Would not recommend to anyone they care only about getting your money not about fixing your mechanical issues. Even when we called back to say they made the problem worse they refused to own up to any mistakes and they charged more then they said in the beginning. Then wanted more money to fix what they messed up. COMPLETE SCAM SHOP!!!!!!
Awesome! We were heading down the highway when our trailer tire began to delaminate. We pulled off the highway, and into their shop to find that they could change the tire for us right then and there! Greased the tires, checked the PSI. Even had replacement windshield wipers! We were right on our way! Great job guys!

My truck got a flat literally at their driveway and they wouldn’t replace my tire. They didn’t offer to let me sit in their waiting room or even tell me someone else in the area to call. This isn’t how we are supposed to treat each other.
Ive always had good luck here. The prices are fair, and they do a thorough job. Bought new tires today and was in and out way sooner than expected.
I had an oil change at this place. They damaged my car . They paid the repairs caused by the poor job they did. They refused to refund the oil change I paid for and all other expenses I had until my car was fixed. I
I would give them 10 stars if I could! H & L Tire and Auto Repair performed better than I ever could have hoped. Wed been putting off a repair for a long time due to the previous estimates being so expensive. Finally, we couldnt put it off any longer and I brought it to H & L on a recommendation from a friend. I was so pleased when their estimate came back significantly lower for the same repair. It was so much lower I was able to ask them to tend to some other minor repairs that had also been pushed off. Each time they called to tell me it was ready, I had another repair I asked them to look at, and each time they were able to diagnose the problem, order the part and repair it by the end of business. They were fast, did excellent work at a fantastic value and were always so courteous and kind. They were truly the best experience Ive ever had at any mechanic shop!! As a military spouse trying to balance it all while my husband is deployed, I feel so relieved knowing that our family car is in tip top shape!! Thank you Mike and everyone at H & L for for being a super bright spot during a challenging time.
We had an issue while traveling nearby on I-95 south. Our vehicle needed to be towed there after we looked them up and seen the previous reviews. The H&L team lead by Steve the service advisor was great! They really helped us out and treated us very nice knowing our situation. The prices were most fare and the service quality and speed was fantastic. They really help us out in our jam when we feared the worst. They went out of their way to get a part needed that was a distance away to help us get back on our trip ASAP. I am one satisfied customer. I wish we were located closer to them so we could use their services more frequently. Considering traveling the longer distance when I can to use them more. Thank you H&L Team! You really bailed us out!
They were an absolute life saver for the kiddos and me. 3 hrs from home and needed a tire. They even stayed open past closing to get my tire mounted. Extremely grateful!! 5 stars for sure!!

Very helpful folks. Had to stop from traveling for tire repair. Matthew ( or Marcus, cant remember) was very thorough in taking care of us and very detailed explanation of how he took care of the repair. He really has a passion for his work. Thank yall for getting us out so quickly.
Service was efficient. Communication was respectful. I am rating my experience low due to what was charged. Typically I get my vehicle serviced and all diagnostics costs are charged only if what needs to be repaired is not approved for repair. In addition I was not informed of the diagnostics charge at any point. If I had known that either way I would have been charged $110 for diagnostics, I would have ran the diagnostics for free at an auto retailer and then informed the coordinator to repair what was needed. I was disappointed, because I decided to go to H&L rather than my normal Honda service center. This facility was highly recommended to me.
My car broke down on a drive from FL to SC and I found them online. I left my vehicle overnight and returned in the morning. They found the issue and found the best value in replacement parts nearby. I am happy to recommend them to fellow travelers.
My wife and I have been using H&L Services since it opened for business. We have 2 cars and a van. They are very nice and always do an excellent job, on time and they stand behind their work.
Traveling and had a flat tire on the inside rim on my F350. Outside tire had a screw that was not leaking air. After a short wait and and even shorter inspection in parking lot I was told I need a new tire and the one I hade was not repairable. Had an employee at the warehouse ready to grab a new one for me. They obviously looked at the outer tire and did not try to air up the inner to verify where leak was coming from as there was no screw visible. Two stars was for not wasting a lot of my time.
First time here was highly recommended by friends from Richmond Hill, came from Savannah. Went in today for a tire rotation and oil change. Very familiar with auto shops because my family owns one in another state. I asked the service writer to speak to my mechanic that was going to be working on my truck and it was no problem he came right in the waiting room. Waiting room was nice and clean. The owner was there, not sure of his name but he was very detailed and stayed on top of everything. They did not try to recommend anything I did not need and properly recommended I change my air filter because it was pretty dirty. On top of the good mechanical and customer service work, the staff also cleaned and disinfected the waiting room while I was there due to Covid-19. Impressed and would not hesitate to bring them your vehicle.
I want to give a shout out the folks at H&L. I was on my way from FL to NC and had a flat tire in Richmond Hill. THese guys were able to work me in to patch my tire and get me back on the road. They were able to do this in spite of the fact that their service bays were full and cars waiting to be serviced. THes guys must be doing soming right because they have a lot of loyal customers. If you need your car serviced or new tires this is an honest and quality shop.
We were traveling from Florida to Delaware and ran into some car trouble. We called Earls Restoration and after explaining the issue, he directed us over to H&L and to our delight, they were able to fix us right up after having to troubleshoot why we were having issues in the first place. 2 hours later and they got us on the road towards home!! I would absolutely recommend H & L Tire. The shop is full of good, honest, hardworking folk who will get the job done right. Theyre friendly and helpful, and wont hesitate to explain what theyre doing and why it needs to be done. I have nothing but good things to say about H&L; best darn auto shop Ive been to!

