J.Christophers in other cities:
We have enjoyed several prior visits to this and other J Christopher’s locations. Today was very disappointing. The hostess said they were short staffed, which appeared true since more than 1/2 the tables were left empty. There were more customers waiting outside, than dining inside. We waited ~40 mins. Once seated there were more service staff than we expected to see, but those we interacted with were unmotivated and not service oriented.I think we’ll be looking for a different brunch alternative, because ultimately this was a poor management problem.
We get every restaurant has staffing issues but this location tops them all. Open tables, 30-40 min wait. Delayed food to not overwhelm the kitchen. If the staffing issues are so severe, stop taking phone orders, stop accepting additional patrons to only add to the backlog. Put one of two hostesses in the kitchen. There needs to be a serious leadership focus or adult supervision at this location. Two stars are for the waitress.
Greeted by a hostess who asked if I wanted the bar for no wait. Yes. Handed me a menu and said ok. I was like - where is the bar?15 minutes before server comes by to take my order. My order: western with egg white, no peppers/onions, cheese grits, pancake instead, side of regular bacon. 15 more minutes later, a different person brings me: western with yellows, some peppers mixed, one dot of cheese on top, brown inside from over cooking, plain grits, pancake, and no bacon.Server comes to check and i was like - I asked for egg whites, she’s like I’m so sorry. After she left I realized bacon never came. Didn’t see her again until I was done. Mind you - I’m at the bar. Where all the servers make drinks.
I ordered delivery for breakfast and just wanted a couple of biscuits and some gravy. So I ordered 2 biscuits and 2 sides of country gravy. Mind you that gravy cost $2 each, and THIS is what you deem an appropriate size for a $2 side of gravy?!?!!!Idk why your store or cook decided to cheap out and cut corners by changing the size/amount of the sides of gravy you all serve but this is absolutely ridiculous! It is literally one spoonful of gravy! Like you didnt even fill the cup up?! 🤣If this is your new size for your sides of gravy I will no longer be a regular customer cause this is honestly insulting.
J. Christophers fancy, Southern, and filling. There are a lot more words that could describe J. Christophers but you have to eat hear to believe it. The walls are artistic, colorful and delightful to look at while having a well made country brunch. Come here either extremely hungry for just a bite; either way you will leave full.
The service I received from Nikki was amazing. She was attentive, kind, and helpful. I had the traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, roasted potatoes, cheese grits, and maple French toast. The star of the dish was the challah French toast. It had firm edges with an ever so slight crisp that blended well with the soft interior. I was very generous with the syrup, but the bread never got soggy. The potatoes were tasty and had just enough seasoning. A pinch more would have been too much. The potatoes blended well with the standard scrambled eggs. I think Ive given up on turkey bacon in restaurants. They all seem to serve this limp, fire-kissed version of a dish that I make crispy at home, so probably skip that choice. And, the grits were so-so. Id definitely eat here again because there are other things I want to try.
Food was decent but my server was very distracted and forgot anything we asked for. She was friendly but just kept passing us right by. Hard to eat w/out a spoon. But the bagels were from home #TheBronx so that made up for tons =) Clean place. Well lite just not the friendliest staff, but the portions were fair.
Never disappointed at any J Christopher... but more direct about this one. My experience on Memorial Day was friendly and fast service & the food is on point and consistent as always!Try swapping your biscuit for a blueberry crunch cake or a strawberry Belgian waffle, so good!
My group enjoys going to J. Christophers. We get excellent food, plenty of it, prepared exactly the way we ordered it. We like the service too., they dont hover, but they are available when we need something. Also, there are enough options without gluten to keep me happy!
I went to John Christopher’s today, as I was craving the eggs Benedict. I was seated briefly and I was met by a server I wasn’t familiar with. Normally when you have a waiter you’re not familiar with at a restaurant you frequent you’re not sure how to feel, but Yen made me feel right at home. He served my drink with haste, and it tasted better than ever. He got me and my friend excited for our meal today. When he came back to the table and took our orders, he greeted us with a wonderful smile and his voice is as smooth as silk. Then he took my order back and I caught a waft of his cologne; a pleasant surprise. He brought our food out quickly, as he wanted our meals to be nice and hot. Just like him. This was a wonderful experience and I will be coming back more than regular
Our waitress was very attentive and came and checked up on us for refills and to pick up plates, the food was excellent! The waffles are nice and fluffy, the pancakes are soft, all around everything we ate was delicious. The silverware looked very clean as well which is very important!! DEFINITELY coming back again
Very attentive service with a good, eclectic menu. Portions are slightly on the small side for the money, but well prepared and presented. They have a lighter, healthier fare section on their menu as well as some really good whole grain and granola berry pancakes.Good place to eat breakfast or lunch.
