We enter the building no greet and several employees walked by no acknowledgment. Finally someone came by and asked if we were dining inside or outside. We stated inside and we were asked to sit where ever. Sat for another 20 minutes before someone came to us. The young lady Elyse finally came to the table to take order. Seemed like she was more concerned about tables outside then our table inside. We finally got food about 45 minutes to a hour. This was a total disaster of a experience
This is a very nicely presented place. The location is perfect for a warm nite time dinner with friends, or a date. Even with the heart I prefer to eat outside as to be able to take in the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. I have only been here once so I cant speak on their food, but the bar made my drink perfectly. I will be back.
Highly don’t recommend, the food is mundane there’s mildew on the walls in the kitchen. 3/4 managers talk badly about the owner, and those 3 mangers don’t care if an employee dies, gets rushed to the ER to get brought back to life and needs to recover. They force you to work and cannot recover especially if you’re scheduled to work a double shift with no break at all. The only manager who actually cares, is Emma. Night shift employees are amazing tho, and Princess Charles with morning shift…. Incredible, and the bartenders are amazing too. If you prefer mundane food and go during brunch, ask for Princess Charles (I highly recommend)
Was looking for a dog friendly restaurant on our way home from FL. Looked up Henry’s and thought we found the perfect spot. We were told to sit anywhere in the patio. We sat and no one came by. Then a worker came and sat another couple beside us. Then a different worker sat another couple beside them. Then we watched a party of 7-8 get sat right beside us. All THREE tables were greeted addressed and had drink orders all while no one even paid us attention. Once I saw two employees talking and just knew they were about to greet us. Nope, not one single employee ever even acknowledged us. We left and walked to Hudson Grill which we were immediately taken care of. We come through Atlanta often. Won’t be stopping or recommending Henry’s.
Came in to this place because there weren’t any other options but seem pretty dirty in the inside, but we got a table outside and it was better.Waited +20 mins for the waitress to come to us even though they weren’t even that busy. We stayed to give them one more chance and instantly regretted. She put the food in and I ordered roasted chicken taco but I got looked and tasted more like nothing. I see the ingredients but it has no taste, it’s just spicy and it doesn’t even taste like there’s salt in it. It looks like something I could’ve prepared at home and it would’ve tasted a lot better. Then i complained about my food the waitress said “I’m not the kitchen so..” i don’t know what kind of response is that.Horrible experience. I can’t believe a place like this is even open. Everything is very average and distasteful.
We had just arrived in midtown Atlanta & found Henry’s. We loved the vibe the minute we walked in. AJ, our server suggested drinks & sandwiches. Deviled egg appetizer, BLT club, & Philly cheese steak is all highly rated! Come, enjoy, sip on a cocktail or two-you won’t regret it.
Our server was friendly and helpful. Lots of seafood options and prices are solid for the portions. The patio area is also large and tree covered, which helps it feel a bit more secluded from the busier sidewalks. Tables are spaced apart to ensure distancing and staff were good about wearing masks.
Our first time here in years. So far, slow service. We had to get the Waiters attention to get water and place our order. A large table is dirty and full of glasses and bottles. Apparently that Waiter didnt clear some of the table while servicing that group. The carrots that were served with the Wings were dried out. The Waiter is not Proactive. We had to get his attention every time we needed something. They need to treat the patio for mosquitos.
Henry’s is a great place to hang out, especially on their dog friendly deck. However, I find that their food is hit or miss.We ate brunch their this weekend. It was my first time inside and I was very underwhelmed. We were first seated at a table directly in line with the front door. When we asked to be moved the hostess was a little put out. It was crowded and very loud. Our waiter was more interested in socializing with everyone than taking care of our order and request. In addition, our friend and I had probably the Worst chicken & gravy biscuit ever. The gravy had very little seasoning, the biscuit was under cooked and gummy. The chicken was a very small (probably frozen) chewy chicken breast. Neither of us finished our meal, had to track down our server to get our check.Very disappointing experience!
Outdoor seating accommodations was available there was a slight wait about 20 minutes. Our server was not that attentive. The table was clean for our seating. We were not aware of no menus being passed out which makes sense due to the pandemic. It would have been nice to know instead of waiting for a menu. My salmon was perfectly done and vegetables was good brussel sprouts and kale not my favorite but it was nicely done. There’s limited parking but paid parking close by. My date had the half chicken with brussel sprouts and kale. He enjoyed the vegetables but the chicken was very dry.
The environment is great here, it is such a beautiful spot. Our server was attentive and helpful, it seemed busy so I understand the speed of everything. I was disappointed with the food, my burger was overcooked and came out 10 minutes after my partys food. In addition the fries were on the colder side. Really cool place though and would for sure return.
Nice atmosphere and excellent food. I had the Thai chicken salad and my wife mini pork baked potatoes and a side salad. Drinks were downtown pricy. Salad that we ordered was missed and cancelled except on the bill. Service was friendly but very slow. We waited 15 minutes for the bill.
I ate here for my birthday this pass weekend and everything was amazing down to our waiter Bunny. He was so bubbly and full of energy. He even helped me pick my dinner bc it was so undecided lol. I tried to get back over there before we left the state and order some more chicken wings but we was waaayyyy on the other side of town and it was out of our going home route. This will definitely be a spot I hit up first when I make it back to Georgia 🤞🏽
Didnt expect to find this place but when i it popped up with such good ratings we decided to give it a shot.4 star beer, 5 stars for atmosphere in a place that couldnt have been that easy to make inviting, comfortable, and relaxing. Super friendly staff, no food but a food truck is available and our food was welcome inside. They sealed my 5 star review with absolutely incredible value, the $8 sampler was 4 beers and included seasonal etc.
