I ordered a bike online and had it delivered here for assembly. Didnt receive a reminder call on the pickup date they promised but I came by any way. Daniel and Rita were the ones helping me at the store. Im so happy with my finished bike. They even kept all the instruction booklets and small assembly tools accompanying the bike I ordered. However, they usually have to tend to many customers at a time so there might be a bit waiting, but thats totally understandable. I also bought a lock and wanted to come back for a pump and a helmet as well!
Stopped at Intown Bicycles on my recent trip home to Tennessee from Florida. Have bee wanting to take a look at the Jamis Renegade and they had some in stock. Mike is a great guy - knowledgeable about the bikes he carries and is a true bicycling enthusiast, not just a salesman. Im truly glad I stopped there and I left with a new Jamis Renegade. Great shop, great people. Thanks Mike !
Ive taken two bikes here now and I had a really good experience both times. I took a bike there after a minor accident for a crash inspection, and they only charged $35 for the inspection and deducted any repairs and maintenance from that fee. When I got my bike back I also noticed that they had adjusted the brakes and lubed the chain, two things that I assume werent part of the crash inspection but were great customer service. I took another bike there that needed significant repairs, and they were really thorough and charged a fair price for the amount of work it needed. They were also thoughtful and checked in a couple times about repairs and trying to manage the cost. Overall I was really pleased with both the work and the service, and I would definitely take a bike there in the future.
I went here to get a new set of pedals. Rita was very helpful and installed them for me. She also took the time to air up my tires. The price was maybe a bit higher than you would pay on the internet, but with the level of knowledge and customer service I received, it was well worth it. I will be back for any future bicycle related needs.
Love this shop! They were very helpful and honest in the process of buying the bike, I got what I wanted for the right price. And their repair work is great, too; my bike needed a tune-up and brake pad replacement, and I got it back the next day. Staff is very courteous and friendly, too.
TLDR: Been to Intown twice for a rear tire replacement and then for a bike tune-up. After both visits, the brakes were rubbing against the wheel (without pulling the brake handle) so I had to personally readjust them. I dont perform bike maintenance myself because I want to make sure everything is done correctly. I know they did a poor job with my brakes because the issues were obvious, but I am still not confident enough in my abilities to know that everything else was done correctly. I will be taking my bike somewhere else soon to make sure it is at least safe to ride.In two separate visits, I had my rear tire replaced (flat from a puncture) and paid for the tune-up package (includes adjusting the gears, brakes, and bearings; truing the wheels; checking all the nuts and bolts; external lube; and a wipe down). After I had my tire replaced, I had to personally readjust the rear brakes because they were sticking against the wheel (brakes rubbing wheel without pulling brake handle). This was irritating and inconvenient but not worth driving back to the shop.As for the tune-up package, my experience was bad enough where I will likely not be returning to Intown for any future products or services. I dropped my bike off on a Friday and came back in to pick it up 10 days later on a Monday. I was out of town for those 10 days, so the extended time was due to my inability to pick it up sooner. However, when I arrived on Monday to pick up my bike, they informed me that not only had my bike not been serviced yet but also they didnt have it in their computer system because it had malfunctioned recently. They informed me that they would start the tune-up immediately and it should be done by the end of the day. While I understand that computer issues are unavoidable and mistakes happen, I ride my bike to work every day because I cannot afford a parking pass at my place of employment, so this was incredibly inconvenient for me.To Intown Bicycles credit, they finished the service on my bike in 3 hours. Unfortunately, upon inspecting my bike when I returned back home, I found that the brakes on both wheels were not even remotely centered (i.e. one brake pad hits the wheel much sooner than the other one) and one of the front brake pads were rubbing the wheel (without pulling brake handle). One silver lining is that I can confirm they thoroughly lubricate everything because they did a poor job wiping away excess in several places (mostly near the brakes).I acknowledge that no place is perfect; however, if I am paying money to have someone else maintenance my bike, it is to ensure that everything is done correctly. Both times I paid for a service at Intown Bicycles, they did a bad job specifically with my brakes. I will not be returning.
I want to say thank you. My teen daughter came in today because the chain fell off of her bike as she was making her way to the beltline. She walked with her bike to your shop and you kindly took her bike to the back and fixed the chain for her. As a bonus, you adjusted her seat and handle bars. She didn’t expect it or ask for it, but she definitely appreciated the extra care and so did I. (Especially since this wasn’t a bike that was purchased at your shop.) I can definitely say the next time we are in the market for a new bike or a rad vintage bike like the ones you have in front of your store now, you will be my first stop. Great in town customer service!! Thanks!
I came in from out of town and got a flat while out and about for a city ride. These folks took me right in and had me back on my bike in no time at all. Staff was very friendly and personable. If I lived here, this would be a go to shop! Thank you all for your kindness.
I went to replace a flat front tire. They were were very friendly and helpful. The guy who helped me made sure to let me know the inner tube i brought in had a different valve which was fine because my bike pump does both. Then he fixed my front brake for free. Its never worked so well before actually. Another place told me i just needed the brake oil. I had no idea it wasnt fixed properly. To do that for free was super kind of him. Definitely going back here.
I was working on my bike and ended up screwing a cable up so brought it in to Intown. Most places right now do not even take walk ups do to the extremely high demand during Covid, but they did and gave a reasonable 3-5 day range to get the work done since I was a “work-in”. Ended up being completed in 2 days. Staff was friendly and prices fair. Overall great experience!
From the moment I began doing business with this store the customer service was impeccable. The staff were able to accommodate my need to have a bike boxed for an international shipment, and did a fantastic job. I urge anyone in the metro area who needs boxing service to consider Intown Bicycles. Flawless execution!
They have a good team of solid mechanics. Young folks who give good advice and good service. They trued a wheel and fixed a spoke issue that others couldnt solve. And they gave measure to me one time when I came in with a flat. Their first priority seemed to be to help and solve problems. I will trust them with work in the future. In my opinion, its unusual to find good service like what they provide.
Intown Bicycles caters to commuters, enthusiasts, and athletes alike with fabulous service and remarkably friendly/knowledgeable staff. This shop is clean, organized, and provides a little bit of everything.Rita and the rest of the staff (whose names I dont yet know) are kind and work quickly. Ive come in on two separate occasions—after purchasing a bike from here—and both times my bike has been serviced from start to finish in under 15 minutes.Although Im not thrilled that Ive had to go in twice to get my bike tuned up (due to no fault of the shops, just my poor luck and foresight), it helps that the atmosphere is so pleasant.I anticipate this being the only bike shop that Ill patronize so long as I live in the area.
