Grindhouse Killer Burgers in other cities:
I would leave no stars at all for the place if I could we were so excited to come here to eat today for Fathers day. We drove over 45 mins to come here today to be treated rudely as soon as we walked in the door no greeting or anything then I stood there waiting to be seated when she rudely states you have to order here which I did not know I told her sorry Ive never been here before. We start ordering our food then go to pay when she tells me that they dont except cash so here we are in the parking lot trying to find somewhere else nearby to eat I am disappointed and angry at the service and employees and cash is money i wont be back for sure .
Truly EPIC burgers and fries. Dont miss the fried pickles or sweet potato fries, as they are great alone, but when matched with the chipolte mayo sauce, your tongue will find new favorite frontiers. If you dont live nearby, show up with friends willing to trade bites on the Euro, Cowboy and Hillbilly burgers, since they are SO DIFFERENT AND SO GOOD! If the weather is good, head upstairs to the giant deck covered up with umbrella seating, big screen TVs and a full bar.
Extremely disappointed in the rude waiter that severed us 4/27/2022 at 1pm. We ate lunch there for a business meeting. Day (which was the name given on the check) came over to our table to take our order, we asked for just a second but we were ready. We took approximately 10 seconds to make final choice and wrap up our convo. He then felt comfortable enough to tell four grown women that we need to hurry and finish talking because we were “rude” because we were taking literally 10 seconds to make our decision. I was horribly disappointed in his condescending tone and disrespectful demeanor. I will not support a business that does not value customer service. Especially as we are four Black women on a business meeting VERY obviously being disrespected.
Would have given 5 stars but the killer lemonade was a bit lame (too weak). However the burgers were great, fries were fresh and crispy. Also ordeted the crispy brussel sprouts with sauce on the side, which wete very tasty. If you want the best burger (and they have many varities to choose from), the Grindhouse is the place to go.
Just dined today on their upstairs patio. The double Dixie burger I ordered medium was between raw to well done. The two patties were not well prepared. It was supposed to come with fried green tomato, it didn’t as they forgot to add it. They brought it after I pointed it out and it was soaking in oil and fried many hours before they served it. More than that the waiter charged me in the bill the $1.50 for the tomato that was supposed to be there in the first place. Sides tried were not freshly prepared as well.Beer was cold and great. It was first and last time visiting, hope they can fix the issues with their food. Similar issues observed with the people on the table next to ours.
Delicious. I had a double with cheddar and the classic toppings. I also ordered the fries topped with chilli. Out of curiosity, I asked for their signature sauce on the side. The chilli was good, made with brisket. The signature sauce was a fine accompaniment. The burger was outstanding. If you like a good burger, I recommend a visit
I got the regular Grindhouse burger and it was great. The bottom floor you order at the counter and seat yourself, the top floor is full service. The service was awesome, our server was very attentive, overall it was a great experience. Would recommend. I cant wait to visit, probably often, and try something different on the menu every time.
I loved my experience here a couple weeks ago. The burgers are seriously so unique and SO TASTY. The service was fantastic and casual. The music was good too, loving it as Im a 90s kid lol. Only thing I didnt like was my alcoholic shake, the stimulus package or whatever its called, the mint chocolate chip one, but thats my own fault for ordering something with peppermint schnapps which I absolutely hate. If I enjoyed the alcohol, it would have been a really really good shake! Next time Ill be getting a regular one! Thank you guys for your wonderful service!
Firstly, the location is sweet, the interior is stylish and spacious with good AC. Theres options for sports if you fancy it but it doesnt intrude on the seating. The food is incredibly cheap and potentially the best burgers Ive had in Athens. You can get a burger and drink for as little as $7, with so many options for toppings and extras. The service is really quick and polite.Special mention to the Impossible Burger. Made with plant proteins its neigh impossible to differentiate it from regular beef patties. So its definitely good for vegetarians. Overall a must visit if youre in the area.
