Sat in drive through for 40 minutes and was still 5 cars back! Gave up! I have no idea how it would have been. Just know they are the slowest fast food in the world! (Way slower than Popeyes even!)
Freddys is a great place to get something to eat and also something sweet! Ive always been pleased with the service however, the last time I went through the drive through it took a little longer than usual. Definitely recommend!
Burger was good, never been a fan of shoe string fries. Thanks to supply chain issues there were no onion rings. Bathroom was unkept even with numerous employees and slow business.

28 minutes in the drive through and they dont have any flavor of custard except vanilla. They did not inform us of that until they had taken our money. This location has gone from fair to poor in the last few months. Cannot recommend any longer.UPDATE 4/4/22: This location just keeps getting worse. Employees are parking in the handicap spots and they are not handicapped. Employees are blasting music in the parking lot. They are ALWAYS out of chocolate custard (almost two months of the machine being broken). More than once I have been through here and they are accepting CASH ONLY. Of course, there are no signs that say cash only and you get stuck in their one-lane drive through waiting. Your time is not valuable -- to them.I will not be back to this location.
Any place you go is only as good as its management and team. On this day, we went inside to order because the drive through was wrapped around the building. After standing at the cash register for over 5 minutes, no one in front of us and 3 people waiting for food, no one even acknowledged us. We knew we should run.A woman beside us whispered that she and her son were only waiting on an ice cream. For over 20 minutes. And then she said, run. After 2 more minutes we did. The place was not clean. I wouldnt have wanted to sit anywhere and eat. Spills not moped up on floors. Staff was not trained and not efficient. Hopeful they can get on track.
The food was awesome. There was 1 employee there that got really short and snobby with me because she forgot an order in chicken fingers. And I went back to get them. She tried to tell me that I only had 2 orders of them when I showed her the receipt it had 3 orders on the receipt.
Drive through employee had an attitude and had a disgusting tone as he was talking to me over the speaker while taking my order on 04/16/22. I drove off due to his disgusting rude behavior. Do NOT talk to customers like that ever! Idc how tired or annoyed you are, you signed up for the job not the customers!
I have never posted many reviews before but holy hell this place has no clue what’s going on. I was in line from 12:03-12:40 with only 2 cars ahead of me. Customers behind me were coming up to the window trying to get some help but the lady working the window was sitting in the back on her phone. Finally customers in the lobby got the attention of the cooks and had them go back and find the lady working. I had already paid but my food was just sitting there since the lady was in the back on her phone. I got my food so I don’t really care anymore but the owner probably needs to know about the mess going on up there
Almost every time I go to Athens for what ever reason it may be I always try to stop by this establishment for their burgers. Their ice cream is great too and can satisfy even the craziest of sweet tooth fanatics.
Unfortunately the dining room was not available due to lack of staff. Those working drive thru were doing the best they could. Food was not up to par like in the past.
Literally the worst. My husband waited for OVER 30 MINUTES for our food past the pickup time on DoorDash, the food was ice cold and the store would do nothing to fix the situation. Avoid at all cost. Such a shame. Used to be our favorite but I don’t think we will go back.
Of course the ice cream was good but the variety of items was very limited. Also, the woman was really nice but she made me wait and wait when all I wanted was a napkin.
My California burger was delicious. The restaurant itself is very loud. Its not loud music its just that there isnt anything in the restaurant to help absorb sound.
It was slow and they were out of some items. Food was tasty when we got it. Staff helpful not overly friendly.
This Freddys is a solid location. The fish sandwich was tasty ad their rings were surprisingly good.The service was solid and the facility is easily wheelchair accessible.
The food was amazing and the people were so polite they made my experience great I didn’t expect much in coming here but I had an amazing time can’t wait to bring my kids for ice cream this Saturday 😊
Had a little mix up with one of the burgers we ordered but otherwise the food was delicious.
This used to be mine and my husbands favorite place to eat but it has recently gone downhill. We went a few weeks ago and I ordered a patty melt like I usually do and a grilled cheese for my daughter. Both of our sandwiches were burnt. It wasn’t a huge deal, they were busy and short staffed. But the other day my pregnant sister ordered a burger from there and there was raw meat on the outside of the burger box. After that, we wont be returning.
Usually, my experience at Freddy’s has been great. Been a patron for years. However, recently my experience with them was absolutely horrible, disappointing, and to the point where I will NEVER return to this establishment. First, I waited in line for over 20 minutes and the line was extremely backed up. Initially, I went with the notion which was confirmed by the sign stating short staffed and asking for patience. Understandable. But upon finally getting to the window there were SEVERAL employees standing around at the window doing absolutely nothing. Short staffed seemed to be code for really not working and not one of them were doing anything to assist with the ridiculous line waiting outside in the drive thru. So, I pay for my food and receive no receipt. Then I receive my concrete. Soupy, runny, and with nothing that I paid extra for. And the cup was not full. I paid almost $9 for a runny chocolate soup and waited 20 minutes for it with no receipt. I had a sleeping child in the car and the line was too long to go back and make things right so I had to leave and settle for the pathetic drink that was given because it definitely wasn’t frozen custard. I called customer service and was told someone would be returning my call in a few minutes and never received a call back. I feel used and disrespected because this place used to be high caliber but has go down tremendously and I will be spending my money at other frozen custard establishments with much better food and quality of service.
This was my first time eating at a Freddys and it was really tasty for what it is! I switched out my french fries for cheese curds, which was definitely worth it! If you want a good fast food restaurant this will do, but dont plan on a healthy meal.
Burger was great, but only two workers on shift at 8:30pm. They were busting their tails, but just couldnt keep up. Four cars deep in the drive-thru took 40 minutes to receive order. No tea available since they hadnt had a chance to make more and no pumpkin pie concretes available. Please give them a bonus for their hard work and get them some coworkers!
1st timer here, after UGA grad ceremonies. Other restaurants were packed with long wait times, so figured why not. Super glad we did. Clean, friendly staff and delish Patty melt (dipped in jalapeno fry sauce)!
Food has always been pretty good but like 3 orders in a row im always missing something even after confirming what we ordered.When I ask for a receipt they say they usually toss them out after they print.
Very poor on there waiting. For the last times we came here even it is not crowded the waiting is almost an hour. And one-time came here and weve been waiting for 2 hours and 30 mins. Every foods that the customers dont claim it they keep throwing it in the garbage. And the customers getting aggravated wasting all those foods and the wait was too long that is why the orders always backing up. And the wait os getting more longer and longer.
Ive mean.... I had to refinance my house to pay for mine and my husbands dinner here but it was delicious and well worth it. 🤣😋(Im JK so dont come for me 🙄)
Extremely slow and loooong wait time in drive through. Very annoying. Great food. Terrible time management. Needs more workers or faster service. Has been this way for years. Also the response from owner is probably a scammer. My words for you are is to fix your restaraunt and read the reviews. Needs new management. Or get replaced by the Varsity. Order speaker was broken, lights were completely out around the whole restaurant, took for ever to get to the window to place order/ get food. The young lady who took my order/brought my food to the bar had a great attitude though.
An absolute disaster. The staff attempting to work this store are the most pitiful I have ever seen. I understand everyone is having staffing issues, but this store should just shut down until they can do better. 45 minutes to get food....the guy taking orders just started discouraging people from staying and ordering....the few people making the food were just unbelievable....as if theyd never been trained once. I couldnt possibly rate this store low enough. Im not even going to talk about the food.... just awful.
25 minute wait for 2 dry burgers. If you order with everything youll get pickles and onions: no lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, nothing. If theyre out, why cant they go to any of the grocery stores around here and buy more? Sheer laziness to not make that tiny effort. And no condiments available for fries. And they serve Pepsi. Any restaurant in Georgia that serves Pepsi should have their credit score lowered. Obviously an absentee owner who really couldnt care less.

