This is the best place to train jiujitsu in Columbus! The owner and his wife pour their heart and souls into make sure things run smoothly and everyone feels welcome, safe, and like family. The training and knowledge of the professors is top notch. All of the coaches are excellent and the gym is always kept sparkling clean! If youre just visiting Columbus or living here this is the place to be! Meet a bunch of new friends, learn how to defend yourself, or just get some exercise in...you can do everything at Jiujitsu Columbus!
Ive trained at Jiu Jitsu Columbus for a year now. About half a year ago my wife began training there. A few months ago my son started. I trust the staff with my family. The staff have been kind and professional the entire time. It has become a place that I go to shake off the day and spend time learning in good company.I have trained various martial skills over the last decade and Jason is one of the most authentic and talented instructors that I have had the good fortune to learn from.
Great school to learn jujitsu. All the instructors are patient and promote a friendly environment to train. I have no problem asking questions and getting the answers I need. Professor Jason deep dives into techniques until we have a full understanding of how to perform the technique.
Trained in in many different gyms in many states with many different settings. I was hisitant to start training again, showed up with the intent of trying other local gyms. Blind Fury was a one stop shop. Have had no desire to look elsewhere. Great group of trainers and students. Welcoming environment to all levels and all backrounds.
Great BJJ family here at BFJJ. Awesome instructors who can help you achieve whatever you are looking for in Jiu-Jitsu. Whether you are training for high level competition or looking to get introduced to the sport, you will have both the attention and training partners you need to do so. Everyone is very kind and it is a supportive environment for all.
I could not be more pleased with my decision to sign up. As an older guy just starting out, I was concerned about my ability to keep up and avoid injury. What I have found is that Professor Jason and his team challenge us to get a good workout while carefully instructing us. Im getting in shape, having lots of fun, making connections, and learning to defend myself. I love it!
From my opinion the best school in the area! very friendly welcoming environment. everyone is always so open and willing to help each other progress and grow. Professor Jason is a superb instructor, he is very detailed and dedicated to teaching the best quality Jiu Jitsu around.
My son Kaden thoroughly loved working with Blind Fury. The owner Jason is a really great guy and he seems to enjoy what he does. All of the instructors were great as well. My son gained lots of confidence and was able to use his training to protect himself. Ill never forget him coming home from school and telling me that a boy had tried to choke him during PE time and he was able to use his training to get out of the choke in a manner that didnt hurt the other kid but protected himself and he didnt even get in trouble at school for fighting, no punching, no kicking, and no suspension. Is a great place to do martial arts .
I fully recommend Jiu-Jitsu Columbus to any parent who is looking to put their child into Jiu-Jitsu. I love how every coach takes the time for every student. They always make sure that every child in class knows what theyre doing and respects one another. Not to mention how much fun they make each class. My son is always ready to drop what ever hes doing and head to Jiu-Jitsu.
From the moment you walk through the door at Jiu Jitsu Columbus you are welcomed with open arms. Not only are you learning skills of Jiu-jitsu and kettle jitsu you gain friends and family. Some of the most friendliest people you will find in that Academy. At Jiu Jitsu Columbus you will not only learn all of your basics but you will also learn some of the most high level skills of Jiu-jitsu and other Self defense moves! Great for kids and adults of all ages. I can only tell you about it... You need to go in and check it out for yourself. The best Jiu-jitsu gym in the Fountain City Is at Jiu-jitsu Columbus!
We’ve been with Columbus Jiu Jitsu (Blind Fury) for a year this month. We love the school and each of the professors! The depth of experience and knowledge allows for my child to get excellent coaching in self defense while also getting a great workout in a clean environment. The classes are large and offer variety in training styles. We are happy to be part of the Blind Fury family!
I’m a black belt from New Orleans that was in town visiting. Jason and his team were extremely welcoming and hospitable. Jason’s technique is top notch, and the school was a wonderful place to roll and learn. I highly recommend checking them out if you are an experienced grappler or just looking to try a new hobby.
