Harolds Chicken & Ice Bar in other cities:
I have only been in the daytime so I cannot attest to the vibes at nite or in the 21 & up room. So I always get the catfish & shrimp. Sometimes the batter is not as seasoned as other times! Also, the atmosphere in the daytime is not really welcoming. The food is decent. The happy hour drinks were ok. It’s one of those places you go to when you don’t have anywhere else to go.
I went to Harold’s for a birthday celebration. The experience was horrible. Our server was rude as hell. I went to the manager to complain. She didn’t do anything about the situation. The server came back to me and told me that she knew I had talk to her manager about her. She went on and on. I was so upset about how the situation was handle. Harold’s should be ashamed of themselves
What can I say this is my second time going here Im originally from Chicago one they never have pizza puffsbut on the menu why. Two horrible customer service the host was gone from her stand for 25 to 30 minutes every time she left to make matters worse I made two orders together she brought me one order and then the other one didnt come out until an hour after the fact this is not for me that was my second time and last time there nothing like the real Harolds Chicken. Thank God for the waitress she is the one who end up making sure I got my order and the other people as well. I didnt get her name but she was great.
First time at this location the service was good but the wait was very long. With a party of 10 it took a hour for everyone to get their food. It wasnt to crowded & masks were worn by the staff but just an unusually long wait for the food. The good was good once we got it though. Hopefully next v time the wait wont be as long.
Update: Issue resolved. Thank you Angel and Daymond. The manger that put me on hold for 20 minutes and who tried to argue with me doesn’t need to work in the service industry.Bring cash if you come here! My card was charged an additional fee after my bill was paid (gratuity already included in the bill). Called to resolve the issue and they told me it would be fixed. After it wasn’t I called back and was put on hold for 20 minutes. Hung up after a 20 minute hold now they aren’t picking up. To charge someone’s card AFTER you’ve paid is fraud!
This place has a nice club/bar vibe, premium drinks are on point but gotta pay that $15 price tag. I read some of the reviews that were a hit or miss but my experience was a good one. Server made sure to check every couple minutes and the chicken wings and fries were too notch. Ill be coming back again when Im in the area.
Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar in Atlanta is it!!! The chicken is SO GOOD! You can eat, drink, and party all in the same place! It’s such a good time! Everybody that I have taken here wants to go back each and every time! I want you to come too, so I hope that you find this review helpful! I ordered the catfish with white meat. Pictures, you see a piece of catfish, a breast, a wing, and some fries. It was AMAZING! I love the one in this area, Marietta, because there’s more than enough room for parking, unlike the one on Edgewood. 🙃If you’re looking for chicken, and you’re in the Atlanta area, come eat, drink, and party at Harold’s!For more, follow @hoodgirlstravel on Instagram!
First time at any Harolds in Atlanta. The vibe is fun. Restrooms were clean on this day. The employees were friendly. My server was fun and nice but kept forgetting things and never refilled our waters. Music is hype. I absolutely love the sweet potato tots with the brown sugar sauce that goes with it. I’d come back for that alone. My friends said their cocktails and mixed drinks were good. But the food came out hot. I went around 630 on a Wednesday.
I ordered a 6 piece wing with fries . The biggest mistake was adding lemon pepper seasoning , even though I always do . The chef last night poured so much seasoning on everything , we couldn’t eat our food . Our waitress said because of the food shortage there was nothing they could do , there was lemon pepper seasoning literally covering the bottom of my little food tray . I’m from Chicago , I love Harold’s but this just ruined my taste buds . I don’t have to eat Harold’s for a while . We paid over $30 for our meals , I think It’s unfair we couldn’t enjoy our food ! I would love for a manager to respond / reach out & fix this honestly .
Angel, Lenasia, and DJ Conversation were absolutely amazing and made my aunts 40th super lit, even with 12 people! When I didnt like my drink Angel calmly gave me something else and I am very grateful 😌I love that my family had a great time and the wings were bomb. I took a whole tray home lol
I love supporting businesses but it took 50 freaking minutes to get my food. After I asked TWICE to place a to go order. And NO it was no packed. Chicago takes less time and anyone thats from chicago know thats saying something. This business is very personable but they need to figure out how to add professionalism in there and hire some people. Im not kin to anyone or from here so this is my honest opinion...Food was good but the whole experience made it less enjoyable
Being a Chicago native who recently relocated to Georgia I was excited to visit. It was a lot of fun, the DJ played house music and was awesome, the ambience and people. The food was not bad. It was better than I expected but it was not exactly like Chicago. I really enjoyed myself and will be back
Stopped in during the week midday, needless to say no crowd which wasnt an issue. Greeted by a friendly waitress, she took our order and brought out the food. Now, I was expecting to be blown away because my lunch date (a chicken connoisseur) raved about how good it was and just the name alone from other Chi-town natives (they claim its the holy grail). Well, it was the usual and but the sauce ( the name slips my mind not the hot sauce)actually made it better..imo. But, I feel it was just okay, maybe it was a bad batch, I will give them another chance. Maybe the after work or weekend crowd is better. See for yourself though, we all have different tastebuds.*posted on other platforms
Chicken good, didnt care to much for fish! Service and driknks great! Try the strawberry Hennessey. Although I had a friend from Chicago had questions. Due to she is from Chicago. They do their chicken different she said. Asked for manager she never came over to speak. She did speak with other customers. That was rude to us,but over all CJ our bartender was awesome!