Lauren a staff member at Grindhouse Killer burgers is the best! It was refreshing to have someone give such good customer service. I was waiting at the bar downstairs for a friend to arrive and she offered me a beverage while I waited, gave me a menu and then offered me an appetizer. She was friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Once my friend arrived she took our order promptly and we found a seat at a table. The food arrived soon after and it was cooked to perfection. They have the best veggie burgers and sweet potato fries! Fried pickles are the best in Athens! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Ehh. I was expecting killer food. My sweet potato fries were cooked too long and I have a tooth thats been bothering me just enough that I couldnt eat them. Impossible burgers were extremely bland. I make them at home a lot and they never turn out that bland, so idk what went wrong. My husband agreed. Probably just caught them on a bad day. Im willing to try it again. Unfortunately, my husband isnt.
Food is absolutely delicious. Such a messy burger but sooooo delicious. This was the first time my Wife ate at Grindhouse. She was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. The service was friendly and the establishment was clean. Good prices on the beer selection. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
Good food and great service :). Even with a crowded restaurant, the employees were efficient and friendly! One gentleman, Ben, was especially nice to us. We were in town for business and just wanted a chill place for a quick dinner. Burgers were good, fries were even better 👍
I placed a order online for dinner for my family and I noted to make sure the burgers were well done. I got them home and all burgers were raw not medium but they were bleeding. I called the Athens store and told them and he was pretty smart about it and finally said that I could have a $10 burger card when I actually paid $40 for my family’s dinner as I went to ask how I get the card he hung up on me. It was so bad I gave it to my dog.
The milkshakes were fantastic, the food came quickly and it was also great. Love the selection and customizability of the burgers and the alternative options for meat etc. Overall great place to eat in a well kept terrace with quake prices. Will definitely visit again.
Excellent food excellent staff decent drink selection. Even during the current times plenty of space for large or small groups without overcrowding. Burger selection is excellent and the customization options are absolutely fantastic. Service was quick and efficient. Will be returning for many future visits.
My boyfriend and i went here may 7th, 2021. patio upstairs was amazing. our server was also really nice. my boyfriend had the impossible burger and i had a regular grindhouse style jr. burger. burger was good, could have been a bit more flavor but that’s fine. fries were a tad on the cold/warm side but it was still crispy. overall, i would go here again.
This place used to be great, however in recent years(COVID aside) they have really gone downhill. It seems like every time I go there they are either closed or you wait so long in line you end up leaving. I think it will be a while before I try and have a burger or drink there, which is a shame because the patio upstairs is divine and a great place to have a nice drink.
This place is great. My server was a great guy and very attentive. I had the fried pickles Be careful they are very hot inside when they come out. I had the double cowboy burger cooked perfect. Great burger!! I was upstairs in the bar area, its partially open. Parking seems limited but I did get a spot and someone was waiting when I pulled out.
Just ordered through Door Dash for the Athens location. We had burgers for 2 adults and 3 kids. We all loved them. My 7 year old daughter that never finishes a meal devoured her burger, fries, and fries pickles. Tons of options to make your own masterpiece. Great great burgers. Thank you!
Nice quick service and friendly staff. The burger tasted good and I like being able to build my own. They do a fairly good job at doing their burgers with lettuce wraps vice with a bun. My only complaint is that the burger patties do seem small. The toppings are of a good size and amount though and taste great.
We visited this restaurant on a very busy Saturday late afternoon, before a UGA football game. The staff was very attentive, and polite. The hamburgers were cooked, per our specifications. The burgers had a lovely flavor. The french fries were very crispy, and not the least bit greasy. I really liked the Build Your Own Burger options. We will return, without a doubt.
A Step Up From 5 Guys Burgers & Fries! I had the Black Bean Dip appetizer which had a very tasty house made black bean dip served with a small platter of fresh cut carrots, celery, cucumbers and sweet potato chips. It was great and about $5 for a lot of food! Also had the Cowboy burger cooked medium well (yes they asked), an Old Fashioned mix drink and a Root beer. My work mate had an American burger, sweet Vidalia Onion Rings and an ice cold beer! They have a full bar and lots of choices to build your own burger or order one from the menu. It was a nice experience. I’d eat here again.