My friend and I decided to give Henrys a try. We heard good things and wanted to try it out for ourselves. So say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Let me start off with the positives. The place was very clean, and the staff seemed very friendly. The selection of food was wide and varied enough to satisfy just about everyone. From fried tavern fare to vegetarian options. We both ordered mixed drinks which took a long time to get. (Over 10 mins and the bartender was not busy at all) Once we got our drinks they were very good. Our server then proceeds to not get us any utensils. I had to take them from a neighboring table. For a place that was not that busy it took a half an hour to get our food. My food was not hot at all. And this heartburn inducing sauce they call aioli was horrible. However their ranch sauce was really great so I stuck with that. I hardly saw my server. He didnt ask if we needed refills on anything until we were done with our meal. At which point I was over this place. It then took another 10 minutes to process the whole check out. From table to point of sale. I am fairly liberal when it comes to rating places. But for what they charge, they really missed many marks. I will not be coming back here at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone else.
Came by Henry’s for casual drinks and an appetizer with a friend on a Sunday evening. We chose to sit on the outside deck. It was a nice space to sit and catch up over drinks while taking in the atmosphere of Midtown. Our server Noah was so friendly and attentive. I give Henry’s 5 stars for Noah alone! Thanks for the awesome experience, Noah! :)
Came here for the first time tonight and I was not disappointed. Bailey at the bar was awesome, all of my drinks came out promptly and tasted delicious. The hummus, Oreo cheesecake, and Heath bar ice cream cake were all great as well. My friend got the salmon salad and it looked phenomenal. I love the atmosphere here, it is very inclusive and welcoming. Will certainly be returning and I can’t wait to try more of the menu items.
Amazing Patio service by Andrew. Came for a late lunch on Tuesday with my dog Castiel. Andrew was so sweet to my baby and brought him iced water right away(w/o me asking).I had the lunch special $3 tacos and Coronas. Great deal. Spent $10 plus tip and had 2 tacos and 1 corona. I ordered chicken and pork Pretty good size and very filling lots of meat and flavor. The patio is just amazing. I totally love this place.
Great deck. Tacos were phenomenal. I had the veggie and pulled pork. Deviled eggs were too pre-made and cocktail had little drawing flavor beyond the alcohol. Waiter was attentive and very pleasant. The staff was so professional in how they waited on a homeless couple who came and requested coffee. That love speaks well of the restaurants heart.
The place was fairly quick to sit us but our wait time for our waiter to take our orders took a long time not only for that but just asking or ordering anything in general would take 10-20 minutes to get. Other than that the food was very tasty and the vibes were great… the outdoor patio is very nice to sit at. Considering the long wait time I will be returning to this place.
I wish that I could comment on the food but unfortunately, after 30+ minutes of sitting and waiting for a server to even come greet us, we got fed up and left without ordering. There were plenty of wait staff working as well, but the most we got was a disinterested glance from the hostess. From reading other reviews, this seems to be a reoccurring problem. Perhaps this is how they treat the customers that they don’t want business from. Very disappointed in what appeared to be an upscale and well-run establishment. We will not be returning.
I had dinner at the bar. Henrys was one of the places I used to go to several years ago. It was great to be back! Joe P was my bartender he was very friendly, had a great personality and made sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. As always, the food was excellent!
Best place to have brunch on a Sunday! Seating inside and out is usually a little cramped, but the food is fantastic, the waitresses and waiters are very nice, and the environment is warm inside and fantastic outside. Now just hope for great Atlanta weather so that you can REALLY enjoy it.
Great place too sit outside and relax with family and friends. Ice in middle of the table to keep your beer cold. Super nice with a dog friendly patio. Even brought our sweet girl a bowl of water. Free customer parking close to restaurant. $10 public parking behind restaurant. Food was good.
Sorry, but because an Atlanta restaurant can’t do a southern biscuit properly 2 stars is all I’m giving. It was dreadful. On a positive note, the atmosphere and service were good and my friends enjoyed their wings. But please learn to prepare and serve a proper southern biscuit. Especially for your yankee visitors.
Terrible, terrible, service!!! What am I talking about? We left without ANYBODY coming to our table! AND none of the staff was the least bit interested when we left. No questions, just some bored looks from the guy at the host station. BTW, the date and time November 14, 2021 at 8:35 pm. Hey if you don’t want my business, then why seat us???
Its OK, and they like dogs and have a noisy roadside patio, but the chips that came with our salsa and guac was a little rancid. Kind of annoying to pay for that and have bad tasting chips. The fish and chicken tacos were OK, but pretty small. At least the house wine was decent, although the malbec was better than the cabernet.
Food is pretty decent. Not a lot of variety but the few offers are nice. The service is average, though. The last time I went with friends, they took so long to give us a table and there were many available. The waiter brought the menu only we were asked about drinks and we didnt know because we didnt have the menu. When food arrived, no forks, knives and napkins. In sum, a disastrous service.
Our bi-monthly happy place :) Salmon burger, fries, and a beer is always my comfort food. They welcome our dog with a hearty smile and much-needed water bowl. Always happy to have a queer space still thriving, despite what weve been through. Will keep supporting the business.
We came with a party of 8. They sat us quickly, but did not give us enough seats. They expected 4 people to sit on one bench, which was not gonna happen. When I asked for additional chairs I was told no. Barely any effort was made to accommodate us. My food was mediocre at best. Fries were good, but dont get the BLT it was super underwhelming. Maybe thats my fault for ordering that though. When it was time to get the check, the waiter had split the alcohol bill amongst all 8 of the party members. 3 of us did not drink though and we still had it on our individual bills. When I asked for it to be taken off our bills the waitress made a huge deal about it and made me feel bad for even asking, making me feel inferior because I didnt want to pay for something I didnt even get. I will NOT be returning. Watch out if you have a large party.
