This place is awesome. My dog is been here for 2 months. They take care her like was me. Cherish, James and there team are a great people. Every week that we visit our dog she is happy and in very good condition. There grooming is awesome too. She always smell good and her nail trim. She also was in training during her stay and I can tell cherish did a awesome job. Every time I call I got a very good update about her and I also receive pictures of her and her training. I’m very bless that I found grace kennel during my stay here in Augusta Ga and if I come back for sure I will choose them again. Thank You so much guys for everything you do.
My favorite reason to like this place is that they dont force you to have your dog snipped/fixed!Have had my dogs (one chihuahua mix and a Min Pin) stay there 3 times. About a week each time. I asked for and immediately got a tour of the place. The people seem to enjoy their jobs and the dogs looked happy. This facility keeps dogs separated. My boys were together but I never had to worry about them fighting with others. Place was clean. I paid for my dogs to have baths on the day prior to pick up and both times they were clean and smelling good. They used my food as directed and informed me of my dogs health/behaviors which coincide with the behaviors at home. So, I know they really spent time with them.First day I was in a rush and they took care of everything quickly which usually is a process to give vaccine records and fill paperwork out. My dogs never got sick and were always excited when I took them back. Almost like my dogs got a vacation too. 🐩🐶Wish it was a bit cheaper and would love it if they included video time.
We love this place! My malamute is very big and not everyone knew how to deal with him until we found Mr. Jimmy and Graced Kennels. They helped us with training, grooming and lots of loving. My baby Timber goes bananas when he gets to the door, he likes it and we know they take good care of him. We travel abroad often and they are wonderful with his play time, feeding and loving care. I would not take him anywhere else!!! We love the pictures and email updates, make me feel at ease. If you need great boarding and day care for your fur baby , this is the place. Big running pens and large kennels for sleeping ❤️🤗😘👍 Thank You Graced Kennel family!!!
We have boarded our two dogs here for years. They are so excited to get there that they rush in the door and just about jump over the front desk trying to get in. All personnel are very professional and kind. We had an older dog with a serious health emergency that required a trip to the emergency vet. The personnel at Graced Kennel were both efficient and professional handling the situation. But most importantly, they were beyond kind and compassionate staying with our pet at the vet until we could arrive. They would not leave because our pet needed a familiar face even though it was several hours past the closing time at kennel. I highly recommend them to all my friends.
I have been involved with graced kennels for over three years now.I have worked behind the scene and have also been trained in the procedures of the front and back kennels. The manager is extremely thorough, competent, and organized. Every procedure has a purpose for keeping dogs, cats, and humans safe. Animals are handled humanely and kindly. Animals are happy and well cared for..pet owners are kept abreast of the condition of their pets. Transparency is evident. It is an excellent facility where I house 9 of my rescue dogs and have so for years. I highly recommend graced kennels as a boarding facility.
We have used Graced Kennels for over 5 years. They are wonderful to our dogs. They protect all dogs by insisting all dogs have proof of vaccinations and that kennel cough/bordalla vaccination is done at least 14 Days prior to boarding. I’m very glad they keep such high health standards for all dogs. It only takes one exemption to potentially cause problems for all. They send reminders in their email confirmations if you are going to need to provide proof of revaccinations. This policy can catch pet owners off guard, so if you don’t kennel your dogs often, and if your vet doesn’t send reminders, or if you miss these reminders for some reason, it becomes necessary to write your own reminders for the next year. It will be your luck to have to board your dog the day after the vaccination has expired. And Grace Kennel has to have proof from your vet, which is a wonderful policy. The staff is friendly and kind to my dogs. My dogs are excited to see their kennel care takers when I need to kennel them. I love the option they offer for pet pictures and stories before bedtime. My dogs love the extra care they receive in their nightly cuddles and stories. They always look relaxed in the pictures we receive from Graced staff. Kenneling a dog can be stressful anywhere. A kennel isn’t a home environment, it’s a kennel. Graced Kennel is THE BEST kennel we have ever used, in the 20 years we have had dogs. I have recommended them to friends and will continue to do so. Graced has allowed us to travel knowing our dogs are looked after, pampered, played with and loved on and professionally groomed when we are away. Check them out. Go meet Cherish and Jimmy and their team. From the minute you enter the kennel reception area, you will see what I’m talking about. It’s clean, and there is calming music playing softly. A kennel team member always greets me and my dogs with a warm welcome back. My dogs are happy to see their Graced friends. I highly recommend them to you.
