This may be a little long so hopefully you will see why if you read this . I have a Yorkshire Terrier puppy and Dr Zach was the first to examine him I am very skeptical so I didnt belive everything Dr Zach told,me at first she told me that my Benni at 4 months old had retained testicles along with Hernia that could get worse I thought she was trying to get me for money I even checked around at different Vets to make a long story short Dr Zach was dead on the money not only was her price extremely reasonable but when Benni reached 7 months old she preformed his surgery for a cost that most would not do it. The surgery went well my poor Benni had his testicles in two different locations which is rare but Dr Zach did it.......... On top of that without the office staff knowing of the crazy year I had my husband facing serious medical problems and Mom having cancer plus many other things that I never told this office they showed me compassion and so much love for Benni it made me feel that Dr Zach and her staff are Heros without knowing it...Thank you very Much I dont tell my story to many but people need to know what a Great office this is and what a Great doctor you are!!
Our family has trusted Dr. Zak and the staff with our 2 dogs and 2 cats for over 5 years. They are never too busy to answer any questions we might have and we always feel very welcome when we come in.Dr. Zak and her staff are wonderful. We were shocked and amazed when she helped our young cat overcome kidney and liver failure a few years ago.I would recommend this practice to anyone who wants to work with a vet practice that has an endless supply of knowledge, compassion and exceptional customer service!
Ive been placing my Corgis and now Cat in Dr. Tara Zaks care since 2009. Dr. Zak is an animal lover and a people person. She & her Staff are seasoned professionals with a true affection and deep knowledge of caring for animals. I trust them, without question, to take care of all of my babies! Highly recommended!
Dr. Zak and her staff are the BEST!! She is punctual, personal, and very intelligent. Dr. Zak is very thorough with her diagnostics. She spends time to discuss treatment options and is not pushy at all. A year ago my dog Shelby had a knee injury, we saw a vet in the vacation are that we were staying. They recommended a very expensive procedure to correct the problem. I hesitated came home and consulted Dr. Zak. She confirmed that my research on google said that the prceesure is for dogs over 40lbs ... Since Shelby weighed 26 I had felt that it was a bit over the top. Dr zap recommended a orthopedic surgeon and the proceedure was 2000. Less than the other vet.Within 2 weeks Shelby was back jumping on the couch ans going up and down stairs. I cant thank Dr. Zak enough for her recommendations. The office is very clean and you feel right a home. I appreciate the Dr. And staff at Hamilton Plaza; they are the best!
Tried to order Bravecto for my Lab Hunter on Chewy.com... waited several days and finally Chewy emailed me and said they could not get approval... I called my former Vet and they told me they will not approve online med orders... Absolutely ridiculous and poor customer service.I explained to them that I just moved 2 hours away, and Hunter is all up to date on his shots thru them, he was just there a couple months ago for his heart worm prevention shot. So now I have to take Hunter to a new Vet and pay for another visit just to get Bravecto... so much for caring about the health of an animal first!Sad....
Our fur babies mean everything to us do we wouldn’t just trust anyone with their well-being. Dr Zac and her team are phenomenal. They don’t just care, they love every pet. We are so grateful we have them for all they do in keeping our pets healthy. We love you all! ❤️🐶🐶🐶❤️
If I could give a ten star rating I would. I cannot say enough nice things about this vet and her team.Starting with the vet - Tara, she is super smart, caring and has always been willing to take the time to truly make me understand what is going on with my babies. She has nursed them back to health after the emergency clinic in Buford had almost lost one of the girls. She has been working tirelessly to pin down what is going on with one of my poodles (shes getting better day by day). And then there is the team - gosh, Ive only been going there about 5 years, but they all feel like family. You can tell that they truly care what happens to your babies and they are always so caring and gentle with them.I dont live near the clinic, it is about 45 minutes from my house, but she and her staff are definitely worth the drive.
We just picked up our dog from the boarding facility. It was our first time boarding him and we were concerned especially since he’s kind of a nervous dog and he has been having problems with allergies. They were very communicative and accommodating. He looked great when we picked him up and I can tell that he had a good time. They’re very affordable as well. You should give them a shot.P.S.- In terms of healthcare, they do take exotic pets, which can be hard to find.
This hospital was the best one I’ve been to by far. I had to take my cat in because she sprained her paw. They were great with her and kept us both calm during the whole procedure. Just a great friendly, and professional staff. If something else comes up with Butter Ball, they are my first choice.
We have four pets being cared for by Dr. Zak and the staff at Hamilton Plaza Animal Hospital. All of our experiences thus far have been a joy, from basic exams and vaccinations to kenneling. Prices are very reasonable and competitive. Having such a convenient location close to our home is the icing on the proverbial cake.
