Great experience! I dont particularly care for the GTX upgrade but some people may appreciate the larger screen and seats with give. Either way the movies are great. This location has a wonderfully enthusiastic host whos happy to dress up and send you off to your movie with a smile in style, and the manager was incredibly helpful when I had a ticket mishap. This is definitely my first pick for movies in town, and I look forward to seeing many more here.
It was great! The people were nice and professional! I know it is hard to work at a theater and that there can be a lot of Karens but all of the people had a smile on their face and treated us very nicely! It was very clean and kept nice! The line for concessions was very long when we got there but the wait was not any longer than about 10 minutes maybe 15 at the max! The only negative thing I have to say is that the prices at concessions are quite high but that is ever Movie Theater ever known! I have been going to this theater ever since I was little and I have to say the service has always been great! Overall I have to say you MUST go to this theater!
There was a slight disturbance between some teenagers and a guy behind us that I barely noticed until the guy raised his voice. The staff dealt with it quickly. This is not the normal experience. Normally I have a good experience with the food, audio, and video quality. I was pleasantly surprised that they use the new style painted surface that has a good color reflection.
I dont know whats wrong with theater #3 but the screen was horrible. I went for the 1pm showing of eternals and i wish my girlfriend and i had stayed home. Including popcorn and 2 icees with the tickets i paid $40 for a terrible acreen. My money would have been better put to use if i had signed up for HBO Max and waited for it. At least then my money would have been worth every penny watching hd movies for a month on my phone or laptop. Both of which have better quality than this theater. We will never come here again.
We watched Snake Eyes on the GTX screen. The seats are a bit worn out in the GTX room not sure of the other rooms. The seats are the leather cushion seats not fabric with the arm rests that move.Popcorn is alright, we favor the highly salted and highly buttered Popcorn but it wasnt bad. Some prefer it plain so theres that. I will say that I asked the person at register if I could have the large popcorn filled halfway so we could add in the butter halfway then refill the rest of the bucket. They were super friendly and even encouraged us to so. We all had a good laugh about it. So that was awesome. The screen quality is good in the GTX room my only complaint is when the trailers came on the lights never shut off. It disrupted the quality of the new trailers. If I was in the area again I would go back but only for the GTX room. Acoustics are good, could be a bit louder but it was enough to drown the noise of the people around us. AC is comfortable in the building maybe a light sweater if your cold all the time (that would be me).Super friendly staff, person at the ticket booth you can tell enjoys working at the theater and complimented the perks of going to the GTX room. Person who helped us with the popcorn also super friendly, like I mentioned we had a good laugh when I shared my hopes of getting layered buttered and they were absolutely on board with us to help.
We love this place. Going there again tonight. So glad they have reopened after being closed for safety reasons because of the Coronavirus. Discount movie tickets, reasonable prices on popcorn, candy, and drinks. Very nice establishment, both lookswise and service wise. Great movie theater.
Love this movie theater!! Chairs are super comfy! Its always clean! The environment is normally quiet during the movies. During the day is normally hardly anyone there - just a sidebar for those who dont like big crowds by still want to be able to visit tyre movies from time to time v
Employees are very nice. Theatres, snack area, and bathrooms are always clean. They are generally pretty fast and efficient when buying tickets and refreshments. The only reason I could not give them a five is because I try not to support any Hollywood garbage to enable them to perpetuate their harmful agenda on this great nation. However, I will try to attend Christian movies or movies with Christian or conservative values. This theatre does try to host Christian movies when they are available and I am grateful for that.
We love going to the movies and it has been a family tradition since I was little to go after family events. I go all the time with my kids and love it, easy to get in and out, always clean and professional. Seats are comfy and theatre is nice and roomy! Biggest complaint for me, and why I give it 3 stars is the assigned seating. When we go with several families it’s almost impossible to sit together anymore. It makes the experience impossible to plan and a headache to coordinate. Wish they would go back to first come first serve.