Always a great place for a burger. Before Burger King had the Impossible Whopper, Grindhouse had the Impossible Burger. A plant-based masterpiece fixed to the diners specifications and worth every penny. If one prefers more conventional fare, the options are just as numerous. I would suggest this place to anyone looking for a great burger restaurant. I will gladly go back again and again.
I had such a pleasant experience at this restaurant! I notified the staff about my severe gluten allergy (celiac) and they were so accommodating! They grilled my burger on a separate surface and even wrapped it in foil to make sure that there was no cross-contamination. Our bartender, upstairs, was super friendly as well. I will definitely be returning to this place!
Heard a lot of good buzz about this place. When I went on a Thursday evening, it was pretty busy. I honestly didnt find the burger I had to be all that exciting... It was tasty but not super tasty. Friendly staff though, so Ill certainly give them another chance, and hopefully the next burger will be better. Good fries though.
Came by to try the burgers after all the hype weve heard. Food was brought out in under 10 minutes and was hot, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Dont get me wrong, the burgers were good but Ive had better from many other places and I certainly expected bigger for the price. Not a bad place at all but kinda pricey compared to portion size.
I placed a to go order at the Athens location and the fries were cold when I got there because the restaurant made no attempt to wrap them up. I asked for fresh fries And the manager told the employee not to give them to me because I was late picking them up. I didn’t prepay for them so I could have not shown up at all. But I did the right thing and came anyways. Since the fries were $2.50 - $3, I expected them to be properly wrapped up to remain warm until I got to where I was going to eat them, regardless of when I arrived to pick them up. I don’t eat a $9 burger and fries in my car. That’s when you go to McD’s. So when I brought this up with the general manager, he said they aren’t concerned with whether to go orders are kept fresh and warm. I mentioned that their competition makes the effort and he said he didn’t care. He also said they will never wrap up all the to go food. I said then I won’t order from there again and he said that was good to know. He asked me if I was offered fresh fries and I said yes but I would have to pay for them. He said he wouldn’t have even done that for me. Next time I’ll go to Wendy’s for a to go burger. They taste better than that overpriced 1/4 lb. cheeseburger and the employees treat you better.
My friend and I ordered two beef burgers, one Apache style and one Cowboy style. I really enjoyed Cowboy style, but unfortunately the Apache one was pretty tasteless. The sweet potato fries were crunchy and good(: I would love to come back and try an impossible burger though! The music and space truly is artful too.
Grindhouse offers a great variety of burger options including, beef, chicken, turkey, veggie and vegan. Their topping options are really extensive so you can get a burger made with anything you want. Plus, they make the absolute best milkshakes ever, they can even make a boozy milkshake in every flavor they offer. They have happy hour specials. So basically, its a great and affordable place to eat and drink.
After paying almost $50 for 3 people to be served cafeteria style, the person who took our order forgot that we had two milkshakes as well, which we received after Id finished my burger. They also charged us for a double when we did not order one. The burgers themselves were good but not particularly memorable and their shape was reminiscent of something I squished together at home. The fries came out of a bag. $3 for 14 crinkle fries out of a bag. Honestly this place is as average as it gets for food. The venue is cool. The staff was friendly but made mistakes and were in no way proactive. I will never actively choose this restaurant again, but would not feel terrible about returning with a group. Honestly I feel like this is a pretty typical Athens experience.
This place really grinded my gears, in a good way! The double burger is a perfect size and the veggie options are plentiful for a decent price. The trivia is awesome, the food is great and the drinks are good. Wildly recommend to anyone that is looking for a fun, delicious place to eat.
The place looks like you will be cool just from being seen there. The atmosphere and vibe is relaxed and fun, the staff friendly, and food served up before you have a chance to say wheres the grub? The food however makes you realize that you arent cool and then you remember Five Guys serves a better burger.