I rarely make it a point to write a review but given the low quality of cafeteria food I just received, I felt it was more than necessary. I’m from out of town and stumbled upon this restaurant with a beautiful patio. The patio is the only thing this restaurant has working in their favor. The “homemade “ biscuits are dry & over baked, the strawberry jelly is completely watered down and bitter, the grits taste like water and was plated wrong and the bacon was overcooked. Not to mention the devil eggs tasted like mustard with no seasoning, no chipotle, no paprika no smoke or flavor at all JUST MUSTARD . The small baked potatoes were served with a huge lump of cheese sauce & did not look appetizing at all! The crab cake was decent but it was a fab bit salty.I don’t know who gave all of these wonderful reviews saying that the food in this establishment was great, because they have lied.. they have lied to everyone several times. The food here is not good, the plating is horrible, the inside tables have wholes and the booths are falling apart ...do not believe the reviews..you have been warned
Food was below average. We came for brunch and the smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese was basically a DIY project. The bagel came toasted but everything else was piled on the side of the plate for you to construct yourself. There were 2 small tomato slices, 1 small onion round slice, 2 slices of avocado, and a spoonful of cream cheese alongside the smoked salmon. There was at least a good amount of the salmon. My companion’s food was an over baked biscuit with seemingly unseasoned scrambled eggs and minimal sausage. Our drinks arrived after the food (about 20 minutes after we were seated) and we were never offered refills. The check took longer than the food to get to our table - at least an additional half an hour.Needless to say, we won’t be returning. The only positive experiences we had were the outside seating and our waiter was kind.
Was seated quickly. Given menus and water. Then nothing for at least 15 minutes. This is understandable at most places due to lack of employees, but this did not seem to be the case. Since my wife and I had not ordered we just left. Upon leaving witnessed staff talking in a group at the front of the establishment. Honestly cant review food only service. This was quite the let down.
Horrible service horrible 😡We waited 15 minute to get a waiter to serve usAnd another 15 minutes to get our drinkAnd they made a mistake with our orderAnd when we asked for refill for our Coke brought us coke in plastic cup and empty it in the Glass cupPlus we waited 25 minutes for our checkAnd nobody show up so I have to walk to the register to payShe made pay for the wrong table uffffWhat a horrible experienceDon’t go there
Went on a Wednesday evening. Was told that my fiancée and I had to wait 20 minutes for a table even though there were 3-4 unoccupied tables visible from where we were standing. After finally being seated we ordered drinks that were semi tasty but seemed non-alcoholic. We received our food fairly quickly which was great. The only downside was that the food was flavorless. I’m not sure if salt and pepper were even used. I wanted to send the food back but could never get the waiter to come back and check on us. It was a busy night so I’m not sure what kept him from doing so. When he finally came over he apologized for not checking on us. By that time I had picked thru the meal and we just asked for the check. We paid and left a cash tip and left and decided we wouldn’t be going back. Days later I look at my bank statement and realize the waiter took a $13 dollar tip for himself from my bank card without my permission. We left a cash tip so I don’t know why he would do such a thing. All in all. The food and service weren’t up to par. They need a new cook and staff. Won’t be returning.
The Wait was ridiculous I was waiting 30 mins plus everytime my server came to the table!! U can tell the drinks were sitting there for a while cuz the ice was all small and melted when it got to our table! Just because this restaurant is a popular one doesn’t mean u can treat the customers any type of way!! Hire faster servers or more servers!
Food is always great. Sat inside for once since it was cold but we love the huge patio. Our temperature was taken and folks were wearing 😷! Love it. QR code menus. My phone wasnt working so they actually printed out menus! Super customer service too. Always a good time.
I love that you can bring your dog to Henris. Thankful our dog behaved on his first time. The food was delish, hot, and worth coming back for. The waitress was smiling even behind the mask. She even asked if she could give our dog a treat without assuming it was ok. Definitely a return visit is on order.
Check with your server before ordering - every item we wanted was no longer available...for months according to the server. On top of that the drinks are made with low quality mixers that diluted and made the drink basically unenjoyable. The only positive of the place is the patio, but everything else is starting to outweigh that value.
The atmosphere outside was food, HOWEVER, inside was a different story. The restaurant smelled bad, you noticed as soon as you walk in. We had the chicken fingers for appetizer and they were dry. We order the salmon burger and it was the worst salmon I ever had, no flavor to it, no salt, and no seasoning. The only good thing besides my server was my Prosecco.
Came here for brunch. Atmosphere is okay however our waiter was far from attentive and courteous. Took around 15 minutes to get our drinks and 45 minutes to get our food and then we got our appetizer after. By the time our food was brought out it was cold. I understand if the restaurant is busy however the manager even agreed that it wasn’t busy. The manager was nice enough to cover the food though so that’s a plus. Next time I just hope for a better waiter if I’m to visit this restaurant again.
The host Dominic was very welcoming to my dog and I. Super nice! Outside seating is very nice with trees built into the deck for a natural touch smack dab in the city. My server Blake was perfect. I ordered the cancelled as a starter. A little doughy for my taste but still delicious and the sauce complemented it well. My entree was a mushroom Swiss burger with a side of parmesan fries. I ordered the burger medium and it arrived well done. NEVERTHELESS, IT WAS DELICIOUS. its served on a multi grain toast. It was also served with a side of house made spicy ketchup. It was so delicious. I kept dipping and I dont even like ketchup. Service was super fast. Definitely stop by if you in the area. The have entrees for dogs too!
Two names, Aiofe and Becca, the Saturday bartenders. Even with a busy bar, I felt like I had special attention at the bar. Always able to refill my water glass as fast as my cocktail. The garlic parmesan wings were delicious as well, but the level of service was amazing for me.
A bit upset with the service provided... let’s start by Henry’s not having seating on the patio for 2, however, the party of 4 directly behind us was seated immediately. Jump forward, we order our drinks, and was informed the bar didn’t have flavored rums, really, get a full bar, please! Now, 25 minutes later, we finally have our drinks at the table. Our waitress, was absent minded and didn’t seem to know what was going on with the restaurant. Might I add, when she finally came around to ask us for our food order, she spoke to one person at the table and completely ignored the other, and walked off without taking the food order of the second person. Henry’s has lost my business.
