Stayed here for a tournament, the lobby itself is very clean and looks pretty modern but the rooms are a little more traditional and less so. the vibe is more outdated and the TVs were kind of small. one of the couches had a stain on the arm rest. all minor issues though.they listed the king suite by saying “sleeps 6” but we found it was cramped for even just four. the mattresses are pretty soft if you like that. the suite itself was a little small but it had all the necessities we needed, a microwave, fridge, table for two, dishwasher, etc.they gave out bagged breakfast from 6-9 am which included an apple, granola bar, and a two pack of microwaveable sausage biscuits. you could also grab some yogurt, milk, and coffee. wish the buffet had been open but all in all not a bad experience.
Our AC unit was leaking and they handed out bagged breakfast instead of the normal buffet breakfast. However, they were really nice and apologetic about the AC and refunded us some money due to the wait to get it fixed. The bagged breakfast was related to short staffing so they handled it the best they could. All in all, they supplied the best experience they could given the staffing issue.
Absolute fail in areas of cleanliness! There seemed to be some type of animal droppings around the edges of the room walls, Ugh🤮. Duvet was clearly soiled and nightstands had not been wiped down, hallway carpet was filthy and room had to sprayed down due to funky smell upon entering.Left/checked out to return back home with no other rooms available in town due to holiday weekend. Not acceptable!!Staff was understanding and helpful with issues within their control.
We come to Columbus several times per year and usually stay in this facility without issue. It is in a good location for us and has nice grounds. This visit, our room was not up to par, nor in a good location. The issues we encountered have been mentioned and hopefully will be addressed accordingly. Overall, we have no issue with any Hilton site. This particular visit was less than the usual quality we have come to expect of a Hilton facility.
Had a very good stay at this hotel for six nights , Asia from the from desk is a valued member to the Hilton brand for her excellent customer service with helpline me solve my small issue and Mr. Thomas also did a good job with swapping out a tv that didn’t work for my PlayStation which made my stay more relaxing for me. I willDefinitely stay at the hotel if I came back to the area.
Not sure what Hilton was thinking of when they slapped their branding on this place.WEEK 1:Though I checked in through the app and got a digital key. It didnt work for the doors. It was pouring when I tried to get in, had to walk all the way around to get physical keys. When notifying the clerk of the issue, she seemed to have that tone and said it must be the weather that caused the door to not work.WEEK 2: AGAIN checked in through the app, again room was near the back of the hotel; AGAIN the door didnt work. Told another receptionist about the issue, this time he told me that its been broke for awhile. The only issue I had this week is I forgot my Sonicare toothbrush when I checked out on a Friday.WEEK 3: came back on Monday inquired about said toothbrush ($100+) none of the cleaners turned anything in. Checked into room and it was 78° in the room. Turned air down but the den area didnt cool down. I managed by keeping the bedroom door closed and had air going in it. Took a shower that night and noticed hair in the tub and shower wall. This is quite normal but what put me off was a few days later while trying to attach the sheet corner to the mattress because it kept coming off, I found the same exact hairs in the sheets. This leaves me to believe that the sheets were never changed. Around Wednesday I needed a fork for food because take-out forgot cutlery. No forks were in the drawer, opened the dishwasher and numerous plates and forks were inside and dirty. Opened another drawer and found a half eaten breadstick inside. Judging by how hard it was, it may have been there for quite some time. Last straw was when I only had sock on I peeked out of the window in the living room area and my socks became saturated with water because of the broken A/C. Notified front desk and was explaining the issue and before the words came out of my mouth she said is water all over the floor? Thats when I knew that they were aware of said issues but neglected to fix them. I checked out the next day and moved over to Hilton Garden Inn where it is very clean and have no issues so far.
The lobby is nice and the staff was friendly but our room was not great. The surfaces didn’t look wiped down well and the bathroom sink fixtures moved in ways they shouldn’t. The bathroom door got stuck on the floor as it opened and looked like someone had to force it open once and never bothered to fix the mess that created. The hanger on the back of the door was gone but some sharp bits stuck out. The grout on the floor was black. The ac was SO LOUD. On the good side it was close to dining and shopping.
