I love living at the Ikon at Athens! The units are very spacious and updated and a furniture package is available. (My favorite part is my huge walk-in closet!) You definitely get your money’s worth, especially with all the amenities such as the great pool, fitness center, free printing, and night-life shuttle. Finally, the office staff is absolutely wonderful and are always doing fun giveaways and contests through the year! Overall, a great place to live!
The Ikon is a great apartment complex! The units have a lot of space, and I love the style of the community. The staff has really improved this past semester- they are very prompt and helpful! The first floor of my unit tends to be on the cold side (compared to how the heat feels upstairs), but thats really my only complaint.
My daughter has lived at Ikon for the past year and she has absolutely loved it here! She has decided to stay another year. The house and especially the bedrooms are very spacious. The staff is always very helpful and they always keep us in the loop of whats going on. The amenities here are great. The maintenance staff is very helpful and quick to fix any problems she has had. There is also a shuttle that will take residents downtown and back home on the weekends. I would recommend Ikon to anyone looking for a clean, safe and at-home environment.
This is my first year at Ikon and it’s been nothing but amazing. The people who work at the front office truly care about your experience here and make sure you feel like you’re truly at home. The macitence team is awesome and they come within the day of or the next day. The pool is so nice as well as the gym. Having a study area upstairs in the club house is super nice and useful; mac books, free printing and coffee always. Having the gate closed makes me feel so safe. This place is nothing compared to where I lived last year (Athens Ridge). Ikon has exceeded my expectations and truly makes me feel safe and at home.I will 100% be living here until I graduate. I love this place. Feels like a true home.
I love living at ikon! The staff is so friendly. Every time I walk outside they wave and say hello! I have never lived at an apartment complex where I have felt so loved! There have been so many opportunities to meet other residents. The units are spacious and if we ever have a problem someone fixes it right away! I can’t wait to live there another year! Best apartment complex ever!!
I have loved living at Ikon! The bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets are all very spacious. Every Tuesday and Thursday the leasing office has continental breakfast. This has become very convenient when on the way to class. I have already signed my lease for next year because I love Ikon so much.
I was going to wait until move out to write a review but at this point I’ve absolutely had it with Ikon. If you are thinking of moving here, don’t. It’s unfortunate because the housing is nice and spacious and the amenities are great so there really is so much potential. Unfortunately, all of that is over shadowed by the ridiculously poor management. They recently changed management companies which I thought would help, but they chose to keep the same staff leaving the same problems.Good luck getting ahold of anyone when you have a problem. The phones are often off and it can be very hard to reach anyone. I’ve had countless phone calls unreturned as well. With COVID they shut down all amenities and are just now beginning to open them back up. You need to make an appointment to use the gym which would be fine if there weren’t very few appointments available or if the phones actually worked when you called to make one.I am not one to leave reviews at all, let alone bad ones but there are some serious issues with Ikon that need to be addressed. They do not care about the safety of residents. They leave the gate broken, do not inform residents of break ins, and leave the phones off making it impossible to get ahold of anyone during an emergency.Oh, and any good reviews you see are probably just because they offer a gift card drawing to those who leave a 5-star reviews. For the rent you pay here you are much better off spending the extra few hundred dollars a month and living somewhere downtown with better management.
I love living at Ikon! It is filled with the cutest little town homes, each a different color. I live in a 3 bedroom and the downstairs consists of a full kitchen, living room, storage closet (very useful), laundry room, pantry, half-bath. My room is the perfect size and each room has its own bathroom. The pool is very nice and has a hot tub with TV screens outside to watch the game. I use the workout room frequently and the equipment is nice. Upstairs of the clubhouse has a study room where there is free printing and paper, computers, snacks, coffee, tea, etc. It gets a little chilly up there so bring a sweater or blanket to study. There is also a room to do yoga or spin classes upstairs. The sand volleyball court and dog park is also really nice! The complex also offers a bus to go downtown Thursday through Saturday from 10:30pm-2:30am which is extremely convenient. Athens Transit picks up in front of the complex to go to campus, but I wish Ikon offered their own bus to campus. Ikon is an overall great place to live, the community is so fun, and the staff is very quick to fix any maintenance issues and genuinely wants to make your experience living here great! I highly recommend living here :)
I wanted to love Ikon, but never again! My first few months there, there was always roaches downstairs in the common living area, some days it was bad some days it was okay. Maintenance would come and “fix” whatever needed to be fixed, but it really was still broke (my toilet). Staff takes forever to respond to emails and you get lucky if there is a response. And for final move out we were charged for something that was already broken when we moved in and called maintenance to fix it of course, and they didn’t. I personally do not recommend living at Ikon, it’s not worth it.