Had a great time with friends but babyyyyy let me tell you. The food was mediocre at best. I’m sorry I really wasn’t impressed. I ordered fries and fried tomatoes. The fries were barely seasoned (could’ve used seasoning salt or at least have some on the table) and the fried tomatoes were spicy. I’m not sure why. Not to mention one of our friends ordered two margaritas that totaled around $50-$60. That’s pretty expensive for drinks that’s were just okay. On a lighter note our server was nice and the music was knocking. Not sure I would visits again but I guess it’s all about experiencing new things.
Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar is really good. If you want some good fried chicken, fish, shrimp... 🗣GO TO HAROLD’S!!! Their chicken reminds me of some good southern fried chicken when though they are based out of Chicago (from my understanding). Their drinks are really strong too. Today, the bartender/bar manager Angelo recommended a Strawberry Hennessy and it was sooooooo good - it will not be my go to drink at Harold’s. It was a little pricey ($15) but it was worth it. Dionda, the server, was really good. She said she was new but I couldn’t tell bc she was handling so many tables at once and she didn’t miss a beat. For the longest this location was running out of coleslaw but i was so happy when they had it today bc they literally have some of the best coleslaw I’ve had!
This is the WORST PLACE we have ever ordered from! My husband ordered 24 pieces of mixed wings with fries drove 20 minutes to pick up and 20 minutes back just to find out the fries were missing, mind you this was going to be a quick dinner before putting our kids to bed. I tried calling the restaurant to prepare them for my arrival but no one answered the phone(we called like 8 times).I get there now my chicken is cold, it already smelled like dirty oil but now its also cold, I told the waitress I just at this point would like a refund, she says fine and takes the chicken to the back with her, then comes back with fries after like 10 minutes and says I cant do a refund because the order isnt ALL the way messed up but I added two large fries, I told her I dont want that. (Why would you disappear with the food then come back and try to give it to me STILL COLD!!!) I had to dispute this $65.50 with my bank because of this horrible place ... they didnt even offer a great alternative.. THEY WILL NEVER SEE MY MONEY IN THAT PLACE EVER AGAIN.
It was horrible. The chicken wasnt fresh, the fries were not fresh and saturated with apparently old grease. They gave me two small cups of mild sauce and two small cups of hot sauce for 14 pieces of chicken. The chicken was garlicky and the lady that answered the phone tried to act like she didnt understand what the problem was. She tried to justify and had an explanation for the lousy chicken. They need to do better.
So I just left the location. I ordered the 4 wings that shows 7.99 on the menu. The waiter brings me a 13.99 receipt. I show him the price online, he ask if he can show his manager ? Sure. He shows her and she still doesn’t honor the price. Never AGAIN. The Marietta location is really a joke!
So me and my crew go to Harold’s for hookah and to chill. Well apparently a fight is on tv so they charged an entry fee. Annoying but ok. When we go to order hookah they out of flavors and don’t have double hookahs that they have advertised. If you knew you were having an event that you were charging a fee to get in everything should be stocked. Then we were overcharged cause the waitress didn’t want to look into the fact that we had already paid for an item. A $50 subpar hookah was not the business. I have no desire to return. 2 stars cause the overall vibe was lit yet chill.
At least the chicken is hot but I think they only have one fryer. -I’ve been coming here since I moved from Chicago two years ago. And they aren’t even this careless at the gas station spots - Better service and fresher food - Traveling from Lawrenceville to Marietta, is a conscious choice of wasted time for bad food and service. Each time we go it’s worse. I mean from weekday lunch hour to late service on a Saturday game day. Inconsistent!! To say the least. Watered down, awful and over priced drinks. (Y’all really need better bartenders, ASAP!). Old, over cooked, greasy fries from lunch or several hours ago, like at least drain the grease. I love love love supporting black businesses and will continue to do so, but I’d rather take the hassle and drive to go to the Edgewood location. Or franchise my own because this was extremely disappointing, again. What’s worse is that management doesn’t care enough to even respond to the these reviews. Save your money.
I am a Chicago Native from the west side and was excited to patronize and support this restaurant. My husband and I arrived at Harolds Chicken and Ice Bar at approximately 8:20PM. We immediately were instructed to seat ourselves by the sign placed upon entering. We seated ourselves and within about 10 minutes were waited on. The waitress took our food orders and said she would come back and take our drink orders. She never came back...We ordered 2 orders of 8 piece wings, Mozzarella triangles, and a pizza puff. We waited for about 15-20 for my appetizer which is the only thing we received, along with a HENNY margarita which we struggled to get. We left at approximately 10PM and literally received none of our food. Oddly we watched several orders of chicken come out and be given to people who came in and ordered way after us...I mean people literally sat down and within 15-20 minute received their chicken....We honestly, felt no one cared about our service....2 hours though....I honestly took it personal as if we didn’t look “Cashy enough” to received speedy service...and I see pattern of this in their reviews....as if they are discriminating certain patrons based on the likely hood of a tip which is unfair to assume certain groups won’t tip and actually makes you lose business. We sat there for 2 hours and received no food....we were patient and accommodating and it seems that got us treated even worst...We explained the situation to the management and they were not really apologetic and offered us no service recovery for a 2 hour wait and receiving no food. We were actually asked to wait 30 more minutes to receive our order to go...Wow...we declined and paid our Bill and left. It’s almost as if our service wasn’t wanted which was unfortunate because I planned to tip handsomely being a native Chicagoan myself. I was very disappointed and I’ll be patronizing this business but I would not recommend this location. The staff seem to be more interested in partying themselves than they are in providing fair and expeditious service. So we wasted 2 hours of our evening and by the time we left nothing was open for us to eat...I was honestly livid....Not recommended at all unless you want to waste your evening and leave hungrier than you came....
