Excellent hotel in a very good location with easy access to all tourist attractions. Even though ‘express’ title the hotel is far superior to the same type in UK. Our standard room was very good size and easily would have been marked as a superior room elsewhere. Bed comfortable and microwave and fridge in room. Best part of stay was the staff, in particular the evening manager LONI who really made our stay memorable and treated us with a smile and friendly chat each time we saw her. Other reviews regarding the staff at this location are not wrong - they really go above and beyond to assist and are very approachable and friendly. Any requests made to front desk were completed with no fuss and promptly. Very happy to recommend this hotel.
Greatest location for your Savanah trip for sure!Breakfast was great and on the healthier side too!The people here are super nice and helpful if you have any questions.Rooftop hot tub was great on the cool nights after adventuring.Dont valet just park in the garage (they put it there anyway for 40 bucks) its like 10 bucks a night to do it yourself and convenient.
The hotel is perfectly situated on Bay Street with access directly across the street to the steps leading down to the river. It was far enough away from the action so that noise from the river area establishments did not interfere with the ability to sleep. Right across the alley was the parking garage, but it tended to fill up at peak times, so I had to go a few blocks further to initially park my car. I was able to walk easily to all the major sights within ten to fifteen minutes and rarely needed to catch the free city shuttle buses. There were multiple restaurants within minutes of the hotel. The room was clean and staff was friendly. There was a slightly-limited number of choices at breakfast due to Covid, but there was still a good breakfast to be had. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
We love Holiday Inn Express. The hotel is in a prime location near the river, as well as great restaurants and the trolley. We enjoyed the hot breakfast that is offered, including cheese omelets. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel, and that they clean all common areas every hour. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and made us feel welcome. We recommend Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express to anyone visiting Historic Savannah.
This hotel is an excellent choice for personal or business travelers. Very clean in all areas, front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, as was concierge. We had a river view room on the 5th floor. The street noise might be a challenge for light sleepers, but we loved the view. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean and well supplied with everything. River Street is just one block away! Hot breakfast was okay. Some fresh fruit would be a welcome addition, but the coffee was very good. I highly recommend this hotel.
Within easy walking distance to most of River Street, Broughton Street, City Market, Food Tours, and pick up for Trolley Tours. The hotel concierge Carol was extremely helpful and friendly. We highly recommend using her services. The hot items breakfast could have changed up a little more during the 4 days we were there, but overall was good. (The scrambled eggs were better than the omelets.) Parking was a little steep, so we found free parking elsewhere on the street. Overall we would stay here again!
This hotel is in the perfect location as you can have a nice short walk to the Riverwalk or hop on/off a trolley. However, while the lobby and eating areas have been upgraded, the rooms have not. This was not a budget friendly place and so I expected for the rooms to be at least very clean and they were not. Carpet was wet/humid, bathroom floors were greasy/slippery. I would not stay here again. The staff was nice and the concierge lady that we talked to on Sunday morning was awesome.
We stayed here while visiting savannah. The hotel is located right in the middle of the city across the convention center. The room was clean and well maintained although the bathroom needs some work as the tile floor was broken. The hotel had pool which was located on the terrace. It was clean with jacuzzi too. The morning breakfast was good too with many options. There is also paid parking right next to the hotel in case you are traveling with a car. There are lot of eating options and shops around the block. I just wish they had the bar open all days of the week. Right now , it’s open only for Friday and Saturday.
Amazing view. Was it worth the $300 per night (not including parking)? The room was clean but the age of the hotel certainly shows, along with a faint musty smell. Everything was in walking distance. Its certainly a beautiful spot, but I think that I may take my chances with a different hotel on my next visit.
The service, with all the staff, especially the concierge Sheila Mathis, was exceptional. Sheila was very personable and knowledgeable, and provided great information about Savannah and points of interest for our short stay. The room was clean and provided a good view of the river. Overall, a terrific stay and a hotel we will reserve on our next visit.
After a horrible experience with an Airbnb, we decided to drive around until we found a hotel. This is the first one we stopped at. The guy at the reservation desk was very friendly and helpful. There was one room left in the hotel. Everything in theroom appeared clean besides an empty bag of chips behind the night stand. The breakfast was decent. The room rate was expensive, but after a stressful afternoon, it was nice to climb into a clean bed and relax.
Overall the hotel was nice, but our $300+/night room was not so great. Not so great things: the shower curtain was broken, the Keurig wasnt fully together and luckily I was able to figure the piece that wasnt correct, there was someones dirty underclothes in the bottom drawer of the dresser, there was also hair in the shower belonging to someone else, and our room was right on the street side and it was extremely loud all night long....all night. None of us slept well with all the noise. So if you get a room with a balcony, which was nice, itll be a very loud room at all hours of the day & night. The good things: the room was clean, the rooftop pool and hot tub were nice, the breakfast was really good and plentiful, and it was walking distance from many things. For the price we paid I probably wouldnt do it again though. If I found a good deal I would, but not a balcony room again.
10/10 would not recommend seems nice when you walk in but don’t let it fool you. We seen a few bad reviews and still went giving it a chance, big mistake. Breakfast was terrible barely any options. We moved from our first room because it smelled like mold and musty. Checked out 3 other rooms decided on the one that wasn’t that bad, just to find out the bathroom was a wreck. Hair all over the bathtub, before anybody showered, MOLD on the shower current. The sink kept clogging , disgusting. The toilets handle broke off and we had to open up the toilet to flush it. It still smelled like musty and mold. DIRTY CARPET, ruined all of our socks, feet were black walking on it. The manager was very unprofessional upon arrival, felt as if we were staying in a super 8. Take this as your sign DONT STAY HERE. Stayed between may 23-29, 2022.
Great location, and a decently well kept hotel especially for a non-luxary hotel in Savannah (I have had disappointment at other name brand places I usually trust in the past). The rooftop pool / patio area was nice. As a tip there is a public parking deck right next to the hotel which is much cheaper than hotel valet parking.
Front desk clerks, Carlos and Natalie and valet, Tyler, went above and beyond to provide us excellent service. The hotel interior was beautiful and our room was spacious. The roof top pool and hot tub was great with an incredible view. They stored our luggage after check out, while we toured the city. Would stay again!
Holiday Inn Express was amazing in several ways. Location was right where you wanted to be. Employees went up and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Cleanliness was a top priority. Always wiping touched surfaces down. Concierges Walter and Carol were great help in arranging tours, etc. Our next visit to Savannah we will be booking Holiday Inn Express again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful city with us!!
We stayed the first weekend in April 2022. This was our first visit to Savannah, and we fell in love with the city and plan to return! We opted for two of the 2 Queen Standard River View High Floor rooms. We were assigned one room on the 8th (top) floor and one on the 6th floor. The 8th floor room was worth the extra money for a river view, but the 6th floor room was not as the river was barely visible. If we opted for this room type again it would only be if we could be guaranteed a room on the 8th floor (cant speak to the 7th floor)- we did enjoy watching the sunrise and the comings and goings of the huge container ships from the 8th floor roomBay street is a main highway through town and traffic is understandably noisy- many large dump trucks and semis during the day and loud music from vehicles at night. Once asleep we werent bothered by the noise, but if you are a light sleeper you may want to get a room on the back side of the hotelThe hotel is in a good location to walk to many tourist sites, so many times we didnt need to get our car from the garage. The hotel has valet parking, but we opted to unload the car and then use a public garage behind the hotel as the price was half that of the hotels. The pool area has great views and is a nice relaxing spot to hang out. The pool is not heated so not useable to us in early April. The hot tub was nice to sit in, but the jets werent working very well so no bubbles.Breakfast had a nice variety, was well stocked, and the area was very clean and tidy. We breakfasted generally before 730 am, so not sure if any of that changes as more people come down.Room cleaning is by request only. We were not informed of this at check in, and requests are hit and miss. In our case one rooms request got thru, the other one did not.Lastly, after checking out we realized we left a clothing item in one of the rooms. We contacted the hotel but the item was not found or turned in.Now that we have been to Savannah and have a better feel for the layout of the city and the things we want to see and do, there are so many other hotel and lodging options in the city we will likely give one of those a try for out next trip to this charming, lovely city.