Not a fan of this burger joint. The place is dirty and needs updating. The burger itself was good but over priced. Sides are over priced as well. Do yourself a favor and find a burger else where.Funny story, while I was there, a customer ordered a beer at the register downstairs. It took the cashier and the other guy walking around behind the counter about 5 minutes to find a bottle opener. Luckily an employee walked by with one on their key ring. Kind of sad if you ask me.Pro:Good sweet potato friesCons:Everything elseFood not that greatService not that greatDirty floor and tablesOver priced
Poor To Go Ordering Experience in store and lackluster inventory management. Have been out of hot dogs, or hot dog buns on my last 3 visits. Forgot Fries on two orders and on my last order of 2 burgers, 2 hot dogs and 2 fries forgot a burger and a dog and the fries exactly 50% of the order lol. I am just glad I checked in the parking lot before heading out. If all I ordered were sweet potato fries and dined in I would be 5 stars. I should mention I did receive a burger card because I ended up waiting 30 mins for half my order and then coming back, and getting the other half including cold dry hot dogs. Would recommend eating in if you go here as my dine in experience was better, but they were still out of items.
Been frequenting Grindhouse for quite some time now and have yet to be disappointed. Service is good and consistent. Food is great and Id say Grindhouse has one of the best burgers in Athens and as an avid burger lover it pleases me greatly to have a place like Grindhouse here in Athens and I will be continuing to visit it for some time to come!
Ok, I love this place. The burgers are delicious 9 times out of 10. I love that you can build them however you want. Their mixed drinks are awesome. Bloody Mary anyone? Yes please! The veggie (black bean) patty is super tasty! I like the idea of playing silly B movies all the time, but it seems like lately, they have 1 small TV in the ordering area playing something cool and the rest are all on sports channels. Please play fun movies and leave the sports to the 1000 other bars in town. Pretty please?
Good spot for burgers in Athens. The upstairs area is great for watching the big game and of course you can smoke as well. I like the Grindhouse Lager for its drinkability and price point. All the burgers Ive had here are excellent and the sides are delicious. I personally recommend the Dixie burger!
The burgers are small and even though my husband and I where the only people there service took forever! When our food finally came out mine was burned on the outside and wasnt done on the inside. I told the waiter and showed him he disagreed with me and said it was done! There was pinkish red juices coming from it and you could taste the raw meat!! We went because we had gift cards but wont be going back ever. Even if I was given more gift cards again!
Excellent burgers with interesting flavor combinations. I had the Hillbilly burger, jalapeno, pimiento cheese and chili. Delicious! Downstairs is mixed service, order at the counter then the food is brought to the table. Upstairs is table service. For those who like beer they have an interesting selection.
Simple menu but they do everything perfectly. I love the black bean burger with chipotle mayo. They also have a full bar and great beer selection. The milkshakes are great but I would advise not getting a boozy one if you are a light drinker. They are a little heavy handed on the liquor.
Decent place for burgers. Good milkshakes. Workers are efficient and helpful. Fries are delicious with ketchup. No place to dine outdoors if it rains. Impossible burger is worth trying. Price is $$. Great place to take your parents, friends, or significant other. Cool upstairs bar area that overlooks Lumpkin.
The first we ate there was good, Im vegetarian so I had the impossible burger and it was so good.We went back last night and unfortunately they were out of the impossible burger, so I had to get the veggie burger. This is the second time Ive had their veggie burger. It always falls apart and I couldnt even finish it. My boyfriends burger was raw even though they didnt ask him how he wanted it cooked. We looked at 3 different areas to sit at and all 3 were dirty. The fries were delicious, though.
Basic little burgers, GF bun option, not GF fries, shared use fryers. Impossible burger option not much different than burger King, my expectations were too high to be fair. I ordered the Impossible w/avocado, onions, pickles, lettuce for $10. A couple neo retro movie posters for decor and the sonic youth playing was nice.
Afternoon staff wasnt very eager to help and did not greet. They just stood in a huddle and spoke amongst themselves. I had to ask to place an order. I like the look of the bathroom. Looks like a horror movie theme.Night staff was very friendly. I cant speak to the quality of food because I only picked up food for delivery.Food must be good because each time, there were lots of customers.
One of the best joints in town to grab a juicy burger. You can customize every step from the patty (beef, chicken, or vegan), to the toppings and sauces. It’s a dive-style restaurant, with indoor seating below and a partly outdoor upper floor. Environment is relaxed. I’ve had the veggie burger (the black bean?) which was actually disappointing to me, but also the beef which was near perfect. Definitely worth a try.