The food was nothing like when I tried it for the first time at the Edgewood location. Placed a to go order at 11:20 AM (20 minutes after opening) and was told my order would be ready in 45 minutes. Thought that was crazy but I had an errand to run so I didn’t complain. Get there and there’s only 1 party seated. I get my order that was clearly ready 20-30 minutes prior. The chicken was cold and the waffles were super hard. Glad I checked because they were okay sending me home with that. I sent it back and they remade it but it was still just okay. Mediocre service at best. Then there was a $5.20 gratuity charge on my receipt. Like what did you do? I didn’t even bother disputing it. This is definitely a night life kinda spot when you don’t really care what the food taste like. Otherwise, go to Popeyes.
Waited over an hour for a takeout order that we never recieved. Spoke with the manager Mike to get a refund and was told they were to busy. I try to support our black businesses but when you fail at not taking care of your customer then its not good. We wasnt the only ones who didnt her their food. A lady in front of us ordered $91 worth and food and had been waiting almost 2hrs. Unbelievable!!!! The young lady at the desk is horrible and doesnt have any and I mean ANY customer service skills at all. She made sure to no answer the ringing phone and to constantly be away from the front to talk to her friends who were sitting at a close table. I will make sure everyone knows my experience.
This was my first time at this location 9/26/20. The waitress was awesome, she was very friendly, Great customer service. The live dj was awesome. He played good music, very engaging with the crowd. Had the ladies dancing. I had a really great time. The chicken n waffles was great as always. I cant wait to return.
Whew the service is slow. I wouldve loved our waitress to have said hey were running behind and made sure my water was at least filled prayerfully when we return theyll be fully staffed the vibe was definitely there just need a few more persons on staff I think itll be a great experience for their patrons
When this spot open it use to be very entertaining. You had to pay extra$ to enter into the VIP section, which in my opinion kept out low rate customers. Now its a FREE FOR ALL if your 21 and up. I mean who isnt 21 that goes out? Now you have altercations that primarily start with the younger crowds.( saw TWO fights with young men) in less than 30mins here. After reading this, you make determination if this is the type of environment you care to venture in with your lady/gentleman?? Youve been warned!
This was our first and last time at this place. My husband and I wanted to try a new spot and decided to go to Harolds Chicken and Ice Bar. The service was slow and the food was okay. There is nothing special about this place at all. The server added a 20% gratuity to our check. We asked her why and she explained that they charge 20% gratuity to everyone Saturday-Sunday. They don’t have anything on their website informing us of this 20% gratuity policy for everyone on weekends. I have never heard of something like that before. That’s ridiculous. We feel robbed and disrespected. We wouldn’t might leaving a 20% gratuity on our own volition. We didn’t try disputing the charge because I personally don’t like confrontations but again we will NEVER go back to this place. Save yourself from a headache and go somewhere else. DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE MADE.
We just ordered a 12 piece bucket, large catfish dinner, 8 pieces of Buffalo shrimp. The wait wasn’t that bad seeing that it was barely full. We ordered our food to go, got home 5 minutes later, opened our containers and started eating when we noticed the chicken tasted and smelled sour. Got into half a wing when I noticed the smell. We broke open the other pieces and they all smelled the same. I tried to call at 11:47pm, the close at midnight so I understand being frustrated that someone is calling this late but I deemed this as important. I called the first time it rang until voicemail, called the second time someone picked up and hung up, called again it rang until voicemail. Needless to say we are disappointed especially with how much everything cost.
We have really tried to support this business, but the service is just awful! Tonight was just too much.. We waited at the bar for about 5 minutes, five employees walked up to the bar, but not one acknowledged us...but they were going to and from the back deck. From where we were sitting, we could smell Marijuana coming in thru the back door. So I guess they were all hanging out there smoking because there was only 1 employee sitting at the entrance, on her cell phone.. There were only about 5 patrons in the building.. All 5 appeared to have food and drinks, but absolutely no one was working the floor or checking on them. And... the music was so loud! We have been to Harolds over a dozen times. Sometimes we get annoyed and just get the food to go. Other times we have just turned around at the door because the music could be heard outside the door. This could be a good place to stop in for a quick meal and a drink....but something needs to be done about the customer service....and the loud music.
The female that works carry out has a nasty attitude and is rude. Ordered a bucket of chicken wings with mild sauce and there was none. Was staying at a hotel 20 mins away..no I did not want to drive back to get sauce when the receipt said mild sauce on the chicken. I asked for a manager but was told they was busy. From a native of Chicago..do better..
I usually love this place but lately they have been really hit or miss. Seasoning has been inconsistent and I ordered catfish and wings the other night, but it tasted and looked more like swai. Catfish has a very distinct taste. Im gonna have to take a break before I try it again. Im kinda hurt as there arent many good places to get some nice hot fried fish!
Ive ordered the fried chicken wings, perch and cat fish, shrimp and fried orka from Harolds off Roswell in Marietta, GA. And I tell you- the food is off the chain. The meat is fresh and seasoned just right. Over the last 2 months Ive ordered food at this location 3 times and was pleased. My grandson loves the shrimp! FYI: you must ask for the cold slaw.
Firstly, the servers were not wearing masks. Secondly, my husband’s ’ order was mixed up but once it was straightened out , he did enjoy the catfish. However, my chicken tenders were over cooked and somewhat tough. The mozzarella triangles were also over fried and a third of them had no cheese inside. As I was trying my best to choke down the dry chicken tenders, one of the servers decided to wipe down the nearby tables with the strongest smelling beach on the market. It was so bad that I ended up gagging on my food. I did manage to eat most of my French fries which were fine.
