We went tonight for my wife’s birthday and had the absolute eat service ever. We sat in the bar area with the bartender Ellie who went way above and beyond what was expected and we stayed there until closing just because of her. I know they were short handed but the attitude and service was way beyond expectation so we were beyond impressed. Will defer back.
We ate dinner here tonight…. Worst service ever!!! We got there around 7 PM and just leaving! Appetizer came out after ordering it an hour before…. Ordered food and it took over an hour and a half! Server barely came to our table. They finally gave us the check and I told the server (who had already told us that they messed up the order and was going to comp the meal) I had to mention that to him and he said he said the manager was in the back and would go talk to her. She comped 35% of each entree and didn’t charge us for the drinks but the manager (who never came out to see if the restaurant was running well) never came out to apologize for any of it like a good manager should do!Food was ok, but was told they were out of things when the food came out. Our drinks were empty the majority of the time we were there. They were not that busy and customers that came in after us ordered, got their food and left before us. We were not the only ones that this server had. We were the last ones in the dining room to leave and there were at least 4 servers. That next to last table that left looked at us and said and I quote “Good luck!!”
What a wonderful place. Falon my waitress and owner ryan worked worked with me to truly make wifes birthday memorable. We were just visiting this city and they were able to accommodate with a private space to have live music. Cooks also showed out with well seasoned food. The shrimp and grits were amazing (we from Louisiana, trust me it was good) and great filet. Great atmosphere and staff.
Horrible... walked in and waited 15 minutes to be seated... was it busy?... no. There were 6 tables with customers... and from what I counted 5 or 6 waitstaff. Now this is not a small place... probably 15 tables were empty... finally seated.. drink order taken.. food order taken... 2 Guinness please... 15 minutes later the server brings two unopened cans... if you know Guinness in a can. You know there needs to be glasses to pur the stout in... told the server we needed glasses and he was shocked... explained why.. and he said he had no idea about that... got our glasses. Poured our beer... got our orders taken... now we have been here almost45 minutes at this point. Another 30 minutes before the food was served... we ordered grilled chicken with veggies and parmesean crusted grouper with veggies and wild rice. Dry chicken. Our veggies were barely cooked... warm. But almost raw... the wild rice tasted like a rice a roni mix... there were canned artichokes on my grouper. This whole meal looked and tasted like it was reheated and pre-made. Our server never really checked on us and I had to have someone find him to get our check... we were in the place for almost 2 hours with poor service and low quality food. Not sure how they are staying open... they had plenty of staff.. no customers... wont go back... reccomend no one does.
Older clientele and the location tucked away right off the road. Has a classic Georgia feel with a very robust menu. Heck of a happy hour menu. Not too packed for. Friday night.Service was questionable as the waitress took out order on a piece of printer paper. Bathrooms were very clean. A few local draft on tap as well. Would recommend a visit if your in the area .
We Really enjoyed our lunch and our waitress Debbie was wonderful! We hadnt been out to eat together in over a year thanks to this lovely virus. When asked our waitress gladly took our picture and I decided to post it with this review. Thanks again for a pleasant experience!
Although dinners were tasty, they did NOT overcome the many rude behaviors we encountered.1. Our 6:30pm reservation for 4 was a 25 minute wait at 6;20 when we arrived.2. COVID protocol should have patrons wait in their car until called, not packed together WITHOUT MASKS in the very, very small entryway, between dining rooms.3. Full capasity seating4. Ordered at 7:00p, meals arrived at 7:55p with NO Silverware or any attention from our server.5. Hot Entree plates passed overhead across the table to each of us, then we waited for silverware.Disappointed with our first experience.
We have done the drive up curbside take out now twice in the last couple of weeks. The first was good. Not fast but the food was well prepared. The second experience was last night and it was pretty bad. Burgers burned to where they are pretty much charcoal, fried shrimp were over fried. It was a large order and quite honestly very disappointing. Now in fairness, we have eaten here server times where the experience was decent. I didn’t give them a lower score simply because my over all experience has been ok. This last time was not.Worth trying out IMHO but I hope they tighten up on quality during this super difficult time.
We have been traveling over the new year holiday and stopped in for dinner. Heather was a wonderful server, telling us how entrées were prepared and was very attentive. The fried green tomatoes and Tuscan chicken were our fave! Will definitely come back next time we are in town!
Was good for years, and may have been short-staffed last night, but that doesnt explain everything. Service was just bad. Dining room was not that busy. Confused, hapless hostess, server was mostly MIA, forgetful. 2.5 hours once seated. Food was good, but not great. Small portions but this may be a sign of the times.
Weve eaten at this restaurant a couple times and had their food delivered many times. Weve been very pleased most of the time. However, we tried their brunch menu on Sunday, and we were anything but pleased. When we arrived, very few other customers were present, and it still took over an hour to receive our food. For some reason they wouldnt give us the ice we kept requesting. Id ask for full glasses of ice, and wed receive a half glass as if ice was on ration (other tables received full glasses with their drinks while we were without any ice in ours). The Belgian waffle looked like a pale, limp, smaller, flatter, less tasty version of a Waffle House waffle. I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich, and the croissant was extremely dry and hard. The potatoes tasted like they had been under a warmer for hours. We had to keep asking for everything we wanted several times. Needless to say it was a disappointing dining experience. Im not sure well ever eat brunch there again. Im very sure well never get my sister back there since she ordered the waffle.
So, this low review is not solely based in the taste or quality of the food. The to-go service is abysmal!!! I wanted this for my birthday at the end of October and we were missing food and when called out on it, they were rude (and not busy in the restaurant). My husband went to pick up his food that they left out and they continued to be rude to him. The food was not as good as it usually is. Now to tonight, my mother-in-law ordered our food at 6:20. It took an hour and a half for them to make our food. Oh, and they left out some of the order and tried to reassure us it was all there. It wasnt! There were people canceling orders due to the much too lengthy wait times. Again, there was not much business inside the restaurant. We gave them the second chance and it will be a long time before we recommend this place to anyone or eat here!
I don’t understand how this place has so many stars. We’ve been here a few times because we always try to give places the benefit of the doubt but everytime we have an awful experience. The wait to even just get drinks has averaged 20 mins. The server doesn’t even apologize when she finally makes her way over. When you finally get to order food the wait to actually get it has averaged about an hour on a night they aren’t even full. It was to the point we said “5 more minutes and we leave.” Tonight my husband talked me into giving this place another try and we waited for our table 40 minuets, which on a Friday isn’t too bad. Then sat at the table from 7:40-8:20 without even being greeted, told one moment or asked about drinks. Mind you, we have kids that are going insane from sitting for now an hour bored. By the time she got our drinks the kids were starving. The manager was nice enough to bring out calamari which of course, young kids don’t eat. We have sat here since 7:40 and haven’t had drinks refreshed, not gotten our food. We have seen the server 3 times maybe? She hasn’t checked on us at all. The kids are restless, we’ve watched people come in and go. This place is insane. I can promise I will never be talked into going here again.
