Great service, great prices and great food. We will definitely be back. We normally always go to another hibachi restaurant and they didnt take reservations and it was a Saturday night so we decided to give this place a try. Were so glad we did! We were a party of five and everyone agreed that this may be our new place. I think portions may have been slightly smaller but the price reflected that and unless youre just a huge fan of having leftovers it works out pretty well. I do wish the waitress could have understood English better as ordering was a little difficult since I had several specific work quests on customizing our order .. it was a challenge to get across what we wanted but in the end we got just that so we were all happy
Me and my family of 4 came in on 11/22/21 and had a wonderful experience! The staff at the front was not only nice, but very efficient and got us sat down fairly quick. The food (sushi and hibachi) was really good, but we only saw our server once the whole time and he seemed like he was in a rush. This establishment was clean and well kept, me and my family enjoyed the show and plan on returning!!!!
The older man during the day is so rude, every time I’ve called he’s had a bad attitude along with when you go to pick up your food. I only come here for the shrimp tempura but the food or the place is not worth interacting with him. The young people at night were usually nice though
Place was pretty dead when we walked in. They sat us right away but it took a long time for them to come over and ask what we wanted to drink and when he did come over he acted annoyed to even be there. They were also out of hot saki and a few other things. We left and went to atomi on dallas hwy.
The Final and Last time we will spend money here. We were here on a Tuesday night and a total of 6 people were here eating dinner, we were four of the 6. Out of three visits here 2 havent been good. With the new price increase definitely not going back. 1st we asked for vegetable tempura with sweet potato and zucchini only and that came out wrong. Since we dont eat the vegetables on the hibachi we said no vegetables we even clarified we wanted vegetables in the rice which is normally only onion. Well the rice had no vegetables in it. The fried rice was salt, pepper, plain butter, and soy sauce. The butter used to have a tint to it and garlic mixed in. The whole part of hibachi is the show. No show what so ever. The only time the chef asked how the food was was when he was leaving. Truly sad when people want more money for less product and less quality.
Prices increased, and no longer able to order lunch sized portion for dinner (hence the 4 of 5 star rating). Food is still amazing and the tableside show is fun to watch.Due to the price increases we wont be able to go as often as we used to... $100 spent for 3 people (including tip).
Service is generally great. Food taste great and they accommodate special request (such as no onion or extra sauce etc.). Very great prices for hibachi restaurant. The real treat with this place is to simply dine in at a regular table. We generally go for supper on Friday or Saturday evenings and normally there is little to no wait (since most go for the hibachi show). Havent had a bad meal there.
The old man is the owner and or host and he is one of the most rude people at this establishment. They have terrible customer service managers and they try to charge gratuity for a baby that did not. This chefs that make the food are the only reason why anybody would come here.
Walked in for lunch today sat down for lunch after having stuff thrown on the table to us, and looking at how dirty the place was (including the plates given to us) we got up and walked right back out. If a place doesnt care enough to keep the walls clean theres no telling what the kitchen is like.
Ordered to go using the online ordering option on their website. First time ordering from this establishment. The process of placing my order was smooth and seamless. Quick on my food being ready within 25mins. Staff was friendly and they packaged our food quite well. Everything was fresh, hot and nothing was missing. Portions were fantastic! My wife ordered Sashami and it was 3 large pieces of fish. Worth the money, very tasty. Hibachi was really yummy too. Tons of veggies, rice etc. The veggie tempura had nice selection that came with it. All in all our new go to place for Sushi or Hibachi since moving from FL.
I called and placed a dinner order tonight (7:18pm). The girl who took my order seemed annoyed that it was a detailed order. I ignored her ignorance as we had patronized this establishment for years and they usually have ok service. She then told me it would be 20- 30 minutes to prepare. Which was fine as I live about 20 minutes away. I arrived 25 minutes later and figured I would sit in the car to give them some additional time to prepare my order. I go inside and pay for my order which was $92 (this meal was for “3” people). I was then told it would be another 10-15 mins. I sat there 20 minutes, then asked the young lady at the desk again about the status of my order. She goes to the back, comes out and starts talking to another young lady and laughing. The next thing I know the manager comes out to inform me the chef never received my order. How does this happen when I asked them to check on my order several times once I arrived? I of course requested a refund as this is unacceptable. Service at this establishment has gone down tremendously. It’s very disappointing as they had phenomenal service during the pandemic when the staff was small. I believe if the young ladies at the front desk were more focused on their jobs instead of their phones and joking the business would be more professional.