We’ve been using Graced Kennels for our now 12 year old Yorkie, Paris, for about 5 years now. We have been very happy with the care our dog has received over the years. The true test for us, is how Paris behaves when we pick her up from her boarding. She behaves like “normal” ! We’ve experienced other kennels and have seen our dog come home a different dog than when we left her ( nervous, anxious, chewing behaviors) the fact that she always comes home from Graced Kennels her usual self tells us she is treated well. The staff is always friendly and it’s obvious they are passionate about caring for all animals. We wouldn’t use any other kennel in the Augusta area.
My dog was there during masters week. They took great of him. They keep a daily log on him. The place is clean and the staff is nice and work hard to keep the animals happy. The kennel is secluded in a neighborhood. Its easy to get to. The manager responds fast to messages. I am satisfied with this kennel.
Graced Kennels is a phenomenal place to bring your fur babies. Your babies will receive 5 star treatment and SO much love. They are patient and attentive to your every need. I highly recommend Graced Kennels, you will surely be at ease while youre away. Best Dog boarding I have ever been to.
I currently work at Graced Kennels. The staff has a genuine love for the dogs. We form a personal bond with all dogs, whether its a boarder or a rescue. The dogs light up when they see us. Our facility is clean to say the least. We have always had excellent reviews by the Department of Agriculture. We are expected to take our job very seriously because this job is all about the animals. My manager has helped me so much. When I first started, she approached me to give me helpful advice. Her demeanor made me so comfortable. I am never afraid to ask her for help. I can pretty much talk to her about anything. She even babysat my son for me once when I had a scheduling conflict. She bought my son a car seat when I wasnt able to get to the store. She helped make Christmas even better for him & bought him gifts. I also consider her a true friend. Our employees are expected to show up on time, care for the animals properly, make sure the facility is cleaned properly, and communicate. That is not too much to ask.
I have been boarding my dog here for more than two years and I absolutely love graced kennels. They do such a great job with my dog who has some particular special needs. I know my dog is in good hands here. Highly recommend! I also really enjoy the pictures they post on Instagram and Facebook. I can tell my dog is happy and enjoying her visit.
My pets, (dog and cat) had a wonderful 3-week overnight experience during our overseas trip. Staff is so sweet and pleasant. They sent me emails and pictures of Kota and Frisk while I was in Australia. My pets were well taken care of and shown plenty of Love. The facility and the grounds are wonderful. My pets love daycare at Graced too.
I can not say enough about Graced Kennels and the staff! They were wonderful from the moment I got there to drop of my little girl, to the day I picked her up! They emailed me pictures and report cards on how she was doing. It was my first time boarding my dog ever, and she is 9 so I was very nervous! She loved that they had pools for her to play in, she is a water baby! She also got bed time story’s ever night, along with a peanut butter filled kong and dog safe ice cream! I will board her again now that I have found a safe and caring establishment that loves animals as much as I do!
The facilities are very nice -- big kennels (NOT cages) for the animals to comfortably move around in, and I feel that the staff treated my dogs like their own. We had our two Pugs with medical needs stay their for two nights, and they did an excellent job administering medications. I believe our dogs actually had a good time staying there. Definitely recommend this kennel.
Being a former employee at Graced Kennel I can definitely say that we did not “force” the animals to look happy and fake any photos of any kind. We had a small staff in order to make sure that each and every animal that boarded with us had individual attention at all times. Also, our manager never harassed any of the employees and in fact when during really busy work months such as Christmas and the Fourth of July she would order all the staff food from her own pocket money. I enjoyed working there, it was fast pace at times and stressful at moments but isn’t every job? I will say as a fact that the animals that stay there are NEVER abused in any way. In fact, as soon as you get hired there you have to take a special handling class to make sure that you know how to properly handle the animals there.
I have taken my dogs here many times when I travel. The staff is very caring and has low turnover. Every time I pick my dogs up they are clean and happy. I would recommend graced kennels to anyone looking for a kennel or animal daycare. I know my pets are treated great during their stays at graced kennels.
