I stumbled upon this jewel while walking through the shops. I heard they had good vegan cake, I didnt know how good. This stuff was delicious, exceeded all my expectations. The young woman up front was super friendly and helpful. If I lived in Atlanta theyd catch me here every week. I wish I could get that peanut butter cake shipped to me. Thank yall!
Rating on food alone as the sever/counter person was great!Chili fries- Sooooo not worth the $8. I longed for a more savory, better seasoned chili that I did not get. Would also be nice if the cheese were melted. Vegan shredded cheese unmelted isn’t that great on things like this and ruins texture.Meatball sub- $9.50 with only 2 actual meatballs and the rest was mush. Sauce was more like a sweet almost bbq sauce. My husband’s beyond burger was the best thing and that’s already a beyond burger.
I gave this place two stars merely because the staff were very nice and good spirited. However, the food was not good at all. I ordered a vegan burger with fries and a slice of vegan carrot cake. Unfortunately, the burger and fries were over salted to the point where it was inedible. My food tasted like the chef marinated the batter in seasoning salt overnight and then poured an additional pound of regular salt on it. 🤢Needless to say, my stomach was not happy after taking just two bites. I had to throw the entire meal away including the cake which was also indigestible. I dont think I will be returning.
Wonderful little place! The burgers and cauliflower wings were great! We had no idea the restaurant was nonprofit that supported the homeless (all of the staff are volunteers!) and we were thrilled to find such a great and ethical place to eat.Next time we’re in Atlanta we will definitely be stopping by and trying the fried pickles!
I love coming to Govindas cafe! It has such an open, loving atmosphere, and all of the food is vegan!!I would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in Little 5 Points.Right now, they’ve got summer specials: a flatbread pizza, summer veggie medley salad and summer squash puffs. The craziest thing about it is that the cafe is entirely volunteer-based, and they support a non-profit that feeds the homeless daily.
Owner or employee having a bad day!? Walked by to check it out and Blonde lady with scowl on her face was vigorously sweeping out of the front door not only throwing dust and debris all over us but all over our 9 month year old(who got covered by it because he was riding lower in stroller .. even though we were up close and in plain sight ..won’t be doing business there
My family and I are trying to eat healthy so we tried this Vegan Restaurant... The Vegan Gumbo was good... The chili cheese fries were good... My Husband had the Philly Cheese-steak... He did not like it because he thought it would be like the traditional Philly but it had more ingredients than he would have preferred... I also ordered a salad... It came in a super small bowl so every time I tried to eat it, the food fell all on the table...(it need a bigger bowl) The outside of the restaurant had trash all on the ground... When you walk in you need to go to the counter to place your order first... The waitress does not come to your table to take your order...We sat down at the table first, so I wish it was a little sign somewhere saying to place your order first; because other people got served before us that came in after us... Overall, it was a cool place to eat... I wanted to try the cakes... They looked so delicious but they were $6 a slice... The lady at the register was super nice...
Did you know that the wonderful people here dedicate their entire lives to service! WOW All the profits go to Food4lives and MSI. The staff is doing the work “spiritually, mentally, emotionally..etc”, which = to FOOD MADE WITH LOVE. They are compassionate in nature, tone, actions and spirit, and the cheese on those burgers is fresh, homemade and to die for! Please try the nachos! Or Try their fresh juices for the day or just plain olè try the Shánti burger, named after the divine main server who shares her heart the moment you walk through the door.To support a cause, of a non profit establishment that’ is walking in the footsteps of alignment with source and is on the path to eradicate the three poisons of life is most fulfilling.I get blessings x10, delicious healthy food, and reap good karma from supporting this beautiful spot. What a DIVINE vegan spot ♥️
Some of the food was decent, my food could have been prepared better. The issue we had was that unless we asked, they wouldnt have served the drinks that are supposed to be included with the meal. And the cashier never wanted to look up from his phone and seemed bothered when he had to do something. Ive been to many vegan places that cared a lot more about whether the customers were having a decent experience.
Good large veggie sub. I have been there a few times and the veggie chicken salad sandwich is so good and is very large. The burrito with veggie burger was very bland but the subs are great. I have tried all the seasoned fries and only really liked the Brazilian fries. They have a great flavor. Nice people, clean, fast and healthy place check it out if your veggie or not.
I used to love this place. The employees were nice, the food was great, and they had an awesome buffet on the weekdays. The past few weeks Ive been, its just been awful. Not only are they constantly out of the ONLY gluten free and vegan selection on the menu (sometimes hours before they close), the main cashier there now is just awful. Shes rude, rolls her eyes, and acts as if me spending my money there is the biggest problem of her life. Thats about the only thing I can count on when I go in now. (The guy cashier is really sweet, though.)And when you only have one vegan/gluten free option on your menu and consistently sell out, please just learn to make larger batches. Its frustrating to have to eat a fried soy alternative when youre looking for something healthy. This place used to be one of my favorites; Ive been coming since the they opened. But unless something changes, Ill spend my money elsewhere.