I ordered a shake and fries in the drive-thru. Waited 35 minutes for the shake and then waited another 15 minutes at the window and never received my French fries so I drove off. This is a fast food restaurant. Waiting over 45 minutes for a shake and fries is unacceptable.
They bombed bad I ordered the patty melt and Hawaiian custard then got Jax a sandwich same it appears that all they did was slice a already patty in half then fried it crispy othing about it resembled a patty melt what so ever then to top it off it was $26.⁰⁰ foe 2 hamburgers 1 fry 1 drink 1 med icecreamHad the food been good not perfect but good I wouldnt be here despite the 30 min wait in the drive thru
My husband and I went to eat on Sunday after 2 p.m. The ice machine wasnt working, the fountain drinks were empty on a couple of them. It took over 40 minutes for us to get our food. There also were no napkins, straws or drink lids available for use. The attitude of the employees was hard to deal with also.
Ok I can forgive when its slow because there are no employees, everyones struggling with that. But I came through today and NO CUSTARD? ok but arent you a burger and CUSTARD place?? Come on Freddys, this isnt an employee problem, this is a management problem. When mcdonalds icecream machine works better than yours thats when you know you have an issue.

Arrived at the drive thru line at 7:10pm. Didn’t get to the window till 8:10pm. Only one lane in drive thru or I would have definitely left. Upon reaching window I asked if there was a discount for the hour wait, guy working told me no, So I left. How do you guys have the nerve to have higher prices than chick-Fil-a with such horrible customer service? Horrible experience! Avoid and eat elsewhere.
A couple weeks ago I ordered two cheese burgers through the drive thru and it took an hour to get my food. I ordered around 8:30- well after the dinner rush. Today I decided to give it another chance b/c my son really wanted Freddy’s… we went inside and ordered two meals… it is going on 45 min and we still don’t have our food. There are more people sitting at tables waiting on food than there are actually eating food. This is absolutely ridiculous! Horrible customer experience also- no clean tables, no napkins out. None of the employees look like they are even trying to move quickly to get people what the ordered. Also when this happened in the drive thru, not even an acknowledgement that it took a long time- no apologies for the time it took or the fact that the food was cold and thrown together… again- horrible customer service!
Horrible experience. Employees were rude, the floors were trashed in the dining room and kitchen. Trash bag juice was left on the floor from the bag the whole time we were there. It took 27min to get my food.
Best custard milkshake (think 1970s McDonalds milkshake) but gelato taste.....BEST milkshake I would say in 20yrs.....choco with strawberries blended in.....2thumbs up....and on cloud 9
The hot food was good but my ice cream sundae was not cause it was completely melted from having to wait 30 minutes plus on my hot food
We were hired to do face painting for their kids night. Had a great time! We had a chance to have a great meal. The management team and their team were super awesome! I totally suggest this as a family fun place.

