.After retrieving my biology degree at Georgia Southern University, I made the decision that I wanted to work in a more hands on environment and gain more clinical experience .I then applied to Gwinnett Technical College in Sandy Springs in 2016 to gain my medical assistant degree and certification . After I finished their one year program and got certified through NCCT , so many wonderful opportunities were presented to me.I now have the job of my dreams . I am currently at medical assistant with one of the biggest hospital corporations in Atlanta ! I plan to go back to medical school and further my career . This was a perfect move for me and my career !Thanks to God, Gwinnett College, and NCCT for making my dreams come true.
I have just completed Gwinnett Colleges Massage Therapy Program. I am an RN with a BSN and a Masters in Organizational Management. I was looking for a career change and feel like I have found what I was looking for. While I was a little skeptical about what a 9-month program could provide for me, I was pleasantly surprised. You will receive in-depth instruction in Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, and of course Massage Therapy and Techniques. This is one of few schools in the country who offer a certification in Neuromuscular Therapy, which is more medical-based massage, and what I wanted to be able to offer my clients. You will also take courses in Business Management and will work at an onsite clinic. The instructors are experts in their fields and always available for questions and advice. The administration and staff are wonderful and there is always someone available to guide you through. They offer Tuition Assistance. One thing I will say is this: This school is not for you if you are not prepared to do the work to have a rewarding career. The certifications offered here are not gimmes. Some students start and do not finish because they cant, or wont, do the work. This is a college, not a high school. Come prepared to take courses, do homework and practicals, and have a wonderful career when you leave! They even have a job-placement counselor! You will have fun, and meet new friends who will become life-long colleagues.I am thankful and grateful for the staff and instructors at Gwinnett College in Sandy Spring. I have a new outlook on life and a new career to go with it! I am opening my own Massage/Neuromuscular Therapy Clinic!Go for it!!!
I would like to Thank all of the Instructors, Staff, and my fellow students for all of the support and encouragement that they showed me (and all the students that are in school at GCSS).This is one of the highest rated schools for massage in this area and is the only school in the Southeast that trains you in Neuromuscular Therapy! When you finish the massage therapy program you are more than ready to take the State MBLEX Test to receive your Georgia State Massage License.Other programs are offered and are highly rated also so go check them out today! They also have Associate Programs.Thank You for everything Gwinnette College Sandy Springs,Dawn Phillips, LMT
My girlfriend and myself visited this school to receive a massage at a fair price. Appointment was at 12p. Upon entry there were several massage students and their supervisor. By 12:04p my girlfriend was taken into a room. I sat there thinking they would take me next as quickly as they took her to a room. The suervisor left the office to help a student bring in her massage table, which was located in her vehicle. Meanwhile, i sat there for 20 minutes waiting for 1 if the many girls that were there to place me in a room. The supervisor came back into the office at 12:24p looked at me puzzled and went to seek out her students. Prior to the supervisor returning i had begun to feel uncomfortable sitting there waiting after having seen them quickly service my gf and treat her so kindly. I am a heavier woman, and not feminine in appearance. They were not as friendly and efficient with me like they had been with my feminine appearing gf. As i sat alone in their lobby while my presumed massage student and another student sat in a room, the supervisor outside, i began to feel like maybe they werent comfortable with me- ky weight and appearance, the delay then lending me to feel discriminated against for my weight and lack of feminine appearance. I feel as though if i had been a male and more feminine and even not so heavy in weight, that their reaction to me would have rendered me in that empty room as quickly as my gf instead ofnhaving to wait almost 30 minutes later until their supervisor showed up to find out why i was still sitting there in the lobby. Im used to being discriminated against, i guess i was just hoping for a better outcome with this place being a school and all. I decided to leave and forgo the massage. I didnt feel comfortable or welcomed and i didnt want the massage to be bad because of their sentiment toward me. Flip side, my gf enjoyed it. Her service was great........for what thats worth.
I went to this school for Massage Therapy. This is definitely a small school, so if you are serious about learning, you have the access to your teachers.Sam is extremely knowlegeable, and passionate about anatomy and Massage,-- Being a smaller man, like me, his teaching style shows you how to Massage without injuring yourself, and apply maximum pressure. I have recieved countless compliments from clients and other Therapists on my incredible deep yet gentle pressure--My techniques stemmed directly the instruction I recieved in class from Sam.Scott Cruz is also a wealth of knowleage, not just about anatomy and physiology, but about passing the massage board, and establishing your business creatively in the industry. An extremely personable and funny gentleman, his long lectures are very easy to sit through and learn from. He makes complex medical processes fun to learn about. You will do well to have a tape recorder on hand because alot of information is given to you in lectures.--------------------- -------------------- --------------------- -------------------- --------------------- --------------------The student clinic was a great learning experience-- I saw many students have a hard time getting the required clinical hours, and if you have children, a tough work schedule, you might have a hard time with the school program hours overall. However, for me, it wasnt bad, and the clinic really gave me an opportunity to sharpen many customer service skills and test the techniques I learned in class.--------------------- -------------------- --------------------- -------------------- --------------------- --------------------The Administration side of the school frustated some students at times but overall I had a good experience. I would say that the school is very Pricey, but I think thats due to inflation--you will pay about the same everywhere. My teachers made the experience worthwhile, And ive quickly gotten job after job, and now am working in a luxory Spa, as well as operating my own Spa business.--------------------- -------------------- --------------------- -------------------- --------------------- --------------------Overall this school is Dope, But if youre a crappy student, and your not passionate about learning and healing, you wont get much out of it, but big loans to repay. A few of my former classmates dropped out mid program.Neither this School nor this Career is for the Unambitious or Uncreative. If you are the type to wait for a job to find you, you might be dissapointed. However, if youre the type that is a creative hustla, you might make alot of $$ and help alot of people
The sandy springs location is not that nice or clean. I was just there over the weekend and the staff was not friendly nor welcoming when i first walked in. The student I had was talking the entire time so it wasn’t as relaxing as I would’ve liked. I also specified that I wanted more work done on my back and she barely worked on it. I would give it another try but definitely with a different student, but wouldn’t get my hopes up.

