excellent. As well everyone who works there has been very friendly and helpful. I stop here every chance I get.

Elke runs a wonderful shop! We ate some delicious bacon/beer brats for supper last night. Omas potato salad was the best Ive ever had. I cant wait to try the pork chops that looked amazing and the aroma was out of this world. Oh, and pretzels! Dont leave without a few warm soft pretzels too. (Hint...ask for some spicy mustard to go with the twisted golden delights.).Although the place was very busy, multiple staff made sure my kids and I had great experience. I will be a regular.
Amazing family run business with the best Brauts around. Hot-n-spicy or milder fruit enhanced concoctions, you cant go wrong but if youre looking for a suggestion try the apple or peach brauts for a unique experience!

Best doner weve had outside of Germany. Staff were excellent, and we ordered sausages we cant wait to try. Youre in rural GA, so small venue, many mask-less people, but what a great lunch!

Im so glad that one day in 2017, traveling between Atlanta and the mountains for work, I told Google to avoid highways. I was stressed out and hungry, and suddenly I was in a cute historic downtown with a butterfly garden at city hall and this great place to eat. It became part of my routine, every time I had to go north for work, stop here, get Döner to go and enjoy it in a nearby park, and then get a bunch of sausage or burgers to take home to my husband. Usually I would pick from the sale freezer to narrow my choices and try something new. Everything was always excellent.I went back for the first time in two years yesterday, and everything is still excellent.A mix of classics and creative things like sausage made with fruit. Ive had blueberry, peach, and pumpkin spice. Everything is good. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.It is worth the detour from the highway and even the risk of sitting longer in rush hour!
This place is both very friendly and the quality of the food is amazing. Ive tried a wide range of their offerings and everything is good. If you are not sure of what you want then they will let you have a sample. Their Reuben sandwich is most likely going to be the best one you ever had. It would be more convenient if they had more seating, but if its a nice day then you can walk right down the street and sit at the open-air picnic tables there in Ball Ground. This is real German food made by the owners. Highly recommended.
Hidden gem and flavorful smoked pork chops both with and without bone are a must. Sausages of all varieties were to be had and were available both cooked and raw.
Smoked pork chops and liverwurst are why we drive across two counties to stock up there. Everything is great, but these are true standouts!
First time here and well worth it. All sausages and prepared food are freshly made in house. Several meals are made to go. Tried the Omas potato salad and it was a winner. Brats are all freshly made and on weekends are grilled outside. I had the Döner sandwich and it was enough to even share. Great taste. Give this place a try you won’t be disappointed.
This is a super place in the small town of Ball Ground, Ga. Elke and Annette Werner of Frankfurt Döner & Meats are such great hosts and you will be amazed at the variety and quality of the items they serve here. Make sure to try the Beef Goulash when it is available!!!! Its hard to have a favorite item here but I keep trying to find it...
Every time I go to Germany, I joke that döner is my favorite German food. The döner here was as good as the ones Ive eaten in Kaiserslautern. The Reuben was delicious, though a little more sauerkraut would have been welcome. After lunch we sampled their huge selection of sausages. We walked out with about 10 different meats, gouda bacon mac and cheese, and the remains of our German and heaven on earth potato salads. We will definitely make the drive back to Ball Ground!