Very disappointed this evening with party of 6!! Never waited longer or received such poorly prepared food from this Athens location. Waited about 45 minutes for food and then all 3 fry orders and two onion ring order were cold. Burgers were burned. Were never asked when ordering how we wanted our burgers cooked. Received about half the quantity of chips with blue cheese dip as usual. Poorly run operation this evening 4/16/19. FYI, placed order at 6:37 PM downstairs. BTW, first tried to contact management from website to give them heads up on poorly managed operation but the email link was not working. So sorry to see this restaurant heading downhill!
Incredibly disappointed! I ordered one burger and fries to go and sat directly across from the cashier to wait. And boy did I wait! I waited for over an hour, watching the group that ordered AFTER me get their food, eat, and then leave! I went over to the cashier three times to check on my order and she kept telling me it wasnt ready yet. Then when I asked why it was taking so long, she had the audacity it get mad at me for being impatient. When I FINALLY got my food, the fries were cold and the bun was soggy. I ordered avocado on my burger and there was only one single slice of avocado. I paid $1.50 extra for one measly slice? I dont think so! This is the worst experience Ive had at this restaurant. Rude staff, long wait. The ONLY reason Id ever go back is for the vegan options but Id just have to know to set my expectations VERY low.
Really wanted to grab a burger and drinks here before the game but they wouldnt let us unless we paid $30 for a parking spot for 15 minutes, according to the manager. Manager is clearly not business inclined, they could have obtained our business, waiters received tips, and sold the parking spot 15 min later but instead they turned down our business, and got a negative review. The Atlanta location has great burgers though. We went next door to Cali N Titos, where they were extremely friendly and gladly allowed us to park and eat before the game. Hopefully the manager here will think twice before turning down paying customers next time!
Grindhouse makes it easy for anyone to go out and enjoy a burger and a drink. The various burger styles are fun to try and the broad range of toppings presents endless possibilities. Speaking from personal experience the veggie burgers are fantastic and there is always something good on tap.
Great burger. I had the Yankee burger with no bun. They give you nice lettuce and mixed greens. The Bleu cheese was melted and very tasty. Out a little Sriracha and that was it. Burger tasted good but was a little small. Maybe because I got the junior. They do have a double patty order for each kind of burger you get. But. I feel itll be busy to junior patties put together. Not sure. Still, great place to go.
The food is good; HOWEVER, the staff at the bar upstairs is simply rude! One female employee literally rolled her eyes in front of me when asked if she could charge my card after already waiting a while. I waited about another 10 minutes and she made no effort to charge it (Needless to say, I was seating at the bar in front of the cash register). I was tired of waiting, so I took the check downstairs to pay instead. As I was walking away she literally yelled at me and accused me of not paying. I told her I was going to pay downstairs and she was still trying to pick a fight. I simply walked away and paid downstairs. The whole encounter was so unprofessional on her part!Overall, the food is good BUT the staff upstairs ruined my night!
I have never had a bad experience at the Athens location, and the food is consistently really good. However, tonight (12/27/19) I tried to sit at a wide-open bar and was told by the bartender that a group had been sitting there, but they were out smoking and would be back shortly. I was taken aback, for surely, there was room for little ole’ me. I guess she didn’t want to upset them and potentially affect her tip. Especially since I was alone, and definitely wouldn’t tip like a big group would. Well, Whitley (Whitney?), you just cost Grindhouse a customer, because I left and went down the street to a superior competitor. So, the low score tonight is for the bartender. If I hadn’t been starving, I might not have been so offended, but I was really craving the black bean burger, but refused to stay after the poor service.
LOTS of burger joints out there...this one may be the best! The service was excellent and food came quick even though they were fairly busy. They had several pre-built choices and you can construct your own as well. I had the one with blue cheese and cooked medium and wow! Right on target even down to the bun. Yeah, the bun was awesome. Fries? You bet. Hot and fresh with just the right amount of salt.. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the single burger was not quite as much food as I expected. But the taste... Mmmmm! Ok I’m ready to go back and get a double.
