We are on our 5th try to get install corrected on our vehicle. Not only cant get them to correct problem, we have to wait several weeks for yet another appointment. I would not under any circumstances recommend Kens for audio install for vehicles. Worst customer service ever.Updated review: We were immediately contacted by owner after posting original review. He initiated an appointment for the next day and the radio and new antenna were fixed to our satisfaction. Thank you owner, Kenny, for taking care of us.
Keary helped me select a stereo system for my boat. Not only did he pick out a great system but was there to assist me during the installation. I had never installed one before but he made it simple. Thanks for your help and now I will be able to listen to music over my engine on the lake.
The staff was friendly courteous and they were able to answer all my questions and fulfill the needs I had at the time. Unfortunately along with great service and quality comes a hefty price!!!! Thank God they were willing to work with me and give me payment options that I could afford. Now I have what I hope is a great sounding system! Thank you Kens
I previously purchased truck audio including two 10” subs in a truck box firing face down. Over time the audio quality declined so I finally decided to look into it. I flipped the speaker box up and see that the subs were directly rubbing on the truck floor carpet rubbing holes in the subs. I am pleased to say that after getting in contact with Kenny, the owner, I was provided a solution to resolve my issue. Kenny turned a terrible situation into a resolved issue. Thank you Kenny! You have earned a customer for life and an advocate for your business!
Went to Kens and talked to Scott very professional and helpful. Got my truck in and installed android audio equipped stereo with xm. Looked great and worked ok at first. Then it started having issues with people not being able to hear me when on calls and a host of other weird things. Went back in and talked to Kevin I believe and he looked at it and updated firmware and seemed to be ok at the time. Rolled on another day or so and right back to same problems. Took it back in they replaced the whole unit. Worked ok for a day and the right back to same problems. Stopped back by and Scott and Kevin both looked at it and we decided to try new wiring and they worked with me on getting me back in took it step by step with my phone me and their technician to see where the problem was. Unfortunately they couldnt get that stereo unit to work properly with my phone as it should have according to the manufacturer. Scott offered to install another unit by a different manufacturer in order to make sure i was happy. After they installed the Sony the( other was an Alpine) it has worked 100%. This one was a little bit more in price than the original one I picked that didnt work (but even still Scott was nice enough to help there too for all the trouble I had with the other one he made it right) So I say to Ken and your staff in Warner Robins thank you for patience, understanding, willingness to keep trying to figure out the solution to the problem. This is the kind of service all companies should strive for.
I’ve had an issue with an install of camera since mid year 2019. I was displeased with the results of the install and have since been contacted by Mr. Ken Jones where he has assured me that my issue as voiced will be looked into and resolved. It is comforting to know that my concern was not ignored and my problem will be resolved. I recommend this business. Thanks KEN for being so professional and respectfully understanding.
After spending $1,000+ on new speakers and a stereo for my car, I went home with a speaker that still sounded like it was blown out. I called them the next day because they were already closed by the time I got my car and set up an appointment to see if they could fix the issue. Car was with them all day and they said they didnt hear what I was hearing. I listened with them and I didnt hear the problem anymore as well. As Im driving home, I go to my settings and come to find out all they did was lower my bass etc until that blown speaker sound went away. When I turned my bass back up the blown speaker sound was back clear as day. Wont be returning a third time for that kind of service. The women that work at the front desk are very nice but that was about it when dealing with anyone else. The install of my stereo looks good and clean but the way I was purposefully deceived was just flat out unprofessional. This was my personal experience and I cant speak for anyone else. They probably do good business normally but that did not happen with me for whatever reason.
I brought my corvette in to get a new head unit installed. I went here because my wife heard they did good installation. Waited about 3 hrs for install (it’s to be expected). Left around closing. Came back the next day because of a humming through the speakers. Turns out wrong harness installed (attention to detail). I had to come back later that day and wait. Fast forward another day I noticed when I went to use my traction control it would not work. I took my center console apart because I was tired of driving across town and waiting. Low and behold the cigarette lighter and the traction control were not plugged in. This is a job that should thrive on attention to detail and they failed! On a another note, radio does work so they got 3 stars.