Service was wonderful, friendly and everything came out fast and hot. That was the best part. I got the route 66 skillet and a side of smoked cheddar grits. The skillet was small and the hash looked and tasted like it came from a can, the grits had no flavor. If it wasnt for our waitress I would have rated it lower, really had high hopes for J. Christophers
We visited on 7/3. The hostess Michaela was horrible, she spent more time talking to other workers and standing around then doing her job. We had to wait 20 minutes even with over 7 tables available. The waitress Ramona was nice but one of our orders was wrong and the had a missing item. All in all the food was great, the service stunk.
What a nice surprise and enjoyable breakfast. The restaurant was very clean and the food was excellent. Had a difficult time deciding what I wanted to eat. The coffee was fresh and good! Our waitress, Ashley, was very attentive, and so were the other staff who assisted her. My Mom and I look forward to going back there again!
I hadnt been here for years but remembered it to be awesome. So I took my out of town visitors for lunch today.Boy, was I disappointed 😞.Please someone teach the cook how to make a decent crepe.Ours were flimsy to the point where the filling just piled through. The plating was sloppy and my fruitsalad looked old and dried.Sorry folks. Wont be coming again.
Despite the 30 minute wait, the brunch menu was a wide variety. I choose to go with a simple meal: over easy eggs, 2 sausage links, cheesy grits and a flakybiscuit. The biscuit was anything but flaky, it was hard and I could not even bother to eat a quarter of it. Everything else was to be expected, decent and well seasoned. The waitstaff was attentive but did not hover and the place is very clean. Id give this place another try when Im in the area again.
I would give this zero stars but it doesn’t give me the option. I used to love this restaurant but it seems things have gone downhill quick. I came in with a friend from out of town on a Sunday morning. We were seated and our waitress took our drink orders or waters and hurried off before we could even order coffee or juice. After she brought water she took our order and not even two minutes later came back and brought our bill. Our food came out cold and cooked completely wrong. We returned it and they tried another attempt of getting it correct and it was just very low quality. We were planning on ordering To-go food but at this point our experience was completely ruined . I do not recommend this establishment.Update: emailed corporate office and received no response. It’s unfortunate this establishment has gone so down hill.
Ok so,I was at J.Christopher yesterday morning, craving an Eggs Benedict. Then, my waiter, Yen, comes up to me with a jovial expression and asks if I wanted a drink and brought it up in seconds. It was instant service; almost as if I hadn’t noticed he left. This was consistent throughout the entire meal, and his magnanimity reminds me of the ideal service I enjoy.
My fiance and I came here for breakfast. The wait was really long, but their estimate wait time was pretty accurate. When the food came out, the only thing that was good were the pancakes. The sausage was lukewarm at best and my fiances belgian waffle was cold. The fresh squeezed orange juice tasted like it was from a box. The service wasnt all that great either. Our waitress took our card we paid with to the wrong table and dropped a knife on my leg.
My daughter highly recommended this restaurant for their breakfast menu. It did not disappoint. There are some unique offerings such as the cast iron skillet breakfast items with a variety of ingredients. The food is very good and the portions pretty generous. Ill visit again soon.
