Hard to take test there when you have lady at front desk being loud and complaining how every one is checking in the system wrong. Telling other staff members, heres you another ticket number to cancel. Isnt her job to explain procedures better? Was finally able to take test in peace after she left for the day. After she yelled out to everyone goodbye and how glad she was to be leaving. Definitely need more staff there and more quiet and professionalism.
This DSS has it going on!!! Very organized and running on appointment times! LaFontaine was at the service desk and was very nice and patient as listening to her wait on others in the line ahead of us. I can compare to others because I had been to Canton location twice that week!
I have heard so many horror stories about replacing or renewing a georgia drivers license. This experience was not one of them. The location was easy to find and accessible. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They took the time to answer the questions that I had. I was in and out in under 30 minutes.
Terrible mood and handling of customers. Poor knowledge of what can or can’t be done. Worth driving to Dallas DDS which is the complete opposite. If this Cartersville DDS is any sign of how Governemnt operates WE ARE IN TROUBLE folks…
Friendly & helpful, not very busy at all when I went mid-week & late morning. Clean waiting room, felt comfortable & welcomed.
The women that helped me get my license was so rude. got mad at me for stopping at a stop sign for too long. she needs to chill out. she stressed me out and made me miss the turns.

Some -1- recept_ ask questions 4 next step..verg rude 2 me, handicapped disability..but actual person at counter was EXVELLENT & even a customer in next window to me also sent out of her way 2 assist me @ counter and made sure I got to my car safely, to keep me from falling w/ already visible injured neck - not by ER room ,,,just myself rigged contraption...almost a L.P.N. b4 getting cancer @ 22, then 4.0 GPA @ Ga .phlebotomy TECH @ top of class
~No woman wants to get all dressed up & has her face made up, to be told that you need an appointment. Just wasted makeup, perfume and my time.~They are NOT open on Mondays, okay.~Go to georgia.gov and fill out your proper forms and you will be directed to make an appointment.I may change my rating, but only after my appointment. And, Ill add photos, too.
Employees very courteous. Had a reasonable wait time. Over all, I would give give my visit a 5* rating.
The lady up front was very rude to my boyfriend on numerous times this morning.
The lady in the front at the door when you come in could be a little more professional. People didnt know they had to do certain things before arriving or making an appointment her tone of voice was a little displeasing. I also work with government and was shocked. I didnt say who I was but made sure when I left told her have a great day.😇
It was easy to understand what was needed, the lady helped me locate all the necessary documents and directed me to complete the application online right at the office! Thank you for being so helpful and nice during my visit.
Trying to get my mother a state ID as she recently moved from Tx . The lady’s I dealt with had ZERO patience for me asking for clarification. They were rude and EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Not having the patience to help someone who needs clarification and only responding ITS THE LAW . Is far from helpful and a waste of taxpayers money .
This place was awesome!! If you need a place to go to get your license, this is the place to go! Amy, my tester, was encouraging and supportive even through my nervous mistakes. Great service, was in and out in 10 minutes. Road test was super simple, just a few stop signs. Amazing people, efficient service, easy road test!!!! ask for amy if you are taking the road test, she will give great directions and handle you with kindness even if you’re super nervous. Well worth the drive out here- highly recommend this dmv for their efficiency!!
I am a CDL driver that stopped to update my medical certificate. I should have meda an appointment but stopped anyway. They took me right in did what needed done an out the door I went. The people here are the tops nice and friendly.

The people in the Cartersville location are very polite and the whole process was very fast. I had an appointment but got there early, was given a number and was seen in less than 5 mins. Was in and out in less than 10.
It was fast, just had to get on the computer to field out a application, you got to a have a email address! To completely fill it out!

The main DDS office is on the back of the building. The place was clean, spacious and the service was fast. I was in to renew my license and out in 15min.
I went in this morning to ask about my license that was issued to me in 2018 and it never had a star on it but it doesnt expire till 2024. This lady was saying my license was fake and that it wasnt real. how was it not real? Yall gave it too me. So i called the GSP and he told me my license was still good until it expires. This place is always ripping ppl off.
Friendly staff and Easy Voting
Very efficient. They had a greeter at the door that made sure I had all the necessary docs. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Much less painful than expected.
The Cartersville DDS office is the Chick- Fil-A of Government offices. They greet you when you walk in, answer your questions with a smile, and make sure you have everything you need to get your license. I almost ordered waffle fries and lemonade by mistake. Amy D was phenomenal!! If your kid needs to take their road test, make sure to ask for her. My daughter was extremely nervous, but Amy was so kind and reassuring. She gave my daughter the confidence she needed to do a great job and ace the test. Everyone at this DDS office was friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
Came in today with my 16 year old son for his drivers road test. Alicia O. greeted us and explained the process , she handled in professional, very pleasant manner. I was immediately put at ease. To my surprise, wait time was 5 min. Relieved to be taken care of again by Alicia O. I very much appreciate this young ladies wonderful customer care. Thank you very much for a wonderful, stress-free experience. The BEST DMV is Cartersville location!! Alicia O...cant praise enough!!!

We were just up there today and that lady at the door is the rudest person for no reason. Im sorry if she is mad at Kemp but if the office actually answered the phone once in a while maybe you wouldnt have to see people in person! RUDE!!!
Didnt have to wait too long, but the online registration did not make it clear that you STILL need to register for an appointment to renew license after filling out the on line form.
5 minute wait time. Everyone was helpful and courteous, and social distancing with masks required. Easy!