It is fantastic to be able to trust an automobile service shop like Mike and the guys at H&L!! The service is genuine and experienced. The really care about their clients. I have 3 kids driving and Mike has taken care of, insured the safety of, and treated their cars all like they were his own kids cars!! Today they did it again. I love these guys and the work they do.
I and my family were travelling from Miami to Charlotte when we had a tire that was about to rip off on I95. I went to H & L Tire. It was already 6 pm and they were about to close. they accepted anyway to take a look at my tire and replace it. The owner was so nice and his whole team. This is the best experience that I ever had dealing with a repair shop. Thank You so much for what you did for me and my family.

Quoted me 3 different prices for the same job, didn’t respond for a week and a half after the initial diagnosis. Finally got my car in, they were wrong on the initial diagnosis, as well as tried to charge me $500 extra to change rear brakes and rotors which they failed to diagnose when I was originally in the shop. Got the same job they were trying to do at Rogers Auto Care for $226 in Hinesville. Would never recommend, too time consuming, too aggravating, too expensive
I walked in not knowing anything about the place. I needed some tires and alignment on my wifes GMC ACADIA and the guy behind the counter showed me a few different brands with out the door prices. He was nice and the place was nice so I bought the tires. They told me to come back in an hour and they would have the tires at the store and ready to install. I came back and they had the tires and they began working on my vehicle. Took about an hour but the waiting area was comfortable and the guy has a dog that hangs around and keeps you company. They did a good job and the vehicle runs smooth. I got two other vehicles to buy tires for so I will be a returning customer. They were honest and straightforward.
After my wife called me in hysterics that our pickup was broken down. I began to call around to shops close to her. Everywhere I called could not help or would not help. This shop not only helped us by getting her in for immediate repairs, they even gave her a ride to and from the hotel she stayed at during the repairs. The truck needed a Heli-coil repair for a blown out spark plug and new coil pack. This job was quoted at over $800.00 at several shops... H&L did the job for UNDER $400.00 out the door! The gentleman that I dealt with via phone was very understanding that my wife was traveling alone with our cat while I was hundreds of miles away at a training seminar. He was very compassionate towards her and very patient with my very scared wife. They called me for every decision and were very easy to communicate with.If you are ever on the area and need work done... These ARE the people to do it!!!Thank you!!!
THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME!!My husband and I were traveling from Florida to North Carolina and all of a sudden our tire pressure started dropping in one tire. We pulled off the interstate to fill it but realized that wasn’t going to do it. There was a large nail in the tire. A google search showed that we were really close to H&L. We got there and they looked pretty busy, but after explaining our situation they quickly pulled our car in. They removed the screw and fixed the tire and we were back on the road in less than 30 minutes. Total life savers!!!
Very disrespectful!! If you woke up in the morning wanting to get talked down like as if you’re a child, this is the right place to go to. You’ll get talked to worst than a dog on a random street. You can go there for a certain concern on your vehicle and it will not get solved because “you did not say that on the phone” ... mind you they have a bunch of customers coming there for different reasons ... for example ... you can can drop your car off to get your tires checked or replaced but come back and they did not look at the tires but tell you they replaced your air conditioning because “that’s what you said on the phone”. Your mind wasn’t even on the air conditioning. They’re a we’re right your wrong business. You get attitude including with the payment and taxes you didn’t ask for.
I cannot say enough good things about this repair center. The staff is very professional, helpful and fast. I came in without an appointment to get my tire repaired while they had a full house. They took my car within 20 minutes, filled the whole and I was on my way in less than an hour. I cannot say that will always be the case, but with minor repairs they always do their best to get them taken care of as quickly as possible! I will be referring them to everyone we know, and with us being military we know A LOT of people! :) Hope youre ready for the extra business! Thanks again!
Great service, great staff!! I took my car here for a second opinion and I am SO glad I did. They got my car in right away and fixed my issue in less than 30 minutes... and saved me A LOT of money, compared to other quotes I had been given. They werent pushy, didnt try to sell me (unnecessary) parts, a quality that can be hard to find these days. I will definitely be using H&L for our cars in the future!! Thank you!
