Great Veterinary Practice. I have been taking my dogs to Hickory Flat for over 20 years. My mom also takes her dogs to Hickory Flat. Dr. Partin has been the primary vet that sees and has seen my pets but my dogs also see the other vets in the clinic. I have not had a bad experience with Hickory Flat Animal Hospital. That goes for the entire staff. They go above and beyond to do what is needed for your pets and you. There have been times when one of my pets needed a specialist and it was recommended that I go further with their care, which I have. I appreciate the fact that if the vet feels that a specialist is required or a second opinion is asked for I am given the name and location of a specialist for my pet to be seen by. This veterinary clinic cares about the animals and people that come through their doors and they prove that every time you and your pets walk through the door. Any time I am asked where I take my dogs for veterinary care I do not hesitate to tell them Hickory Flat Animal Hospital.
This is by far the best veterinarian I have ever been to. Everyone that works here is caring and understanding and will go the extra mile to help both you and your pet. I have been taking my pets here for 18 years and would not dream of going any place else. I have been there often lately with a very sick dog. Everyone in there knows the situation and always wants to know how he is doing. I dont think I could ever find another vet that has such a caring and wonderful staff - many of them have been there since I started going to HFAH. All 3 of the veterinarians are great so it doesnt matter which one you have an appointment with you will be very pleased with their professionalism and knowledge of veterinary science. They also know the best places to refer to around town and have helped us get specialty appointments really fast. If you are looking for a new vet or if you have just moved to the area you should make this your first choice for your pets care.
I have lived in Ga for almost 3 years now. I am a former Rescuer and have 8 dogs, a cat and two horses. A friend told me about Hickory Flat A.H after having a very bad experience at another Vet. I have brought several of my animals to them now , having seen all 3 Vets in the practice. I LOVE all of them ! They are all wonderful , compassionate , honest people that genuinely care ! The entire staff makes you feel comfortable as soon as you enter the building. They are also very reasonable with their pricing. I am more then satisfied with this practice !
We have been using Dr Partin and her establishment for 21 years. Weve had a lot of dogs in our life and Julia has been there through all of them. Not only do you get the benefit of regular veterinarian medicine from her but also holistic. There have been times when Western medicine would not have worked with my dogs but due to her vast knowledge of holistic medication my dogs have pulled through. When the time had come for some of my dogs to cross over we werent treated as a wham-bam its done client. Julia and her team are there with such great emotional support while it was having to be done. If your pet needs extended care/treatment and are on the fence about it, they are very very good at laying out all your options from treatment to cost. You cant go wrong in getting the best pet care when you use this place.
New client. I like how they have handled the Covid-19 situation and vet appointments. Dr Lindner has been so helpful with answering lots of follow up phone calls from me Great impression so far! Staff has been very helpful and friendly as well.
My cat loves Dr. Scott! Well, love is a strong word... lets just say she is extremely tolerant of him. Dr. Scott and the staff are so good and gentle with her and make her feel at ease. I took her there once for a non-emergency issue and they fixed her right up. Dr. Scott even called personally after a few days to check up on our kitty. We just got back from her annual and I cant believe how well-behaved she was... something about the staff and the office puts my cat at ease. Positive experience all-around!
I have been using Hickory Flat Animal Hospital since we first got our two cats from a local shelter. Everyone on staff has always been kind, caring, and helpful. Recently, one of our cats, now close to 19 years old, fell ill. The doctor patiently talked me through all possible treatments for my cat, and when the cat did not respond, the kind folks at Hickory Flat got me through a difficult euthanasia process. I cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital.
Always a great experience, excellent veterinarians, long term personable staff. Weve used their services for 25+ hrs. Great people who love our pets as we do.
My animals have been patients at Hickory Flat Animal Hospital for almost 15 years. The doctors have always been available, even at a moments notice, when my cats got into mischief! The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate. I wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else!

