This has been the worst IHG hotel Ive stayed, terrible service, the hotel smells like everybody was smoking, the room was not clean. I tried to call the front desk for a timeframe of 2hrs and nobody answer the phone, went down and nobody was there. Waited 25 minutes and nobody showed up.
The staff was friendly, personable, helpful when we checked in and when we checked out. The facility is sparkling clean.Breakfast far exceeded what we have been experiencing when staying on the road. Lots of choices, good hot food and fresh fruit. Our room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable
1. Actually have breakfast. There was only breakfast for 1 of the 3 days on my stay. I understood the reasoning for not having it Thanksgiving morning (to give the workers a day off), and notice was given beforehand; but to not have it on Saturday because you dont have workers available isnt, especially at the nightly rates charged for the stay (Thursday was appropriately a little less for the night, but there was no compensation for no breakfast on Saturday, which had the highest nightly rate and no notice given.2. A smoke detector in a nearby room was chirping for 2 days, and it made it harder to get a good sleep. I reported it after the first night, but nothing was done to fix it.
My husband and I stayed here this past week. We had a death in the family and were attending the funeral in the area. The hotel was clean, and the room was well equipped with all the expected amenities, including mini fridge, microwave, blow dryer, etc.. But what really stood out about the hotel was their management. Justine and Charles were top notch! Our family needed somewhere to meet after the funeral to share a meal, and time together. Rather than trying to get 20 people into a restaurant, I wanted to find a venue. The hotel offered their commons area to us at no additional charge. It was perfect for our needs, and what a relief to not have the additional expense of renting a venue. In addition to offering the space, they were so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel for a clean, smooth stay and exceptional service.
Although it is a convenient and quiet location, this Holiday Inn Express was not our usual experience with this company. This hotel was not very clean, it hasn’t been updated other than the lobby, the breakfast was not well attended, supplies were not readily available, tables are broken, they did not have change for the washer / dryer (it required quarters that we had to leave the building to find), the air units are loud. I do understand that most places are running on skeleton crews, but the cleanliness issues at the front lobby and elevator are a terrible first impression.
The desk was very helpful. The area was fine to stay in on our way back to Michigan. However, themain bathroom light didnt work, the light between the beds didnt work, the lamp shade on the desk was dirty. There was no bar soap - had to go ask for it. Just wasnt as maintained as most Holiday Inn Express locations. Breakfast was fine and the lady at the desk who checked us in and out - was super helpful.
Positive: The room was nice and clean and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. All staff members were very nice and helpful. I had a problem with the desk chair and they came up immediately and changed it out Negative: The carpets in the hallways were dirty..had spots..and air conditioning was off..hallways smelled mu sty Internet service was spotty.
When I moved to TN from Florida, I always stopped here. It is a great place to stay after traveling all day and then going through Atlanta rush hour traffic. My family stops for here also. The staff have really been good to me. They have always been polite and very respectful and professional. My past stays, I never had a problem until this last time. The staff were still polite, very respectful and professional. I did not need a room change, but they offered and I refused it. The mattress was very comfortable, I was out cold in minutes. The building is in need of repair and I was informed they will be remodeling soon. I will be back here again on my trips back from Florida.
200 bucks a night is high for a HIE. We ran out of towels and often were not able to get more from the front desk. We ran out of toilet paper and were only given one roll even after asking for more because we had 4 more nights. Almost no hand sanitizer in any of the dispensers. A molding from the closet fell off and cut and bruised my arm. Our room was next to the front lobby and the staff was really noisy at 6am getting ready. Breakfast food ran out several times and we had to wait. Our room was constantly moist. A chair in the room was wet. The young man at night at the front desk was new but tried really hard. Ive stayed at many Holiday Inns before and I think this one was the worst.
I had an actual cockroach crawl across my legs got video picture of it kept my cool was very discreet and polite and understanding took it to the front desk showed the manager of the motel at the front desk was apologized to and offered to have the exterminator come to my room no offer of a refund no new room no nothing Im out here in Georgia on work and unfortunately Im stuck here for another day.
BEWARE: NO ROOMS. This hotel has had a massive communication breakdown with the IHG website. IHG will give you a confirmation number, but the hotel in Acworth will turn you away citing staffing issues. I just had to spend 40m on the phone with three IHG reps and even they could barely believe what had happened. Dont really blame anyone here except the manager failing to make IHG known of the situation. Will update this review as I get more info.
My son and I were in town for a baseball tournament and the team choose the Holiday Inn Express in Acworth, Ga. Check in went smooth but that is where the positive experience stopped. When we walked in the room it had a bad, musty, moldy odor. I thought with the AC it would go away. It did not. You would get used to it then leave the room for a game, come back and it would still stink. I use a CPAP machine when I sleep and the odor was so bad it permeated the filter of the machine and the smell remained for close to a week after returning home. The bathroom floor had water damage and rot. The breakfast was not very good and the coffee was awful. Only positive thing was in was close to Lakepoint. Very disappointed!
I traveled to this location for my daughter’s gymnastics meet. The location was convenient to the Athletics center. I love the beds and pillows at Holiday Inn’s and this one did not disappoint! The room was clean, well stocked and I enjoyed a great nights sleep! Staff was friendly. I am ready for the breakfast area to open back up to the full menu but what was offered was satisfactory.
Well - I guess one way to cool off in Atlanta is a cold shower - unfortunately it was in the low 50s, so I was looking forward to a hot shower. Ran the shower for 15 to 20 minutes two different times and it never got hot. I told staff and their response was, that does not seem right. The room was very well appointed and the bedding was great, but over perfumed. So soft!!! Staff were kind and helpful (up until the cold shower, but what is the guy behind the desk going to do about that really?) Breakfast was fast and easy with a good amount of choice.
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions with excellent service each time. On this stay, Zachary was more than professional. His customer service was beyond what is expected in these times. He is knowledgeable and friendly. His outstanding professionalism should be rewarded. My lower rating on breakfast choices is only because of the Covid restrictions, and even with that said, breakfast was tasty and good.We continue to choose this hotel because of the quality service, the cleanliness and friendliness of the employees.
We had an issue with a smell in the room we were given. I brought it to the attention to the front desk staff. They apologized immediately and moved us to another room and discounted the initial price as an apology. The staff was very accommodating especially a gentleman named Tyler. It was a great overall experience !
The hotel was great. Finding the hotel was a chore, though. The hotel is behind a bunch of businesses and there are no street signs. My GPS said to turn on a specific street, there was no street sign and the street looked like a parking lot entrance. I have two comments about the room. First, the bathroom is in need of some quality repairs. The shower curtain rod was hanging on to the wall with one screw. Second, there was no guide for the TV. You had to go up and the channel line-up until you found something. I know it sounds trivial, but it’s frustrating to me.
Although the personnel were very nice during my visit - my bill was “jacked up” and when trying to “fix” it they still could not get it right. I’ve called at least 6 times, called corporate and STILL 4 days later have not received an email with the corrected bill needed for filing my travel with my company. My bigger concern is this property as well as the Hotel (would not allow me to provide name) across the street are owned by the same company. The hotel across also screwed up my bill last time I was staying in the area. I was told they also own another name brand property less than a mile away. If you are traveling for work and are tax exempt. Don’t rely on these properties to do the right thing. It’s not difficult to do it right from the beginning. However, if they don’t - they can’t seem to figure out how to correct it and definitely are not trained in communications. Property Manager - prove me wrong and call me!!!!
Stopped here headed home to Kentucky from our home in Florida. Perfect location just north of Atlanta. Room price was good, clean hotel, free breakfast, nice staff. Loved the closeness to the town of Acworth, Alatoona Lake and Red Top Mountain. Easy access on and off of I-75.