Had the opportunity to visit and train at Blind Fury while at a course on Fort Benning for two weeks. Absolutely the friendliest and most professional school you could imagine. Really impressed with the instruction, the attitude of the regulars at the classes, and the overall experience. I’d give my highest recommendation to anyone looking for a great place to practice BJJ or just get a workout in.
I decided to give Jiujitsu a try (Im 21) and I am glad I found Blind Fury Jiujitsu. It is such an awesome place! The comradery is inspiring! I was surprised (in a good way of course) to see someone coach their rolling partner on how to get out of a hold and then celebrate when being pinned. Professor and Cristina are so great! They are oober friendly and understanding.
This place is great, everyone is really friendly and helpful. I am completely new to BJJ and I never felt uncomfortable being there. You can tell they’re like a family and it’s all about the love for the sport and learning. Jason is a great teacher and it’s obvious he’s put his all into this gym and genuinely cares about his students. I would recommend this place for anyone of any age.
I’ve been training here on and off for about a year and a half now and I couldn’t be happier. The school offers classes in a variety of martial art styles, has always be inviting and welcoming to new students (even ones who are just there to get a feel for the place), and the instruction has been top-notch! I checked out some of the other jiu-jitsu schools in the area and didn’t feel quite right at any of them, but Blind Fury/Jiu Jitsu Columbus has been an amazing experience that I’d recommend to everyone.
I love JiuJitsu Columbus! great place to train is a second home to me , Ive known Professor Jason for a while he is a good mentor and friend, When I first move from Mexico to the United States it was rough, I felt like an outsider but Professor Jason and his TEAM to me in like been part of his family. Come and check it out , you would get hooked I promise!!!
Blind Fury is a wonderful school. My son has been there for several years and has grown so much. My 6 year old tried it and fell in love the first class. She is now enrolled and asking to go to class every day of the week. The instructors are so good with the kids. Highly recommend!
I had some spare time while waiting for our son to start holiday leave and had a great time training at Blind Fury. I dropped them a line asking if they allow visiting students and received a reply in no time inviting me to the academy. Professor Dexter and all the team members made me feel right at home. Dexter is a great instructor. Super down to earth, fun, and a terrific teacher. Hope my travels bring me back again in the future.
Our boys have been training at Blind Fury for a few months. They both enjoy it and look forward to coming. We love it because you are able to come as often as you want during the week, so it feels like you really get your money’s worth! Both Jason and Charlie are great with the kids and we feel like our boys are learning a lot!An added bonus- we have noticed better manners!
Great school for both adults and kids. It offers multiple classes to fit your schedule. Our kids have grown to love BJJ and learned lifelong lessons. They are disciplined and respect others and extremely confident in their abilities. I am a novice in the sport and signed myself up after the kids expressed how much they enjoy it. Im over 40 and wish I started earlier. Being a part of this school has brought the family closer together. In fact, the school itself feels like one big family.I would recommend any family and any person, regardless of age, to join.
When I retired and left my JiuJitsu instructor, 6th degree Black Belt Master Roy Harris, I believed my days of training in a great friendly environment was over. I have been training JiuJitsu since June of 1999. I loved training with Master Harris.Moving across the country, I had no place to train. I’ve trained at meat factories in the past before I met Master Harris. I didn’t want to deal with that type of training environment.I thank God everyday Master Harris recommended Blind Fury JiuJitsu. The quality of instruction is world class. All of the Black Blets and Coches are some of the most knowledgeable instructors I’ve ever met. The structure of the classes and the medthods of instructions, you can’t help but learn and get better.Professor Jason is a fantastic JiuJitsu Black Belt. Rolling with him reminds you just how effective JiuJitsu is.Not many schools have multiple Black Belt teaching. Blind Fury does. Not many schools have high level instructors whom still compete. Blind Fury does. Just an outstanding place to be and learn. Come train with us you will not regret it.
