What Eric created at Hardcore Tennis is way more than a Tennis Store. Ive been getting my racquets and pretty much all my tennis supplies with him since I started playing tennis. His friendly and knowledgeable advises has helped me tremendously regardless if Im at the store buying something, or just hanging out. Thank you Eric for all these years of friendship.
Ive never been disappointed. Hardcore Tennis is for the tennis fanatic in all of us. Eric is knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely helpful. The stores congenial atmosphere is a welcome change from the other multi-store outlets in the Atlanta area. These guys actually care about the customer.
LOVE this place, i live in Cumming and drive all the way down here just to get all my gear, and rackets re stung. Iv had my rackets strung at other places that are just down the road from me and take a fraction of the time to get to, but still i will always come here. the quality in everything they do is a night and day difference between other shops. They give advice based off of personal experience, and not just what everyone else says. Again i love this Shop and it forever has my business.
I continue to send my racquets to Eric for two reasons: 1) the quality of effort he puts into my gear is “top-notch”, and 2) he listens to my requests and he KNOWS what to do! After 5 years, I am still confident Eric is keeping me outfitted with the very best, most comfortable and responsive racquets I could ask for. Thanks Hardcore Tennis!
Eric knows everything about the game of tennis. Just ask him he will tell you! Okay I will start by saying I have been going here for 5 years. For the first 4, I would have given 5 stars. I bought a few racquets and religiously had my racquet strung there usually twice a year. Advice and service was good until the last year for some reason. Maybe Eric got enough business not to care, but you can be the judge. It started this year when I went in to buy another racquet. Eric started telling me about a solinco (although they only had last years model in every manufacturer) and I was interested. After blowing me off I finally asked if he knew the price. He didnt so I asked him to look it up (as I was a willing and able buyer). He said not now and proceeded to help someone else. Figuring he had a bad day, I came back after buying a racquet from somewhere else. I decided to go with the same string I had Eric do on other racquets. He promised it would be done at 5:15 so my wife could get it after work. My wife arrives, and low and behold it wasnt even started yet. Flippantly Eric strung it while ignoring her and watching tennis on TV. I decided that the feel wasnt just right so Eric talked me into natural gut strings which are the most expensive. I elected to go with Pacific 17 gauge natural gut strings. Again he promised it would be ready that day after work. My wife arrives there to him saying he was frustrated cause he broken a string while stringing it. 30 minutes later he finishes it and she is on her way. When I go to tennis practice that night while on the bench the strings break. Low and behold, he used a multifilament where the gut broke and tried to rig my racquet with over 6 knots! When I called him the next day he said, I wasnt about to open a new pack. How about giving me natural gut when that is what i paid for? I go back to have it redone. I was pleased to see it was ready, but I noticed he used a Legend string which was 16 gauge strung at 55lbs! The other was a 17 gauge Pacific string at 52! Obviously a much different feel. When called the next day Eric questioned how I could possibly know the difference like I wasnt a good enough player. He said he would call when he got more 17 gauge in which was over 3 weeks ago. Oh and sorry was never uttered from his mouth, just disgust that I even called.I am done with this place. Im glad Eric has enough business to treat loyal customers like they dont deserve what they spent their hard earned money on. He has a terrible attitude. I have referred over 5 people there, and they all have decided not to return. One of the guys on my team had a similar story. If you decide to go, good luck. Customer service here is dead.
Two things I remember about this place1) I was sold a racquet that had a racquet size of like 85 while I’m basically a beginner2) he offered to sell it for me. I don’t live in the area and was in town and gave them my racquet to sell. They couldn’t sell it and was going to send it.That was circa 5 years ago. The guy is the “used car salesman” of tennis shops.
Take your rackets here. Dont take them to a big box store, youll likely get someone who doesnt really care and/or does not understand what they are doing. The staff at Hardcore actually know what they are doing and do an excellent job for about the same cost as a big box sporting goods store.
My first time at Hardcore Tennis was this week. I broke an old racquet, and found this spot on Google. They went above and beyond expectations to fit me with a new racquet based on my playing style. I demoed two of them in the evening, called the next morning and left a message about what I wanted.Eric from HT sent me an email minutes later asking some basics about strings, tension, etc. and he had it ready for me by 11AM that same day! They have a customer for life!Chris
This is a great place to get your racquet re-strung or to buy a new racquet. Stinging can usually be done in 30 - 60 minutes while you wait & watch tennis on the big screen. The stringing job is first rate, and they can help you determine which string is best for your playing style. For buying new racquets, their advice is very helpful, everyone in the store is friendly. and they are not tennis snobs. Pricing is competitive with what you will pay on the internet warehouse sites. They also have a variety of demos you can use to determine what racquet is best for you. In short, this is the best tennis store Ive been in, and i will continue to return here for my tennis needs.
HT, What the Hell in very good way !!! I ran across this spot one Sunday afternoon drinking a beer at the neighboring bar. They were closed. On a Saturday I passed by on my way to Gwinnett County I made the U turn and now I realize it was the best U turn ever. Walked in HT and was greeted my UMMM! forgot his name but he was the new guy so I will call him the new guy NG. NG asked how can I help and I told him I wanted more spin and power I was looking for Black Widow string he looked me dead in the eyes and said you do not need or want that unless you want tennis elbow. (Damn sure dont want that but is NG trying to make a sale??? )NG suggested I use a Synthetic Gut along with poly. (true Hybrid strung in 45 min). I went along with NG suggestion and I have not lost a match yet. 6-4 6-2, 6-3 6-1,6-1 6-4. By NG suggesting hybrid combinations of string, I was able to fine-tune the play ability, comfort, durability, liveliness and control. Excellently what I wanted.Great Job NG and Hardcore Tennis.PS: Tennis Gear prices are unbelievable.
I frequently talk to other tennis players who get racquets strung at some big box sporting goods store and then complain about their sticks and strings. What they should do instead is visit Eric at Hardcore Tennis for expert advice and recommendations from pros who have decades of tennis experience. Need a new jockstrap or sports bra? Go to Sports Authority. Need sticks, strings, and tennis gear? Hardcore Tennis is the place.I also gave Eric a bagel and a French fry for Christmas last year.