I went here based on all the positive reviews. It was something new and I had never been. Im new to the area and have enjoyed going to Henrys, Tiny Bubbles, Freight, Canyons and other fine restaurants. To say I was disappointed would be putting it kindly. The staff was the only thing the reviews had right. The young lady who served us, was so sweet and kind. She just shined, her personality was amazing. We just loved her. The food on the other hand was not what I expected. I ordered the urdban cowboy omelette while my husband got the Malibu chicken. My omelette had a wet dog smell and had no taste, the pot roast was dry and hard, the mushrooms taste like expired canned mushrooms, the onions were not sauteed as described and the description of the omelette which is what sold me on the getting it. I love sauteed onions. I took two bites and I could stomach another. I asked for a to go box. As not to hurt my servers feeling I played off that I was full from the coffee and English muffin( which the coffee was so good). There was not enough salt and pepper on that table that could make that omelette edible. As for my husband his chicken was bland and I have no idea what was Malibu about it because it just look like a BLT with chicken. He did love the bacon but thats all he could stomach. I added his food to my to go box. We both got roasted potatoes as a side and we couldnt even attempt to enjoy them. Parts tasted burnt and were hard to chew and other parts tasted like the potatoes werent even cooked properly. We even tried it with ketchup and to no avail could we even eat them. If the food was as good as I read on here I would have thought the price was perfect for the portions. But I feel like I wasted 45 dollars for breakfast. 33 for the meal we couldnt stomach here and 13 on breakfast at a fast food place that actually did a better job, which in my opinion should never out do a restaurant. To be honest its hard to compete with Chick-fil-A. Those are Gods people serving Gods food. Maybe the cook was having a bad day I dont know. We are willing to try again but maybe another location. Just to compare the difference. But our first impression was the food was dry, bland, flavorless, nothing to crave and a waste of money. We shall see next time. Im still giving a 3 stars because the staff was indeed amazing.
Be careful going here. They are not social distancing and the waitress could not keep her mask over her nose and mouth. They put us in a small room with a table of 8 and another table of 2. There was no air flow and no social distancing. Until this is over i would definitely avoid going here.
Best breakfast place. real friendly staff. Quick. But what I really loved Was that they saw me struggling with my 1 year old and the young lady started talking to my little girl trying to calm her down. And gave her some crayons and a paper to draw on. Little girl was so happy and I enjoyed my breakfast. Thanks guys.!!
Nice and relaxing environment. Staff are very concerned about your experience and the food is very fresh and the food presentation is nice also. The art work there is phenomenal wish I could take the beach painting home with me. Our waiter was very attentive and she makes sure your glass is always full. Nice brunch spot for a great price.
The food is always great and the service is usually very friendly. The parfait in particular is really good, especially because when compared to other restaurants that offer similar options, you can tell effort goes into even that simple of a dish. We do plan to keep coming back. However, this morning I called with a few simple questions and the girl they had answering the phone was flat out rude and unwelcoming. Im not really the type to complain and want to give 5 stars for otherwise what is usually a good experience with J Christophers, but when you have someone like that answering phones and just leaving me more annoyed than anything else, its hard to not have to point it out. Didnt catch her name, but you should probably make sure your staff arent treating customers like idiots or annoyances.
This review apply to all the J. Christopher chains. For the quality of food, the price is way to high. The service is on par for the type of restaurant, and food comes out pretty fast. But again the quality of food is not worth it. I would recommend the quesadilla to get most bang for your buck or an omelette. But again, for the quality of food, this place is overpriced.
Zero stars is a more appropriate rating. I am a first time visitor to this restaurant and I can honestly say I will never be returning. The waitress ‘Kimberli’ dropped off the bill before the food came. When the food did arrive it was cold and undercooked. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I would’ve been better off going to McDonald’s.
Just finished dining at this location. We walked in, wait was 30-35 mins. While waiting, I asked the hostess if we could sit on the patio along with the other guests on the wait list. She said no problem and said any table is fine. We were sitting at a table for no more than 15 mins and she asked us to move (kindly) because guests wanted to sit at the table we were at. I assume that this was because of COVID/smaller staffing/lower volume concerns, but they were the only ones sat outside. I went inside after some time and asked where we were on the list. The hostess told us we only have one other table ahead of us. I walked back outside and then they sat 3 tables ahead of us - two of which came in after us. We waited for an additional 20 mins and then were finally sat. Food came out within 10 mins of ordering. Food wasn’t good. My “bubba” special was cold (except for the grits) and flavorless. My husbands burger tasted cheap. Server came by to check, we just didn’t really say much (mumbled “ok I guess”). It was clear we were not happy and just wanted to leave. No offer to take my meal off which was hardly touched.