We board our two pups here when going out of town. They are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and caring people. My girlfriend and I have had zero issues with them and they even have an option to give your pet a peanut butter filled Kong, play time, bed time story (Lol), and they send you periodic updates and pictures, so you can rest assured that your little family member is in good hands!
We LOVE Graced Kennels! We have three dogs and this is the one boarding facility that they all seem to look forward to visiting. Cherish, Jimmy and the rest of the team will go above and beyond what is necessary to make sure that the animals are well taken care of and that I know my dogs are well taken care of. Not to mention how flexible and easy to work with they all are. We were expecting our first baby during Masters Week, but as it goes with babies, we had no idea exactly *when* the little guy was finally going to make an appearance and we worried about what to do with the pups if we had to make a dash to the hospital unexpectedly. No worries. Cherish allowed us to make reservations for this VERY busy time a few months in advance to make sure there were spots for them and then didnt have a problem when we had to keep adjusting the dates. After the baby arrived, Cherish suggested having friends drop off blankets that the baby had been wrapped in to give to the dogs so that they would be familiar with the new smells and make the transition back home with a new (and unknown) family member easier. She sent me videos of the staff giving the dogs the blankets and kept us updated on their response. I also love the variety of outdoor activities available to the dogs-pools, jolly balls...you name it. I never worry about our trio getting bored or just sitting in a cage with no stimulation. In addition to the boarding facility, Cherish also offers dog training, and our Lab/Pit mix, who has somewhat of a different personality went through her Doggie Bootcamp program. It was money well spent! Not only was she able to get a read on his problem behavior, but pointed out ways for my husband and I to be better and more consistent owners and leaders for all of our dogs. She and Jimmy came out to our house and helped identify ways to address problem behaviors that we were specifically seeing at home. She met me at the park several times to also address ways to deal with his behavior in public. She was very honest with us and I appreciated her thoughtfulness and experience. If it werent for her help, I dont know that we would have been able to keep this dog in our home-and that was a truly devastating scenario for us. She gave me confidence in the knowledge that we were doing the right thing for our dog. Not to mention the fact that shes just a lovely human being in general. The whole team at Graced Kennels is wonderful.
Unlike many boarding facilities, this kennel housed my dog in its own, large, indoor run as opposed to a crate. The facility is very clean and my Zanos was very well taken care of. He was allowed to have his own blankets and toys from home. I forgot his food, but they had plenty on hand to fill his belly. The staff even read him a bedtime story before putting him to bed for the night! There is no boarding facility in the CSRA that I would rather take my dog to. Very friendly staff.
Graced Kennels accommodated my pups last minute because my regular sitter wasn’t available. Overall, the pups seemed to have done okay. However, I do want to note I left food for 10 days and was told they ate all of the food although they only stayed 5 days. This was also odd because one of the pups has never eaten a full bowl of food (the vet says she isn’t food-motivated), but they said she ate all of the food, every single time. I think pet parents know their pups very well and I would have liked to get accurate information. Also, the dogs stayed four nights and smelled terrible. I was concerned that they may have relieved themselves in the kennel.
We were fortunate enough to board our precious kitty here. The staff is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the care of animals and will make you feel at ease when you drop off your baby. The years of experience & compassion for animals is really what makes this place different from any other! Thank you Graced Kennels!
It was clean and the animals were very happy. I saw employees playing outdoors with different dogs and I could tell they were enjoying themselves. I boarded my little dog there for 5 days and she was so happy playing with little dogs. I saw her before she saw me. Thank you Cherish and especially Jimmy for his hands on special care of my little Sugarfoot.
Ive been working at Graced Kennels for 6 months now. I can honestly say we have the best staff working here who loves these fur babies to the core! We put these babies ahead of us and everything else. When we come to work we hang our outside problems at the door before we walk in so our focus is on everybodies babies with love and attention. We make sure they are clean and their environment is clean. Very organize in the front And back so we wont miss anything. Yes we work 10-12 hours a day and eat as we go. We are okay with that because once again its all about these fur babies. Not everybody can handle this job because this job isnt just for anyone! Now... my boss Mrs. Cherish Danforth is one of the best bosses I have ever had working at any job. Her passion for these babies is out of this universe! I have never seen someone care for these dogs as she does. She carries the world on her shoulders with balancing between home and work. When she is at work she expects certain things to be done the right way and nothing less. She helped me and my son get on our feet by simply giving me the opportunity to work here. Her family and Graced Kennel family is one of the few reason I am staying in Augusta and making a forever home because she gave me a chance to prove myself when no one else would. She will never know how grateful I am to have her and Mr. Jimmy in my life. They are truly a blessing! I work here because I love this job, your fur babies as well as the rescues, the staff and my wonderful boss.