The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff was friendly. One of the hotel. I added a day and the price per night increased dramatically. I called the hotel to ask if I could be afforded the original nightly price without any luck; however a Hotel Manager reached out to me before I cancelled and adjusted the nightly rate to the original rate, which I thought was a nice touch. My only concern was the double Queen room was a little small, with one of the beds right against the heat/air conditioner.
Place was great. Staff was good and accommodating and helpful and kind and engaged in dialog. Room was clean and large and comfortable. Only complaint was the toilet handle wouldnt flush but no maintenance guy on hand so we had to keep taking the tank top off and flush it manually. Other than that, it was a great experience and we would definitely stay there again...as long as the toilet flushes :)
We stopped here in our way north from Florida, and after a long day’s drive, needed a clean and comfortable place to sleep. We were not disappointed! The bed was comfortable, sheets were soft, pillows were just right! And, after having stayed at a different hotel during the pandemic and having had a simple grab-and-go breakfast, we were delighted with the choices of breakfast (hot breakfast!) items. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we highly recommend this place!
Booked on credit card points, room was declined so booked on IHG points, got billed an unexpected $30 on IHG booking. Also a $30 charge on credit card points booking ( lost points on credit card booking that was actually a valid booking that clerk said was declined)Clerks were of no help and have not heard from manager as requested. Worst experience we have ever had, very disappointed!
The hotel is ok. The room was ok. The parking lot....not ok. Its too small.Semi trailers are parked in the street because there is no parking. We were pulling a small trailer and were instructed to park across the street at the closed Shoneys or on the narrow street with the Semi trucks. That did not make us feel comfortable. The hotel was full, and luckily my husband has great skills to maneuver into a tight area of the back lot .
Made reservation on app. Drove 12 hours and couldnt wait to get in and go to sleep. Walked in and was told there was no rooms and they couldn’t check me in. I said I have a reservation I made on the app. Nope too bad you’ll have to go stay somewhere else. Lobby smelled like weed as the worker and his girlfriend set on the couch in common area under a blanket. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all… EVER…. Bugs in the bathroom off the lobby.
The worst experience ever !!! When I checked in it took an hour because they didn’t know how to switch the card on file. They had roaches!! Housekeeping kept walking in the rooms! When we checked out they called me four hours later and Justina Reyes( Regional Manager) threatened to call the police for non payment!!! After they messed up the cards on file!! They had already charged the card over 600 for the three days but she said she didn’t have the card.. she was trying to charge the card that they should have changed!!! For the extra day. The issue wasn’t the money but the fact that you call and didn’t try to determine what the issue was but that you would call the police. I have been a IHG member for years but after today I will never stay in another Holiday Inn!!! How dare you threaten to call the police ! Shame on you Justina Reyes! You need classes in customer service! So easy to call the police on a black person! Then we paid what you ask because of your mess up and we had to call back to get confirmation. Poor service. Run!!! Do not stay here!!!
Comfortable rooms. The desk staff were great. Professional and very kind from check in to checkout (two ladies and a young man were most impressive with guest relations. I think one was named Brianna and sadly I did not get the names of the others. Real pleasure in service.
Toilet broken twice with no urgency to fix! Elevator down 2 days of our stay.Asked for towels, was told no towels available & that maybe we could get some the next day.Laundry machine takes $2.75 in quarters, but here’s no change machine and the front desk doesn’t have quarters.Employees bring their children to work.It was a mess!!
Room was way way past its time and overdue for gut and remodel. Very pricey for what you received. Bathroom dated and moldy in spots. Bed very uncomfortable and just worn out. Window unit A/C and heat functional but noisy. Carpet needs replacement. Room was dark and drab. Lastly, no breakfast selections other than fruit, yogurt, cereal with nowhere to sit and eat it and lukewarm coffee.
Arriving at this hotel with easy check-in, clean, comfortable, quiet room, good mattress was just what we needed after a stressful 8 hour drive through blinding storms. We were greeted warmly, were put in the quiet room requested and were able to relax and get a good nights sleep. Breakfast selections were ample and quite good, dining area clean. Check-out was expedited and easy. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Like several others we were here during the covid 19outbreak. The staff were very friendly and professional. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was reduced to only cold items, muffins, bagels and such. Fortunately there is a Shoneys and a Hardys right in front of the hotel. As a rewards member, it was really nice to walk into the lobby and see our name on the chalk board welcoming us. We appreciated that after several hours on the road.
Ive spent well over 300 days staying in Holiday Inn Express hotels for work. This was a very nice Holiday Inn Express. The person the checked me in was very nice. Very knowledgeable. Stuck up a conversation was very nice after being on the road all day. I would gladly spend another night here. Room was very clean. The only problem the people before me got turned away. This is not a pet friendly hotel nor is it smoker friendly. Didnt matter to me. Just want others to know.
Less than 10 minutes from the ballpark my son played at, it was very convenient. The staff was extremely courteous and professional. The beds were almost as comfortable as my own. It was a pleasure to stay there. Breakfast was nice albeit different as someone served the food instead of self service due to COVID-19. We plan on staying with Holiday Inn Express again in a few weeks in Jacksonville, FL at another baseball tourney.
Everything was wonderful! The only issue I had was they don’t serve coffee till breakfast is over nothing like a hot cup of coffee with breakfast. Got there an hour before it ended and they were out and wouldn’t refill it. Which was odd but if that’s the worst of my experience I’ll take it. Over all if I had to drive down again I would definitely stay at your hotel.
We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Given a lovely thank you card fir being a member. Received a call a short time later from the front desk to ensure we were happy with our room. A nice touch. The room was quit large, very clean and well appointed. The bed and pillows very comfortable.Breakfast was better than the other hotels we used on our trip. Nice variety. Not your usual powdered eggs and horrible sausage. All staff very pleasant and professional.
Loved the hotel (we got a THANK YOU card for being rewards club members!!), staff was amazing. Breakfast only had apple and orange juice BUT they had the AWESOME cinnamon rolls (NOT the nasty Cinabon ones). The room was incredible... loved the layout of the suite. Sad that, with the temperatures in the mid 90s, the pool was not open. I was really looking forward to a relaxing swim in a nice, cool, swimming pool after being out in the heat all day. Over all, Id stay here again and would recommend it to my friends. Thanks for all you do!
The hallway to our room had a bad odor, the suite had black flakes of something throughout lying on the floors. The room smelled like something was burning and the shower head looked as if it hadnt been cleaned plus it was rusted through. The faucet had grime built up on the top lever. For the price, this Holiday Inn is the worst Ive stayed at.
I could have easily given these hotels 5/5 it was very pleasant, but we did run into a small issue. Our toilet would not flush. A little inconvenient and embarrassing when you pull off the road to relax and flush away the day. In all fairness, the issue was resolved when we were given a plunger. Other than that slight issue everything else was amazing from customer service to guest relations, the rooms were clean and beds were AMAZING. The breakfast was well stocked and the staff was amazing as well. I would return and stay again. Might bring my own plunger though! haha
Staff was friendly and helpful, he made extra effort to check us in fast and efficient. We work long hours and that was important to me so i could get more rest for my next day.The rooms were clean and comfortable the breakfast was hot and the server was fast, just what we needed to start our day.Thank you
Had a very relaxing time. We were just passing through after having a very difficult time with our rental car and rental car company and it was nice to be able to get into our hotel without any issues. The bed, the room, and the bathroom were all very clean. I would definitely stay here again. Oh, it had a large fridge.
We were given a room that had leaking water and brown stained curtains. They offered us a room that was not big enough for our family and a family member was forced to sleep in a chair. We requested additional linens to cover the chair and they were never provided. The morning staff person was rude despite my desire to let them know that the room really needed attention.