Moving into Ikon my sophomore year was one of the best decisions my friends and I could have ever made. The rooms are bigger than all the other apartments we looked at and it’s nice being in the the town home feel with a nice kitchen and great living room. I also love having my own space but only being a few doors down from all my friends. The workout room and upstairs study lounge is awesome and soo convenient!! The front desk are so nice and the insta is always up to date with whats going on.
There is only one good thing about ikon and it is the maintenance, they respond quickly and are very friendly when they come to answer a request. Other than that, the staff at Ikon is nice but they do not ever have any information. Half the time you cannot even get anyone in the front office to answer the phone. I have lived here since August, it is currently February and all of the amenities are still closed other than the gym which is only open from the hours of 11-4 and you have to schedule an appointment for their set times. I have asked many times to be flexible with the schedule- lets say I need to go at 11am and be done by 11:45 but they only have a time slot for 11:30-12:30...they are not accommodating, they will not allow you in. This is an apartment complex for college students who have crazy class schedules which mostly consume the middle of the day-which is the only time Ikon has appointments available for the gym. I understood not opening everything right away after move in due to COVID, but now they are using it as an excuse to keep everything closed to make life easier for them. Every other apartment complex in Athens has all amenities open to residents 24/7. The staff at Ikon also will not reach out to corporate on behalf of the residents complaints instead they tell us to do it and do not even have a name for us to reach out to. They also have not communicated the two break ins which happened this month. One of which being my friend who lives here- got his car stolen, PS5 and Xbox. All of which Ikon did not help with or let any of the residents know this was happening. Overall very disappointing when we pay so much money and do not get to use any of the things we pay for except our own units. Even though upon move in we signed a COVID waiver....
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE. My roommates and I have just signed to live here for our senior year and I couldn’t be more thrilled. The homes are incredible, they have so many cool and different amenities, and the staff is so helpful and supportive! They really care about their tenants and always are ready to listen and answer any questions. Special shout out to my girl Tiffany for being the best property manager I’ve ever encountered! She has given me multiple tours because I keep coming back to see Ikon and she’s always so happy to see me! When I walked out after signing, she gave me a big hug and was as excited as I am that I will be living here!! Thank you for everything, Tiffany, you have helped so much and I owe you for taking away all my rooming stress for next year! If you are looking for a good place in Athens, LIVE HERE!!!!!! ❤️
EXCELLENT HOUSING FOR ALL!! I have been a resident at the Ikon for 3 years now and every year I see improvements being made. The staff continue to strive to create the best living experience for their residents. I was driving out of the gate the other day and had two staff members waving at me. It is those small friendly gestures that make living at the Ikon so enjoyable. If this review doesnt align with what youve been told in the past I promise that they have truly rebranded and this is in fact where you want to live!!
Ikon is such a beautiful place! The apartments have lots of room and the community areas are so nice. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to live there due to personal circumstances so I needed to relet my apartment and the leasing manager, Tiffany, was amazing!! She walked me through the process and had the best customer service! Highly recommend this complex solely because of how wonderful Tiffany was!
The only thing I would complain about at Ikon is the fact that whatever company they use to process fees is super slow. I had an unnecessary fee on my account for weeks because of the corporate office, but thats not the desk workers fault. However, the staff here are really nice! Tiffany is always nice to me, and she treated my grandparents very well when they came up to visit. The gym is great in my opinion! I absolutely love my room, closet, and kitchen. Also, I wouldnt listen to the people complaining about bugs. I have seen quite a few bugs since moving in, but ikon offers extermination for free. And honestly, a can of Raid has worked fairly well to keep the bugs at bay.
The best place for Athens students to live is Ikon!! The staff is so friendly and willing to work with you with whatever you may need, and it truly is a neighborhood feel with so many of your friends and classmates living in the same place. Not only that, but the amenities are unmatched compared to any other Athens living arrangement. With walk in closets, everyone getting their own bathrooms, in unit washer/dryer, full kitchen, pool and gym at the clubhouse, etc., you truly cant beat living in Ikon!!