So I went to Harolds Chicken for my sisters birthday. It was the first time we went out and wanted to support small business in the area. My sister had been checking it out as she drove by several times at night there seemed to have been a good vibe in there. Needless to say I was not impressed with the service we received . When we arrived we were able to pick out seats near the bar. We ordered our drinks my drink came very watered down it was obvious, my sister ordered shots and yeah the straight up liquor was watered down as well. I let it go and just ordered soft drinks after that. We all ordered our food and it took almost two hours to arrive. We were all pretty upset and hungry at this point. Once the food arrived no one received utensils for their meals .... so we kindly asked for some ,45 minutes later the waitress showed up with utensils. No body asked if we wanted refills for our drinks. At this point most of us were livid we had planned to go to the other side and order bottles but after the service we initial received we decided to go spend our money somewhere else. There were allot of people having a good time but they were probably getting better service. I feel they place was understaffed and that they made it a priority with the little bit of people they had there to serve the lounge for the most part because the waitresses just all kept disappearing to there. At the end of the night none of us could really enjoy our food we ended up just eating with our hands. It was a very disappointing experience. I also asked some of my friends after that if they had ever gone to Harolds chickens and they to recounted a similar experiences with the service and food.
I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, Chicken and Waffles and the Breeze to drink. My husband ordered Chicken and fries and everything was delicious. There was a slight mix up with my husband Chicken, but other than that everything was fine. Well drive back for more for sure!
I went to Harolds chicken and ice bar because I was treating my niece out for her birthday. The music was very loud. Hardly anyone other than the ones I was with had on mask. The sodas cost $1.50 and they came in small cups, we werent offered a refill. This place is very pricey. For Me and 2 kids i paid nearly $50 and the food wasnt worth it. The Gratuity tax was nearly $7, just on my ticket. My sister paid $58 for her and 2 kids as well.. I dont recommend anyone to go here, I will not be back. I will make sure I spread the word.
Went for a birthday party on karaoke night, saw an altercation with the staff in a couple of people that I was with the waitresses were rude and disrespectful and the managers brother was just as worse. The managers brother had a problem with paying people back who paid for drinks but never got their drinks because of the altercation and when it was brought to his attention to pay the customers back he had a issue with it…That was the first and last time we will ever go to Harold’s
Went one time and that was enough for me. One of the people I was with had lipstick on his shot glass. The food took forever and was cold. The had people smoking hookah in the booth right next to a booth that a kid was. It wasnt a great first impression. The only reason I even gave 2 stars was because the waitress was nice and the music was decent.
I will never order from this place again. I ordered the 8 piece chicken bucket with fried okra. Under the special instructions I listed fries and coleslaw. I only received fried okra. The chicken was burnt and dry. For the amount of money (not a problem) I could’ve got up and went to KFC. Im highly disappointed. This was my first and last time I will ever eat at this place.
The wait was about 2 hrs for online order. No social distancing with no mask on or the mask was around the chin. I had Harolds on edgewood many years ago and the food was really good. I went order food on Saturday night and the food was just ok. If you go, I suggest you go on a off day like Monday or Tuesday and maybe the food would be good.
We walked right in and had a section for 15 people. That was the best part! I would have had 2 more drinks if it didnt take 45 minutes to get each drink. Food was hot, took forever like the drinks. Order was messed up. BUT they had no hesitations putting the 18% Gratuity on the BILL....that was on there CORRECTLY.....and when I asked for the bill she bought that back to me very FAST.I would tip MORE if I wasnt made to tip....So she really lost out!
I order with a group from my office. I was very disappointed with food delivered. The wings were dry and tasted like oil was old. The fries were brown. The bread was hard. The only thing that tasted good was the fried green tomatoes. Definitely dont order delivery because you will be disappointed. Did not receive any sauces with wings or with tomatoes. I could have just eat my yogurt and kept my money. I have been there twice and food was always good.
Update!Quality took a sharp dive.Took the waitress 15 minutes to take our drink order. No acknowledgement that she saw us sitting or that she will be with us shortly. We saw a few sit after us and get greeted and served drinks. Only thing she said when she finally got to us is “are y’all ready to order?” Fast forward an hour and a half later. No checkup if we would like to order another drink refill and Our appetizers not even served. When she finally did come back, she asked to take our drinks. Did not ask if we wanted another. At this point we want to just get out of there.I’m disappointed at how horrible service is at would be a great place!Original Post:Im so glad that Harolds out here in Marietta. Love the atmosphere, great food, drinks and service.Definitely will return with more friends!
Its usually a bit thick (packed). Servers and orders end to be quite delayed, however the DJ that hosts the karaoke helps distract the wait time. The bar tenders (when you order directly from the bar) are a bit more timely as well, so the combination of those two ease the dismay in service time.
This place is a Ripoff I’m from Chicago first of all and the food I ordered last night was Gross 🤮 I asked for my chicken to be cooked crispy I ordered a half chicken mixed with fries the chicken was greasy and soggy no crunch on the chicken whatsoever it looked old as well and the Chicken breast was pink in the middle I added a two piece whiting fish which the fish portion was small cost $8.25 was not cooked crispy also with mild sauce on the side for both the order took thirty mins for some already pre prepared food and nothing was crispy they blamed the wait on the food being cooked crispy I was given one small cup of mild sauce for all that food and it wasn’t even real mild sauce then they added six dollars gratuity because it was after ten when they advertise the place is open until three for food They are misrepresenting Harold’s and giving people that’s not familiar with the Chicago based restaurant a bad taste for a well known Chicago restaurant I would recommend if you’re in Marietta go to the one on Windy Hill by the interstate at least someone that works there is from Chicago and your food will be fresh they only got one star because I had to chose that to warn you and post this they are getting a negative five stars from me
Stopped in a couple of weeks ago while visiting family in Atlanta. I live in Vegas but I was born and raised in Chicago. I didnt expect much from a Harolds in ATL to be honest but I had a ball! Monique took great care of us. She was witty and attentive, the food was perfect (damn I missed that mild sauce), and the drinks were exactly what she said theyd be, AWESOME!