Restaurant was very messy, fountain machine didnt have ice and drinks were dead, and hot like the machine wasnt working, finally had an employee get us some drinks from the drive thru machine and got our food, food was good and hot , just very unorganized and crazy
Went to eat there Sunday after church and the doors were locked. We could see a few folks inside and one of them opened the door and let us in but a few minutes later a lady came out from the back and said they didnt have enough help. She said they would take of us anyway but after standing there for about 10 minutes with no sign of anyone concerned about us we left!
I had the root beer float and it was just like I remembered. So good!!
First time here. Passed by for some ice cream. I was not greeted. As soon as I told them it was my first time here, cashier just walked away. A different cashier came, and mind you I was smiling because I was excited to try something new. However, the cashier did not talk aside from stating my total nor exchange any smiles. The ice cream was okay. They forgot a topping.
Trust me on this it is not worth the absolutely horrendous amount of time you will have to wait to get your order. Of course they used to pandemic and make excuses but if all youre doing is serve and drive through it shouldnt take 45 minutes to get your food every time you come to the place. You decide to come here you better plan on having an hour to wait on your food because they could care less . Everyone makes excuses but Chick-fil-A and Zaxbys certainly dont seem to be having these problems. I guess if you want to get your food fast youre going to have to wait till after the pandemic is over because its not going to happen while its going on at Freddys Frozen custards at all
I have eaten here 3 times, and all I remember is it was very slow every time. If you see a line in the drive though, dont get in line, it is ridiculously slow and they have nothing worth waiting an hour for. Is there any chance this location makes it once the Varsity relocates nearby?
This place gets ZERO stars if possible. We had to wait for an HOUR to get our food in the dining room. I realize that its Black Friday but the restaurant was not that busy. There is NO excuse for the service to be that slow. If you dont have enough staff then close the dining room and only have drive thru open. In addition our burgers were cold when we received them. We complained and asked for a refund. We were told that the manager was busy and it would be a minute. After waiting 10 minutes we just left. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service.
Drive thru takes FOREVER!! Waited 30 minutes before moving 2 car links. Finally got my food after an hour and a half and it was cold. I ordered a burger and fry meal. How long does it take to make that? No way to get out of line because you’re blocked in. Never coming here again and never recommending this place to anyone.
This was my first time coming here to eat and I had my hopes up, tbh my first experience there was not good….the patty melt I ordered was over cooked and very salty, it was dry and looked like it had been thrown together by a toddler who may have a temper tantrum or something. Maybe I came at the wrong time of day I don’t know what the problem was but I’m sure whoever made the order wouldn’t want their food prepared like that

There’s no words to describe how disgusting their food was. Overpriced, over seasoned and over cooked burgers and fries. I’m pretty sure they dropped a burger on the floor and still served it to the people in front of me. I also think I saw a whole 7 person family of roaches enter their custard machine. None of the tables were wiped down from the snotty kids who seated before me. Their trash cans were overfilled and they severely understaffed. The lady who was making the fries had on a diaper so I’m sure she was messing with herself while serving others. I wanted a tea but there wasn’t any and when I asked they said they would make more but failed to do so. Plus, the majority of their soda machine was out. The kitchen was a mess, lettuce all over the floor. When I was leaving, I saw the majority of the staff smoking outside. Do better.
We waited for 37 mins to receive three hamburgers and fries. I then ordered a cup of chili to take home, and after waiting for 9 minutes I said forget it and left without the chilli. And adding tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup might be a good idea, when you ask for everything on your burger. I highly doubt I will return. Wendys and Cook Out are right down the street,
It was my first time there. The burger was way over cooked to the point the meat was crunchy and the fries were over cooked also. It took 35 mins to get our food, and I thought it was because they were short staffed, but apparently they were cooking everything too long.
Sunday night burger craving, decided to go to Freddy’s for a burger. They made us wait in the drive thru line for 55 minutes. Not sure if they were raising the cow from birth or not but that was completely unacceptable wait time, especially considering a couple of there workers were out back smoking and giggling. Couldn’t leave the drive thru because it was too narrow. With service like this, they will soon close down.

The food quality does not match prices. Ordered a large fry and large drink to wait 5 minutes at the window to get a half cup of cold unsalted fries. Have order back to the girl at window and she added about 4 more cold fries. I’ll take my business else where. This is not the first time I e have gotten cold food here and ha w to wait for a long period of time. This will be the last time though.

Generally, the food is good. Thin, crispy on the edges burgers and skinny fries. My fries were not very hot yesterday despite them being busy and youd think a fresh turnover of fries. We really enjoy the taste of the food and an alternative to the usual fast food choices but Freddys is definitely pricey and I wish it were a bit more affordable for what youre getting.
The quality is very good for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean. The ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful. I would definitely go back!
Normally everything is amazing but today something was a little off. The cheese on my fries wasn’t melted, my burger was a little on the burnt side, no napkins, no fork for my fries and they forgot the pineapple on my daughter’s custard. I’m very disappointed in them today.
After placing my order I paid for my order and had to WAIT with no communication for 30 minutes to get food. Totally unacceptable.