The bathroom was in desparate need of repair. The tiles sunk in when stepped on as if the plywood floor was rotten. Repairs that were made included caulk on the tiles instead of grout, and the wall coverings were peeling off. It was obvious water damage was extensive. No visible sign of mold or mildew. The rest of the room was fine.
The main room with the beds was fine. However the bathroom sinks was clogged up and did not drain. The shower was not the best, there were areas in the ceiling that needed to be repaired. Overall the bathroom sink and shower was areas to get improvements. We did tell the person when checking out, and they listened, but it did not seem they would investigate this complaint. We were told it was the oldest holiday inn express and was to be renovated some time... we most likely would not stay in this town at holiday inn unless they did renovate. We did however find a awesome restaurant called Henrys Louisiana Grill just a few miles away that we just loved the food and atmosphere! We definitely would go there again!
The front desk employee was very friendly and helpful as I came in off the road late, looking for a room. She also helped me sign up to become an IHG member. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious and quiet. I really enjoyed the breakfast and the hostess and manager were very nice. After driving for 9 or 10 hours, I really appreciated the stay.
The staff was excellent at this hotel! The guy upon my arrival was very helpful ! I liked the location, easy to get to, excellent for my purpose to explore the area with kids. Quiet hotel, would definitely stay again if at the area. Only complaint is the dirty carpet, needs cleaning asap!
The room was clean bathroom too but the bathroom door hits the shower curtain and will not open fully so you run into the door when you enter the bathroom. Also the room was under a work room or something and it sounded like two people were throwing and slamming furniture around above our room well into the night but settled down after 9pm. Then we got up and no breakfast other that cold cereal and fruits and microwave busker sandwiches. Not what we are she too with this hotel. We stayed in another on Friday night in Tifton and they served hot breakfast so don’t understand why this one did not.
This was my first stay in a hotel since the Covid19, not sure what to expect. Check in was good no problems the room was ready and clean, I requested a rollaway bed and it was brought to the room immediately. The hotel was quiet, breakfast was to go bags which were good to get your day started, the hotel is located in a area where there are plenty restaurants within walking distance. I would stay here again.
This hotel is dated. The bathroom had mildew on the ceiling. The bathroom floor’s grout were missing and cracked. The toilet and bathtub were yellowish. The room furniture appeared dated. I have been to several Holiday Inn Express locations and none has ever been of this quality. The staff were friendly. The breakfast variety was limited as compared to other hotel locations.
Check in was easy and pain free. The room was nice and mostly clean. I am only giving 3 stars because after settling into the room and getting back from dinner we got ready for bed only to notice the shower was dirty (lots of hair both at the drain and back at the top of the tub) and dripping at the faucet. Being late and we were tired we went to bed. The next morning we let the front desk know on checkout what we found later at night but honestly, they didnt seem too concerned with it, as I guess the assumption was we were not concerned enough to move rooms later in the night. And we already stayed the night so what were our options really? Suggest you do a full room check before getting settled to allow them to correct mistakes.
I could tell by the air conditioner unit that this is a slightly older hotel but it looks like it was updated fairly recently. The appearance of the lobby, dining area, hallway and room was very attractive and in very good condition. I slept well because the bed and pillows were comfortable and I didnt hear any noise from my room. The water pressure in the shower was good. I only stayed 2 nights but I would come back to his hotel again if I return to this area.
This was our third summer to stay for a week at this hotel. We had never had a problem before, but were super disappointed to change into our swimsuits & head out to the pool to find that it was closed. I spoke with the desk clerk & he happily told me he didnt know when it would be open but it wouldnt be during the week of our stay. We were so disappointed that we werent notified ahead of time because we would have definitely booked another hotel. Which we eventually did, but after unloading a full car & staying a night before we found out the pool was closed, and then another night because we were told wed be charged for the night if we checked out the next afternoon when we found out the pool was closed. I called IHG & they called the hotel & asked if we could use the pool at one of the nearby hotels. The desk clerk said no, & said hed give us a discount for the inconvenience which wound up being $2o. Definitely not worth the hassle of having to search for another room & unload my family & car twice. We are very disappointed that we were not notified that the pool was closed ahead of time, or at minimum upon check in. We are very loyal IHG members, but this makes me question our loyalty. We expect the hotels to be honest & upfront. Some people dont care about the pool, but it was very important to us for this stay so it was a game changer. I think this pool has never opened for the summer & is waiting on some sort of approval from the city. Thats understandably not the hotels fault, but they should let their guests know they arent going to get what is advertised and expected before they check in.
This was the first time we stayed at this hotel and were very impressed with it. From the moment we were at the front counter we were treated as valued customers with respect. The check in was quick and efficient. My wife later pointed out to me that my name was on a board welcoming me and recognizing me as an elite member. Bonus points had been sent to my account before we were even in our room. The room was clean comfortable and quiet. The room and the hallway had obviously been part of the recent renovation and updating. Could not ask for more. This hotel was a stopover while travelling through and we will stay here again based upon our first experience. Can’t comment on the breakfast as we had departed prior to it being served. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
The hotel and rooms were fine. The guy at front desk was very friendly at check in and girl was friendly at check out. It was nice to see our name on a welcome board in lobby. Please get a closed cabinet for pool towels so birds dont build nests and to keep leaves from getting all over the towels. Please clean the pool area better and maybe make the pool slighty heated. It gets no sun. Lol. Also, the shower curtain smelled of mildew. Other than these issues, the place was good.
Guy at front desk was very friendly as was the girl when we checked out very early. Had our name on a chalkboard welcoming us to the hotel. That was nice. Used our reward points, so the room was free. Four complaints though. There was some kind of bird nest or just leaves in the pool towel holder. Maybe invest in a plastic cabinet with doors. The pool area could have been cleaned a little better. The shower curtain smelled of mildew. Also hairs from previous folks in tub. Just a little bit of fixing these issues and the hotel would be perfect.
We have stayed here in the past and have been very pleased. Unfortunately, things seem to have deteriorate in some regards. I understand with the current covid-19 situation things are different but....not one employee we communicated with was wearing a mask. Our room smelled very musty and seemed dusty. We did not bring our concerns to management as we had to leave by 5:00 the next morning. Doesnt change our very positive view of HIE but will choose a different location in the future.
The room was extremely nice. It smells brand new! The room is very clean. Everything in the room is in perfect working order. The front desk staff was welcoming and professional. My only complaint is that the beds are too soft, but my kids loved them. Regardless, I would definitely stay here again.
This is a good seasoned hotel. Not new, not worn out. The quality of the room was on spot for IHG. I am weary of the Election Infection Response. I feel that many businesses use this as an excuse to limit their services. Banks and hotels appear to be the worst offenders. The first hotel that starts providing hot breakfast gets my business.
Our room was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was wonderful. I was expecting maybe pastries and juice but it was a full buffet with lots of choices and everything was delicious. All of the staff I encountered from front desk to the ladies at the breakfast buffet were wonderful, very helpful and attentive
Enjoyed our stay in Acworth, GA at this IHG facility. The staff were all very courteous and helpful. The facility and rooms were comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast was on par with most hotels but decent. Our only negative was having a poolside room which was noisy until 10pm when the pool shut down. Would have no hesitations to stay here again.
We were driving from FL., to Ohio, so we were glad to get through Atlanta to this hotel. Due to covid-19 they had many things closed. No extras that usually come with the Brand, Luckily we only really needed a good clean room, comfortable bed, nice hot shower/bathtub, and air conditioning. Had a restful night and woke up ready to travel some more.
