We had reservations and were seated late. We placed orders for two appetizers, sushi and spring rolls. Spring rolls were brought out and we ordered entrees. Ramen, kids noodles and yaki soba. Entrees were served. The kids noodles were very sweet, not what we expected. The yaki soba was okay. The ramen was just okay..I’ve made better at home. Overall the food was not impressive. Sushi still hadn’t been brought out by the time we were done eating. As we were asking to cancel the sushi order it came up. It was served to us Togo. No compensation for the wait or frustration. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, that is the only reason I’m giving stars at all.
So in all honesty your food sits at a 4 star almost 5.the hottiyaki wings were delicious.the yakisoba shrimp was so perfect from the noodles to the seasoning. to the Japanese mayo. The Shrimp were all properly cleaned which is a big thing for me. the shrimp could of been cooked just a little less or on a lower heat.cant wait to try the sushi. if not this business trip next business trip for sure.the service unfortunately was horrible. According to my receipt Yulla was our server. very inattentive . messed up right off the bat by giving me tea and my friend water which we ordered but it was given to the wrong person then to come back and refill his tea with water shows the lack of care for your customers you have. on top of this our drinks ran out several times.then we ordered 10 wings but wanted to split the flavors because its cheaper to order 10 wings but instead you dont tell us anything , such as oh we cant split the 10 wing order. instead you just charge us for to sets of 5 wings. things like this may seem trivial to some but they are a big deal to me as a business owner and with lots of FOH and BOH experience. and no it isnt about the money its about the principle of the matter. As a server you rely on tips and because of all my experience i generally tip graciously. but with that certain things like neglecting to check on the table, drinks sitting empty, not communicating about charges to the bill , etc all greatly impact your tip from me. most people dont understand or care what the service industry means.to the rest of the waitress and the one waiter yall busted your butts and i seen it. i honestly know that if i had gotten any of you but especially the waiter this experience would of been a lot better and yall would have a 4 star review possibly even a 5 star review. ill be back and I hope that this helps to fix things.
Visited this place while on a mini staycation in Epworth, GA. We are visiting again in May and we cant wait to go back. The girl that waited on us, she was new and we had lots of questions. But she made sure we new what we wanted. Food was so good and the price was very reasonable.
We agreed, the only restaurant in Blue Ridge that we will call Exceptional! Kizuna never fails to amaze, from presentation to taste. Cool and inviting atmosphere. Service is always top notch. The takoyaki are to die for!! We hope to have it in Blue Ridge for a long time. Please excuse that my photos dont do it justice!
Just opened! Nice cozy Japanese restaurant with large bar seating. We went on a Friday evening the first week they were open. Still a few kinks to work out in the service like being served food without fork or chopsticks. I’m positive those will be corrected soon. The food is very authentic Japanese. We had curry, katsu, and ramen. All excellent flavors. Portions are small but so is the price for the quality you are getting. The Sushi is authentic so raw fish, which is fine, but many of us are accustomed to rolls such as California. Maybe they can expand the menu in the future. Great addition to Blue Ridge!!
Today was the first day they were opened. My wife ordered sushi and Sho-yu ramen and I ordered the tempura shrimp and the Tonkotsu ramen. Everything was so flavorful. Tiger the chef did an amazing job with everything. The fish in the shrimp was the freshest we have had at a restaurant in a while. We will be back.
I would give it a negative 5 but the lowest I can go is 1 star. We were the first ones in the restaurant and the first to order. 40 minutes later three people in my group got their order. At the one hour mark I still did not have my order and everyone else was done. The restaurant manager said it was because we had a large group. Mean while two four people tables ate and left. Which means they served 8 people while I sat and waited for an hour. By the one hour mark I was no longer hungry. So I never got to eat.
EWWWW STAY AWAY AND CALL THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT! Went to have dinner here with some friends and we saw a mouse run thru the bathroom area. I will be calling the health inspectors.Don’t waste your time coming here, just save yourself the hassle drive down to Ellijay and eat at Okinawa, you won’t be disappointed!
Stay Away !!!We went there on winter break , we tried to make reservation over the phone- no answer! When we got there the host was upset because we didn’t had a reservation……We got a seated after 35 minutes and we were told that the waiters will be available within 10-15 minutes….We got some food after a while and some things never made it ( our waitress disappear So the owner came out to apologize for the delay and missing food “oh She forgot- no more”)I was just waiting for my check to get out and NEVER COME AGAIN !Don’t waist your time or money !!!