Here are my thoughts bout living at Ikon. I had a run in with the management when I first moved in. there were a couple of maintenance issues and they took too long to fix them. Maybe the staff was over their heads bc it was move-in but that’s not an excuse in my book. Since this summer though they seem to have gotten their act together. Last week I needed them to fix our door and they came out the same day. Our friends that live here also agree that things have definitely improved. Other than the maintenance issues we had when we first moved in, I don’t have any complaints and really like living here. The apartments are nice and a good size. The pool and clubhouse are incredible in my opinion. Lots of people hanging out and friendly vibe from everyone. It’s not the cheapest place to live but it’s MUCH nicer than the cheaper places. There are also a lot of places more expensive thank Ikon but they aren’t any better in my opinion. Bottom line, I don’t give Ikon an A+ but it’s a better place to live than anywhere else I’ve been able to find.
Living at IKON for the last year has been a great experience. The amenities are well-maintained, the neighborhood is quiet (which can be hard to find so close to campus), and the staff is fantastic. I can always expect a fun conversation and warm smile from Tiffany, Adrianna, and Alexia! They really seem to care about us not only as residents, but as people ☺️
I love living at IKON for so many reasons. The first being the staff is very friendly, always willing to help and offering food. Their location is very convenient, a short drive to campus and close Publix, Kroger and Aldi. The apartments are super cute on the outside as well on the inside. The living space is very spacious and has updated appliances. My closet and room are both great sizes and I love having my own bathroom. Excited to continue living here.
Ikon is GREAT! I have been here for a couple of years now, and have never had a single issue. Below is everything I like (theres literally nothing bad). The staff is always so friendly, and they know everybodys names. They make it obvious that they actually care about you and your happiness.First, lots of the reviews are complaining about the gate being broken, but its broken because people keep trying to ram their cars through the closed gates! The gates cost like thousands of dollars to fix and take a long time to get back up and runningI live in a 2 bedroom house. I have a 10x15 room, and a giant living room and a big kitchen. I love how spacious everything is! I would much rather have all this space than like a 8x6 room downtown at the same price.I really enjoy the concrete flooring downstairs. Its so easy to clean up spills and messes. The pool is amazing and there are always people there. You can bring alcohol too as long as its not in glass containers. They have a super nice leasing office thats always open. It has free printing and coffee and is a great place to study. They also serve free breakfast Tuesdays and Thursdays!Someone tried to break into my house the other night, and in the morning, the staff called a meeting with my roommate and I. They asked what they could do to make us feel more safe and comfortable and were geuinely so nice about it! Mantenance came out later that day and did everything I asked for! I really feel safe here.I seriously cannot say enough that maintence is amazing! They almost always fix issues the same day you tell them about them. They also have an emergency line to fix issues if its after hours.Prior to living at Ikon, I lived at The Station off Milledge (Landmark Proporties) for a year. Let me list a couple issues I had with Landmark (to show how much worse things could be than having Ikons gate broken sometimes)! Most landmark properties do not have a model home to give tours. So, Landmark can give tours of your home whenever they want without asking you!One time, our front door fell off (idk) and we had to get someone else to fix it because maintence wouldnt come out for four days. Our dryer would shred our clothes sometimes (again, idk), and maintence could not fix it or give us a new dryerThey tried to move a 60+ year old woman into our house (we were all in our 20s) and assumed it would be fine with us, even though we had picked out a girl our age to move in that they had already approved. I guess they forgot we had someone else moving in? Again, idk!Baically, Ikon is literally angellic and I dont think theres anywhere better to live in Athens. Living elsewhere where my needs/safety/comfort was not a priority has made me really appreciate Ikon. Bottom line is that everybody is always so nice and welcoming here, the rent is fair, the property is well-maintanced, and I have never had an issue. I promise, you wont regret living here!
I have lived here for four years and I wouldnt have wanted to live anywhere else. The pool, gym, and tanning is so nice and everyone in the office is always willing to help with whatever problem you have. Especially the maintenance, they are very helpful and want to get whatever issue in the house fixed as quick as they can. It makes it very enjoyable!