We were traveling from south Florida back home to Virginia from vacation when we got a flat tire on the side of the highway. Every place near us was too busy to get our car fixed today so we tried H&L. They took us right away and when our tire was beyond repair they took the time to find us a used one and had us back on the road within the hour. They were close to closing for the day and could have turned us away but they took the time to give us excellent customer service instead. The entire staff was friendly and professional and more worried about helping us get back on the road any way they could. I would highly recommend this shop for automobile needs! Best customer service I have experienced in a long time! I noticed there was a screw in my tire yesterday evening around 5:30. I called their shop right away and asked if they could fix it if I got there before they closed. No problem, we will be waiting for you. I arrived at the shop at 5:45, 15 minutes before closing. The two guys at the front desk were very friendly and assisted me quickly. It turned out my tire needed to be replaced. Went back this morning to have the new tire put on, again fast, friendly service. I dont remember the name of the guy helping me this morning but I wanted to say THANK YOU again, you were awesome and have gained a forever customer!
I’ve had the misfortunate privilege of using H&L twice now for unexpected incidents. Both times they went above and beyond what’s come to be expected as the norm these days. They’re kind, honest, and caring when it comes to their customers and the service they provide. They communicate consistently, letting you know of any issues that have or might come up. Their pricing is fair and their turnaround time is very quick. H&L makes you feel like a friend and they will always have my business from this day forward!
I had originally taken my van to another local shop they quoted me 3k to replace the struts. I went to H&L for a second opinion, they completed the job and charged a fair market value price. Long story short save your self the hassle and start your search at H&L, I will be taking my vehicles to them from here on out.Thank You H&L for saving me thousands and outstanding service
H&L is the only place we will ever take our vehicles. As a military family, we dont have the luxury of having our dads around to help or knowing who to trust in a new town. H&L has become like family. They are honest, trustworthy and have excellent customer service. They have always stopped whatever they were doing to get us in and out and on our way in an emergency. They have always been patient with me when I come in with a problem and my husband is gone. I have never felt like they have or would ever take advantage of me in fact, they have gone above and beyond to help and make sure I understand. Their prices have always been fair and much less than everyone else. I HIGHLY recommend them over everyone else and wouldnt recommend anywhere else.
Highly, highly recommended. I learned of H&L through the Richmond Hill Cars & Coffee event. I wish Id found this place when I first moved to the area! Ive only been to H&L a couple times but am really impressed by their business practices and integrity. On my first visit I was having electrical problems and left my car as a key drop to be checked out. They didnt find anything wrong so didnt charge me. I brought my other car in to have tires installed and an alignment done and when they checked the alignment it was accurate, so they didnt charge me. They also did a coolant system pressure test at my request and didnt charge me for that either. So how do they make their money?? Repeat customers, for sure!
Beyond thankful for the guys at this shop! I was on my way to the airport when my car started acting funny and my check engine light started blinking! I pulled off the highway at the right time to the right exit! It was a Thursday leading into the holiday weekend and they were slammed! But they managed to sneak my car in and figure out what was wrong with it in less than ten minutes! They then sent a guy to go get the part and they got it fixed right away!! I seriously couldn’t appreciate them more for everything they did! My husband was currently out of the country and we’re military with no family around. I was so thankful for their kindness and hospitality! They also have a shop dog which my son LOVED!
I had heard great things about the shop from the locals and being new to the area I decided to try them out for an oil change. They were very professional and it was so easy to set up the appointment and I was right in and right out, which is great with my having to bring my toddler. They didnt try to hassel my into unnecessary repairs which is something I always dread being a woman. We will 100% be back for every oil change from here on out and for any repair we may need. The guys were so friendly, patient and answered all my questions with ease!