Do not go!! The inside is disgusting. The online menu was appeasing so I took my family. This is not at all a family restaurant. After being inside I ordered my son some chicken tenders and the nacho sampler. A friend and her mother were meeting us and when they arrived the host told them they couldn’t come inside keep in mind there was no one in the inside so there was plenty of room. The host literally told my friend and her mom I needed to come to the door if I was really waiting for them. After being uncomfortable in the inside we decided to cancel our nacho order and just get my sons chicken tenders to go. They still billed us for the nachos but because we wanted to get out of there we just paid and left. We didn’t realize they even charged us for the nachos until after we left. Worst experience in Atlanta thus far.
The food was... just alright, but the service was TERRIBLE. This short guy who was hosting and seating people was so rude and unprofessional I literally would have turned around and left if I wasnt starving. Barely greeted us, abruptly jammed a thermometer in my face without any warning at all, and had a totally miserable demeanor. Cant understand how they would let this guy be the restaurants first impression. Then we ordered the Parmesan garlic fries and they just brought us regular fries. When we asked for it to be corrected, they just brought us some cold grated cheese and told us to pour it over the top... just dont bother with this place
Wow. The moment you walk in you smell week old mop water. That’s NEVER A GOOD SIGN. We sat near the door at a high top table and our “server” if you can call her that (because she introduced herself ONCE and remained behind the bar the entire time until we wanted our checks) put in our order of Parmesan fries and ghosted us like someone would after their worst date ever. We sat at the table awaiting our food and alas the “not so good at his job” food runner came and didn’t even place our food on the table. He half way handed it in my boyfriends hand and walked off at the same time. Never knew that type of move was possible. The first batch of “fresh fries” tasted like they were fried twice and then sat for 3-5 mins. The second go around they were worse than the first. Think cold, stale fries and you’ve got a winner... or not. When the server/bartender decided to come and check on us maybe 10mins later she asked us if anyone had come to help us (which she was the one who we were told to be our server). I responded no and we asked for the check. She must have known that this was such a bad experience for us because, she just told us not to worry about it and thanked us. The not so fun part about writing this review is that this place has the ability to be a bomb place with a prime location but this place needs its own “mommy makeover”. I would have given one star but them more making us pay for our underwhelming fries is what pushed them up for a pity star. Also, I have a photo of the fries and their 80B score for the restaurant on my Yelp. The experience is reflective on their poor score.
Some of the food was great, some not so much. Appetizers were awesome, especially the mini baked potatoes. My wings order came wrong, I was ok with it but they insisted on making more even though I declined. The first ones were fine, the second batch was so under cooked it was still bleeding inside, that kinda ended the enjoyment right there and kinda disgusted me. But the garlic parmesan wings are the bomb, plenty of real garlic on it. Ill change the rating if I go again, its worth a second try. Our waitress was awesome.
I am a regular at Henrys. It is probably my favorite outdoor drinking patios in midtown. I do not recommend sitting inside. There is like no atmosphere in there. Also, I do not recommend the food. However, their drinks are great and you can get buckets of beer for cheap. Also, expect to hear at least 1 fire truck while you are sitting outside given the proximity of the fire station. Gay bar friendly.
No wonder they had open tables and no wait. Awful service. Waited another 15 minutes for a server to greet us, after sitting for 10 minutes when a manager said someone would be right with us. And still had to get up and get a waitress ourselves. Waitress still tried to upset us. Will not be coming back. Food was fine. Nothing to write home about.
Food was okay and prices were very reasonable, but the wait was not worth it. We waited 20 minutes for a table, waited 15 minutes for anyone to take our drink order and then another 15 to get the drinks and order food. Surprisingly the food came out in reasonable time, but it was just okay. Mine had elements that were too salty and greasy. We were never able to get more drinks and paying took a long time too. The staff were so friendly and nice, but again the wait time, even after being seated, was too much.
Awesome place for lunch over the weekend.Deck was nice and shady, brought my dogs, who were given ice water immediately.Staff was friendly and readily available.Got the eggs Benedict with short ribs for a reasonable price, and it was delicious!Parking was a bit cramped, but considering the area and busy weekend, it was better than expected for the area.
We came hoping for a nice Sunday brunch. Incredibly slow service and an even slower kitchen. We waited for a server for about 15 minutes after being seated. The only drinks we had were water and coffee. Another 15-20 minutes to get the coffee. Don’t even get me started on the ridiculous wait for our food. Expect to wait an hour for food. Our “starter” came out after our main courses. On top of that, we paid high end prices for low end food. All of the tables around us had a similar experience with their wait time. I have sympathy for the servers because I worked in food service off and on for a few years, but our experience was so bad.
Great eating place here in midtown, and queer friendly. They have a large drink menu with beers, wine and cocktails. I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and a mimosa. The place tends to fill up for brunch on Sundays. Nice atmosphere with some televisions inside. Would recommend for a date or small group, 4 people maximum.