DO NOT EAT HERE !!!!! The customer service was completely unacceptable. First they sit us down after we’ve waited for about 15 mins (they were not busy) then they sat us at the hibachi table, we were RUSHED to order our food. the chef took over 30 mins to come out to cook ( they were waiting for people to arrive to sit us ALL at one table ) CHEAP! NO COVID RESTRICTIONS AT ALL THE STAFF DIDN’T WEAR A MASK AN THEY SAT EVERYONE SO CLOSE TOGETHER WHEN WE ARE SUPPOSE TO BE 6 Feet apart ! Due to the closeness and with Covid being around i politely asked if we can sit somewhere else. The Owner AND THE HOST WERE COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL AND DIDN’T WANT TO SIT US AN LITERALLY YELLED AT US AN TOLD US WE CAN LEAVE THEN SAID BYE AN SHOOD US OUT THE DOOR ! The host With The glasses up front the man he wouldn’t say his name Bc he knows he’s WRONG ! This is NO WAY TO TREAT PAYING CUSTOMERS UNACCEPTABLE MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Came in and they were pretty slow only to be told that it would be a 15- 20 minute wait- okay cool. Only for people that came in after us to get sat before us and then to get sat at a table that had been open the entire time we were there. Once we got sat, our drinks and food came out quickly however we only saw our server one time the entire time and literally had to chase him down for our bill. The hostess and the bus boys literally sat up front flirting and on their phones the entire time only to then begin arguing with the servers about sitting people. The food does not compare to any other habachi restaurant around. Next time, I will save myself and my families time and go to Taki and wait the 30- 45 minutes than deal with an establishment like this again. Save yourself the headache.
Pick up order placed on website. Fast preparation, packed well and neat. Everything was super fresh and tasty. Sashami was such big pieces, very impressed! Rolls were massive too and so darn good. Worth the money, plus staff was nice. First time ordering from here and I must say will be returning.
My son and I had dinner here last night. Our server was a older man and he made it a great night. He talked with us the whole time. The chef could have used a lil work but our server was amazing. The food was okay. We got soup no salad he asked if we wanted extra soup (no extra charge) no vegetables, plenty of rice, hibachi chicken. Plenty of food. The place could use a update but over all it’s a good place for dinner.
SO SLOW!!! We were sat for about 15 minutes before anyone came to the table and that was only after I told the hostess that we had not been greeted. After that we saw our waitress only 3 times in the hour+ we were there. When she took our order, when she brought the food, and when she brought the check. The food was good but not worth the irritation. There is also the fact that for the first time in my life I saw moldy chopsticks. Makes me wonder about the cleanliness of rest of the restaurant...
After being seated we sat there for quite awhile with no one acknowledging we were even there. The server who finally did come to our table acted like he drew the short straw of who was going to wait on us. After taking our order we decided to leave and told the hostess to have the server cancel our order.
Went to Hai Hai for a Birthday Party. Noticed their health score was an 80 as we walked in. I have a child with Special Needs who is afraid of the fire (sensory issues) I asked if we could sit at a table separate from the grill but close to the party because of this. The man told me no that we could walk away when the fire was lit and come back after it went down because it only lasted a minute. About that time my son bolted out the front door so I had to go after him and didn’t get a chance to respond. I know not everyone gets it, but when there are 10 empty tables and no one waiting on them what does it hurt to let someone set at one no matter the reason.
The food is good but the service is questionable. We ordered fried calamari, our server brought out a california roll and when my wife tried to tell our server henry we didnt order that he told her she did order it. We said no we didnt and he responded so you want me to pay for it? As he pressured me into accepting this dish we didnt order and both dont like. If this wasnt enough he charged us for 2 soft drinks when I ordered a water. Its usually great food and great service but we really definitely be carrying out if we come back.
Just to say. We went there last week and as always the food is pretty good. Today we went and they were totally unprepared. It took forever to sit down. They told me not to order an appetizer because it would take to long. Didnt ask how I would like my steak cooked. Very disappointed today
The absolute worst experience ever! I went in to order 6 meals to go. I asked to sit down and they wouldnt let me sit and have a drink while I waited. I even asked the girl with pink hair at the front to allow me to sit and she looked at me like I was crazy!!!! 0 stars is more like it!
Our server was great but another server delivered our food and when we asked him a question he was extremely rude. We asked if we could get a different sauce for our calamari and he refused saying the sauce we had was for it and we couldnt get anything else because that was the sauce that we had to use on it.The food was ok. By ok I mean that you can eat it but it is not good. Didnt have any flavor and just wasnt good sushi.
Well I want to start off by saying that the atmosphere was very good. The cooks were very entertaining especially more than other hibachi places in the area. The prices weren’t bad either. Two people were like $35. But the food didn’t have much flavor to it. We were not offered a second beer and were not offered normal essentials. So if you are looking for a budget friendly entertaining atmosphere this is the place to come. If you want non interactive cooks and slightly better food go to the other hibachi in the area.
This place used to be good years ago, this restaurant is not clean and they don’t treat there customers fair. They add tip to your bill to assure that they will get tip, Also I found a hair in my food twice..They never want to address the situations, they just want to give you fresh food. There drinks... are very much questionable..Will never be going back, because they have bad service & they don’t treat there people right. There always unprofessional & have there family business problems right there where the customers can hear.Take my advice. Just don’t go there. Not a good environment...you want to be able to enjoy your experience especially wherever you are spending your OWN money!
Ive eaten here a lot but these last 2 times went home with food poisoning. I just want to say if you or your kids want to have an upset stomach and throw up then by all means go here. Service is rushy, they want you to hurry and finish your food. Then waitresses are hovering over you as you are filling out the tip. I think Im done going here. Place isnt like it used to be. Good food=happy tummy
Service is awful. Henry was my waiter and he was not welcoming, lacked customer service, and was down right rude. He took 12 mins to greet me and slammed drinks on the table.. As a bartender, and someone who has been in the service industry for sometime, for me to NOT tip, Is something I never do, but tonight Henry marks the first. When a server tells me “I’m too busy to take a to go order, eat your food ” that’s where I draw the line. If you’re in the weeds with 3 two tops and a party, this is the wrong line of work for you. And as a business with covid restrictions, you’d think your priority would be to keep the guests wanting to come back and keep you afloat. Never the less Henry , you need to improve your people skills.