I love this complex. I bounced around to different apartment complexes for my first two years at school and this is by far my favorite. Not only are the apartments unique compared to other complexes in Athens, but the rent is VERY reasonable considering the modernity of the home and the amenities included. The pool is to die for, the tanning bed is easily accessible, and the gym is open 24/7. I plan on living here during law school because I really cannot see myself living anywhere else. The front desk people are so kind and willing to work with you on absolutely anything, and the maintenance crew fix requests right away. The location is also great because downtown is less than 5 minutes away, and Barnett Shoals has plenty of grocery stores and food options. You are making a mistake if you dont live here.
So far, I love living here. Some people complain about the price, but you really get a lot for what youre paying. The amenities are great and really give you a fun college vibe. The office and maintenance staff are always willing to help and are very attentive. All in all a great place to live.
I love living here! Great staff, facilities, and a nice place to live. Ms. Tiffany is a very caring and motherly figure here and makes everyone feel welcome! Justin is the maintenance guy who always fixes things in a timely fashion and is always willing to help!! I highly suggest living here.
This is an honest and unbiased review that I believe is an accurate depiction of what living at the Ikon is like. There are many pros to living at the ikon, such as:1. Aesthetically pleasing2. Large living space3. Constant yard work and clean up around the complex and the swimming pool4. Great interior design, especially for a student apartment5. Very affordable for everything you get6. Decent gym7. Great staff. They are very nice and always willing to work with you.The Ikon itself is a great place to live and you truly get more than you pay for. However, there is a very crucial flaw that can’t go unnoticed by future residents that I MUST stress. This issue has been a hindrance throughout my leasing term and made me reconsider whether or not I should continue my lease for the next year.1. SAFETY2. NoiseI understand there is little that the staff is able to do in terms of ensuring apartment safety, however it seems as though the Ikon is a magnet for trespassers, thieves and excessive parties. The apartment gates have been broken for about 80-90% of this past leasing year and to my knowledge maintenance has been working on the issue, but I feel like it’s often pushed to the side. There have been many trespassers that flood parking spaces during football games, the weekends to party and to use the pool. Ive found myself without parking or even unable to maneuver the streets because of cars blocking the roads! Unfortunately, nothing is done about the parking issues and the parking passes are completely pointless, because no parking rule is ever enforced. Also, the Ikon pool is advertised on Social media platforms such as Facebook as a “free and always open” swimming pool by non-residents. I’ve seen children and families walking from their homes to the Ikon to swim. I’ve stayed up forced to listen to non-residents swimming and yelling at the pool from 9PM-3AM on weekdays. The wristbands or tags to prevent non-residents from being able to swim in the pool are useless as well. There is no effort taken to prevent people who shouldn’t be here from being here. There have been many fights outside of my unit, screaming and several resident’s vehicles have been broken into. I constantly smell cannabis throughout the complex as well. Unfortunately, because safety is the #1 thing I look for, I must honestly say that the Ikon does not take enough preventative measures to ensure resident satisfaction in such area. Aside from actively looking for and calling to tow vehicles without parking passes, kicking people out of the pool who don’t have the ikon wristband or tag, kicking trespassers out of the complex and ensuring the gates functionality, there’s not much else the staff can do (unfortunately, even the fundamental safety precautions I listed aren’t tended to). Unless these issues are resolved in the next leasing term, I would not recommend living here for those who are concerned about safety and noise.
I just moved in to the Ikon this fall and have had a great experience so far. We made numerous maintenance requests and they were all completed within one day. When we first moved we spotted a few insects but after notifying the staff they came and sprayed the apartment for free, which stopped the problem. Finally in glad the stared closing the gate especially since gameday is right around the corner, its nice to know that your spot will be there when you get back. Look forward to the rest of this year and future years at Ikon.
Awful experience with management. We signed a lease with this community and we also paid a pet deposit of $500.00 of which only $250.00 was refundable. We NEVER moved into the apartment, we got a sub lease. They would not refund my $250.00. They told me it was for cleaning the apartment. We NEVER moved into the apartment so why is my money being kept. Anthony the manager could care less. So I told him that’s why they invented social media. Here’s my advise. Before you move anything in make sure you walk the apartment and make sure it is clean. We had to actually clean it. It was dirty from the previous tenant.
This is my second year living at Ikon and if it wasn’t for me graduating I would renew! The staff has always been so friendly and attentive to their residents needs. The pool is great, gated community, and spacious living area! I would recommend to anyone trying to find a great place to live while you’re in school!