I did a group Door Dash order with my coworkers for here. Our chicken tasted like it was cooked last night and the fries were not good. We could not eat all of it. That hurt my heart because I was looking forward to eating it. Also, we did not get everything from our order. Everyone did not get their dressings, we put in TWO orders of their fried green tomatoes only to have ONE order. Who doesnt give you ketchup when have an order fries?? Really? I got in contact with Harolds and the young lady went over the order with me and stated she only saw one order of fried green tomatoes at first. I went over the order with her again and she repeated it back again stating there were TWO orders of fried green tomatoes as I stated to her before. She said there was nothing they could unless I pick it up (I was at work, so I couldnt) or I would have to reach out to Door Dash. We have had Harolds before and it was good. I am not sure what happened here, but it was nasty. I was truly disappointed; we all were. We had our hearts and stomachs set on this. I would have rather eaten a Popeyes biscuit for lunch and it would have been better than what we ordered from here today.
Sara was the bar manager very nice and attentive. The drinks were nice. The drink specials are worth the price. 2nd visit much better.Service was fine. The drink was good. Cleanliness was something to ask for. Under the table was food and napkins, unacceptable. There was dried hot sauce or ketchup running down the wall. 1st impression 🤨.
Listen .... the food was horrible. I ordered the fish and shrimp dinner and the fish was HORRIBLE literally. It was soooo tiny and fried extremely hard and it just taste old like it sat out overnight . It was no meat in the fish at all just old fried up skin. The fries weren’t long ... it was like the bottom of the bag fries just chopped up potato bites . Highly disappointed.
I went to get some wings and it was 11:20pm. I was informed that the kitchen closes early but the host didn’t say what time. I showed her the listing that said they closed at 12:00 am and she just looked at me and said well they closed and walked off. I have never been to a place where the employee was so rude and also to state online that a business closes at 12am but they tell customers that walk in that they are not serving food any more and can’t tell what time they stopped. I understand that employees want to start closing early so they can get cleaning done but maybe they shouldn’t have 12 as a closing time posted. Or maybe they should post that food sales stop at a certain time. I drove 30 mins for nothing and now I will be driving 30 more mins. So 1 full hour wasted just to be disappointed.
2nd time going to this location due to the first experience being amazing. HOWEVER, going in on a Monday I experienced less than okay service. There weren’t many people in there to begin with yet the wait time for a small order was almost an hour! Attempted to call in order before arriving and no one answered the phone. I walked out due to not even being acknowledged of how long I had been waiting. PISS POOR SERVICE!
I love the dine -in experience . The chicken is good but the catfish is amazing! I gave three stars because of the delivery service. Its not the driver. I have ordered delivery, its never right. I have had the wrong food delivered (not the drivets fault because the bag is closed due to pandemic so he cant see if its correct) and called and been hung up on several times. I just wish the delivery service was as good as the catfish.
This was our first visit and our last. Just plain nasty. The floor in the restaurant area felt slippery - definitely needed a good scrubbing, as well as the tables. We ordered, waited a half hour, still no food. After our initial drink order and ordering our meal, we never saw the waitress/stripper wanna-be (by the way she was dressed). We left and wont be back.
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised during our visit. The atmosphere is decidedly urban, so youll be disappointed if youre looking for an intimate date spot. The fried catfish and shrimp were absolutely terrific! It would have been nice to have a few more healthy menu choices for sides, but the food and service stands on its own. We plan to return in the future
I love it here! Its a fun atmosphere where you can have drinks, socialize, dance and eat amazing food. The staff is attentive and the owner (Bobbie) is always there checking on customers making sure that everything is going well. Every experience is personal and professional. If youre looking for a great time this is the place to be!
Went to watch the Wild Card NFL. The crowd was great. The service was not that great. I arrived early, had a seat and waited for someone. Finally, I grab the attention of one waitress. Then when the crowd came the service got worst. The waffles was hard and greasy, the shrimp was too salty. Then we ordered pizza roll and she never put in the order. All while we were waiting for our order so we could leave. Then she said the wait on food was a hour. Terrible service!!!
Amazing establishment, even better service! Im not really a bar person, but Harolds is definitely bringing out the best in me. Frankie is an amazing bartender every time were in and always makes a great host. Harolds earned about three of these stars... the other two are for Frankie and his service. Will DEFINITELY be returning!Edit: We met Sarah and now they cant get us to leave. Best bar in Marietta!
I love this location so much better than the one downtown. Chicken is seasoned, Hot and ready. The waitresses are awesome, friendly and aim to make sure you enjoy your food and drinks. Ive been twice and awesome service every time. The hookah, the lounge area with the colorful cubes is a nice touch. The nights they have a DJ is also amazing, with a mix of old and new. I
I went on New Year’s Day it pretty laid back and nice music. But....the service was extremely slow. I had to find my own seat, find hot sauce and ask for my drink twice (still didn’t get it from waitress) I had to go to bar.Waitress was nice but I think she was taking naps every 20 mins in the back.A guy came in to place an order and they took 30mins to get to him( I was timing). And the spot was basically empty! On top, the chicken didn’t look fully cooked and nowhere near flavorful. I wanted to try them out but this will be my last experience. I know I should’ve cooked myself.