2022-08-23Very professional in all they do. My massage therapist is very on point with the areas of my muscle aches and knows how to work them out. She takes the time to explain each muscle and how they interact with the movements in accordance to what I do each day and how Im possibly stressing them. I have become a regular customer because of it. This college is obviously teaching these students well.

2022-01-27I am a current student here and I am just about finished with my 9 months. I have to say it has been the worst, stressful 9 months that I have ever had. I love most of the staff, Ty makes you feel like hes on your side.. but the curriculum is all over the place. We have HW on one thing and they test us on another. Its a rush, just a huge rush. Or a race to see how well you can cram a bunch of info at once to be tested on it one week later. God forbid you get sick, or a death in the family. If youre late too many times, youre out. You get graded on participating like in grade school. I honestly just did not love this experience. I dont know anything about running a school but I will never ever do this again. Its way too much unorganized work in such a short time. Google was my friend most of the time. Even teachers cant keep up, I just cant wait to be done. Its made me shed some stressful tears.

2021-05-21I graduated from the massage therapy program in 2019. I truly value the instructors at this school! They often went above and beyond the curriculum. I felt prepared and ready for my exam. It’s a lot to learn in a short amount of time, and sometimes the classes feel really long, but the instructors are passionate and care about what they teach. If you put in the work and effort, it certainly pays off. I’m now a successful LMT who has a strong repeat clientele that truly appreciates my style of massage, thanks to what and how I was taught at Gwinnett College. I am truly grateful I chose this school.

2015-10-19Just thinking about this school makes my heart want to bust. I had the most amazing experience. I had no idea will going through school but the knowledge obtain at Gwinnett College is above all else. The teachers I encountered not only knew their subjects in depth but I was pushed to do better the entire way. Learning NMT I know have knowledge that therapist 10 years in their career never got. I was able to obtain a job at a luxury spa in downtown Atlanta with PTO and benefits only 6 months out of school. When I went in for my practical interview I was told that my knowledge and my touch was very mature. The administration is also the best, anything I have ever needed (even years after graduation) they are always there for me. A BIG THANK YOU to you guys and keep up the good work. The world of massage continues to be better because of Gwinnett!!!!

2021-04-18I would not recommend this school to anyone. I went to take a tour at the Sandy springs campus and the staff was very unprofessional and not helpful. They was pressuring me to enroll in the school without answering all my questions. I did noticed that the school does not follow the social distancing guidelines that was set in place by the CDC. I did observe that the school seemed segregated and all the students are African American and the whole stuff was caucasian. I felt very uncomfortable about the interaction from all the staff.

2013-09-19I recently graduated from Gwinnett College Sandy Springs in March. I attended the full time day program which is 9 months long. I chose Gwinnett College Sandy Springs because I was interested in the Neuromuscular Therapy Program. Carl and Sam were excellent instructors, Actually, all the instructors I was fortunate to cross paths with (Jason, Sherman, Karen & Crewes) were all incredibly knowledgeable and talented in their methods of teaching and the support they gave to you in their class. The classes are small enough where you can get the individual attenetion needed to be a successful therapist. The entire staff is supportive and have an open door policy. Ive been to college a few times before, and here, from the President, all the way to down to Executive Assistant knows who you are.My fondest memory, was when I first came by to fill out paperwork to enroll myself into school, the President, Mr. Davis was there. He greeted my husband and I with a handshake and a warm smile. He spent over an hour with us, just talking about all the things GA has to offer our family and things we could do with our kids since we were new to the State. It was quite impressive and has left a lasting impression with both my husband and myself.Thank you for giving me the tools I needed to succeed and a great education with some outstanding educators!

2015-10-07I took the Neuromuscular Therapy program at Gwinnett College to obtain my National Certification in Massage Therapy. The part that really stood out is Mr. Travis Eacona, in the Career Recruitment Department. He is very skilled at resume design, and devoted to career placement to keep you successful when you graduate! I give him a full five stars!!They offer two different campuses, so you can take your favorite teachers. I was especially inspired by Professors Crewes, Professor Craig Knowles and Dr. Amy Forth. They are very talented people. :-) For the 9 month day or one 1 year night program, it has its challenges, but is well worth the journey!