We had the grind house burger, veggie burger, fries, and a peach milkshake. The burgers are small. Fries are crinkly which arent my favorite. These were acceptable tho. The service was painfully slow even though it wasnt busy. The milkshake was one of the worst Ive ever had. Way to sweet and the consistency was not right. It tasted more like a peach dreamsicle instead of a milkshake.
Good food. I got two Impossible Burgers with two patties each. They were delicious but expensive. Each patty is $2.50 extra. What?! So for the four patties I got, I was charged an additional $10. Not cool. BurgerFi doesnt charge any extra for the Beyond Burger, which is just as tasty. Not sure if Id go back for the Impossible Burger. There are plenty of other options out there.
Decent enough burgers, but a bit overpriced. I had a burger with grilled onions, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese, but the patty itself was lacking in flavor. I also ordered a double on which there was a pitiful amount of shredded lettuce and onion. The place was clean and makes for a great place to either sit alone or as a large group.
The burger was good but thats about it. Sat up at the bar area and never got service. Moved downstairs to order at the counter and service was better. The drink machine was out of service due to a CO2 issue. The fries were ice cold. The cole slaw was brown and inedible. I wont be returning and cant imagine this place will make it much longer.
Unfortunately, I cant come up with any positives about my visit. The service was rude. My medium burger was more than well done and my daughters kids burger was literally as thick as a shingle and about 2 diameter. The sad part was we brought it to their attention and the one they brought back was cooked even more. It was so dry it broke apart when I touched it. I hate to leave bad reviews, but something needs to be done to fix the attitude problems and overcooked food here.
Not only do I continue to come back for their food, but their Wednesday trivia is the best in town! Their trivia host Garret has the best voice on a microphone, and the questions are so fun for the team to answer! I wouldn’t think twice about coming here. Their trivia nights are busy, but what else would you expect with an amazing game!? Worth every penny, and every second of wait time.
First time here and we arrived around 4p which was a slow time. We were told we could sit downstairs and order at the bar and self serve our go upstairs with a server. We went upstairs and found it to be a smoking section too. Seemed stage to have the only selling area also the only smoking area. We stayed and ordered and I have to say the burger, fries and shake were fantastic. I look forward to reading here again but this time will just go to the self serve downstairs to stay away from the smoke. Would have been 5 starts if we would have been told about the smoking.
I always loved to this place. Me and my girlfriend would go there often to enjoy the bar upstairs and the burgers. The last time we went we brought our child and we were turned away from an empty room with no other customers in it because we had a baby with us. Though I love this place I wont be returning.
Awsome burgers. Little pricey if you get a double and a side. All burgers are cooked to order. You choose your toppings and sides and they bring it to your table. I reccomend the grindhouse sauce which is like a thousand island type sauce. Full bar upstairs. And i think o saw boozy milkshakes if thats how you roll.
Here on new years eve for about the 10th visit this year, I normally enjoy the food. However, today the service is poor enough to get an online rating. The food looks great and is delicious as always but the service and apathy are truly ruining this restaurant for me. I recommend going to groove burgers over this place, comparable menu and great burgers but a much better serving environment.
We sat upstairs which is also outside so I could bring my puppy. I had a veggie burger and my mom had an impossible burger which is vegan and very delicious just like meat. First burger Ive had in a while so it was a good experience. Everyone was super nice to us and my puppy.
Received the best experience here last night that anyone could ask for. We ended up ordering food through a 3rd party and it got delivered incorrectly, It was not Grindhouse a fault at all. But we drove up there to let them know of the other companies mistake, and without hesitation was willing to remake the whole order, even though Grindhouse was not responsible for this. I think the managers name was Kendra proceeded to keep in conversation with us while we enjoyed a beer and waiting for our fresh order. She kindly invited us to trivia night outside upstairs. What turned from a frustrating situation into a better night was the management here at Grindhouse. We ordered It to go and decided to change It to staying and playing trivia. This is a 100% recommended place to eat at if you love great food and amazing staff! Thanks Grindhouse
This review is for the ordering process. The on-line/to-go process is not easy. The on-line platform is not functional in several ways; specifically with regards to finding specific items on the menu, adding extras to, and general navigation and payment. Tonight the app decided to just not wirk.