Visiting from out of town. Big foodie here but not a big reviewer on things. But my experience definitely prompts me to leave a review. This is also meant to be a funny review. The Hosting: truly 0 out of 10. First, I came here on Saturday and noticed a line outside. I am alone and willing to wait but i noticed on the sign by the front saying “please wait here to be seated” so after waiting for a little bit, I see the host coming around and then asks me, “how many?” I said, “ just one, me.” Just nods his head and just walks off. Didn’t write my name down. Doesn’t tell me how long the wait time is, just walks off. So i still decided to wait and see if the lines would moving along because finding a bar seat or table for one wouldn’t be that hard. No. I waited for good 30 mins so I left.I came again on Sunday afternoon and was greeted by such an intense amount of sass it was so funny, this tiny tiny host of a man, greets me with a pen in his hand, click clacking with a little notepad in his other hand and goes “how can i help you?” *intense sass, I replied “just need a table for one” and then the host just looks at me, up and down and just walks off, says nothing, just walks away. Right by the waiting area there were these other gentlemen standing there who were talking to the host, i assumed they were friends to the sassy front of house greeter, one of the men ended up asking me “would you like a table outside or inside by the bar” to which I said “which ever one comes up first, it doesn’t matter to me” their reply was simply “okay” and then continued talking amongst themselves. Me standing there just befuddled at the experience, I noticed the sassy host to my right, gesturing me to follow him. Doesn’t come back to get me but tells me follow him from at least 20 feet away. Finally i sit down to where he seats me and then flips the cleaning cloth by my face and begins to clean the table. I felt absolutely disrespected. Like why do they have a toxic gay person as the host in the front. The service: a solid 6. out of 10. Honestly. Good job Blake for showing me kindness in the sea of invisibility, because nobody showed up for 20 mins after i sat down. The food: a 5 out 10. Really could use some work with some flavors, i ordered the chips and salsa. Never in my life i have seen tomato wedges (yeah not chunks, wedges) in a salsa, i thought that was wild. The tortilla chips were well seasoned and had no residue of oil in them. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. I asked for no bacon and no pickles. But the rest was fine, the menu mentions of a chipotle sauce which was nowhere to be found, chicken was very dry and bland it was served with parmesan dusted fries which were good.Overall. I give them 3 stars. I am being very generous, thanks to blake being a great wait-staffer to make my experience somewhat better.
First timers for the wife and I to this restaurant. They were in the Atlanta Dining Out Passbook so we decided to give it a try...its buy one entree get one free - a great deal and a great way for restaurants to introduce themselves. Outdoor patio was really lovely (late summer). Our server was polite & pleasant. We ordered Crab Cakes & Baby Back Ribs... both were nice. Dog friendly!
We went to Henry’s for brunch and ordered the breakfast, smoked salmon, deviled eggs and a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary was just a lot of vodka with tomato juice, no celery no spices, it was undrinkable. I returned it and got a mimosa instead. The deviled eggs were ok, not very good. The breakfast was the worst breakfast I’ve had in a restaurant. The grits looked and tasted like vomit, the bacon was not crispy and the biscuit was just a dry butter bun.The salmon was ok. Not the best.We also ordered coffee, that the waitress was honest enough to say it’s bad. She was right. It came cold, not freshly brewed and tasteless. Also no milk options except half and half.I really do not know how they get more than 2 stars max, and that’s for the location and the waitress. Will never go back again!Do not recommend this for a food place.
Great location awful service. We came for a late afternoon snack and drinks. The place was not very busy with lots of empty tables on the deck yet we were told we had to wait at the bar for a table. About 45 minutes later we were seated surrounded by still empty tables, unbelievable! The server was pleasant and the food was about average. There was a mistake with our order and we had to wait for flatware which would be no big deal if everything else had been well executed. Such a waste of a prime location in midtown. Cannot recommend.
Terrible service! The food was sports bar food at an upscale price. Waited on the patio for 20 minutes before I asked if they were behind. The host said “we only have three people on staff”. We went inside to the bartender and ordered. Food came out and was bland as hell. The whole experience took an hour and a half for chicken fingers and a tuna salad sandwich. The staff that was there wasn’t even trying. Just awful!! Do not come here.
I’ve never understood why people like this place...other than location. We tried to go today. No one was at the host stand. We waited and finally got seated. The restaurant was adhering to COVID rules. They had plenty of staff on hand. However after 10 minutes we decided to leave. No one greeted us or even came by to say a word. This is so typical of Henry’s. Their service has always been terrible and the food is mediocre at best. They are notions for being out of items and/or substituting things without approval.Glad to see that as they try to gain their business back that they continue to cater to people who really don’t care about quality of food or service.
Deck is nice when the weather is good and food is okay. Not bad but nothing special either. A server never came to our table after sitting there for about 15 minutes. As we were leaving to walk somewhere else for dinner I mentioned this to another server who was in the area and she said they were short staffed. Seems from other reviews recently this isnt an isolated incident.
This place had good reviews and we only a block from my hotel, so I figured, why not give it a try. Big mistake. The host was rude and my server was slow. I never received any cutler, nor a napkin. My food was slow in arriving and was cold by the time it got to my table. After my plate was cleared, it took the server another 20 minutes just to bring the bill out to the table. As I was paying by credit card, he had to take my credit card to the bar to run it through. When he came back, he had the receipt for me to sign, but had not brought back my card. It was another 20 minutes before I got my card back. This was one of my worst dining experiences ever. I will definitely not be going back again.
This fun, super casual restaurant is located directly across the street from a Hyatt hotel, but this doesnt mean its crowded with tourists. Quite the opposite, its a regular for locals, driven by the good, consistent food, the fun waitstaff, and the lovely outdoor deck. Seating is ample both inside and out, and outside is pet friendly. Large groups (8+) will probably be seated inside, where theyre a bit easier for the staff to manage. This establishment is family friendly, and the outside deck lends itself to dates. Enjoy!
If you’re looking for the perfect outdoor dining location you must dine at Henry’s Midtown Tavern in Atlanta. Upon my arrival there was a pretty long line, but the staff was awesome, and fast. My wait time for a table was about thirty minutes. You are required to wear a mask to walk through the restaurant to get to your seating, but once at your table you’re welcome to remove your mask.I ordered the diner burger, and parmesan french fries. The diner burger was absolutely delicious! The patty was perfectly cooked, slab bacon was on point, and it was topped off with golden grilled onions as well.Although peaking over 85 degrees in temps outside it didn’t feel like it, because the patio dining is perfectly covered with big trees blocking the sun off everyone. The customer service was good, everyone worked together to make the dining experience great, and the staff was cleaning non stop. While dining at Henry’s you’re surrounded by the vibrant hustle of city life passing by in front of you with young adults passing on skooters, singles, and couples dog walking, and people sight seeing in the city. Stop at #HenrysMidtownTavern the next time you’re in Atlanta.