Full disclosure, we stayed on points so value was obviously good. Room wasnt ready at check-in time but they called twice to let us know as we were walking River Walk. Had planned to leave the car in nearby garage but it was full, valet took a little long to get the car out in the morning, might not do that again. Room was great with a balcony overlooking Bay Street. This was a both a plus and a minus. Very scenic, but road noise was quite loud. Would do again because of the view, but dont expect a good nights sleep. Breakfast room looked new and staff was friendly a choices were the usual for HIE which is okay with me. Two minutes or less to restaurants and shops on River Walk.
Quality and an ideal location near River Street make this an amazing hotel in the historic district. Cleanliness was an obvious priority - they go as far as to have scents throughout the foyer and the hallways of the floors. Will definitely consider staying here again in the future on our next trip to Savannah.
An unexpected gem. 💎 Facility and staff were all excellent. Breakfast was good and had varied hot dishes day to day. Public parking garage situated next door with a max full day fee of $14, less for shorter parks. They have valet serice at $40+ if you rather have the hotel park for you. 👂🙉 The only negative would be that the walls are thin and youll know if the adjoining room is occupied. I highly recommend a balcony room overlooking the river on the 5th or 6th floor. Great views and cool monsterous cargo ships cruise by. 🚢
We traveled to this hotel out of our way so that we could have a comfortable night rest. The male attendant at the desk on the night of 7/8/22, was incredibly rude and not willing to truly care about taking my reservation because I asked if I could review what one of the rooms looked like prior to reserving the room. He said, and I quote, Its too late for all that.
We loved this hotel, the location was more than perfect. The room was clean and comfortable. My husband loved that he had more than one pillow, that is his thing. The price was great for the service and stay. We did not use the valet service and we were always able to get parking. Breakfast was good and better than expected. My kids loved the rooftop pool and I loved the lounge area. Would recommend to my closest friends and family.
Ask the front desk to do a full clean two days in a row and they haven’t even attempted to clean. I asked the front desk for towels, toilet paper, bed sheets and a vacuum and they were like “do you just want to do a full service” yea junior obviously I asked and nothing done hence why I am asking for all the supplies so i can do it
We loved the location of this hotel in the historic distance, easy walking distance to most everything. The hotel was beautiful, & clean, fairly recently remodeled. Rooms were good size, beds very comfortable and nicely appointed. Breakfast was very nice and included. We loved the roof top pool and hot tub which had incredible views of the river. Would stay again and highly recommend. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
This hotel is in a perfect location in the Historic District of Savannah. I had looked at several other IHG hotels in the area and was very happy we chose this one. It is centrally located and within walking distance of everything within the Historic District, and across the street from the river. There is a public parking garage located directly behind the hotel, so parking was a breeze. Our room was very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and I liked that the window had a black out shade if you like to sleep in a really dark room at night. I think they should put an extra bar of soap in the bathroom to use while showering in case you dont like using body wash. Besides that, everything in the room was great. The breakfast the hotel provided each morning was nice too. A good variety of food to choose from as well as a selection of coffee, tea, milk, juices, and water. I was honestly expecting only a very basic breakfast due to Covid, but was happy to see this hotel offered a full breakfast offering. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to visit Savannah and want somewhere to stay in a great location, with comfortable beds, and a decent breakfast!
This hotel was excellent! The rooms were nice and spotless. I checked in early after traveling, and I walked into a big sign that showed happy hour. The happy hour was a bonus, but the pool and jacuzzi were also very nice. Breakfast was fantastic, and it had multiple choices. The hotel was easy to leave and walk to many places! Overall, everything was great, and I would stay at this hotel again.
We had an excellent stay at this Savannah HIE hotel. The front desk staff, especially Bryana, is very hospitable, friendly and helpful, This was our first trip to Savannah. Teresa the concierge along with the front desk staff gave us great recommendations, ideas, discounts to multiple sights and restaurants. The rooftop pool and especially the hot tub was very enjoyable. The comprehensive breakfast selections were great tasting and presented in a very safe way to make guests feel comfortable. The hotel is on a high traffic, including trucks, city street one block up from the riverfront in the heart of the historic area. Overall a good experience and if visit Savannah would highly recommend.
Arrived at 11:30PM for an extended weekend, hotel was nice and clean when you walk in, smells good. Front desk staff was in a disagreement when we arrived. They kept on even while we were getting our key. Made the feeling a little uncomfortable. The man was agitated and the female walked away and continued to talk from across the lobby. There were no luggage carts to be found so we had to haul our things up. Not a big deal but would have been nice to have. Once in our room everything was in order besides the lamp on one side did not work and the shower could have been cleaned a little better. Talked to the security gentleman, Dominic I believe was his name. He was great! Nicest guy we met the whole weekend. The room served its purpose for a place to lay our head but wouldnt be my first choice when returning.
This IHG property is in a good location, right in the heart of the historic district making it an easy walk to all the shops, restaurants, attractions and just general enjoyment of Savannah. Staff was very courteous and professional. Reception and breakfast area staff utilized masking protocol; not so much the other guests. I did notice that housekeeping did not wear masks which I found a bit unnerving as they were the ones entering my room. They do offer daily housekeeping services. The elevator in this property was out of service several times creating long wait times to get up and down to rooms. The issue was never fully revealed but the staff was very apologetic about the inconvenience. Do not recommend rooms facing Bay Street or river. Though many reviews did, we found that Bay Street is an extremely travelled road with tankers, construction, general car traffic and tracker trailers making it very noisy. It did quiet down at night but the river view is not all that great. Savannah is an industrial port and there are a lot of container and cargo ships going by. Overall this is a great property, convenient and a pleasant experience.
This is a clean modern hotel in a great location. It is highly rated for a reason. This might be the best HIE that I have stayed at. Everything looks new, and staff were very efficient and professional. Free breakfast is what you would expect at a HIE. They seemed fully staffed. Recommend higher floors with river view rooms. Rooftop pool and pergola has great views. Valet parking is pricey, I recommend the public parking deck right next door, though spaces are small. Dont bring your Suburban. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is close to all the action - River Street, restaurants, shops and sight seeing. Can walk to almost everything you want to see in Savannah. Hot breakfast at the hotel was good. Eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, oat meal, juices and more. Daily maid service with fresh towels and linens. Clean and quiet hotel. Wed stay there again.
My husband and I stayed here one night mid October. We had both been to Savannah several times before. We feel like the location of this hotel is the best to explore this amazing city. The staff were very friendly, the rooftop pool has an amazing view, the breakfast had enough to get us going in the morning, the bed was comfy and we don’t have a single complaint. We would definitely stay here again if the price was right.
Had a great time is Savannah! Staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. My only complaint would be spending over 250 a night should not include a broken toilet seat and a sink that is backed up when youre trying to brush your teeth. I did enjoy the location and would be willing to give the Holiday Inn another shot.
I recently spent five nights at this property and enjoyed most everything about my stay. The location cannot be beat: right on Bay St. with easy access to all the major sights. Parking garage was next door, so no need to valet park. Even when the garage is full, there is another within a couple of blocks. The room was the usual HIE issue, and the only disappointment was that the view was of the parking garage if you dont pay for the river view. Not a biggie since I wasnt in the room long enough to care. The staff was universally friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was the usual variety of hot and cold options, and the morning crew made sure that everything was well stocked. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again. I think a couple of services/amenities which could be improved are getting in enough staff (hard to do these days in all service areas) to get the rooms made up earlier in the day. It was frustrating to come back in the late afternoon to the room not made up and seeing the cleaning cart in the hallway. By that time, people want to come in, relax in their room, wash before dinner, etc. With the imminent arrival of the cleaning staff, that wasnt an option. Also the lounge area which was supposed to be open on the weekend was closed because the staff member was ill. The short staffing made it impossible to offer the amenities that I suspect many look forward to. Again, these were not major issues, but areas for improvement. I do hope to stay here again and I recommend the property to anyone wanting a good, reasonably-priced location from which to explore Savannah.
