Our cake from How Sweet It Is Cake Studio was absolutely delicious! All of our party guests loved the cakes taste and presentation! The owner was super sweet - she was quick to respond to pricing quotes, invoicing was super simple and our cake was made on time and looked exactly as imagined. I cannot recommend her enough. I highly suggest her buttercream frosting as well - it is SO good!!
Absolutely delicious Cakes!!! How Sweet It Is offers so many delicious and fun flavors of cakes that you cant help but want to try them all! We had cookies and cream for my sons first birthday and she made his cake so special and memorable! His birthday cake also came with a tiny smash cake she made for him to have! We got so many compliments on his Dr. Seuss cake, we will definitely be getting all our future cakes from here!

I put in an inquiry for a birthday cake to be made. No response! I sent an email, no response!!! I called, no answer!! Took my business to pat-a-cakes!!*EDIT RESPONSE TO OWNER* You assume wrong, I read your statement about delays before I put in my inquiry. And if you read your own statement, it states to put in orders 2 weeks prior. And you will respond UP TO 72 Hours not including Sundays. And if you actually looked at my inquiry you would’ve noticed I placed the inquiry On the 3rd of January and asked for pick up on January 20! Which is more than the time that you request. So no, I wasn’t in a hurry I was following your directions. This is the first time you have contacted me, but thanks for responding after I left a review. Good luck with your daughter and business!It doesn’t matter what time I turn in an inquiry or online order with any business! Like most businesses the order or inquiry will be processed 1-3 business days later. Like you stated! I consider myself a cake lover for sure and have had my fair share of purchasing delicious cakes and have had amazing cake designers. Baking is definitely an art and an art I do not have myself, but I’m beyond willing to purchase and pay the price for what I want. This place is a disaster, but will go straight to what matters. We purchased a three tier cake two of the tiers on the bottom being dummies and only a 9in on top was real. We paid $242 for a 9in cake with two dummies. Again if I would have got what I wanted I really wouldn’t care. Let’s start with the quality of the cake. OMG! first of all who ever baked the cake isn’t a baker. The middle was moist but about 1in of the cake towards the outside was hard as a rock. We literally had to dig to get the good part of the cake. The chocolate was so lite didn’t even taste like a good chocolate cake. I asked for chocolate mousse and that was the weakest mousse ever had no volume nor fluff. So safe to say the cake itself was bad. We would have been better going to fresh market or sams. Now the Embellishments and decor was so out dated and it had no pop nor anything extravagant look. Mind you I paid $242 because I wanted a show stopper cake for my sons 1st bday. I was extremely disappointed with not only the quality of cake but beyond disappointed with the art work. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NO ANYONE. Nice people but it takes more then being nice to run a successful bakery.

I am over the moon happy with the baby shower cake my sister ordered. Everything we requested was completed to perfection! Let me talk about the taste— they make great cakes! We had a strawberry flavored cake and it was DELICIOUS. All well done moist cakes. I am super happy we have found a great local bakery close to our neighborhood! Owner was great and even placed the cake in my car. My party loved it!
How Sweet It Is made my son’s 6th birthday custom Sonic cake and boy it was a hit! I reached out to the bakery and she made everything so easy and accommodated my wants for the cake—no fuss! Everyone at the party raves about how delicious the cake was and wanting to know where I ordered the cake from! They were also impressed with the quality of the cake, I ordered strawberry and everyone was floored that it was made and had real strawberries in it! Hands down highly recommend!!!