Awful awful awful!!! Never again. Waited 30 min in drive thru. I placed the order thru the app thinking it would be faster to get to the speaker and it already be placed. Wrong. After waiting 30 min the line barely had moved. Cars started backing out so we took that chance to be able to back out to and not be stuck! I went in to get it thinking it should be ready! Nope. I waited inside 20 minutes and still was told there was 11 people ahead of us. I am pregnant and my blood sugar was dropping so we had to go find food elsewhere. I lost out on $20 because she said there was no way to cancel the order on the app after placing it. Thanks !!
Waited in the drive thru for an Hour and a half today only because I was stuck and couldn’t get out of the line. Once I finally got my food, it was wrong and I was missing half of my order. I had to go back inside and wait another 30mins….I understand they were busy but come on an hour and a half in the drive thru is crazy. Then my order was STILL wrong…again! I didn’t feel like waiting LONGER for a refund…So after being there for 2 hours I didn’t care if it was wrong a third time. Ridiculous, unbelievable and terrible. I will never go back and will encourage others not to go there. Not worth it. Literally the worst experience I’ve had at a drive thru. Do better….
Horrible manager. She’s just awful. After 40 minutes of waiting, she came out and proudly announced there would be no more dine in orders. We sat for 40 minutes and listened to her complain about her job and yell at the employees when she could have been working. This woman doesn’t deserve a job. On the flip side the lady at the register was very nice.
Just waited an hour inside for my food and it was cold like it just came out of the fridge. Then went up to the counter to talk to management and they were too busy to come talk to me. Never again will I waste my money at this joint! Wish I could leave 0 stars.

Went to restaurant and it was closed as people were inside. The workers was assisting other customers at table as we were knocking and an elderly woman was waiting outside also. We thought maybe they closed due to capacity or a special event, as it was mot until 2 minutes later when the elderly Lady walked to the side of the building and the small door was open. We ask if they were open and they said yes. We told them the front main door was closed and they said “they know already” I just suggested that they should have at least put a sign if we have to walk somewhere else as they said they don’t have to if one door is open. Thought they was not caring about any advices as the lady again at register said it again, we don’t have to tell anyone as they will have to figure out for themselves.Cold service

Signature Turtle Sundae was the reason I gained 10lbs during the pandemic. Every bite of that custard was worth it. Fries are good 😊
On my lunch break, I pulled into the always excruciatingly slow drive thru because I love the burgers. When I finally got to the order box I was told that they were only accepting cash because of a computer problem. I was initially annoyed because I had to wait in the slow drive thru and I wasnt going to be able to get a meal. When I got to the window I told the girl working that they should make a sign just to let people know because once youre in that line youre stuck (curbs on either side). She argued with me that its just a glitch in the system that they cant control. But what they can control is customer service. I wouldve been much happier and more willing to return in the future had 1) there been a sign letting me know they had a glitchy computer and 2) had the girl at the window just said, okay, we are working on it instead of the sassy argument of we cant control the computer. It will be a long time before I am craving a Freddys burger again.

This place has a really great burger and fries, and is pretty reasonably priced. I’ve only ate here a couple of times because Freddy’s isn’t as abundant in locations as some other more well known fast food chains, but both times exceeded my expectations.
This was a nice Date place with the hubby. Enjoyed the burger options - No Bun. The custard was ok. The atmosphere was good. It wad a bit confusing on how they were doing lids and straws - it would have been nice to have been directed to those vs having to wander about and then find them no where near the soda machines.
What a awful place to visit. The entire restaurant is dirty. The cook wasnt using gloves and handling raw food. I highly recommend not going here.
The food is good. Its different than your average burger joint. The fries are thin crisp, yet soft always hot and tasty and the milkshakes are superior to other fast-food places.

Overall cleanliness of store was great, had one person wiping tables down as soon as people got up. The ice dispenser for the fountain drinks needed major attention, mold build up was excessive

They go heavy on seasoning in the burgers. Leave off the bacon and itll be perfect. But I think we generally need less people in the world so if youre really craving double bacon and extra cheese go right ahead!
Do yourself a favor and pass on by. Fries were cold, and my expensive custard was a tiny portion and when I asked the server about it, he informed me it was because it was loose that it didnt seem like as much in the cup🤔🤔 Translation, it was melted when he handed it to me, and didnt offer to replace it or anything. The frozen custard was definitely NOT FROZEN. Do not recommend, food and service were terrible.
50 minute wait, the drink machine was bland, The food trays were not clean and covered in grease, the restaurant was not very clean, trash cans piled up, bathroom out of soap, hair on the table, floor was sticky, and food was not very warm.
Waited in line for 20 minutes and got to the window with all of the employees goofing around/eating. Too bad.
When you arrive at 5:00 for dinner and all thats open is the drive thru means Im going elsewhere. No excuse when Covid cases are down compared to recent months and you were open then. Very tire of this craziness.
It was amazing. The Hawaiian Delight sundae is awesome! As is the Dirtn Worms as sundae. The last time I visited it was yesterday. Also, the fries are very good. They have that nice salty flavor to them.