TLDR: Waited an hour and a half for food that was over cooked and incorrect. If I could rate this place negative stars I would. We waited 1 hour and 35 minutes for over cooked food that wasn’t even prepared correctly. Our order was forgotten multiple times, family’s came in after us. Got their food before us, left before us and we watched their tables get filled before we even got our food. When the server was asked when food would be out he said 5 minutes. It actually took another 20. My family came here because it was so highly rated. I was able to steer a few people away from staying on our way out. Garbage service. Garbage food. Garbage experience.
Put this place on your list!! Great spot for Japanese in the mountains or any place for that matter! Food was prepared perfectly and they offer a wide variety of items on the menu. Udon noodles in bowls with soup was delicious. Yakisoba spicy garlic style was a surprise hit. Sushi or rolls were prepared fresh. Even the seaweed salad was better than other restaurants I have tried. Green tea served in a traditional clay pot was the icing on the cake. Service was excellent and they were packed when we arrived for our reservation.
My favorite spot in North GA! Wish I could go more often. I really love you guys. Our waitress was spectacular and the chefs are amazing... the owner always remembers us. I feel like Im eating with old friends every time I go!So nice...If you have tried this place you are missing out LARGE! So many varieties of fun in a sake up or deliciousness on a platter...The toughest decision to make is fork or chops.Loved it!
My husband and I have eaten here twice- once in the rest and once takeout. I got Beef Teriyaki both times and it was great. Couldn’t be more pleased with the fresh veggies and the portion of meat to rice ratio is excellent. My husband wanted to get Beef Yaki Udon but was told he couldn’t order that to go because of the temperature of the contents of the food, so while it was a bummer, we appreciated it greatly that they take that into consideration while preparing meals for customers. We enjoyed the take out just as much as eating in the restaurant and look forward to our next meal at Kizuna.
Well, the food was delish. .. could have been Warmer though. However......when 3 tables that were seated after you get their food before you and the waitress tells you there is a ticketing problem....1 hour later you get your meal in pieces...by the person while others watch you eat..make sure you have plenty of time and that your not really hungry....cause your gonna wait.. awhile........then she wouldnt come back.
Food tasted ok. Looked more bland than any other Japanese food I have seen but luckily that wasnt the case. Sushi was ok. Small restaurant but open later than most in this small town. No hibachi style options. I might recommend trying it if you like Japanese style cuisine as its the only horse you can hitch that wagon to in town.
The food was horrible. It was cooked by non-Japanese. I would not recommend anyone going. It was a waste of time and money. The presentation of the food was sloopy in the plate, the pork was dry and over cooked and worst of all, the ramen noodles was actually made out of ramen, the kind you buy at the store. These people should not be advertising Japanese food at all. They have no idea how to cook it.
Great food! Staff are so nice, and make sure you have everything you need. Owners are there often, and greet you. Which is nice that they want to know everyone. Wish they would allow you to take sushi to go, though! Lol. But I think it is very wise; they inform you that the chef will not allow it due to health issues that could happen. (Not verbatim). So they not only are looking out for their restaurant, but the customers as well. Thoughtful! But really....GREAT, TASTY FOOD!
Amazingly tasty and fresh sushi in the North GA Mtns! The entres and appetizers were all delicious (even the leftovers)! I’ve had about half the menu so far now. It’s my favorite local restaurant and I recommend it to everyone. If you’re looking for a quick bite alone, date night, or eating out with friends it’s a perfect spot to relax. Even if you don’t like sushi there are lots of options for every palette.Great service each time I’ve visited as well. Can’t wait to dine there again!
Excellent. First time but will definitely be back. Shared the mixed sushi plate with all fish offered - quality is excellent. Learned from Tiger, the Japanese chef, he goes to Atlanta every Tuesday to get the freshest fish possible and it shows. Had the chicken noodle dish and shared, too - yes, a big portion of noodles but it was very good. The shrimp tempura appetizer was very good, too. Our waitress took the time to explain all the items on the menu. Speed of delivery of food was good. Went on a Friday night and we like the fact you can make reservations. Will continue to eat there and try new items. Very glad we have a quality Japanese restaurant in town - were local and it will be a nice change of pace.