We were visiting for a couple of days and found the locale convenient and within walking distance to just about everything. Had a view overlooking the riverfront and found the accommodations to be top notch. Bed was comfortable, bath was very nice, and the included breakfast allowed us to get our mornings going to see the sights of Savannah without a long wait. This is not the typical Holiday Inn Express. Definitely more upscale, so don’t let the name fool you into thinking this is a cheap roadside inn. Teresa, the concierge, was very knowledgeable and helpful as well.
Location is perfect. Breakfast was good and all staff were very nice. Loved the view from the rooftop pool area. Housekeeping is lacking, but this is a universal, Covid problem right now. Price for valet parking is way too high. We knew this in advance, but we arrived during the evening on a Saturday and closest garages were full so we had to use it. Moved the car the next day to the garage that it is right next to hotel.
Great location downtown near lots of restaurants, parks, historic sites, etc. The whole property was very clean, rooftop pool / open space was a very nice bonus. Parking garage immediately next to hotel was convenient to use. Everything was great and we will stay here the next time we come to Savannah.
Very nice, clean hotel. We did have to ask for a room cleaning. Covid restrictions? We got towels ourselves. Bed was comfortable. Slow to get hot water in the shower. Roof top pool/spa was great, but loungers need replacing. They’re coming apart. The view up there is breathtaking. Breakfasts were really substantial. I took food to our room, but the dining area was very clean and a young man was wiping, emptying garbage, making coffee. (Terrible coffee, but you know, coffee you make at home is always the best!) Overall, great experience and we would highly recommend. Close to pick up area for tours, in fact, it’s just steps away. Close to riverfront shops and eateries.
Our room was very comfortable however, we had to ask to have a room cleaned and, one day had to take towels off the housekeeping cart as we had no clean towels. Bed was comfortable. I loved it when you opened the closet a light came on inside. Rooftop pool was wonderful, and never crowded. The view from the top with stunning. You could see the river traffic and the activities below. The pool loungers need to be replaced as they are dirty, and they’re coming apart. I loved the towel area by the pool being constantly maintained. The breakfast area was clean and well-maintained by a young man who was constantly wiping, emptying trash, and refilling coffee. By the way, the coffee was terrible. Bitter. The food was great. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was just steps away from the pick up area for tours. Close to restaurants, and activities.
We only stay one night going home to Florida from North Carolina. We have stay at this HI EXPRESS many times and always enjoyed our stay. It was just as good this time as all the others.A perfect location one block from the river and all those great places to see.King bed room overlooking the river made it even better.
Stay here if you are going to Savannah! In the heart of the town within walking distance to just about everything. Clean room, exceptionally knowledgeable staff about the area. Concierge was on point with recommendations. Clean rooms, well appointed and quiet. And if you come for the Savannah Rock n Roll marathon, the start line is literally outside the front door.
The location was excellent as it was near and walking distance to most key places we wanted to visit. The ghost trolley tour we took even had a stop right out front. It was nice to be able to conveniently come back to the hotel to rest when we needed. We had a corner room and I was surprised at how nice the room was. It was roomier than I expected, clean and overall seemed newer/modern. Our room faced a busy street so you can hear people or cars (esp on weekends), but by late evening it was alright and we werent bothered by it. Maybe my only complaint is that the elevator is kind of slow so you may have to wait a couple or few minutes for it, but it really did not hamper our stay at all. The staff were friendly and helpful. When the concierge was busy with another couple, the security stepped in to help and called in a tax for me. If youre looking for a clean comfortable place in a central location, this place ticks the boxes and more. Overall, the hotel was great and I would recommend to others.
This hotel is very conveniently located and close to River Street. The lobby was very clean and welcoming, the breakfast was nice, and we really enjoyed our interaction with the concierge, Theresa. However, there was an issue with housekeeping. I would recommend contacting the hotel before booking to find out if there is daily maid service, as that was not provided during our stay, and we were not informed about it beforehand.I would also recommend the Kelly Grayline tour, booked through the concierge, if you have two days in the area. The first day is the trolley tour, and on the second, there is a van available to transport you to any of the stops along the tour, which is a very convenient extra bonus.
The Holiday Inn staff and location is superb in Historic Savanna, and once you walk out of the hotel, there is so much to see and do. We have been visiting Savanna for years and we enjoy it every time we come. We were very especially surprised and pleased to see all the new renovations and development down by the river. Our stay only was for three nights and with all there is to see we walked 18 miles and used Uber to accomplish our goals. We love taking advantage of the Savanna tours, and highly recommend the horse and carriage ghosts tours in the evening. We will be back next year and return to the downtown Holiday Inn for another visit.
The hotel is easy to get to and very well located for sightseeing, dining, and shopping. The tour bus pick up is right at the hotel! The staff is very helpful, from the valet kids to the front desk and room service personnel. I used valet parking because I had shuttle service through my tour bus company for two days, but there is a parking garage right behind the hotel if you choose to park your own. The hotel is clean, well decorated, well lit, and safe. Breakfast is fine and has a nice street view. The rooftop pool-beautiful, and the lobby bar-genius. I had a corner room which afforded me a wonderful view of the waterfront and the side street below. Loved that. I would certainly stay here again.
Our room was crowded, poorly designed, and definitely over-priced. It was my wifes birthday present; what a let-down! We canceled our last night and stayed at another hotel across town for less than half the price. There, we slept in a king-size bed, and the room was spacious and comfortable. Compare this to what the Holiday Inn Express provided. We were in a tiny pigeon hole on the top floor, and slept in a double bed. In the morning, the (one and only) window was impossible to see out of due to condensation. We were clearly over-charged!
The staff are what make this hotel great. The concierge, Theresa, in particular, was the best I have ever encountered. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The price was high but in line with surrounding properties. Breakfast was included and hot items were offered. The breakfast selection was varied.
Me and my daughter attended a field trip to the convention center in Savannah Georgia. Although there were plenty of people visiting the area I feel that for a Holiday Inn the elevators could have been a lot better.Elevator needs work!!Breakfast was amazing. Staff were well groomed the atmosphere was very welcoming warm and cozy.
The views from the balcony were breathtaking. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The breakfast was simply ok, not bad, but the pandemic has everything pre-packaged and I imagine it would be not different at other hotels. The best part of our stay was Teresa, the concierge! Her kindness and smile, and willingness to go above and beyond was over-the-top perfect!!! Adjoining room noise is a little rough if you have the type with doors between the rooms, but having a Teresa concierge made it worth it! Did I mention how awesome she was? This was a great little get away when we needed it most!
Held a Presidents Club Trip for Mortgage Financial Group, Inc. In Savannah Ga. This hotel was fantastic! The location is ideal for anyone wanting to be close to all the action. We had a corber room with any amazing view. Definetly ask for a corner room!. Breakfast each morning was hearty and plentiful. Very pleased with our stay!
Sorry to say that my friend and I couldn’t stay longer, we found you bc we stayed in another HIE in Lorton VA. You all were so accommodating to us, from check in, to valet, to the very clean room, to the fabulous FREE breakfast, and staff everywhere in the building, we thank you. I never saw so many staff members cleaning everything in sight. Now I know what you mean by southern hospitality. Enjoyed eating next door at Treylor Park (lol) too. I will be back again some day to explore the city further. Thanks for the restful night.Jersey girl 👧🏻
Great Customer Service. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The check in was quick and easy. The front desk service was OUTSTANDING even though the hotel was sold out and several people were waiting to check in at the same time. I was very pleased with my room and the large TV was an added plus.My wife and I enjoyed the roof top pool and hot tub. Although I did not use it, the exercise room had up to date equipment and I saw several people using the equipment. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and there were plenty of tables/chairs for people to sit at. We did not feel crowded. The hotel is about a block away from the river walk and other city attractions were easy to walk to.