Wow! The fried oysters were top notch and cooked so perfectly. The combination meal of grouper fingers, sweet potato fries and a salad for $7.95 couldnt be beat. This place is so worth the stop. The chef came out a few times and talked to us, a true gentleman with exquisite talents. Thanks for an enjoyable meal, we cant wait to get back.
Trevor was our server tonight and was fantastic and super sweet. He was great about making sure we had what we needed and Im a fellow server so i hope the owner and manager see this and show him. Good servers deserve credit 😉 we always love eating there. Amazing food!
Surprisingly good food and great service! We anticipated the typical bar staples but found dining options we intended to return to the city for. From the Stuffed Mushroom, Fried Lobster, and Fried Grouper appetizers to the Ribeyes & New York Strips, drinks and desserts it was a truly enjoyable way to cap off a day at the winery.
Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed with the quality of our meal. The stuffed grouper, grilled, arrived looking and tasting like something akin to farm raised tilapia with a scant teaspoon of some sort of crab sauce on top. Not grilled. Definitely not stuffed. Impossible to stuff because it was so thin. Was just not good. The prime rib special tasted microwaved, as did the two veggies we tried, which were inedible. The calamari was overcooked and rubbery, although the fry batter was good, but too thin for the very thick marinara dipping sauce. The staff was nice, but this place just wasnt for us.
•Food is ok•Staff is slow•Youll wait forever to get a table, even in non-peak times. And then another forever wait to order & receive your food.•Overpriced•Staff is rude to delivery drivers. They wont assist them with their pickups & then are rude when they ask about the order they are waiting on.•No drink carriers for To-Go orders.•Overall, its one of my least favorite sit down restaurants in Braselton.*Note: these were all issues prior to the Pandemic, and its definitely no better since.
The houndstooth is a local favorite. They portrayed themselves as a grill which is a very good description since they have a little of everything. The menu is intimidating with respect to number of selections. They had run out of the daily special by 7:30 which seems a little bit early. Regardless the steak eaters in the group ordered different steaks and were pleased. The steak preparation is top-notch for a non prestigious eatery. The salad eaters in the group were a little disappointed with the amount of dressing that seem to be ladled on their salads. We ordered three of the appetizers all good.Service is definitely on the slow side it took approximately 45 minutes for our food to arrive. There were several large groups at the same time which probably contributed to the slow service. If youre looking for good food in a non-assuming setting consider the hounds tooth. Well go back next time were in Braselton, just no expectations of fine dining. But expectations of good food and an abundant set of choices.
Tonight was our first time visiting Houndstooth and we were very impressed! We had the kindest and most attentive server,Jeff. He couldnt have been a better server to us! The manager came out and was speaking with us, as well, and he was very kind and informative. The food is not what you will find on any other menu and is delicious! We are excited to be coming back soon to try some more new dishes and will be looking forward to more awesome service!
DO NOT EAT HERE. THEY TURNED OFF FACEBOOK REVIEWS FOR A REASON.First Ill go into the food. My partner ordered a grilled chicken breast. It was tiny and thin and NEON PINK. It was only seasoned on one side. I ordered a shrimp po-boy that came out very cold. I couldnt even eat my salad because the dressing was rancid. Our server stated that the health dept had been there the day before and MADE THEM THROW AWAY FOOD (if you work in the business you KNOW what a big deal that is). He said the inspector made them toss all their salad dressing and so what I was eating was brand new. Theres no way that was true. I looked up their health dept score and they were knocked for not keeping food to temp and unsafe, unsanitary equipment. They still lucked out with 88 but really from the appearance and service it should have been 38.Now for the service... We only went there because they allegedly are dog friendly. I called to make sure and the surly female manager that answered the phone took a long pause before huffing yeah its okay you can do it. Like I was inconveniencing her by trying to spend money at the business she manages. I found this place by searching dog friendly restaurants. There are places on lake Lanier that are friendly to my lab and bring her treats. I could have driven 10 minutes more and not dealt with this. The surly manager sat us and when I asked what was on draft she didnt really know and guessed wrong. When I asked for a beer, instead of just saying okay she said ah... well I can tell your server. So anyway our server took close to 30 minutes to even take our food order. My partner ordered sweet tea, three times, and didnt get it until the 4th time asking, and only after our terrible food had arrived. The beer menu is garbage. Bud Light, Yuengling, Shock Top and 420. The 420 keg blew, so I was stuck with bottled (same offerings plus Stella and Paulaner). I asked twice for napkins that never arrived. He was shaking the whole time like he was suffering from the dts.We spoke to the same surly female manager when we left to explain the issues (we wanted to love this place being that they allow dogs and they are close) and she had the same terrible attitude and did not care in the slightest.Oh and they tried to charge us for calamari we ordered and never received. Their patio is a joke. Covered with dried beer and flies. Missing a television. You cant smoke. I can overlook bad food, for good service. This place has nothing redeeming about it. Im personally going to make sure that the health dept keeps a close eye on them. Its very obvious the owners and management couldnt care less about their establishment.
The food was okay. I’ve had better, but I’ve also had worse. The service is why I’m giving 5 stars. Had the service been lacking, it would’ve probably just been 2 or 3 stars. The waitress we had, (Kaitlyn), was just as sweet as could be! I could tell she had a genuine love for people. She was very attentive, and that was very refreshing. We’ve been here several times recently and she’s been our best server by far!
The food was good, but a little under cooked. It seemed like the cook was rushing the steaks off of the grill. The service was very slow. Waited 40 minutes to get our food, and 20 minutes to get our check. With so many restaurants in the area I would most likely look for somewhere else to eat.
The atmosphere was very relaxed. We enjoyed the music that was playing. (70s & 80s rock) Our server was knowledgeable and able to recommend several entrées to us. He kept our glasses full and checked on us often. The food was very good. I had grilled salmon and grilled shrimp. Both were perfectly cooked as were the broccoli and the baked potato. We will be back to try more items on the extensive menu and definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I had the Fried Green Tomato Stack and Black & Bleu Burger. The burger was okay, a tad salty and with an unusual texture. The top inside of the bun was toasted to the point of crispy with the bottom bun left soft and full of juices from the burger; this is what caused the texture issue for me. The fried tomatoes were pretty good with an interesting addition of the cream cheese layer between the slices. Over all it was just regular food, nothing terribly special. The service was pretty good and the atmosphere was average restaurant atmosphere.
We waited a while to be seated even though it wasnt busy. The food was mediocre. My husband and I both got the eggs Benedict for brunch but we agree that we like the taste of how we make them at home better. The grits and homestyle potatoes were both super weak. Nothing was disgusting but just everything was mediocre.