Wonderful establishment! The decor really takes this place to the next level. The variety and quality of food they offer was incredible. The staff was so friendly and accommodating to my dietary restrictions! I really enjoyed visiting J.Christophers and will definitely be visiting again. You MUST CALL AHEAD! I did not my first time and waited for a while before being seated because everyone flocks to this place because its so good! So if you are going there, just call ahead and let them know and you will not have to wait! :)
Great brunch place. The blueberry crunchcakes and the French toast are great choices, although pretty much everything on the menu is. Our experience the past few times has been exceptional with the staff. They are friendly and attentive. Expect a small wait on the weekend, although Ive never waited longer than about 20 min.
Yen is the greatest server I’ve ever had in my 30+ visits to the J. Christopher establishment. All other servers pale in comparison to Yen. I truly believe that the level of service the he provides sets a new level that no other server here can match. I will never sit with any other server there.
It wasnt too bad. I remember it being better but we did go to a different location this time. I felt the potatoes were alittle under cooked and the eggs or omelette werent seasoned or salted at that. The biscuits were a little under cooked as well. I will vouch for the blueberry crunch cake! Definitely the highlight of my meal. If its any consolation, it was mothers day and maybe the meals were rushed due to the holiday. Would give it another chance when not so busy
Absolutely delicious! We arrived just before 11am on a Sunday for Brunch, it was pretty busy but definitely worth the wait!!! The place was so upbeat and ecclectic with a contemporary cafe feel. The menu offered mouth-watering options, which were kind of hard to choose from. I had the Maple Toast, which is made with Thick and Fluffy Challah bread and my family had other options like a Turkey Avocado Skillet and Eggs Christopher (a play on Eggs Benedict). All the items were so good! Our server Madison was very knowledgeable about the menu, was very helpful, and seemed to love her job! A definite must try. I will definitely be back to see what else they have to offer... Apparently, On Sundays they offer a limited menu.
Of the three breakfast restaurants I visited while in kennesaw, this was by far the best! The menu options included some standard breakfast fare but also some unique or non-typical selections. I ordered lox, bagel and cream cheese which was really tasty! Also good service and a nice atmosphere.
I took a look at the other reviews, interesting to see whose making the comments. The food in this place was served cold on a hot plate. Im still confused. I asked for the manager, and was told that the plate could be remade in 5 mins. How? The microwave. No thank you. She seemed upset after I explained to her how I didnt want to wait any longer, after already waiting some 20 mins on 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon and some undone (all the way through)hashbrowns potatoes. If you want well seasoned, DONE all the way through potatoes, and hot eggs and cheese, as well as hot toast. Good Food in general, thats prepared and served hot and fresh, Dont go to THIS LOCATION. Uggh.... I dont understand how cooks think that all food should be served underprepared and cold. M m m....smh. first and last visit.
Four walls and a bunch of tables. The scrambled egg breakfast I ordered came out quickly but was more bland than Dennys. The scrabbled eggs had a not-prepared-per-order flair about them and the two skinny pieces of bacon appeared to have been mildy heated in a microwave. The service was pretty good.
I was visiting family in Kennesaw and, on my last morning in town, we went to J Christophers for breakfast. I had oatmeal, my sister-in-law had the Monte Cristo sandwich, and my brother had one of the breakfasts. The food was great! The cinnamon raisin toast that came with my meal was tasty and the oatmeal was good, only not quite sweet enough for me. Brandon, our server, brought me more brown sugar and honey, and everything was super! I got to sample the Monte Cristo sandwich, and it was *amazing*! I will have that next time. It was a nice experience!
The food was great but the service was terrible. When our waitress sat us down it took forever to take our drink orders. By the time we got our drinks we told her we were ready to order, she told us she will be back. A couple came in 10 minutes after us and she took their drink orders and their food orders while we were waiting looking stupid. I will stick to Uber eats
I dont know what the hype is about J. Christophers. The coffee was okay; the orange juice was good. The server got our order wrong. The corned beef hash is straight out of a can. The pancakes were good. My husband ordered the Eggs Christopher and was given Eggs Benedict. Our waitress forgot to put my order in so it came out 15 minutes after my husbands. We wont be back.