DO NOT STOP HERE!If I could I would leave a zero, I would . There’s no way this place is a four star, perhaps 4/100, with the four going to the server who was trying to keep the entire restaurant from leaving . It’s obvious this place doesn’t like outside business. The only nice thing about this experience was knowing my water was purified.More money went into the point of sale systems then training their staff and management. You guys should sign up for Bar Rescue or Kitchen Nightmares.P.S. thanks for the great water!
We came in to try for the first time. Waitress tried to sit us at a small 2 person table when there were several 4 tops available. We eat sushi several times a week. After looking at the very limited sushi menu it wasn’t what we were looking for. Very limited. When the rude lady returned we asked if they had any Spicy rolls and she said no, sushi is not spicy. At that point her rudeness had finished us off. Having only 6 basic rolls doesn’t make you a sushi bar however hadn’t it been for the rude waitress we may have stayed. Also the ventilation is terrible. When you walk in, you get hit with a fog of grease smoke.
Had heard good things so was excited to try. I had shrimp curry, not what I expected. Tasted good but had to search for the shrimp. Wife had a noodle dish, she loved it. We did not try the sushi but will next time. Roll selection was very limited. Service was very good. For Blue Ridge, good place but I have several places close to Atlanta that I prefer.
We finally were able to try Kizuna and we were not disappointed at all. We met the owners Daniel and Josh. They were genuinely happy to share their love of the cuisine with us. The whole staff was friendly and made sure we had a fun experience. The food was outstanding. We had the beef curry and the Ten Don. Then we finished it with green tea ice cream and tempura fried ice cream. We will be back to explore more of the menu.
We have eaten there 3x now and the food and service are amazing. The atmosphere is great and most importantly it is CLEAN!! Nothing is better than walking into an Asian restaurant that is sparkling clean with no foul odor. 5 star and highly recommend, let’s help this new business be here for a long time to come. Also they went out of their way to make my son’s birthday the best it could be.
Im used to eating Hibachi...and that is not offered here... However the owner Josh explained to me nicely that this is an authentic Japanese restaurant. So I took the plunge starting with the tuna sushi...that was outstanding. Next I had the teriyaki chicken...again outstanding. The chef is from Tokyo. Folks, this is the real deal. Please patronize this place and ask for Josh if you have any questions. I will be back..!!JimPS...The lady who said in her comments that the meat/chicken portions were small compared to the rice....is simply not true. What they give you is way way more than adequate. Trust me on that.Oh and the place is very clean too.
As close as we live to this place, we just tried it for the first time today. My only disappointment is that weve waited so long to come! The restaurant is very clean, waitress pleasant and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back soon!!
The food was pretty good. Came out a little slow and in stages......two plates, then a couple of minutes later, two more plates, and so on. Took about 7-8 minutes to bring out eight meals, one salad, and one soup. The wait staff was excellent, very attentive and all worked together on all the tables. Very nice place, but not really prepared to serve larger parties (10 in our group). Small, intimate setting, better for 5 or less.
If you love sushi this is the place. I am a army vet where I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan so Ive eaten my fair share of great sushi. Just happened to be in Blue Ridge last weekend and heard about Kizuna. First the place looks super cool! The staff and manager were great!! Cheers to the chef!!!! Great menu and execution throughout. Cant wait to go back.
If you want authentic and some of the freshest sushi around, look no further! This place has got it going on with some of the best quality fish I’ve ever had. Tiger the chef is excellent and does not waiver from authentic Japanese style sushi. Let the fish do the talking and this place does it!
This is the most quality sushi/Japanese cuisine I’ve had in my seven years in Georgia. I had their hot green tea, salmon roll, sunomono salad and cucumber roll. I can’t wait to come back and try more apps and entrees. My sushi cravings were completely satisfied! Only wish I had a bigger stomach! Rachel did a great job as my server as well! Thanks Kizuna!
We are local to Blue Ridge as well as operating a local Bed and Breakfast, so we would be remiss in highly recommending a local restaurant as being extremely good unless it were true. Our visitors depend on us to guide them to great restaurants. Today we were able to visit Kizuna for the first time and we will definitely be back again as one of our favorites. The Tempura appetizer was so good we ordered a second. I had the sushi while my wife ordered a noodle dish. Both were exceptional. We highly recommend Kizuna. Just as good was our server who was very attentive and helpful.