Great facility and superb BJJ instruction from Professor Jason Keaton. I spent three weeks down at Ft. Benning for training and Blind Fury Jiu Jitsu became my second home away from home. Jason and the entire Blind Fury team were gracious hosts and welcomed me with open arms. The jiu jitsu instruction is outstanding and it’s a great crew to roll with. I highly recommend dropping in for a class, whether you are a beginner or experienced BJJ practitioner. You’ll be glad you did.
My family and I have had an awesome experience at Blind Fury BJJ. It is a great environment for the kids, allowing them to grow as jiu-jitsu practitioners and good citizens. Professor Jason Keaton not only teaches them jiu-jitsu, but also life skills important to their growth as people. The adult classes are dynamic and they have a friendly atmosphere.
Best place you can train in Columbus bar none. Jason teaches in a way that is comprehensive and easy to understand, and he constantly has very high skilled guys coming in for seminars to help with your ground game. The higher belts here also do everything they can to help you get better, and the atmosphere is fun and everyone gets along. If you want good bjj this is the place.
I can’t say enough about this school. Staff and faculty are great. There is a real sense of community in this school. There is no showing up to a room full of strangers. Everyone is treated the same whether you are there everyday or if its your first class ever. Proffesor Jason has a well structured curriculum, and his teaching style keeps you engaged all class. Overall, Jiu Jitsu Columbus is great for learning self defense, sport jiu jitsu, building a community, and helping adults and children reach their full potential as human beings through bjj.
Great training environment and great atmosphere they work hard and are outstanding teachers in the art of bjj and love to share the knowledge . Expect to work hard , expect to sweat but most importantly expect to learn and have fun. Thank you professor Jason for taking me in as family while I was down here for school at Ft benning for several weeks.
I’ve attended Blind Fury BJJ for 3 months, and I’ve been impressed by Professor Jason Keaton and the staff at the school. The atmosphere is welcoming, the school is well maintained, and most importantly, Professor Keaton has a deep knowledge of BJJ, and the ability to teach that knowledge to people from all walks of life, from soldiers to children.
Heart of a teacher at all levels. Professor Keaton is a great mentor and has the highest expectations of the junior belts(blue-brown belts). This school is the essence of what Jiu Jitsu is all about. If you want to learn while you earn your rank, this is the team to join. If you are looking for pay to play, try one of the other “McDojo” Jiu Jitsu schools.
Ive been training here under Jason for a little over 9 months, and I love it.I was a little nervous when I signed up for my initial 6 months, but it was one of the better decisions Ive ever made. Im two stripes into my white belt now, and I have already learned SO much. Im excited for what I still have to learn! The community here is awesome and Jason is a great teacher, very patient and positive but he doesnt give you false praise. If you hear affirmation from him, you know you earned it -- the same goes for his promotions. He doesnt just use stripes and belts to get you to come back or pay more (as unfortunately some martial arts schools are known to do).Jason is in this because he loves the art. If he wanted to make big bucks, there are a lot of other ways he could have gone, but as it is he works a full-time job training soldiers on top of then teaching us and running the school. Im pretty sure hes working 80+ hours to keep all this going. No business is perfect, and no human is perfect. What I look for is heart, and Jason has that. Youll find an atmosphere of respect and mutual support, of authentic community and doing life together. Oh, and did I mention that Jason is hella good at Jiu Jitsu? That too.
My 5 year old daughter was on a 6 weeks trail at this facility. She enjoyed interacting with the children and Coach Charlie. I spoke with a very pleasant young lady over the phone she was as pleasant in person as she was over the phone. Kaneesha called to remind me of my appt. as well as followed up with me after my class. The down fall to this facility is the Owner Jason who was very friendly upon entering the facility, but after I signed up for the trail he was no longer acknowledge that I was in the building. Jason is good at what he does if and when he teaches the classes. But he is very unapproachable.the facility and the staff are wonderful. So because of these issues I have signed a contact for my daughter at Gracie Barra Columbus. Who has been the same from day one. I feel bad for Charlie and Kaneesha to be affiliated with a owner who has a unpredictable attitude. I can only hope and pray Grice Barra staff continue to display the positive customer service and positive coaching skills of Charlie and Kaneesha.