I went there today and I ordered the four piece chicken wing dinner. The order was $9.59 I handed the girl a $20 and she came back with $9.00. I got my order it was a piece of bread a little bit of french fries and four wings so small the bird didnt even get a chance to say chirp. My friend Ivy told me that she made a mistake I should have gone to Harolds Chicken shack. I tried to return the order but the girl said no they dont take orders back so I left. I love my black people but I tell you sometimes they do the most ridiculous stuff when it comes to service and I will never go there again.
This is not it run! I came out for a small girls outing at 9 didn’t get a greeted until 10:15 order a drink and didn’t get it until 11. Very disappointed I try to support black businesses and they make it so hard. I waited over 2 and a half hours to get my food while my friend sat there and ate since my food was not ready. The manger tried her best but yes this is not the move at all take your money else whereAlexandria F was the Manger by the way. Not sure if the server for the patio but she was extremely unprofessional ask I was talking she decided to walk away. Not a good look at all.
I go to Harold’s all the time, but not this location. Me and my friends walk into a less than half full restaurant. There was literally 5-6 groups there and that was it. We ordered our food, which takes about an hour for us tor receive, there’s no one in the restaurant so that was the first strike. 2nd strike, the food is cold. We nibbled off of our food but no one finished their plates. The next day, we all have food poisoning. Coincidence? I think not. That happened on Sunday 11/1, it’s 11/6 and I’m still not feeling well. If you’re going to continue eating at the chain, just stick to the main location on Edgewood.
Ordered chicken & waffles from the Roswell location, very FIRST time at any of the Harolds & I will NOT ever return to this location. Waffles were deep fried but no reason I squeezed napkins full of oil out of 2 waffles. The WORST.....disgusting the amount of oil that came out. I have photos!!!!
Went to this location on August 29th 2019. Decided to try it and coincidentally there was karaoke there and the atmosphere was nice. That part of it was fun. I got their chicken wing dinner. The chicken was bland. The fries that came with the dinner tasted better. The bathroom was filthy. The staff was friendly though, just wasnt impressed by the food. I expected better from a restaurant supposedly known for their chicken. Ive had better chicken from KFC.I wouldnt recommend this place.
My family and I visited this location for the first time. We absolutely loved everything. The food was amazing (chicken wings, catfish, shrimps and fries). The service was very quick and our food stayed hot from beginning to end. The prices were cheaper than some wing spots or restaurants. Our waiter checked on us thoroughly throughout our entire visit.. We will definitely be back soon and recommend to friends and family.
Tonight, I tried to place a pick up order, but the phone wouldn’t go through. One of their cordless phones was missing and on. She didn’t seem concerned.I ordered and waited almost a full hour before my 1 meal with a side of fries came out.The food was DISGUSTING! The mild sauce is NOT the mild sauce from Chicago. That stuff is gross. The chicken was not fresh. Definitely day old (at least) chicken reheated. I’ll never return. I’ll never have Harold’s outside of Chicago again! And on top of all of this, they had the WACK PACK displayed! 👎🏾
Nice atmosphere but food was HORRIBLE. Buffalo wings were purple in the middle. The sauce taste like bbq sauce with hot sauce and ketchup. It was sauce on the walls (they really need to wash) menus need updating and it took about an hour to get our food which was only 10 wing dings, fried green tomatoes and chicken and waffle. Then i asked for a to-go box and they gave me wax paper and a boat bowl... Saying wrap my wings in the wax paper, sit it in the bowl and put the bowl in the bag (which by the way is too small to sit the bowl flat in the bottom..) So if you are looking for takeout.. You wont have a box or nothing with a lidBut drink specials are priced good...Horrible. Never again
You don’t get what you pay for.I paid for the VIP area to celebrate my birthday with my friends. Now I have a diverse group of friends in all spectrums of melanin and we look a little young but we are all in our late 20s to early 30s. AS 👏🏼SOON👏🏼AS👏🏼WE👏🏼SAT👏🏼DOWN the waitresses discussed loudly enough for me to hear about how they didn’t want to serve my group. Then proceeded to ignore my group for 45 min until I finally got mad enough to go hunt the manager down. By then I had friends leave because how uncomfortable they were there. Now whether it was because of complexion or not I’m not sure, but if it was about if we would tip well... not serving us definitely means we can’t tip and rolling your eyes and acting as if we are a bother is not going to get you paid. The food is good.
Had a really great time the service was great the atmosphere was just right for the bringing in of the 2018 new years masquerade ball and it was my first time there and I plan on going back this weekend so come out show your support for this wonderful setting and a good time
There were 14 patrons in the establishment including my party of four on Monarch night yet we experienced wait times comparable to a Saturday evening. The facility appeared to be severely understaffed. The drinks were fine and our waitress was friendly but customer service was lacking from a business perspective.
Yeah them cheese sticks was good with no napkins hospitality and customer service was not good at all and did not get any greetings no acknowledgement at establishment. waiting at unclean table for 20 minutes.food was good but i would think everything comes out at once not just my cheese sticks and wait another 20 minutes.
I celebratwd my birthday at the Marietta location in the V.I.P. room and it couldnt have been at a better location. Everything was done in excellence. My guest enjoyed the music, the class of the establishment, the food and the cocktails from the bar. Our server, Stephanie was exceptional! She was personable and very attentive. A few of the party-goers have asked for information to book their next event at Harolds.