My first time ordering from this place. I Called to politely place an order for the sushi Wednesday special. When I was ready to pay he refused to take payment and said they will close soon And without noticed he hung up on my face. I called back and was hung up on again. Extremely rude people. Will not recommend this place. If this is how they are I would hate to try their food or eat there. I can’t imagine the experience of their food.
This used to be my very favorite sushi spot, but the last few times I went, it really just fell off. Let me start by saying that Ive had sushi all over the world and this last time, this was the absolute worse. At the core of every sushi meal is rice. Rice is so integral to sushi that its pretty much overlooked until its bad and then everyone notices that its bad. Sushi is about layering flavors about things complimenting each other and my last meal seemed like it was like putting things together but there was no cohesion, no passion.Im reluctant to put this next part here because some may get offended, but in all my travels Ive only seen one female sushi chef and she was amazing and so when I noticed the woman here, I was actually excited because I wanted to see what she could bring to the table but in the end I was sorely disappointed. Japans sushi culture is male dominated. They are really big on tradition but things are changing. So if you see the sheer could very well be a master but in this case it didnt pan out. The food was poorly constructed, it lacked skill, flavor, passion and depth. It was tragic
POST COVID: I went Satuday for a pick up lunch order. I was charged $26 bc they dont allow kids meal on take out. The issue was we had about 1/3 the food if we had ate in. I had 1 chicken and 1 chicken and scallops. Portion size is ridiculous. My granddaughter is 8 and completely finished her food in one sitting. Didnt think to check the order when picking it up. So, when I got home, I was very disappointed.I have been going here for years. Overall service is great. The food is sometimes a little less than the best because of the difference in cooking styles, but nonetheless good. Prices are good also.
Don’t eat here unless you are rich and prepared to leave a big tip because the owner of the restaurant told us not to come back unless we give our whole paycheck to them. Me and my wife are poor but we were going here because we loved the sushi however after being insulted my wife and I will find another place to eat that just appreciates our business and understands that not everyone can leave a huge tip!!! Tried telling the owner we did not have much money but he had no sympathy for us! No worries Because God looks after his people !Never eating here again !! This sushi restaurant is not doing so great anyways, they just lost another customer so it looks like I got the last laugh(:
Update: 6/1/2018– My husband and I have given this place chance after chance and they always manage to ensure dissatisfaction. It appears to be their ultimate goal.. I know.. That’s a first for me too. Majority of the time, their employees are rude. They are very inconsistent and more times than not, they get your order wrong (even if they repeat it back to you correctly). So if you’re ordering To-Go, do yourself a favor and check it before you leave their establishment. They still charge extra for everything. Recently, I asked them if I could sub my soup for a extra salad (which consist of lettuce ONLY) and they told me I could but that it would be regular price for the lettuce..excuse me..I meant salad. Well I may as well keep my soup and buy the lettuce, instead of substituting it. What kind of sense does that make?Beginning of old review...Food is good but they charge extra for every little thing. They even charged us extra for requesting no vegetables with either of our meals. We didnt ask for anything extra in exchange for the vegetables. That was definitely a 1st for us.
I love sitting at the hibachi grill, being very entertained, eating yummy, fresh food & the heat from the fire is so awesome! But, I also love sitting at the sushi bar, watching the brilliant chefs create a sushi roll. Then my mouth waters, as I take my first bite and wow, the sushi just seems to melt in your mouth!!! Mmm, mouth watering Sushi 🍣🍙!!
The sushi prices are reasonable. I had the sashimi deluxe platter and the pieces were very large and I had to cut them in 2 to eat them. It was much more food than I expected. I have had hibachi here before and it was great as well. My wife particularly loves this place for their white sauce.
A minister at my church recommended this place, so my family went after church service was over. Food was pretty good; I really liked the fried rice. Hibachi chef made it a fun experience for my family. Since were a larger family, they added 18% gratuity to our bill automatically.
Update: first time back in 5 months. I stop coming after a male waiter charged 20% mandatory gratuity as a party of six when I was dining alone. When I brought to his attention an apology was out the question.Figured I try it out again and unfortunately I cannot provide a favorable rating. The dining room smelled like I was sitting in an ashtray. I finally realized the smell was coming from waiter who must be a chain smoker. Next, the food taste like the soy sauce it was cooked in soured. I left a full plate of food on the table after paying for my ticket.-----------------------I cant get enough of this place. I havent sat at the Hibachi table yet but everything I have tried is still very good especially the Crab Egg Rolls.I normally order Hibachi from the kitchen and it literally takes under 7 minutes before my order is fulfilled. This has become a regular spot for me.
I like this spot! They prepare good dishes, their menu is rich, The cook in that restaurant is very trained, I like a lot eating all their dishes. The dishes are always fresh, the service towards the customers is helpful. I go often to this restaurant and I was never disappointed. I recommend it to all.