With a large party and had reversations. Most order the steak including me all were medium and all had baked potato and asparagus. The steaks were 8 oz delmoncias.Everyones steak varied in thickness and in how done it was cooked. 1/2 1/4 and mine was an 1/8 looked like a minute steak for breakfast and was definitely not 8 oz maybe 4 oz and dead it was so overcooked it had crunchy edges and no sign of life left 0 pink. Just black over cooked meat. Everyone had a comment or two. The ones that had 1/2 thick steaks looked like an 8oz steak and was about as big as a larger boneless chicken breast. And they had pink throughout. Mine was so tuff I couldnt eat it the asparagus on everyones plate was grilled ( charded) black no one ate.theirs . Then we noticed they forgot 1 persons steak, her.husband got his. It took another 15.minutes to cook another one she got it to go.The waitress had the entire party by herself 25 people. She was amazing and did amazing considering we were an older club from church average age was about 78. We all tipped her well and gave an applause at the end. But unfortunately I will.not be back just unacceptable food quality. However the fried mushrooms with cream cheese was excellent! The calamari looked good also. When you have a party the steaks should all be about the same size and thickness within reason but 1/2 steak to an 1/8 steak no excuse.
We visit today for mothers day dinner for myself and our family, my husband order steak medium rare came out tough and overcook, the vegetables medley ordered grill came out steam vegetables medley overcook, the horseradish is not given during the meal came out we have waited 10 minutes to get them, the server was kind of slow and disorganized my son meal is not as what he expected the salad is wilted and mixed up with grapes very unusual for a salad, my gluten free grilled salmon is fine but the vegetables medley is overcook, we ate here before it was good, but tonight experience and service is very disappointed. We speak to manager she apologized but not really helpful. The to go food that we ordered for our other son is not good whatsoever. We will never come back to this restaurant.
On my 45 minute drive there I tried calling numerous times to call in my order so I could pick it up when I got there- no answer. Got there to find a hostess with a mouth so full of bubblegum or something (she keptcovering it so it didnt fall out) and could barely speak trying to tell me there was over an hour wait and even for takeout because they had 3 large parties- i had wanted to try the Houndstooth because my go-to is Pats Eatery but Pat’s it is! Especially when I called back to speak with a manager or owner and a very rude hostess (probably with a mouthful of whatever) told me the owner is busy because he owns 3 restaurants and isnt around much doesnt care if he loses customers- and guess what- I own 3 restaurants also and would not allow my staff to treat a customer like that- oh yes i know all about short staffing and horrible employees but this is beyond horrible.
The atmosphere was neat, clean, and comfortable. They didnt rush anyone; we stayed for 3 hours visiting with family. 😊 The server, manager and hostess were very friendly. Our service was slow for drinks, and she disappeared a few times. The food was good! We had a party of 6. We had steaks AYCE shrimp, pastas, and burgers. The pastas did have a lot cream sauce which made it soupy, but drained it off and de-licious! The steaks and shrimp were cooked perfectly. We will go back.
Will not be going back.. Our server came to our table only 2 times.. We waited forever for our appetizer came out at the same time as our food which obviously had all been ready for a very long time.. which wouldve taken even longer until another server asked us if we were waiting for something my husband replied yes our food.. she went and got it for us..(we tipped her instead of our server) and we never got any refills and when it came to us asking our server for the bill it took 20 mins to get our bill so we could pay and leave! Wouldve given less stars but i cant .
Excellent food and service at the Houndstooth Grill & Bar in Braselton, GA. We requested a catering order for pick up, I was served immediately upon arrival, and the staff member even helped carry the food to my car. We received many compliments on the quality of food at our event. Our gathering was mid-afternoon, and the menu included stuffed mushrooms, smoked salmon baguettes, cheese toast, grilled shrimp, and chicken salad croissants. Thanks again for the ease and wonderful customer service. We will definitely come back again.
First let me say their food is great, but do not order through grub hub. I ordered a rack of ribs along with multiple dinner entrees, instead of calling to say we are out of ribs they just marked it off the receipt and said refund. Didn’t even tell my wife when she was picking it up she had to find out checking in the car then let the other entrees get cold while she ordered another entree. Please learn to contact the customer in the case and if it’s through grub hub let them know. Don’t use some excuse like cell numbers are phones a lot of time through grub hub. Not a happy dad on Father’s Day weekend!
Pretty disappointed today. Had reservations made for a family bday of fifteen people. The food is good, but took forever. They were out of about twelve menu items. Including potatoes, crab, Delmonico steak, kids burgers, smoked salmon, ground beef, two soups, the list goes on. The management allowing this to be the situation puts the staff in a terrible position. If people aren’t happy with the general experience, the servers get screwed out of their pay, through no fault of their own. Our server was extremely professional despite the situation. Management needs to get control of this before the good help walks away.
Good experience and service here. I had the wings which were great and the rest of the table enjoyed their meals as well. Pretty fair pricing and selection although two appetizers we chose were not available which we found out after ordering. Our server did a great job though and we all had a good time.
This place has excellent wings! The grouper sandwich is good, but a little smaller than expected. The classic burger was not that good. The patty is thin and flavored with some marinade that was kind of basic. It didnt help that it was a little undercooked. Table service was good. Bathrooms had some calcium or lime build up on the faucets, but otherwise clean.
We went last night around 5:30. It wasnt super busy at all and tables werent spaced for Covid19 distancing. We were waiting for another couple who joined us here about a month ago and we had a pleasant experience then except they had run out of the special then. Tonight they had it!! They arrived at 6pm. The waitress brought our drinks while we waited. It started getting busier. Our friends waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to come get their drink order and we put in our drink and appetizers order.. Our friends had to get the manager when the drinks and appetizers hadnt come after 25 min. He apologized and stated they were short-staffed and our waitress was new. Well, other tables around us that came in after us were getting their drinks and food and leaving while we were still waiting to get our meal. This waitress was serving a couple of these same tables.. Finally we got the manager back who apologized and comped us a round of drinks and the appetizers and assured us our food order was in.. 7:30 our food arrived incorrectly and luke warm. We only ordered the special with regular sides, no special requests. The correct sides never came. When the bill finally came, the comps didnt appear there and the waitress had to wait for the mgr to fix them.. Now almost 2 1/2hrs later we could finally leave.. we were very pleasant in light of what was happening and while seeing other tables that came after us getting served...we dont understand what happened. It will be long time til we try there again.. very disappointed.
Visited on Sunday evening. There was maybe 4 other families in there at the time. We were seated with no silverware. Ordered beverages and chicken egg rolls, and our waitress came back to let us know they were out of egg rolls. We finally got our drinks and we were ready to order. My brother asked for suggestions. The Buffalo pasta was suggested, so thats what he ordered. I then ordered a grilled chicken sandwhich. Our friend ordered fried mushrooms. Waitress said she thought those were out too, but shed check (they did end up having them) He then ordered his meal with an extra side. My husband ordered a ribeye. Waitress said they were out of that as well because their food order comes in on Mondays. He ordered a new York strip. We ordered mac n cheese for our daughter. The Waitress looked at me and asked what I wanted to ordered and I had to remind her that I already told her what I wanted, and I repeated my order.. Took forever for the apps and salads to come out. While waiting, we had a really hard time getting refills. We had to ask for a coke refill 4 times, and I eventually went to the bar for it. When the apps came, we had to ask for silverware. Food came out shortly after. My grilled sandwhich was fried (but tasted fine). My brothers pasta was basically floating in water and not sauce. Our friend did not get his extra side. We had to ask for it. My husband said the steak was good, and my daughter enjoyed the mac.