Ive lived here for two years now and I absolutely love it! The staff is so sweet and very helpful. So many apartment complexes have issues with maintenance and security but I have never had to wait longer than a day for someone to respond to a work order, and since we are a gated community I also feel safe and at home!
The Ikon has not concern for their renter at all. I called and informed them 2 weeks before moving in I had a pet allergies so my apartment would need to be deep cleaned and the carpet wouldn’t need replacing (the previous tenant had three cats). Upon my arrival the carpet had NOT been changed and the apartment hadn’t been cleaned at all. My fellow roommate and I called and complained and they managed to come change our carpet after 4 days. Because of this I had a massive allergy attack due to the pet dander. I went to the doctor and gave the Ikon my bill and they claim they have no reason to pay for it. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I do not recommend ANYONE moving here.
I lived here for a year and this is a 100% honest review.Things I liked: my roommate, the apartment I had. I will say, the apartments are very nice and spacious. Everything is updated. The kitchen is probably the best part. The pool/amenities were nice. I like how they had a dog park. Location is decent. Youre close to downtown/campus, theres a movie theater across the street, and a Publix shopping center a few miles down the road.Things I didnt like: management wasnt the best, although I rarely spoke with them. The neighborhood had constant noise and trash in the parking lot. I understand its a college complex and thats what you get, but at times it could get a little ridiculous. The apartment I lived in was dirty upon moving in. We had a very bad ant problem in the kitchen because whoever lived there before were absolute pigs. During football season, good luck trying to find a place to park. All in all, my experience here wasnt the best, but wasnt the worst.
Homes are nice and spacious! There is so much room to have people over. The staff really listens to your concerns and you feel like youre being heard. Maintenance requests are usually taken care of the same day. The front gate makes the community feels safe and secure. I would recommend this neighborhood to everyone !
Moved here from Lawrenceville in August, love it. Staff is always friendly and try to engage the community as much as possible with events, complementary breakfast, unlimited Starbucks coffee/printing, etc., and shout out to Jacob for being really vocal to residents about suggestions/trying to improve the amenities. Maintenance quickly fixed up all the problems I had when I moved in and they respond faster than the management in my previous leases. Very spacious floorplans, shuttle bus is awesome, good vibes overall. I would definitely recommend The Ikon.
I just re-signed today with leasing specialist, Tiffany Taylor. I could not have had a better experience. She is precious and very accomadating. This upcoming August will be my 4th year living here. I stayed in a 3 bedroom unit the first 2 years and am currently in a 4 bedroom. Every year the staff has been so helpful and Ive had no problems at all.The units are very spacious and clean. The maintenence gets the work done usually within 24 hours. I have loved the location and it takes me less than 10 minutes to get to North Campus.Highly highly recommend.
I just signed my lease for 2020 and couldnt be more excited to live here! The staff was incredibly helpful with everything and so sweet. I have only heard good reviews about this place and they do so much for their residents! Definitely the best place to live in Athens!
Awful. Dont be lured in by the cute appearance of ikon. Its one of the most expensive places to live in Athens, but all you get is a spacious living area (the bedrooms are tiny, however). Ikon is an unsafe place to live--constant crime from the inside and outside. The amenities, although beautiful, are rarely functional. The awesome concept of a shuttle is useless due to the shuttle never actually being functional. The gate is always broken, and its always at least a month before it gets fixed. Management is rude and unprofessional, and not trained properly to handle any issues that come up. Side note-although its great to have a pet friendly complex, this comes at the expense of your sense of smell. You will constantly smell dog waste since college kids rarely choose to clean up after their pets.
My husband and I and our two sons went to Ikon on Saturday. We were so impressed that our sons signed a lease for next fall. My sons have both been living in two different very expensive, small apartments downtown for the last three years. What a waste of money. The Ikon is larger, nicer and much more affordable!. Jacob Garza the leasing manager is great.
Shelby has gone out of her way to help me figure out my lease. They have called me to make sure everything was to my liking. Shelby even checked over my lease to make sure everything was perfect and called me to check over it one more time to make sure I was happy. The staff at the Ikon is outstanding. I couldnt be happier so far.