Everything was great from the food to the outdoor seating. The long Islands were good. I had the chesse burger with bacon and my girlfriend had the steak and eggs. Really loved the biscuits very good. In the weather was perfect for today. Most definitely a good spot to pick. Its also pet friendly. Nice music from the 80s. Definitely will come back
We came In today around 3:00 . When we first got there it seemed ok-our table was outside. James C said he would be right with us but that was a 15 minute delay. When he took our drink order which took another 10 minutes. When we finally got our drinks I discovered a long piece of hair in my drink. In the state of our health environment you would Think there be better quality control. When mention to James C his attitude was not to concerned and it off our check!!! The attitude through the whole service was awful. We will not return!!!!
Came to this small restaurant they charged my card twice for two separate amounts. Said it was an accident at first. Then stated they didn’t charge me twice when obviously the money is taken out of my account and charged to “Henry’s Midtown”. Now they’re saying they’re unable to assist me with getting my money back and I can “come by and see for myself” when I live out of state. Definitely wouldn’t recommend eating somewhere where they take advantage of their out of state customers and aren’t even considerate about a mistake that their employee made!!! Worst experience ever.
4/27/18 This is the third time we have been here this week. We got the worst service ever and honestly not rushing to come back. We were there for 30 minutes and received no water or waiter. So I went to the host and asked for our server and water. He comes back a few minutes later and tells me we only have 3 servers, it might be awhile sorry. Honestly, stop seating people if you cant handle it. Go on a wait. Its not hard and stop telling your customers to get their own water from the back bar when we have a dog. Super unprofessional and not happy.
I enjoyed the crab cakes today...the atmosphere was awesome...and the server was friendly today. The crab cakes were delicious, but they couldve been a little bit bigger, or maybe 1 or 2 more couldve been included...but they were delicious. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience.
Finally, I made my arrival. Overall the experience was pretty good and food was much better than expected. I can see the Tavern much more as great weekend/Brunch spot. The beer menu is pretty good and has some variety. I believe we ordered every appetizer on the menu, the chicken I liked the most with what I assume was some type of teriyaki sauce.Just a redesign suggestion if its ever considered, if the wall for the inside bar was open to the patio would make it an even more epic experience. Just Saying!
I always eat outside. So no idea about inside. Food is consistently good. Ive had a lot off the menu. Their fries are hands down best in Midtown. The staff are super friendly. Some may be a bit distractable and just take their time throughout the meal. At least the last waitress I had there ignored us for longer than normal between checking in. Pierre on the other hand is the best waiter there.
Wow. I found Henry’s thinking I would run in for a quick bite. Little did I know, the bartender Josh, would keep me captivated at the bar with good conversation and better drinks. He single handily made an average brunch into an experience. So so much fun. Can’t wait to go back.
Great atmosphere! The outdoor patio is great for a lunch or late brunch outside. Would highly recommend the parmesan fries. There arent many vegetarian options (they dont have a veggie burger and only have 1 veggie taco and 1 veggie sandwich), but all the food is fresh and service is pretty quick. They also have their own parking out back.
The atmosphere is chill. The service was great. Dog friendly deck. The food was middle of the road. The Mexico City dog was tasty and well prepared. My fries were poorly cooked; some undercooked and some overcooked. The Mac and cheese was ok. The ahi tuna pizza was ok.
Came on a Monday around 330p so it wasn’t busy. Was greeted and sat immediately. Ordered the salmon burger and added bacon to it. Aoli and cucumber were good on the burger. Might suggest adding lettuce next time. Also had nachos with chicken. Nachos were ok but we did eat them all so clearly they weren’t too bad. Nice atmosphere. Mellow music. Trenton was our server.
The brunch was good. The Crab Cake Benedict was soft and full of flavor. Steak and eggs were cooked well. Fruit was good too. My 2 complaints are that hashbrowns potatoes were blah and the entire restaurant smelled like a urinal. Im not trying to be mean. Seriously. It smelled like a bathroom. I was really put off by it. If I go back Im sitting outside.
There is little to suggest Henrys for, there are many other options well within walking distance that I would rate higher. Food quality and service is so-so, price is a bit high for the offerings. The patio is nice and accessible, beyond that its just another option.
We had 7 people total at the table and not one person loved their food. The best thing was their mussels and they were just okay. I had the fish taco with a jalepeno sauce. The sauce was just green no flavor at all the fish tasted weird and for 4.99 a taco it was not worth it. Two people had the crab cakes they were small in size, had a good amount of filler and were over cooked and dry. Being honest I was so happy to get out of the place. For the price and vibe they give off not a place any of the 7 of us plan to go again.
I am leaving two stars only because the bartender was excellent and highly accommodating (we got a drink while we waited for a table to open up). Otherwise one star all the way. This is the worst service I have encountered in Atlanta. We waited for ~20 minutes after being seated before actually dragging a server down to wait on us. We then waited another ~30 minutes plus after ordering an appetizer for the crab cakes to come out They seemed to be tasty ... Unfortunately they were also stone cold. Mind you, the restaurant was not busy while all this was occurring.Maybe they were having an off night, but I will not return. Nice deck though. It is too bad management and service is so poor.
So...the service here was horrific. It took entirely too long to get drinks and appetizers. Watching the wait staff was eye opening. They all seemed to be spinning their wheels with no clear direction. A customer spilled water on the floor and 33 minutes later the water was still on the floor, even though the staff was informed of the spill moments after it happened. Although the food was good, I cannot recommend this restaurant until management deals with some of the glaring issues here.
The food is actually really good which is why I gave an extra star. But the service is horrible. In the last two times I’ve gone the servers are no where to be found. The first time I went me and my friend were together and after our server greeted us she came back 10 minutes later and said i forgot all about you guys and laughed it off. Wasn’t funny to me at all. Last night we get seated and it takes 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. Host saw us sitting did nothing, servers walked by saw did nothing. Just unacceptable and no excuse for it. Our food took forever too and they messed up my friends food. So get your service together and you might actually have a decent restaurant
Henrys was not the place to be! So we went to Henrys for dinner arrived was seated and greeted. We received drinks in good timing and when it was time to order the waiter informed us they were out of mash potatoes and baby back ribs. Ok so we asked what do you have left on the menu. He said just those two items everything else we could order. So we proceeded to order our dinner and our waiter comes back to inform us that some of the items we ordered wasnt available. We then order something else. When we received the order the food brown on the outside and raw in the middle. How so we waited for hours. We finally ask for the manager and ended up leaving hungry.