Has been my favorite restaurant since we moved to Braselton. So I planned a surprise 60th birthday party for my husband at Houndstooth Bar & Grill. They were so very nice and helpful with the plans. They gave us the stage area so that we had a semi-private space where the kids could walk around and we could do gifts, etc. Let us decorate. Everyone ordered from the menu and the food was excellent as always! There were two people who had never been to Houndstooth and they loved it! The food is always delicious and we have never been disappointed. We had two awesome servers, Sara and Lindsay who were so attentive to our group. With the separate area we were able to take our time. Thank you Houndstooth Bar & Grill staff for all you did!! It is one of the best restaurants around so if you have never been there I high recommend it!
My first restaurant review EVER! I was super excited to try this restaurant for the first time. I came inside and sat on the outside patio. I ordered a Long Island and it took approximately 37 minutes to come to my table. We also ordered food at the same time we ordered the Long Island. After about a hour & fifteen minutes all the tables surrounding us had their food plus drinks in a timely manner. (I also noticed a couple that arrived, after we’ve been sitting for a hour, receive their drinks & appetizer rather fast). So now it’s been about a hour and 20 minutes & my server comes to the table with NO FOOD, STILL. At this point, my appetite is gone and I’m ready to go because this restaurant is already a hour from my home & I have to be at work. So once we made the decision to eat elsewhere, the server comes over & says “I apologize we had a cook walk out & a server didn’t show.” (BUT everyone around us is still getting whatever they ordered right away). I’m such an understanding person that if she said all of this info when it happened it could’ve been a different outcome. So now I’m still hungry driving a hour home. Smh.
Food and atmosphere were great. 4 stars because although the place was not busy for Saturday night, our waiter, Trevor, hurried everything with us like we were inconveniencing him. Most bizarre dining experience I’ve ever had. Tea with no ice, didn’t ask if we cared for dessert, just left bill. More small things as well. Never returned with to go box. I’ll be back, but will request a different waiter until he receives some training.
This was my first time at this restaurant, the food was just, ok. The chicken in the pasta dish I had was over cooked. The appetizer and main course took quite a while to get to the table unfortunately. The waitress had a really, “I don’t care attitude” and the table cloths were visibly dirty.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and bar food that is a step above the rest. I had the fried green tomato BLT on texas toast and it was delicious. My father had the fried grouper and that was good as well, pretty tasty and not over cooked. Definitely recommend trying this place, I was glad we did!
We made a reservation for New Years Eve dinner not ever having been to this establishment before and having seen their menu for 2 were very excited to try it out. What a MISTAKE! We arrived promptly at our reservation time only to be seated next to the front door on a very cold evening. It took our waitress 5 minutes before she acknowledged us. We were planning to have the 4 course meal consisting of an appetizer, salad, main course and dessert. Also included were 2 house drinks from the bar. When our waitress did arrive I ordered a seltzer w/lime and my husband a water until we knew what we were going to have. It took her another 10 minutes before our beverages would arrive and she brought me a 7 Up soda. I can not handle sugar..ugh. We ordered our food, appetizer, salad, main course and salad. After waiting 20 minutes, and a restaurant that is now flooded with people coming and going, I summoned the manager to tell him we hadnt received one spec of food and that our waitress had brought food out to other patrons who had arrived AFTER us. He didnt apologize for us having to wait so long. He simply stated hed see what he could do to correct the situation. Another 10 minutes or so goes by before our waitress enters our area and I flagged her down to ask what was taking so long to get our appetizer and salad. I realize they are busy but this wait was uncalled for. It had been 45 minutes since we had arrived and at least 30 or so minutes since we had placed our order. The entire time she was frazzled and absent minded only caring for how she felt and not how her guests were being treated. I have never in my life received such horrible service and condensation of attitude. I told her We are done here and well NEVER return. First impressions are lasting impressions. I would NEVER recommend this place to one solitary soul. For those who are treated well perhaps its because they only had 5 patrons. Go on a busy night..they out right suck!
The atmosphere was underwhelming, and guests apparently were not required to wear masks. The hostess was a little slow and curt. Our waitress, on the other hand was sweet, friendly and efficient. The food was amazingly delicious. We got the lobster dip as appetizer, and I got stuffed flounder with wild rice and asparagus. Medium to small portions but no less than delectable.
Service is absolutely terrible. My family went together once a few months ago. Only one of us actually enjoyed the food. There were fewer than five tables and took more than an hour to even have our order taken. And went downhill from there, with servers refusing to speak with us if they were not “our” server when asking where the restroom is. Was with the family member who enjoyed their food yesterday, so we decided to give it a second go. Give the benefit of the doubt. We walked in for a late lunch and were the only people in the entire restaurant. No one greeted us. We looked around for a hostess or server, but nothing. We started browsing a menu while hoping to be seated. No one ever came and we left. Looking back, we appreciate the service being so atrocious upfront so we didn’t have to go through another of a train wreck dining scenario. Do not make the mistake of going once. Or give the benefit of the doubt and attempt a second visit.
Terrible ! We attended an estate planning seminar that provided dinner at the end of the presentation. We were impressed with the presenter but the overcooked sirloin and cold potatoes were awful ! This restaurant gave us no reason to ever return. We recommend Chik-fil-A across the street for a better dining experience.
No one at the front for 5 minutes to seat us. Waited another 10 minutes for waitress. Waitress had all of the large room by herself and had to bus her own tables. Took 45 minutes to get our meal and then chicken was tough! My husband never got the tea he ordered. The waitress actually a spot of blood on her mask at the nose area! This is the third time weve had a bad experience at Houndstooth!Wont be back!
This place is amazing. The last time my wife and I went there the waitress was great and on top of everything, we never had to ask for assistance. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice date night or family night. I went on November 28 on a Saturday night and the hostess was very accommodating and polite.
Pretty good food, good happy hour prices, service was fine. The hostess/greeter was super nice and really knew the menu well. I had the egg rolls, chicken tenders, and fried artichokes and the other in my party had the ribeye and green beans. His really enjoyed his steak and I liked my order but it was definitely a greasy fried pile of food. The tenders were good and crispy though, which was nice, and they give you lots of good sauces to pair the food with. If youre in the area, its not a bad option.