This place sucks. Dont let the nice looking pool fool you, it floods and gets muddy every time it rains and even though its a gated community, outside people come and trash the area anyway. The gym equipment is either in poor condition or missing but I guess it works. The shuttle is unpredictable with timing (provided its actually running). One of the worst parts is the cockroach issue. Ive had so many bugs in this house even though Ive sprayed and I do not keep food in my room. When a cockroach falls on my pillow, thats where I draw the line. Im over this place and cant wait to move out. The management changes a lot so if you have an issue, good luck getting it resolved!Edit: The maintenance team is good. Theyre friendly, helpful, and usually pretty quick.
Before you consider moving here you need to know you cannot do a sublet, you must do a re-let which are almost IMPOSSIBLE to do because of Ikons strict policies, and if you are able to re-let you have to pay a $250 fee. Also their lease is the longest lease I have ever seen, 30 pages long. Three months ago I almost rented a room at Ikon. I asked management how difficult was it to sublet your lease and they said, Oh its really easy to sublet and people do it all the time. LIES! I did not move in because I had some last minute life changes but came back later to move in. I found someone who wanted to sublet their lease, that is when I found that Ikon doesnt do sublets, they only allow for re-lets which meant I had to take over this persons entire lease and their name wouldnt be on it anymore. I made an agreement to take over this persons lease and even signed a lease. Tommy (employee of Ikon) said he would get back with me the next day with where they would place me (they were not going to put me in the same room as the persons lease I was taking over). And Jacob (another employee of IKON) said he was very confident they would find a good fit for me. They didnt get back to me until several days later only to find out they could not place me in a room because I have a dog (they knew the entire time I have a dog). Management is totally incompetent. They did not find out if there was a room for me before I signed the lease and before making the person whose lease I was taking over pay a $250 re-let fee. Ikons management even had to audacity to ask if I could get rid of my dog so I could move in. Ikons management wasted a lot of my time and I had to scramble to find a different place to move into at the last minute. On one last note, during one of my visits, there were several people in the lobby angry that their cars had been towed on game day, which made me weary. Apparently they had a new policy that all residents had to put a parking permit on their car, or else their car would be towed. Im not impressed by a management willing to tow their own residents cars. Find a different place to move into if you dont want management that treats you like crap.
I LOVE IKON!!! I have lived here for 2 years and just signed for my 3rd!! Whether it’s the amazing staff, the safe cozy neighborhood, or any of the many amenities we are given you truly will find your place and comfort here at ikon. I can’t imagine leaving and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!!!
I leased this place on behalf of my daughter. Set aside the fact that their office has remained closed a great portion of the time and the weekend before they are required to be out of the apartment, and set aside the fact that corporate representative, Jeremy, was rude to my daughter when she called about dropping off her key and getting a walk through, these people do whatever they want to do in spite of what the lease says. The lease states that if you dont schedule a walk thru when moving out, then you agree to their assessment of any damages. In spite of our repeated efforts to schedule a physical walk thru, Ms. Atkins absolutely refused to do a physical walk through much less schedule one hiding behind the excuse that they are just trying to keep residents safe. Dont rely on their lease to protect you. Beware of this apartment complex. I would never let my daughter live here again.
If I could give zero stars I would! The management doesnt do anything if you have a problem with a roommate unless they work there. Dog poop every where outside. Never any parking spaces near your house especially on the weekends. I have emailed Jacob multiple times he never responds, but that goes right back to they dont care if you have a problem unless you work for them.I will say that the maintenance guys are super nice.
This is definitely one of the nicest places i’ve ever lived. The staff is always there for you when needed, and you never have to worry about something not being handled. The rooms are nice and the people that they match you with fit your personality well. Overall it is a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone!
The services from a administration, work order for repairs and security are sub par. Most of the positive reviews are from young adult students that have no point of reference of what good service should be who arent actually paying their on rent. I found the service as a paying parent to be horrible. The drive in security gate is hardly ever closed the external gates for pedestrian arent secured. The maintenance for work orders require several attempts. PARENTS I would strongly reconsider choosing this this place to house my child. Its also very difficult/risky to pull out of the community on to the main street. One person has been killed at that location in the last year.
I have only lived here for a month but so far it’s been pretty good. The units are very nice but that is expected for the price. Really my only complaint is that we have gotten two notices for having boxes on our porch where our trash goes. They expect you to put all of your trash in bags so that they can be taken, but how am I supposed to put a box in a trash bag? For the money i pay here, they should be able to take boxes to the dumpster as well. I shouldn’t have to rip apart a box and waste a trash bag just so they can take it to the dumpster. Overall the amenities are very nice and it’s a great place to live though!