2nd time eating at Grindhouse. The burger I had was undercooked, tasted cold honestly. Fries were ok, fried green tomatoes were better. Honestly, I expected more from a place that had been recommended by several people. I only eat beef once every 3 months & I had to waste it on this. Shouldve gotten a steak elsewhere.
Their veggie burger is so good I dont order the meat one. My friend had the Impossible burger and said it was over cooked. I brought my client here who has a special diet and an intellegectual difference and the staff treated us very well. I love this place and will be returning for my next burger.
We stopped by on our way through town to grab som lunch after hearing about it from several different media. My wife and i both had turkey burgers and they were delicious!! We also got the sweet potatoe fries, and they had to be some of the best sweet potatoe fries either of us has ever had! My one thing about the meal was that a lettuce wrap was more of a salad than a wrap. It had some nice lettuce at the bottome of a bowl wirh everything piled on top. It was still really tasty, I just felt misinformed by it.
Very greasy and bland burger, prices are for a top notch burger place but burger I had had little to no flavor, I had the Euro burger without lettuce or mayo, even the mushrooms were bland. Not sure if the fries are frozen or not but they did seem to be and not fresh cut. Just not impressed.
I have given this place several chances but this is it. I got the cheese Poofs, they tasted horrible and the dipping sauce was either sour or properly mixed...or just damn bad. The burger is the best thing they offer, but I found mine to be slapped together, lacking proper preparation. This yet ANOTHER Athens restaurant that rides high on its location and outdoor roof top seating. For a standalone building and such an investment, from a restaurant perspective, your food needs to improve.
This is our second bad experience at Grindhouse -- a shame because, though I really want to support a neighborhood business, I doubt we will come back. The concept is good (restaurant below, bar above), the design is cool but the execution is abysmal. Our burgers were mediocre at best, my fries were stone cold, my husbands onion wings were definitely not fresh. Heavy metal was blaring so loud that my toddler (who likes to rock) started crying. It was 6pm and the there were 4 other tables, all of which were families. I asked them to turn the music down and got a chilly response. We all wanted to flee two bites into our meal. Sadly, this experience mirrors our last visit in April.
Gave this place another try after being underwhelmed the first time . Ordered 2 burgers Frings and a kids meal. Rude customer service at the start.Buns were cold , burgers meat almost undetectable , sautéed mushrooms there were 3 . Kids meal was inedible , small chunk of burned meat with a 1/2 piece of cheese. Went up to ask if they could do one not burned to charcoal and came back with one that was worse . Will NEVER go back and will let everyone know this place isn’t worth the drive or $ .Go to McDonalds at least your child won’t be served charcoal .wish I could post the photo of the pathetic burger
I usually go for the trivia nights on Monday, and the burgers are half off. The burgers are always good and so is the beer. It is, however, a little over priced at its normal prices. However, trivia, beer, and half off burgers makes it an easy choice for a Monday night meal. The biggest problem is that parking can be a hassle.
Grind house Killer Burgers is HANDS Down my favorite Burger Stop. I have visited and reviewed the Atlanta location. The Athens location has all of the same features( the food is AMAZING) but ALSO has a rooftop deck with a bar. with both indoor and outdoor seating options.. i didnt think it would be possible to improve on the Atlanta location but the roof deck certainly knocks it out of the park!
Well tonight was interesting. The food is always good and was good tonight. The service tonight however was something extra special. After we received our food I noticed on my wifes burger some spots on her bun that looked like it could be mold. We werent sure so showed to the runner that brought the food for some other people we were eating with. He looked at said he couldnt tell but it was probably something from the glove. I assume the glove is what was being worn by those that prepare the food. He seemed content leaving the burger as is. I told him we wanted another one. He responded as though he was agitated in having to replace the bun but took the food. When he returned he dropped the plate on the table, said nothing, and left. My wife at this point was afraid to eat the food not knowing what may have done to it after the attitude and simply gave it back it. Nothing more was said. As we were leaving he was outside smoking in the back and my son overheard him complaining about dealing with us. I wont bore you with the details but we did confront him for how he acted. He threatened to call the police. He told us he was busy so I guess too busy to deal with the issue. The reality is we werent mad and all we wanted was a new bun. Regardless of what the spots may have been we just wanted new bun. He was a jerk and one that I would fire on the spot if he worked In my business.