Spoke with a guy this am about buying a line output converter with installation. I was willing to pay whatever the labor rate was. I was told that the loc is part of the amp kit . When I told the guy that we already had an amp and subs installed he changed on me.I was told they had a line out converter that they could sell me but that I would have to install it. He said they were two weeks out on installations for car audio installs. Not good customer service in my opinion to change your story.
I went into Kens 3 weeks ago. I purchased a radio and backup camera for my VW, a radio and backup camera for my Jeep, and an amp and sub for my Ram. They told me that install was 2 weeks out. I said that’s fine and just asked for the next time they had 3 days in a row, I would like to drop off the car leave it over night pick it up the next morning when I drop off the Jeep, then leave the Jeep overnight until I drop off the Ram and pick the Ram up around lunchtime because it was only going to take a couple of hours. I was told that would not be an issue. I drop the Jeep off day 2 and get the VW, the camera is upside down hanging off of the lower screws, the USB to use car play is under the dash on the drivers side and no place that is useable and the mic does not work to make hands free calls. Also the Jeep camera did not come in but I was not told until I dropped it off, so now I have to have 2 appointments to get everything installed. Fast forward I take the VW back up to get fixed on Saturday because nothing worked and to drop the truck off. They call and tell me the car is ready and the truck will be done after lunch. I called back at 3 and they said my truck will be done at 6, they close at 6. I get there at 555 and it is not done, I wait around until 7 to get it. When I go to look at what was done, I looked at the sub and asked where is the amp that was supposed to be mounted under the back seat where I asked for it to be mounted, the manager said well it’s under the drivers seat, he said that’s where we always put them, I said that’s not where I asked for it to be put. I was told I could make a second appointment to get it moved. So I get 2 day install on all my vehicles now, wow what a deal. Now back to the Jeep, when I drop it off on Friday I ask if I leave it to get the radio how log to get the camera added on the next trip. Manager tells me it will be quick because they are going to run all the wires, I said fine just do that and you can throw on the camera when it comes in. Now to today my wife drops off the Jeep they tell her it is going to take a while to install the camera so it won’t be ready until this afternoon. I call and talk to the manager and question why will it take so long it is pre wired and the camera mounts behind the wheel lugs. He said well that’s right but we have 8 cars ahead of you. ???? I asked him really? Can you not knock it out, he said he would get the Jeep back as one of the first few cars......it is now 230 Really after the disaster this has turned out to be, you would think they would do the camera first thing. But I guess I expect too much. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever gotten.
Slow. Unprofessional. Low value customer service. Only getting an amp replaced. Dropped off my truck at 9am. Told me it would be ready by noon. Got there and no one had even touched my vehicle. Was stillParked in the same spot I left it. I asked why no one called me to tell me it would be longer. They replied “ I don’t know why no one called you” if you want faster service with better customer service shop around.
I purchased an audio system and installation from here a while back. The service was expensive and took an entire day to complete, but I was glad to have a system put in. It worked great for 4 years, but then the amp suddenly died. I asked them soon after my amp died and was told that I could only make an appointment to replace it. I then asked to schedule an appointment, but was told I need to bring my vehicle first. So I drove from my hometown and was told that 85$ fee would be charged to check out my system, and any replacements parts. I told them I was fine with this, but then I was told that they were too busy and for me to schedule at a later date. They didnt even want to check my system with a volt meter. Much less, the employees playing on their phones didnt seem very busy. I was a returning customer from a far away town who just wanted a troubleshoot, but I felt like I had been treated as an outcast when there was 5 employees in front of me doing nothing. I will never support this business again. I went to Sound Source nearby and was treated exceptionally, you can see my review there.