Blind Fury is a great place to learn and train martial arts. Although jiu jitsu is the primary art of the school, Jason (the owner) does a good job of integrating opportunities to learn other arts such as judo, boxing, and muay tai to supplement students’ skills. Blind fury offers a safe, competitive environment to learn and improve your skills no matter what level you train.
Thank you to blind fury Jujitsu academy.I was here in a trip to accompany my friend to her husbands military graduation.I had visited on Tuesday to meet master Jason and was greeted very kindly along with the front desk attendant her name was faith. I was curious since I was out of town if I would able to join them on some of they’re rolls on Thursday. They we very hospitable and were very flexible in allowing me to join them.I came in on Thursday night for the no Gi class. I unfortunately did not pack a Gi as my old class mate always advised if I ever go on a trip.Walked in and was greeted by “everyone”.They very kind. As training partners go, they stayed in control, were very technical and adjusted themselves to someone they’d never met in a very controlled and kind manner which expressed through out sparring. It was a honor and pleasure with you all.The majority of the time I spent with coach Charlie along with dexter, Tyler and Josh. The facility over all.The mats were clean and I even saw what looked like a child care room for parents who were busy rolling. It was slightly a little hot due to the summer but would I recommend it. Absolutely. If your in town, come see them.Thank you all. It was a privilege.Sincerely, Stephen.
My son has been a part of the Blind Fury family for almost 2 years and absolutely enjoys training with Professor Jason and Coach Charlie. If there’s one thing he looks forward to after school, it’s jiu jitsu practice Monday-Friday. Jason, Charlie, and Kaneesha do an amazing job with the kids and keeping the parents informed about upcoming events! Thank you all!!!
I have been coming here for over a year and I enjoy the atmosphere. The prices are affordable. Ive never had a problem with the business or learning aspect. Everyone treats eachother with respect. Great instructions. An amazing variety of classes offered, even different arts. The proffesor is the best in the area, and highest rank. You definitely get back what you put in. I wouldnt settle for another gym for any reason. I know with Professor Keaton i am receiving QUALITY training.
My daughter goes here their classes are great for kids. The instructor Charlie is great with them! They play games that help them develop movements to help them suceed in their training. Their schedule could be a bit more flexable but if you can make during the times they are open its worth it. They lack organization skills at times and communication with their members.
I met Jason Keaton while I lived in Columbus and started training with him. My Jiu Jitsu got way better because he took the time to let me know where I needed to work most to improve my game. I dont live there anymore but took away so much from my time spent with Jason Keaton. For example, Jason taught me how to properly drill and train certain positions to expand my game. I still use the moves Jason taught me to this day in competition and live rolling. I have also modeled my training regimen after what I learned from Jason and so much more. Im sure you will notice the love and passion for Jiu Jitsu here as well as the genuine interest Jason has in making you the best person you can be on and off the mat.
A great school, with good facilities, and awesome instructors. The instructors are truly what make this place great, being patient, knowledgeable, and crystal clear in what they teach they have something to offer everyone which is obvious in the wide age range of their students.
Watch it, signing up with these guys is like trying to buy a car from the sleazy used car sales guy. They draw you in with glitter and then dont explain the 60 day cancellation policy they have. They just charge your card period. I asked them nicely to stop charging me because i could not afford it. Jason basically told me, sorry it wasnt his problem, I signed up for it. He might be able to teach jujitsu but he really sucks as a business owner and a person! Do yourself a favor GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!EDIT: Kaneesha has reached out to me and was extremely nice and helpfully, she is working with me now to get this resolved in the best way possible. Thank you so much Kaneesha, you defiantly do not get enough credit for everything you do for this business. The only response I got from the owner is well, scroll down a take a look.