I went here with my family when they visited Athens and it was over all an under whelming experience. The service was slow and they had an employee serving tables that was on crutches. Not a great image for the restaurant. The food clearly had been sitting out a while before it was brought to our table because it wasn’t very warm. There was no soap in the bathroom either and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned recently at all.
My husband and I always meet family here for trivia night (I would not reccomend bringing children to, some would think the guy that runs it says inappropriate things for anyone under 18) but the trivia is great if you do not have kids or want to come without your kids. The service is good for such a large crowd.
Grindhouse is one of those Must Visit Athens local restaurants that, for whatever reason, isnt in downtown. Its horror themed (hence, Grindhouse) and theyve usually got some kind of niche or cult movie showing on the projector inside. Upstairs is a cool rooftop bar.The burgers, are, well... KILLER {as advertised}. Theyre all made to order, and its a pick-your-poison (and toppings) style, order up front, then seat yourself kind of place. The food has always been amazing, and the grindhouse sauce is so good, I could probably drink it. Definitely ask for extra, for the fries!
Yeah that was awful from start to finish, wasn’t busy and waited forever for them to acknowledge us. Took over 20 minutes to get my food and when i did finally get it they gave me meat instead of a veggie burger and made me wait another 15 while they fixed it. Oh this whole time we were waiting for ranch that we asked 2 different people for. Yeah not worth it

2021-08-05Not a fan of the fried pickle style here but could see some liking the thick style cut. The ranch dressing is delicious and I’m a huge fan of the burgers and fries here. The burgers are always cooked to perfection instead of being over cooked and dry and they never forget the double cheese that I order. Love this place.

2022-01-14Rainy dinner at Grindhouse. The burgers we had were average, nothing great to mention. The fries are crinkle cut w/ no seasoning. A little breezy upstairs under covered patio.

2021-07-18First time dining and it did not disappoint. The burger was flavorful and the fries perfectly salted. Loved how quick our food came out and it didn’t break the bank.Service was a little confusing and the one cashier seemed to get backed up quickly. Will definitely be back again.

2021-07-31I would give Grindhouse 10 stars if I could. Hands down the best tasting burger and fries and onion rings Ive had anywhere, period. Service is always great. Go to Grindhouse! Bored? Go to Grindhouse! Just blew your big interview? Go to Grindhouse! Bad service at Grindhouse? Go to a different Grindhouse! Just had a new baby? Take him to Grindhouse! In laws visiting? Take them to Grindhouse! 3 hour layover at the airport? Go to Grindhouse in the airport!Im pretty sure Grindhouse is the answer to all of lifes problems as well as celebrating all of lifes achievements. If you want a really good burger and fries, GO TO GRINDHOUSE!!

2022-04-04This place continues to have amazing food and excellent service. Im usually upstairs (21+) a few days a week and theyve never disappoint. Multiple TVs showing various sports and news, great burgers and drinks. Im a meat-atarian, but I even enjoy their veggie patty!

2021-01-22I thought the burger was good and the fries where cooked good with a light seasoned salt flavor. The bun is a sweet bun, which I like. I also liked the style of the patty. Its the thick kind with a nice sear on the outside. The problem was the size. It was either one or two 1/4 pound patties. I think a 1/3 pound patty would be best. The 1/2 pound is just a little too much and with the 1/4 pound patty they have to make it with a small circumference to get the thickness, hence the smaller bun. All in all the flavors were great and I’ll eat here again for sure.

2022-05-18Cobb salad was huge and perfect. No cash accepted so be prepared for that. Lady taking our order was matter of fact and efficient. Not exactly friendly, but not unfriendly either. 🤔 Will eat here again for sure.

2022-05-24Burgers were tasty but small. Like a junior cheeseburger from Wendys. Order a double if you want to be full. Onion rings were barely breaded and extra crisp.