I love supporting this little shop and take our bikes here for servicing and anytime we need anything. Everyone is very knowledgeable and wants to promote cycling whether youre training for a race, commuting by bike, or just riding on the weekends for fun. Ive never felt any pressure to buy anything, so it makes it easier to continue to support them. I do wish they had a larger selection of bikes and brands, since were mostly a road bike family, but the brands and bikes they do carry are dependable and high quality. Highly recommend whether you want to purchase a dependable bike from Intown or if you want to purchase elsewhere and have them take care of the servicing for it.
The team here at Intown Bikes always has the customer in mind, whether tracking down hard to find items, or carefully solving and intricate derailleur compatability issue. Ive bought four family bikes from Mike over the years; all are still on the road. One of them I used for commuting, then reconfigured for touring; Mike found the critical old-tech parts I needed. Rita always makes sure the work is done right first time. Great shop.
Very nice little bike shop. They have helped me out numerous times selecting parts or fixing my bike. They are always very friendly. One time, I had fixed a luggage rack to my bike at home in a sub-optimal way. Even though I was there for something else, the mechanic at the shop advised me on how to fix it better to my bike, without scratching the frame up. He even gave me the hardware required for free! I was blown away by how nice they were. (Mind you, neither the bike nor the rack was bought there, so they really went above and beyond).
Ive taken my old bike in for repairs and theyve always been extremely knowledgable and honest. Sold my old one and decided to get a new bike from them since I trusted them. Rather than try to upsell me Mike made sure I got the right bike for my needs and budget and I couldnt be happier. Everyone there is super friendly and I will keep coming back for repairs.
I ended up going to Intown Bicycles just because it was closest. I had intended on checking out a couple of other bike shops but honestly from the moment I got there I was impressed with everything about the place. Mike was a person I met with at the beginning. He spent about an hour with me going over different bikes and sharing all of his experience and advice to help me pick out the right bike. What I enjoyed is that I could tell he was interested more so in me getting me on the right bike versus trying to upsell to the most expensive bikes. I went back a couple times just to make sure that I was sure of which bike I wanted to get and each person I walked to was very helpful. Even after the purchase when they assembled the bike and got it all ready to go, the service guy (Craig) spent another 30 minutes with me making sure I was comfortable with everything before I left. Excellent customer service all the way around. And as far as pricing, I looked all over online to compare prices online at other locations with Intown prices. Intown was right in line with everyone else in the pricing. Even a few dollars less than many places. And whats great is the free tune up for 6 months. I can only speak about my experience at this particular shop but I would highly recommend anyone looking ITP to drop in.
What an incredible diamond in the rough. The entire staff is incredible friendly and knowledgable. No pressure sales. They took the time to get my girlfriend set up with the exact bike she wanted. We didnt walk in expecting to buy anything more than a couple locks, but you cant help to want to support a shop like this to the fullest. Will definitely be returning.
Great bike shop! Stopped here to pick up a few things and the guy who was helping me made some great recommendations. I can do most repairs myself but I would fully trust this shop to give me an accurate gauge of how worn my gears, cables, and chain are. I love that they dont try to sell you products or services that you dont need. Love Intown Bike!
In the age of Covid-19, I understand that businesses are having to adapt to the ever changing times. However, providing exceptional customer service is what creates return customers and positive reviews. My experience was less than 1 star. I was referred there by a friend, so I went on Sunday, had to call in to speak to someone, after several attempts, I was finally able to speak with Logan. The bike I decided on was not built yet. About 30 minutes after leaving, Logan called and said it was built, and I could stop by and see it. I arrived back out front about 30 minutes later, and called in. Again after 9 attempts to reach someone, (Mike) answered, and was extremely rude and argumentative. I asked to speak to Logan, in the red shirt, and Mike said in a very condescending manner, I am in a red shirt. I was so irritated that I said I would just call back and speak with Logan. So I did...and Logan informed me the bike he called me about 45 minutes prior was sold. If thats the case, why didnt anyone call me to tell me the bike I was interested in was sold? I feel I would receive better customer at Walmart then this store.
What an amazing little gem of a shop to find! Friendly staff that are very knowledgeable. Works hard to make sure you select the correct bike and near a great neighborhood to test drive! Easy Beltline Trail literally 2 minutes away as well as Piedmont Park. Mike and Daniel were extremely caring and helped install a kickstand and bicycle lock. Well worth the 40 minute drive to such astonishing people. Near everything cool that is Atlanta as well!!! 😋
Super friendly shop. Yes, that means they are noob friendly as well! The person that helped me made sure that I was looking for the right bike which would fit my riding style. We tried both hybrid bikes and road bikes. I appreciate that this shop doesnt just try to sell you something expensive - they really care that you get the right bike for you. After deciding on a few potential bikes, they let you take it out for a spin around the neighborhoods. This is a good time to test how it feels and shifts.I ultimately didnt end up buying my bike here but I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone because they have the best people.
Overpriced bikes, they demand to hold your license for a test ride then forget to return it. Wasted a trip there after I was told I could trade my bike in for a new one then they refused. Also, the jamis line of bikes they carry are not that good, and are waaayy overpriced. You can get everything they sell online for 65-70% of their price.
I dont own a bicycle, but I had a deflated football that I wanted to throw with my friend at the park nearby. I thought they would have a compressor, so I asked if they would pump up my football for me. The woman who helped me did it no questions asked and seemed happy to do it. I may not be in the market for a bike anytime soon, but I highly recommend a business run by people like that.
I walked in with my bike that had a simple brake problem. Some parts needed to be replaced. They let me decide whether I just buy the parts and fix it myself, or have them fix it. No pressure, which I appreciated. I let them fix it in 15 minutes. And they were friendly. Ill go back if I have another problem with the bike.
Thoughtful. I had a broken spoke and also needed brake-work. They had to order some brakepads for the repair, which would take a week. They told me that riding on the broken spoke might damage my awsome wheel, so they went ahead and took care of it so I could ride easy until the brakepads arrived. (The brake trouble did not pose an immediate safety hazard.)They did a good job of coordinating my repairs given that I ride to work every day.
Wont serve you unless you call. Will waste your time telling you this through the front door glass, rather than take your order. Well, my phone battery died. Im not sure why a phone is required for me to tell you through the glass that I need an innertube. Safety, I get; stupidity, I dont.
Poor job! The inner tube was wrongly placed, you can feel the air coming out. The brake lines were not in the right place. The tire got flat just one day after I received the bike from the shop. I paid $150 for a new wheel and tire and just one day after I checked the bike out of the shop, I noticed all these issues when I was trying to go to the park. Please pay attention to all simple details next time to provide a good quality service.