Very unprofessional, they cannot handle a scared dog. They expect your dog to be excited to go there and blamed us for not bringing our dog to daycare for being scared. So dumb. I found a better boarding facility that was great about handling my dog, costs less and it is at a vets office so at least I know if something happens while Im away theres a vet on site.
Absolutely the best kennel in the CSRA area. The care provided to my Chase was beyond exceptional. The puppy suite with a television for her to watch and multiple cameras for me to view her while she stayed at the kennel exceeded my expectations. The staff was wonderful, they provided pictures and videos for me via text messaging.
This was our furry babies first time boarding here and the staff took such great care of them and gave them the love and attention they needed to keep them calm and happy. The pictures we got of then during their stay were adorable and I could tell they were very happy. This will definitely be our kennel of choice when we are in Augusta. Thank you guys so much 😊
I inherited my dog Max when my Aunt died. I have never owned a house dog and dont know much about getting a dog groomed so I asked around. One of my co workers rcommended Graced. The service was OUTSTANDING. The facility waiting area was clean and did not smell. Jimmy was very helpful. He took the time to explain to me about types of cuts and services available; so I knew exactly what I wanted for Max. The hours are convenient too.I used a previous groomer and the atmosphere felt like a factory. There was no lobby or waiting area. Just crates holding dogs as soon as I opened the door. Max is an older dog and always looked terrifed when I went there to pick him up.When I picked him up from Graced, he was so happy (tail wagging and running around). And he looked GREAT!!!!I will use Graced again and again and I have already recommended them to friends.
Poor communicating with the entire staff. Rules on how long an animal needs to be vaccinated before boarding was never discussed. As a veterinarian from Tuskegee University class of 2013 I was denied services because the manager who doesnt have medical experience or knowledge refused to believe that my 8 year old, 94 lb in pristine health rottweiler was unvaccinated. I explained to her as veterinarian it is unethical for us to vaccinate our own pets, so I didnt have a document stating that off hand. I explained to her that I had just relocated to this area and circumstances arises where I needed to board him. The owner asked did I have the stickers from the vials? I asked her how would that prove those stickers were given to him? The manager never looked at my credentials or license to verify any of my story. She explained that exceptions couldnt be made, that despite me paying to vaccinate my pet by a colleague the week I was attending on boarding him just to have legal documentation would not suffice. Discrediting a professional is not only unprofessional but tact less. Its like talking to a doctor and saying we cant make changes to the prescription instructions.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Dropped my dogs (2 mini poodles) off at 9:00 a.m they werent done being groomed until 6:00 pm. It took them 9 HOURS to service my dogs. I was quoted $65 for the both of them and when I went to pay they charged me $85!!! They tried to justify the price because they said one of my dogs was being difficult, but he was locked in a kennel for 8 hours! Of course he is going to be difficult he had been overly anxious ALL DAY! I asked them to please work with me on the price given that they kept my dogs for so long but they REFUSED. I again stated I was not satisfied with the service and felt they were overcharging me, and the groomer said I could either pay or I could go home without my dogs. That woman literally held my dogs hostage and gave me NO choice but to pay her the $85 as if she deserved it. This is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL dog groomer I have ever done business with. I will never do business with them again and I highly recommend that you dont either. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. GO ELSE WHERE!
Second time boarding my 1 year old persian in their cat section. They are absolutely spectacular. Robin, Jim and Allison took great care of the little guy. He requires maintenance like eye wiping daily because hes evolutionarily challenged. They have done another marvelous job. They sent me photos daily and ensured that he was happy and exploring and making friends. Cant say enough good things.