Definitely our go-to movie theater in the area. Located in a nice neighborhood, plenty of parking, clean and sanitary restrooms, always a variety of good movies (new and classic) available, helpful staff, and comfortable/well maintained seating to enjoy the show. There was one time we tried watching an afternoon show but the theater was closed for an event or reserved party when we got there. It wasnt too big of a deal but notices and/or posters on the front of the theater, informing the public of the changed hours wouldve been nice.
Nice Theater! Manager Dan and the other Managers are Nice and Friendly. They talk to you and make you feel Welcome. Good Service at the Snack Bar. The GTX is Great. Lots of room, nice comfortable rocking chairs. Manager Dan liked to dress up for the Special movies. He is Great the way he gets in to the movie.
I love this theater and prefer it over the Galleria on Watson. I gave it four stars for a few reasons. 1: I think they should offer the movie tickets outside like they used to for those who dont want to wait in line for concessions. Though I understand their wanting to minimize the lines. 2. The theater is FREEZING. Ive been in cold theaters but its extremely uncomfortable to enjoy the movie when you feel like youre in an ice box. I usually wear my jacket and bring a small blanket but in the future I will be bringing a twin comforter. lol. And the volume could be a little higher for the film but it isnt too bad. You cant hear the neighboring movies being played like the Galleria. But other than those issues I enjoy this theater. They also offer a better concession collection, but due to the freezing theater, I hope they start offering hot chocolate as well. :)
This is the newest movie theater in Houston County and it shows. It has been around a few years now, but it is always clean (including the mens room). Usually, you have to pay for your tickets at the concession stand, but you can bypass the lines by using a kiosk if youll be paying with plastic.
My only complaint is that I was uncomfortably warm. They have more than one row of wheelchair seating, and thats not something most theaters can boast. Its very nice when a place actually cares about their handicap clientele. The sound and video quality was superb. I definitely recommend this place!
Great movie theater! Always keeps it clean and enjoy coming here cuz you dont feel the sticky feeling you get at other movie theaters. The service here is always good, they have one guy that when he tears your ticket he always does a pun about the movie you are going to, after of course telling you where to go. And I enjoy looking forward to seeing him dress up as well for big movies! He is my favorite one there and makes it worth going to the theaters instead of just waiting till it comes out on DVD. Hope other employees learn from his awesome work skills and we can have more services like his! The manager here also refunded my ticket when my friends couldnt make it, and was able to get my money back really soon! He was nice and friendly! 10/10 will continue to go to this theater everytime I need to go see a movie in theaters
This is definitely my go to theater! The staff is absolutely amazing, they are very friendly. The theater in itself is very well maintained and clean. I have never once see the bathrooms unattended to.I love to splurge on the GTX when the kids have a favorite movie being released. Or maybe I should say when any Star Wars or Avengers movie is released.. The GTX has amazing rocking seats. The surround sound quality is excellent!!!
Better than average sound, seats and snack bar. The smaller rooms are a bit cramped, but thats what smaller rooms are. The employees there are very friendly, and the bathrooms are very different. By different, I mean that they are very very clean. The cinema we go to is a bit closer, but given the same movie choices...we would go here if we could.Dont forget to try the snack bar. Their popcorn is really good.
Very nice theater and we love the GTX seats when we feel like splurging. The only downside is they dont always thoroughly clean between viewings so youll step on popcorn and candy when getting to your seats. Obviously everyone knows how expensive movies have gotten as well as snacks.
I recently drove 55 miles round trip to this theater because I wanted to see the Black Panther movie in the GTX Theater, with the Stadium Seating. I was blown away by the entire experience. The sound and visuals were amazing, and Dan, the theaters Manager, could not stop thanking the audience for coming out to see the Black Panther movie at Houston Lakes Cinemas. I felt as though I had an out of body experience while watching the movie at this very beautiful, comfortable, and very clean theater. I will definitely be back to watch movies there in the future. The commute was well worth the drive. #Kudos
Generally clean and as long as you avoid the seats just a few feet from the screen, the view for most screens is pretty good. Recommend you join their free rewards program. Then you can just give them your cell number when buying tickets/concessions. You always get free up-sizing and points for free future tickets/concessions.