This was pretty good. Not the best. The server was a bit dry, but not rude. Also, the chicken fingers we had was almost as dry. However. Their parmesan fries and spicey ketchup was amazing! I am not certain if I would go back. But, it was quite pretty. Parking was full so had to pay.
This place f**king sux big time. Couldnt tell you about the food. Couldnt wait that long. Nor the drinks. Because they was out of the rum needed. Everyone else in my party drinks was mixed incorrectly. It took over 40 minutes for our order to be taken. Update Hayden was awesome and got me food fast. The food is okay. But this place is more about location and too trendy of a spot.
I was excited to finally try out Henrys but it was a bust. Went on a Sunday at around 5:30, it was moderately busy. The two of us were seated on the patio, and for around 15 minutes didnt receive so much as a glance from a single waiter. About half of the tables were taken, so there were plenty of waiters regularly visiting the patio and taking care of the tables RIGHT next to us. It was ridiculous that we received zero service for 15 minutes while we were clearly ready to order (at the very least ask for a freaking water). We kept waiting to see if somebody would eventually get around to say a single word to us, but nope. Ended up walking out and going to the Vortex down the street where we had excellent service as usual.
Henry’s USA really nice place to hangout, watch Sunday NFL foorball games and have drinks and/or a meal. The wait staff are friendly, courteous and professional. The food is good, hot and served quickly; and they have a wide variety of frozen drinks that are delicious especially on a hot summer day/evening. I highly recommend Henry’s if you find yourself in Midtown Atlanta
Ordered a mushroom and swiss burger and 2 chicken tacos to go. Ordered the burger medium rare and it was plated over well done. The bread was stale and hard. I attempted to call Henrys but they decided to not pickup the 4 calls during a slow lunch hour. I just left there. I didnt call to get my money back or to get new food. I was simply calling to alert the staff and to use this as a coaching moment. But their failure to answer the phone has necessitated this review. Hopefully they get it right next time. This place has potential if they take it more serious.
I have never left disappointed! After one year where we couldnt get in any where on New Years day, we kind of stopped off in Henrys. Its been four years and now its a tradition to go every New Years day. The cocktails and frozen cocktails are well crafted (including a frozen mimosa), the crabcakes are always high quality, and the baby baked pork potatoes are awesome too. The staff is always super nice, and the patio is great when its a bit warmer. This year on NYD they were out of the Heath bar pie dessert, but Im not going into 2020 without it. Ill be back, I WILL GET THAT PIE! Its like my year hasnt started yet without it.
This bar has a great patio and is in a great location, so I really want to love it, but god damn the service is awful and the food is incredibly mediocre. It takes forever to get your drinks and put in your food order, and when you finally get them its obvious theyve just been sitting out because frozen drinks will be melted and warm foods will be cold. And this is not based on just one visit, it is very consistently like this.
The food was fine..the chili cheese fries were great though. Our server was not pleasant. He messed up my order, then tried to blame me...but then again, I should have known he would not be good when it took him 15 minutes to acknowledge us..and then another 20 minutes to check on us...He finished by telling us he was giving our table to another server bc he was ending his shift, but he continued to check on 2 other tables while simultaneously ignoring us. The manager was very friendly though.
Visited 11/8: Plastic on my garlic bread. Server disappeared for 20-25 minutes on me and 2 friends from out of town. A gentleman right next to us that came in 15 minutes after we had got his drink and food nearly immediately, but we got nothing. Servers need structure &/or better management; but this place still remains a staple in my heart. We’re all in the service industry and understand that things happen, but this was genuinely terrible service.
I have given this restaurant many opportunities to improve, but each time I visit is more disappointing than the last. Everything is poor quality: the cleanliness (especially the restrooms), the service, the food, and especially the management. First, the cleanliness: I get that its a bar and grills, so Im not looking for it to be spotless. However each time I have been the floor and tables have been dirty and the restroom deplorable. Second, service: it is very clear that the service staff are not effectively trained. The service staff are nice for the most part, but are slow, leave drinks empty, and rarely check in with the guests. I have also seen/heard that the management staff treat employees poorly by not paying them on time and dismissing them with no explanation. Third, the food: just dont. The food is equilivent to an overpriced Applebees. Its greasy, poorly prepared, and often not seasoned appropriately. From appetizers to desert, Ive never had anything I would want to eat again. And lastly, the management/ownership: Maureen, the owner is abrupt, rude, and dismissing when anything is brought to her attention. She also plays favorites, and only allows reservations for her friends during large events to which she then attempts to cover up with a lie. My partner attempted to book a reservation for brunch this past weekend and each time was met with another road block. The stories constantly change, but the bottom line is that Maureen will make up any lie to let her friends in without a wait. Finally, he went in person to which he was informed that reservations were not being accepted but they would be opening sharply at 10am. When we arrived at 10am, the story was they were taking reservations only, which is a dialect to the previous information provided. Henrys might be nice on the outside, but dont worry, its a cover up of an overpriced and poorly run Applebees. If you want a LGBTQ friendly restaurant in the 10th/Piedmont area, I would recommend Einsteins or Joes.
It was pretty decent. The patio is nice, the food was average. The hamburgers I got were pretty dry but still fairly tasty. The nachoes were a bit odd. They poured the queso cheese at the bottom of the empty plate...then put chips...then put a very little amount on top of the chips..