I thought it was fine. Servers and kitchen are fast, and food good quality for everything Ive ordered (more than half the menu). Waits for seating, food and check have been prompt, even during very busy times. My family goes here almost every week.--Disabled with walkers/scooters:What I mention below is absolutely nothing to do with JC. These outside conditions are completely on the building owner, not the businesses leasing in it. I am mentioning caution outside the restaurant for disabled friends, not talking about JC itself.--I recommend everyone use the ramp, not the stairs, even when its not raining, regardless if you use a walker or not. I wouldnt trust the handrails much, either. The front steps are crumbling, so watch out.Again, this is about the building outside, and not at all a negative of JC the restaurant itself.
J. Christophers in Kennesaw has a wonderful vibe! The art on the walls is so memorable and a reason to visit, in addition to the delicious food options! This is a go-to place for brunch and my visit today was no exception! My server, Ashley, was attentive, knowledgeable, informative and patient. Brunch today was such a great experience that, because of her and all of the employees, I will definitely return again and again!
We called and asked current wait time. They quoted 10-15 min. She said we could put our name on the list now so we did. We got there 10 minutes later & checked in. She said it would be 15-20 min. I explained to her we did call ahead seating 10min ago & they quoted 10-15 min. She had us wait 20 more minutes. My husband went to ask her what was going on & she offered no apologies & said “you don’t understand how call ahead seating works”. We left. If someone calls & u quote them something that isn’t accurate then you should explain it before they drive there & wait a total of 30 minutes. After someone waits 30 min is not the time to educate ur guests on how call ahead seating works. Pretty much we were quoted 10-15 min, waited 30 & never got a table. Horrible restaurant service.
Never going there again. I wouldve had a better breakfast from McDonalds, seriously. The wait was lonnng. We ordered to go after waiting for a while. Waited another 20 minutes for the order. We were assured it was checked and accurate by the nice girl who gave it to us. Took our 1 minute drive home and found our food to be burnt yet cold, hard, rubbery, and half of it missing. What my husband could eat of his meal (mine was missing) was almost impossible to saw through with a steak knife and didnt have a good flavor at all.Im pretty hungry and aggravated but Im 100% sure Ill never go to that p.o.s., pretentious, poorly staffed restaurant again.(They had a note asking for patience because they are understaffed due to the weather...the 4 inches of snow we got 2 days ago? The roads are clear and dry today. Pathetic excuse, just like allll the excuses the mgr gave us instead of just apologizing and fixing it)
All of the J. Christophers are slightly overpriced for what you get. The last time I went I got the turkey and avocado skillet, which was amazing. Ive also tried the huevos avocados, which is very tasty. The service is always so-so. The last time we were sat the tip from the previous guests was still on the edge of the table until our server came up and grabbed it.
If youve never been thats unfortunate. Imagine IHOP or Cracker Barrel or Waffle House but this time it looks nicer and the food is fresh we and tastes significantly better and you have healthier choices. Occasionally it gets really busy like Saturday or Sunday morning and both the food and service dip bc demand exceeds supply but otherwise its one of the better breakfast places around. Theres also one in downtown Woodstock.
I paid for there breakfast feast. It is comparable to The All-Star Special at Waffle House. I always get the All-Star Special at Waffle House. J. Chritophers Feast was $2 more and didnt include toast. That didnt matter as I didnt need it. The portions were huge and the quality of food was WAY BETTER than Waffle House. I recommend J. Christophers.
Love their food & biscuits but I hate that you sometimes get raw dough thats partially cooked as your biscuits sometimes when you pick up or get delivery. Not sure if it happens in person too, havent eaten one inside, but I can only assume it does. We were literally eating raw dough the other day. It was disgusting & unhealthy.
The first time I was at J Christophers it was great but that was two years ago, this time even though the service was good the food was awful. I ordered a quesadilla and a side of grits. First off the grits were very flavorless, they were like eating grits soup very watery, I ordered cheese in my grits but the cheese that they use wouldnt melt even though my grits were piping hot strange, the quesadilla was lackluster it was very watery and everything was falling out of my quesadilla , the quesadilla came with condiments and black beans, the black beans was again like black bean soup it was just water with floating black beans and they had no flavor, the flavor that was there was very distinct flavor of spoiled vegetables namely tomatoes. my food experience at J Christophers was so bad this time that Ill never come back nor will I ever recommend them to anyone ever again.