Has not been a pleasant experience as my roommates and I are treated with disrespect from the office. When an issue arrises the only thing their brains can think of is fine us college students as if we arent already paying $700 a month for the cheapest shack of a house. Also we have had a water leak that was supposed to be dealt with three month ago that is still being investigated.....how hard is it to call a professional inspector? smh recommend 1/10
IKON at Athens sets the bar high for student housing. Absolutely awesome staff and management. Top notch maintenance team as well which is a rarity to find anywhere, led by Jeremy Deckard. Their lead Maintenance tech Justin Smith is an expert in the highest regard. The word professional is an understatement. Cant beat the service and the area in proximity to everything awesome that Ath has to offer. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone.
Have lived in this place since it was built. New management came in after the first year and things started getting bad around the second. Simply put the new management is rude and unfit for the job (besides the maintenance guys). Everyone I know in the neighborhood has had a negative run-in with the management at some point. The hot tub, multiple gym machines, printer, computers, the pool, the bus ect. ect. are always broken. The houses and appliances are poorly built and will break, which the management will then charge you for upon leaving. The only positive is the pool which they manage to keep going for a decent amount of time. I would give it 4 stars if all the amenities magically fixed themselves and the management somehow became better at their jobs, but I know that will never happen.
I live here at the ikon and I arrived home from work at 4 AM and there is not a single parking space and cars are parked illegally everywhere. I call their maintenance/after hours service and she basically tells me I’m out of luck and she can send a message over but it’s 4:37 AM and here I am sitting in my car when I have a place to live! I will never resign here!
AVOID LIVING HERE!! The front desk management is absolutely the worst I ever had to deal with! I was told in March I was unable to resign my lease at ikon bc the 3 bedrooms were sold out, so I signed a lease to live in a 4 bedroom unit and they told me on August 1st right before school starts that the people decided to resign and they kicked me out of my lease and told me they will find me another place. THEY NEVER DID.Now Im taking a whole semester off in my senior due to not having a place to live. IKON is the WORST MANAGEMENT/Staff in Athens
As a parent whos daughter and friend lives at IKON I want to know why the gate has not been working?? This community comes with a remote to open the gate that remains open!! And let me add that there was no keurig as advertised! On another note there is a big problem with parking as many who dont reside there come and take up the parking with no pass. These issues have been brought up on several occassions and nothing has been done!!
Be warned! they bribe people with prizes if they leave good reviews. shows just how desperate they are for good ratings because they falsely advertise. They post these contests allover their facebook page. bet they werent expecting people to give their honest opinion.

2021-09-22Living at ikon is so ~luxurious~ absolutely NOT! look at how disgusting our pool is, it literally looks like a swamp. this is so ridiculous. I can’t believe we spend the money we do to live here and this is how our property is treated. I would love for the explanation as to why our pool is left to be this untreated to the point that the entire pool is green. I am also extremely upset that in the 13 months I have lived here I have yet to take a step on the Ikon bus. This was an amenity that was shown off to us on our tour and promised to drive us downtown on the weekends. The bus has yet to run and there has been no signs of it going to run in the near future, it is now hidden behind houses. Every time this topic is mentioned to management they say they’ll speak to the head lady, but refuse to allow you to contact her yourself. I am beginning to believe that she does not exist. ALSO, there is zero security in this complex. Yes we have a gate, but it is very easy to get into and there has been many car break-ins as well as HOUSE break-ins that the management decided to keep secret. They do not care about our safety. I feel bad for anyone that signs a lease in the future. I really hope they aren’t giving tours right now with a green pool standing out in the very front of the neighborhood. Do not live at Ikon if you are considering it, the nice house isn’t worth it.

2022-03-30Ikon at Athens is a great neighborhood! The staff is very helpful and there are lots of great amenities to chose from. I would highly recommend Ikon for anyone who is interested in living just far enough away from UGA!

2022-03-29Very pleasant and knowledgeable office staff. Gym equipment is always well maintained and ready for use, and the lounge/study areas upstairs are also top-notch.