The people were kind, but the room was nasty. My sink was still dirty, floor was wet from air unit, my sheets had stains, my pillow cases had yellow stains, hair on sheets with spots and bathroom door had holes, I tried opening my kitchen drawer and it came apart. Lol. The hotel has potential, but needs to do better...I did tell the people and they were friendly.I will not stay here again.I felt uncomfortable.
My family and I came up to visit my cousin for her 40th birthday and the closest we could get was columbus ga. It was clean for the most part. We still went in and did some cleaning of our own. The staff was nice, excluding the maintenance/houseperson, who acted as though we were bothering him. When he was asked to bring us some extra towels and sheets for the sofa bed. But overall it was pleasant.
I really enjoy my stay EVERY time I stay here. Im in a motorcycle club so when there is an event in Columbus I choose to stay here. Even when I want a weekend break from the hustle and bustle of ATLANTA my fiance and I come and stay for the weekend. I absolutely luv the environment and the staff. The hotel and rooms are ALWAYS clean beyond my expectations.
Do not stay here- Property is outdated and they also have inappropriate graffiti on the wall signs inside the hotel. Manager only offered me a half night credit in points for the inconvenience of my family seeing these images. Called Hilton on hold for over an hour, and then line disconnected.
First, it is old and needs a lot of upkeep. First room we had was musky smelling and room looked worn. The bedroom lampshade was severely damaged. I guess housekeeping just doesnt care because it was hard to miss. Took a photo and sent it to management. Jaila was very friendly and helpful at the front desk and assigned us a different room which was more acceptable.Second, if the restaurants are open for indoor dining, hotels should be able to serve a normal hot breakfast.
It was a good experience. I loved the digital check in! Made everything so much easier. Suite was spacious and very comfortable. Only minor complaints were the tv was set on one channel and I couldnt change it plus there was no volume. And the air conditioner was leaking water, so the carpet was wet around that area. It was just a one night stay so no big deal. Will definitely stay there again when next Im in Columbus, Ga. Hopefully they fix the tv and A/C issues to make it a 5 star stay!
During registration we asked for a crib, upon arrival we did not receive one. They ran out of blankets. When asking for extra towels, I was told that there should be enough in the room. So I asked again and finally received them. The door to my room could not be locked, previously broken somehow. The table in the room still had some dried food on it, my guess is the staff didn’t bother to clean well after the last guests. Horrible experience. Hoping that they are not all like that.I will say that the staff the morning of my departure were a much more pleasant group. My daughter left her pillow and I was able to retrieve it without incident.
Amazing quality for the price! This is the best place to stay in Columbus Georgia for a family. Super friendly staff, our suite was clean, quite, and slept 6 completely comfortably. Free dinner and breakfast was awesome. Kids loved the pool. We will definitely be returning customers!
The managers were very nice but they could not get our hotel charges correct on our credit card....they over charged us and we had a hard time getting them to correct it. The hotel room bathtub drain had tons of hair sticking out of it...one could tell it hadnt been cleaned out in I dont know how long. The breakfast offered was horrible-it was a complimentary breakfast but compared to other Hilton affiliated hotels it was terrible. One morning, the main dish appeared to be and smelled like potted meat mixed with potatos. The cooks were both very rude as well. We just ate out every breakfast while we were there.
Surprisingly excellent amenities and room. This was our first Homewood Suites visit but wont be our last. The managers reception was an unexpected bonus and fit into our plans perfectly while we sat around the pool and visited. The hotel is very safe, the staff is friendly and professional and the rooms were quiet and spacious. The large refrigerator and other kitchen amenities would be great for a traveling family.
Ive stayed at this hotel from the second time I started to travel to Georgia for work. Its in a location all its own so not a lot of traffic but is located right across the street from restaurants and down the street from a Walmart and grocery store. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful when I needed them.