Ive never had a good experience here. Every time I visit I witness other customer issues. This establishment always tries to figure out a way to add additional charges to your bill whether it be through the sauces, gratuity or mis pricing. I have mistakenly given a 18 to 20% tip on top of the mandatory gratuity you took from me before. So FYI if you dine in and spend I believe over 20 bucks theyre going to take a tip from you. The food was never terrible but it was always cooked in dirty Grease and never great. The only reason Ive continued to support this business is because it is one of the very few places I found an abundance of my people socializing..
The only reason this place got two stars is the food. They will never receive my business at this location again. I placed an online order for and 8pc Wong combo w/an up charge for substituting the fries for fried mushrooms. I didnt want the fries because my ride home was long & they wouldnt rewarm well. I also ordered a snack sized version of their Mozzarella. Upon my arrival there was a young lady in the back of the restaurant working on something and she told me to go to the bar to receive my food, but then once she realized he was on the phone with someone else she asked me had I paid already and what was my name. I repeated three times but with the mask I understood if she didnt understand me but when I spelled it out to refrain from repeating myself a fifth time and sometimes people dont know how my name is spelled, she stared at me like I grew another head, offended that I spelled it for her seeing as she brought me a receipt for someone elses order with a completely different name.Fast forward to my food coming out this time a young man brings my food. He says you are going to have to go online to get your money back for the mushrooms. Because he said it so fast and just launched into talking I asked him to repeat it he huffs and says that they no longer serve the mushrooms so since there was an up charge and I paid online I would have to put the confirmation code in and request the refund. I said okay so you all just gave me fries instead? Yea okay fine. Are my mozzarella triangles in the bag? He says yes everything is in there. Seemingly bothered that I would even question it and walks off.Of course because I had issue during my last visit with incorrect food I checked, lo and behold no mozzarella also the plastic cover to the ranch has deformed from it going in the bag with the hot food and spilled the ranch. I ask for another top and the waitress offers me another and brings me napkins. From there I explain that my mozzarella was not in the bag. She goes to find the order ticket from the back and comes back and says You didnt order them. After a back and forth of me explaining I ordered them. I just showed her my online receipt and she compares the two and says that they have no control over what the online system does and it didnt get sent to kitchen. That they pay an outside company to handle that. I expressed that was okay but were they going to get my food? because at this point no one has even acknowledged that it was being taken care of or if I was going to have to get my money back for those too. Not upset at this point, just confused. The waitress said yes weve just never had this problem before as if to say I was the problem all the while talking with her hands and slapping the receipt as if I cannot read what it said (which to the defense of the kitchen all it says was snack, not what kind of snack or anything so thats fair) I calmly let her know this was the second time this happened and I expressed that this is the second time that the order has not made to the kitchen in its entirety, that they as a business need to fix It still wasnt their problem and that they didnt need to fix anything Then yells at me from a 20 ft distance to the point where other costumers have now looked up from their meals, after she had walked away that thats why They told me to called in and order. (Ive never talked to them how could u tell me that?) Then proceeds to talk disparagingly about me to the other young man from earlier who lied to me about checking the order in the first place. Saying that I was wrong from telling them to fix the continual issue? Im wrong to think that if YOU are paying a company for a service and they are causing issues that you cannot contact them have them fix this service so that it does not make you look bad as a business? If the online ordering is a continual issue shut it down or get it fixed but do not be disrespectful to the patron. By stomping away and rolling your eyes when all I wanted was the correct food.
I decided to go here on a lunch break from work. The food and atmosphere is definitely an upgrade from the location on Edgewood. The food is also a pretty good representation of home. The food was fresh, and I was very happy I could get mild sauce on the chicken and fries (instead of in those little plastic cups. There was also no up charge. I hope it stays this way over time. Ive already recommended this location to all my Chicago buddies, and I plan on going back to check out the nightlife soon.
This place is like a robotic, futuristic George Jetson... version of Harolds if your in the Marietta area and dont wanna go All The Way to the city to get your get right on, this place will fulfill you that situation! The wait staff was gorgeous, drinks on point, didnt try the food as of yet cause it was too late for me to eat but the orders kept coming and coming and coming... And it smelled so good i was almost tempted.... But a very lively atmosphere, they have about two rooms for bar and eating & a party room. Also noticed a side patio. I ear hustled and heard they are going to do a Saturday and Sunday brunch. This place is about to be LIT!! But overall great service and no ugly people until i walked in. What can i say, i keeps it Ugly...
Me and wifey went here for the first time and was disappointed. We from Jerzey and heard about this Chi town spot in the Atlanta/Marietta area. So we checked them out. They had a great atmosphere, good server at the bar but food was not pleasant. I consider us as food critics do to the fact that we have our own business involved with food so when we go out to eat we expect a certain way to be served our food and how its presented. We didnt even get pass our appetizers. One couple came in after we did and had they food brought out to them b4 us. By that time we was already asking 4 our check. I will still support our black folks with businesses but not this one. At least not no time soon.
It was ok, service wasnt the best nor was the food. Waffle was hard & oily. Server rarely stopped by & gratuity was added within bill, which wouldnt have been a problem if the server was attentive to our table. Did enjoy not having to pay for parking or a long wait to be seated.Luckily Ive experienced the Edgewood location 1st and theyve become 1 of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta.
The food was nice and hot! The wait time for the food was ridiculous we had a party of 8 with only 2 other patrons in the ice bar. It took us forever to get drinks and more than an hour on food. We came here around 4 pm in the afternoon, so I can only imagine after hours.
Much improved from the previous reviews. Host was friendly and the food was good. The late night gratuity is posted around the establishment and on the menus. If you want take out you should definitely call it in before driving there. Food is made fresh to order so it does take time to prepare.