I seriously would have given a 5 to this restaurant because the food was really good. The chef who cooked for us was good too... Tons of personality and charisma. However, his conversation with us made it difficult to enjoy our dinner. The majority of the time, he spoke to us about the restaurant getting bad health department scores... And the reasons why they got them. He also mentioned about being on Channel 2 for the scores. He said how upset they were that they were told they had to wear gloves to roll sushi. Also, the temp of the refrigerator was in question. I really dont think that is appropriate for your customers... That are about to eat your food, to hear all that. I will think twice about going there again after hearing what he had to say.
This used to be a pretty decent Japanese steak house. It has badly gone down hill. I had their Sushi and it was good. My wife had their habachi chicken and that was a huge disappointment. The chicken tasted like it was cooked, left to sit out and then cooked again. It tasted like rubber. We asked for shrimp instead since the chicken tasted so bad. The waitress also said that it was bad. I was disappointed more when they brought the check and charged more because we got the Shrimp. There was never an apology for the bad chicken. I will probably never be back to this one.
The owners son is absolutely insane. Upon arrival we were seated by the hostess and magically she was our waitress as well. She told us from the very beginning she was not a waitress and we were very patient because of her positive attitude and friendly behavior. Iwe were there for 2 hours and and my 76-year-old grandmother, who rarely leaves the house, but wanted to join in on the birthday festivities never received her food. We were all literally asking for Togo boxes and the owners son came out from the kitchen and made sure that we were planning on paying for her meal, $10 meal. The waitress who forgot to put her meal in was willing to pay for her mistake. I would have never let her pay for the meal. The manager came out and was going to take my grandmothers food away from her because he said he was too busy to cook her food to begin with he had other things to take care of. He refused to comp my grandmothers meal. He was such a rude man. We will never be back and I sincerely hope people read this review. And rethink about eating at this poor establishment. Shame on them.
What are these sketchy conspiracy reviews? Yall, this place freaking rocks! The prices are good, and the food is even better! Best fried rice in town! I highly recommend the chicken, despite their salmon being great(which is normally my favorite!) Very polite staff, and a very cozy feel with the location! I use to only go to Taki across the street, but this place managed to out do them despite being like half the size!
Worst hibachi place I’ve ever been too. Stains on the walls. The place is filthy!!!Didn’t bother to season anything. When he came out to cook he cleaned the grill poorly and there was old burnt rice and items he mixed in with the newly cooked food. I wouldn’t recommend.
DO NOT EVER EAT AT THIS PLACE. I went there a couple of nights ago with my friend and my daughter. We usually love this place but the other night i promised i would NEVER go back. First of all our waiter rushed us to order our food because we were the last ones to be seated at the table and the cook was ready to come out and start cooking. I ordered steamed rice and there was a ROACH in it. I asked to speak to the manager and she proceeds to tell me that that happens sometimes and that if i didnt pay for it she was going to call 911. VERY VERY rude. aweful management and aweful service if i could give zero stars i would. if your looking for bug infested food and rude employees and management this is the place to go!
My husband and I went here for a date and it was great. It was a little bit of a wait for the cook to get to the hibachi grill but all of the food was amazing. The only thing I didnt care for was the lack of space. They could stand to remove a chair from around the hibachi and spread the others out so the customers arent elbowing eachother all night.
Just finished eating here ordered shrimp fried rice and was very dissatisfied. Took almost 10 minutes before I was served. When I got my food it was lukewarm no steam at all. I sent it back and requested warmer food(something I have never done before at a restaurant) and when it came back it appear that they microwaved it. My server was not very attentive to my needs and was rushing around without listening. Some other customers behind me had my same server and as she took their order they immediately asked for a new server. I do not plan on coming back. I did not even finish the rice nor even bother to take the rest home. Yuck! Waste of money for some rice and dry shrimp.
The food is decent for the price & close to my house for hibachi.... HOWEVER, TAKE MY ADVICE IF LULU IS WORKING, WALK OUT!!! She is as rude as a server can get! We just waited almost 30 minutes, didnt get acknowledged, let alone get our drink order taken. She then walked over to the people who just sat down to care for them. She picks who to serve. And lets everyone else sit. 5 of her tables were just complaining when i walked out. Take my advice & leave!!!!
I have been coming to displace for 2 years solid now supported them through the BS Covid 19. Now I was told I could not sit in the sushi section because on couple was sitting in that area. So I had to sit instead of 15 feet away, in an area that was 25 feet away. In an area I can not stand.
BAD FIRST AND LAST EXPERIENCE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENTAfter a hard day at work I decided to go grab something to eat with my 2 year old daughter. The hostess asked how many and i stated “just us two”. I asked her if they had a booth available (toddlers do not sit long in those steel chairs so i always block her in a booth). The hostess stated they did not have any booths at their location (found that odd) but that i could opt in to hibachi to which i agreed. I figured this would be entertaining enough for a 2 year old to sit still. She walked us to our seats and as i started to get settled, a lady walked over to us and asked if i was buying 2 meals. I replied “uhm no not 2 adult meals maybe just a regular meal plus a kids meal”. The lady then proceeded to tell me that unless i purchased 2 full meals i would need to sit at a regular table. I replied stating “shes a baby she will not eat a full meal” KEEP IN MIND THIS ENTIRE HIBACHI TABLE WAS EMPTY. No wait, and not busy at all. I had already had a long day and i did not want to eat at an establishment that does not allow me to sit where i want. So i got up and told her thank you as I walked out. I went over to jim and nicks where my daughter and i had a great experience and our booth! So moms! If you and your little one want to bond and enjoy hibachi here be prepared to purchase your little one an entire hibachi meal or you will need to sit on the OTHER side and watch from afar!