Awesome service, awesome people and place. We were on our way from North Carolina back to Florida and our we found a flat tire😫it was about 11 pm and we tried to find anyone to help us and all attempts were in vain. In the morning, we found this awesome service and after we spent a night at the gas station these guys’ attitude to us was a bless of God! They found a tire for us and did all their job perfectly! To find a tire was one more problem for us as our tire is 21” and it is rare so no one keeps it in the stores. Thank you so much again! Mr. Mike and Julius are lifesavers. On Friday, January 10th I was traveling to Charlotte NC from Florida and got a flat tire. I was super stressed out as I had to work the following day so I drove from gas station to gas station trying to figure out what was happening with my tire. I got to the final gas station that had no air pump and just happened to look up to see H&L. At this point, I was super stressed as it was 6:10 pm and all shops online said closed. As I looked up I saw a man standing outside so I ran up to him and begged for help. Luckily Mike was still inside the shop and the nice man told me to go in and speak with him. So I explained to Mike what was going on and they gladly agreed to help me check out the tire. All the guys stayed to make sure that I was ok and felt comfortable. The very talented Julius fixed my tire and they gave me an excellent price that didnt break the bank. These guys are lifesavers and you can trust them with all of your mechanic needs.
Too expensive. 4 brake pads changed were $600. $200 for parts was acceptable but $400 for an hour an a half work is robbery.Only the pads were changed and it was that expensive.
On our way down to Florida all the way from New Jersey our family experienced a flat and the nearest shop was h&l. We were preparing to be charged a mighty fee but when we went in and spoke to the man behind the counter to see how much it would cost for a tire change he said he wouldnt charge us. Walt changed it in under 10 minutes and had us on our way in no time. I highly recommend this shop. Very nice people who blessed us in ten folds. Thank you very much!!
Leaving one star because they lacked customer service. I always call before I go somewhere because I don’t like wasting mine or the merchants time. I asked if they could fit me in for an oil change today. They responded with a “yea it will be a few hours”. I brought my car in they smirked and said I hope your trying to leave it over night we close at six (it was 4:35) Of course I wasn’t trying to leave it over night that’s why I called. Should have been straight up on the phone would have saved me the pain. I called Savannah tire and they were able to squeeze me in same day even threw in a couple of freebees.
The staff were very courteous and helpful and making your stay comfortable while doing maintenance on your vehicle and keeping you informed if any other issues are found on your vehicle and will ask if you want them to fix it and whether it is safe to drive.
I was pulling my motorcycle with my dodge challenger and had a tire blowout on my trailer. I was about 5 miles away from this shop on the shoulder of the interstate, and was able to limp it to H&L. They mounted and balanced a new tire for me and I was back on the road in about an hour. I just showed up there, no phone call, no appointment or anything, and they appeared to be busy, but they still squeezed me in so I could get back on the road. Highly recommend.
Incredible service! I was passing through Georgia on my way to a funeral in Florida when my car started sputtering and the check engine light began urgently flashing. I pulled over at the nearest exit, searched on my phone for the closest repair shop and found H & L Tire and Auto Repair. What are the chances that in all that randomness, Id find the most generous and efficient auto repair shop Ive ever encountered?! They looked at my car right away, ran a diagnostic test, identified the problem, topped off my oil and gave me some guidance about the safety of continuing my trip to Florida considering the engine trouble. This was all taken care of in less than 30 minutes and they didnt charge me a dime. Its not often one comes across such acts of kindness when dealing with a business. Im most appreciative and encourage you to give these folks your business!
My husband and I were on vacation and shortly after getting on the interstate received a low tire warning. Luckily H&L was just at the next exit. They quickly took a look, repaired and got us back on the road. Great, professional service. Much appreciated.
This place is amazing. Traveling through Georgia I hit a truck tire that went flying across the road. Tore my under carriage cover off and wasn’t good to be driving the car with it dragging the ground. While the shop was very busy with customers, they promptly addressed my needs, got me fixed up and back on the road. Very polite & professional. Best part is - they didn’t even charge me. Super appreciative that this was where I ended up.