Its been better. Nobody at door for 5 minutes to greet and seat us. Then another 10 minutes to get our tea and another 5 until the waitress took our food order. It wasnt busy at all. Food is good. Prices fair but if the service doesnt improve we may stop going. Never been there for dinner. Just lunch and its usually crowded. Maybe were not alone noticing the lack of service.
It has been years since I tried this place and its probably going to be years before I try it again. Its ok just not great and not worth the price. Our waitress was good and attentive except for 2 members of our party not getting their food for at least 5 minutes longer than the other 9 people. There was no explanation for the tardiness and it was a salad and a kids meal. No logical good reason for this. The fried green tomatoes were delicious and probably some of the best Ive had. The macaroni and cheese bites were tasty as well. My entree as well as several others was lukewarm at best. One meal was a fried chicken sandwich that had overcooked dry chicken.
First and foremost I’ve enjoyed this restaurant, but to night they failed me. We called in two grilled salmon salads to go. It took an hour and 15 minutes. I went to the bar where a group of about four adults where so loud and obnoxious that people obviously had complained as the owner tried her best to calm them. They should’ve been asked to leave. I ended up ordering a drink as the headache I had from these people was terrible. Honestly I should’ve been compt something, when I said something to this worthless bartender she got all defensive that it wasn’t her mistake, she was slightly right, but she handled it poorly. I hope this place can learn from this as it’s a classy place & these rowdy customers could have been handled better. I won’t be back for a while. Good luck HT as you have a great place & location, but you missed the mark with me & the customer I sat next too. Very poor service from kitchen and especially the female bartender. Shameful.
Love this restaurant!! The atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. They have a bar which has an awesome happy hour, a backroom for private parties and a beautiful dining room with handpainted walls from a local artist. There is also a covered patio, which they allowed us to bring our dog to dine with us as well. :) The food is fresh and they make all their dressings in house and they are so delicious!! If youre ever in the area definitely give it a go, you wont be disappointed!!
We were out as a group, running errands in that area, and stumbled across this location. The food that we each had was good, the portions were well sized. However, my burger came out to the table a bit naked when I had ordered it with everything. A few other things were incorrect, but nothing big enough that anyone wished to complain. Our waiter was a clean cut guy whose personality seemed to be better suited to a hippie. He was good, but just a bit off.
I had the grilled salmon salad with the lemony dressing and it was delicious. The waiter was very curteous, knowledgeable and comical. We had a very enjoyable lunch. My friend had the rube and was going to leave half for later but it was so good she just couldnt! First time there and will defiantly be back again!!
We used Houndstooth to cater a birthday party for us and I am so glad we did! They did an amazing job with the set up and making everything look so pretty and organized. The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests were raving about it!They took the time to go over the menu to make sure we were happy with our selections and even offered suggestions to help ensure the party would be a hit; and it was!I would definitely recommend Houndstooth to anyone who needs catering for their next event!
The booth was full of crumbs on the benches. Took 10 minutes to get for a waiter to greet us. The drinks took another 10 or so to arrive. There was a ceiling tile half missing over our table and stuff that fell out of the ceiling on the mural. The mushroom app was good, the drink was very good, bloody mary, chicken salad sandwich needed more flavor and not be minced to a pulp. Went there two years ago with parents and I vaguely remember feeling nonplussed when done. I have only heard good about this place so maybe just not my day.
We usually come here for birthdays and large family get togethers. We went here for my grandfather and my sisters birthday today. I ordered the Houndstooth tenderloin, medium rare with mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. I only received 9 fries and my steak was way overcooked for medium rare. This steak was well done. My girlfriend ordered hers medium. It was more done than mine. Hers was tough and hard to chew. They ruined a fine cut of meat with too much heat. When we notified the waiter, we explained that we didnt want to wait for a new one, but the cook definitely needed to be aware of their poor cooking skills. When we got the bill, it was still $31 per steak. This is unacceptable. Next time, I will drive 2 minutes down the road to Jacks. Jacks is a much better steakhouse and can actually cook a steak to perfection.
So many appealing items on the menu, it was hard to choose just one to order. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced. Buffalo chicken quesadilla was great and the mac & cheese bites were yummy. Really enjoyed my Georgia Peach cocktail. We will be sure to visit again when in the area.
Went in at lunch, stood at the door for 5 minutes before being greeted, then taken to my table. I told the waitress I needed just a quick second to review the menu, however she gave me over 15 minutes before I seen her again. Finally upon ordering, it took me over 36 minutes for a quesadilla. The worst part is they forgot my side dish and didnt bring it to me until I was literally almost done eating. Will never go back.
Mothers Day Brunch was an absolute disaster. They recommended reservations so we made some and it was pointless because we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. They crammed people in and the service and food was mediocre at best. At one point in time, they removed the high chair from our table and then said, Oh, well there is a child that needed it and you can hold yours. Over-priced and they were too focused on getting as many people in to get money. Absolutely will not return.
It was amazing!! My husband and I came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and we are so glad we did!! The wait for our dinner was a little long but it was so worth it!! I had the lobster tails and my husband had the stuffed chicken breast!! And the creme brulee was delicious too!! Definitely give this place a try!!
I have never written a bad review on a restaurant but this needs to be said. I have come in here for door dash multiple times when it is not even busy and have had to wait and sit there for 20-30 minutes atleast. This affects my pay, time and ratings on the app. If you can’t get the food out then please stop partnering with door dash. This is the only restaurant I have this problem with in all of braselton.
This was the worst experience I have ever had. The food was so so. The service was completely unacceptable. The waitress would disappear for over 20 minutes and when she came back she acted like there was nothing wrong!!We asked her if we could place a to go order at 7:00pm and at 7:26 I went to find a manager because she never came back. I was told the manager was too busy to talk to me. The waitress finally came back and now we have to sit and wait for our to go order even though we tried to order it while we were eating. Such a waste of time!! Poor service and poor management!! The table next to us had the same issues and their order was messed up!
I had one of the BEST ribeye steaks tonight that I have ever eaten. It was very tender, nicely seasoned and cooked at a perfect medium temperature. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her lobster tails. Her Georgia Peach mixed drink was delicious and my draft Bud Light was ice cold. It was a perfect meal!!
Before I posted this review, I texted and called the owner Yanis. His phone # was given to me by the hostess who answered when I called Monday early afternoon (October 26th). I also left a message with the hostess for the manager, again Ryan who was running late that day, to have him return my call. I have yet to receive a response from either, so here I go:First, our potato soup came out warm and not hot so the server literally just microwaved it. Then, it took over an hour to get our food for 4 people which consisted of flatb reads, an omelet, and a shrimp po boy. My food came and the omelet came out incorrect. We also lacked refills. When we asked for the manager he literally NEVER came out. NEVER!!! His name is Ryan Beagle by the way. Other patrons left and complained. The poor wait staff had to hear us vent because the shamed Manager never came out. We sat down at 12pm, which is when our reservation was set at, and our bill came out (which was discounted) at 1:40pm. We came for a birthday and will NOT be returning because of the management. Look elsewhere for a nice lunch on a Sunday.