The Brazilian fries are good with the savoury lemon pepper and is great place for vegans and vegetarians. Their Brazilian tater tots are killer good however the after tasty is bad plus it sits for a while. It located in a loving artistic setting, it has vegan pies and cakes. It is an awesome spot to take a vegan family and person . Out of 2 👍 I give it 2 👍😎. Also the Black Bean Burgers are good. When you get your fries either as tater tots or Sweet potato fries. My carnivore family and my vegan niece enjoyed eating there. It was actually pretty nice to eat vegan food for a change. I suggest you go there, their food is mouthwatering good. The picture represents your reaction when you hear your going to Go Vindas Cafe. You act normal but once you hear it your mouth starts to water before you get there.food is 🚀out of this world good, you should 🛬there🌎⛪👍.
Nice friendly environment. A good place to sit to eat and write or read. My burger was crumbly but pretty tasty, I really didnt care so much for the Jamaican fries seasoning.. kind of bland. Hope you guys add BBQ sauce to your condiments. The peach cobbler was good. I dont like the fact that when paying your bill up front its a place for tipping on the receipt. A Tipp to take my order? Maybe a jar should be placed there instead.?As a cook/Sheff, you should know whats in your kitchen and be prepared up front for the day. But I am glad that you found the wheat bread. :) I also recommend using plastic gloves when handling the food. Thanks.
I had the Om burger and it was amazing 🥺❤️ . The waitress was really nice and they even had a tango class happening at the time. When the food came out and so did the chefI didn’t have the chance to enjoy it because it was Togo. just let the chef know the burger is great and I love jackfruit💕☺️✨
My partner and I drove 45 minutes to dine here. That should tell you how excited I was to try the vegan food here, especially after reading reviews and seeing all the tasty food pics. I arrived excited and left disappointed. Here’s what I noticed:1. The inside could use some lights. It’s a tad bit dark, even in broad daylight.2. Print more menus. There were only two menus circulating around. TWO! I’ve seen several customers walk in and ask for a menu only to be turned down and told they didn’t have any more menus. I’m sure this can be fixed by simply printing additional menus.3. I ordered the faux Philly cheese sandwich and chili cheese fries. I expected everything to be good, especially the fries since it was $8 alone! Expensive but I was willing to pay for the experience. When it arrived, not only did it not have cheese, but it was bland and mediocre. I ended up not eating it all. Definitely not worth $8. Maybe $3-4 at best. My Philly cheese sandwich was okay.4. There should be a sign that says order at the front register. I had to ask if we were to sit and be served or not. Reading the reviews of others let me know this is a common question. Why not put a sign up?I think this place has potential. Maybe their other food items are good. But I was really disappointed and will likely not return again.
The food is good if anybody is there to sell it. The last two times Ive been there have not been good. One time we showed up 45 minutes before they closed to order food and they started putting chairs on tables and took away all the condiments. When that happened literally all the customers in the restaurant left and we felt really awkward. 5 to 10 minutes later we had our food and ALL of the employees walked out the front door to smoke cigarettes together. Another time when we went at 7:30 pm the restaurant was closed.Edit**new owners but menu changed and the food is nasty now**
I hate to give a vegan restaurant such a low rating because the world needs more vegan restaurants, but this place is horrible. One of the people at the counter was literally wasted, I could smell the alcohol on him. And also he told me he had been drinking since 9am. He made fun of my boyfriend and me and made us feel very uncomfortable. The other woman just laughed along with him. We ordered, waited forever for our food, and then we were still missing items. And they didnt have ice...or fresh water. We literally drank warm tap water. The entire restaurant was filthy and just covered in a layer of grime. The only reason Im giving two stars instead of one is because the food was actually pretty tasty. Maybe just order takeout. I wont be back though.
When this place first opened, it was clean and welcoming and delicious! Tried to go there recently and the cook and server were both too busy outside smoking a cigarette. I get people have habits but when youre suppose to be serving health, one would expect the staff to be so as well. The place is now grimey and smells like smoke. Has the appearance of a grunge bar now.
I went to Go Vindas once and after my peace wrap and slice of coconut cake i was hooked... and had enough of both to take home for dinner. It did take pretty long for the food to come out after ordering, but they were busy and it was WORTH the wait. Vegan, vegetarian, plant based, or whatever you are you should eat here.
We arrived at 8:05. First thing the girl said was that the kitchen closes at 8:30. (They close at 9) We placed a to-go order (literally the only order they had) Got home neither order had fries. The meatball sub and Philly were both equally flavorless (borderline nasty). This is my first and last visit. By far the worst vegan/vegiterian restaurant I have been to.