I came in yesterday hoping to get some help with an install gone wrong, that was done by someone else. The lady at the front desk was super friendly but the guy that she called over to help us, not so much. The guy bluntly told us that since we didnt buy our radio or have it originally installed with Kens, then they wouldnt do it! We simply said thanks and left. Long story short, we went to AUDIO ZOO 15 minutes later and not only did they fix the problem with the botched install , we bought $1400 worth of equipment from them afterwards and they hooked it up too!!!! Thanks for sending us away in the manner that you did, which allowed us to choose someone who saw the VALUE in us as potentially new Customers!
This place is a RIP OFF. They wasted my time and money. Ive spent a three day ride with this group. On 3/4, I purchased the speaker and screen and was told to come back on Tuesday 3/13 for installation. After waiting 6 hours , they were only able to install the CD player. The consultant did not provide me an appointment time, although management would say he gave me a time. I was only told to return on Tuesday after purchasing. Nevertheless, I had to return today to install the remaining audio equipment(speaker & amp in the car). After driving home (45 minutes away) , my speaker did not work. I purchased the speaker from Kens in 2017, but did not use it the entire time. After returning, the manager, Scott, said, “the reason it blew was because I turned the base up and my amp was too powerful.” I don’t understand how the consultant didn’t recommend an amp that would be suitable for my desired set up. Over the course of three days, I am very disappointed in this company. The consultants are extremely unprofessional. The service is extremely slow, even after having an appointment. They essentially value the sale, but not the customer. I will not be returning.Lastly in regards to the reply, a 2 year time for subs speaks to the quality of equipment at Kens. Sounding great for 45 mins is nice and dandy, but still speaks to the quality of service and equipment. I repeat I will not be returning.
I had the privilege meeting Kurt Kozee. He is so respectful, kind and funny. I enjoyed him so much forgot to tell him about my sound bar😂but he remembered before he left. He is also a great salesman I will be purchasing another surround sound system from Kens just because of Kurt services.Kurt treated me like we have been friends for life and I so appreciate that. In today’s climate we all just want to be treated with respect and love and kindness. I can truly say that is what I received today. Thank you Mr. Kurt Kozee great customer service!!!
Since the 90s, Kens has been the go to place. This is the first time I have been in years and have to say it was even easier. Prices matched online and installation was included. The sales guy took my call, had everything I needed at a good price and scheduled install next day. Happy with my decision. Would do business again.
Great deal! $100.00 for the Pioneer stereo with installation. Had to go back the next day cuz my back speakers werent set right n couldnt fade them but it only took a minute for the guy to fix it. Now I just need a good speaker for bass. Very happy with the stereo Ive got.
I bought my first car stereo from Ken’s in Macon in 1981. I have put quite a few stereos in cars since then. In fact, I had them install an upgraded system in my new 2006 Tundra when I bought it in Warner Robins. After 13 years of use, it needs updating and new speakers. After 38 years of doing business, I’ll be there tomorrow to upgrade. I have never had an installation problem in all these years! Loyal customer here.