So prr the usual the food is fantastic! Service is good, ordered a mixed drink and sent it back.... Tasted like barmop water with lemon. Only reason for 3 stars is for the drink and it was freezing in the restaurant!!!! Even asked if they could turn up the heat and nothing. DONT BE CHEAP....TURN UP THE HEAT, IT RUINS THE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!
Been around for a while now with a couple different owners I believe. For the most part its a great experience. The food is always good and a great wine selection and bar. Ive had issues with slow service here but nothing that kept me from coming back. Its a great local restaurant and I would recommend for a night out or a great lunch.
Horrible service. Waited 45 minutes for the server to bring out cold food. First blamed it on the large party in the back then said it was the food we ordered. We ordered one entree and a salad. How hard is that? Drinks we not refilled and you cannot see anyone that cares about serving the customers anywhere. This used to be a great place. Those days are gone.
This place is unquestionably one of the finest restaurants in the region. Every time I visit this place I am awfully happy. They preserve their very high standard service and the topmost level of dishes they serve. You will be always satisfied with this restaurant. Very recommended.
Terrible... my first restaurant review and i ordered to go food since my favorite wing place was relocated and i had to get home quickly... i walked in and placed an order.... first of all they messed up my order... and i got ripped off... then with the wait being about close to an hour after going through the trouble of trying to place my order and correct them, i felt a lot of disrespect from the workers there... once i FINALLY got my ordered, they forgot one of my orders but i was already home. i was considering going back but i didnt wanna wait another hour for a soup... there was another customer next to me getting fristrated by the wait and i totally understand and after seeing the other reviews.. i see they have this problem with others too... never coming back here again
I’ve not been here. My deciding factor was the lack of response from the owner to correct the service failures. I only see responses/comments for the rave reviews. That in and of itself says a lot. No restaurant is perfect and some of the comments on service were a bit petty. It’s still difficult to imagine my family having a bad experience and no accountability from the owner. Perhaps you need to respond to every paying customer, not just your regulars, favorites or those complementing your establishment.
I called and made a reservation for tonight at 7:30pm...went in at 7:15pm and was told they would put me on the list (not sure what list this was). I asked how long it would be before our table was ready and I was told they would call me because they were unsure of how long it would be. At 8:00pm, they still did not have a table available and could still not give me an estimated time a table would be available. I would love to be able to comment on the food, but instead we went elsewhere. This was a huge let down and the level of customer service was appalling!
Houndstooth was great during out recent visit. Food and service was top notch. Most importantly, our server Kami was outstanding. She was very responsive to all the guest in our group and patient with the kids (we all know how many questions kids can have sometimes). She even drew a picture of a cake on a napkin for one of my boys, when he asked her for it since he did not know how that cake looks like. Everyone enjoyed their time and loved the food, and since we had 20 people with us and everyone in the group had a blast, that’s something. Great service, thanks.
Grabbed lunch here. Tasted the Reuben and the Chicago Steak sandwich. Both are quite good. Fries are about what you can expect from casual American dining. Interior decor and atmosphere is fancier than your average sports bar but still casual enough to dress down. I would imagine that a more lengthy dinner in the evening would be even better.
I was hoping to share the wonderful experiences others had shared in their reviews. I visited Houndstooth last Monday August 8th. Unfortunately I was not as lucky. The ambiance was there. The server was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately all was ruined by my meal. I ordered the chopped steak with red skinned mashed potato and green beans. I was served two frozen hamburger patties smothered with a cold lumpy tasteless gravy. The red skinned mashed potato was not fully cooked so I had large chunks of uncooked potato. The only pleasant experience were my green beans. Maybe they have other items on the menu that is more pleasant to the palate. This was not it.
Sat at the bar and ordered off the trio menu; grouper, artichokes and beef sliders. Food good but was slow to get out and service is understaffed. This is not the first time this has happened. Bar was full as well as the surrounding tables and booths. The bartender was all by herself and did the best she could. She lost tips and some customers left. The manger came out for a few minutes, left and never came back. Management needs to get it together and if it requires to pitch in and help, do it or you will continue to lose customers. Very disappointed tonight.
Good food! All sorts of things on the menu: great salad, good seafood/ chicken entrees. Something for everyone. Usually easy to get a table.Nice atmosphere. However service can be spotty. Ive been there before and waited 30min to get entrees when the place was empty, though that is not typical.
Food is mediocre. We were not greeted at the door by the 2 hostess. They just stared at the table chart as we stood there. We were taken to a table that had sugar packet leftovers on it. We were however greeted by our waiter. Who was a good waiter. However is apron had obviously been thru a few days of wear. It starts the whole meal off with a dirty feel. We experienced flys at our table during the meal. My Cesar salad was swimming in dressing. Who puts grapes on Cesar salads? My wife had a chicken Alfredo that had crushed red pepper in it. It was way to spicy for her.Its too bad. They have a great location and could use a make over and menu refresh.
The food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. I love the surprisingly elegant ambiance and decor. However, several of the booth seats are held together by duct tape, which completely undermines the elegant atmosphere and makes the seats really uncomfortable. Also, portion sizes leave a little to be desired. I ordered the veggie stir-fry, but I had to ask for more rice with my entree.
The food was great but the service was less than stellar. Aside from the extended wait time, which could easily be attributed to fresh, made-to-order food, the server was less than engaging nor attentive. As a result, I had to borrow my wifes butter knife to cut my food and often times, was without a drink.
Food was very bland. Green beans had no flavor. Shrimp and grits were OK not great. The gravy on my wifes chicken tasted like flour. And OMG how can you screw up Fried Green Tomatoes that badly. Ill never go back. Sorry but, we should have gotten a clue when it was 4 pm on a Saturday and no one was there but us.
Inconsistent. We have great experiences and then we have bad experiences. Our last visit was unfortunately a bad one. I ordered the artichoke chicken, one of my favorites, and while the chicken was perfect the sides were terrible. My steamed broccoli was completely raw and the green beans were flavorless and tasted as though they were cooked in the microwave. Not to mention their air conditioning was dripping all over our table and in our food. This place is usually one of our favorites, but after this last experience I dont think I will be returning.