Decided to stay at this location rather than in Cartersville based on location and price. Well, location is great but if coming back to the area I would choose the Cartersville location. Acworth H.I. has issues. Needs a remodel immediately. Sofa bed mattress had stains on the bottom, only realized it because I had to request sheets and pillows for it, My room had missing grout on the floors in the bathroom, the walls were different colors. Looks like they started to paint, ran out of the color and decided that was good enough. All fixtures looked old and worn out. Small parking lot. Woman working breakfast area was unfriendly. Now the good, friendly front desk employees, felt safe and outside of hotel looked clean and kept up. Across street from Cabelas sporting goods and directly behind Racetrac. Other side of I 75 has plenty of fast food and shopping. Hotel is in a Great location
Shower / bath was out of order for repairs. Had a hole 12 inches long in tub with blue painters tape around it. Management said they overbooked so they gave us the room that was under repair. $200 + for a HIE room and had to go to meetings without a bath / shower. Jhavi Bowen gave $25 off, I shared that this was not acceptable, so he cut off all communication. Clearly HIE has no regard for its customers.
Everyone at the hotel did a great job at helping me out and making me feel at home. I liked how close this location was to shopping and eating. The team here was an example of excellent hospitality. The manager helped me when I had a problem with the door and housekeeping kept the room clean. Breakfast was good with a good amount of options. The hotel was sold out and that is always a good sign. I would suggest everyone stay here when in town. Thank you for the home away from home feel.
1 inch by 12 inch hole in bathtub. Was told that they overbooked and gave us a room that was not to be occupied. Had to go to our meeting with no bath / shower! When we arrived at midnight the room door was blocked open, went back down to front desk where they acted like “no big deal, just go in”. Really … two women are to go in a room at midnight that the door is propped open? I don’t think so.
The hotel itself is clean, staff is friendly however do not stay in a room on first floor by the housekeeping room/gym, the housekeeping staff was in and out of that room all night and the door slammed after each entrance and exit, plus they were talking and laughing so we heard the door and noise all night, a sleepless night. Plus we could hear the gym equipment being used. The breakfast was good, dining room was clean. I think if we were in a different room location it would have been a better experience.
I reserved four rooms all double beds, i have several six footers guys playing basketball from out of town, when I checked in they said they no longer had double beds. They gave my room to someone else even though I confirmed. I was stuck in a bind since we drove eight hours away and all my guys were tired. Manager said he will lower the rate to ninety dollars since all they had was a king with a pull out sofa. Next day I found out it wasnt the case, he charged us ninety nine instead. Overall bad experience, I travel again at the end of the month to this area, but I will take my business elsewhere. Im willing to travel thirty minutes away from the gym in order to have a pleasant place to sleep in. Total nightmare for me and my teams. Keep in mind I have three other teams that reserved at this place and they were all treated the same. Looks like Ill stay elsewhere. the best bet moving forward.
Quality of room was excellence and the staff were professional. Right after check-in, we had no water pressure. We notified staff and they explained the situation. A water main had busted near property which was something the hotel had no control over. The problem was resolved quickly and staff attended to the issue professionally. Breakfast was good as usual but at least two sports teams were there at hotel which made things crowded. They also ran out of a few food items. Attendance to the food items was a little slower than normal.
We requested a first floor room and were accommodated. The staff was courteous and helpful. Parking was available adjacent to the entrance and a well lighted exterior made us feel secure. The common areas were neat and cleaned regularly. The TV service was excellent (Direct TV) and the room temperature was just right for us. Beds were clean and comfortable. Excellent maid service. Had no major problems with the internet connection. I used the exercise room and the machines worked. Hooray !!Breakfast offered ample choices and were refreshed regularly. This property was one of the best we have used and was convenient to shopping and commuting in the Atlanta area.
I would stay at this hotel again but only if I could be assured of getting a room on the top (3rd) floor. Very little insulation between ceiling/floors; heard people above walking around in the evening and way too early in the morning. We were in room 211 near the elevator. Room size was ample, bed comfortable and great pillows. Breakfast is definitely a cut above other hotels; many hot and fresh items.
The reception at the front desk was excellent. The bed was ok but the pillows were wonderful. My room was Very Clean & comfortable. I was on a business trip & had a lot of paper work to attend to. Was able to concentrate without noisy interruptions. The Breakfast was good & fresh & the Breakfast Staff was very attentive to our needs. The Staff at the front desk called me by name when greeting, on my coming & going. This was a great home away from home. Thank You for making my stay so accommodating. God Bless You!
Service has been an issue at this location over the past two months as the majority of the daytime staff has been as friendly as a losing soccer teams fanbase. The only consistently nice associate is the young lady on the overnight shift. The rooms are dated, but have usually been clean. On my most recent visit, there were seven dead insects on the bed closest to the air conditioner. I switched rooms, and the second one was fine. However, I find it very unlikely to use this location again given the much better choices a few exits down in Kennesaw.
Hotel was average at best. Breakfast bar closed too early on weekend mornings had to walk across street to waffle house. Pool is located at back of hotel and gets no sun. (Huge design flaw). Holiday Inn sign is being washed out and is suspended in the air. Needs to be repaired before someone gets hurt. No transportation service. Staff is monotone. Needs more personality. Cleanliness was pretty good and it is a quiet hotel.
I have stayed at the Acworth location on several occasions. Very convenient for me (off I-75) as I travel back and forth between Florida and Indiana. Check-in was nice and fast and my room was quite nice (was a 2-room suite). My breakfast experiences at the Holiday Inn Express brand has sometimes been hit and miss, depending on the location and how packed the hotel is. This one was a definite miss. Woke up early and headed down to the breakfast area. Completely crowded and nowhere to sit. (Obviously the hotel cant control how many people decide to show up to the breakfast area). Only one coffee urn had barely any coffee left..was able to squeak out one cup after about 15 pumps. Cinnamon rolls were out, cheese omelettes were out, only three pieces of turkey sausage were left (which were a bit dry). I thought about coming back later, but I had to hit the road and didnt have time to sit around and wait. So, I took my one cup of coffee, one biscuit, and a dry piece of turkey sausage back to my room. When I left the hotel a short time later, naturally everyone had cleared out of the breakfast area and there was plenty of food. Just my luck. But I shouldnt have to work my departure time around when I think breakfast items might be available. They should always be available between the allotted breakfast hours.
The hotel was very old. Bed should have been replaced a long time ago. Both my wife and I woke up with lower back pain. Carpet was old and could not get the temperature high enough to warm up the room. We stayed there about four or six years ago and gave it an outstanding rating.
I reserved 4 rooms all double beds, i have several six footers guys playing basketball from out of town, when I checked in they said they no longer had double beds. Im willing to travel 30 minutes away from the gym in order to have a pleasant place to sleep in. Total nightmare for me and my teams. Keep in mind I have 3 other teams that reserved at this place and they were all treated the same. Looks like elsewhere is the best bet moving forward.
Traveling from the Midwest to Florida and back with 2 young grandchildren, we decided not to stay at the hotel we reserved on the way to Florida. It was NOT a Holiday Inn Express and it was horrible (different chain completely) .Called the Holiday Inn Express about 2 hours before reaching the area and was told they would hold a room for us. Check in was easy, The room was spacious and clean. The staff as great and the breakfast actually tasted like real food unlike some weve had at other hotels. We plan to stay at Holiday Inn Express locations in the future.
Great spacious room. Clean and fresh bathrooms with good lighting. Plenty of closet and storage space for personals if staying longer than few days. Hot breakfast was provided but would like more food options and foot variety. Spacing in fitness center is a little limited and cramped if more than 3 people in center. Ultimately, location, cleanliness, affordable, and friendly staff were great at this Hotel.