Worst experience! My friend ordered chicken and steak hibatchi and was brought out shrimp and steak. She doesnt even eat shrimp! When we told our waitress she argued that she repeated the order and thats what she ordered. We told a manager what happened and she made excuses saying i heard another story from my waitress....My food was cold (we sat at a table not at the hibachi section. Just ridiculous service and poor quality food. Wish i could leave zero stars. They have lost a few customers forever! Beware!
Cindy the server was very rude and nasty, as well as one of those Hispanic chefs. Tried to apologize but was still rude with it. The Hispanic chef just stared at us very nastily. Manager was alright. The food was pretty good and our chef was very funny with some hilarious humor
The service was a complete failure. 50 minutes for a to go order makes no sense at all. The hostesses were carrying on with an inappropriate conversation in front of customers. They exercised no common sense. I asked for the manager and they told me ...shes making sushi. I shouldnt have had to tell her that her response to my request was not acceptable. They give you inadequate amounts of ginger so they can charge you an additional dollar for the amount of ginger they should have given in the first place. The sushi was decent- but not worth the foolishness. Tip for HaiHai- Dont play games with the customer, price the food accordingly in order to cover the expense of condiments.
Came here for dinner ordered filet with chicken and shrimp for two the chef came out in basketball shorts and no shirt under his coat and tennis shoes. He did nothing entertaining at all. Steak was good shrimp was over cooked and chicken was bland and inedible vegetables was wayyy over salted and covered my rice that was cold anyway cause it was done cooking way before anything else I told the waitress who asked for a discount due to almost the entire portion of 3 meals was left and the manager gave us a dollar off. When I asked to speak with him he was very rude and told me that if I didn’t like the food to go somewhere else... I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I will never return here in my life Taki might be more expensive but if I eat the food I pay for then it’s worth it
Normally Team Hai Hai- we have been going for years...however we will no longer be going to this restaurant anymore. When we went last night 1/28/18. Very disappointed in the service(waited 20 minutes for the chef) , the cleanness of the restaurant(dry cooked rice in the grill). The overall environment was just not festive. Found it odd that when I requested steamed rice , the older Chinese Waiter insisted that I eat fried rice! It has just been a overall decline in service and appearance. I dont know if it too many college student running the restaurant or what. They have lose us as Customers- I would NOT recommend this place.
Was asked to wait 30 mins to be served hibachi because no other customers were there to fill the seats. Staff was just sitting around on their phones. We left, wont go back. 2 stars because I dont know how the food was, dont feel comfortable giving 1 star without tasting.
Used to be a great. You can tell the owners havent reinvested in the business. Has gone way down hill. Service I thought was going to be good but it drastically went down hill. The cook didnt do a volcano and wasnt very attention to details. I will say he did throw the rice and we appreciated that. I felt bad for the server because she was having to cover 6 hibachi tables by herself. I dont reccomend hai hai anymore. They need to do a lot to be back at a operating level.
Not a fan of writing bad reviews.. however our service was not up to par. First of all the restaurant needs a very good cleaning and a face lift on customer relations. Was confronted about not leaving a tip and was told that if we didnt like her service that we didnt have to eat here.Well problem solved today was our last visit to Hai Hai, Takis is right across the street and they will be having are business moving forward. She didnt get a tip because she was rude, and ignored us when we asked about our soups that came out after we had our food cooked.Get it together hai hai, you lost repeat customers today.
The food the service and the atmosphere in this place is horrible!!!!! I ordered the crunch roll and it Was terrible! Don’t waste your time and money. We ask for the manager. There was a old Chinese waiter serving us. The waiter told us that the owner needed to come out. We thought to ourselves, why does the owner need to come out. The owner normally has a manager handling things like this. It took 15 minutes & the Owner never came out. That was a slap in the face. The waiter eventually came to the table and gave us our Bill. We will never come back to this place and will encourage anybody we know to never come back. This is how businesses fail. When you have customers that are so unhappy that they don’t just come back but encourage other people to not go. We came in to the restaurant extremely optimistic about having a great experience and left disappointed. I hope that the owner reads this and make changes as a result so that way people want to come to his restaurant.
This used to be the go to place for Hai Hai. But its not the same in recent years. Rice has come out under cooked more than once and the filet mignon isnt a filet like it should be. They still have good sushi. Prices are decent as well. The cooks doing performances during your wait has gone downhill. Used to be I would laugh and have fun watching these awesome shows. Now its rare to even see an egg go into the chef hat.
Glad we finally tried Hai Hai. We had actually gone to Taki, but they had a long wait, so we gave this place a try. You can choose to dine at a hibachi tables or a regular dine in table. We chose dine in since there wasnt a wait. Traditional dinners come with soup, small salad w/ginger dressing. We got the dinner for two which came with filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp. We paid the small up charge to get fried rice instead of steamed. Drinks, salad, & soup came quickly. Bit longer wait for our meal, but understandable being a busy Saturday night on Valentines weekend. Food was exellent!
