Goodwill Thrift Store & Donation Center in other cities:
Really enjoyed my visit, today was yellow tag 50% off. While we were shopping they announced that Monday would be orange tag for $0.99. So I really saved a ton of money today. My only issue today was my mobility is a problem and I did have to stand for a long time to check out. There was only one cash register open but I think the time of day that I was here everyone may have been at lunch.
I liked the great items we found but was totally disappointed to see the fitting rooms are STILL CLOSED. Come on Goodwill, you can do better than that and open them up like Belks and many other department stores. To make matters worse, they post a sign stating that you can RETURN your items within 7 days BUT not for a refund but a store credit AND we only knew about the store credit because the cashier told us about it. IT WAS NOT posted any where in their posted Return Policy, posted NO WHERE in the store. If the cashier is not honest enough to share the tidbit of information with you then if you return your items within 7 days, you will be slapped with this information. JUST AN FYI: BUYER BEWARE OF THEIR RETURN POLICY. Shame on you Goodwill! Very deceptive. Post that info in the store so buyers will know.
I was very pleased and excited to have discovered many great deals, as I often do at Rome Ga Goodwill. The employees were super nice, and the building was clean. My only complaint for my Dec 23 visit was they only had one register checking folks out and the line was long, this usually isnt an issue perhaps it was because of the Holidays and short personel.
As for your training. I dont know about all goodwills but this Goodwill never trains anybody when youre hired youre put in and told get to work your training comes from asking other employees what to do. If youre not careful the manager will yell at you for not doing your job clearly you dont know how too. this is a sad job.
My biggest complaint about Goodwill Thrift Stores is that their prices are about the same as going to Walmart. There must be plenty of folks who like Goodwill but isnt the point of a thrift store that sells second and maybe even third hand merchandise to help people with low income find clothing ? I know Goodwill does charity work and its understandable that they need money. But, I just think that folks can go to Walmart and get new clothes for almost the same price as used. Just my opinion.
I do not go in there anymore. I picked up an item- a spool of thread- to purchase. As I was standing in line to purchase it I saw bed bugs crawling out of it. I pointed it out to the cashier and people in line behind me, They said ewe and continued like nothing happened. I wonder why there is a bed bug pandemic!
This store is always junky and in disarray. Sooo many clothes it’s hard to “pick through” them. The toy section looks like a tornado went through it.The “ color of the day” rarely is matched to anything you can easily find and with all the money Goodwill makes, they could offer more daily specials.
This Goodwill is a very organized and simple arrangement! This signs and placards really help you know where you are and what prices things are. The staff are incredibly helpful and there are usually a decent amount of them around. Their book collection is really good and at certain times of year theyre closed can be really awesome selection as well.
Like all the other Goodwills this one is not different. Overpriced broken items, usually available on ebay for the same price. They also overcharge on shipping for online orders to get kickbacks from each sale. They also claim complete ignorance, and helplessness when called out. Not recommended, buy from Ebay first, youre only helping a for-profit company when you shop and donate to Goodwill.
Nice, big store, filled with clothing for everyone in the family. Big selection of furniture and tons of home goods.Very worthy of a visit. The store was very clean and well organized. You cant see the store from the main road. The building sets just behind Home depot.Drop off locacation is also here. There are dressing rooms and restrooms available. It has tons of free parking. With handicap parking along with handicap accessibility. Isle are nice and wide, friendly to all types of shoppers. And they have jobs available, too. Highly recommend.IF YOU LIKE MY PICTURES AND THINK MY REVEIW WAS HELPFUL PLEASE LIKE IT.THANK YOU,JENNA
Went looking for a TV stand or equivalent but theres usually very few pieces there. Todays trip was a bust so Ill try somewhere else. Did pick up a couple of good books and a pair of almost new sandals. If you go here make sure to bring your mask. Its required to be able to enter and shop here. Plus its just common sense to wear one. No brainer idea to wear a mask if you have any respect for others right now. Especially toward people like me who have medical conditions that could cause my death If I become ill from COVID-19 carriers who refuse to wear a mask.
Fantastic they took extra measures to make sure the self and the customers were a safe environment.I am from Florida and I always come here with my mom when we are in Rome.We always find what were looking for and other special Treasures.Thank you for your hospitality and kindness😀
This place is NOT a nonprofit or a charity. Their name is misleading and they have the public fooled! They are a for-profit, money-making business. Dont be duped. Prices are extravagant compared to legitimate, non-profit thrift stores. Find a legitimate charity to donate your stuff to and spend your money at places that support charitable causes...
I moved from Chattanooga area to this area so i thought i would check the store out. I will never go back. The prices are to high. I wont give $3.00 for a t-shirt or $6.00 for shoes and the electronics are to high as well. Ill drive and hour back to Chattanooga to the goodwill there. The prices are alot lower. This single mom has to save money for the kids and this place isnt the place to save it.
The store is a disaster there are toys all over the floor people staking racks of clothes but no one notice that the other areas need a bit of attention people are so sweet in this store they just need someone to take control an keep the store clean my boy almost fall over so many stuff animals on the floor