I normally dont book Holiday Inn rooms by choice, but this was a business related stay. That being said, I didnt really have any issues with this hotel. Front desk experience was very nice; my company booked the room but the front desk associate switched the rate to government when she saw my military ID. I personally love hotels located right behind or next to gas stations, as it makes for convenient access to drinks, snacks, breakfast, and, of course, fuel; this one is located as such. Was impressed by the fact that the room had both a fridge and microwave, which are pretty hard to find. The room always smelled really nice when I came back to it each evening; if that was a factor of housekeeping, that was very impressive and quite lovely. The conditioner/furnace was panel controlled, which is not a big deal, it just doesnt allow you to pick a temperature by number, but instead just the dial. Parking was a little sparse, but I never saw the lot run out of it. All in all, good hotel that did in fact exceed what I expected from Holiday Inn as a brand, but if this is their new standard now, I may have to reconsider where my future stays come from.
I come to this hotel on a regular bases for business, + - 12 weeks per year. This week the stay was not good. My towels and shampoo and body wash was not replaced 2 days in a row.I also wake up early and exercise in the fitness room and eat breakfast by 6.00 am. That was never a problem but this time a new manager came into the breakfast room, stated that breakfast starts at 6.30 am and shut down the light while I was eating breakfast. I thought that this was rude. I never had any issues before with the earlier breakfast. Other hotel guest do this as well as some of us have to start work early. This hotel needs to appreciate their long term spire elite guests otherwise I will take my business elsewhere. I never had issues with the staff before so I am surprised by the actions on that day
Thanks for helping to make our sons wedding a great success. It was so nice to have large, spacious rooms for all the out of town guests. It was so easy having family and friends in one place. The service was great and we all enjoyed a breakfast together the morning after the big event. Thanks for taking the stress out and letting us just relax and enjoy this special time. The grandchildren enjoyed the pool, too.
The bed was clean. That’s all I have to say good about my stay in Acworth Holiday Inn Express. Hotel is under renovations. The elevator was not in operation. The internet was so bad I couldn’t FaceTime my family. The bathroom had mildew showing on the walls. The bathroom had also had some patch work done and the paint didn’t match, bright white patch on yellow/brown wall paint. All of this would have been more acceptable if I hadn’t paid so much for the room on Saturday night. All in all way over paid for the hotel.
I normally give 5 stars to all Holiday Hotels. I couldnt to this one. The breakfast was disappointing. No half and half for coffee, margarine instead of butter, coffee was weak. I would expect this at a lower cost hotel but not Holiday Inn. When a company charges enough for a room and cuts corners on the small things. What else are they cutting costs on?? Makes you wonder, are they cutting costs on cleaning materials. Just disappointing. I will recommend, but I personally wont stay there again. Ill travel another 10-15 down the road. Being a Spire member, I had to ask for a discount.
We were able to reserve one of the last king suites for our trip over the holiday/spring break weekend. Unfortunately, the room wasnt quite what I expected. There was no door between the bedroom and the living space, the pull-out sofa was not in great shape (which most arent... but my son usually doesnt complain about it being uncomfortable, and he did the next morning). There was no bedding in the room for the pull-out couch - when I called the front desk they told me to come down to get it... in most cases, Ive had staff offer to bring it up to me directly. Im telling myself its because they were too busy, but Im not sure if thats the case or not. The grout in the bathroom was chipping and looked pretty rough. Our room was above the sliding doors to the entrance of the hotel, so all night long we got to hear the doors open and shut as other guests arrived. Id give this hotel another shot, but would request a different room.
I was very impressed with how friendly the front desk staff were. I was given a complimentary pack for being a club member. My room was very clean and the A/C worked well. The room even had a very clean smell. I was impressed. In the morning the breakfast was much more than I expected. The stay overnight was great!
Very friendly staff. It can be a little noisy from other guests in rooms above but if you ask for a room on the third/top floor it will be quiet, generally the noise is very little and quite tolerable. Breakfast begins fairly promptly at 6:30 so if you are leaving before that your only choice will be coffee.Don’t hesitate to stay here.
The rooms, breakfast buffet area, and lobby were well kept and clean. The furnishings were all modern and overall a great value for the money. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Check in took less than 5 minutes. The only thing I will note was that a majority of the food offered was extremely processed (pancakes, eggs, and sausage) and the fruit was not quite ripe or overly bruised. Im sure thats not a direct reflection on the specific hotel but perhaps IHG. Otherwise a great place to stay. If I were in the area I would stay again and eat breakfast offsite.
Did not check in until 8 PM. Our room was perfect. WIFI very good. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast room was large, had plenty of seating and hot foods were plentiful. Checked out about 9 AM and the night clerk was still working. I made a point to tell the Manager how great she was. He said he was aware of that and appreciated my comment.I highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express.
I stay at this location several times a year while traveling between Florida and Indiana. Check-in was a breeze and the hotel was fairly quiet (I dont think it was a sold out evening). Wi-Fi at times was a little slow, but otherwise my stay was uneventful. It looks like they re-vamped the breakfast area, with the food service area appearing to have a more streamlined look. Apparently they teamed up with Cinnabon, so that is who provides the cinnamon rolls now. No doubt I will continue to stay here.
We usually stay here 3 to 4 times a year and are happy but this time we were not happy. First at 10:00pm we had to call down to the front desk because there were kids and adults running up and down the hall , talking very loud and slamming doors. The desk clerk said that she just checked in a group. Nothing else said! Then we go down to get breakfast and there was no pancake batter, no sausage gravy and the eggs were very old. We asked a d was told that they have put all the batter out for that day. So we had to go a d buy breakfast.
This is our second time at this hotel. The beds are so comfortable we want one for home. The staff was friendly and helpful on recommending good local restaurants. The hall carpeting was getting a little tired looking but once inside the room, everything was in great order. We will be back that way next year and definitely stay there again.
The hotel staff was very accommodating. Even though the hotel was sold out and obviously busy it was very quiet and the breakfast bar was fully stocked all morning. I would def stay here again. The outdoor Pool wasnt open yet And we got in late so we didnt use the gym. Overall this was a great place to stay on our way home from Florida
The manager was outstanding and very helpful. She looked up the availability of the next Holiday Inn in the resort area we were traveling toward and gave us the number to call later. The breakfast was very well served. The food was ample and hot. The night clerk was equally as helpful when we needed assistance with the TV in our room. Customer service at this hotel was excellent.
I enjoyed this hotel. The one thing I would have wished to be different is that some of the rooms did not have great thermostats (ie they use the one on the air conditioner that only has turn dials and limited comfort levels). The room my other family members stayed in had the adjustable thermostats on the wall and they worked great. Sad that my room didnt have these and I hope the hotel is working to updgrade. It makes getting your room to a comfortable temperature easier. Just a personal issue though, this was not a problem.Overall great place to stay!
We were traveling North with a boat in tow and found our receptionist very helpful as far as parking and finding us options for our evening meal. She assured us everything had been sanitized and cleaned to specific guidelines and made us feel comfortable and able to enjoy an evening of much needed rest.
Overall I was happy with the hotel appearance and staf. The problem I had was my room was not cleaned for my last night there. Bed was not made and towels were not replaced. I brung it to the attention of the staff and they were remorseful and apologetic for what happened. Other than that my stay was good
Honestly, I stay at a lot of Holiday Inn properties. Im a Spire member, and a top-tier member at another hotel brand. I and my family and many other people I have talked to all agree that the cinnamon rolls that have been available at Holiday Inn Express for many many years were some of the best cinnamon rolls we have ever had. One of the worst mistakes you could have made as a hotel brand was to swap them out for the far, far inferior Cinnabon rolls that IHG is mandating be installed at their HIE properties. The previous cinnamon rolls were always warm, soft, and flavorful. The new Cinnabon cinnamon muffins or whatever youd like to call them are often hard, yet doughy, mostly flavorless, and harder to eat.Im not going to say Im not staying at set another HIE property, but Im deeply disappointed. Its almost as though corporate made their own decision to change, without getting any input from the public. Even your staff has commented to me that many customers have expressed that they wish the change had not been made.