Nice, clean place, with friendly and helpful staff. Dr. Partin was such a blessing to us for our dog. She gave us options, counsel, and was a comfort to us about how to treat our furbaby. When the time came that we had to let him go, she and the staff helped us through that difficult process and the time period. I cannot thank her enough for her sage advice, her wise words, her comfort and caring, and for stellar care for our pet for as long as we could feasibly keep him around.
We recently changed vets because a very sick cat of ours couldnt be seen in a timely manner, but these wonderful vets immediately saw our Buddy, diagnosed and referred him to an emergency clinic in Alpharetta. Unfortunately Buddy only lasted a few days with kidney failure but you all followed up with kind condolences. Humanity we were unused to and grateful for. His brother Bo is a patient now and our new rescue cat Teddy will be visiting this week. Great Vets. Great People!
Hickory Flat Animal Hospital has been taking care of our animals for 12 years. We just lost an aging pet and they were so caring to us during the whole process. They have alot of heart and great staff!!
I first learned of Dr. Partin from my neighbor who happens to work for Dr. Partin. I recently moved and didnt know where to take my fur baby. My neighbor Annie went above and beyond when I was out of town and my dog had an injury. She came to my house and checked to see if my dog needed medical attention. She set up an appointment the next morning and made sure my dog was taken care of. I have since recommended 6 new families in our neighborhood to Dr. Partin. She provides excellent care from the moment you walk in to the door. She has hired an excellent staff and I feel confident recommending her practice. Thank you Annie for being an excellent example of the kind of care to expect from an exceptional vet practice.
Absolutely the best place ever!!! (And my dogs think so too) The office is clean, well-organized and staffed by friendly, competent technicians and doctors. My dog Athena loves them. She was better the next day. We will be back for all of are vet needs.

They really care about your pet here. I also got some advice on behavior issues my dog was having. Received a recommendation to go here from an associate of CAN animal rescue who was previously a vet tech.Ive been here with both my dogs and highly recommend.

Dr. Partin is celebrating 25 years in Hickory Flat a milestone that she has earned with the communitys respect and admiration and love for how she has taken care of all of our pets! Shes a wonderful person and were so proud of her service to the area! Dr. Fredericks is a great Veterinarian as well as he takes his time to explain in a way a laymen can understand the diagnosis! He is so gentle with my lab and Beaux loves him! This is a great place to bring your pet! We have been going here almost as long as the doors have been open. Dr. Partin worked miracles with our aging dog. After numerous visits to another vet, it became clear conventional treatments were not working. Dr. Partins mix of acupuncture and herbal supplements had him feeling better and behaving like he was years younger. I cannot express how grateful we are to have more time to enjoy our dog.
Hickory Flat Animal Hospital is a wonderful veterinary clinic. I recommend them to all of my family and friends. We use Dr. Lindner as our primary vet but Dr. Partin and Dr. Friedrichs are awesome too. The front desk staff is always friendly, helpful and courteous. Love these guys!!

Its in the small leads very very nice people there. Even though the vet did not have an opening for a month and a 1/2 She still worked me in to her schedule to try to help my rooster. Didnt even charge me full price for her travels. They took very good care of me the last time I had to put a rooster down nice well as.i Highly recommend her
Always a friendly caring staff, giving full attention needed for their patients. I have had animals all my life and have experienced several different vet clinics. This one, by far exceeds any of them. I highly recommend HFAH!
Love these people and they are genuine animal lovers. The doctors are caring and listen to you. They call to follow up on the sick fur children and give lots of hugs, scratches and compliments...to your fur baby, anytime you visit.
Wish i could give 0... brought my dog in and they said she was perfectly healthy just underweight (she was being weird and we knew something was wrong) they sent us home and told us to wait for tests, but ended up having to bring her in two days later because she could barely breathe and we were worried. turns out she had fluid all in her lungs which they should’ve caught considering they listened to her breathing just two days before. anyways, we had to put her down and it was the worst experience ever. they were not simpathetic one bit and were quite rude about the loss of our best friend. will not be bringing any other animals back. if your animal is sick or you think something is wrong, go somewhere else that can actually help you. wish we would’ve chosen somewhere else, my girl could still be here with us.
The doctors and staff are absolutely wonderful and treat my furry family with love and compassion, as if they were their own. I have been a client for almost 25 years and highly recommend them.
I have been bringing my pets here for close to 25 years. I now have a service dog that I bring here from Acworth. I can only speak for Dr Partin, she is very good and caring. The parking area is small, but it is worth going here.