Our stay at the the Holiday Inn Express was better than many of our stays at full service “luxury” hotels. The beds were so comfortable, I slept better than I do at home. The toiletries were great. Really liked that they were full sized and I didn’t have to battle with them to get the product out (more environmentally friendly too). The staff were wonderful.
We took a trip here and had a great experience! All staff members were so helpful and kind! The pool and view from the rooftop were great! Breakfast was also delicious and had a wide variety of options! We would definitely come back. The location couldn’t be beat as it was centrally located and close to river street.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly! The concierge was very knowledgeable and helped us coordinate our trolley tour and recommended excellent restaurants within walking distance. The staff made sure common areas were clean and sanitized, so we felt very safe.
My husband and I loved our stay at this hotel in the historic district. The hotel had a beautiful lobby, clean rooms, comfortable beds and a wonderful rooftop pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and we liked that there was always fresh coffee available for us. The location was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere.
Location and front desk staff were very good. Breakfast was typical menu. The problem was with housekeeping providing the basics. Upon arrival very little toilet paper on roll and no back up supply, later in stay no shampoo, no soap, no body wash. Requested extra blanket or comforter and they sent up a mattress pad. Each day was a different unhappy housekeeping surprise.
Wonderful hotel in a great location. Rooftop pool was great and we enjoyed it very much. Continental breakfast was about what you would expect, nothing great. Would also be nice to have more luggage carts available for arrival and departure. We did have to wait for one both on arrival and departure.
This is our 3rd stay at this hotel. Excellent service, cleanliness. All staff very helpful and friendly. Centrally located across from river street. Ideal location to walk any where. Valet parking and security but we always felt safe where ever we went. A beautiful roof top pool and hot tub to relax. Will definitely go back
The location is great, thats why weve stayed at this facility numerus times. The stay never disappoints. Several reasons we love this place is because of the front desk staff and the concierge. It would no be nearly as enjoyable of a visit if Teresa and Natalie were not employed there. Teresa is fun to talk with and recommends excellent places to eat and enjoyable things to do. Walter was also very helpful with his suggestions. Natalie handled our booking and the experience could have not been any better. She was most accommading and just a real pleasure to interact with.
Room was very nice with a chaise lounge so that we could sit by the window and watch the traffic on Bay Street and River Street. The bed and pillows were way more comfortable than most hotel rooms. The Concierge service was very helpful in planning our daily outings. The hotel is centrally located so we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. The breakfast was nice and met our needs. There was a different selection each day. Will definitely stay here again when we visit Savannah.
UPDATE: This is the correct hotel I reviewed. I even spoke to Wendy in person when I was at the hotel about the first issue and even walked with her through the room. The other issues happened when she was not present and I had to deal with whoever was at the front desk.I was given a room that was not cleaned with dirty recycled towels but was quickly transferred to a new clean room. The DINGY DIRTY towels need to be stripped and washed with bleach. The WORST part about my stay was the HORRIBLE SEWAGE SMELL coming through the vents!! Apparently the front desk said there’s a WASTEWATER (sewage) tank that sits right next to the building that smells & couldn’t do anything about it. I honestly don’t know how no one else smelled it unless this room gets all the smell. I’d like to point out that breathing in this type of air is not healthy and can make you sick. I couldn’t sleep well my entire stay because the smell would be 100 times worse at night.
Hotel is in a great location! Was able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Staff was very friendly and even got to check in to our room 3 hours early! Room was cozy as well. However... I woke up in the morning to make coffee for my husband and I. Opened the keurig coffee pot up, but my pod in it. Went to add the water and luckily I looked before adding!! There was liquid in there that looked like it had not been cleaned out for sometime now. It was very slimy and had mold on it! I was very disappointed and upset! Went downstairs to let staff know. They were very friendly, said they would get someone up there. However, I never heard anything back and the staff didnt even offer anything to me for this situation.
The staff made accommodations for a reunion of four sisters with two adjoining rooms. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. It was the perfect environment for our time together. Our concierge arranged a land and sea package for a riverboat trip, a historic trolley tour, and for transportation to and from many of the main venues. We enjoyed “Southern Hospitality” during our entire stay.
LOVE THIS HOTEL AND THE STAFF. From arrival to leaving in the early AM everyone is polite, friendly and helpful on anything we could need. The balcony rooms are fabulous. You get to look out at the river and watch all the activity of people and international ships coming and going. HIGH RECOMMEND this hotel.
Great friendly service. Comfortable bed and good breakfast with lots of choices. The location of the hotel is great and you will not be disappointed with the views from the pool area. We stayed in a handicap accessible room and it was very spacious. The only thing I would like to suggest is to put a handrail behind the fold down bench in the shower so that people in wheelchairs are able to safely transfer. We will definitely be back this was our second year in a row staying in this hotel and we couldn’t be more pleased.
Absolute best part of my trip was the concierge Walter. He went above above above and beyond to help our 1st trip to Savannah a very eventful one. We asked for ideas on where to eat for thanksgiving and he printed out all the restaurants that were and weren’t offering it so we could make a great decision. He gave us wonderful budget friendly ideas and was very interested on what we enjoyed most out of our guided tour. Kelly tours us definitely the way to go. They are all so friendly and remember your face and genuinely care about your trip. I would have loved to have given 5 stars however they didn’t clean our room and there are 4 of us so our trash cans fill in one day and we ran out of cups and other amenities. Unless things have changed I didn’t know I had to ask for cleaning service. We stayed for 6 days and we didn’t have a do not disturb on our door. (We didn’t even have one) Other than that the greeter was so nice to let us use his big cart thing to take up all our luggage. The staff were very nice at the front desk and the breakfast crew was nice however the breakfast was NO WHERE NEAR the pics showed online. The room was a little small but for where it’s at we were overall satisfied. Thank you Holiday Inn Express.
Very comfortable hotel conveniently located close to everything downtown. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast. Elevators are kind of slow and it was often kind of hot in the lobby and elevators but that’s nothing major. Overall I would absolutely stay here again. The rooftop pool and gym were spectacular! It was great getting to hang out by the pool and see the barges coming down the Savannah River. Definitely an awesome experience and I will likely be choosing this location to stay going forward when I travel to Savannah.
Everyone was so friendly! Rooms are nice, pool, hot tub on the room was beautiful! Breakfast was good. This was an amazing stay. It was for business, but I am looking to return for vacation. I would stay in this hotel again and definitely in this area. It is right at the center of the historic downtown area, which was so beautiful. Great stay!
Fantastic gem in the heart of downtown Savannah. Stayed here with two kids, very family friendly and perfect location to walk to tourist destinations. Continental breakfast was phenomenal! So many options. Kids loved the rooftop pool, amazing views. Fantastic price for hotel quality.
Apalled by the valet service. The individual working ( had dreads) was yelling profanity at bystanders and telling them to ef off all driving the wrong way down one way streets- nearly crashing into a couple in front of us. Would not recommend supporting such barbaric behavior from this establishment.
By far the best Holiday Inn Express Ive ever stayed in. Rooms are a little small but well supplied and very clean. Bathroom was great! The room doors are quite heavy so they make a big bang when other guests walk out the door and let it close by itself so just know, there is not much sleeping in. This is a little thing but the one window we did have, they had excellent blinds that would totally block out all light which was nice.
Its a shame because its a really great location. The room was not clean. When I arrived there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, half a bottle of lotion left on the counter, no washcloths or hand towels. There was hair on the wall of the shower. There was noone at the front desk to notify, so I ended up having to call the hotel while I was out at dinner. There was also no one at the front desk for a long time when I arrived to check in which was the typical check-in time in the evening. I waited for a while before someone came out. Parking situation was not great. I didnt choose to valet when I first checked in because I was just checking in and running back out to dinner. Later on when I wanted to valet, they said that they werent able to accommodate and I had to self park. Which would have been fine if the parking deck had any available spots. I ended up having to find public parking a block away instead.