My family stops here every time they travel from Florida to TN. It is the perfect place to relax after driving all day and then going through Atlanta traffic. They are remodeling now, but the service is awesome. The Asst. Front Desk Manager remembered myself and my family. Makes you feel good. I did not eat breakfast there due to checking out at 2 am because I was so tired, I fell asleep so quick and slept hard waking up feeling refreshed even though it was 2 am. I checked out with the night shift staff and he was really cool. I wish I could remember their names.Every staff member I ran into were very friendly.I will stay here again and I know my family will too. Cant wait to see it when it is done remodeling.
My sister and I shared a room for 2 nites in October while visiting my local daughter. We were greeted very warmly and checked in quickly, our room was spacious and very comfy for two. The staff was friendly and treated us like family, asking after our comfort and chatting amicably on the way in and out. Breakfast was fresh and more hearty than expected, I left pleasantly full for a day of shopping in Atlanta. I will recommend all the travelers from my family that plan on stopping in Acworth this winter on the way to Florida. I am certain they will be safe and comfortable. The manager Allen runs a beautiful facility and is very proud of the hotel and his employees.
When we checked in, we were given a room that had not been made up (we checked in at 4:30 pm). We had to return to the front desk for another room. The second day we returned to our room about 10:30 pm and the bed had not been made. We did have clean towels, so not sure why the bed was overlooked. The food in the breakfast area was just so-so. Eggs were tasteless and the coffee in the urns was lukewarm. The hotel itself is clean and appears to be either new or recently updated. Access to the main road was easy and parking was not a problem.
This was the second time staying at this hotel. This room was much nicer than the previous room, but both are in need of updating (which is in progress, I think). The main complaint I have with this hotel is the blocking of the access road by large trucks and buses, which I feel is a huge safety hazard. The large vehicles make a 2 lane road just barely wide enough for 1 car at a time, with very limited sight lines. The staff is very nice and friendly, the rooms very clean, and even with the access problem, I would stay here again.
Great experience! Convenient location. Very nice reception and desk clerk very helpful. Nice room. Our preference was for a room close to the elevator because my wife has had a stroke and it is difficult for her to walk. We got that room. Very happy with this location and will stay again when traveling east to Florida.
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel several times while traveling from Florida to Tennessee. We have always found the rooms to be very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast has a great variety. One thing that struck us on our last stay was the friendliness of the staff both to guests and each other. While at breakfast we overheard the night staff and oncoming day staff joking and laughing with each other. To me that shows that the environment must be fun and relaxed. The staff interaction with the guest certainly reflects that. We look forward to our next stay.
The Holiday Inn Express chain has yet to disappoint me. I always enjoy my stays while on business trips and have now extended over into my personal stays. The properties are consistent in cleanliness, comfort, and hospitality. I tend to even book stays with IHG hotels even when Im attending events that recommend other hotels. I am well pleased.
Easy fast check in, available food close by, and from in hotel. Free wi fi easy connection. Clean room, very comfortable bed, great pillows, nice room temperature. Not large enough discount for senior, used to be a bigger percent off. Staff very helpful, and pleasant. Great parking, since parking was well lit. Quiet, felt safe, being on my own, was important, to feel safe.
I am a Gold rewards club member with Holiday Inn. On a recent stay, the service was good, but it doesnt make up for a disgusting room. #122. The bathroom was almost unusable. The ceiling had multiple large unfinished repairs, the floor was filthy, and the toilet would hardly flush. Yet, I was charged full price not once, but twice. I stayed one night, but was charged for two and it was a week before the charge was removed. Very disappointed and will not stay at again.
Paid a premium price for this supposedly non-smoking room at this non-smoking hotel. Planned to stay 4 nights but couldnt wait to check out and change hotels due to the smokey smell in room. Hotel was full so we were unable to change rooms. The smell was worse when in bathroom with door closed or in the shower. The ottoman had a tear/hole. It looked like a burn hole in carpet. Behind chair there was build-up of gunk. This is an older hotel that has been updated, However, the walls are rather beat up and dirt has accumulated in corners.I could live with these short-comings, but I could not live with the smoke smell. The only thing I was offered was Im sorry that happened. while being presented with a very high priced room bill. I could have paid much less for this level of service and quality.
While traveling for family matters the IHG at Acworth was a great location. Staff are courteous and professional. Our room was clean and comfortable. I wish the breakfast would have stayed open later, like 10:00 AM for a Sunday morning. They close at 9:30 and most other places Ive stayed are open to 10. But there is a great Shoneys at the far end of the parking lot. Overall, very good stay.
Reserved and paid for this room three weeks ago for two queen beds for two guys. When I checked in, I was told that only a king was available. When I paid for this room, I even called back to make sure I had two queen beds and I was assured that this was correct. Well, I was offered only some linens to put on a couch that folded out. It was so uncomfortable that I could hardly sleep. The toilet never shut off during my stay as well. Not to mention some sort of crawling bug in the bathroom. The breakfast was terrible, maybe the worst of any hotel chain I ever stayed in. I am a priority club member, and was never welcomed in as well.
I loved the size of the room and the nice bathroom. I want to go buy a pillow like the one at the hotel. It was so comfortable and the bed was perfect so I was able to get a good nights sleep. I could not hear anyone outside of my room which was great. The staff were very nice and made you feel welcome.
Guest room very clean as week as bathroom. Anytime the weather is bad, the direct TV goes out. Beds are good and pillows are great. Breakfast has a decent selection, would recommend offering fresh eggs, hot biscuits, and waffles. Located next to good places to eat. Highly recommended!!!
I recently stayed at this location and was pleased with the room size and cleanliness of it. However, I was extremely disappointed in the way that my broken TV situation was handled. I arrived late Saturday night and was looking forward to relaxing and watching some of the news before sleeping. I found out once entering my room that the TV did not work and immediately called the front desk to see if it could be fixed. The employee came to my room and spent OVER 30 minutes just changing the inputs on the TV although I explained that I had already tried and that was not the problem. After 30 minutes, the employee gave up and said it would not work. I was amazed that he did not offer up any accommodations or at least a percentage off of the room. I then was woken up early the next morning to a knocking at the door. It was housekeeping and I did not have a Do Not Disturb sign anywhere in my room to place on the door. When I opened the door, the custodian just stared at me and did not apologize or say anything. I called the front desk and they put a sign on my door. This location is convenient for me and because I visit this area often, I would like to consider making this my regular hotel when I visit. However, I would expect better customer service next time and would need to feel like my needs were accommodated. Thanks.
We stopped here for a night and the staff was changing shifts. When we got out of our car, 2 staff members were leaving to go home and they welcomed us and talked for a few minutes in the parking lot. Went inside to get a room and the staff member was polite and friendly. I talked to him on and off when I went outside to wait for some friends who lived nearby and he answered a few questions I had about where some places were to eat and how to het there. When I checked out the next morning, I was greeted by one of the staff member I encountered in the parking lot. Very friendly also just like in the parking lot. I didn/t have any problems except for the tub having a drip and the way the shower head was pointed. I say the way it was pointed due to when I turned on the shower, the water was sprayed onto the floor of the bathroom. The food looked good, but I didnt like most so I ate at D&D. I do not like sausage and biscuits and gravy that much and usually do not eat cereal. But, the food did look good and the dining area was very clean. Even though I stayed one night here, I will be back if I have to stay in the area again.