Weve lived in Richmond Hill for two years now. When we started having trouble with our vehicles, we spoke to several mechanics in the area. H & L was the only garage to treat us like one of the family and not just a number. We havent used anyone else since. We are happy to give them our business and refer everyone we know to them. They are fair and honest, and will always call you before making any repairs. They are timely, prompt, and the mechanics know what theyre doing. Plus, there is the cutest dog in the waiting room who cant wait to play fetch with you while you wait. I stop in just to say hi to that sweet face.The owner, Mike, will never charge you or tell you that unnecessary repairs need to be done like some of those other places in town. Theyve actually told me that parts were fine, didnt need to be replaced, and took them off my bill. Talk about honest. Ive had tire leaks, screws, and even a chunk missing from tires and they were all fixed, free of charge and with a smile.We will also always buy our tires through them. Theyll find the best tire for what you need and call around to make sure you are getting the best deal. Oil changes are fast, tire rotation and 30 point inspections included, free of charge. They also provide a great military discount.I wish that we could bring the entire H & L family with us when our time comes to move. They know their customers by name, work with you in times of need, and thats the kind of service that is hard to let go of.
Just got a new set of tires from H & L and could not be more than pleased with whole process. The tires had to be picked from another location, that was fine as I had erands to take care of. Got back a few hours later and they took care of me right away. When the time comes for tires for my wifes car, H & L will be the place Im taking it. Oh, love the new tires.
I guys at H&L were great. Not only did they fix what we brought our vehicle in for, but they took timee to check another issue on the spot and gave a recommendation that saved us time and worry. Excellent service, reasonable price, great customer interactions.
Unfortunately can no longer recommend. Used several times in the past with quality results.This time however dropped my vehicle off on a Sat with promise it would be looked at the following Monday. Was not evaluated until the following Fri. Multiple requests for written $$ estimate for recommended repairs went ignored over a 2 week period (I called 3 times, sent text and asked in person twice). I like to do business locally but guess I’ll be forced to find a shop in Savannah from here on out.
Made an appointment online - which was very easy and convenient. Showed up for my appointment 15 minutes early which was no problem. I waited for the oil change and tire rotation and was in and out in about 30 minutes!! Ive waited much longer than that at other places. Will definitely be using H&L from now on!
On our way back from vacation and our car broke down. Had a tow bring us to the closet place and we’re real happy it was h and l. The staff was very friendly and straight forward with us. They were in constant contact with us, made sure we knew every thing that went wrong and what needed fixing. We ended up needing specialized parts, which took an extra, but at no extra cost. There are veterans in the shop as well, so they had no problem offering us a military discount.
I went to this shop on early Thursday morning with a flat tire. They did not have my tire type in stock, they called and said it would be there in about 5 hours. Not only did one of the guys sitting at the front go pick up the tire so that we were not there all day and would be able to get back on the road. We were in and out in less than two hours. Great customer service !! This is the place to get a repair done.

Awesome service. Popped a tire on I-95 driving home from Savannah. Gene took care of me in a professional and prompt manner and had me on my way home in no time. Wish I could use them regularly. I would highly recommend for people in the area.
Had a really pleasant experience with them a couple days ago. Had an appointment for noon and they started my oil change on time! They were fast. They were friendly. They were professional. And they did a good job. I highly recommend them.
I enjoyed this place, even though its right off the interstate. What I mean is, typically an auto craft place located off an interstate highway is usually focusing on price gouging, the drivers traveling the interstate. To my amazement their work and prices are pretty fair. Me being military and new to the Richmond Hill area, these people treated me as if theyve known me for years. I do believe theyve found a repeat customer in me.
Experiencing a tire disaster on Saturday morning of Christmas weekend, we had the vehicle towed to H & L, on the advice of a neighbor. Arriving with the tow Service as they opened, it was evident that they were SLAMMED, as it was going to be the last day that they would be open, until the day after Christmas.They not only reached out to their suppliers to obtain the correct set ASAP, but had them installed, mounted, and balanced within 2 hours, at a discounted price ! This fabulous service helped us avoid a transportation nightmare over the Christmas holiday !We also had a pre-existing massive oil leak, which other shops were unable to completely, properly diagnose, and had been reticent to schedule repairs, or even quote a price for this critical service. Mike Stewart (owner) , took the car in immediately, had his master tech examine & diagnose the causes and prescribe the repair required. Even though the repair required much more labor (due to insufficient access from poor manufacturer design), Mike Stewart honestly showed us the problem, defended the CORRECT FIX, scheduled it immediately for the following morning (it required a complete day to properly repair), and again offered a fair & generous discount because the proper repair far exceeded the book prescribed guidelines.We furnished the parts and some elbow-grease, and H & L delivered superb, professional, economic repair !WE WILL NO LONGER USE ANY OTHER AUTOMOTIVE CARE FACILITIES WITHIN 100 MILES ! H & L AUTOMOTIVE IS HONEST, COMPETENT, and delivers on their PROMISES ! What more can a customer ask for ?