Unless your a size 12 you wont fit at the booths, only checkef on us once & had to flag down people to help. Cloths napkins were dirty & actually had to ask for other napkins. The spit of ice in the glasses is laughable. The food is even worse. Not fully cooked, one blueberry in the pancakes (were sending that photo to ramys fword), potatos are coated in simple shake & bake, meat isnt cooked all the way. Never returning.
Every time I come to Kennesaw Georgia to visit I have to visit this place. They have the best waffles around their service is fantastic and all the other food on their menu is very good. It is a little on the pricey side however for me its worth it for the one time I visit every time I come up to Kennesaw Georgia.
After being sat off in a side room, my boyfriend and I were beside this family for 10 minutes without anyone addressing us, even for a drink order. We looked up at the host stand (which is catty corner from this room) and noticed there were 4 employees at the host stand talking, and after watching the family beside us impatiently wait for their check and finally having to send someone after their waitress for their check, we gave up and just left.In the time it took for us to finally decide this place was not worth our money, we could have already ordered anywhere else.
Told us they took call ahead seating. Well that’s a lie. They told us 10 to 15 min. We were there in 10 min. They told us it would be 15 to 20 more. Long story short after 30 min I went and asked what the deal was and the hostess told me I didn’t understand how call ahead seating works.

2022-07-10We enjoyed our breakfast. The turkey sausage was really good, but the egg whites had zero flavor. They do have Gluten Free options so thats a plus. Great service. Will visit again.

2022-02-11Went today for my birthday, mentioned it to our waiter in passing, as we were waiting for the check he comes out with this beautiful Chocolate Crepe. Totally unexpected but very appreciated. :) Good service and food was delicious

2022-05-17Friendly staff, fast service. I came during a weekday right as they opened. You can substitute for egg whites and they have almond milk for coffee. I wished they carried veggie sausage

2022-03-13We visited on a cold Saturday morning. There were only a few tables taken and we were seated immediately. The waitress was pleasant and brought coffee in a urn, which I wish more restaurants would do. I like my coffee hot and it kept it that way. We both ordered omelettes with home fries which were very good and made with fresh ingredients. My only knock is the blueberry crunch pancakes. Fresh blueberries were good but the granola crunch was significantly lacking. Only a few granola sprinkled on top. Other than that everything was very good and I would definitely try again.

2021-10-24Overall we had an ok experience. Service took long, they dont bring a spoon for the coffee, the strawberry banana smoothie tasted way too artifical, they do not disinfect the tables after each guest (they just wipe it down with a rug).

2021-12-27I’ll never go back, worst experience ever. First we were sat at a table where the ceiling was leaking. Then I ordered a peppermint hot chocolate that came with a piece of napkin/paper towel in it from breaking up the peppermint. Lastly & most importantly it took forever to get our food. When we asked the food runner & waitress about it the food runner got an attitude with us therefore I asked her to bring our check. The manager brings the check and we were trying to explain to her the situation. She immediately grabs our plates and tells us we need to leave. Two issues I took with this experience…1) being that we are black and everyone else was white therefore they were treating us differently & 2) there were three families that came in after ours and got their food first. How is it that when we sat down and the server came to take our drink order that we waited the longest. Needless to say we are highly dissatisfied with this restaurant and will not be returning. Do NOT recommend. They are only getting 1 star because I can’t rate them 0 stars.

2022-05-08Completely stressful for mother’s day. We tried to call in a pickup order 3 days in advance. We were told to call back the day of. We called at 8am for 11am pickup and we’re told to call back later. They do not take orders in advance. We called in at 9:15am because we knew it was starting to get busy. Once again we were told to call back later for 11:00am pickup. From 10:15am to at least 11:30am, the phone line didn’t even ring. Busy line only. This restaurant has 0 processes in place to efficiently handle Mother’s Day. I don’t see how anybody is getting served without having to go through an extensive waiting period. We gave up and went to McAllisters for no wait and a delicious meal. We will never try this establishment again on Mother’s Day.

2020-09-16Service was excellent. BELT sandwich was great. The Route 66 was very dry. Eggs were over cooked. Couldn’t finish because of how dry it was. Maple toast was good, very very sweet without syrup. Blueberry crunch pancake was excellent.

2022-06-21Good place for breakfast in Kennesaw, I love the interior