Numerous varieties of Sausages - excellent! We also bought their smoked pork chops -WOW! Family-owned by the most wonderful people. Definitely worth the drive!
I have been going here for awhile now, and going through my feed as a local guides, I cant believe I havent reviewed this great establishment yet!Amongst my cadre of friends, I am known as the sausage king, (for reasons I will not be going into,) so suffice to say, I know sausage. These guys have some of the best sausages I have had here in the states.If you have the time, go on a Saturday around lunchtime and they will be grilling out front of their store. You will not be disappointed. The last time I was there I think I had a peach/habanero sausage or something like that and it was amazing.All on all, I highly recommend you try this place, great people and great sausage.
Wow!! Every single time!We have been going here for quite some time. Homemade sausages cooked outside the shop are awesome! We try new flavors every time. Son of a peach is especially a favorite!!Today we did something a little different.... We were buying some sausage to bring home and decided to go off the board and pick up a couple of smoked pork chops. I cannot express how wonderful, tender and flavorful they were. Weve never had anything better. An almost spiritual experience!! Fyi...we just cooked them on the grill for 15 to 20 min.You will not be disappointed here. The best place, real food made by real people that take pride in what they are doing.
This place has the best selection of sausages, bratwurst varieties and German favorites! They let you try samples of just about everything there. It smells amazing inside. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well! We definitely recommend them!
I stopped by yesterday to pick up some hamburger meat off of a recommendation from a friend. I will tell you this, it was one of the best seasoned hamburgers I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to try the sausage and many other items on hand. Also, the employees were very friendly and willing to help 👍🏻👍🏻
We love this place, its an absolute gem just a little bit off the highway. An incredible German butcher with an awesome selection of different bratwurst and some other more traditional cuts of meat.I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Swing by and get some great food and try something thats a little culturally different.
Great place to stop in Ballground, GA. Old world feeling when one can actually converse with the owner and know her name. Elki makes her own sausages and Omas potato salad. We bought several different kinds of sausage to bring home.
For an authentic German food experience, you wont find much of anything like Frankfurt Döner & Meats. They have an incredible selection of burgers, pork chops, steaks, sausages, and other german meats all prepared fresh for you to choose from. Theres also potato salad, freshly prepared meals for you to take home, and desserts. Also, dont forget the döner. The owner is super friendly and very helpful. Just a wonderful place to eat and visit. Pick you up some German chocolate and sauces on your way out. Go visit here as you wont regret it!
I went here because of the sign of a life changing sandwich and the reviews that so so many people have said was such an amazing sandwich. I tried the doner... it was tasty but nothing Id return for.
I have driven up here twice now. Tried 3 different kinds of sausage and wurst on each trip. All are good and would eat any of them again. There is not a bad item in the meat cooler. Dont forget to grab a random one being cooked outside on the grille. A hidden gem in the various mac and cheese options in the cooler.

I love this market! Their authentic German food is fresh and delicious. They absolutely have the best Reuben around. Their veggie sandwich is good, too. It comes fully loaded. The sausages are great, too! Try the potato salad. My husband loved the southern, I love the German. If you have room after that, which I doubt, try some cookies or one of their many desserts. You wont be disappointed!
Best Damn sandwich!!! There is a sign outside of the shop that says Life Changing Sandwich and Im not sure if it changed my life, but it came pretty close.I spent some time in Munich recently, and have been looking for a Doner sandwich since I got back. This is the closest place to Atlanta that Ive found....well worth the drive. They use Angus beef instead of the more traditional lamb and chicken, and it totally works. I bought an extra sandwich to go for later, and also bought a pound of the meat to make more at home. We will probably be making the nearly hour long drive to get this sandwich again next week.

Edit: returned again, bought a variety of sausages to bring home and grill. The bratwurst are great, and the hot dogs are one of the best around, according to my hot dog fanatic family. Talked shop with the staff about their products and how they are made, these ladies and gentleman know their stuff. Still docking a star just because no dining room and menu doesnt show everything they have that day, and no prices... But as i said they are very friendly and will go over everything with you, i just hope they arent repeating themselves all day! They ran a sale on Sunday for bratwurst on buns, and all sausages were on sale that day as well. Will be back often.-----Doner and Reuben were great, many varieties of hot dog and house made sausages with interesting ingredients. No place to sit inside, and menu isnt totally clear but staff was friendly and happy to discuss whats good that day. Guy on a grill outside grilling whatever sausage you order, with a condiment table to dress to your liking -try the curry ketchup. Desserts are homemade.We have passed this place returning from Ellijay, and while at nearby beautiful Gibbs Gardens -make a day trip out of it. Will be back again soon.

Hands down one of my favorite places to eat! It is also the only place Ill buy my meat from. This is as authentic as you can get the prices are reasonable and the food is worthy of an award. The people are amazing. Its an all around good experience. If your looking for good authentic reasonably price delicious food this is a must stop. Had this for the first time last weekend. My family and I ordered the gyros and potato salad. We have known about this place for years and finally tried it.I am now mad due to the deprivation that my taste buds have had. Great place, great food. We are making up for lost time, we are going again this weekend. :)
Excellent customer service, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was our first time shopping here and everything looked delicious. We bought one of every sausage variety so that we would know what our favorites are. We also bought steak, burgers and smoke pork chops, we couldnt resist.
I just made gumbo with the andouille sausage that I bought here yesterday and it is to die for! I also loved that I could buy just enough for the recipe. Im new to the area, and I know Ill be looking for reasons to visit Ball Ground at the end of the week moving forward.
This is the best food North of Atlanta.I have been getting the finest meats to take hone from this jewel since it opened. Every time i am in the area I will take whoever is with me there to try there Donner. Best lunch you will ever find for the price. Just amazing.
So much good food here. I always get a German style doner and I usually get something to take home from the butchers case. Land Jaeger is phenomenal. I think my favorite sausage is the 4x4. The smoked pork chops are incredible too