If there were six stars, I would Give You all SIX ******H&L Tire Repair was my Angel...this is a well overdue review but I want Everyone to know how much Mike Stewart and his Team go Above and Beyond to Help!!!I was making a trip from Cleveland, Ohio to Miami, Florida the first day back of the New Year 2019. After blowing three tires with a old Truck pulling a full trailer that Chevy finally gave out on me in that I lost complete braking control in the hills of Georgia. After filling up a couple quarts of dot3 brake fluid to get by, I knew this was critical to get off the road, but I didnt want to take my truck to just anyone so luck would have it after a quick search for the Best Mechanics in Richmond Hill, Georgia...not much came up. -Mikes H&L Tire and Auto Repair, Inc. did and to much to my amazement it was only a few exits from where I was stuck on the highway, so I mustered up the courage to fix the blown trailer tire with 6am traffic rushing by and drive the brakeless truck off the highway and thats where I navigated my crippled vehicle to H&L Tire and Auto Repair, Inc. 😉The first thing I noticed when walking into the office was a clear sense of family, local sports players in pictures from sponsorships and professionalism. I was asked by three different business associates if I needed help then I began to tell them my story. They brought me to Mike and he cleared the bay so I could get my truck in ASAP to get back on the road as I had a deadline to start a new job the next day and still had 430 miles to travel. Once on the lift that Silverado wasnt looking so good, the brake-line burst on the rear and the caliper function wasnt much better. Mike asked how much I had to spend and I pulled out only about $50 and change. I hadnt planned on losing my brakes and my job hadnt started yet, funds were low. Mike had his team take a torch to the wheel, to get it off, they struggled with it until it came free as rust had made the job more difficult, I overheard Mike tell his Team I want this truck fixed and back on the road within the hour...hes gotta go quick....and there it was. 45 mins later to my amazement, the line was patched, a valve was added to bleed to the brakes and Mike took me aside and suggested I get the truck off the road as soon as I could because more was wrong with it....Mike had several other auto issues creep up while I was there. He didnt seem to let any of the added pressures of an already packed schedule affect employee attitudes or even that of his personal concentration. I observed quietly as he directed his Team, they all seemed to work in balance with efficiency to solve all of the challenging walk-ins, tires, repair and other vehicle problems of that chilly morning, including mine a day after New Years 2019.I dont know how to thank you for your generosity and the professionalism and compassion displayed by You and Your Team Mike...I thoroughly appreciated your concern, service quality and honesty. We had a blow out on the interstate and limped into H&L Tire and Auto. The service was excellent. They didnt have the size tire we needed but they went and got one and got us on our way. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
My car stalled as I was driving through Georgiaon my way to Florida. H & L Tire and Auto Repair made a bad situation better. They are an honest, respectful and knowledgeable team. If you have the misfortune of breaking down in the vicinity of H & L, request that your car be towed to their shop!
I came into H&L on Monday April 23 to get a blower motor installed in my truck first I was quoted at $300 but I advised Mike the manager who gave me this quote I had my own parts and the area in which the blower goes was already disassembled. I end up having to leave and come back 4 times to get 3 wires spliced and 3 bolts tighten under my glove compartment and was charged almost $150. I was told I was being charged for everything separately, this was taken to a level of personal vindictiveness and racially motivated acts. This is an unfortunate sad experience I’ve encountered and advise ALL Afro Americans to avoid going to this place because you will be charged an excessive amount for your services rendered. They take a person in need and take advantage of the situation and do the work and then charge you an outrageous fee. I questioned the installation and it was said to be $89 plus tax, when the smoke cleared my bill was around $150, sales tax on &89 is around $7, I was charged $11 that’s incredible.Well I posted this and hopefully no harm will come to for this, or any vindictive acts from above mentioned: I recorded the situation while I was there because I knew where it was headed so if you think you’re gonna be price gouged as I was, I advise you to do the same thing, you are allowed public recording as long as there no lewd acts being recorded.
When I went to H & L I thought my warranty had run out, in fact I insisted on it. I was past due for an oil change and it was over heating. I thought oh no this is going to cost an arm and a leg!!!After my son and I dropped off the car I received a call that they had checked and it was indeed still under warranty and except for the oil change the over heating problem would be covered at the dealership. They could have taken complete advantage and done the oil change and water pump repair!!!I had them do oil change and took it to dealer for the covered mechanical repair. I was a loyal customer for years, however thisblast visit cost over $800 for a spark plugs and wires, and a fuel filter. I feel a bit ripped off and Im not planning on coming back
I took my fiancés vehicle there after another local chain did some shoddy repairs. This place corrected all the previous screw ups and gave me the documents to prove that other shop messed up. Highly recommend.