I was disappointed in how my food was made. The burgers here are too expensive to be thrown together.... The Freddys in Conyers, GA was much better and they made the food better. Little effort was put into making the food.
This was a first for me going to Freddys in Athens. My order besides my Beverage (which the side was covered in excess drink) was completely wrong. I attempted calling multiple times and no answer. Wasnt expecting better than this.

This was my first visit while. I was on a business trip in the area. The fries were cold and the sundae was half melted when I got it in the the drive thru. The burger was fresh and tasty but on the small side. The service was a bit slow but friendly. Overall, it was overpriced for the quality of the food and experience.
So first thing Im here because of Miss Deborah.I went to get a milk shake for my future wife, and didnt plan on getting a burger. Never been here before.I decided to get a double cheeseburger last minute and Miss Deborah was so nice and even brought it out to me, she was very kind and didnt even have no attitude for adding something on top of my order.The burger was da bomb, very tasty. The lettuce tomato and onion was nice and crisp. Everything was very fresh, definitely going back ! Thanks Deborah!
The burgers where fine. I had patty melt it tasted like nothing no taste at all to it. The VANILLE shakes boy what mess they where some where fuller then others. Taste was ok on the shakes. When we walk in the place was empty. It took them 28 minutes to get us are full order of 3 burgers 1 patty melt and 4 shakes. Customers service the guy was nice the girl who make our shakes had no clue whst she was doing. I think I take our business somewhere else from now on.
Its very close to steak n shake in terms of food and atmosphere. I do think their steak burgers are better quality. I would go back. Prices are higher than at steak shake but its still a great family restaurant. Also, their custard is pretty darn good. Get if if you can or get some of their other flavors.
Frozen Custard!!! Need I say more? It is creamy, smooth, and delicious. They will accommodate special requests when ordering shakes or concretes, but I find that this works better if you go inside. For me, their chocolate custard is too dark/strong so I usually order a dish, shake, or concrete of half chocolate and half vanilla. The burgers and hot dogs are good quality and delicious as well. The fries are a bit too thin for me and remind me of shoestring potatoes from my childhood. The staff are polite and the rest rooms are clean. The only problem for me is that the tables are often not clean and I have to ask them to clean them, or I do so myself. If they fix this they would get 5 stars!
I especially want to thank Terrinesha for being so extra while I was inside the store trying to get multiple orders for coworkers and myself. She even offered to help me to my car. She was extremely nice. I went back to work telling everyone how nice she was! Its people like her that keep our local businesses open!
I dont think be visiting this location again. When I got home and opened my burger the bun was smushed between the box it came in and being partially on the burger. Inspecting this and seeing it was thrown together I discarded it.
Visited this restaurant this restaurant to splurge & take dinner home to everyone. Experience was great! Cat was the cashier that helped me & she was extremely professional, friendly, & accommodating. When explaining we have a really big family & I was taking food home for 9 of us for dinner, she handled everything like a pro. Got home with this treat of a dinner & the kids loved the food & the yummy fry sauce!
I love Freddys and we stopped at this particular location for a quick treat on our way home. While everything was delicious, portion control was very poor at this location. Some of our custard items were exactly as expected, but our chocolate custard came out unusually small with the tiniest amount of topping. This certainly seems like more of a training issue than anything else. If were near this location again Id give it another try but this wasnt the same experience Ive had at other Freddys locations.
My chili dog looked like they poured chili in the box and then threw the hotdog on top. The chili was horrible and the hotdog wasnt fresh. I took one bite and couldnt eat the rest.
Was craving a chili dog.... Queued up, ordered a chili dog, extra onion with chili cheese fries and a drink.... Not cheap, BUT... Will spend that ten bucks again without batting an eye. Dog was grilled perfectly in a mildly sweet bun, nice snap from the dog with a hint of smoke that lingers on the palate. Bun had a slight crunch upon biting, releasing myriad flavors, juices, and post-nasal notes one might expect from a higher price point. Chili cheese fries.... Immaculate. Thin, crispy shoestring fries were drenched in ooey, gooey, DECADENT cheese sauce, that actually tastes like cheese, with a chili that is bursting with cumin and pepper flakes, without being too salty or spicy... In a word, PERFECT! Service was prompt, courteous, and accurate, and I cant wait to go back again! GREAT JOB, GUYS!
Freddys custard and hamburgers are very delicious. Actually the hamburgers are all steakburgers and have a really good taste. The Freddys in Athens, Ga are very clean and well managed.
Great place for quick bite to eat. Loved it! One drawback its hard to see the menu. Could be from the sun glare. But the cashier was very informative and knew that menu.
Service is non-existent. No one seems to care if you ever get your order. Kitchen was a wreck !!!
Staff is great, the sundaes are delicious. Whenever Im craving ice cream I cant decide between here and Brusters! The portions are ridiculously huge and taste delicious. Good good sundaes