This is the ABSOLUTE WORST restaurant in the area and certainly the worst Ive ever been to. We ordered our food to go and was told it would take about 15 mins. There were only 2 couples dining in also. It took exactly 46 minutes for them to bring out our food. During that time no one ever came to check on us or anything. I would have left if I hadnt already paid. We get home and the food looks disgusting and sloppy. I wish I could upload a photo. The salad is nothing but lettuce. Seriously nothing else. The base of the lettuce at that! The chicken was horrificly bland and the veggies were overcooked. I dont even know what this cup of dark water is... Im assuming soup. Needless to say we wont be back. This was a complete waste!
Came in at 5:20 tonight and was told if we wanted dine in to seat ourselves. We did. Then a menu was not brought to us for 5 minutes. Then we sat waiting to order AT LEAST drinks for 10 minutes and no one came to our table. Then we got up to leave hoping the hostess would ask what was wrong but instead she said “thanks have a good night”. Same hostess who just sat us down 20 minutes ago. And they weren’t even busy. Awful awful experience. Remaining loyal to Taki from now on.
I wish I could give zero stars. My boyfriend and I went there last night for my 21st birthday dinner. Upon arrival we were seated immediately in the dine in section and ordered soon after. We got calamari as an appetizer and we both ordered hibachi chicken and fried rice. We eventually got our food and I looked on my plate and saw 2 shrimp which I am highly allergic to. We waited over 15 minutes for him to come back and that was after we had to get his attention. He was very rude the whole time. We asked him to remake it without the shrimp because I could not eat it. He then proceeded to argue with us about it and how we didnt tell him ( which was a mistake on my part and i understand that) he told us we would have to pay another 13 for a new meal. Before he took my plate back he looked at it and only saw one shrimp and asked where the other one was and that he couldnt take it back because a shrimp was missing, which it was there because again, i cannot eat shellfish and my boyfriend didnt eat his either for my sake. He went to tell the cook to remake it and the cook came out and gave my boyfriend a look that could kill, so i told them to forget it and take it off the bill. He then comes to bring us our check and proceeds to drill me about my food allergy and how i can eat calamari but not shrimp as if i am . No two food allergies are the same for one and two, its none of your business. Needless to say we will never be going back and we will continue to tell all of our friends about the horrible experience we had there. This place needs to be shut down.
I am a very patient and understanding person but dealing with this place has been ridiculous! EVERY time weve eaten here there has been problems and they will not get any more chances from me. I placed a pick up order for sushi at 8:45pm and was told it would be ready 10-15mins....I figured they would need longer so I got there at 9:15pm. They then said it would be a few more minutes and billed my card. I understood so I waited. Well after seeing one table get sushi and another pick up order who got there after me, I ask how much longer and they said a few more minutes. Its 9:40ish, so I ask to buy two sweet teas....=$5.54 (I didnt say anything about theyre golden sweet tea...just said thank you and paid) they at about 9:50 I ask and hes still has to make two more rolls...and I ordered 5 total...at 8:45pm. So Im irritated but not causing a scene and I told them Ill be outside. At a little before 10pm a woman runs the food outside. No apologies, no Im sorry for the wait, nothing. AND to top it off she gave me 4 instead of the 5 we paid for. The most expensive of the 5 and the reason we went there for sushi in the first place. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere for sushi.
Really disappointed with the last service there. I spend a good bit of money everytime we visit. The sushi was not made the way it usually is. I was told the manager is the one who made it and the lady was out that night who usually makes the sushi so I asked for a call back and never recieved one. Poor customer service
Food was amazing!! The man that cooked for us was wonderful and catered to every request even those he found odd!! The only reason they didnt receive 5 stars was because the waiter chased my boyfriend down for a tip that was already received just handed directly to our cook.
The service was nice enough, but...> The tables were sticky>The tea kettle were grimy and leaked (and over priced for the quality)>Veggies tasted like they cooked yesterday, super chewy, dry and VERY salty> The spring rolls were overcooked to the extent that the inside was complete mush.>The rice was dry and cold.>Teriyaki sauce was oddly sweet and syrupy>Do not look at the ceiling>Giant fruit flies would not leave me alone during my mealand I find it completely rude when people point or look at you and then start talking in a another lauguage with seemingly angry tones, they could be talking about nothing or they could be talking about you....its just rude. So I know everybody has has good days and bad days, but I wouldnt really come here again.
Horrible! All reviews are horrible. We made reservations for 6:30. We made the reservations at 3:30 that afternoon. There were 18 of us for a 7year olds birthday party. After waiting 45 minutes they say they can sit 10 of us now, 8 of us in 25 minutes. What restaurant does that? Especially when you know there is a special occasion being celebrated?! We read the reviews and should have went with them. They are all negative!! Will never return! Thank you for showing us the Taki truley is a better restaurant ✌🏼️
I am/was a regular customer forgiving some inconsistancies because the food was usually good an well prepared, to night was the total opposite the service was bad the food not properly cooked and then the new steak sent out was a sirloin and not the filet I ordered ...roo many other issues to go in to. When o asked for a discount the manager said no that my akreadylostmoney because they sent out 3 steaks which was not my fault. So disappointed!! The manager would not come out and speak to me, shame on you!!
HEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO INSPECT!!!Hai hai was a favorite, but each time we went we saw something that made us question coming back. Each time we wonder about cross contamination. Their chefs use the same spatula during the entire cooking process. Theyll go From the raw meat to the cooked vegetables and back. Doesnt that spread bacteria? The best they do is wipe the spatula off with their seemingly dirty dish rag. This evening, my wife received a medium well FLY with her steak. The owner/manager had no apology and only offered to cook us another order. The employees only stood around looking confused. She even tried to take the plate and walk off when we began taking pictures of the fly on the plate. We will not visit this restaurant again, and we advise everyone to be cautious while eating there.
My girlfriend and I were eating at hai hai in Hiram and when we came to pay our bill was 29.50$ so I put down 30$ to just pay the bill , the waiter came and picked up everyone’s check and told me I needed to tip him and told me to tip him a minimum of 5$. Even tho he wasn’t that good considering everybody’s drink at the table went empty more then 2 times and had to ask for things multiple times. then when he brought the bill back he stood over me uncomfortably close intimidating me and watched me to make sure I tipped him . I will not be going back and not to mention there horrible health score.
I have been wanting Japanese Steakhouse for a while now. We decided today was the day. My fiance and I went to Hai Hai in Hiram because they have lunch prices all day. While we are sitting there our table and the table that joined ours began to fill up. All of a sudden a server brings out a vacuum and starts to use it beneath the grill of the adjoining table. I thought this was a little odd being as both tables were full of seated customers waiting on the chefs. After he leaves, a huge black cockroach runs out of the area he had been cleaning and makes a dash toward my foot as I was sitting at the end of the table. I notified a server about the situation. In the meantime one family got up and left. A different server comes over with a broom and dustpan and tries to sweep it into the dustpan but the roach ran under OUR grill! He keeps chasing it around with the broom. When he stops I asked him if it was still under there and he embarassingly replied yes. Of course I said hell no Im gone and we vacated the table and left. What surprised me the most was that the resturant didnt even seem surprised by any of it like it happens on a regular basis and looked at us like there was something wrong WITH us. I wouldnt suggest ANYONE eating there!
A cockroach ran across our table during the hibachi service and the staff all but ignored the situation. I tried three different employees but they just pretended that nothing had happened. Another customer killed it. It laid it the floor, dead. No one came to clean it up. Since the whole thing was ignored we were forced to just pay our bill and leave.
I can not eat seafood so I NEVER eat seafood so why would I order shrimp. I go in to do a togo order. Chicken and steak. I get home they face me steak and shrimp. I call no one answers. I get to the restaurant this morning they are refusing to redo my order or issue a refund.A year back my friend found a roach in her food and they blamed her for it yet it came off the hibachi. Don’t give these people your money.
I came to this restaurant maybe 3x and on my fourth visit, my lady requested no mushrooms and they said they were going to charge a $1 for taking me out. And then, when the cook came over, he said he would not cook if she requested no mushrooms again. So he refused to cook and stormed off. Food was always good but this customer service was terrible
Its pretty good. Definitely will satisfy a habachi craving for a lower price than Taki across the lane. for the price difference Im likely to choose hai hai over Taki every time even though I think takis food is a little better. Its not good enough to justify the price difference.
Their sushi is tiny and doesnt taste fresh. They got our order wrong, claimed it wasnt, and then when the realized they had, offered no compensation and charged us for their screw-up. Other customers who were not being waited on were walking out. Then, they had an error on our bill. We gave them multiple tries, but we wont be going back to Hai Hai again.
The food not so good and the service was HORRIBLE! Our waitress was rude and never brought us a drink. She then wanted to bully us because we didn’t leave enough tip for. Even to the extent of following us to the door shouting! Will never go back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!
Wouldnt even give it a 1 star. W have been a couple of times to give the benefit of the doubt. Service has always been horrible. The dinner for two that is supposed to be Fillet is no way fillet it was Strip or sirloin!!! Better of paying the additional and trying the Austell one!Pay for what you get right!
This was the worst place I have ever been to get Japanese. For one I ordered Chicken and Steak and for some reason the lady swore that I said Shrimp but y would I order Shrimp if I don’t even like Shrimp and then she was very rude and told me I was wrong and the food was cold like it had been sitting forever
Ive been going to haihai frequently for the past year or so and you never know what youre getting with them. Some days its good and some days its terrible but after this experience Ill never go back again. I went to haihai with a couple of friends and the food was terrible and so was the service but, to top it off the receipt said it came out to be 18.06 and I used a brand new 25 dollar gift card to pay for it. I checked the balance online and it only had 3.07 left. HAI HAI IS TERRIBLE BAD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, AND BAD AT MATH. If you want good hibachi go to Taki across the street.
Visited this place for lunch......typical Japanese steak house.......serving the same typical food...... lettuce only salad, broth soup, your choice of steamed or fried rice and chicken......the food wasnt bad, nor was it great...... waitress was friendly and courteous...... it will be a while before I visit another Japanese steak house.
Was one of the parties that left in disgust over the cockroach incident mentioned in another review. Staff didnt seem particularly surprised or concerned about the roach. If they react like that in front of the customers, whats going on in back, where you cant see? Never again!