Wonderful staff, great breakfast, super comfy beds, very clean, and the location could not be more perfect for where we were. The only drawback is the parking situation, where you either pay $39 per day for valet, or you walk to the parking garage next door (which isnt a big deal unless youre just arriving or loading up to leave). But I also understand that this is probably the same parking situation for any hotel anywhere near this area. I would still stay here again! Everything else was pretty perfect!
My husband and I spent 4 nights here in June. We found the location in the historic district excellent and walkable. Our room was on the eighth floor and we had an excellent view of the river. The staff was courteous and the concierge was most helpful in making suggestions and reservations for us. A full breakfast was provided and we had a very enjoyable stay. I would not hesitate to recommend !
I recently spent 3 nights at this location. The hotel was in a great location to enjoy all of the local attractions. Easy walk to the riverfront and to historic sites. The rooms were clean and serviced daily. There was something for everyone at breakfast. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The room itself was clean, comfortable and made for a great stay. The location to the area features - River front, shopping, restaurants - was awesome. Breakfast choices/options could be increased/added to. Would stay again and would recommend!Parking recommendation…Congress Parking garage (Less than 2 blocks away) rather than the adjacent public lot next to hotel. It’s better with in/out access, better on budget and has a car wash option.
I cannot say enough positive things about my stay. It was my first visit to Savannah. The location alone is worth booking here. Right across from the riverwalk, easy to walk to wonderful restaurants and sights. Great ease of access to highways to Tybee. The room was clean, the blackout curtains kept it dark. The bed and pillows are comfortable. You can purchase Leopolds ice cream in the lobby. Overall a really great experience. OH and the views from the rooftop pool area are extraordinary!
Our stay here was fabulous! The hotel itself is beautiful. It looks brand new. Super Clean and very comfy. The staff was delightful and so helpful. I cant really tell you anything more than other reviewers, but I can add my Amen to what they said about the great experience and the close proximity to the places we wanted to visit. We had a great time in Savannah and the hotel was a big part of it. Thank you for doing such a good job.
My mom and I traveled from WV to Savannah, GA for a wedding. It was our first time traveling amidst COVID protocol. We had an amazing experience. The staff, from the moment we walked in, were amazing. The check in process was quick and easy. Everyone was very helpful and so kind. I truly experienced southern hospitality. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. Also, unlike other placed I have visited, the room was already cooled off when we entered. The bathroom was very clean. The pool area was well maintained and had an exceptional view of the city. Would absolutely recommend and stay in again.
Breakfast was amazing for a hotel buffet and it had everything you could want. Even healthy alternatives! The staff was so so friendly. The guest services was fast and quick to send towels etc. the beds were so comfortable. It got noisy in the hallway in the morning, but what hotel doesn’t. It was within walking distances of allllll the bars, shops, and restaurants The one drawback was the elevators were broken the entire time. Only one was running and it took so long the elevator would be jam packed by the time they actually got there. We did a lot of stair hikes!! It wasn’t bad, but if you’re elderly or have trouble with stairs then you might want to call ahead and see if that is fixed
This was my first time staying at this location. The hotel was nice and clean; though the bathrooms could have been cleaner (mold/mildew around tub tile lines). The shower pressure was a little low. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance, not far from City Market and offers an awesome view of the river. The only disappointment was the elevator being down, there were a number of guests that complained, wasn’t a very good experience as no one was social distancing.I would stay at the property again.
Our corner room was wonderful! The view of the river extremely relaxing. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The price was quite reasonable. This hotel is SO convenient to both the Riverwalk and the historic district. No car was needed as everything is within walking distance or public transportation is very accessible.
When arriving, I was greeted by very friendly staff, it was a great start to my stay. While paying, I wanted to use touch-free pay (Samsung pay), the staff said that wasnt available but I tried it anyways and I worked! The staff said i thought them something. When going to my room, I liked the fact that there was a clean room strip on the door. When checking out my room however, there was no towels.. I took one from the pool area just so I can shower. Also, the shower washes/shampoos, were nearly empty. Overall, the room was comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was a huge plus, however, the variety was rather disappointing, the microwaves took a long time and the staff that were filling up Breakfast items made me feel as if I was in their way even though I was a paying guest.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location couldnt be better. Our bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed. The breakfast staff was very nice. We enjoyed the breakfast that was included in our room rate. We had two concerns during our stay. The first was because there are not enough employees working (not the fault of the hotel but rather people not going back to work so they can continue to receive the extra unemployment benefits), we were not able to check into the hotel until 2 hours after the scheduled check-in time. We sat in the lobby with all our luggage for two hours. Another issue that occurred due to short staffing was our room wasnt cleaned until late in the evening. We actually just asked for extra towels and didnt worry about cleaning. Our second concern was parking. There is no on-site parking. We were told to park in the parking garage next door. Sadly, it was full twice so we could not park there. We could have paid $39.00 per nigh for valet parking, which we felt was extremely expensive, compared to other hotels where we have stayed. Sadly, our room was near the elevator and ice machine. It was not a quiet room. We would stay at the hotel again. We would ask for a room in a different location.
We were very impressed with the large room and bathroom for such an inexpensive price. Everything is new and clean, and getting ready with my husband was so convenient with such a large bathroom counter. We love the convenience of the hotel, and knowing the area we asked for a room not facing Bay Street as it can get noisy. We did not have any issues with noise as it seems the windows are very good. Perfect location makes it easy to get to all of your Savannah plans.
This was our first trip anywhere since 2019. So glad we came to Savannah and even more happy with our stay at the hotel. Everyone was super friendly and took great care of us! The hotel was clean, the rooms were very comfortable. Parking was right next door and safe. I highly recommend staying here.
Upon checking in, the front desk agent east on his phone, I expressed that if I could get a slightly cheaper rate, I am traveling with my parent and if he could help maybe tiny bit, not only did he offer anything, but kept on his ear pods, and didnt express anything empathy& just border line rude if I may, even with any cheaper rate etc. Morning person was very nice& expressed a genuiness about herself
Renovated room with everything we needed! Cleanest hotel we’ve been in and we travel a lot. Perfect location for taking in the sites in Savannah. Breakfast selection each day was perfect offering omelets, sausage, bacon, health conscious options as well. Options changed daily. More seasonal fruit might be nice. Would definitely stay here again
Rooms are nice, but my booking was for. 2 queen beds and I had to settle for one queen bed and a pull out sofa bed. Also maid service is mediocre at best so far. It’s 7:30 at night and we had no bath towels and bed wasn’t made. On the positive side the rooms are nice and morning breakfast is very good. The staff at the reception desk are very responsive and friendly. I shouldn’t need to wait all day to have room made up.
The hotel is in a great location near the river. It was easy to park in the garage behind the hotel. The pool and hot tub on the roof was great. Beautiful sunsets and watching the boats on the river from up there. Hotel is clean and the staff is very good in answering questions and being helpful. Like the breakfast, enough selections for different tastes. Savannah is a nice place to visit.
My husband and I recently had an anniversary getaway to Savannah. We absolutely adore this town, it’s history and it’s amenities. Upon arriving in the unloading area, we stated that we were not going to be doing valet. While I was checking in they were rushing my husband out. We had to bring all our bags from the parking deck. Absolutely rude, if it’s just only a valet area, CALL IT THAT. While I was checking in they informed me that one of the two elevators was broken and would be fixed next day. This in fact did not happen. It was down the entire week; which caused a lot of hecticness with what appeared to be a near full hotel. Front desk staff left a lot to be desired, the many times my husband and I were in and out over the course of a week we were greeted once. The staff seemed to only enjoy goofing off with each other while donning their chin straps instead of interacting with guests. Though I will say, the concierge Teresa was phenomenal and always answered any questions we had. This hotel underwent renovations recently and the photographer whom took recent photos for their site does a wonderful job of not showing the authenticity of this remodel. Many short cuts were taken and they essentially put lipstick on a pig. The carpet in our closet had some sort of sharp carpentry tool jammed in it, the bathroom had black mold in several spots and the caulking on the vanity was severely cracked. When bringing up the mold to staff we were told ‘there’s nothing I can do bout that’ Very upsetting. Ultimately, I would avoid this hotel completely. It’s central location may seem convenient but it’s ultimately a headache.