Burger was great. Probably my favorite fast food burger in Athens now. Smash burger but the patties arent too thin. Just thin enough to get a good crust on the top/bottom/sides. Not really a shoe string fry type of guy but they are good and the fry sauce makes up for it. Custard Milk Shake as great as well. Better than other vanilla shakes you get at like McDonalds or the Frosties from Wendys. Definitely going back next time I am on that side of town looking for a quick bite.
Love this place! Went for the first time with a few coupons that the hospitality manager gave me at my place of work. Had two #1 combos and a shake with my boyfriend who has had Freddy’s before but hadn’t eaten inside. Eating inside is really important here! The aesthetic is great! My shake was WAY better and had way more love in it than my normal shake at Steak n Shake. Will definitely be coming here in the future instead of Steak ‘n Shake. Very impressed.
The food is just ok. Im not big on fast food but if I was going to go I would hit up Wendys over this one. The custard is an interesting switch from ice cream. Very rich. Toppings were stale when we went though. Also they had about 8 -10 booths. Three had people in them, the rest were so dirty I wouldnt sit there. This was about 2pm on a Saturday.
The burgers were decent and the fries were ok. We did not get any custard, but we will definitely be back to try it. However, it wont be a first choice for a burger or fries. But I wouldnt mind eating there again. I enjoyed the fry sauce and was intrigued by the jalapeno fry sauce. I wish the fries were better so I could enjoy the sauce with them.

Freddys is a good place to eat with the kiddos. They have the shoestring fries with this special fry sauce that my kids absolutely love!! They also have ice cream for dessert. Their burgers are similar to Steak and Shake, but they also have hot dogs and chicken tenders. The service here has always been very friendly! I would definitely recommend this place for lunch!
1st visit and it was fantastic! Everything was hot and fresh! Even our drinks were perfectly crisp and refreshing... Definitely worth the drive and will be returning 🤤
The custard was excellent. The burger patties are a little different, flat with crispy edges. Taste was good but not my favorite. They are called steak burgers I believe. Onion rings were great and french fries are match stick style. The place was packed on A Sunday afternoon so obviously many people enjoy the food.
Really fun family diner. The custard sundaes are delicious. I ordered the chili, kids had chicken tenders and other family members have had the burgers/melts and everyone was happy. The fries are really thin and crispy. The onion rings are yummy. The customer service is exceptional.I had Chocolate Delight which was a little too chocolatey for me and they gladly cut it with some vanilla. The kids got the dirt and worms. Ive also had the Hawaiin Delight. Its not the healthiest place, and you may suffer a little after but its enjoyable, clean and delicious.

Overpriced for a burger spot thats not of a higher quality. Other than pricing, everything else was above average except those fries. Im glad I had onion rings with my order. My kids were looking at them as if they were missing the rest of the potato.

There wasnt a huge since of urgency, but I got my food in time.Skip the cheese fries. The Julienne cut style of fries wasnt my favorite. If youre going to spend more on fries, they should be better than overcooked remnants of a potato with a liquid, cheese like product dumped on them.Im setting up a new store in the area. Inflation sucks, but Id still go back. Worth $10 for a good burger.

Unbelievably bad customer service experience at this Freddys. They had two drive-through lanes that appeared open, however when I made it to the second lane to order they informed me the lane was not open and refused to provide service. The manager even came on and confirmed they would not provide service even though the cones were not blocking the lane, and nothing indicated the lane was not open. In addition, they wanted me to wait in the drive-through line to circle back around to order (there was no way to exit the line and join the other lane). My kids enjoy the food here very much, but I’m a big believer in making sure your customer has a good experience and to not accommodate a customer when it is the fault of the business and cause them a 20 minute delay in ordering is beyond unacceptable.
Love this place! Its better than steak n chake and is quiet a lot more convenient to get in and out of with better food. Their custard is absolutely delicious and their burgers.. are to die for. I took my son for his first Cook Kids club. Its amazing. The first time you go you geta free t-shirt for your child and if they go on the first Tuesday of the month and wear the shirt they get a free kids meal and free custard. My son loves their cheese steak burger. And that fry sauce is great and the season salt. Really have nothing bad to say about this establishment

