My daughter enjoyed the visit. While I have no issues with it, its not anything new for me. Most of what was displayed were things that occurred in my lifetime. I explained to my daughter that what was there that I wasnt personally familiar with was something that I heard from my parents growing up. Overall a very positive experience.

Thomasville’s First Black History Museum is established to educate individuals about the history and culture of African Americans locally and nationally. One African-American historian, James “Jack” Hadley, has preserved over 4,669 pieces of African American artifacts with emphasis on Thomasville’s First Black The Achievers, state and national achievers that commemorate their lives and accomplishments. James Roosevelt Hadley (born 1936) is the founder and curator of the Jack Hadley Black History Museum in Thomasville, Georgia. He formerly served in the United States Air Force.

We visited Thomasville, Ga. for the first time. My Dad was born in Thomasville and it has always been my desire to go to his hometown. We went there with no expectations except excitement and anticipation. We discovered this Hidden Gem and we were excited that they opened for us. The history that is compiled here is too numerous to mention. There are 4 galleries and you could literally spend all day in each one.We received a personal tour from the curator, Jack Hadley and he is a living encyclopedia of Black history. The collection covers not only the history of Black people from Thomasville but from across this great nation.Thank you Mr. Hadley you made our trip a memorable one

Celebrated Juneteenth at the Jack Hadley Black Museum which is located on the Frederick Douglass campus. I graduated HS from there, 50 yrs. ago.

Very interesting. This museum is full of unbelievable facts and visual images right out of an African American history book. A must see for people who want to know what it was really like.

I was so impressed! So much local ad national history packed into this space. After 3.5 hours I had only made a small dent. I got a personal tour from Mr Jack Hadey himself. WOW! IT IS WORTH A VISIT!