Our server took over 10 min to bring water and at 25 min still hand not brought our adult drinks. Never even got to order food. We left and went to a different place. And they were busy. Lots of wait staff standing around not doing anything it was not how my previous dining here had been. Disappointing
I just had my Moms 50th birthday dinner here and it was absolutely fantastic!! Our server Debbie was amazing and super accommodating. The food was outstanding. I would recommend Houndstooth to everyone for their special occasions, or just a good meal. I couldnt be happier with how everything turned out 😁
Look. The food was pretty tasty I wont lie. BUT the service was horrible. They left our poor waiter to handle our group of 13 by himself even though we were nearly the only ones in the restaurant. I cant blame him for the service because he should have had major help but my drink was continually dry and I think I got only one refill the entire dinner. The bar is a JOKE! Super tiny booths that we managed to jam 2 people per side into but really seem to be made for one person. The bar didnt have any ciders to offer (one if the fastest growing segments of beer by the way) and they couldnt make a Moscow mule for lack of ginger beer which is probably THE most popular drink right now. Only 6 options on tap? Really? Got to the table and the limited wine selection didnt give us many good options but we ordered 2 of the best red on the list and needed a third but of course, they didnt have anymore. It was like a circus in this place. Doubt I would ever go back unless reviews to the opposite of mine start piling up.
Romantic, good food, clean, very attentive probably a soft music in the place could be good. Un lugar muy lindo y especial los mozos muy buenos, quizas hace falta una musica suave.Being here 3 times last two time has some issues with the food, they just change the food and said sorry, not going any more.
Just got back from there, I had the mixed seafood plate. It was really good!! We got there right at 11am and nobody was there yet. It filled up fast just past 12:30pm.Well be back as everyone in our group really loved the food!Servers could be a little bit happier, would be my only critique. Which is minor, of course.
I just got home from houndstooth. The food was excellent but the service and lack of attention left much to be desired. My wife and I arrived at 6:35 and were seated promptly for a Friday night (about 10 minutes after we arrived.) However we waited well over an hour for our food to arrive. We ordered drinks which took about 20 minutes to arrive after being seated. After an hour of waiting my wife asked for a manager and then our food suddenly arrived. The manager arrived half way into our meal and said he would do something to make it right but nothing was done. We have not asked for anything in the year and a half we have we been together and that was not the point, we just thought he should about the situation. This will not be the place we choose for further date nights.
Worst dining experience I’ve had in a while. Aside from waiting nearly an hour for our food, half of it was cold (pasta, mashed potatoes, steak), half of our party were missing part of their dishes (sides were missing, and one of us did not get their salad), and of the ones of us who got our complete orders the orders were wrong. Over priced and not worth it. Also couldn’t even get the checks right AFTER asking everyone to repeat their orders and how they would like them split up. Chick-fil-A across the street would have been better!
I have to believe we just came on the wrong day. We ordered a type of seafood dip and it was served just luke warm with the hardest tortilla chips you could imagine.. I ordered a side salad and it never came until I asked the waitress to please box it up when she was putting our entrees down. Then I look at my entree and I asked the french fries be substituted for broccoli. No broccoli and a whole pile of fries. 😟 My husband ordered this fancy fish dish that had a type of seafood stuffing on top. It probably would have been wonderful had it not been the very same luke warm seafood dip we had started the meal with. I was very disapointed when I had to put my card out to pay for that meal.
We have been to Houndstooth before with poor service, but last week in our return visit takes the cake. I waited for 15 minutes ACTUALLY to get my water, while tables that had been seated after me were being handed their waters and a man had managed to get 3 beers while I still have no water. When I asked can I order I got a finger put up in my face telling me to “hang on.” When asked about what is going on, the same waitress replied “we are busy.” (Mind you it’s maybe 20 people with 2 people manning the bar) when we looked surprised and said, “busy?” said waitress ran to the back of the bar mimicking us and being rude in her LOUD discussion with the other bartender. All of this attitude and hassle for awful food. Overall, our experience here left us wondering why this is a neighborhood favorite and we will likely never return.
Kudos to the staff , management and chefs, great job all for the wonderful Easter Buffet today!! Everyone did a great job !! Prices reasonable, staff attitude very pleasant and helpful. A pleasure to dine here today. Update, new server Carol provided especially great service tonight. Thank you!!
The service, food and atmosphere were great. Our waiter was awesome. He checked on us constantly and was very polite. We went there to celebrate my sisters birthday and asked if they would come out and sing happy birthday to her. F our waiter said that he regretted to inform us that the restaurant does not perform that service. We laughed because we thought that he was going to inform us of something totally different. LOL!!
Excellent food and service. My wife and I had dinner here and it truly didnt disappoint. We live just up the road from this restaurant and always seems to overlook it when choosing somewhere to spend time together over dinner. The filet I had was simple and superb. Just salt and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Absolutely check this place out if you would like somewhere with stellar food and a calm quiet atmosphere.
Something happened here. Not sure if its Covid or poor management. Had to flag a server down to get waited on after 10 min. Then he forget our drinks until I flagged him down again 10 minutes later. Food came 30 min later luke warm. Based on the other reviews it seems our experience is not unique. Well try again next year.
Ordered a take out order tonight and all I can say is WOW, its hard to say which was better, the ribeye, the calamri or the shrimp. Great service as well, but the food, just WOW. Longhorns lost a customer tonight when they refused a take out order, their loss is definitely my gain. I cant recommend the Houndstooth enough.
So disappointed on Fathers Day. Anticipated a great buffet but waited and waited for fresh food. Our large party was stuck in a room with another large party and the room had NO A/C. It was broken and when we asked about repairs we were given the silent treatment. 87 degrees in the room. Service was good considering the crowd.
45 mins to get our appetizer, our food came out 25 mins later which was cold, I got the stuffed chicken which was overcooked so the herbed cream cheese was nonexistent. We were one of 5 tables in the entire restaurant. We used to love coming here, but it has gone downhill to the point that we wont return. It makes it worse when the servers dont care. They did however give, and process our check in 5mins tho. Also no refills on drinks
A good local spot with a decent menu and family friendly prices. Salads are fresh as are the burgers. It has a full bar that we’ve never seen dominate the place. Nice atmosphere with no kids running amok. May sound a bit strange, but the waitstaff can be a bit too attentive, as in how’s your day, mine is ok but my car is in the shop, yada yada. No need to keep visiting once the food gets there.
I love the grouper fingers they have. My friend had the po boy sandwich. After 2 bites he said it wasnt good at all so he ordered quesadilla (bbq) and lived it. My other buddy ordered bbq quesadilla and loved it. The ticket times were unnecessarily long. We sat at the bar which was a different room than dining room. This was my first time at this place. I will go back and dine again. Maybe dining experience would be different. Will let you know.
Food was honestly not very good at all for the price. I ordered the Ahi Tuna appetizer as a meal. It read on the menu that it was served with “Siracha Mayo” I believe. The sauce was ranch dressing with a little bit of siracha mixed in. Ranch and raw tuna are not a good combo. It was the worse Ahi Tuna I’ve ever had. The other sauce it was served with tasted like Worcestershire sauce. They don’t have a good choice of sides either. A person I was with ordered fish and it was over cooked and dry. The steak another friend of mine ordered was good though. The service was okay as well. But overall I would go elsewhere for a nice dinner there are much better places for the price.