My fiance and I went in for a cake tasting. The owner and her assistant were both friendly, welcoming and professional. We chose a mint chocolate chip bottom layer and the rum flavored for the top two (not sure the actual flavor name). The owner is the sweetest woman. She went above and beyond to create the perfect cake for us. It tasted amazing. It looked incredible. We also got chocolate and strawberry flavored cupcakes. Again, tasted fantastic. We found the baker well be using from now on.
This is one of the best cakes I have purchased for my baby girls birthday! I sent a picture of what my little princess wanted and never step foot into the shop until I picked it up. The consultant was very customer oriented and paid attention to what we desired. The multi-tiered cake was a complete success! It held up, it tasted great, and all of it was gone before the end of the party!!!!!! So many compliments... Some guests got the information off the box. Most of all, my daughter loved it!!! Chari is absolutely amazing!! Her cakes were by far the best we tasted during our hunt for a wedding cake. When we had our tasting it was so hard to choose a flavor, that instead of just picking one, we decided to do 3 cakes from her. She made our gorgeous wedding cake, grooms cake, as well as our rehearsal dinner cake. Everyone at our rehearsal dinner and wedding raved about our cake and we had many people request her information for their future cakes. Now a year after our original tasting, we called upon her again to make our baby reveal cake and of course she didnt disappoint! Needless to say, shell be making all of our cakes for any special occasion and I cant recommend her enough for any future brides or any of your cake needs!!
I ordered a beach themed cake for my daughter’s Sweet 16. I sent Chari a picture of the cake I wanted with the specifications and she nailed it! The cake was wonderful; in taste and presentation! AMAZING experience! I ordered my daughters 5th birthday cake from How Sweet It Is and it absolutely blew me away!! My daughter was having a unicorn party and I found a picture of a cake we were interested in. The owner was so attentive, answered questions almost immediately, was so helpful in getting my order together and you can not beat her prices!! The turned even better than I hoped. Everyone RAVED about how adorable it was and it was DELICIOUS! I ordered two cakes back to back, one for my baby shower and another for my son’s birthday party. Both cakes were exceptionally delicious. The baby shower cake was a coconut cake and it was so decadent, I would definitely recommend this flavor for any coconut lover! The birthday cake was themed after The Good Dinosaur movie and Chari and her family recreated a Good Dinosaur cake beautifully. I had a very positive experience working with the family to create the cakes that I envisioned; all of our communication was done through FB messenger and they always responded as quickly as they could, even given the fact that they had a family emergency during this time. They delivered two amazing cakes and I definitely recommend to anyone that wants to impress their guest with a decadent cake that looks just as good as it taste!

Fantastic customer service! The baker answered all my question in a timely manner and was willing to do everything I asked her to do and she did it with a smile and executed the cake beautifully! And it tasted amazing! Her butter cream is the absolute best Ive ever tasted. All our guest raved on the cake and its details. The picture does not do it justice. The icing waves were multidimensional with varying shades of blue. Just gorgeous. I will 100% be purchaseing all our cakes and cupcakes from How Sweet It Is.
I ordered a baseball themed birthday cake from How Sweet It Is Cake Studio this past Saturday. I was a little bit nervous because the cake was for my sons 9th birthday and I had never used this bakery before. I was so very pleased with the order! The cake was decorated beautifully - there were actually two cakes...one cake was the back of a uniform with my sons name and age listed - and the other shaped like a baseball. The cakes were not only wonderfully decorated, they also tasted amazing! They were a real hit! The staff was also super friendly and professional and even followed-up with me. I will be a return customer for sure!

I always have a great experience with this bakery. Their desserts do have real taste, not just plain sugar sweetness. It’s the only place in town where I buy cupcakes, since they are very rich, but the cream is not too heavy - my favorites are chocolate, strawberry and lime. And definitely try the guava pastellitos, they are so good!
She did an outstanding job on my sons birthday cakes! I told her what I wanted and gave her the room to be creative and she did not disappoint! Our baby shower cake (basic vanilla with buttercream icing) was delicious and absolutely beautiful. The design was a surprise to the mom-to-be, and she was thrilled with the result.The owner and I handled everything through email, and despite technology challenges with getting photos to send properly, everything worked out perfectly!I would absolutely use How Sweet It Is again for future desserts.

I ordered a cake for my Grandmother’s 76th birthday celebration and it was AMAZING! Mrs.Chari is very sweet! The customer service is awesome! I am indecisive at times and Mrs.Chari had suggestions ready and helped me choose the best cake! She made a beautiful custom cake topper for the cake as well on very short notice! How Sweet It Is cake Studio made ordering wifes 40th birthday cake very easy. The cake was gorgeous and tasted fantastic. Even with Hurricane Irma bearing down on Columbus and a lobby full of relatives, Chari remained courteous and professional. I cannot recommend How Sweet It Is enough!
So, I ordered a three tier cake for my wife’s birthday and the best part about this bakery is that they deliver. The cake was NOT good, the fondant was too thick and had holes in it and the strawberries were running. The cake was not moist it was so dry, I was hoping for the best and got the worst.
Chari the owner is nothing short of amazing. She is very attentive to her customers at all times. Shes professional, helpful and provides suggestions to give you the best for your money. I sent her the design I wanted and she gave it to me just as pictured. The cakes and cupcakes are delicious. I will be using her for my personal use as well as sending my clients to her.