Professor Jason structures his classes in a way that provides the most detailed explanations. The other students on the mat are extremely pleasant to roll with. If you are new, come early and stay after. You are guaranteed to find someone there that wants to review the techniques with you.Jiu Jitsu Columbus has something to offer everyone; self defense and if you want to compete.
Excellent training place and fully inclusive. Since my arrival in Columbus the lessons were beyond the mat. Professor Jason is extremely professional and up to date, and a person of integrity. Always seek the news and the best way to convey knowledge. Thank you for hosting me and my son on this team and hope you can visit me in Brazil when I return.Ossi!Great teacher, thank you!

2019-09-11My little brother (11) and I (24) started training here in March of this year, and the instructors are phenomenal. Professor Jason, and Coach Rob do an excellent job on teaching the kids jiu-jitsu, and life lessons. The instructors here really go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcomed.

2022-01-04Terrible customer service. Attempted to sign my son up for a membership. Walked in and the lady at the front desk was on the phone. We waited patiently. After a few minutes we were told I needed to schedule an appointment. Never had to do that at any other gym. Then the lady at the front desk, without getting off the phone, closed the door as if we were a bother attempting to get a membership. Had a much better experience at Gracie Barra. We will be signing up there.

2021-12-17I moved to Columbus a month ago and wanted to continue my BJJ journey. Some buddies of mine trained at Blind Fury before and spoke highly of the gym so I immediately had them on my mind. I walked in one day and met Professor Jason Keaton. We talked for about five minutes and I returned that evening for class and signed up for membership. I knew I found something special. All the Professors, the staff, and my classmates are just phenomenal people. The atmosphere is conducive to learning and everyone exudes mutual respect for each other. Our gym trains high level JiuJitsu in a safe and effective manner. There are many students of varying degrees of experience who compete and win. Blind Fury BJJ is the place to be for JiuJitsu training in Columbus. Well worth the time and investment.- OSS

2021-12-15Blind Fury has been like a second home to me the past 5 months now. Besides learning high level Jiu Jitsu from 4 black belt instructors, the environment in the gym is respectful, clean, and quality. I really chose a gem with this gym. If you’re looking to train jiu jitsu in Columbus, this is the place to be.

2021-06-24This is a great environment for learning martial arts. The instructors have a deep understanding of martial arts principles and they have a passion for leading their students further on their journey to improve in jiujitsu. The training space is clean and well-maintained, and you get a sense that everyone there belongs.

2021-06-27Blind Fury is an incredible training facility. I have visited a few times now and I couldn’t be more happy with my experience. From outside the Jiujitsu community it can be hard to decide where to train and what to look for in a Jiujitsu academy when you first get started. Let me help you with that. I have trained at probably 50 Jiujitsu schools all over the United States. Good and bad ones. This place is as legit as it gets. For you Army folks at Ft. Benning, you will not find another instructor in the area that understands how to apply the fundamentals of Jiujitsu to combatives and war fighting functions like Jason Keaton. If you’re not interested in being a warrior/fighter etc. and just want to get in shape and learn a new skill to help you protect yourself and your loved ones, this is a home for you as well.

2022-01-05This is an OUTSTANDING place to train BJJ!!! The POSITIVE ATTITUDES and extreme knowledge of Professor Jason Keaton and all of the instructors are FANTASTIC! They can work with any body type to tweak the techniques to fit your size. I highly recommend giving it a try!UPDATE: After a year and a half of training I am still progressing. The office staff is second to none (Cristina!). The Professors are still as helpful as ever and help individuals improve based upon their age, flexibility, body size, and abilities. I STILL highly suggest that you give it a try no matter your age!