This is a long review, but if you are considering having Kens install a radio in your vehicle, it will be worth the read. My husband purchased a new radio for my SUV in Dec. 2014. The install date was set for January 2015. On the FIRST visit, I took it in and they kept my vehicle from about 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. with no word from them. Finally, I called. They said come get it before we close, it’ll be ready. Got there and it wasn’t ready; had to go eat dinner and then return. Anyhow, when they presented it to me, the steering wheel controls would not work correctly. So, I made another appointment. To make a really long and trying story a little shorter, I made appointments and went back, to the store 4 more times over the next two months to see if they could rectify the situation. They order various parts that were supposed to make it work. The salesperson I had to deal with was nice at first, but as I was insistent that I wanted my new $1,000 piece of equipment to work correctly, he became very condescending. I honestly believe he thought I was making it up and just trying to be difficult. I even had to take my old radio up there for them to plug it in so I could prove what the controls were supposed to do. I talked with the install tech at length. Anyway, the result was that they basically gave up since they had no idea how to make it work. At this point, I seriously doubt there was any real troubleshooting going on. I think they were tired of me because I was an astute customer and they just wanted me to go away—at least that’s how they made me feel. (And, during all of this, I have to say I agree with another reviewer that the professionalism is certainly lacking at the front counter. The young lady that says ‘sweetie,’ ‘sugar pie’ and ‘honey bunch’ as every other word may think she’s being nice, but she’s over the top and this complete over-use of terms of endearment is inappropriate in any place of work, except maybe waffle house.) Back to the radio—not even four months later, I began having problems with reception for the satellite radio. It would go out sporadically and give me the error message to ‘check antenna.’ Well, I certainly did not want to have to deal with these people again, so I put up with the sporadic outages for months until it became a semi-permanent outage. I called Ken’s this past January to have them look at it. I was told warranty would not cover it because I had it two years—not true. The installation was completed only one year earlier. The whole December purchase thing confused them apparently. Anyhow, they said it would $85 just to LOOK AT IT! Then, if it needed repair, that would be applied to the cost of the new antenna, which was quoted over the phone as $99. Ridiculous! I knew it would probably take more time than it was worth so about a week ago, I called Audio Zoo. These guys are great! They quoted the price for a new antenna--$39! And, diagnosis and installation of said tuner would be $25-$45, depending on my vehicle. First off, much better prices! They got me in very quickly and had the radio working in less than an hour. It turns out the tuner was bad (it was the original and probably should have been updated when the radio was installed), which cost $69.99, but Audio Zoo gave me a $70 mail-in rebate for the equipment. And here’s the BIG KICKER to the story—remember all that trouble I described about my steering wheel controls? Well, I had not mentioned this to Audio Zoo. I had resigned myself to the fact they would never work again. But when the Audio Zoo rep called me back, he said “oh and we plugged in your steering wheel controls. They weren’t plugged in.” It was that simple!! A 15-minute fix that took me four trips and hours of my time and days at work without a vehicle, thanks to the incompetent install crew at Ken’s. As other posters have said, I won’t go back there either. Audio Zoo of Warner Robins has surely earned all of our future business!
I went into Kens to ask a question about replacing my factory car speakers. I was willing to replace them myself but after taking the stock speakers out, I didnt feel 100% comfortable doing so. I spoke with Gary (I think that was his name) and not only did he explain how much they would charge, he explained exactly how I could do it myself. In my opinion, thats a true professional! Not often do I come across someone who is willing to help you do the work yourself instead of making a quick buck.
Thank you Kens and Mr. Scott. I went in pricing new televisions after mine finally stopped working. I told the salesman I was just looking and wasn’t ready to buy just yet. However, My family and I are currently enjoying our new tv just in time for football season. Great prices and great financing available.
Took my Jeep to Ken’s to have a new sound system installed. Had a radio with Bluetooth, Sirius XM receiver, Apple Car Play and a back up camera installed. They ensured everything worked and when a problem was discovered before I left they fixed it immediately (loose wire) and I was in business. Friendly staff and eager to impress! This is the 3rd vehicle they have done for me and I have ZERO regrets.
These guys helped me when they didnt have to. I had searched all over town for a wiring harness for a JBL system. Nobody knew what I was talking about and if they did they were hesitant to help. Kens Audio staff were more than willing to not only make sure I had the right part, but walked me through the process to ensure that I didnt screw it up. Thank you! I will be a return customer!
(14 Silverado) I decided to do a full system audio upgrade. Deck, door speakers, sub and amp. These guys did an amazing job. Walked me through managing the system, how to maintain good sound quality and repaired any defects that occured during the installation without additional charges. They also were flexible in letting me adjust appointment dates. High quality audio work for what you pay for and they stand behind their work. Thank you! The system hits!
Wouldn’t know anything about service if it bit them in the rear! I called into this business looking to spend about $1,000 on a speaker system for my girlfriend’s new truck. I was misled to believe that they had what I needed, then I asked if the salesman (whom I will not mention their name) to call me as soon as he located the “VERY SPECIFIC” speaker box I had been told they had in stock. I called two more times trying to get him to call me back. It’s now a day later and I have already purchased the box, speakers and amp I needed to upgrade my girlfriend’s new truck. I guess if you would like to use this place, you need to make sure you look like a million dollars so MAYBE they will sell you their goods and services.