2020-08-18A great property held back by management.Don’t believe most of their reviews. They run “contests” which require you to write a positive review for them to be entered to win. I lived in Ikon for FIVE years so strap in folks here is an honest review of a former resident. The property was fantastic in 2014 when I first moved in and almost no up keep or reinvestment in the property has happened since. Paint on the houses is chipping and faded, pool area has MOLD on the lounge chairs, each treadmill is broken in its own special way, coffee machine is always broken or out of coffee, the gate breaks often and will take MONTHS to fix, grass is cut every two weeks, volleyball net is shredded, Oh and they will steal residents personal water to pressure wash the sidewalk even though they have a container to use their own water. But now lets talk about your actual unit: Paint is done VERY sloppily, when I moved I noticed they fixed a baseball sized hole in the wall with painter tape and just painted over it. Paint sprayed or dropped on counter, floors, and cabinets. SMOKE DETECTERS on the main level are unplugged with the battery removed. (put in 6 maintenance requests about this) The detectors downstairs have a 5 year life span and then chirp till replaced, instead of replacing them they unplugged them. This is in violation of ACC FIRE CODE. Unit was not cleaned on move in, sink was clogged, stain on porch. When I requested the sink be unclogged the maintenance person was mad an accused ME of “breaking the law by putting grease in the drain” when it was like that on move in. Oh and they tried to charge me $50 for pressure washing the stain off the porch that was there when I moved in. (I actually cleaned it myself and it looks better than the photo attached) Fridge leaked from ice maker, got under hardwood and mold grew, they said they would replace it and clean the MOLD but they did NOT. Back door locks do not work... put in 7 maintenance request each was closed - part ordered. However I talked to a new maintenance person right before I moved out about it and he said oh it just needs programming Ill fix it.... So I couldnt use my back door for 4.75 years because they were too lazy to program it.Don’t worry about emailing them, unless its a legal threat or you’re signing a lease they won’t respond. Calling them results in them saying “someone will call you back” but they wont.Oh their property policies might as well not exist, they don’t enforce any of them. Pool is open to anyone, they don’t kick people out, post picture of pets in the pool on Instagram, on game days when parking is full they won’t tow those without Parking passes. The only policy they’ve enforced is they tried to charge me for having trash on my porch… even though I didn’t.It really did used to be a great property, then the staff changed a few years ago and now they are all about doing the minimum. Talked to a previous employee who disclosed some employees get cash bonuses if they were under their budget, which is why nothing is maintained.we love our residents is only true if you never have a problem and nothing breaks in your unit, otherwise youre an inconvenience.

2022-06-30The security is very bad. The contract you would sign for the lease claims that anyones safety is not there responsibility. The front gate is always broken and maintenance takes a long time to come help.

2022-03-05Dont be fooled by the gate. if you choose to live here, make sure you factor in the price of comprehensive car insurance since cars are broken into on a regular basis. the office only cares about money, not safety.

2019-11-04I’ve loved living at Ikon for the last two years! It’s spacious, comfortable, and clean. I’ve loved the neighborhood and how social it is. The staff is always super friendly and willing to do whatever they can to help! Maintenance is also very friendly and quick to respond to all issues; it usually takes about a day or for them to get out to us. I love the amenities such as the pool (the best place to hang during the summer), the gym, and the study spaces in the clubhouse. If I wasn’t graduating I’d be living there for the rest of my college experience! We love Ikon!

2019-11-14This is my first semester at Ikon and I love it! It is great community to live in and the pool was so much fun when it was warm outside. The house I live in is very spacious. I love my room and love my HUGE closet. The downstairs is very big for when we have friends over. The Ikon staff are always so sweet and always there to help. I would recommend anyone to live here.

2019-11-17If you’re going to college for college, this isn’t the place for you. They advertise security, the gate was broken for over five months straight. Strangest thing, cars continuously get broken in to. If you have a maintenance request, go ahead and put it in at least three months before your stuff breaks. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find a parking spot, they offer discounted rates to the swim team and they leave their mopeds strewn all over the place. Purchase noise canceling devices prior to moving in, unless you enjoy music blaring from three to 10 different units at the same time every single night. Don’t worry about that roommate compatibility questionnaire, they’re just going to cram you in with the next applicant anyways, even if you have a cat and they have a dog. Keep getting that money for nothing. Thank you Ikon for inviting me to participate in the free gift card for posting a positive review of your fabulous “Student Housing”. For the “management” that reads this save the obligatory, “If you would have come to us first” or “please call and we can discuss” responses. I probably have over 20 no response email/phone calls from the “management”. Therefore, no “excuse” will make up for it and no response will even be necessary.