Frankfurt Doner & Meats is a unique and all-around great restaurant/butcher shop. If you find yourself craving authentic bratwurst and Doner, you wont go wrong coming here! The store front is somewhat small, so seating is limited.The real star of the show is the wide selection of sausages and meats that you might find in a German butcher shop! The knockwurst and bratwurst, when cooked on a hot skillet, are exactly like what I remembered having in Germany!This is all around a great shop - I recommend you stop in if youre in the area and a fan of good German food!
This place is off the charts! Happy to be only a couple of mins away from such a quality product and a friendly fun staff. A fantastic selection of meats and side items. I always look forward to trying something new there.

Frankfurt has the best sandwich in Ball Ground! Maybe in the world. They grill sausages on Sundays too. Oh, and amazing potato salad. Its not a full service restaurant, more deli style. The people that run it are so nice and they do all the processing in house so its fresh, pretty rare these days. Highly recommended! But be careful, youll start craving their döner.
So delighted to have stumbled upon this wonderfully unique deli! We had the pleasure of trying the Ruben, Doner pita sandwich and two different styles of potato salad. The ruben was probably one the best we have ever had.... and we love Rubens! Besides the excellent food, the staff was wonderful and very hospitable. We will definately be back!
This is an OMG place to eatSandwiches are big enough to share and they are delicious and homemade. The potato salad and brats also were good. They had wonderful looking desserts that I wouldnt let my poor husband have. Really a super place

This is the best German butcher shop I have ever seen. Their sausages are a brand new experience. There is nothing in your standard grocery store that would even qualify as the same kind of food. Sausages here are much leaner and more flavorful than American offerings, such as Johnsonville. Try the blueberry brätwurst and the apple brätwurst. If you like spicy, they have a habanero peach brätwurst that is divine. I have tried about half of their sausages so far and have yet to find one that is lacking in quality. The sausages are made fresh in shop and they often change which sausages are made from day to day. When you come for the first time, they offer samples and I definitely suggest that you bring home some of each sausage so that you can discover new flavors and new favorites! Make sure you have an instant read thermometer to make sure you dont overcook the sausages and cook them to an internal temperature of 165°F. Overcooking sausages of this quality would rob you of a unique and wonderful culinary experience! If you have any questions about sides, ask the owner. She us friendly and knowledgeable. Also, she is German, so you dont have to worry about nonsense advice from people who arent German and didnt grow up with the food.If you want some sauerkraut, they have authentic fermented sauerkraut here that tastes much better than the tart vinegar pickled varieties that you see in most grocery stores.If you like bologna, try the leberkäse. It is a similar product, but much more flavorful and of much higher quality. Frankfurters are likewise a similar concept to hotdogs, but of much higher quality and flavor. They are probably the sausage that once inspired the creation of the hotdog. There are a lot of options to make special hamburgers at cookouts, but hotdog lovers are often stuck with the same boring hotdog. If you want something special for the hotdog lovers at your cookout, try cooking up some frankfurters, instead.The döners here are also beyond comparison to anything else in the Atlanta area. A döner is the German form of a gyro and is available in either spicy, or regular. I have had both and both are outstanding. I will update this review as I have a chance to try more things from this unique and wonderful shop.
Went in here the other day and decided to try the Ruiben and I am going to just tell you it was the best one Ive ever eaten, this sandwich was amazing... I will definatly be going back to try the other sandwiches they offer and some of their custom sausages, I was truly amazed at the food and service...