2021-12-30I’ve never seen such empty shelves at a Goodwill! The line to donate was about a mile long but almost nothing to browse through. If you’re thrifting in the area and looking for more options, check out Providence Thrift Store down the road. Open until 7 pm. They come up in maps as just “Thrift Store” and I will leave a review if you care to find it!

2022-04-07Goodwill always has something you want. I went to get some toys for my grandson and was pleasantly surprised by their current selection. I did take away 1 star for the way the store is laid out. I found it difficult to maneuver some aisles with a shopping cart because they were too narrow.

2022-06-15I love this store! If you shop on Tuesday, which is Sr. Day, and you buy things with the correct tag color, you can save a lot of money.

2021-12-23The three stars are for the 3 employees that are happy to do the job they have. I believe the competent cashier is named Karen, and I dont know the names of the two gentlemen that work donations and pickup, but those three are the only ones in there who are helpful. Considering they no longer provide items at a price that is affordable for lower income households, they never even mention it as a possibility anymore, and the fact that every 7 minutes the piped in radio makes sure you know that the new goal is putting their employees to work; its hard to purchase anything. When I know the only people in the community, aside from those 3, who will benefit are the lazy and irresponsible guy who pushes the cart of new inventory back and forth until he can find the plastic aisle where he puts one single item away before pacing back and forth until he sees the girl that works there, but covers her uniform with a hoodie so she can avoid customers. At that point my donation is paying this lazy kid to not do his job and also engage another employee so they arent working. And the cherry on that cake is that commercial comes on every 3 minutes where they tell you the rule is to only shop from the shelves, leave the new inventory in its respective cart until an employee is finished putting them on the shelf. I dont want to pay that kid.

2019-08-19GOODWILL is like a box of chocolates, you never know what youre going to find.A rather ROBUST odor lingered in the facility today (August 18, 2019).. not sure if environmental or clientele.Sometimes you can find treasures and other times its other peoples trash... pays to visit every so often to see what new items have been put out for browsing. Not the friendliest staff but efficient.

2021-01-13I shop here quite often. There was a time when the quality of some of the items were deteriorating. I must say in the past few months they have really made a superb turn around. Very impressed with the quality as well as pricing now. I always find very unique treasures here for quite reasonable prices. I really love the senior discounts on Tues and the Veteran/Police discounts on Thurs. Their strongest asset however are the staff. This store has the sweetest employees ever at checkout!! Thanks for always being so helpful and pleasant.😀

2021-12-21Extremely rude!!! Was not aware of the closing hours and when walking in the staff rudely yelled across the store “we close in 5 minutes and that includes checking out.” A simple we are closed would’ve gotten the point across. Customer service was terrible. Very disappointed.