I was surprised with the staff and hotel-one of the cleanest Hotels I have stayed at, it was clean even though it is a highway Hotel. The maids do a good job, very nice.Front desk was great the young lady Shelly took great care of us, she cancelled our reservation in Lawrenceville and took care of us in Acworth. She was so pleasant-and very busy, it seems that this hotel is very popular in the area.I will stop at this Hotel again, other Holiday Inns are not this nice and the staff is not as caring-there is a sense of pride in the Hotel and people.
Great overall experience comfortable bed and pillows. The room smelled clean. The staff was very friendly both incoming and outgoing. The breakfast at the HI Express is always very good and this site, it met the expectations. The entire hotel was very clean. We will definitely stay again.
We were disappointed in this experience at this Holiday inn Express. The shower drain was plugged, the chairs were dirty and stained, and the room rate was too high for this poor quality. This experience will have a bearing on our next choice of overnight accommodations.
I was not happy with how my room was cleaned each day. It was fine when we first checked in but was not cleaned well on a daily basis. Also the breakfast was running out by the end of the time available. The server did not want to put more out because we were coming to the end. The times posted were different from what I was told at check in. I was still there with 5 minutes to go but she announced breakfast was over and she was cleaning up. Overall they did not have as many choices for breakfast as I have had at other Holiday Inn Express.
This is conveniently located outside of Atlanta and was the perfect place for us to stop for the night. Though I spent more than I wanted to (the LaQuinta next door was booked), I’m glad we stayed there. The beds and pillows were next level amazing. As someone who frequently wakes up at hotels with a sore back and stiff neck, I had no problems! The shower was refreshing and the breakfast had a wide variety of food. I would definitely recommend this place.
We checked in around 9:30 pm. We had our 11 month old grandaughter with us and had been traveling all day. The staff couldnt have been nicer and more accomodating. Myra made us feel very welcome. My wife and I had brought in a sandwich and Myra opened the dining area for us to relax and watch TV. Our room was top notch and the staff was as good as you will ever find. Very clean. One of the nicest Holiday In Expresses you will find. I highly recommend.
Dining room was being renovated when we visited and breakfast was setup in two rooms. Service was good and food choices standard. Coffee was excellent. We will stay here again for the convenience to services and excellent facilities. I used the exercise room multiple times and it met my needs very well.
What we did not like about our stay was that the reason I booked this hotel was for the pool, only to get there ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND to find out it wasnt open. We were travelling with kids and this was an important amenity to us. Not only that, there was no place to sit outside OTHER than around the pool which was closed. The stay was more expensive than if we had rented a whole house thru another source but since this hotel had a pool I specifically booked it with our IHG number for the pool. Had I known this I could have rented a whole house for less than what we paid for 2 nights in a hotel I reserved with pool that did not have a functioning pool. Being IHG members, both my husband and I, we expected much more and were very disappointed considering the price
As a graduate student, I typically make the long drive from Indiana to Florida (and then back again) several times per year. Rather than stop off at my usual Holiday Inn Express in Dalton, I decided to drive a little further to this location. The hotel itself is nice and is located adjacent to the interstate, which is convenient. There are also restaurants nearby (as well as Publix) for additional dining options. For the price, it was a solid hotel stay. My room was clean and spacious. Not too much noise in the hotel itself, which resulted in a good nights sleep. I also used the fitness center and did some cardio. An overall good experience. I would stay here again.
Only complaint was about included breakfast. Advertised to be open at 6:30. I didn’t make it down until 7:10. There were no hot items, such as eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, etc. The pans all said out of order. I later overheard an employee tell another customer It just wasn’t ready yet. On a Sunday morning with lots of customers. The included breakfast is a huge reason I book HIE. Very disappointing. Everything else on this visit was excellent...the check-in, room, bed, etc.
This hotel is very friendly, clean, comfy, fresh coffee and tea in lobby 24/7! It is close to interstate 75 but far enough away not to be in the hussle. Even walking distance to restaurants and a convenient store. Checked in early from a flight and accommodated us. Got settled in, left for a visit and dinner, and returned to my name on the chalk board in the lobby that read Welcome.... (and my name). They are on it! This Holiday Inn Express were with welcoming details!
I was impressed the staff seemed to actually care about us and all of their guests. It was a busy Hotel.Great food/restaurant recommendations Henrys was perfect but busy. The hotel staff, front desk lady Francesca was so nice to us, the ladies cleaning were very good-room smelled and was clean each day. Breakfast was typical for a Holiday Inn Express.I was insulted by the kids the teams-the boys were actually rude and tried to break and destroy the hotel property.
The room was a great size. But, the shower wouldnt work, and the AC/heat was LOUD!!! The food at breakfast not only did not fit our food allergies, but it did not taste good. The staff, however, was wonderful! I was not sure it was worth what I paid for that night, but the over-all hotel is nice.
I booked this hotel for my wife and daughter using my points for a dance competition in the area. Being a spire elite member, I often use my points for my kids sports competitions. Generally my wife says with my spire elite status, the hotel staff treats them very well. However on this stay for some reason my wife was given the third degree about why I was not there and told she can not check in until they speak with me. This caused them to have to wait at the front desk for 15 minutes until the hotel reached me by phone for approval. Again we have used the points numerous times in the past without an issue like this. My wife says she felt like she was doing something wrong by using the points I earned through the program. I have been a
The management at this location needs to clean up and renovate the bathrooms. There should be adequate ventilation, no mould or mildew, a clean shiny good quality bathtub and fixtures, clean tile floors, and clean walls. The carpets in the hallways and rooms should be clean and replaced if starting to wear. I could have booked at any other place for half the price. I am willing to pay a bit more for quality and stay loyal to Holiday Inn, but after staying at this location, I am beginning to question whether I should re evaluate.
This hotel is great when traveling. It is clean, comfortable and conveniently located. Request a room on the top floor away from the elevator for the quietest stay. Unfortunately, we were placed front of the elevator and laundry area during our last stay and it was a bit annoying. The staff is very friendly and they act like they are actually happy to have guests. The rooms are extremely clean and always comfortable.
Stayed for a week.Overall this hotel was okay. Was in handicap room on 1st floor. There were items broken in room( which never got fixed), housecleaning picked up soiled linens but forgot to replace them and did not make beds. Keys did not work 1st night, lady at front desk said it was our fault. The breakfast was excellent. Breakfast staff were excellent and friendly. Curetta, front desk staff, was excellent, she tried to assist us The best she could. Sharnell, manager on duty, tried to give us discount but since we booked through a third party the only thing she was able to do was give us a 1000 point voucher from the rewards program which unless you have over 10,000 points doesnt get you anything. At least she tried. Not sure if I would stay again.
I have a mixed review about this location. The hotel itself, was nice. It was clean, and quiet despite being close to the highway. Here is my issue with this hotel: The day before, they put a full amount authorization on my credit card. I thought that was unusual, as I had never seen that. But when I checked in, they said I would have to run my card AGAIN. I asked why, as the authorization was done the day before (that I wasnt thrilled about either). The front desk clerk was having some difficulty answering my questions, and the GM overheard me from the back. She came out and explained it was the new cancellation policy from IHG, and they have no control over it. I explained if that was the case, why is this the first time I have seen it? I reluctantly paid it, (and mind you - 5 days later the hold is still on my CC). Being explained the new policy by the GM, I decided to call IHG customer care and tell them I wasnt a fan of it. They said that the new cancellation policy was rolled out by IHG, but the pre-authorizations/hold on the CC was NOT. That is strictly a location call. So, long story short - this location is disguising the cc authorization with a legitimate corporate policy. Its too bad. Its a nice location and hotel, but I wont return.