Nice clean theater. Only issue is their website, its difficult to navigate and Google and Fandango dont always have the correct playtimes...last weekend I tried to take my daughter to a movie and ended up going to a different theater because the movie times were different. Three different families (who were not in a group with us) showed up at both theaters also, clearly with the same issue.
What can I say about this? No military discount was a shock because of how close they were to an Air Force base. This in my opinion is abysmal! It was clean and the customer service OK because there was a single attendant that we had to ask if we paid him for the movie. It was a slow day when we went there. The movie theater itself was sort of forgettable because the seats were uncomfortable. I might just be spoiled from my movie theater, but paying $7.50 for tickets. I bought popcorn & a drink and they were both not worth the $15 I paid. I was quite disappointed.
Had an incident with a couple talking during the movie and when the employee spoke to them, he let them convince him to ask me to move seats instead of dealing with them properly. Theres no Alamo Drafthouse in the area so this became my regular theater and I came here on a weekly basis, but the absolutely spineless manner in which this incident was handled has completely soured me to coming back and they will not be seeing another dime of my money. And if the management or staff actually read these reviews, I would like them to know that they have a big lovely leak in the ceiling of their GTX theater and that the idea to have reserved seating for every single showing is monumentally stupid and totally unecessary.
My favorite movie theater of all time. New (although not as new as it used to be, but the same could be said of me), always clean, awesome staff (especially if you get the teenage ticket taker that always has a bad pun for WHATEVER movie your seeing...my daughters LOVE him), and usually empty (if you can get to the earlier opening day showings, 2:30-4:00pm). Keep up the good work!!!
GTX! Its a great theater. Im a tall guy so the extra leg room in the GTX is worth its weight in gold! The screen is huge and the sound is great. The concessions are pricey but thats pretty standard fare for theaters nowadays. Clean bathrooms. Overall a very good movie going experience.
The theater seats do not allow small children to sit without it flipping up on them. I literally have to hold my sons seat down the entire time. Children 3 and under are free, however not in the GTX theater which is ridiculous. It is far from full in here and I had to pay $42 for myself and 3 toddlers. Also no military discount??? Why not?!
I have seen the trailer for the Christian Movie, Like Arrows and the first 10 seconds grabbed me. I will not miss it and I have posted trailer on all my social media multiple times. It is such a blessing that there is a moviethat fits into todays times in seeing the true family issues that are facing our young parents and their families. God Bless this theater for showing this movie. Hope you make loads of money and blessings money cant buy like Peace, Joy, Hope, Love Mercy Favor and the list goes on. Dont miss out See you there!!!!! Encourage all parents and teens 12 up. Good for younger but they wont grasp it all.
It was my first time at this theater, and likely my last. I went to see Star Wars VIII on opening weekend, and for once, it wasnt anyone in the audience ruining the movie, it was the theater themselves! During the movie, The brightness and contrast were turned up WAY too high on the projector. Anything in dark or lighter areas on the screen were harder to see because everything was so washed out, and there was a white haze over the whole screen. To make matters worse, about 30 minutes into the movie, the whole screen went out for a second. Then again, about 30 minutes before the end of the movie, a large black bar appeared, and covered most of the screen for about 10 Seconds. It gradually moved out of the way, and when it cleared, suddenly the brightness and contrast were fixed! great... only took 2 hours into the movie to correct this...On top of this, the audio, while quality was good, wasnt normalized. The music and SFX levels were fine, but vocals were quiet. I ran into a friend who watched the movie at this theater just before I did, and said the audio completely cut out during his showing. Its a theaters job to make sure things like this dont happen and I dont enjoy paying full price to sit in a theater set up by complete amateurs. This is inexcusable. Id hate to be someone who works to produce a top quality movie, only for it to be shown in a theater like this.