Hotel was nice and comfortable. I feel they took all precautions due to covid. We felt comfortable staying here. Would recommend. Only problem we encountered was the bath linens. We had 3 people staying in our room, and when linens were replaced, they would only leave one or two washcloths. Requested more from housekeeping and they were very quick to bring more. We stayed 4 nights and had to request extra wash cloths each day. Not sure why that happened daily. Property was well kept. Pool with a view from the roof was nice. Parking was non-existent. Parked for $10 per day in a parking deck 2 blocks away. Be prepared for extra expense. Great location to River Street and other attractions. Overall I would recommend this hotel.
We have stayed here numerous times and have enjoyed each visit. Service is very professional and welcoming. Facility is very clean and breakfasts offer a good selection of options. The only negative is the ridiculously exorbitant cost of parking, especially given that there is a public garage right next door that charges more reasonable and affordable rates.
We stayed here in April 2021, the location is great however don’t expect anything more besides that it’s just a typical holiday inn. The room was clean and nice but the breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast with powdered eggs and the sausage was cold. It’s nice to have a free breakfast but if you’re staying in a beautiful city like this it’s much better to get out and have something better. We did not like that the bar was not open except for very limited hours I believe Thursday through Saturday, the pool was not heated and was very cold and open limited hours as well I believe until 8 PM, the hot tub could only fit four people and was only open until 10 PM. The shower and sinks also did not drain well and it seems like they are clogged and have not been cleaned in a long time.
We just returned home after a wonderful Memorial Day weekend stay at the Holiday Inn Express Historic District. The staff was absolutely lovely! The hotel and guests rooms were impeccably clean and inviting. The hotel is also centrally located and within short walking distances to all of the fun Savannah has to offer! It is one block away from the Olde Pink House. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very convenient right across from River Street and within walking distances to all other types of shops and eateries. Very nice hotel comfortable beds in the rooms very clean as well. Nice breakfast selections and a wonderful staff almost everything you want in a nice hotel stay highly recommend this place. Only drawback no hotel parking have to pay to do so but dont let this deter you from coming here
Proximity to the Harbor and many shops and restaurants Cleanliness and decor of the hotel crisp and cleanBreakfast was very nice with no limitsWonderful and courteous service. Especially the conciergeTheresa Harris. She welcomed questions and gave answers followed by helpful pointers. It was a wonderful stay!
Good hotel in the historic district of Savannah. The room was just remodeled and had a new mattress. We stayed in a corner room and it had 4 single windows. You could see the river from the room. The hotel is located with in walking distance of most things on your list to see. No parking on site,m. One nextdoor and 1 next to the Pink House. The hotel had free breakfast. The normal hotel breakfast with some type of egg and meat. There was cereal, ,oatmeal, coffeeand juice. I would stay again.
With so many hotels to chose from in Savannah, I just randomly picked one. I picked right! Not only was The Holiday Inn express a good deal and perfect location, the cleanliness and gold star staff was excellent. Make sure you stop and see the concierge for the Kelly tour of the city. The buffet breakfast was the best I have had.
Overall a great experience. The check-in lady was not very friendly, but the gentleman when we checked out was very nice. We stayed two nights and struggled getting towels for the second day. Had to ask twice, they would not let us pick them up. Ended up taking a shower and drying off with a washcloth because we didn’t get a second set of towels for over an hour. Breakfast was great, location was excellent.
After a few mix ups during check in, my stay was smooth sailing. I want to be clear that the mix up was an honest mistake, and the front desk attendant fixed the issue quickly. The way things like that are handled says a lot, that is the only reason I mention it. I was impressed with the level of customer service. Our room was clean, the beds were comfy. Excellent location. Would definitely stay here again!
This is the place to stay in downtown Savannah. Casual, Perfect location, in walking distance from everything. Nice breakfast, clean rooms, awesome view, rooftop pool. Friendly and accommodating staff. Nice for kids as well, but not in a kids running around everywhere kind of way. Perfect. Parking garage is located next to the hotel. Park and walk everywhere. This hotel is great!
The staff are first class professionals. Natalie and Teresa are among the best in the travel industry. Breakfast was great everyday and employees are friendly and welcoming. The smart TV in the room went out and the maintenance personnel installed a new smart TV in less than 5 minutes. Incredible No wonder this is the preferred hotel in Savannah Ga!
Hotel in excellent place in the middle of restaurants, nightlife, shopping, history etc. Easy to walk places and to hop on and off trolley tours. However, the staff seemed indifferent to our presence and only interacted when prompted. Attention to problems seemed like a bother. Room was not cleaned our entire stay (4 days). We had to request towels by the third day, coffee pods by the second day, and the pool and hot tub were open but there were no pool towels available and these had to be requested as well. Breakfast items were restricted which is understandable and what was offered was good. Could have been an outstanding stay had the staff been more attentive, appreciative, and able to keep up with housekeeping duties.
Positive: Good location in the city, close to the river. Parking garage behind hotel was good. Loved the roof top pool and hot tub, beautiful sunsets and watching the boats up there. Negative: Wish it had a on site restaurant so we didnt have to go out for food when we were tired and didnt want to leave the hotel. Yes I know about food deliverys but dont like doing that. Your food isnt hot and I like to sit and eat where I order food.
My wife and I decided to celebrate your Anniversary 6/28 with a get away trip to Savannah ga. Im a long time Priority Club member and we both like the Holiday Inn express brand a lot. The historic district location of this property is great for the way we like to experience Savannah when we visit. We can walk or take a Trolley ride to almost everything we want to do. The Concierge Service is really nice. Parking was problematic and I feel like the local staff could help been much more helpful in this area. They FAILED to provide the information that would have helped us. Front Desk Staff FAILED to acknowledge me as a Priority Club member.
We have stayed at this hotel several times. This time was no different, in that it is still very clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows were awesome. It is in the center of the historic district so you can walk pretty much everywhere. Would recommend this hotel and will stay again in the future.
We arrived and were greeted by Julian and Nakashimi. Both were knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly. We originally were going to have to change rooms, three-days into our stay, due to prior bookings.Nakashimi worked her magic and we were able to stay in the same room.Due to measures put in place by the hotel, we never felt we were anything but completely safe. All towel refreshes were delivered in sanitized vinyl containers. The accommodations were truly exceptional. Beautifully decorated, clean, quiet and comfortable.Hardily recommend this property.
After just one day, we decided to extend our stay in Savannah. We needed a little extra assistance to achieve this. The staff was most helpful. Our experience with the concierge was outstanding. Besides saving us money, she informed us about other services that were available to us and helpful. Our trip was greatly enhanced by the staff and concierge. Thank you.
We arrived for a one night stay on our way to Florida. We are so happy we picked this location. The parking garage was right next door and super easy to use. Theresa checked us in and she was AMAZING. She got us booked for a tour of the city, she recommended eating at Boars Head and called them up to get us a reservation. (It was delicious!). She graciously gave us a late check out and told us some other great pointers about the city. Our room was clean and so comfortable. We will definitely be back. The bartender was also so nice. The other staff was also very friendly that we encountered. We loved it. The rooftop pool was also beautiful but the weather was too cold for us at that time. This location is perfect for exploring Savannah by foot.
This trip was for my parents, everything was within a short walk, restaurants, stores, coffee shops, tours etc. The rooftop pool was nice and the view was amazing. My parents had a great view of the river and their room was great, and cleaned. However, the room I had was subpar in comparsion, the view didnt matter because I was out most of the day. My room was not cleaned the entire 3 night stay.
The room was super clean, more clean than anything I have ever seen before and the location is within walking distance to so many wonderful things. Do the dolphin tour! Its great! The breakfast wasnt bad even with all the restrictions. You can tell they really care about the people staying here. I had a wonderful time and 10/10 I recommend this hotel. The only con was that the hot tub was broken the first day we were there but they fixed it the next day. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!