An employee by the name of Cindy was very rude to me.She had an attitude when trying to ask questions regarding my pet. I wanted to make an appointment but after talking to Cindy, I changed my mind. If they treat people rude, how do they treat animals?I found somewhere else. After Cindy was rude to me, I concluded they weren’t interested in my business. I’ll spend my hard earned money elsewhere.
We have been trying to find help for our foster, who is always tense, rarely sleeps, is allergic to many foods, and not very affectionate. I had taken him to two specialists and three different vets before I had him see Dr. Partin. Dr. Partin suggested having him tested for Bartonella even though he didnt have the red line on his gums that is a hallmark for this. The test came back a strong positive for the infection, and within one day of the first treatment, he became like a different cat. He sleeps now as all cats do and should be able to do, lounges comfortably when not sleeping, and has become the most affectionate cat. Hes like a totally new cat, and it is with such relief and gratitude that I watch him sleep, relax, and stretch - just as any normal cat we know lives his life. I would never have known about or had him tested for this infection, but Dr. Partin advised it, since she has seen it in other cats previously forced to live outside. I now have hope for him as someone who can enjoy rather than endure his life, and I have hope that we will be able to find him a home, since he now appears both well and has become super affectionate. I was experiencing an emergency situation with my dog, and my regular vet couldn’t fit me in quickly enough. I called Hickory Flat Animal Hospital in a panicked state, and they told me that I could come immediately. Dr. Linder was able to quickly diagnose the problem and treat effectively. I am so grateful for their concern, service and sense of urgency. I will be going here for any of my dog’s future needs.
They came highly recommended by my aunt and she was right. Very kind, gentle with my old fella and compassionate about our situation. Very helpful and fairly priced

Dr. Partin is amazing I would highly recommend her to anyone! Her office is really clean and if she cant help your pet she will always recommend a specialist that is equally awesome.
They caught an error by my online pharmacy and I was able to fix it before my pup went without. It was above and beyond that they caught another companies error and gave me a call so I knew to do something. Thank you!!!

2021-11-05Took great care of my super anxious dog on the very first visit. After years of visits to other vets who couldn’t ever get a blood draw, these guys got it on first visit without meds and without freaking my pup out. The best!

2017-07-31Dr. Partin has given my Corgi/Shepherd new life 100% holistically. Dr. Partin, adjusted her spine so gently and will continue to keep her energetically balanced with Chinese herbs, quality supplements and a balanced whole foods diet and snacks. Annabelle is 9.5 and diagnosed over a year ago with spondylosis and severe hip dysplasia, she had thrown a disc in her back and her rear leg function was wobbly at best. She also had severe reoccurring infections around her vulva and she was regularly chewing open her hip from constant nerve pulses and pain. After rounds of antibiotics that caused antibiotic resistance and a dog that was beyond miserable and darting around trying to escape the painful nerve pulses she was battling, I found Dr. Partin online and AM SO GLAD I DID!! Shes wonderfully in tune with Annabelle, who normally hates the vets, but not Dr. Partin! She actually drags me into the office. At home I ask Annabelle if she wants to see Dr. Partin and she runs to the door : ) Dr. Partin has all the best traditional AND alternative medical education, but more than that she has a natural gift with animals that I dont think even the best Vet schools can teach. Annabelles degenerative spine and hips are not the death sentence every other Vet pushed on her. My girl wants to play again and no longer has chronic overactive nerve itchiness. Shes got puppy energy again and this after just one visit with Dr. Partin. She is kind, agreeable, enjoyable to be around and you know she is on your team from day one. She truly wants to help and she does!! I dont know how she stays so calm and steady, because I came to her completely frazzled! If you are lost dealing with difficult health issues with your pet there is only one place in GA to go, Hickory Flat Animal Hospital - Dr. Partin!!! PS. The office staff has always been delightful and super accommodating as well! Annabelle doesnt play well with other animals so they literally clear the way for Annabelle to get into the first exam room in peace. I cant explain how much stress this relieves in our visits. The picture below is one happy Annabelle right after her adjustment with Dr. Partin. That smile says it all!