Houston Lakes Cinema is a great place to go for any movie that you want to see. Great prices and great movies for the most part! I have seen quite a few movies there and I am always pleased at the service and how tidy the place is. No matter what movie you want to see I highly recommend going here!
Went to see Samson on Saturday (02-17-18) evening. Extremely crowded. Arriving in the theater about five minutes after stated start time. Movie had not started and it was delayed nearly 25 minutes. It took an individual complaining to management to get the film started. Seemed a bit sloppy to me. This was my first visit and I was not impressed.
The actual movie theater is pretty good even though the main lobby is rather lackluster. I am,however, quite displeased with how I was treated by the manager when handling an incident with another customer. With him assuming I was a child just because I look younger than my actual age he created a scene in front of the entire theater instead of discussing the issue privately with me and the other customer. I will not be returning.
Ahh yes, the place was a bit hectic, as movie theaters tend to be during big runs. It was a cold, rainy night and hovering somewhere between 34 and 35 degrees, so we got a bit moist on our way from the lot to the front door. The manager, Chynna, was quite helpful in assessing our situation. The popcorn was hot, and the drink un-iced. It was quite the thing watching her twist up a pretzel in one hand and making a diet soda in the other. Most would let this power go completely to their heads, but she was extremely down to Earth, and even directed members of her crew while simultaneously letting us know where to find our movie. A great experience.
Great experience i recently visited to watch the new Avengers endgame and getting my ticket was easily done through there ticket kiosk which was great because there was a long line but I also like how fast people were being served I got my popcorn and drink fast enough to make my movie that I was late for and the popcorn was very good and fresh upon entry there was a sign on every corner to lead me to my seat and that was very helpful the screen was humongous and the floors were clean which was a big plus for me I hate going in a nasty theater also the seats were comfortable and gum free I enjoyed my time sitting through that 3 hour movie thanks for being the best you guys A++
I went to the matinee, watched Angel has Fallen, good movie, price for movie was good..at $9.75, the concession prices were high..$6.00 for small popcorn, and $4.00 for small Sprite..if you have sensitive hearing, bring earplugs, movie was extremely loud....you could hang meat inside the theater, for the ladies out there, recommend a light sweater...it was great for me...not bad...would rate at 4.4.....
I would like to give this theater a NEGATIVE 5 for todays FIASCO with my special needs child who has autism. You dont close a snack bar with that many people watching movies. I do appreciate your theater having special needs movies for the school kids. But making everyone get all they need before the movie and NOT TELLING THEM that the snack bar is not open during the Movie is a NO NO for you or any movie company. Kids with Autism dont like crowds and they are not able to wait sometimes. So I was gonna come out during the movie and get her some candy and you had no one working the snack bar which caused a meltdown resulting in neither of us getting to watch half the movie. SO I feel you owe me 2 tickets and a free box of candy - since you BOTCHED movie day. You apparently have no clue what is means to have or deal with special needs kids. Most the time this theater is good and their snack bar is open - but today was a total cluster bomb.Seriously when you have all the special needs there - did you honestly think everyone wanted to stand in line right then and get snacks...IDIOT.Like I said normally its not like this....they usually pretty good during normal movie time. But not during special needs special showings. And they normally give the kids a snack box. With popcorn, drink, and candy. Well today it was drink and popcorn only. And any special needs mom will tell you. You DONT MESS with routine when you have special needs kids. UGH
I would have given five stars, but then they started the GTX assigned seating. And now you also have to stand in the long line for the concessions just to purchase your movie ticket. So that means people who run out of the movie real quick to get a refill have to stand in line behind people waiting to purchase movie tickets. They have an area for ticket purchasing outside, and they really need to start using that again.
Came with my sisters for a movie at 10pm on a Saturday nite, at 11pm tried to purchase another order of Nachos not for me but my sister n they told me concessions were closing down n I couldnt purchase them. Then another obvious genius cashier stated to me oh taco Bell has nachos n I stated back Im still watching a movieI live in Macon and traveled 33mins to view this movie bc at my local theaters they werent showing the movie we wanted to see.Super pissed, girl was lucky I didnt choke her.Im not a violent person but I really feel disrespected and disappointed.Horrible experience. Will not be coming back.