Husband and I got take out recently from here, we had been thinking about trying it for a while and finally went for it. It was really good, I got the yakisoba and my husband got teriyaki beef. I wasnt a fan of the white sauce on the yakisoba, tasted like mayo, for all I know it was mayo (maybe japanese mayo? Lol) I dont think it complimented the noodles very well, but otherwise everything in the yakisoba was delicious! We also got the miso soup and felt like it was okay, wish I had tried the egg drop soup instead. Im sure we will be back, as most of the asian cuisine in Blue Ridge is not much comparison.
Limited sushi menu. Spicy tuna is grounded up stuff that has too much salt in it. Salmon rolls are 99% rice with tiny piece of salmon. Was told this is traditional Japanese... if so then how is it this is first of dosens of Japanese restaurants that absolutely is awful? Not going back as it is not worth the money.
One of the best new restaurants in the North GA mountains. The chef is from Japan and the food is truly unique. The beef yakisoba is by far the best I’ve ever had. Most Japanese restaurants have the same food (hibachi and sushi) but this place is truly different and has a simple menu that will truly surprise your taste buds! 5 stars! Highly recommended!
They have only been open 2 weeks so still establishing themselves and the variety of the menu for both traditional Japanese cuisine, sushi, and adult beverages. The prices are 9-12 for most dishes. The portions are fair. I really enjoyed the hot udon. The nigiri was fresh and good quality. Once they are fully set I believe this will be a really great food spot in Blue Ridge. Experienced chef. 10% military discount. Nice atmosphere. Great super filtered water for serving and cooking.
One star for effort and one for portion.I should hould have taken a picture of the food, but I was so hungry and excited to have found another Japanese place to try... Disappointed! The portion was good, but the plate was mostly rice. The taste was burnt soy sauce. The fish, I was told, was not usually served with the rice as the menu stated; it was wrong. I didnt even try the sushi as it was a bit costly...Unfortunately this experience set the bar way low. Props to the owners for trying a new restaurant! Unless things get WAY better I will not be back.
AMAZING!!! The food is unbelievable!! We dined here Saturday and were more than happy. I live in Buckhead and frequent UMI so was skeptical about trying a new sushi restaurant in Blue Ridge but we were up there for the weekend and heard about this new spot. First of all the owner/manager, not sure who he was but was exactly but he was incredible. I ordered the teriyaki bowl, which was to die for!!! We also had quite a few rolls and some tempura. I dont post very many reviews unless they are well deserved. This was a great dining experience. If you are in the area and dont go you are missing out!!
If I could give it zero I would. But I will give it 1 star because the ice water was good and pretty much what I filled up on. No photos because everyone else’s photos pretty much do the poor quality and quantity of food justice. I had a Oyako din chicken bowl and the preparation was terrible. Super watery, soggy, and flavorless. I do not recommend. My daughter had a chicken teriyaki bowl and it was pretty bland also. I expressed my dislike of my meal to the waitress but she just cut me off, giggled sans said sorry and walked away to tend to the next table. So overall this place was a disappointment and I will not return or recommend to anyone. Spend the same amount $$ at Panda Express and get better quality, flavor and portions.
Great selection of sake. There is a nice variety too choose from. The sushi and sashimi selection is limited and priced a bit higher than the neighboring cities. However it beats the only option for sushi/sashimi in the Ridge area. The yakisoba was very good for traditional japanese cuisine. Lunches there is no sushi chef so if you like your fish raw make sure to head there for dinner. Some of the staff was less enthused to be at work, however our server, the manager on duty, sushi chef, and owners had much nicer dispositions. So where do you get your ethnic grub on?
We are so excited to have Kizuna here in Blue Ridge. Refined, polished menu with solid execution (especially considering we ate there on their 4th day of service.) The tempura was delightful, their sushi options were simple yet of high quality and the drinks were fairly priced; far surpassing the other Asian American options available in the area in both quality of product, atmosphere and cooking technique. I’m sure that as soon as Kizuna experiences its expected growing pains and finds the staff it needs, We will frequent it often!
I really was hoping for goodness based on the pics. Wanted some grilled teriyaki chicken. Grabbed a to go order. Got home to chicken that looked boiled with some watery teriyaki flavor. Was ok. But not worth a 3, 4, or 5 rating. Looked like I made it. Didnt look like I bought it from a professional place.