I was nervous to go in to a place like this alone, being a woman. I was afraid I would get taken advantage of. However, a nice young man named Scott (maybe. He had a little bit of a lisp. Could have been Scotch) helped me out. He explained everything to me and was very friendly. The prices were very competitive. Im always happy when a small business meets my standards and I dont have to shop at a big box retailer.
I noticed the last time I went in they have done some remodeling and it looks great! My husband will not use anyone else, there’s nothing better than supporting a hometown local business, especially when they provide outstanding service. The technicians all seem to know what they’re doing and Mr. Scott and Mr. John always go above and beyond to assist. Thank you!!
Had them install my home theatre over 8 years ago, went to add more speakers for atmos receiver in my ceiling and found they installed smaller 6” rear speakers and charged me for 8 “ klipsch speakers according to my receipt from them, besides a sloppy installation , don’t know why mike from kens ends his commercial with Christian scriptures when he upcharges and substitutes what you are charged with , had a bad experience through the whole install process, all I can say for new customers after you get the estimate for accessories do your own homework , unfortunately I retired and felt they would do a fair and reasonable pricing , but got taken advantage of , and his son was involved in the installation process which was sub par
Called to do business with them and was asked to send pictures. Sent them 2 times by text and one to email for a quote and called 3 different times and spoke with Scott about a price and after a week no response. Have referred several friends there in past but unfortunately poor customer service will have me going somewhere else.
I just left the Warner Robins location very disappointed. I walked into the store with 2 chidren, with an interest in upgrading my car stereo. There were 2 employees behind the counter as I walked in and neither one of them spoke or acknowledged me in any way. I walked around for about 10 minutes while trying to keep 2 children under control. Nobody spoke or bothered to helpe in any way. I was the only customer in the store from what I could tell. I dont know. Maybe I was supposed to answer my own questions and sell myself their products and services. Either way its a lousy way to do business. I was ready to buy but there was no one to selle anything. Maybe Ill try Audio Zoo and see if someone will sell me something.
Great experience! I’ve always had people i know work on my system in their back yards. I’ve been to audio zoo and kens before for small tweeks, but it always sounded a little off, or kept blowing fuses. When i let kens just take the whole system apart and rebuild it completely it was magnificent! Justin in the shop at warner robins did a fantastic job removing old wiring that wasn’t correct, replacing door speakers, amp, padding the doors for sound, installing remote start (viper smart start is really cool btw) and keeping my subs from beating the carpet. I never thought my silverado could sound this good! Thanks Justin! And thanks John for setting everything up. And thanks Dexter for overseeing the project and making sure they took care of my baby. Yall are awesome!
Horrible customer service you can be the first person there to get your work done and will not get anything accomplished after leaving your car there 4-5 hours. After stressing to a manager how upset i was about my car not being touched after being there from before they opened until noon and nothing had been done i was told they were gonna call the police on me for talking loud and acting unruly i was only able to get my refund with the police present.
Nobody was helpful at all so I ended up doing in my work myselfFunny this happens 6 months ago I called the owner like he commented on my review no answer wow what a surprise his place tries to jug me and then the owner cant even hold up to what he saysThe whole ordeal was I needed to know what I needed to hook up my speakers in my car so I wanted somebody to come take a look and they said it was going to be a $200 charge just to see what I needed that made absolutely no sense so I walked out of the store and took my business elsewhere
When I was in Georgia visiting my sister, we went into Ken’s store and I had the most amazing experience..the staff was very courtesy and informative about their products..I will definitely recommend Ken’s to all of family and friends that love in the Macon/Warner Robin’s area.. I wish we had a location in Florida

2022-04-10Went in to buy a new head unit for my truck. Don’t know who I spoke with but the process was quick and painless, along with pretty competitive pricing. Got home and installed and unit works fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place.