Hated the assigned seating put on the spot to choose a seat before you even see the theater to stand there at the cashier trying to make a rash good decision before you can even buy the ticket in person . Lots of choices out there to watch movies and you take away the freedom to walk in and sit where you like, heck even airlines dont have assigned seating anymore.
Freezing theater. Bring blankets and a heater. Also now theyre making you choose your seats but their system doesnt work. When trying to explain it to the child behind the counter she just said we cant see the colors. And then went on to explain the difference between colors.
My experience would have been delightful had it not been so many texters in the theater. What bothers me (and others I suppose) about texters is that while watching the movie; a light (from his or her screen) comes on and is a distraction from the movie screen. It is so disrespectful to moviegoers. Often times people go to the movies to enter another world.. and here come ignorant people with their technology and interrupting the process. It is so annoying..
Went to watch Thor Ragnarock and a family brought their infant (still in the stroller) baby with them, so parts of the movie were missed due to baby crying in the theatre. Management gave me free tickets to compensate for mishap -- used said free tickets to watch Justice League and AGAIN another family brought their crying baby into theatre as well. Dan Chun and Christian Riddlemoser (Manager and Assist. Manager) state that there is nothing they can do. So, if you are looking to spend money to hear someones infant cry as you attempt to hear the movie you actually left your home to see.... this is the theatre for you. They will gladly offer you free tickets to return each time a baby cries during the movie! BUT, if you are looking for a night away from the kids and have actually spent money for a baby sitter, then I recommend going elsewhere or waiting for the dvd.
Great venue for movies and this is one of those situations in life that you just havw to come to terms with or stop going to the movies...I mean...other than the fact I spent close to $ 27.00 for a ticket, popcorn, diet coke, and gummy bears, everything else was GREAT.

2022-03-11This has been our main theater since it opened over 10 years ago. The theaters are usually well kept and clean. The prices for food and drink are a bit on the expensive in general - but compared to all other theaters they fall right in line. It is more a fault of the industry versus this theater. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

2022-06-11The movie was great but the theater was really awful. I was very hot it was a long ways up to get to my seats. I did like the seats it was comfortable. There was room to stretch out if you wanted to. So overall it was a place all good keep going to but dont always like

2022-06-11Not only is this theater really close to my house, its always clean and the concessions fairly priced . The employees are always friendly. Cant really expect more from a theater. Since they survived covid, I hope theyre here to stay.

2022-05-02My friend and i went go go see fantastic beast today and the lady who i order from was trying to be so nosy that she didn’t make sure there was a plastic container in the kids popcorn box, that she literally buttered up my friend’s popcorn so bad that she ended up buttering her pants along with it. Now my friend had to spend the day walking around with dried up butter on her pants looking like a toddler had peed on her. the movie was great but she needs to pay more attention

2022-06-20Need to maintenance or update with new speakers. stadium #1 has really bad sounds.. way worst than even a cheap home theater speakers... the right speakers has to loud of high frequency and the left side is almost no sound.. bass is terrible like there is non... there is no rumbling sound like it should... no experience of being at a theater.

2022-05-09Generally they would have a 5 but Im irritated. The staff was friendly BUT since they began adding the butter on your popcorn its a mess. Today I sat down with the popcorn and discovered that there was sooooo much butter that it literally soaked my jeans. It ruined an expensive pair of jeans. The stain goes from the top to bottom about 12 inches wide. That was simply irresponsible. Who does that.

2018-10-22The seats were very comfortable. The theatre rooms themselves are pretty small which is good for acoustics and so that it doesnt get too crowded. The staff didnt close the doors when my movie started so I could hear everything going on in the previews next door. It ruined the experience for me.

2022-07-09Our go to theater but at the Thor premier on Thursday the GTX theater’s ceiling was leaking around seats J9-J10.Otherwise, we love this theater and their staff