I have had three things so far from this bakery, a piece of wedding cake which started my addiction, a cupcake that was perfectly baked, and a really great Cream Cheese pastry. This is definitely my go-to bakery now in Columbus, and anyone who says that Gigis Cupcakes are good will be kindly redirected by me to How Sweet it Is Bakery!!! The cupcakes here have an equal cupcake to icing ratio rather than piles of icing and are always moist ♡
I can not say enough good things about Chari and her amazing cakes. A month out from my party date, I found a picture on Pinterest of the cake I wanted. I talked to several cake studios in town, and each one told me that they did not do fondant. Not only could they not do what I wanted, but they did not even offer any ideas on what they could do. I remembered hearing about How Sweet It Is from a photographer and decided to message her on Facebook. She responded very quickly, and her customer service was great. She fit me into her schedule and told me that she could make the cake I wanted. The cake was truly amazing! It matched the picture, and the taste was even better. Everyone at the party loved the cake, and I got so many compliments.

Not only were they able to accommodate my request for a cake for that weekend, they responded with a great sizing reference to help me determine cake size for my crowd. They also helped with finding photos to capture exactly what I was looking for. The cake was more perfect looking than the picture and the taste was just as perfect. Loved our 4th of July Daughters 1st Birth Right Cakes. First off coming back to the country I thought it would be hard to find a baker here. I was so pleased with the professionalism and humor. Also due to holiday I didnt think we could have a cake close to her birthday but boom she had her cake and a personal delivery. So as I type this, Im eating a piece of my daughters baby shower cake that I purchased this morning from Chari at How Sweet It Is!!When I tell you that this is the best cake Ive ever had wait... I am really not doing it justice.. this cake is just amazing!My favorite thing in this world is birthday cake... Im actually really picky about cake... this cake is just over the top, over the moon, make you want to slap your grandma good!! lolI should say I ordered a cake from her mid September requesting an alien head shape she nailed it it was better than what I asked for and it tasted amazing so of course at the same time I ordered my daughters baby shower cake and it just exceeded any expectations I had. (I should be ashamed, but Im NOT) my daughter asked if she could take the remaining cake home.... I refused, insisting instead that she only get half because I NEEDED the other half LOLIt just seems she gets better and better. Im already trying to come up with another reason to have her bake a cake LOL.

Just want to give a big shout out to How Sweet It Is!! I was searching for someone to do a pineapple shaped cake for me and had never used HSII. Soooo I contacted them and boy am I glad I did. The cake turned out perfect. The cake was so good and the icing was fluffy and just the right taste. Not to sweet. Also, the price was alot, and I mean alot, cheaper than a couple of other shops that I had contacted. From now on I will be using How Sweet It Is. Thank You sooooo much!!!
The strawberry shortcake and coconut cupcakes are DELICIOUS!!! I love the fluffiness of the icing used on them, it doesnt overpower the taste of the cupcake itself. The brownies are to die for as well!!! LOVED IT!

2022-01-15Absolutely love Chari and How Sweet It Is! We have been using them from the day they opened their doors. These are a few of the cakes she’s done for us the past 2 years (I have them going back at least 7 years), including a cake to celebrate the completion of chemotherapy for my daughter. From birthday cakes to baby showers and everything else in between she has exceeded every expectation. And her icing is to die for! She communicates with you to make sure everything was perfect and works hard to make sure your order is amazing! I highly recommend her!

2022-01-21I love Chari and her bakery How Sweet It Is Cake studio! She did an awesome job on my sons 18th birthday cake as well as my 50th birthday cake this month! Must try her Pina Colada and her Strawberry Daiquiri cakes! Very moist and full of great flavor! She also makes the best Tres Leches cakes that my son absolutely loves in both vanilla and chocolate flavors. She definitely has our business as long as she is open! Highly recommend!

2021-06-05My cake was a-m-a-zing! It was delicious and beautiful! It was 3 tiers: chocolate, java chip, and panetela borracha. The flavors were not too sweet, the cake was soft, and the fondant was excellent. Usually fondant is rubbery and not that tasty, but her recipe is on point. Thank you Ms. Pitts you made this day very special for me!

2019-05-22We ordered a custom cake for my husbands promotion ceremony and ordered a custom flavor that was not on the websites list (chocolate with a hint of cinnamon) and it came out deliciously! HSIICS was great to work with, they listened to our design ideas and were very responsive and easy to work with. The finished product was beautiful and delicious. Everyone loved it and we actually had none left! Highly recommended!