2022-02-08I am really enjoying tennis as a newbie so I was looking to upgrade from my Walmart racket. Eric was so patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest. He offered two rackets and recommended I go with the cheaper one that was 50% of the other one given similar quality and only difference was that one was used (looked to be in good condition). You can tell he has pure love for the sport, and he is not about profits. He loves the sport, and he is an ambassador who just wants others to love tennis, too. He set me up with new strings, a new grip, and I left more passionate and excited about tennis because of him. Hes a great guy and very humble. Definitely made a loyal customer out of me and I would recommend him and his shop to anyone--even if youre a newbie like me.

2021-02-24Great store & service. My girlfriend & I just started playing tennis & Eric gave us really good advice & helped us pick out good quality racquets. You can tell when someone is trying to be nice to just sell you a product, but Eric was really genuine & I felt like I knew him for years. He didn’t care about the sale, as much as he cared about us just getting started & having a good experience. One of the best places to go to for advice, as well. Will definitely go back!

2020-09-13Eric was very hospitable and incredibly knowledgeable. I was looking to get my racquet restrung but couldnt decide on the type of strings to get. He patiently listened to what I was looking for and the kind of game I played and made suggestions. I could not be happier! He delivered 100%! Also, my racquet was ready to go in just a couple of hours! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to buy racquet or strings or just a good conversation about tennis! Thanks Eric!

2022-03-09Stopped in to get my racket to Restrung and to buy a New racquet . One feel of my racquet and Eric knew exactly what to recommend. After the second racquet..: I was in love. The service was phenomenal, both Jonathan and Eric worked on my racquets, and I was in and out within the hour. Thanks for the care and being great at what you do. Until next time.

2020-05-21Great service, above and beyond expectations! Reasonable price for stringing rackets. No crooked strings. Excellent accommodation for sanitation. The last thing Eric did before finishing the job was thoroughly disinfect each racket.

2017-03-25Eric is a great guy. Very nice, helpful, and quite knowledgeable about the stuff he sells. Tennis oriented store, but my friend and I went there for squash gear and he was able to help as out as well. We were treated very nicely and he gave some us some great tips on the game and gear! He carries high quality stuff at great price too.

2019-04-10Eric is one of the most knowledgeable tennis players I know. He took the worry out of all the technical things behind tennis and outfitted my racket with the perfect strings with the perfect tension for my playing style. Ill definitely be going to him anytime I need new strings or even a new racket.

2015-11-22After becoming frustrated with all of the chain tennis stores due to their lack of knowledge, I decided to give Hardcore Tennis a visit. Eric is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met with regards to any and all tennis equipment. He will give you honest advice without trying to push you to purchase anything. All around great knowledge and service. Give Hardcore Tennis a visit if you are looking for the equipment and advice to take your game to the next level.