2022-07-01Yesterday I bought my first bike (pictured) in probably twenty years. Mike and Rita have been so helpful with the sale and any questions/minor issues I’ve had. I have a new found love for biking thanks to this business. Looking forward to going back many times for regular service/repairs as needed and would highly recommend. 💯💯💯

2022-01-29These guys are the best! I had a bad experience at my local shop so I came to Intown based on their Google reviews to get some advice before buying a used bike. They had a very nice Jamis road bike in stock in my size and Mike the owner let me test ride it but did not try to sell me or pressure me to buy in any way. He offered very honest advice about the used bikes I was looking at too. I brought in one of the used bikes I was interested in the next day which they examined thoroughly for a very fair price. After looking it over Daniel told me it was in great shape and a very good value. In short, these folks are honest. I didn’t buy a bike from them but they won a customer for life. I’m back here two weeks later letting them work on my wife’s bike. This is a great shop!

2022-02-07This is a little late but I came about a month ago to get my bike serviced and can’t say enough good stuff. My bike was finished a few days before expected and Daniel did an amazing job! My bike runs way smoother and feels great. Daniel also went above and beyond and tightened my u-lock mount so it wouldn’t move around when I bike on bumpy roads. He also secured my little novelty bike license plate on with twist ties instead of the dinky ribbon I used when I brought it in. Can’t recommend this place enough :) plus they’ve saved me multiple times in the past when I needed random parts here and there

2022-06-22Very knowledgeable and friendly. I went by not really having any idea what was going on with my bike chain and they offered me a few different solutions. No pressure sales at all and gave me some tips on how to care for the chain going forward.

2022-03-08Only game in town who disassembles bikes for shipping. Crazy fast service and so well done. The bike I shipped it to said “whoever packed this bike - are professionals.” They taped off all bars and screw down components to ensure the bike stayed fitted to my dimensions. 10/10

2019-11-05I have taken my Ice recumbent trike to Mike twice and both times his mechanics have repaired the trike fantastic! They have a great selection of cycles and accessories and even carry ebikes to help get you up over the Atlanta hills!