2018-11-20Hi Dr. Partin and crew! This is Annabelle. Im feeling so good today, mom said I could use her computer : ) Just want to say Happy Thanksgiving to my favorite human Angel and healer. My tail is at full wag because you take such good care of me all year long. Im going to turn 11 soon and its all because of you. Every other vet gave up on me and said my back and hips were too bad to recover and wanted me on pills that made me feel so sick. But not you Dr. Partin! You saw right through my growls to my pain and you gave me the best herbs to make me feel PAWSOME again! I run and play and keep my parents on their toes. I dont itch and scratch and bite myself from horrible nerve tingles all day anymore either. I havent had to wear my cone in months! You have my nervous system all balanced and happy and now I get to live my best retirement years. I know Im a little high maintenance, but you are all so kind to make way for my entry every visit. You really do make me feel like a Queen ( I am actually, but not everyone understands this like you do!). I know you dont have the easiest jobs, I see how crazy those humans can get sometimes, sheesh, they really can be exhausting!!! Thank you for always keeping your smiles, sweet spirits and fighting for every pets best. Youre on the top of our Most Grateful For List and I wanted to make sure you knew that! Ok, gotta run! Im the taste tester in the kitchen for all the yummy Thanksgiving treats my moms making.MMMMMM TURKEYYYYYY!!!! : )))))) PS. 2021-03-01My husband & I have had animals our entire lives and we have used many vets depending on where we lived. Hickory Flat Animal Hospital is by far the BEST, most compassionate and caring team we’ve ever had. Our sweet border collie Bella recently (January 2021) had to have very large cysts surgically removed off her back and Dr. Fredricks was the vet who did surgery. He did the BEST job anyone could have possibly done; The entire process was difficult and scary but the 10 inch incision and the other smaller cut was precise, clean, and she healed perfectly! The ENTIRE team from the front of the house to the back was so kind, so compassionate, incredibly professional while helping my family deal with a very stressful and scary surgery for my sweet Bella. The very next morning after surgery Dr. Linder called to check on Bella & I told her Bella seemed to be very uncomfortable and in pain. She said to bring her right away and she injected her with pain meds so my sweet Bella was made comfortable once again. The front office staff called me throughout the week to check on her and they always took my calls with such care and love; they really listened to me! I simply can’t say enough to explain how truly wonderful they ALL were through it all! Dr. Fredricks even listened to me cry the morning of surgery to my financial crises as my husband is currently going through stage 4 melanoma treatment and 15 surgeries of his own. He was nothing but kind and compassionate, offering to help me with a payment plan, and putting my weary soul at ease to focus on Bella’s surgery that she needed so badly. Thank you Dr. Fredricks, thank you to the entire team at Hickory Flat Animal Hospital! They are truly Heaven sent, amazing people who will love and care for your sweet fur babies AND you as well! Thank God for this wonderful place! I will NEVER use another vet as long as they’re there and I recommend them to ALL families with furry family members! This is only 1 instance I’m describing, as they’ve been incredible every time I need them. Once I called them after 5:00 (after closing) with an emergency situation and they stayed to have Bella looked at! The list goes on & on. Please, please use them. 2021-02-16I was surprise to see when the main Doctor (Dr. Fredericks) is not in the office the level of treatment goes down significantly, but the charges are the same as if the main doctor saw my dog. My dog have cherry eye and was told by the substitute doctor to wait for dog to get older and bigger; no age or weight was given. The main doctor locked at my dog folder and suggested that I take dog to an eye specialist to do the same surgery they do at this location. This location is only good to keep dog updated on shots and to have the nails clipped from time to time. That is it. Will not be bringing my dog back to that location

2020-03-02Dr. Partin made the time to examine my dog and get to know him prior to asking questions or reviewing his previous health files. Only then did we discuss his issues. I found this remarkable as she made a independent evaluation first. My dog went fro being an extremely sick dog to returning to a happy, frisky one.

They listen and understand and do not push you to do things you can’t afford or don’t want to do. I highly recommend them. I have been to a lot of vets in the area and this practice is by far the best!