This place was great! We stayed in a suite that had a kitchenette, a sitting area and a bedroom. It was clean, updated, and well equipped. The environment was calming, and the beds uber comfortable. Also breakfast is included in the cost of the room. This was an excellent breakfast! The property is located in a pretty busy area near a very busy shopping area. But inside the property itself is like an oasis of quiet and calm. The pool area was beautiful. I felt safe here. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
We have stayed at this hotel in the past due to the availability of the 2 bedroom suites. This hotel has really gone downhill in the last few years. Our rooms were not cleaned daily- we did not receive any extra rolls of toilet paper or clean towels. When we asked for more toilet paper at 10pm, we were given 4 open rolls, 2 of which had been used. They were not wrapped new. We had 4 people and were provided 2 clean towels each morning (not enough for 4 people). Showers and bathroom floors had strands of hair everywhere and trash was not emptied. We will likely try to find another location with a suite in the future. Aside from those issues, staff was very friendly check in/check out was simple.
I enjoyed our recent stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton. The front desk clerk was friendly professional and very accommodating which made check-in smooth.I was dissatisfied with the cleanliness of our room.It wasnt filthy but I noticed the countertopsa table and mirrors were not properly cleaned also they need to find another space for the microwave. It takes up most of the space on the already small kitchen table. The breakfast was good and I will stay again.
I stayed at this property during the week of Valentines Day. The property is in desperate need of renovation. Although the room was spacious, the furnishings were worn and in need of replacement. The office desk chair was dirty and contained holes. I needed to place a towel in the seat in order to feel as though I was sitting on a clean surface. I was disappointed that the shower door would not close completely. I utilized the mobile app to check into my room. Even though I was assigned to a room on the third floor, upon checking with the front desk staff, I was told that the room was unavailable and later assigned to a room on the ground level. After leaving a review with Hilton properties, the hotel manager called me to apologize for my experience at their property. I was promised 30,000 Hilton Honors points for my inconvenience. After two months, I have neither received the points, or a return phone call regarding this matter. For these reasons. I do not recommend staying at this property.
Even under construction this place was great. The service was always top notch and I didnt hear anything during my stay. I love the apps and drinks at night and the breakfast was well free. They could beef up their breakfast options a bit but nothing to truly complain about. My suite was stocked and clean. I cant wait to see what it looks like after a remodel. I would come back.
Jaila was very helpful I had to place my grandparents in a hotel for a few days to getaway! My grandfather is blind and a 32 years veteran, anything I needed to get them situated Jaila was there to assist me. Thank you for your great customer service and your hospitality.
Went to get into bed after a long travel day. I noticed black hair in the bed, brown specks (no clue what they are) and a smelly yellow pee stain in the bed. It is obvious that the sheets were not changed from the last people. Please see attached photos! This is absolutely unacceptable including the time that it took for them to rectify it (40+ minutes for clean sheets).**** Photos attached ****
Homewood suites is actually an amazing hotel. The pool area is amazing. They have a beautiful area of fire pits where you can hang out and relax. The rooms are very nice as well, great amenities and a very warm and helpful staff. The only complaint I have is the breakfast doesnt have a very large selection.
Ive stayed at this location several times as this particular hotel is used when I travel with my job. I usually have a really good experience here, but this particular visit was a little disappointing. My check in experience was a bit unpleasant and unwelcoming. A change in policy made my checkin experience a bit stressful. I had just stayed at this hotel a couple weeks prior when this policy was not enforced. The front desk clerk also failed to recognize me as a Hilton Honors member which other clerks in the past have recognized. Despite my rough check in experience the next day an awesome clerk assisted me with excellent customer service the next morning. Thats the type of service I am accustomed to when visiting this location.
Most friendly staff who make you feel so cared about. Easy to just fall in love with. Only problem is there needs to be some work on the cable system. This is my second stay and had problems both times but never reported to staff. Didnt because TV is not that important to me. Will stay at this hotel everytimeI am so n Columbus area.