I love this place and so does my ZEE.....my Boston terrier. We love the staff especially Jimmy! I’ve used them for 3 years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Their rates and other prices are very reasonable. My two boxers, Sox and Drizzy, our boxers go also but they miss home and aren’t a friendly as Zee but the staff handle them all so well. No complaints here! Now to call and check on my boys, yes daily reports are also welcomed!
Have been using these guys for several years now, they have great clean areas for pets to be, a beach area, cooling pools, wonderful shaded runs, outside shaded kennels, inside kennels, theyll even read your pet a bedtime story! Staff is caring, very knowledgeable, and attentive.
Ill be honest the first few times I took my dog there I was extremely pleased. Dog seemed happy and people that work there are extremely nice. The last (& final) time I took him there though ruined them for me. I picked him up on a Sunday around 10:30AM and he was extremely excited to see me. When he saw me though he peed on the floor in a TREMENDOUS amount. First of all, my dog never pees on the floor but you can argue that he was just very excited to see me. That would not have been a problem if there had not been such a large amount of urine. This told me a) they had not let him out that morning and b) the last time they let him out was 6:30PM THE FLIPPIN NIGHT BEFORE! If Im paying someone $70+ they better at least treat him better than a convict.
My dog apparently “tripped over a root” while she was in the care with the boarders. Turns out after taking her to the hospital her ligaments in her knee are stretched out far beyond where they need to be for a dog her size and it’s causing her kneecap to slip out of place. It has been a week since this incident and she still isn’t walking on it. If she isn’t better in another week we will be forced to look into surgery. Graced kennels claims they are not responsible for this injury and will not pay the bills for something that happened in their care! I will never take my dog to them again and highly recommend that anyone reading this find somewhere else to take your pet!
The first time I took my dog there it was for the Thanksgiving weekend and it was raining and suppose to rain the next few days so I was surprised to see they had set up kennels outside but I figure that they wouldnt let my dog stay wet and stay in the cold the whole time. However, when I picked up my dog he had a runny nose and was coughing like he had a hair ball in his throat. A few days later we received a call from them informing us that there was a dog that contracted kennel cough during the same time my dog was there they didnt offer to pay for our dog to go to the vet or offer any assistance to ensure our dog was okay. Thankfully our dog was okay and it was only a scare. We recently planned to get away for the weekend and because it was going to be short noticed thing and they already had the shot record for our one of our dogs ( we adopted a new dog since the first time we used them) we decided to give them another chance. I get there to check in my dogs and the receptionist tells me that the new dog is missing a shot so I try to see if my vet can give the shot to the new dog before we need to leave and ask if I get the shot if they will let her stay. The receptionist says no, so I remind him about what happened last time and how Im giving them another chance and how its disappointing that they are unable to work with me. The receptionist at that point starts arguing with me that its not their fault without any sympathy for my predicament. I guess it serves me right for trying to give them another chance. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone as its obvious that they dont care about dogs or people.
Graced Kennel is by far the best!!! You walk in with your fur baby, and can tell they love all animals. James Cherish Danforth, you guys make this possible. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Narnia and all the other furrbabies you see on a daily basis. You guys rock!
Owners would rather argue on Facebook in comments when they failed to notify owners of possible contamination of kennel cough until it was made Facebook public. No apologies over the phone in private but in a public comment want to apologize. They recently raised their prices for what? More money, less care. Stop trying to argue and learn better customer service!
I was very skeptical to leave my dog at any kennel over night but this place seemed promising and they were very nice and convincing when I did a walk through the day before... I told them that my Rhodesian ridgeback was going to need to stay for two nights knowing that I would come back the next day to pick her up and Im very glad that I did. Upon picking her up I paid what ended up being 43 dollars for less than a 24hr stay. When I got home she spent literally over five minutes peeing, then drank and ate through entire bowl fulls of water and food which she never does... She then went back outside peed and pooped and slept the entire day and night without interruption... She continued to be sick and throwing up for almost a week afterwards.... Really makes me wonder what kind of place They think they are getting away with, but I would never recommend it for anyones pet
I just came in to ask for a reservation for my pet the place super clean good smell I liked that the dogs had a huge space where they felt free and very happy The manager or person in charge took care of us very kindly they did not have space for my pet (dog) but everything that I observed at that moment that I was there, I liked

2022-01-25Sorry thought I had done a review for Grace before. I have a very active, verbal, Maltese named King. I was scared of having him in daycare being of his attitude. Upon arrival he was excited, as he is always, but realized moma wasn’t staying, only he was. So scared quickly sat in for us both. They assured me he would be fine. Well at the end of the work day I returned to pick my baby up and they all looked beat. My baby gave them a working out.😃 They were not just great here at Grace they were AWESOME! They are very communicative with any updates or concerns and very professional in the manner they handle it. My baby has stayed in their boarding as well for 4 days and was wonderfully cared for. They made me feel welcomed and knew they genuinely loved caring for my baby. Love Grace!💜 Thank you Grace and keep doing what you guys do.