Always awesome...Food and staff!!! We come in from Birmingham, AL approximately 3 times a year and we have to stock up every time we come. They have never produced a bad thing. Keep up the awesome job!! Old town atmosphere is a plus. Who needs a dining room? Walk around the little quaint town as you much.
Stopped on our way through Ball Ground today and had the Doner. It was very good and the quality of everything looked very good. Will be going back!
This place is great! The staff is fantastic and so friendly! I have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered here and like picking up brats to cookout with friends on the weekends too. It is small and quaint and I love that about it!
WOW!! Just WOW!! The people working there are amazing!! There is no doubt they hand make everything because they can give you every detail. They had 5-6 different meats on a sample tray and even gave us a few samples from the meat case! The 4x4 sausages we had them grill were excellent and the rolls they use were crisped on the grill too. Best roll I have ever had with a sausage dog. Great spot for lunch. Tried two different potato salads and the Heaven and Earth was the best. The smoked pork chops are like none other. We took one home and just cooked it in a skillet with bacon grease for 5 minutes and HOLY COW!! Best pork chop ever! On our way out of town we stopped again (actually called in an order) because the day before, while ordering or 4x4s, they made and handed out samples of a Canadian bacon BLT wrap that was ssoooo gooood!! This wrap was not on the menu yet but they made one for us and served it with a cucumber dipping sauce that just sent the wrap over the top! We have yet to eat the beer and bacon bratwurst we bought but id bet they wont disappoint. OOHHHH.............and we also got a few pieces of the Landjaeger (?) snack sticks. Best, non greasy, tasty meat stick I have EVER eaten and I have tried them from every meat market I have ever been in. This place is small but the service and food are 6 star!!
Thought it was cool that they prepared schnitzel on the bbq grill outside... As well as offered samples of a couple of their popular items. But there was no seating available inside and very limited places to eat outside within minimal walking distance. The Reuben sandwich was nothing to brag about.
I absolutely love this place.I went for the first time about a month ago and got a little bit of everything, franks, cheddar brats, a smoked pork chop, landjaeger, kielbasa, boudin, and half pound of doner which barely made it home intact (seriously its addicting). Everything Ive tried is next-level fantastic and super fresh. The spicy landjaeger is amazing and makes a great quick lunch or snack.Ive been three times total now and every time theres something new and unique to check out. Today they had blueberry brats which sounded odd to me, but they were offering samples and it was actually awesome! Also the ladies working there are always super nice and quite knowledgeable about the various meats and products.I called a day ahead and got a few pounds of ground beef pre packaged as well as five pounds of awesome looking pork belly slabs which Im excited to cook in the near future.Ill be back frequently!
Just had the German style Donner... let me tell you as someone who has experienced German cuisine first hand, this is the best Donner I have ever had! Enormous pile a delicious beef, red cabbage and a spicy sauce all on pita-like bread. Also, the German style potato salad is killer. An absolute treat for anyone passing through Ball Park, GA.

The landjager and brats are delicious. Lots of interesting choices here. Theyre always coming up with new flavors and variations to keep it interesting. Knowledgeable, friendly folks. Its a counter setup so enjoy your eats on the park benches that line the sidewalk as you relish the savory smells coming from the sidewalk grill which they use to entice passers-by. Its a trap! ;-)
Do not pass this place up - its a real treat! We pass through this little area of Ball Ground often and had stopped at the famous Burger Bus which is an experience eating on an actual bus... BUT family told us to give this German place a try and we are hooked. Several small restaurants in this area - but this one is an authentic treat! Real warm German potato salad, excellent selection of German prepared meats (including sausages/bratwurst/knockwurst/weisswurst/debritziner, schnitzel, german bologna, landjaeger and liverwurst) and HUGE sandwiches (reuben, diner, chicken salad, veggie, grilled cheese). The mother and daughter team in this place are so genuine - speak German, friendly and rightfully proud of their restaurant. SAMPLES offered the minute you walk in the door with lots of information about their meats. Not much area inside to sit (I think there are 2-3 small tables) - but there are tables just out front or its great to take your food outside to eat on the public picnic benches in the area and by the local park or to-go. They also have PRE-PREPARED meals in their refrigerator to buy and take home to warm up. EXCELLENT option! Lots of fresh baked goods too! They close early (Hours ar Tues-Sat 11am-7pm and Sun Noon-5pm... closed Mondays) - so probably not a going-out-on-the-town for dinner place, but excellent for lunch or early dinner or to-go.
Edit: Not sure if they sold the Deli, maybe still make occasional appearances to smooth a transition? There is something wrong, new faces, they got 1 donor right, another made terrible, not too knowledgeable of the products, the meat fridge looked odd or baren (could be a covid legality along with no samples) but something is off.I will go obviously continue going here, its still a 5/5 but it has lost its spark.Why did that one guy rate this a 4? I have ate food in some top restaurants in over a dozen countries, including Germany and this place is a very rare 5 out of 5.
Best butcher shop I know of. And there is competition. The Döner stands apart from all other quasi sandwich offerings in its unique sauce and delicious spiced beef. Their jalapeño cheddar loaf is the leanest Ive ever sampled. Annette always offers generous samples and good service from front to back. 10/10. Will continue to enjoy all their tasties!