I have been plant based living since 2008…. Live blocks away locally to Go Vindas. When they first opened last year it was such a delight! NOW as of August the energy and vibes of the place are totally off, the display coolers do not work, the bathroom feels like a indoor port-a-potty, the floors look like they have not been mopped since the 80s, And there is always a kid running around like its playtime at a daycare. I kept coming back giving this place chances but yesterday i called it quits for good. The feel of this place makes you scared to eat the food. like you will get sick. And if you are plant based like me…. that is one of the many reasons we live this lifestyle is the vibrations. As a business owner i understand things happen BUT this is now consistent. the customer service is and has been HORRIBLE and respect of this establishment has been lost for good.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. My mother brought me here for my birthday because it is rare to find many vegetarian places close to where we live. At the restaurant I got the falafel in a pita and got a to go for the sloppy go (sloppy go) and their peanut butter chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and I would definitely go back.
The environment in this Restaurant is terrible theres trash in the corners of the eating area.I have eaten at this Restaurant 3 times, yesterday being the 4th. And each time I have dined in here the experience has been less than. I order the dog or layer Mexican burrito wrap. The way the menu describes this dish is completely different what is served too you. The menu says its supposed too have cilantro. There was NO cilantro on my plate. I ordered a combo which means a drink and fries is included in your meal. I ordered a simple lemonade, the cup they served the drink in was foggy and the lemonade was warm. I asked for ice and the artendan6said they dont have any????? HOW does a restaurant not have ice?! The fries that came with my meal were extremely firm. The look of this restaurant made me feel dirty. There is not many vegan restaurants in Atlanta, so to have one in in little 5 is a blessing, but not when the owners or staff care about their consumers. This is the last time I pay money to Eat here. None of the kitchen was filled all the hit sauce bottles were empty smh. Terrible.
Its pretty hard to see while driving but definitely worth the parking struggle. I tried a wrap with a chickpea salad filling... kind of like tuna salad. Very good. And the fries were amazing. Only reason for not getting the fifth star is because the parking situation is ridiculous.
I used to love coming here and getting the bahn mi, but lately service has been disappointed, one time I went and they told me its a 30 minute wait on food... woah. Then once, i ordered 2 bahn mis 30 minutes in advance, when I got there the bahn mis had barely any ingredients in them. it was mainly bread. I havent gone back since, and with all the awesome vegan food popping up Im not sure I will anytime soon.
Food is ok, but the customer service needs vast improvements. I didnt feel appreciated at all, even though I was the only customer there when I ordered and came back to pick-up my food. Food is starch and soy heavy. Good to have a vegetarian option close by, which is why it got 2 stars.
On the day I visited, Go Vindas had run out of bread, which is a staple component in nearly every menu item. The wait was 25 minutes for a raw meal of outstandingly bland zucchini pasta that shouldnt have taken more than 5 minutes to prepare. Yes, its vegetarian, but most items are no healthier or lower in calories than standard convenience eats.
I love Govinda Cafe because it is vegan and I dont have to worry about what Im eating. The staff is pheasant and their food is yummy. I especially love the spinach and the mock chicken quesadillas. And you can sit in the window and watch the happenings of the eclectic Little Five Points ~ my favorite part of town!!
I had the smoke sub . It tasted okay. It took about 20 min to make. I saw a woman come in. She seemed as though an every day costumer however she disappeared into the back and I didnt think much of it until this same lady brought me my sandwhich. She was kind. Anyway so I eatmy mediocre sandwhich. And then I realized the meat or whatever tasted a bit weird. But I guess that was normal cause most vegan meats dont taste all that great. Anyway so I leave and go to work. A few minutes later my stomach begins to ache . And i get nauseated. I think its nothing. So the next day my stomach still hurts horrible. I am unable to get up or do normal day to day functions. And I throw up twice. So yeah thanks a lot go vindah. I cant believe I went. Someone I know even told me not to because hed gotten sick because the people he made his food wasnt clean. So yeah. Anyway food was poor. And tables had crumb and debris. And I threw up two god awful times. TWO GOD AWFUL TIMES. thanks a freaking a lot.
The food here is pretty tasty, by my and all of my friends standards. Its kind of expensive for the portion sizes and casualness of this place, but thats to be expected from a vegan restaurant in l5p.Last time I went here, it took us over an hour to get our food (2 sandwiches, one of which was ice cold, and fries that they got wrong after I clarified which ones we wanted twice) because they only had one cook. While I understand that these things sometimes happen, it was definitely excessively inconvenient for what we got.