Food was okay but if I could leave zero stars I would for the simple fact , our waitress pushed my ONE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER thats not okay at all , do not push somebody elses child , service was horrible with her & when we go to leave she had the nerve to get in my face and DEMANDS a better tip .I will never be back to this place .

2022-06-21Worth my money. I took my wife and two toddlers out to eat sushi here and was very satisfied. Our waiter was amazing, punctual, knowledgeable and on point. The food, everything we tasted was delicious and kept us wanting to come back. Also, the environment was very clean and sanitary which I appreciate very much.

2022-02-26My family just left this place. We had 4 adults one 11 year old and two babies under 2. When we received our ticket to pay, they had added the suggested tip it was 18.97 for two adults one 11 year old and two babies that didnt eat. Bringing our total over 100.00. Now I will gladly pay for my food but the waiter/manager/ owner (one man.. him) says its policy. I said this isnt right. He got mad and started telling me dont come back. Mister you wont ever have to worry about that. No one will FORCE me to pay you a tip like that again. Yes I paid the whole thing. But Im thinking of disputing this with my bank. He was rude and acted like I did something wrong by asking why I had to pay his suggested amount. What if I would like to leave only $10 tip? DONT GO UNLESS YOUR WILLING TO PAY THE SUGGESTED AMOUNT FOR THE TIP! And the owner is NOT a people person!!!

2022-07-30We went with our family for late lunch. We arrived at 4. We asked if we were I. Time for lunch. The hostess told us we were. We waited 20 minutes to be seated. We were seated at 4:23. An older gentleman came over to take our order 7 minutes later but saw we had lunch menus and said oh, it’s 4:30. It’s dinner prices now. When we tried to explain we had waited 20 minutes in the lobby and almost 10 at the table, he was rude and said it was dinner prices. If they had been truthful when we asked, it wouldn’t have been an issue. If the server hadn’t been so rude, it may not have been an issue for us. But this place is not cheap and we just didn’t feel good about spending over $100 at a place that clearly has no appreciation for its customers.

2022-07-06This is the worst severice I have had in a long time. Our waiter, who i think is the manager, was so rude to my family. The service was a zero until the waiter delivered the receipt. At this time he decided to act nice. I left him a tip that was understandably below 15% (8% he shouldnt have gotten that) and he literally came out to my car to explain he needed more!! I have never had an experience like this. Unprofessional!! If you want to save yourself from being upset go to another sushi restaurant in the area. Youve been warned. ⚠️

2022-03-17I placed an order for sushi, the man over the phone had terrible customer service. He didn’t want to answer any questions about the menu/food, he told me just come in, then rushed me off the phone. Placed the order, I then paid over $30 in sushi, I asked for some Spicy Mayo, they then tried to charge me $1.00 ea for small these extremely small to go containers, and only gave me 2 small to go packets of soy sauce for over 32 pieces of sushi. I get home and the sushi is terrible! All rice, no filling, and it taste like nothing, it literally has no flavor. Not even with soy sauce. I’m NOT satisfied with the FOOD, I mean if going to have bad service the food should be amazing!! I’m NOT satisfied with the customer service!!! I’m NOT satisfied with how they treated me. I would NOT suggest spending your hard earned money here. I would 10/10 NOT recommend!!! And If I could give no stars, that’s what they would receive!

2022-08-07The absolute WORST customer service you’ll EVER receive. Stay away from HENRY, stay away from the “manager” and stay away from this place altogether. Henry (our “server” who did a horrible job at serving) stood over everyone at our table as we filled out our receipts to pay (that we waited 15 minutes to receive from him). He would look to make sure you tipped when he picked up the receipt. Henry really deserved $0.00 for the terrible job he did, and I only tipped 25% because of the cook. When he saw that my friend’s 17 year old niece did not leave a tip, he demanded that she tip him and said she is never welcome here again. He told her he will never wait on her and for her to not return. I felt so bad seeing the look on her face as she was confused, felt ashamed, and embarrassed. When we asked this older man if the manager or owner was here he said no and then the same man said he was the manager. He laughed at us when we expressed our very valid concerns, and when we said his waiter needed to apologize for talking to a minor like that. He did nothing. This place just needs to be shut down already. Look at all the horrible reviews about customer service yourself. These servers will literally follow you to your car and demand tips! Something has to be done. Save yourself the time, money, and disappointment you’ll receive. Try Taki, try Miyako, try ANY hibachi place but this one.

2022-07-21First and last time. My and my sister both feel so sick after eating here. And the waiter (older gentleman) kept rushing us first with ordering. I’d never been here and didn’t have time to look at the menu he kept coming back for some reason in a hurry to get my order, and then after eating, he immediately kept asking if we were done with our food when there was still sushi on the plate and after paying, tried to take my water cup that I was still drinking out of. Just weird service and now I feel sick. Won’t be back.

We thought it was just temporary, however it appears thats not the case. We miss you Hia Hia and hope you will someday open up again on Sundays. You were the best around and we sure miss you. 😥

2022-07-22I love Hai Hai’s food. But I’ve seen multiple reviews about their waiter being rude here. Everytime we go we have a waiter named Henry. He’s always so passive aggressive and pushy. This time he raised his voice at me for asking a simple question, I will ask for someone different from now on.