Dogs got sick. Ear infection. And diarrhea. Didnt treat till we picked them up.and they new this was going onPlus they raised the rates without telling usNever will I takey Chocolate Labs again. They are all about adding on to the billAfter our regular vet bill for there sickness thereOur bill total wes 600.00 Dollars. Total .Never take your dogs there .For 7 days stayVery disappointing
Our experience here has been disappointing and feel compelled to share so others dont have to go through what we had to go through. I dropped off both my morkies for a groom. one is 10 lbs and one is 5 lbs and are brother and sister. The vet here is hardly ever actually on site and has here staff manage this business and admin meds without the vets physical presence. When things go wrong, pics are sent to vet and they take corrective actions.....really? so both dogs we were told they needed multiple vaccines in order to stay there to be groomed. Dogs are very small and both have never had any allergic reaction before, but both had severe reactions. They called us to tell us and said the larger dog was given counter meds and the smaller dog was fine and both ready to be picked up. Dogs were not better, both peed, diarrhea and smaller dog was shaking, skin red and hot, eyes blood shot. We had to take to another vet and have counter meds given. after 18 hours dogs seem to be doing better. Why is vet not on site? Is it legal or right to try and run this business remotely? why on gods green earth would you not do everything in your power to return my dogs the way they were dropped off - 100% healthy? Why do I need to spend $400 for two dogs to be groomed and have shots, then almost lose both of them, occur another $300 at different vet to fix the issues from the first vet? Why when my wife calls to say our smaller dog is not doing well (10 mins after pickup) we were told why would you come back here after your husband wrote a bad review on our facebook page? Never will go here again and suggest you dont risk your pets life.
There are not really words to express how poor our experience was with Dr. Zak and how much pain our dog went through as a result of her poor care.To begin with we brought our dog to her after she was limping badly and appeared to have injured her front foot. My wife told her that she felt there was a problem with the pad of her foot and after the exam Dr. Zak indicated there was nothing wrong with the paw and felt she may have pulled a muscle or had some sort of soft tissue injury that would heal. So, we paid for doggie ibuprofen and and watched her worsen for another week.As she began to seriously try to walk with the paw held in the air we returned to Dr. Zak again asking for something to be done. This time Dr. Zak indicated they did not see anything last time and that x-rays would be the only way to find out if it was something more serious. Of course we did not want to risk our dog having a fracture we did not treat so she did the x-rays. The result... she could not see anything wrong? Again, she suggested may be some form of arthritis (our dog is getting older) or that we could try an even more expensive MRI? As the bill for the two visits and medication rose over $400 we opted for not doing the MRI but paid for the steroids suggested to help with the arthritis or tissue injury.Following another week of watching our dog suffer in pain we finally took to inspecting her paw ourselves (she has very furry feet and we combed through the fur on each toe) only to find an obvious infection and scab at the base of her nail! So, after going to Dr. Zak from 8/23 to 9/15 we discovered the cause of immense pain for our beloved dog.So, I called the office and spoke with the receptionist about how upset we were that our pet was in pain, we paid for two visits, including unnecessary xrays, and it was something that should have been seen the very first visit if she was examined thoroughly! The receptionist agrees that was terrible and offered to examine and offered to treat her for free. She also told me Dr. Zak would call my wife within a couple hours to discuss the issue. That was at 8:32 am ... after hours without a call from the doctor my wife finally got in to see the doctor and it only got worse from there. Although the receptionist offered to treat her for free the doctor said that the exam was free and actually shaved her paw to examine it without permission (we were told the dog was only going back to be weighed) to confirm yes, it indeed was an infection in her nail and that we would need to pay for it.My wife told her that we paid for unnecessary xrays and asked for a copy of them which the doctor told her they did not xray the paw when I brought her back, just the clavicle area... something that was not mentioned when I brought the dog because her condition worsened and she was struggling to put her paw on the ground. The doctor eventually gave us a disk and indicated the xrays were on there (we were taking the dog to another vet for a 2nd opinion) but guess what happened when the other vet put the disk in... empty! It is bad enough that we were encouraged to consider treatments for our suffering pet when a decent initial evaluation of her paw would have seen the scabs (which amazingly made it to the report we got from the vet) and considered it may be the cause of the pain our pet was feeling. But, whats worse is that our dog suffered for weeks unnecessarily and the best Dr. Zak could do is claim our disgust and upset reaction was not appropriate! If you would like to come by and see our dogs paw please email me, I will be glad to not only show you her injury, but, the two different reports the vet gave us explaining it and the empty x ray disk!Buyer beware.... what you pay for may not be needed and may be a result of sloppy examinations!