I am totally disappointed with the service and inconsistency of the Marietta location. I have ordered over the phone and eaten inside. As far as ordering over the phone, I had no idea until I attempted to order last night that they automatically add a gratuity to take out orders. Shame on me for not noticing before then, but now since I know that, I wont be back. My total was going to be over $25.00 for the 4 wing combo and 2 Mac and Cheese bites. WOW!!!! When you eat inside, the service is extremely slow if even they arent busy. the atmosphere is just not that professional. The tables and booths could definitely use a makeover. They look very old. When you eat inside, you have to keep flagging down people to get drink refills or anything else that you need, however you are forced to pay a tip for the terrible service. It is such a shame, because the food is excellent. Not good enough to compensate for the shady way extra money is charged to your bill and the horrible service. It is so unfortunate that so many Black owned businesses make it hard for customers to be loyal to them. I wanted to be a loyal customer, but I just cant!!!
I picked up a Uber eats order from this restaurant today. Employees didnt give me an update on when the order was going to be ready and made me wait 30 minutes. This place needs to work on its management and kitchen. A Uber driver shouldnt need to wait more than 10 minutes for a order. Your restaurant needs to rethink using the Uber eats delivery option. Time is money and they wasted lots of my time.
Sara was a wonderful bartender she kept drinks flowing and a smile on my face. The karaoke environment was amazing the server Larry was so awesome his personality is amazing he wasnt our server and still made sure we were okay. The server Le Le was also amazing she was very nice and attentive. They said a Miss Bobby was their owner and she assures her workers are the best and I can attest that they are. Guys attend Harolds Marietta its the best!!!
We visited this new location in Marietta. I wanted awesome wings and was really anticipating the experience. Highly disappointed is a grave understatement! We walk in and the hostess is sitting behind the counter/desk on the phone having what appeared to be a casual conversation. Aware of our presence, she barely made eye contact and never acknowledged us. A sign instructed guests to seat yourselves, so we did. We sat in a booth near the door. A couple came in after us, and had water on their table within 3 minutes (they sat near the bar). After 10 minutes with ZERO acknowledgement from any staff member (there were several and the place was not full), we decided to leave. Our experience was very unfortunate.
Service was horrible and we were sitting at the bar and had to wait longer than should have been to take our food and drink order and even longer took recieve both food and drink especially sitting at the bar. All the employees that came by us talked about how tired they were and did not seem to care about our experience. Ive been here before and have never been treated like this. The place wasnt overly packed and they seemed fully staffed so there experience didnt make sense.
It was subpar. The bartender asked how our drinks were and my friends drink wasnt right. We were told we would still have to pay for it, and we hadnt been there 5 minutes. They also wore their masks on their chins and not over their mouths/noses (not covid friendly). Doubt I will be back any time soon.

2022-06-25I got the chicken and waffles which weren’t bad but the chicken was small and the waffles were soggy even before I put the syrup on it. It came with coleslaw which I was excited for, only to see that it came in a sauce cup but it was besides the point there were 2 with my order when I opened up the first one I could smell that it was SERIOUSLY off I went to grab the second and I kid you not the top looked like it was about to pop off it was full of whatever gas was emoting from the coleslaw (like a milk carton that’s gone bad and the sides start to pop out). Definitely going to steer clear of this place after that!!!

2022-03-20Ordered their “4 whole wings and fries” for about $17 and got this....I called in and told them that the size of the “whole” wings are unacceptable and requested a refund or to remake the order. You can see the toothpick as a reference to the size of the wings. After a 15 minute hold, I was informed that they don’t refunds and would not be able to exchange the food because they would have to “see it” before it leaves the store. Offered to bring it back so they can “see it” but a remake or refund was denied. They definitely lost me as a customer.

2021-11-02Ive been coming here since it was ice bar(now Kai),and have the same review when coming in during the afternoon. The evening is more fun. Parking is OK, service sitting at the bar was terrible! I wish I could remeber the bartenders name, she was blonde. She admitted openly she forgot to put in our order. We only ordered 3 things to share and multiple drinks. The food is delicious once you do reserve it. The weekend evenings here they have a dj and clear the eating area to become a dance floor its always packed and a good time with friends for that occasion.

2021-12-19Food is trash, not nearly as good as the Edgewood location no seasoning, no whiteCrack famous season or nothing. The vibe was lit, great dj & service on a Saturday night.

2022-02-27So disappointing. I ordered the six piece wing meal. The wings tasted like they had been fried in old grease. The mild sauce had absolutely no flavor. The establishment could use some renovations. It does not look clean or orderly. Some of the seats in the booths are torn up. The waiters and waitresses do not wear masks while serving you. The food is outrageously overpriced for wings that are fried in old grease with little to no flavor. Dont waste your money at this restaurant.

2022-02-28My boyfriend and I ate here for a date night. We had an amazing time! The music is great & our waitress Angel was great! She made sure we had everything we needed & made our experience that much more enjoyable. I recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to vibe and have a good time.

2021-09-05Please dont ever go to this location. They gave me old reheated chicken. The manager was so rude and ignorant its unbelievable. The grease was old. The manager said the change it every day, not several times a day. Just once a day.. The one on Edgewood was great.

2021-07-14I usually enjoy this location because the management and service is nice, but to be charged gratuity for a TO-GO order at 20% is absurd. Prices have went up super high due to supply/demand of chicken (17$ for a 6 piece wing meal). Didn’t get my coleslaw in my meals. Lastly, they gave me my food to go in a Kroger bag. I’m more upset that the Manager came inside to regulate and cared to do nothing about removing gratuity from the order and also smelled like a pound of WEED! Super unprofessional..