Food was good but not as authentic as I’d hoped. They were not wearing masks nor doing any social distancing in their store so I definitely wouldn’t return during the pandemic if ever.

My 2 cents, every morsel I have ate or took home was delicious, this is a special old style german butcher, they make what you want, breakfast sausage is the best, you will not find a better steak to take home and grill. Their sandwich will keep you coming back!!

Great food, fantastic service and perfect for an after church picnic - they grill outside on Sundays! The 4 x 4 is yuuuuum - a 4 cheese, 4 pepper sausage; its heaven on a bun.This is a meat lovers paradise, but for you veg heads, try the spinach feta . Lastly I have to say the doner is one you better be sitting down for!

Why are their sausages so good? Strawberry one is amazing, and sometimes they serve hot freshly made sausages on the grill in the front, so good!!!!

I make it a point to stop here on my Sunday afternoon motorcycle rides. They have it all cooked and ready to eat. Come back and try a diff meat each time. So yummy.

The food is very good, we bought some for home, the people wishing there are great, but the store is smaller then expected and with less variety then hoped. They also charge you 4$ for every credit/debit transaction when in fact it costs them only 2.75$.
This place is excellent. An authentic German Deli with amazing Weisswurst and Bratwurst. Please dont drive through Ballground without stopping. Amazing food and Deli!

Picked up some smoked meats. Seem like great quality but pricey. Tried the done sandwich. Would have enjoyed more I think without the cucumber salad added.
Everything is great from the hospitality of the employees to the amazing food. They have sandwiches and quick meals to a meat counter with a large specialty brat selection. A true Ball Ground jewel.

We bought meats for nearly 80$ and were simply disappointed. The Weisswuerste were not comparable to German ones and 7 bucks for a Leberkaese-roll is just overpriced.

2022-03-22The Döner meat tastes (and looks) like hot bologna instead of what real Döner Kalb or Lamb has been in every German and Dutch city Ive been to and I lived there for 7 years. Bernhards German Bakery in Marietta seemed a lot closer to the real thing than this.

2022-03-23The sign outside said “Life Changing Sandwiches” and they were right. Delicious, fresh and clearly made by folks who care. I love this place. On this visit we enjoyed the Döner sandwich, the German potato salad and the Heaven on Earth potato salad. Simply wonderful.

2022-05-17It wasn’t what I was expecting from reading other reviews. Tried the Doner pocket sandwich, it was alright. Wasn’t my favorite meat. Sandwich wasn’t shy of extras though. I’ll definitely try something else next time. Only 2 tables inside and 2 outside. Staff was friendly.

2021-07-16OMG! Great german sausages!I bought all their bratwurst and the hamburger wurst are amazing. The sandwiches are great as well. Only two tables inside but plenty of outdoor seating in the park next door.I’ve been here so many times since two years ago that I had to write an update.Every sausage I’ve tried there has been delicious, it’s homemade the butcher does it right - authentic German.The German OMAs potato salad is just like my grandmother used to make. Deliciously amazingly good.Don’t be afraid to experiment with the different Brats like beer cheese, dried tomato with feta, Texas Hot…everything you can think of and more. Very traditional German brat s too. My fav are the weiswirst!their donor kebab sandwich is amazing! very authentic to Germany. It’s the bread!

2022-06-25This place is awesome and saved the day after my family of four waited for over forty-five minutes next door at the Tavern for food that never came. We were so hangry buy luckily Frankfurt Döner came thru with homemade delicious angus beef döner sandwiches and the best potato salad. My husband got an additional bratwurst and loved it. I had been here before and will definitely be back again.

2019-03-10If I could give this place 10 Stars, I would. I love their Doner kebab sandwich aka German Taco. My wife gets the Doner salad because she has Celiac and cant have the bread. They accommodate by making the sandwich into a salad. The food here is absolutely amazing. The staff and family who work there are super friendly and very polite. You can eat lunch and then order some sausages or wurst to take home (which we do). Lots of choices in German meats. I cant recommend Frankfurt Doner & Mears enough. A must visit when in Ballground!

2018-12-30Love this place. I recently went to the Peach Bowl ( GO GATORS)and I want something special for the occasion so I emailed them and they suggested Son of a Peach brats. So I got those and regular brats and let me tell you we were the hit of the tailgate party in our area!!! Everyone wanted to know where I got the brats and I was proud to tell them where. BTW the brats were so good we made some friends of the opposing team!!!