The room was very clean, and comfortable for our stay. The hotel is very close to the main road so there is a bit of noise when loud cars go by and you can always hear people when theyre in the hallway but overall the room was very quiet. It is close to River Street and there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The price was a bit steep, so I probably would rethink the stay for that reason alone but we enjoyed ourselves.
Public parking next door convenient and fairly priced. We paid more for a room on the 7th floor facing the river, but not worth it. Facing Bay Street, even on the 7th floor it is noisy. Lots of traffic and boats on the river with horns (woke me up at 7:20 am.). Lobby very small. Room itself nice, but housekeeping does not come in. Had to call downstairs for additional towels. Garbage not emptied. I guess this is standard since still in Pandemic. I was very disappointed in the breakfast. Food limited and not very good. My cereal was stale. The nightly rate was pricey for what you get. I dont think I would stay there again, but may be adequate for others. Most of the hotels in that area cost more.
Great location, very clean, excellent service! Knowledgeable concierge. Nice lobby bar. Convenient to main attractions and River Street. Quiet room. Nice fitness center and clean pool. Great experience, just had to wait for room to be ready. Highly recommend this hotel!
My last few hotel stays have been with various Holiday Inn Express’. I am always very pleased. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the hotel and room are always clean and comfortable. And we Really like having the variety of free breakfast options. I choose Holiday Inn Express whenever possible!
We went to Savannah from FL for a kid free romantic weekend! We chose this because weve always had good experiences with Holiday inns. It was walking distance to everything you might wanna do in town and was fairly priced for its location! The breakfast couldve been a little better but hey, it was free and filled our bellies for a lot of walking around. The bed was comfy and the glass shower was nice too! Very modern inside the king room we stayed in! Next time well book with the garden tub. Definitely worth it if staying in Savannah and wanting to go check out all the things the historic district has to offer within walking distance. It was a pleasant stroll to Forsyth park! Well definitely be back and probably only book this hotel. Try it out, you wont regret it! :)
We came to Savannah for a junior roller derby bout at the Starcastle Entertainment Center. The two teenagers and I were impressed by the huge breakfast spread offered and how yummy everything was. We even made sure to get up early on Sunday so we were able to get breakfast again. The view from our room was great and the fact that we had a parking pass so we could get out and about for our derby bout was a big plus. We had a wonderful stay.
This property was the best Holiday Inn Express that we have ever stayed in, no doubt about it. Perfect location, very clean, great view of the river, and extremely comfortable bed! I made a mistake in booking our four separate reservations using reward nights and points which resulted in our not having a reservation on Saturday night and they were booked solid. I do not know how she did it but Natalie performed a miracle and we were able to keep our room!Otherwise, we would have had to pack up our stuff and go find another room in the pouring rain. THANK YOU NATALIE!!!!!!!!!!!
I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Expresss on business and leisure travel. This hotel is not well maintained and is in need of a complete facelift. I would list it as one of the bottom 5 hotels I have stayed in over the last 20 years and next trip we make to Savannah we will stay at a different hotel.
I could easily give we this hotel 5 stats. It was so clean and perfectly located near everything... the absolute only issue was the noisy neighbors who screamed and laughed in their room to at least 1AM...It was as if they were in the same room with me. What was most interesting is that it was from the side of the wall where the room adjoined next door. On the opposite side of the wall I barely heard the people from that room.My conclusion: I will not stay in an adjoining room the next time and the hotel stay will be perfect!
Sharon at the front desk was exceptional- very helpful and accomodating. Mattress could have been firmer.Bathroom towels were not fully replaced, soap dish was not cleaned and a new bar added. Counter top was not cleaned. We have stayed here several times and while this last stay was our least favorable we would stay here again.
Positive: Location was ideal, within walking distance of numerous restaurants and bars and just across the street from river front. The free breakfast took some of the bite out of the room rate. Negative: Overnight parking charge seemed unreasonably high. Otherwise, no complaints.
Teresa Harris was a great help with our stay. She set us up with tours and made phone calls for city transportation to help get us started. Highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express location and be sure to ask for Teresa’s help!!!!All of the hotel staff were terrific!!!
This hotel was within walking distance of the river and easy to find. It was clean and smelled nice-even the elevators. All but one staff member was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was not great, due to Covid 19 restrictions. Valet parking was also not an option due to Covid 19. We had to park in the parking deck next door and pay for parking daily. I felt the price of the room could have been decreased due to the lack of a proper breakfast and the fact that we had to pay for parking. Otherwise, we had a great stay!
This hotel was in the perfect location for my stay in Savannah! I walked everywhere and there was a lot of public parking options. The rooftop pool was my favorite part. Although, I’m disappointed that there were no cinnamon rolls at breakfast, there were lots of great restaurants for breakfast nearby (I highly recommend the Two Cracked Eggs). Overall I had a great stay at this location and the staff was very friendly!
Me and my partner booked the last minute night in Savannah after our Airbnb stay was up. We got a fantastic room on the 6th floor overlooking the river front for not too bad of a price It was a very clean the staff was very friendly and the food was great for breakfast highly recommend.
Location of hotel was excellent for visiting sites. It was close to restaurants, bars, trolleys and historic sites. Lobby and lobby bathrooms clean, check in and out easy, needed a few things we forgot and were provided with it quickly. Consierge arranged tour for us and provided transportation was provided within 10 minutes of asking. Free breakfast was provided with a large variety of offerings.
Great location, but I will never stay at this property again. I booked this room directly through IHG about 6 or more weeks before the stay. I am an IHG member, but I dont travel much especially due to COVID. I worked in hotels for many years. I was shocked to get such a poor room paying rack rate. One floor off the street with a view of the electrical and parking garage. Very noisy and depressing. Over 1/3 of the rooms face the parking garage. Dont be fooled! The ladies at the front desk didnt even look at us when we checked in. There were dirty socks on the floor in the corner of the room.
I’ve stayed at this hotel for years. The location is perfect for historic Savannah sight seeing. Rooms are clean and well appointed. My only quibble is the hotel use to have valet and was more like a 4star hotel at a 3 star price. They no longer offer valet and the front desk staff isn’t as friendly. But for business or leisure travel it’s a good choice.
Stayed here with my son for a last minute birthday getaway. The price was great for downtown Savannah and the location was ideally situated between River St and City Market, so we didn’t need the car once we got there. The staff gave me a free bottle of wine in check in when I said I was there for my birthday and they were super friendly. The bathroom was updated and shower was great, though the bathroom and room showed some wear. Breakfast was consistent, eggs and assuage, bread and pancakes. They did run out of food both mornings and were slow to replace. Not enough seating for busy times, but not horrible. Always had cold water in the lobby, great for after walking around all day. Bed and bedding very comfy. Hotel was quiet with no street noise. Nice rooftop pool and hot tub, though on the smallish side. Would stay again
This hotel is located right in the heart of the historic district of Savanna. Its within walking distance of most everything youd want to see and you can easily catch the hop on/off shuttles across the street. It is a little pricey but that is to be expected due to the location.
We loved our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Savannah. The hotel has a great location and it is very easy to walk to everything including the historic squares, great restaurants, River Street and shopping. The staff is very professional and accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable in every way, very clean, and up to date.