Stay away! Short answer long answer as follows...Had one of the worst experience here. First one of the employees didnt decided to show up and Im guessing the manager was on the phone with him in the main room having a very unprofessional discussion with what I assume is now a former employee.I came in to get a new tire because I caught a screw in the side wall where it couldnt be fixed. The tire never went flat as I caught it before it got to low. Had no issues with the TPMS prior to taking the tire off, but afterwards the sensor was bad and was going to cost me 120+ to fix. After refusing he said hed cut me a deal and only charge me 46 for the new sensor. Shows you how well the profit margin is... Anyways a month or two later Im in my usual mechanics shop and come to find out H&L cross threaded a stud on the wheel and its going to cost me another 100-125 to fix. If your wondering I havent touched the wheel since being in H&L so kinda obvious who is the culprit.All in all Ive warn everyone to stay clear of them and their business practice.
We were on the road to TN when the van started shaking when accelerating, went to h&l after getting a part and code read at a part store. Gene Shadler helped us out in a very prompt and professional manner. The overall atmosphere was very bussiness like and had a friendly vibe. Southern hospitality at its finest.
They literally wanted to charge me $400 to install a $40 part that my daughter could install. It was a hose with three hose clamps on top of the engine. They will take you to the cleaners if they can get away with it.
H&L was wonderful when I called to let them know I was coming in with my car on the tow truck. They diagnosed the problem, took the time to explain the problem to me, and repaired it at a very reasonable price. Im glad to have found a good local shop in the area for the next time I have a problem. Thanks yall!
Updating my previous review. I went back to let them know my tire sensor on the tire I got replaced had broken. They were quick to say they would replace the sensor since it was on the tire that they replaced and should not have fallen off/broken. They did this free of charge. They also made sure to check my wheel bearing again and this time went through and compared the wheels so I could hear the difference. I now agree my wheel bearing will eventually need to be replaced but the original statement that it would not make it the 20 miles home was exaggerated. The service manager did a good job of apologizing for the situation and the way it was explained the first time. He also made multiple efforts to find out what they could have done better and tried to make me feel better about the experience I had.Original review: Go somewhere else! They are nice at first but dont let that fool you. Luckily I got a second opinion and it saved me $600+ in uncessary work on my vehicle. They try to bully and scare you into getting repairs that arent necessary. Tried to tell me I couldnt leave with my car because it wasnt safe due to a bad wheel bearing and i wouldnt make it the 25 miles home. I made it home and then consulted another professional who told me it was fine. I then went on a road trip 300+ miles no problem. And when you stand your ground the general manager acts unprofessional. Shameful how they try to take advantage and bully customers. I will NOT be returning!
The most Ive ever been disrespected in my life. I came in because my engine made a rattling noise whenever I turned and started the car and I told Gene (the gentleman at the front desk) this and he promptly took it get looked at and diagnosed. When they brought it back they said I had at least 6 different problems with involving 3 different pulleys the water pump a thermostat and one sensor. The total WOULD have been 1,180$ for the fix. I immediately called S&P automotive and had them look at it as well.. all it needed was an oil change which it was well overdue for. There is no more rattling when I turn or start the car. I kindly called H&L and talked to Gene about a refund for a false diagnostic for which I paid $102 for. He said no kindly and that he stands behind his mechanic. I respect that. I went on with my day and Gene called me back telling me his General manager said to bring me and my father up there so we could both see how its messed up and his mechanics are certified and S&P are not and when I asked him why he didnt do an oil check he said it didnt sound like you needed one based off your complaints we only check for what the customer thinks is wrong . I paid for a FULL diagnostic of my engine not of just what I said or think is wrong . He then sarcastically said i dont know what a full diagnostic is. you want me to check your car bumper to bumper? Thats when I knew this man has no respect for the customer. I dont know anything about cars and neither does anyone who brings it up there. Thats WHY we bring it to you! I then asked does a rattling engine sound like it could use an oil change? He then stuttered and realized that yes indeed it does but still wont give me my refund and he ended the call saying he will call my father and tell him how I was acting up on the phone. Completely disrespectful. Next time just check the whole engine and assume the customer MAY have additional problems. Gene was very respectful until that last phone call. All in all unless you like to be disrespected and want Gene to call your parents dont ever go to H and L tire.
I went in with what I thought was an oil leak after getting an oil change from another shop. They took me right in checked it out and the mechanic said it was nothing. I went another week and I still kept seeing something leaking under my car. I took it back and this time I took pictures because it wasnt leaking when the car was not running and again they took me right in, fixed the problem and didnt charge me a thing either time.
Amazing customer service I came in for new tires and transmission flush they went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I am very particular when it comes to maintenance on my truck but after today I would drive from Kentucky just to do business here that is how extremely satisfied I am.