Ate here last night. I love the food here and I order delivery from here all the time. Since I was in the area I stooped inside for the first time. The cashier (Digby? Thats what the receipt said anyway...) was incredibly rude! I asked her about a food item and she rolled her eyes and said its fine. Not exactly a glowing recommendation. When I did order she sighed loudly and said Ugh. Im not sure what I did to upset/annoy her but it was totally uncalled for. The food took quite a while and the 2 groups that came behind me got their food first. The food is good, but avoid Digby and her attitude at all costs. Dont go inside, just order delivery or carryout.
This was my first time here and the place was nice and prices were reasonable. I got the layer burrito with a side of lemon pepper fries. the fries were amazing but the burrito tasted like water. maybe I came on a bad day but as for now I would not recommend the layer burrito.
My lettuce had black mold all over it. I would love to see more care put into the food by the nonchalant college hipster baristas sitting around on their phones. Worried about the future of this place. Please dont serve food that has gone bad and add considerate measures
The servers are all so rude as if youre disturbing their day never helpful with questions about the menu, not very good for new customers. Ill wait till everyone takes a happy pill then Ill come back some time far. Food was thrown together and shoved in a bag, wow thanks for getting annoyed with the customer that helps you get a check.
Food was so so nothing special. When I think vegan I expect a variety of healthy choices of food and drinks. Thats not whats available here. No alkaline water, no spring water, or fresh juice . They serve purified water and sodas. I recommend Go vegetarian which have great food options.
Asked for tea, was told we dont turn the kettle on in the summer. I can do that but it will take 20 minutes.1) What? Who does that?2) Its April.3) No kettle on Earth takes 20 minutes. I could build a fire and boil water in a cast iron cauldron over the coals faster than that. An electric kettle should take about 90 seconds.4) No really...What?I ordered water and a small salad...which took 45 minutes. The cafe was not crowded (wonder why). The salad was fine but the service is absolutely wretched.
Customer service was horrible! After messing up our order numerous times we were then pushed out of the restaurant by an employee who said Im not trying to rush you but were closed...like really closed. We would have been able to finish our food if our order was correct the first time. We had to wait for our order to be fixed at least 3 times. Im not a hard to please person at all and not many things bother me. But this...speechless. Never coming back here again.
First, they are supposed to open at 12, which in itself is pretty late. But instead most days they dont open til 3 or 4. Also, Ive been by more than 3 times and they dont have certain items ready (vegan meatballs for the mamma gs sub in particular). I spoke to the manager about why its never available after the 3rd time of going with no luck and he told me it just wasnt ready yet. They had run out the night before and had just failed to properly plan and prepare in time for it to be available the next day. Look, I understand this place is in Little 5 Points which screams laid back lifestyle but this place has been a huge disappointment in so many ways
I would definitely recommend this restaurant, the food is really good! The only thing I dont like is that the last two times I tried to by there to eat, there was a sign saying they were closed until further notice!! Someone that saw me reading the sign told me that happens a lot with them!! Smh not good for businessI went there this past Tuesday, & the menu is completely different from what they use to serve!!😑😑😭😭
Heard a lot of great things about this place from Sswirl World a good friend and poet I know. I go in and have a friend pay for a Quesidilla (suppose to be fire with jalepnos I think onions whatever Sswirl said was in it and some fire salsa... What came out of that kitchen was flimzy and no salsa... Also no jalapeños in the quesedilla... Wow robbery... But since I was starving and already waited 45 min for this... We good... I will just come here for Fries. Then to get a discount or refund was hell... Poor customer service... KAYLA, Armando and baba sol... Smh... Everybody has bad days. Just dont take it out on customers... Especially ones that were for your business... I can feel energy and the new energy on this place is not inviting... Thanks for the memories
We walked in and they looked at us like we were unwelcome. We got there at 8pm she didn’t greet us at all so I asked do we sit anywhere? It was extremely awkward she said here’s a menu that was all wet we sat down to look at the menu and then she said we close at 8:30pm which wasn’t even enough time to order or eat I said it says 9pm she responded no we close at 8:30pm it clearly says 9pm. I’m a vegan visiting from Dallas I like to try vegan restaurants when I travel this place looked good but I was wrong it needs an upgrade and new employees apparently, I never make a review but I am very sad how bad the customer service was.
Cute, somewhat of a whole in the wall. The menu was definitely full of variety. The food was delicious, and the environment was great; I was able to keep some sort of privacy while also meeting many other great people. I think I’m officially a regular! The “Eggless” Salad Sandwich with Jerk Fries!
I honestly didnt like my short stint of being vegan but I loved this place the food was good and the people were nice if you are vegan its a must go if not you should still go but only if you happen to be in the area nothing to go out of your way and go to type of place.
There Gari Wrap is the greatest thing ive ever had, service was great and they were so sweet to let my friend and i let us use there charger because we forgot my friends keys in an uber but then our phones died, it was messy but they were so nice to let us borrow it and its just a good safe place i loved it