My wife and I visited this establishment last night. We were fairly pleased with the food and service but not so happy with the management. We had brought in a Groupon that said $20 off Dinner for two or more. We purchased a beer, an appetizer trio, and a main course to share. There was no fine print that said we had to purchase 2 main courses and yet they told us that we could not use the Groupon because we had not purchased 2 main courses. They told us that we could purchase a dessert and then they would honor it but I was already upset. We ended up spending more than what we wanted to because they decided they werent going to honor it from what it said. If we would have know what we could have purchased 2 cheaper entrees and spent a lot less.Whats even more unfortunate is that they would rather have 6 more dollars (cost of dessert) than have a satisfied customers who would love to return. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Waited nearly 10 minutes today at lunch just to be seated. Not busy at all. Then waited nearly 15 minutes before the waitress took our drink order. Placed our orders of 2 classic burgers. No lettuce, tomato, pickle or onion on the plate. Burgers were smaller than 1/2 lb, more close to 1/3 lb. Meat was dry, no flavor. I dont know whats happened, but the service and food has gone downhill since the last time we dined here 6 months ago.
Houndstooth is a locals hangout. Food is wonderful and reasonably priced and the service is great. You can eat in the restaurant part, which is white tablecloth and a large area, or sit in the more casual, smaller bar with tvs which is separate. The bar has a great deal of three items for $10 and deals on drinks during happy hour which is 3:30-7:30. There is also a nice outdoor patio area when the weather is good.
Poor customer service, food is good but the portion size has decreased a lot and I really dont want to pay $11 for a child size pasta. My office used to love Hondstooth but something has changed and we will not pay high prices for bad customer service and tinny plates. Would not recommend eating here.
Attended a party at this restaurant (private room) and was thoroughly impressed by the waiter. He went out of his way (and worked his butt off) to make sure everyone was taken care of, including my mom and I who require GF food due to Celiac disease. Food was tasty enough, everyone around the room seemed happy with their meals and ambiance of the restaurant overall was nice. Bathrooms could have used some attention and the staffing was a little off, as our poor server was the only one assigned to the room and it was a decent sized party. He did an amazing job, but could have used a bit of assistance. Also, I really hope theyll actually go through the process of identifying a gluten free menu in the future, as they seem to have some reasonable options, but without having it readily available it makes the servers work extra hard (or could be a strong deterrent to a customer if the server isnt as awesome as Ryan when trying to make sure the meal is safe for the one who needs GF).
I would like to have Mothers Day brunch at your restaurant, but I am concerned about the negative reviews. They all seem to have the same issues with your service, which is a big deal to me. The last response to a complaint was over two months ago. Give me a great reason to dine at your restaurant and Ill be there!
I visited the restaurant 2 weeks ago and ordered the avocado/crab salad. Unfortunately, the crab salad stuffed in the avocado half’s served was rancid. The salad was 13.00 and 4.00 was taken off due the spoiled food. The remaining salad was good, but it was a 4.00 side salad at most, not 9.00.
Ordered the Mahi Mahi and it came very dry and bland, ordered a side salad for 4 bucks and it was a bowl full of chunky iceberg lettuces with cheap croutons on it. I will not be back. Service was ok. Rolls were tasted as if they had been heated in a microwave before being severed. All food tasted as if it were frozen at some point. Candle on table put off a chemical smell and had to be extinguished.
I went to the Houndstooth recently and the bartender Necie was AMAZING, she made me her famous blueberry martini and I couldn’t handle all the YUMMINESS! Everything about my night was great. Necie was so happy and fun to be around! I’ll be back every Thursday for Blueberry Martini’s and fried oysters.

2022-06-20We came here for Fathers Day. Its far from where we live but we were in the area. We ate here for dinner on Fathers Day 2022. Host was very friendly. Made us feel welcome. Our waitress was awesome. She accommodated us and made sure that our food was exactly how we wanted. The calamari was the best Ive had. All our food were great. The price for the entrees are fair. Everything is expensive nowadays. We got a sample dessert platter because it was Fathers day. That was a treat. I definitely recommend. Great place, great food, great service!

2022-06-25A very beautiful place! When you see the inside it makes you forget the plaza and traffic on the outside.I had the steak here before and it was among the best steaks I ever had. This time we tried the swiss mashroom burger. And although I would ask for more mashroom, the burger had an excellent balance of tastes. And the waitress was really nice.Accessible with wheel chair and clean ! The prices are not bad at all! For the quantity and quality I would call the prices at least fair!

2021-12-11By myself I went in and sat at the bar. I chose the salmon salad and it was just outstanding. Perfect salmon. My only complaint is that the whole restaurant was almost intolerably loud. There was a private party on the other side, and people at the bar were yelling (pleasantly) at each other—don’t know if this was all just that night or all the time.Don’t go if you want a quiet night. Do go if you want EXCELLENT salmon.

2022-04-26I highly recommend the Houndstooth! We had a rehearsal dinner with more than 50 people and the staff was superb! Ryan was so good working with us to get it schedule. The staff that night was great, they were on top of it! The food was very good. I really cant say enough good things about them. You will not be disappointed with the food or service.

2022-04-23We ordered doordash this evening and the mashed potatoes were made with rotten milk or rotten potatoes. My son told me it tasted bad and I didnt think anything of it until I tasted them myself. My son threw up shortly after and now refuses to eat potatoes. This is completely unacceptable and I wonder how many others were served spoiled food. How something like this made it out of the kitchen is beyond me.

2022-07-15Ive tried, I really have. After 4 visits, Im done. The last time I took my Dad, Brother, a.d Sister-in-Law to dinner when they visited from out of town. It took 1hr and 20 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered, and it was cold. My sister in law ordered a salad with salmon, the salmon was raw and had to be sent back. The staff is polite, but the service is slow even when the place is empty. I love to support local but in this case I just cant.

2022-02-01We arrived at roughly 7. Took a few minutes to be seated. The fact they were understaffed made the dinner long. Each step from ordering drinks to ordering food to getting served was painful slow. The server was friendly and apologized. The saving grace was the food was good and the beer was cold. Will try again soon to see if the service improves.

2022-05-07My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for the last 6 years. It WAS one of our favorites. We would make it an every Friday night ritual. Over the last 6 months the service has declined. It has declined so bad that we will never go back again. We were there for over two hours tonight because the service was HORRIBLE! The bartenders were taking shots with other “off the clock” employees. It’s sad. Houndstooth used to be a customer first restaurant. If you want good service, I would suggest you go to another restaurant in the area.

2021-06-21I had the Shrimp and grits and they were very good. Just a little bit of spice from the Andouille sausage. The shrimp were very flavorful. My son had the vegetable pasta which he enjoyed.

2022-06-10Id give it 0 stars if I could. My wife and I just walked out after being seated in an obviously NOT busy restaurant, and were ignored by no less than 3 different waiters/waitresses, for 30 minutes. People that were seated after us had drinks and had already ordered their meals when we left. Tried twice to flag down the hostess twice, to no avail.. Will not be back.