Our grandsons (11& 12) love to eat at Freddys. They like the burgers and skinny fries but also the custard desserts. They always order the same thing so they must really like it. I like the hot dogs and the skinny fries. The dipping sauces are a nice variety in addition to ketchup. Recently, I tried the fish and chips (skinny fries). The fish was tasty but the three pieces looked like they came from a cookie cutter and you didnt feel like you were in the British Isles. In the future, Ill just get the fish sandwich if I decide to go that way. Ive had the chicken sandwich before and its tasty. The cashiers need to learn how to speak up when talking with customers. There seems to be a noise problem right near where ordering.
SO SLOW. Sat in the drive though >40 minutes to get a simple ice cream with only 4 cars ahead of us. We will never come back.
I finally tried it and I loved it! I loved the steak burgers. They were griddle cooked with crunchy edges, crunchy in a very good way. Its like a burger from steak and shake, only way better. The frozen custard is great. This is going to be a new normal for me. Now that Ive been, I cant just drive by anymore.
So yummy! We got the bacon double and it was salty but delicious! Their little shoestring fries are great, and the turtle sundae was a great ending. The kid at the counter taking cash needs to learn to wash his hands before he scoops ice cream into a cone though, yuck.
They have some really great burgers. Just dont waste your time on a single. Go for the double for that huge meaty flavor and the extra crispy edges. Get a concrete too. Just pick your favorite flavor and I promise, you cant go wrong.
Can we talk about the best grilled steak burgers ever in my opinion! The fries with chili n cheese hard to beat!! The restaurant in Athens ga is always clean and the employees are always friendly just a great place!
The food isnt bad by any means, but one of my orders were wrong. We got fries instead of onion rings like we had requested. Also when we asked if the bread on the patty melt had seeds, the cashier said no but it did. The mistake is easy to fix. In conclusion the food is quite good, but the employees need to listen better.
The food was hot and well prepared. Service was good 👍. However, the tables were NOT being cleaned up after each customer left and when someone finally came out to clean up, they only used the same cloth (no spray bottle) on each table.
Overpriced.The burgers are ok, if somewhat overcooked and salty. The fries are thin and crispy, and the fry sauce is good. The frozen custard is great, but way overpriced for the amount you get (a medium costs $5.00, and fills the medium cup about 3/4 of the way up. When I asked about it, I was told that a medium is just 2 scoops. Small scoops, I might add). The service was slow but friendly, and the restaurant is clean, with fun music playing. For 3 burgers with fries and drinks, 2 small custards and 1 medium custard, I paid almost $45.00.
Good burgers! Closest thing I can find to in-n-out, in the southeast, is the California style burger they offer. Cheese curds are worth trying at least once. Hot dogs are pretty good as well. Entire family enjoys eating here. Ice cream is always a family favorite too.
I love the fries and the fry sauce is my favorite!!! My daughter loves this place as well! Usually always busy when we go...which could use some outdoor seating to add extra space for customers.
Always good. The shoestring fries are the best. The spicy fry sauce is the perfect compliment. Everyone there is always happy to see you and fun to chat with.

They made me leave because I did not have mask. They should offer free cheap ones for those that come in and happen to not have a mask with them. There were plenty of people sitting at booths eating without masks.. really stupid rule.
This is one of my wifes favorite places to go because of the amazing frozen custard. They have two base flavors and then lots of add-ons so you can make hundreds of different custard combinations. Definitely a good place to go to for desert.

I had never been to a Freddys. The restaurant looks like an old diner. So cute! We ordered a burger, chili dog, and fries. The fries were perfect if you like shoestring fries (and we DO!), both the burger and chili dog were good as well! We also got icecream sundaes that were incredibly tasty! We spent under $25 on a meal for 2 with dessert. All in all a great lunch date. Well definitely be going back.

They also do sundaes.Service was fast and friendly, although the guy at the counter was aggressively funny. His humor made me a bit uncomfortable, but I cant really pin down why.Seating is booth or table. Interior was clean and well maintained, but OMG frigid. Worth a visit if you like fast food with a drive-in vibe.
First time visiting today, definitely wont be the last!!! If you are a fan of a steak burger and like that other place that does shakes and steaks, give Freddys a try!!! You will not be disappointed! Store was clean, staff was friendly and courteous, the food came out very fast for being made to order! Also if you like ice cream their concrete custard is off the chain!!!
Went by on Veterans Day and was offered a free meal for my service. The food was very goo, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. A perfect trifecta. I will be back as a paying customer. Thanks again Freddys.
A fast food chain with a diner vibe similar to Steak and Shake without table service. Good burgers and shakes. Shoestring fries, try the jalapeno dipping sauce which has just the right amount of heat. This location can be quite busy on the weekend.

Huge upgrade for any steak n shake fans. Way cleaner in a much more competent staff. and the food may be a little bit better as well!
Drive through staff was not paying much attention. Ordering things without sauce still had sauce on it making inedible to picky kids and my fish sandwich had plastic in it. However when taking back food staff was nice and took care of the problem.
Freddys, for other northerners like us, is a southern Steak n Shake (right down to the skinny fries), that sells frozen custard on the side. The food is greasy and fast. If thats your thing, youll love this place.
Usually happy but this time the fry sauce was empty and we had to ask them to change it and then my son’s concrete that he ordered was rung up as a shake that had very few pieces of cookie dough in it that he had asked for. Cashier basically made it out like we had ordered the shake. Disappointed this time around.
Similar to steak and shake but better quality.. I love the frozen custard!! Regular ice cream messes with my stomach but I can eat this with no problems. I think because custard is cooked, not raw milk products?

Freddys food is always tremendous. This location isn’t as friendly as other locations I’ve been to in other states. Service is a little slower as well. However their food is always good, so it’s worth waiting for. You will enjoy it!Jalapeño fry sauce is wonderful.

The burgers are OK, they call them steakburgers but I dont see anything that makes me think steak. The fries are thin and little; it feels like they should give you tweezers with them. The frozen custard is the star of the show. I had the Hawaiian with pineapple, macadamia nut, strawberry and coconut. Very good custard!