2022-04-23Love this place! The food was absolutely spectacular. We had spring rolls, Philly Cheesesteak, and an Om Burger. The people were amazing. Volunteer run and every meal purchased helps feed the homeless. What a beautiful concept. I highly recommend!

2022-04-16Delicious vegan food in a small spot in funky and eclectic L5P. The shrimp poboy and eggplant hoagie were both great. Try the seasoned fries as well especially the lemon pepper. I really enjoyed the vibe in this place it was very welcoming and our servers were friendly and helpful. Our teenager really liked the food as well. Great spot for vegans and vegetarians.

2021-03-11This place was a true Vegan Experience. There was a Chill welcoming Vibe. Vibrant colors and music. I think we were luck to get serenaded while we ate. There was a guy playing the saxophone and another on guitar and all of a sudden there was a mellow jam season going on. The money you spend there goes right back into the community. Its a nonprofit type of co-op from what I gathered. This guy sitting there suggested the nachos that were Not on the menu but should be because they were top notch. My friend ordered this massive burger and fries and they were LEGIT. We had a side of fried spring rolls too that were good but we werent expecting them to be fried so it kinda threw us for a loop but we cleaned the plate so yeah food was EXCELLENT.

2018-06-27Im not a fan of grunge just to be grunge and this place is located in little 5 points which is a grunge type area however the inside was less to be desired they didnt have air the cooler for the sodas was out and there was a dirty rag on the floor in front. The atmosphere was dark and dirty. The food was tasty but I couldnt help but the wonder if it was sanitary.I may visit again to see if its different (better)Oh the no-tuna sandwich was delish! The peace wrap is tasty as well

2018-04-16The Meatballs with rice and kale were indeed good. Wouldve liked a better experience with the clerk, but, overall it was okay, not everyone is outgoing and enthusiastic like myself. The decor is rather simple, however, the large wood tables added a welcomed rustic feel.

2019-01-05The food was really good! I had a burrito (protein dream) and a mango lassi. The staff was very friendly and I asked if I can seat anywhere and they agreed. The waiter came to my table and handed me the menu. My food came as expected with little wait time.I wish this place had a sign letting people know to seat anywhere or place order first because it could get confusing on to who came first and who to get the order from first. This place is on the small scale so ordering to go would probably be best.I do recommend this place to anyone though.

2021-11-17Fully vegan place contrary to what the sign says. The food was decent. They have a good dessert selection. They have a program to donate food for the homeless and they have mantra reading nights. Ran by a white Hindu woman. The walls were covered with pictures of Krishna and there where crystals and essential oils, and mantra music. They were trying to tell me how to use the crystals to open chakras and increase vibrations. I did not want to offend anyone but I did not like this as a Christian. A woke place.

2021-09-18Very disappointed. One of the worst places I’ve been to. It’s laughable. Terrible food! Like, it’s concerning for the amount of money they are charging for sub par dishes. The mushroom dumplings were something like an 8 year old would have put together: 6 soggy dumplings, with a pile of canned mandarins in the center and raw sliced almonds dumped all over the dish. Oh, and the plate was doused in ordinary soy sauce. It still blows my mind that we paid $15 for that terrible looking and tasting food/dish. Sigh! The carrot cake and red velvet cake were dry AF. They don’t even cover the cakes and let them sit open in the fridge, which tends to dry them out.Staff and owners are unprofessional and need some lessons in customer service. It’s also located in a shady neighborhood.Avoid this place at all costs and spend your hard earned money somewhere else.

2022-03-19Vegan wings 4 out of 5 stars. Taste of the sauce is ok for a first time try. The consistency wasn’t the best