Love coming here , and I know my cat low key does too. Everytime I have emergency with my cat they are never too busy and they are so quick Im usually out of there in like 1/2 hour. I definately recommend this to anyone thats looking for a doc for the furrbabies and I love how its always the same staff, so they really know my pet
I found an abandoned kitty who we named Ray Lily. Her fur was all matted and dirty, and dry in spots. She was one sick kitty and smelled horrible. The staff there was really helpful in cleaning her up and helping get her back healthy. I would trust my kitty with them any time!
So unhappy with my last visit. After a service was provided and the Dr came to talk to me I tried answering her questions and she cut me off three times completing my sentences for her advantage. If we can communicate we cant do business together.Secondly, after EVERY service provided I was charged more than the price originally given to me. I understand that sometimes problems happened and charges needed to be added. Not in my case. Very unhappy.
Really disappointed. Thy werent bothering to use any type of infectious disease mitigation during a time when Georgias COVID cases were skyrocketing...no masks, no social distancing, nothing. Ive moved my friends to a vet that understands biology and listens to scientists.
Not worth the time or money to go here for shoddy workmanship. A foster dog is now going to need extensive care for a problem that should not have occurred with a dental procedure to begin with should suture material have been placed, and this clinic has offered nothing more than a free exam. They also blamed our refusal of other services on her mouth, when said services had nothing to do with the dental.
This woman is horrible! Don’t take your beloved fur babies to this torture chamber! Animals can’t talk so I am speaking on behalf of all of the abused animals who have been so mistreated at this woman’s hands. Staff is trained to treat all of these animals horribly. Groomers included
The atmosphere in this vets office is amazing the staff is super friendly and super nice they even have a kids playroom The vet is amazing she always answers all questions and takes her time with your dog or your cat I highly recommend this place you should definitely check them out soon
BEWARE!!In that search for a highly reputable vet, I came across this place. After going there for nearly a month, I am very disappointed by the management team.As a new client and new dog owner, I was never explained the procedure of the services until it was too late.At the end of June I initially brought my dog to this vet to get her next dose of shots and a wash. During this time I paid for flea, tick and heart worm medicine and unbeknownst to me it was never administered to my dog and never given to me at that time of payment. I received a call 3 weeks later in which they informed me they had her medicine at the office. I was under the impression that she was given the medicine but the manager proceeded to explain to me the procedure of how they give it to the owner, yet I never received it but paid for it. Now the medicine that she was suppose to be given is invalid because she is over the weight limit. What’s ironic about this situation is that a week after her initial visit, I brought her in to get checked for fleas and was told about another medicine for fleas (which I brought). I went home, looked at the medicine that I paid for the week before and called them about the discrepancy of me buying two medicine for flea treatment within a weeks time. Instead of telling they never gave me the medicine from the initial visit they issued me a credit.I will not be back at this place because they are eager to take money, without services being rendered and ready for me to leave once I have paid. Their willingness to give out credits in order to rectifying the situation in order to pacify me to keep coming back is absurd. Please be aware the high level reviews that they have received does not match the quality of services and professionalism that I received. This became very apparent to me as I was rushed out of the office when I was reviewing my receipt after getting her last dose of shots a few days ago.

2021-04-27This was my first visit to this particular vets office and it was for a very sudden emergency situation with my tiny pup. I tried calling 4 other vets before this one including her usual vet and was not able to be seen. I called Hamilton Plaza and was able to get in the same day. I got my pups evaluation and medicine that I am sure prevented a much more serious situation from developing. My pup is only 2lbs and almost any illness needs immediate attention. I am very pleased with the treatment she received and will return here for her and my other pets.

2020-10-08Since moving down here Dr. Zach and her staff took good care of our beloved pet. When it was time for his transition they were very patient and gave us the time we need to say our goodbyes. Dr Zach never pressured us but definitely educated and answered all questions and actually took up the time. I would say that my only issue would be lack up follow ups after visits but my assumption is they are always busy.

2020-07-08Our babies love Dr. Zack and staff. Recently we had our 19+ tuxedo cat in to see Dr. Zak. He had an infection in his mouth but he was purring away when he saw the staff and Dr. Zak. She was gentle with our old man, Oreo. We left with medication and after a week we see an improvement in Oreo. We also had our 80 pound husky, Diesel, for his booster shots on Monday 7/6/20. Diesel was so excited we he got in the car to go to see Dr. Zak. He got to see all the girls and the kitties and heard some dogs too. He is always happy to go even when he gets his booster shots. He knows Dr. Zak and staff will take good car of him. Diesel, Oreo and Fidget give Dr. Zak and staff 5 paws (5 stars!).

2019-04-19This is the best veterinarian around. Dr. Tara Zak is an awesome veterinarian she is very compassionate about all of the animals that she sees. Dr. Tara Zak is genuine and honest. I have been bringing my pups here for 9 years. If I were to move 250 miles away I would drive just to take my pups to see her and the staff are phenomenal.