We stayed in room 119- twice we reported a leaky faucet in the tub. So far, its still leaking....drip drip drip drip. Well be there until Sunday. Hope they find the time to make us happy! Well- Sunday is check out day. The leak was never repaired ...we just closed the bathroom door to quiet the water gurgling down into the drain. There will not be a return there.
We loved everything about Homewood Suites in Columbus GA. Every member of the staff was so friendly, courteous and helpful in every way. Actually this was the best staff I have ever encountered in all my hotel stays. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location is close to Ft. Benning and downtown Columbus. We had a great stay! I highly recommend this hotel.
This Place was just absolutely awesome. I had reserved a smoking bedroom but they gave me a non-smoking my accident, but upon my request they brought me an ashtray anyway. Just to make sure we were on the same page I went to the front desk and asked if I should move to a smoking room and they said they had no idea I got an ashtray but they opened a (larger) smoking room for me and helped me move all my things to my new room. Theyve been very helpful with the questions that I have had regarding their grocery pick up service of which they offer that every day. They also have a dinner every night all kinds of different items from different ethnic cities. I wish I had seen more hotels like this in my area
Best experience ever at any hotel Ive stayed. Hotel is very clean and the entire staff is better than any 5 star resort hotel. Very impressed with management, they treat not only the customers but the staff with respect. The power went out and Kim ran up 4 flights of stairs to rescue me because I had surgery and was in wheelchair. Again, everyone at the hotel goes above and beyond. Also, while being here in a wheelchair, Ms Dot, Ms Terry, Ms Carole, and Ms Geraldine, always made sure I had something to eat and drink. Thank all of you so very much! Toni White
The room was nice however at one point our tv stopped working. When I called the front desk the young lady said maintenance had left for the day and it would be 30 min before she could come up as she was checking someone in. I said of course no worries. She never came, never called. After about an hour or so my husband was able to figure out the issue.
I wont be back. They overcharged me for a room. Even after I showed them my confirmation email with the correct price, they insisted I was wrong. No respect for the customer, and Im a Hilton Honors Gold level. What should really make you stay away is that every room has one or more broken items. In the first room I stayed in, the bedroom ceiling light didnt work. In the second room the chair was missing, the bathroom light was very dim, and the bathroom floor was sticky. The third room I stayed in had a loud refrigerator and the heater in the bedroom didnt work. My friends room had a toilet that wouldnt flush. Thats four rooms, (the only four I have any knowledge of) all with pretty irritating problems. I regret staying here, its not worth the free dinner, which is mediocre at best.
The suites are nice but nothing amazing, considering they have old 32 flat screen TVs and furniture not in impecable conditions. However, their room service needs to be a lot better. Upon entering the room the refrigerator had two boxes of pizza and a few bottles of water inside. Additionally, they did not go by the room in two occasions to clean and in one of those the garbage and kitchen attracted ants. Everything else in the hotel was nice.
Hotel was great. The staff was very helpful, extra towels for our extra guests, and giving some books to the kids. The maintenance guy that is supposed to unlock the pool was late both days. Lots of restaurants nearby, both walking distance and by car. Fort Benning is about 20 minutes away.
The rooms are beautiful and clean. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. But this is a very noisy hotel. I traveled 6 hours here (including through Atlanta rush hour, yay) with my one year old to visit our great Grandma. We usually stay at the Courtyard Martiott but since they were fully booked we stayed here instead for the first time. The reviews were good and the website indicated it was a decent, quiet, kid friendly hotel. The kitchen in suite was a perk for traveling with a picker eater toddler. We e-checked in to get a room out of the way. When we arrived, our room wasnt cleaned yet (even though we arrived hour late). We were moved to one on the second floor that over looked the terrace/pool. We didnt mind the road noise since were from the city. We didnt really even mind the walk in shower door not being able to shut (walk in shower and not a tub/shower combo was unusual). But the first night there was a party on the terrace under our window. Since its directly under our room, we could hear every word and every crude joke. The running up and down the halls and people yelling from the upper floor windows down to the terrace made it impossible to sleep through. The second night there was a party in the convention center with the bass so loud it vibrated our floor and rattled out picture frames. I routinely sleep with earplugs and we use a white noise machine for our one year old when we travel, these still didnt help us sleep through it. When the staff was approached, they were polite, eager to please, and accommodating but it wasnt a pleasant stay.