We stayed the last week of sept 2021. I can’t say this is the cleanest hotel because our bedsheets smelled like old socks. The carpet in the room was wet and dirty. The bathroom does not have exhaust. Hot water takes time to come in the shower. They were cheap in giving soap, shower cap and lotion. When we asked they literally came up and gave one lotion and one soap bar. Shower cap was not provided until our last day. The breakfast was another story altogether. Our first and 3rd and 4th breakfast had no scrambled eggs, hot oatmeal was never an option, fruits besides apples was never an option. They began providing bananas on 3rd and 4th day. Pancake machine stopped working out last day. No waffles. What I noticed was there was more cheap solids as options for breakfast like bagels, bread, muffins but no lighter options like ready to go fruit bowls or oatmeal or scrambled eggs healthy cereals. Cereals options were fruit loops and Frosted Flakes, unless your customers are majority 5 yr old children, those unhealthy options don’t always work for adults. What annoyed us the most during our stay was a tall skinny guy and petite young lady working on 10/1/21 morning shift kept a watchful eye on all customers on what they were eating and how much food they were taking. The skinny tall guy practically did that the whole week. Your customers pay a lot to stay at your hotel and we do not appreciate your breakfast constantly staring and walking past many customers every morning to watch what people take to eat. I happen to over hear the young lady on 10/1/21 ask customers to throw away their plastic bags near the breakfast area as she stood there and monitored breakfast patrons. Is this what they are getting paid to do and then I saw her laugh at a customer as she walked into their kitchen room. Also, ask front desk for water bottles they are free. Remember the staff here is not very upfront on what they can provide without cost so if you want something ask. I won’t be staying at another holiday inn again. Breakfast staff needs to be fired. Concierge lady was very nice.
The room and facilities were very clean and maintained. The beds were very cozy and parking is convenient, easy to access and reasonably priced. You certainly cant beat the location. The halls were a bit loud during the night with guests returning to their rooms, but not bad. But the best surprise (and my main reason for writing this review) was the offering of gluten free muffins and bagels for breakfast! As a family with Celiac disease, hotel breakfasts can get a bit frustrating and repetitive. I have never seen GF alternatives offered, but I hope it will become commonplace. A GF blueberry muffin absolutely started the day on the right foot for my 10 year old daughter! Thank you!!! ☺️
Its just an average hotel. Nothing stood out that would make it deserve 5 or even 4 stars. The location is good, but checking in is a nightmare depending on the day. The pull-through is barely wide enough to fit two parallel vehicles, especially if someone pulls in with their giant double-wide truck. If 3-4 people are checking in at the same time, vehicles will easily back up into the main side road which causes a huge cluster of cars that cant move anywhere. There is a parking garage next door, but it fills up fast.
I felt the room was very clean. Only concern was the amount of people going in and out or on elevators together, using small spaces to cross paths in the lobby. It made social distancing hard during COVID. They had a very limited breakfast offerings. A few muffins and fruit not the usual continental breakfast we are used to from Holiday Inn Express. I understand why, though. The staff and location where perfect. It’s within walking distance of everything you’d want to do in Savannah. We walked across to river street and the view out our room was nice and the pool on the roof was good for the kids for a mid day swim when it was hot
I loved the look and location of this hotel. Very central for everything. The room was comfortable. Bed was great. Parking garage directly behind hotel. However the first night we were up all night because of loud guests. People we in and out of rooms, screaming down hall until 3am. The second night we were awaken by house keeping cleaning at 11pm at night. Hitting the walls, talking loudly, banging around. When we went downstairs and asked if this was normal... they said yep. Just seemed strange for late night cleaning.

2022-04-11This was the perfect place to stay! The hotel is very nice and clean! The bed was very comfortable and the room was plenty spacious with a great bathroom/walk-in shower. The breakfast was great with a large dining area. The guys taking care of the coffee and breakfast did a wonderful job and kept the food and coffee stocked well. The people working there were very nice and the location was perfect for touring the city, especially the Savannah River area! We loved Savannah! ❤️

2022-04-15We were in Savannah for SCAD day. We had never visited the Savannah before. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were able to walk to most things including the college, and were glad we did not rent a car for our stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a nice pool on the roof but due to chilly temps we did not use it. I would have given 5 stars but maintenance was not as responsive as we would have liked when we called about a toilet clog. Breakfast was ok but what would have made it better was more healthy choices, like whole wheat bread.

2022-04-27This Holiday Inn Express in Savannah is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, breakfast service is well monitored and more food is supplied quickly, and it is in a wonderful location in the Historic District. There is also a convenient parking garage right next door that has reasonable prices and plenty of parking. They have a very helpful Concierge in the lobby to answer questions about Savannah and help you with your needs. There is even a lovely pool on the rooftop (unfortunately it was too cold to swim). Overall, I would gladly stay at this hotel again.

2022-01-06Situated right on the corner of Abercorn and Bay Streets, you really cannot beat this location, in the center of historic Savannah. I always request a high room for the views and this one did not disappoint, with us watching the ships, BIG ships, going into and out of the Port of Savannah on the Savannah River. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel breakfast is fine and more than enough to tide you over to whatever your next meal will be, in our case dinner. Everyone was helpful and pleasant, and a particular thanks to the concierge, Theresa Harris, for helping us with dinner reservations and recommending the excellent Grey Line tour service which was good for 2 days. My only minor complaint is that the room could have been made up a bit earlier in the day. Generally they did not get there until after 3pm and sometimes later than that. Otherwise everything else was perfect and I highly recommend staying here. From this hotel you can walk to everything in Savannah that you will want to see and do.

2022-01-04This Kimpton site is showing its age and has a bit of wear & tear. The rooms lack adequate and functional charging outlets, and ability to acquire amenities was hit or miss (for example, we never received our requested glasses or coffee machine for the morning). The pool area had furniture that had not been cleaned recently, though admittedly this is the off season!, and it seemed a challenge to keep everything clean, though that may just be a function of the holiday weekend. On a good note, the lobby and courtyard are lovely, the food at the restaurant was excellent, much better than expected given online reviews, and the bar staff, front desk and valet services were helpful and friendly. Also, the hotel is located in a quieter area of the downtown area, which is nice if seeking a refuge from the hubbub.

2021-12-19We went for a Christmas visit and were pleasantly surprised how the hotel was dealing with Covid. The rooms were very clean and they offered fresh towels and room clean up each day. The morning breakfast was good and all bagels, English muffins, etc. we’re individually wrapped and all tables were wiped down after each use. The hotel is a perfect location and would definitely recommend to anyone.

2022-04-08This was our first visit to Savannah and the hotel was located in the perfect location. Across the street from the riverfront and you were only a couple of minutes to all of the best areas of the city. We didnt need a car to get around so that was even better. We loved the rooftop pool and jaccuzi and the views from there were great. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and nice from the tour concierge, housekeeping, front desk and office and the breakfast attendants. Thanks so much!

2022-04-23I am a Diamond Elite member and use IHG hotels consistently and have had great experiences. My last stay in Savannah started out well. The hotel location is perfect for sight seeing! My daughter and I stayed in a balcony room which a great view, but the road noise caused it to be difficult to sleep. Just be aware of that. We also had very noisy next door guests, but not the hotels fault. The big issue was that I noticed on my 3rd day there that they had put a $466 hold on my account instead of the $100 incidental hold. I was not informed of this. I brought this to their attention and they said it would be adjusted probably Monday, the next business day. It was not! I called back on Tuesday and was told it would be 5-7 business days, wtih no explanation of why I was overcharged. It took a week for this to be reversed, tying up my funds. Overall, with the exception of the hold on my account, it was a nice stay!

2022-05-01Great choice for the price. Perfect location. It allows me to walk everywhere I wanted to go. Right across the street from the river where all sorts of activities are - restaurants, bars, shops, tour stops.....and of course access to the Riverboat cruises.Complementary breakfast included - decent selection of hot and cold foods.Parking - valet service if chosen. This is expensive, worth it only if you plan to drive daily. I parked my car in the public garage right next to the hotel and left it there for my 3-day stay and paid half the price. If in Savannah, I will likely stay here again.

2022-02-07Fantastic accommodation. Room was perfect and staff was very friendly. Valet drivers said they didnt know how to drive a manual transmission and there was one who said she could kind of drive it. Didnt take my chances and parked and retrieved it myself but they made sure to get me the absolute best spot in the garage right by the entrance. Paid $40 for self parked, valet service, but the spot was worth it vs the 5th floor spot in cheaper public garage. Would stay again. Perfect location!