I am driving in Bluffton only to be in the back of a red F150 truck which has a tag saying test drive and your this sho name...Obviously no license plate or anything just a sticker saying test drive. The guy in the car is driving all over the place and so I get in from of him only to see him on his cell phone. Your shop isnt in Bluffton and.therefore this obviously wasnt a test drive. You cant be taking cars all over the place without a license plate only to slap on a test drive sticker. Not to mention another state. I wouldnt recommend this place just knowing there dishonesty.

2022-04-02Absolutely wonderful! My dad mentioned this place to me last year and I have been here several times in the last few months as I have had various random issues and/or maintenance work done. They are quick, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Their pricing is fair and competitive. They have been absolute life savers for me and I have even brought my vehicle here from out of state (more than once), as I don’t ever want to take my cars anywhere else. The lobby area is very comfortable as well. I can not recommend this place enough. Thanks so much to all the employees here!

2022-07-13I had my car taken in. Had car shield. My deductible was 100.00. I was charged over 200.00. When i got there to pick up my car my battery was dead. Then had to buy a new one. Then starting having trouble with trans. Took it back. They topped it off with the fluid i have on hand in my car and broke the plug.I will NEVER GO TO A PLACE THAT ALMOST BURNED UP MY TRANSMISSION!!!NEVER MIND CHARGING MORE THAT WAS TOLD.

2022-05-16The entire experience from beginning to end was one that should be replicated in the customer service industry everywhere! I called Friday for an appointment, they got me in the following Monday. I didn’t expect to stay as long as I did but my vehicle needed more work than expect and they were thorough in the explanation of what was needed, they were concerned about my safety and told me it wasn’t safe to drive (which I appreciated) and got me in and out as quickly as possible. I watched numerous customers walk in and out and every one of them walked out with a smile on their face and satisfied with the service performed. There was a rude property owner of the marathon gas station that barged in and started making demands of the people behind the desk (I’m assuming these are the owners) and instead of escalating and alarming their customers they professionally handled a very uncomfortable situation. Needless to say I won’t be using that marathon gas station, that seems to be abandoned, (seems appropriate) in the future. The people at H&L apologized for the rude man’s behavior (which is not their responsibility) and we’re gracious. The prices were incredibly reasonable and they did an amazing and timely job! We will be taking all our vehicles there from now on!

2022-06-06My wife and I want to thank the good people of H & L Tire. We limped into their facility on Friday night with a bad alternator, on our way back to Canada. They were able to make the repair immediately on the following morning for us to be back on the road. We appreciate their urgency knowing how busy they are. Thank you H& L Tire.

2021-12-03H&L Tire performed timing belt replacement on my 06 Tundra. They did a non professional repair by Heli-coiling a bolt that broke on a major timing belt component that ran the tensioner pulley. The belt only had 37k miles on it which is not even close to the 100k interval that the timing belt is supposed to last per Toyota! This caused catastrophic damage to the motor when the belt broke and the motor had to be totally replaced by Toyota costing several thousand dollars. I have contacted H&L tire by phone and email for the past few weeks with no response back by their management. An employee that answered the phone mentioned their warranty is only 12month/12kmiles. However, the heli-coil repair H&L tire did KNOWING it would not even come close to the OEM Toyota recommended 100,000 mile timing belt replacement life. I hope H&L tire makes this right for the customer but after several weeks of waiting for a response they are dodging their problems. I will consider removing this review if they make things right and admit fault, but at this point I would not let them work on a kids match box car. See photos attached that Toyota provided of H&Ls poor workmanship.

2022-04-29This place is FABULOUS! They were so quick to diagnose the problem and help with the repair. They were so honest and fair. We were driving on the interstate, when we hit something in the road. Not being from around this area, they were one of the closest places we could find. They fit us in right before closing, and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone they don’t upsell, they are fair and honest.