This is about what I have come to expect from Hilton.. the rooms are just okay. The staff is friendly enough. On my first stay the sheets were wrinkled and their was hair in the bed so I am trying to imagine that it was just an accident and the sheets were actually fresh.. a week later I had a bathroom with a clogged drain and wall paper peeling. Do yourself a favor and pick somewhere else if you can.
Very convenient to shopping, medical facilities, theaters, restaurants, pubs, churches, and salons. You can be in downtown Columbus in 10 minutes. There is direct interstate route to the Fort Benning military base 10 to 15 mins. The rooms are clean, staff are friendly and very helpful. The continental breakfast is always yummy and hits the spot! They provide a buffet of different items each day (FREE). From the front desk assistant to the custodial staff they work hard to make the guests feel at home and our extended stay here has certainly felt like our second home. Thank you to everyone who assisted my family and me during this stay. We appreciate you very much.
The sweet bar was out of stock. Many things are always running low here during our stay, they even ran out of bath tissue! The place is clean and staff is nice but something clearly is going wrong here within the MANAGEMENT! We will stay at another hotel during our next visit to Columbus, Georgia.
There are better options in same area. Hotel seems to be under renovation on first floor so you can feel that smell. For such a big hotel just 1 small gym which is smaller than any guest room. If there is someone in gym you will feel to come later on as it will feel crowded. Just 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, and 1 weight machine and treadmill controls dont work so it just runs at 1 mile/hour speed !!Not to mention wires popping out all over.Service is pathetically poor. We booked a 1 BR suite and everything which was supposed to be there, we had to call and ask like dish cleaning stuff, laundry bags. Rooms have smaller and older TVs, no smart TVs. Unreliable internet makes it worse.
2009-2011 I commuted here to work several months a year, I always stayed at the homewood because it is the best hotel in town if your stay is longer than a few days. full fridges, mini kitchen, great location. I moved here in 2011 but I still recommend my friends to stay here.
Horrible customer service! Because of our late arrival our room was given away leaving us at an econolodge at 3 am as every other hotel was booked. I had called earlier in the day to make them aware of our late arrival however they still saw $$$ in giving our room away as we were friends and family guest at a discounted rate. My elderly disabled mother and my family were not accomadated for the following night either even though the reservation was made 3 months prior. However the following night we were accomadated by an excellent Holiday Inn and Suites.Share review Write an update Edit review Delete review
Would not recommend to anyone! The 1st room we stayed in we found 2 roaches. The 2nd room we stayed in the A.C. broke. The 3rd room we stayed in was the best one. The cleaning staff was nice and friendly. Rebecca at the front desk was not helpful but the manager Cynthia was helpful and understanding. The breakfast bar was really good.
We were visiting over Memorial Day weekend for Family weekend with my brother in law who’s is currently in basic at Ft. Benning. The staff was friendly and welcoming! We loved our stay so much that we booked before we left for our next visit in June for his graduation.
Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. They decide to run these horrific smoke alarm test twice this week, both times Im sleeping, and both times without warning. Now my ears are ringing, and I cant get that to stop. Its pretty sad, because most of the staff here is great. The people in house keeping are amazing. Just not ran very well, especially when they go and do drills like that and dont give anybody a heads up...
This is a very nice, clean hotel. It is very near shopping, resturants and other establishments but also far enough away to not be bothered. The rooms are clean very spacious and comfortable. The employees were very friendly and kind. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone Also try out the Mexican restaurant directoy across the street. It was awesome.