This has got to be one of the worst DMV facilitys in all of Georgia! Rude and very unprofessional. Do these people that work at this location not realize that we the tax payer are the ones that pay there salary! My grandmother was slow but thats only because she was OLD! Prior to my terrible experience at this rag tag operation I tried on numerous occasions to reach them by phone but with no avail. Got a notice I needed to get an eye test so went this morning. Was told due to the virus I had to fill out an application online and get an appointment. No mention of this on the correspondence they sent. Poor communication!
The Hispanic lady acts like she is a judge and i am a criminal very rude eveytime i go up there i dread going to this dmv everytime.. She lied to my wife saying one thing then we come back with what she asked and then she says no i didnt say u needed that.. Really.. Then why would i have left and went and got it.. Unprofessional 💯 if u hate customer service this is the wrong job for u..

I wish you could give zero stars, this place was ridiculous. Fast, sure, but they want your entire life history plus a million other documents you cannot possible produce and even tho its been less than three years since Ive held a GA license with no arrests and no issues, they tried to tell me Im considered new to GA and have to produce documents I dont have. I have by GA drivers license legally on the same day with a different GA DMV. This place sucks!!!!
Seriously the best experience Ive ever had at the DMV. I went at 11 a.m. on a Thursday and was in and out in ten minutes. Alicia, the woman who helped me, was friendly and competent.

Went to get renistated on my license and needed my birth certificate went got it and the next person seen me and said why did u leave and after all they didnt need it.after getting the paper back license got home and put the wrong exp date on them. And paid $210 to renistate then paid to renew them. Cartersville location sucks.

Been waiting on the hard copy of my license for about a month now and also just drove up here from White, Ga to get my suspension lifted and their doors are locked and the place looks deserted 30 minutes before closing time. If i cant leave my job 30 minutes early why should they?

I went three times to the Acworth DDS (DMV) and they still wouldnt let me renew my DL - I was missing some magical form that no one knew how to get a copy of. I DID have my SS card, original birth certificate, current DL, three correctly addressed utility bills in my name, current passport. Everything. But, Acworth DDS were being a bunch of Thug Rat B*s. I walked into this location, didnt even stand or sit. Just walked over, handed over my 25 pieces of identification, and was printed out my temporary DL right on the spot. Ill drive the extra 20 minutes next time, to go here.
Service was super fast. Walked in and there was only one other person. I was assisted immediately and was out in 5 minutes.
This DDS has a great customer care service and they handled my driving road skills test very smoothly. Would recommend this DDS over Kennesaw or Cobb county.

Says opens at 8 am on Saturday on the door. Sat until 8:45 with no one showing up. Multiple people in the parking lot waiting. Very poor customer service.

The terrible service they provide in that office is frustrating. With one or two exceptions, employees are despotic, authoritarian, and they dont like us Latinos.We better go somewhere else!

2022-01-29They pick and choose when they stop testing. Two weeks ago I brought my daughter to test for her permit... I work nights so early morning is not an option. That time we got here 15 minutes before close she tested finished in 10 minutes but didnt pass... we came back today to retest after driving an hour back here only to arrive 25 minutes before close and be told they stop testing at 11:30. There were maybe 3 people here the same as last time. After spending an hour driving consistency is appreciated and the sour attitude that we had the audacity to walk in the was not. What happened to closing times being when business ends? We had plenty of time to finish the process.

2022-06-16People taking your paperwork for road test are great. The lady with the accent that gives road tests is very standoffish. Her directions on the road test were given remotely (on the phone and she watched through a camera) and she was very confusing. I would not go to this location because if you don’t understand this lady, you automatically fail.

2022-04-05The man who checked me in was very sweet and patient when I needed help regarding my test. the lady who took the test with me was EXTREMELY rude and very unprofessional. she yelled at me over parallel parking the entire test (including when we had moved on to other parts of the test). she was rude when asking my dad to get out of the car (cameras weren’t working due to the rain so she had to ride in the car with me) and even reached over me to turn my lights down before i could fully stop the car. very uncomfortable, and a horrible experience. she became VERY overwhelming with her yelling and rude comments.

2022-03-16Honestly best DMV experience Ive ever had, been to half a dozen DMVs all over Atlanta. This one being less then 10 minutes to my house and i was in and out for an address change in less than 15 minutes with extreme nice and friendly staff. I have absolutely no complaints this place is great.

2022-01-21I’ve never had any issues with this location until today.. My boyfriend was trying to change his ID from a different state to GA, and the lady up front with the glasses told him he needed his birth certificate, I was confused because he had his social security card and I sent him back in to see if that would work since it is a class B proof of Citizenship. He came back out and told me that because his first ID was in a different state that he would need his birth certificate. I asked him if the documents we brought were enough proof for residency and he didn’t ask. So, instead of wasting more time and gas I walked in to find out myself before we drove back home. When I asked the lady with the glasses she didn’t know who I was talking about ( How could you not know, he spoke to you twice??) when I told her the situation she rudely told me “well we can’t help you, he needs to come in” . I told her that I was trying to ask general questions and she turned her back to me and ignored me. I walked to the counter and a gentleman there had no issues answering my questions and he understood my frustration. Obviously, she can’t lose her job based on a review. People who work for the government can treat people any way they please but good grief.. save yourself the headache, try calling them ahead of time or use the website. She didn’t have to make a mountain out of a mole hill

2022-03-24The ladies in there are a breath of fresh air. Im a trucker that have been in at least 45 States. Living as well as working. I have never, ever, went into the DMV and got this type of customer service. Here a black man in America, received the best customer service at any DMV in 48 States in over 6 decades, not 1 Google Review......wait for it, Georgia! I was in California, I was treated racist by two or three different cultures in 3 hrs. Have me thinking 🎶🎵🎶🎵 GEORGIA..... GEORGIA ON MY MIND!🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐They deserve 10 Stars !