Came here for the first time and only had some custard. The custard was good except the gummy worms tasted like cleaner and we had horrible customer service. The employees seem uninterested in the customers and glared at my boyfriend and I as we stared at the menu exploring our options. The employee that first helped us offered to answer questions and after we asked two general questions, she walked away and had someone else complete our order. Mind you, there was no one else in line or in the drive thru. The second employee just glared at us and did not speak. She took our order and said the total and that was it. No smiles, nothing. Not impressed
This place is a joke. Just waited in the drive thru line for over 30 minutes and there was only 3 cars in front of us. We sat at the window for almost 10 minutes and all we had was 2 burgers. When we finally got our food it was cold. My family and I will not be returning. Discourage anyone else from going.
Really really good. I had heard good reviews from people I know. Decided to find out for ourselves. We were not disappointed. Plan to go back very soon. Clean, fast, friendly and really good burgers! We have a 15 year old daughter so her age doesnt apply to Tuesday kids night. We didnt know until we got there. Bunch of kids there. Face painting and a balloon creater of animals and stuff. Let me say this....those girls were incredibly talented. The face painting was elaborate for childrens faces. Bravo!!The balloon creater?? Wow, that girl created Ariel out of balloons and it was ........WOW. I am 54 years old and it was jaw dropping WOW!! She is worth going to Freddies just to see her creations!! She is so good.
Went through the drive-thru and they tried to charge me for two combos even though we ordered just two sandwiches and one fry. Talked to them about it at the window and they said it has to be that way, so called a manager over and after discussing he finally adjusted it but then tried to ring up two frys and charge us for two bottles of water (something we didnt ask for)... Not sure if this is corporate policy to overcharge the customer or if theyre just super bad at taking orders and overcharging, but this was the first and likely last time I go to Freddys - at least this franchise.
I wouldnt take too much stock in my review since I only came here once and only ordered a Sunday and hotdog. That being said, the frozen custard was pretty good, but the Chicago dog was not. It was a decent hot dog, but didnt taste like a proper Chicago dog. No poppy seed bun and the brand of hot dog didnt seem right for it.
I asked for no mustard and grilled onions they left the mustard on took pickles off. I called and the manager asked for my name and address bc he said he was going to send me a coupon for a free burger. Never got the coupon. Also I asked the guy at the drive thru for some ketchup. He asked how many would you like? I told him four and he he only put two. Why ask if your not going to do it???
In the past I have always enjoyed Freddys but not today. Ordered a burger with onion rings. Burger was fine but onion rings were no more than a scant greasy pile of tiny rings less than half the usual portion. When I inquired about this OBVIOUS problem, I was told, I guess thats just how they were bagged. Having spent 13 years in food service earlier in life, I can say this response is completely unacceptable. Freddy would be appalled. So I guess your one star is just how you get rated today. Update: just as I finished my initial review, my son observed another customer complain to a couple of employees and when he turned to walk away, the employees sarcastically shrugged him off. Totally unacceptable!!!
Pros: their custard & food is the pretty good.Cons: your order is almost always wrong. They will forget an item that you paid for or a topping that was suppose to go on the food.Needless to say, ordering here is like playing Russian roulette. Will y’all get my order right this time or will I be disappointed?
On vacation, I decided to try this restaurant out. Wow! We ordered and sat down, not realizing we had been waiting a minute for our food the manager comes out and apologized for our wait and gave us free meal combos. My husband so surprised because he had not even complained. Kudos to that store and manager for keeping tabs on their customers. Thanks for the great experience!

Amazing food with a great staff! For a first time customer they made a customer for life! The double steak bacon cheese combo was mind blowing! Also the ice cream was a nice touch🤤
Don’t waste your money, Go to Steak ‘n Shake. Freddys burgers are bland and burnt. The meat tasted like it had sat under a warmer for hours. Sorry not sorry 10/10 would NOT recommend.

2021-12-14Wow, the last two times I have come to this restaurant the service has been horrendous enough that I wonder how they are going to stay in business.. They are out of lettuce, ketchup, and tea at 8:02 pm. The tab was still $19 and I feel like I just paid to be abused. There were no napkins in the bag, the serving size of the onion rings was small and they were actually ice cold. How is the health department letting them serve food that is not the proper temperature??? I even put a picture of the hamburger in the bag which was not completely wrapped. The food is pretty good here but there are so many things that could improved at this location. Someone needs to take a serious look at all of this as it is a tragedy in the making for a fast food restaurant and damaging the brand big time.

2022-04-17Great atmosphere. The cashier was friendly and offered great customer service. Food was really good. Hoping the short server behind the counter was just having a bad day and that she is not normally that rude. When you work in a service business there is no place for people with a bad attitude. Get an adjustment or choose a different line of work. I will go back because of the food and the smiling cashier. Prices are about right for this type of business. Restrooms were clean also.

2022-02-20Freddys has always been one of my favorites. Not just due to the custard, but also it has great food. The place was really busy, so we werent able to get any custard due to the crazy line. Thats the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars. But all in all, the service was friendly and the staff was great.

2022-02-02The worse experience I ever had. All the tables were dirty. They had no chili. Who runs out of chili in January? The food was terrible. The patty melt didn’t taste right. The fries were mah. The manager acted like she didn’t know what she was doing or was overwhelmed. Took 10 minutes to order food and 20 minutes to get it. The young lady making shakes got it all over her including her hair. She wiped it off and I am not sure if she washed her hands. I will not be going back!!