The patio was adorable. It was the main reason we chose to eat lunch here. Everything else was subpar. Our server was unhelpful and not friendly. It took 15 minutes for her to finally acknowledge us after we were seated. The only time we saw her after that was when she FINALLY brought us the check. My fries were amazing, and my sisters guac burger was good. However, the salmon burger was terrible. We were also harassed by a panhandler while eating our lunch on the patio.
The drinks were amazing and cheap so that was a double plus. We ordered the wings and I honestly thought the garlic wings were better than the teriyaki. The bartender was very nice and the guys sitting next to us. So its a good place for conversation and pre game drinks. Definitely will be returning!!
A friend and I had dinner on 02/22/20 our server Devan was very inattentive to us and failed to check to make sure our food was correct. He told us he had a party so he was gone the whole time helping another table. Some of the other servers noticed we needed to cash out. This is unacceptable and the server shouldve notified his manger he needed help so that his other tables did not receive poor service as we did.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I do not recommend this place at all. This past saturday we had family over for the holidays and decided to try this place before going to Cirque du Soleil . The place was empty I would say maybe another 2 or 3 small parties. We got there at 6 . Ordered our drinks which were not the best. Waitress took our order and it took almost 50 minutes to get the first 3 then another 15 minutes to get the other 3 and another 15 minutes to get the last 3. The waitress then came out and asked if we wanted the last couple of sandwiches to GO!!! because we were in a rush. Totally unnaceptable. Needless to say we will never go back.
I ordered on DoorDash so I’m not sure how the atmosphere is but I drive pass Henry’s all the time on my way home so I decided to order from there because the parking lot is always full, bad idea. I ordered the roasted chicken and there wasn’t a DROP of seasoning on it. It literally looked like it was cleaned and placed directly in the oven and had the nerve to be over cooked. The Mac n Cheese was extremely dry meaning hardly any cheese and a lot of noodles and the kale well was just kale. I couldn’t really report anything on DoorDash because it’s not like the food was incorrect or anything but I will say this was the blandest meal I’ve ever had in my entire life .
I am not happy at all at the way at the way they have treated my parents. It all started when they were going to enter the resturant with a reservation. As policy for covid 19 they have all patrons stand outside to get temperature checked. Fantastic! However this turned into a problem. When the weather outside is 92 degrees and while standing outside in the sun your skin temperature rises. So taking a test that checks your temperature using an infrared thermometer while standing in the sun is highly inaccurate and gives off false readings. My parents who were standing in line for about 10 minutes got to the front and got thier temperatures taken 107 an 108 respectively. They were asked to step to the side, outside, and were given water to cool down. No problems so far. But things went pear shaped when a couple behind them who were white had the same temperature readings and were motioned inside to cool down. No one asked if they had a reservation but my parents were grilled about whether or not they had one. and have thier temperatures checked again, while the rest of the line (predominantly people of color) were told to stand outside and wait. Horrified at this action they left with no plans to return.
Me and my mother went here during a handson concert about 4ish months ago. The staff were nice enough to let me park behind the bar since I would be in town awhile and Id be drinking and eating there through the day. The female bar tender even offered an amazing experience with lemon drop shots in honor of my recently passed 21st birthday and that my mom and I were drinking together for the first time. The food smelled wonderful and looked amazing- though my mom and I only ended up getting drinks. The staff all around were amazing and I loved this establishment so much Ive decided to try a revisit it sometime in the future. Though due to Im from out of state it may take awhile.Anyways I highly recommend this place and hope all the staff are doing well!

2022-05-29One of the best patios in the city. Lovely trees, shaded, strung lights, city views. Great cocktails. The cucumber martini is so refreshing and Old Fashion is smooth! Excellent service. The wedge salad is a great light choice. In the other direction is the hot dog! They have different hot dogs but they are all meat from the Spotted Trotter butcher shop in East Atlanta. You cant go wrong with Spotted Trotter! Great brunch or lunch spot!

2022-03-24Great Midtown Locations With An Awesome AtmosphereI went with my mother for a late lunch to Henrys Midtown Tavern in Atlanta on a Wednesday afternoon mid-November. Since the weather was nice we sat at the outside patio under a tree and the atmosphere was awesome. Our waiter was very attentive and provided great service. The restaurant owner Maureen stopped by our table and chatted with us for a moment. I ate crab cakes with fries and mother had a vegetarian sandwich. The food was tasty and we are looking forward to going back soon.

2021-10-27Had a quick lunch and cocktail here. Asa was awesome! He was extremely personable and attentive. The Basil Smash was rather good but the Ahi Tuna Pizza was mind blowing. Here for two weeks and I will certainly be back to try more!

2022-06-18Henry’s was amazing. My husband and I stumbled across this jewel while looking for a place to eat. I had the smoked salmon (added eggs) along with a double mimosa (both were amazingly delicious) and my husband tried the salmon burger with Parmesan fries (a must try) and Long Island iced tea. Our server was awesome and knowledgeable of the menu. It’s definitely worth our hour drive to the city!

2022-05-06Tall about quick and delicious. Was sat with prompt service and had our appetizers and drinks in less than 5 minutes. Menu is very bar food friendly so no overly complex dishes, but everything we had was superb. I highly recommend the baby backed potato appetizer. It was Fantastic!!!

2021-09-02We stopped by to grab a bite or two but we were told the kitchen was closed. We decided to order a drink and I forgot the name of the drink but it was recommended by our server. The rim of the cup was cover (dipped) with honey, which was a bad idea because it dripped all over the side of the cup making it very sticky. The cup was full of ice so the drink was watered-down. But our server was very nice and brought me an extra shot of whisky.

2021-09-19Was walking around Midtown looking for a place to eat and I came across this cute place!! First thing i can say is the staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming. I got seated and decided to try the Chicken Fingers and also got a side of chips and queso!! Love the chips and queso— i wanna come back with a friend just to snack on them. I think this would be a great place to stop and eat before a play or activity. My food didn’t take long to come out and it had a fun, upbeat environment. I definitely recommend trying Henry’s if your interested!!