2022-07-05UPDATE: We were contacted by Kurt less than 24 hrs after the review. He came to the house and fixed everything along with new Bluetooth equipment the next day. We are pleased to say everything is working well. Happy they took the review seriously and quickly resolved the issues.

2022-06-03Bought some marine speakers for my harley. Although it took a little longer than Id hoped to get them. (Shipping) when they finally arrived it was a good factory fit. And the salesman in the w.r. store went above and beyond to accommodate me. Even found an extra set of speaker grills for he gave me to replace my old ones which were history on My rear speakers. Which Ill be replacing next. And ill be buying them from Kens as well. I recommend Kens to anyone in the market for stereo equipment. Thank you for your service.Kens rocks

2020-11-26Kinda really disappointed.1. I went in to have a box installed, custom if need be. Left with an all in one box and install kit. Took a bit for their schedule and my schedule to vibe so thats not my heart ach.2. I asked while installing the amp if they could hook up the FM/AM wire. Rather than call me and ask where the adaptor was, they just didnt do it.3. When I dropped the truck off I could Hotspot and listen to Pandora. When I picked it up, I could not because the sub didnt get enough signal from the head unit, so now I had to Bluetooth it inorder for the sub to work.Today, Thanksgiving day I had to go find a parking garage (raining) and pulled the head unit off to find that the GPS and WiFi adapters were unplugged, along with the MIC. Plugged everything in, tightened everything else.... and guess what? Everything works perfect. Kinda weird.

2022-01-14Had to replace the radio in my 2017 GMC because the factory one went haywire. Kens did the job for about $200 less than gmcs estimate. I got a nice Sony, touchscreen and still have all the features, such as the backup camera, telephone, Spotify, Bluetooth, and gps maps through my telephone. It took all day because of some connection issues ( gmcs fault ). It looks factory and is better than what I had.

2021-09-24**Update. I spoke with Kenny and the current manager at the location. They addressed all of my concerns. The issues mentioned in my review, below, are attributed to an individual that no longer works at Ken’s Audio. I plan on purchasing another vehicle within the next year and am looking forward to bringing it Ken’s Audio now that my confidence in their professionalism is restored**The staff was polite, and wait time for part availability was adequate, considering covid’s affect on supply/demand. However, the technicians and management at this location were not competent at all. They installed the wrong stereo and forgot to install the front camera. They didn’t properly install a door speaker (a loose screw rattled against the speaker. They didn’t properly configure the amp/speakers - one speaker was significantly quieter than the rest, despite any radio equalizer adjustments. They couldn’t figure out which part they needed to order to allow my new radio to work with a 2018 F150’s steering wheel controls. I literally had to google it myself and inform them what part they needed to use (this was after weeks of trial and error on their part). They failed to secure the sub box to my frame (a requirement from the manufacturer. It otherwise will slide forward and make contact with the rear passengers’ ankles during a sudden stop or crash). When I asked them to install it properly, I was told they lost the parts to secure it to the frame. They instead used screws they had on hand and mounted it via the back rather than the bottom. I used my own method afterwards to doubly ensure it would not slide forward. I also has to ask them to secure the amp. They literally just slid it behind my rear seat - it would move around when I turn my vehicle. Each failure mentioned above required an additional visit (there may have been some where more than one issue was addressed during the same visit) where they kept my vehicle for a day or more. Each time a decision needed to be made, the manager on site had to “call Ken” and I had to wait longer for a decision that should have been able to be made on the spot. This installation/service was a complete, inexcusable, failure. I will not use Ken’s audio in the future.

2021-09-30Ken’s wall installation of my 4G LG TV was excellent. The special trim that hides the electrical cord gives it a sleek invisible finish look along the baseboard of the wall. The LG remote control is remarkable. Justin and his installation partner were quick and cleaned up very nicely. I highly recommend them.

2022-03-04Solid work with good attention to follow-up. Recent visit for fine tuning was great. Thank you Scott!