This place is a gem ... Truly amazing food.I have owned a home in this area 10 years and I know now why they dont advertise.. Place is packed food amazing word of mouth...Im a native New Yorker and I know qualityFood and ingredients. Dont miss this placeIt would hold its own in Manhattan..Staff was extremely impressive..Chefs just got off the boat from TokyoNo Billy Bob chef here real deal holyfield
For anyone who loves ramen, this place is sub-par. The ingredients, pork, and even a staple as a soft boiled egg was off the mark. The pork broth was very salty like it had been reheated many times. We got only one piece of pork in my ramen bowl and only a slice of hard boiled egg (not a half soft boiled egg as at every other ramen house I have been to). Just seemed like they skimped on the ingredients while charging $12 for the name ramen. The service was the main saving grace here. Service was 4 stars, food was 2 stars, average of 3 as a whole. We were excited to go to a ramen house as we love ramen, but will not be back if this is their normal. Just a disappointment.
Called while on vaca for take out order (we have several adults and children) and was told they can’t do Ramen or udon for take out. No big deal I told them we’d call them back after we regroup. Called a couple of minutes later and someone else picked up. When she asked the other servers if someone was in the middle of taking a to go order the original girl said “yea she can wait“. Still no big deal. Then she went on to make rude comments! I started to relay what she was saying to my husband so they must have realized I was on speaker - and promptly hung up on me.
I was told this is a good restaurant. However, when I called to place a large to-go order I was told I could not order sashimi to-go. You can get sushi to-go, but not sashimi. This makes no sense at all. With everything going on with covid, I am not comfortable dining in, which apparently is required to get sashimi. This to me is unacceptable and the manager was down right rude. Preparing sashimi takes far less effort to prepare than a sushi roll. The rationale, I have no idea, nor was I explained as to why. Two pieces of advice...1. Learn to flexible during these uncertain times, as now I will never eat here and your staff will now not get tips and 2. At least have a reason for why a simple request cannot be met
First, the good—the restaurant was very clean and the staff was pleasant, though we expected to get our drinks refilled and wasn’t asked by the waitress. The poor—I had a seafood teriyaki and my husband had a seafood curry. My seafood consisted of a very few very small canned shrimp and two rings of squid, also small. My husband’s curry had one over cooked artificial crab stick and two small squid rings. I couldn’t taste any teriyaki flavor in mine while my husband said the curry was tasty. In addition to the seafood, the vegetables were either overlooked in the curry or undercooked in the teriyaki. The vegetables were sparse. Each plate had about one cup,of white rice. The appetizers we had were OK but overpriced. We were trying the restaurant for our dinner group. Needless to say we aren’t going to recommend it at this time.

2022-03-24Great food and service from Katie. I enjoyed the spring roll appetizer served with a spicy mustard that was delicious! The curry chicken with rice was also very good. This is a fairly small restaurant that filled up very quickly. Kizuna opened at 5:00 and the dining room was at full capacity within 30 minutes, with some bar seating still available. So do plan ahead if you want to dine here. Take out and reservations are options as well.

2022-03-19Our family of 4 adults and 1 child ate here and our experience was less than good. Our Ramen was adequate and could have been out of a package, the sushi took an hour and we took it to go because we had finished the rest of our meal by the time it came out, it ended up being tossed out. The only reason I am giving two stars is our server was very kind and tried to take care of us as best as she could. So those stars are for her alone

2022-04-17Second time eating here because first time was good. This time though, the hostest seemed irritated having to seat us because half the tables were empty but not yet bussed. With the bar being empty we sat ourselves there.Eventually a waitress helps us. All was okay moving forward but the waitress never brought one of our appetizers which showed up on bill. One entree was NEVER made. 3 entrees served, the one missing we watch the waitress ask the pre pubescent chefs about it and they never made it.We ask to cancel and the owner looking guy says it only takes a few minutes... No apology or nothing and by this time the other 3 entrees are half eaten already. Most disturbing, despite the entire staff being kids, this whole ordeal happened because a customer sat at the bar in a Trump hat. All the children staff were snickering and making faces and triggered by this. The owner guy too. Our waitress was even shaking she was so supposedly triggered.Very unprofessional. And I personally was embarrassed as brought family who never ate here after I raved about it.So bad service, unwelcoming to non-Democrats, and just totally amateur staff with careless management.Only plus is the sushi guy. He should start his own business or even sell sushi at the grocery store. Would be better use of his skills.

2022-03-18The food was amazing and the staff was fantastic. I got the katsu curry and it was the bomb. Definitely would recommend if youre in the blue ridge area (and frankly even if you are not). A refreshingly fresh and authentic taste in an area I genuinely did not expect this. I also highly recommend the gyoza.