We was here for my sons graduation from bootcamp at Fort Benning. I picked Homewood because they had full kitchens in their rooms and my son wanted his favourite dinner before he was sent to his next place. Let me tell you this place was amazing from the start!!! The staff was extremely helpful, friendly/nice & polite making sure we felt at home as soon as we got there until we left!! Our room was bigger than I could have hoped gor, very clean stocked with everything we needed and if it wasnt in the room the front desk was fast to help get it to us!!!Thank you for making it possible for me to get my son his wish to have his momas cooking ❤ Army Mom Red Pippin
Old dirty furniture, AC did not work, refrigerator made more noise than the AC. VERY disappointed!! Will not stay here when I return in October. This place is in need of MAJOR renovations. Old carpet, old furniture, plywood on top of box spring to hold up saggy mattress. You can do better . . .
A am an avid fan of Homewood Suites.... Usually for business. However, this time I was in Columbus Georgia for a holiday. The staff were excellent, room service also excellent. We are planning on staying there again soon....Nightly meals Mon - Thurs, and manager reception Mon - Thurs.... More than anything, though, is the staff.... just wonderful!
If you have to stay for several nights in Columbus the Homewood Suites is a great place to choose. Each week night there is a free dinner and breakfast the next morning. The food is always good. The rooms are comfortable and the suite style gives you a separate living and sleeping area.
Nice room with a cooktop and fridge. The problem starts with tv in the bedroom not working. When someone showed up to look at it they said they were leaving and going to replace the tv, 14 hours later tv still does not work and no notes in the system that they looked at it or what is going on. I find this unacceptable for a Hilton property.
So ... I plan a weekend there and look st Hilton online and my rate is $99 per night (Hilton Honors rate) but 9/1 seems booked and I want to double check so I wait 7 hours until morning and call the hotel and ...wa la ... they jacked the rate up to $165 and guess what ??... 9/1 is magically available at that rate!!! So as a Hilton Honors member I call the customer service line and get Central America. Knowing as an American citizen, I can demand to be transferred to the US I did ... and was promptly hung up on ... another call and another Central American rep, another request to be transferred to the US, and now I get a Central American supervisor and after yet another request to be transferred i get Robert whom says ... sorry nothing we can do for you, basically you should have booked last night!! Well Robert ... I will not be staying in Columbus now and you can kindly cancel my Hilton honors as honestly you honor nothing ... as for my review of the hotel?? Cant say ...lol ...

2022-03-06First off, our door was standing open when we got to the room, which I thought was odd. When we got into the room, there were holes in the carpet, in the middle of the room, not in a discreetly hidden area against the wall... Moving on into the room, I spotted a roach on the curtain. The bed, black hair on the top cover which made me wonder what I was actually sleeping on/in. And I paid $170 for this?? The only positives I have about this place is the clerk that was there when we checked in, she was awesome and very friendly! Katina maybe? Very nice breakfast bar and the hotel was easy to find.

2021-12-27Room had much wear & tear. Scratches and damage to furniture in bedroom and family area. There were marks on the walls, had picture hangers on one bedroom wall and no picture, and black streaks on kitchen counter. Bathroom sink plug did not work. Light for microwave didnt work and marks were on cooking top. Room needs renovation.

2022-01-30A lot of things in the rooms are not working! The elevator was down, and the side doors were out of order. We had hair all in the bed and the sheets were not clean at all!

2021-10-06The staff was absolutely sweet, front desk clerk went above and beyond to satisfy us, very guest friendly. The room was very clean plenty of extras if we needed them. The only issue is waiting for the deposit to be credited back after the stay but thats it❤️ very much satisfying

2021-08-02The rooms were basically clean and the overall hotel was nice. However, my credit card was charged 12 times and management did not take the time to resolve the issue after I told her that I was leaving to return home (which was out of town). She told me to wait and see instead of doing her due diligence to resolve the issue. No one explained the additional fees that would be charged once you are on the property. I booked 3 rooms that were placed throughout the hotel. Lots of confusion that could be cleared by messaging and allowing customers to know what they should expect and also training staff to resolve issues.