2022-04-08We were in town for the Masters and needed a place for our Frenchie to stay for two days. Never having been here are basing my decision on reviews I can definitely say it was the best decision I could have made for him. I spoke with Jimmie on the phone and they were so accommodating as I had special requests. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the facility and the staff are amazing. Rocco enjoyed his stay and highly recommend Graced Kennels.

2018-05-29I am blessed enough to be the manager of this amazing facility and hard working staff. I also started a rescue group in 2014 because I have such a strong passion for animals. I couldnt be more blessed to have the opportunity to lead such hard working animal loving people. The animals safety and well being is my first priority. Their mental and physical health is something my staff works hard to maintain. They are each trained in pet health and safety along with handling as well. We take our job seriously and realize the trust you place in us by them your fur kids in our care. I am a tough but fair leader. I am old school with my work ethic and expect professionalism when it comes to our responsibilities. However, I deeply love my GK staff family and would give them the shirt off my back because Graced Kennel is what it is because of our dedicated staff. Its not a job that all can handle but those that can are a unique group of people its been an honor to know. As far as the animals go, I am a canine trainer as well. I have been taking care of animals for 12 years professionally and its what I live for. We all become very attached to the animals in our care. We have cried when those that have our lives their time here pass on or when another chapter leads them to travel to other places with their family. We celebrate when your fur kids overcome milestones or add a new fur or human family member to the pack. You see everyone here puts animals before we put ourselves because that is what put us here to do. I spend more time with the animals and staff of Graced kennel than I do with my own family. We work long hours, sometimes in the rain, heat or cold. We walk and eat because we put your animals needs above our own. I am proud of my staff and the dedicated customers that continue to keep Graced kennels going. You guys rock!

2018-05-30We have used Graced Kennels many times in the past two years and are grateful that they are here to care for our dogs. We had up until 2 weeks ago 5 dogs of various breeds, ages and sizes. Yorkie up to a giant Golden-doodle. Special needs were taken care of while still keeping the pack together. This we greatly appreciate and feel that Management and Staff both take extra steps to keep all of the dogs comfortable, happy and not stressed. The Yorkie even gets some special one on one time in the office. More is always better but what we look for in a kennel is clean, safe and responsible care for our dogs. This Graced Kennels does without doubt. The place that we used before was recommended and did the best they could BUT there were too many dogs mixed together during the day and we felt too few employees to watch for safety. It is up to the owner of the pets to decide what is the best place for their individual pets. We felt we could do better and found Graced Kennels. We feel that our dogs are very well cared for and we would recommend them to anyone. It is a smart, professional and dedicated business with Management that trains, oversees and expects the Staff to be just that.

2021-12-20Just read a response back to a customer yall had and to see how you respond back to customers, even if it is a bad review really shows how this place is handled. To call someone a bad owner is truly saddening when you have no idea what they have going on or how much a work for what they have! Also having your own employee pay for a customers service because they let it slide since it wasn’t past 12 for long is saddening. Especially during the holiday season, it would be one thing if they did it multiple times but it being a “mistake” they shouldn’t have to!

2019-10-09We enrolled our fur baby in weekly doggie day care with training package so that Cherish could work with her on basic obedience skills. Initially I was very apprehensive about leaving our puppy but those fears were quickly put to rest. Cherish is a great trainer and her commitment to the animals is exceptional. We are thankful for her expertise and patience. We also want to extend our thanks to the entire staff at Grace Kennels for their friendliness and their tireless efforts to maintain a clean and safe facility.