I enjoyed my stay at HIE Acworth-Kennesaw. The hotel staff was friendly. The breakfast was served at an appropriate temperature. The young lady serving breakfast was patient with the guests. She extended the closing time approximately 10 minutes so that guests could select food. The central location of the hotel was accessible to restaurants and shopping mall.
Great clean and comfortable hotel. The front desk staff was clueless as to restaurant choices that were not adjacent to the property (Waffle House, Shoneys, Hardees). If you are looking for a hotel to sleep in that is convenient to the interstate, this hotel is perfect. If you want close by dining options, this hotel is challenged.
Check your credit card statements when you check in! I was paying for 2 nights on 2 different cards. When I checked in, I was assured that they would only one one night per card. The next morning, they had charged my card 3 times. Once for the amount of one night and again for the full amount for 2 nights. They could not fix it while I was there and then I had to have my bank call on a 3 way call to drop the pending charge. After that, another pending charge showed up even though the original charge had cleared. I was told that pending charge would take up to a week to clear even though the hard charge had already cleared. My bank was able to fix everything quickly but, the Holiday Inn was no help at all. I understand how holds work on debit cards but, this was above and beyond anything I have had to deal with with any hotel before. I have talked to the staff in person, on the phone and via email with no resolution from the hotel. I have asked for the owner or regional managers contact info and I have not received it. You tell me that I am a rewards member but have never been told how to retrieve points or how to use them. One of the questions in the survey was I welcomed as a rewards member. I would love to use the rewards points when traveling but dont know how. The staff and the rooms were acceptable. We there as a group and rented several rooms. The breakfast was ok but didnt seemed to be monitored by an individual if items were running low or out. When I confirmed the rooms should have been informed that place was being renovated
We stayed here for one night while in town for a sports event at the Lake Point Center in Emerson. It was totally fine. The room was not as clean as I have come to expect from a Holiday Inn, but definitely clean enough for us to be comfortable. It was a bed for a night, a shower with clean towels, and a better than average breakfast. Probably not where I’d want to stay for an extended stay, but good enough for one night.
Overall we had a great stay, even thought our room didnt have any toiletries (soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner), we made the best. I actually thought those items werent provided anymore, so we went and purchased them. I asked at the front desk upon check-out about the toiletries and I was advised that they are still provided and he immediately apologized for the inconvenience. We enjoy Holiday Inn and its properties and we will return again!
We visited Acworth, GA to see our maternal uncle and stayed at this hotel. It has professional and friendly front desk staff and courteous service staff. The rooms were extremely clean and well apportioned. While the breakfast could be of better quality and variety, overall, this hotel is an excellent place to stay while visiting Acworth.
If you have to spend Christmas away from home, this is a great place to stay. I am handicapped and everyone went out of their way to help me get settled in my room. Breakfast was varied and good. On Christmas Eve we had cranberry cookies, such a nice touch. The shower was just right for my handicap and was easy to use.
I went through Atlanta headed north on my way home. I chose this property because it was a place to stop after making it through Atlanta. Atlanta has never been a place I enjoy driving through! My stop here started out great because of my check in. The gentleman who checked me in was wonderful. What a kind and decent man! I appreciate his help and sense of humor. The room was great. I slept sound the whole night through!I do wish the the breakfast menu would change chain wide. It gets old!
I have stayed in an HIExpress nearly 70 nights in over a dozen states this past year and would highly recommend them all except this location. I am a Platinum Elite member and was not welcomed as one. I also did not receive my bonus check in points. I called the hotel on several occasions over the past 3 weeks and was told they would take care of it. They have failed to do so. The check in staff was rude when I asked if a room upgrade was available. The entire hotel had a strong cleaning chemical odor. Thankful the hotel was clean, but not at the expense of not being able to breath.
Internet pictures doesnt reflect the true condition of this hotelroom 101 has mold on the bathroom ceiling, and the chairs arms are very dirty.the pool has a deplorable condition, pool in general chairs and tables looks never been cleaned or bleached for a long time.
Hotel is located in a very busy spot. Rooms were well insulated allowing minimal noise from hallway/outside. Staff was courteous. Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable, breakfast variety good. The entire staff must take pride in their hotel. I highly recommend this location if you are in the area. Just off I-75 - location is very convenient. Parking was not a problem for this visit, but could be.
First time staying here and while it was nice and clean, this hotel is probably due an update soon. The staff was excellent and since we were traveling with an infant, they had a crib for the room almost before we got to our room. My main complaint, and it is probably nothing that hotel can do, is the blocking of the access road by big trucks and buses. We will stay here again despite the access difficulty.

2022-04-25Bed and pillows were comfortable. The door on my room wouldnt close had to jimmy the door to get it close. Breakfast is what you expect but the eggs were very salty. Attendant said its not supposed to have any seasoning so it might have been a bad batch. The bathroom could use a little redo with the grout to be redone it was dirty looking. But for a quick stay it was not bad. We did see a review of someone saying they saw roaches so believe I looked an didnt see any traces. Husband said it did smell like bug spray but I didnt smell it.

2022-06-21Disappointed with this location. Old hotel, not very clean, staff is just getting by. They gave me a key to a room that wasnt mine. The rooms are pretty dated and need work. Worst of all the price is nuts...179 for this? I just stayed at a Marriott for 164 and it was MUCH nicer. This has actually made me switch to the Springhill Suites by Marriott chain. Done with holiday inn.

2022-02-20This place is amazing. We stopped on our way down to FLA. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable. And Emmett was the best. So kind and friendly. And they also have an amazing breakfast bar I recommend if you are down this way to stay here. You will not be sorry

2021-09-08Nice friendly service. Clean, neat, and roomy hotel room. Sorry, but I generally hate all hotel pillows b/c they say firm and and they not firm, including these. The bed was comfortable and cozy otherwise. Need another chair for a room that holds 2-4 people. Wish the sink and mirror were apart from commode and shower to allow flexibility with 2 or more people trying to get ready. I did live the nice large countertop in the bathroom. Overall very nice fir one night.

2022-03-18Horrible staff lacking knowledge and no management. Over 20 minutes to do a simple check in. Got it wrong and billed it to the wrong place, spent a week trying to talk to an overwhelmed manager, only to fix it, by billing it a 2nd time. Now I gotta involve IHG, my credit card Co, and over an hour of lost time. I cant leave them a review on IHG site, since they decided to not input my IHG # and not credit me for my stay. Usually, IHG is a good brand, but avoid this property

2022-02-08Other than the great customer service at check in and check out this place wasnt great. Our AC was broken so had to move upstairs. We had a drunk guy in the room across, singing to us at our door. We have two children...not a fan. Mirrors were dirty, our need room needed a nice dusting, AC in both rooms needed a DEEP cleaning, breakfast was fine - not many choices and the pancake machine was broke. I love IHG but this had to be in my top worst places with them. Mad I used points for it!

2022-04-01This hotel needs a makeover. The furniture is in very poor condition. Desk chair was in the worst condition I have ever seen. Lighting in bathroom was horrible. The a/c made noise throughout the night. The staff was great.

2022-01-14Buyer Beware - keys did not work at all so we had no way to access our room except thru the staff at the front desk - EVERY TIME. The non existent management was nowhere to be found and never acknowledged multiple attempts to contact them. IGH was not helpful so I can only say, visit this hotel ony if you’re not interested in security or customer service. The staff at the desk were wonderful, trying to make excuses for there lack of management support.
