Outside the building you can already smell the food. So I couldnt wait!Inside the building is beautiful. Its also clean. We thought we were going to have a bit of a wait but we ended up being seated immediately. The waiter was incredible. Sweet and extremely help ( gave us amazing recommendations! ).We went with seating around the Hibachi Grill. The cook who made our food did an outstanding job and did an amazing performance.100% recommend coming here, its worth it!
What to say, what to say... its hard to find good Sashimi/Sushi in the area. On an extended trip from Brooklyn, NY and came here based on Google reccomendations. Service was okay, food was okay and the price was okay. Ordered Koi Sushi/Sashimi for 2, Surf Clam Sashimi, Jasmine Tea and 2 Buddha IPAs. Sushi/Sashimi was okay and presented well, rolls were tight but bland, Nigiri was made well and Sashimi was good for the most part except they served some kind of Beltfish sashimi which was 100% unscaled. Surf Clam sashimi was dry, it looked like they took one piece and fileted it into 2 pieces. Buddha IPAs were 100% overpriced. Alternative menu items were probably better.
We love Koi! We went there tonight for my mom’s birthday, and the manager was incredibly nice and seated our group right away. The food was delicious, and our teppanyaki chef, James, was hilarious! He made the evening fun and memorable. The portions are large and the prices reasonable. Definitely give Koi a try!
Ive been to Koi a few times over the last 6-months and they have yet to dissappoint! The hibatchi experiance and entertaining and fun whilst dine in gives you that fine dining approach many look for. They portions are large and will leave you with enough for lunch the next day, And the apps are expensive but well worth the money. The only reason Koi got a 4 star today was the service it was sliw and we hardly saw our waitress, I can begin to say i know what was going on whether they were understaffed or undertrained i wont be hding this against the reasturant, the food will still hot, still amazing, and i left satisfied with my experiance once again, I will be going back😁
Went to koi on a recommendation from one of my co-workers and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing, delicious, and very well seasoned. The service was top notch. The only downside was the hibachi chef was not as experienced as expected. I will definitely be back but not for the hibachi show
This is definitely NOT one of those Japanese Restaurants where you leave with leftovers. Portions are very very very small, was very disappointed...this is the only Japanese restaurant Ive ever been to that I literally left hungry. Was being generous with 3 stars and only because of our cook, the only person with a good attitude in the restaurant. For the amount we spent on several Hibachi steak, chicken, and shrimp dinners - I shouldve had SEVERAL to go boxes.
Very good experience here. Honestly, not much to look at on the outside but the inside is actually really nicely decorated. Could be a really nice date night spot. We called ahead and made reservations, place seemed to get a little busy in the evening. We ordered the dine in steak and shrimp hibachi and my daughter ordered the smoked salmon roll and California roll. Good drinks! Would come back. Could have gotten more noodles with my food but it was still very good and fresh. Pre dinner Salad was just lettuce. Expected a few more veggies for the price. Waitress was very kind and very witty lol.
I really wouldn’t even give 1 star to my waitress, Joanna. She refused to take my soup and said “I’m not taking until you’re finish!” When I finished my meal and wanted white sauce to go, she proceeded to roll her eyes and huff and puff. I will definitely come back though. The host was amazing and very helpful and my chef did a great job!
The food was fairly good and the atmosphere is nice, but if you are there on a busy night you might be rushed out the door. Was there for a celebration and we had a larger party. We ate and was sitting around visiting like you do after a meal. We were told that there was another reservation coming in and that we needed to leave. Not a very good experience for a first time guest!
Experience, Food and Service Excellent , staff was enthusiastic and polite. Our waitress very attentive on keeping our drinks full and if our meals were to our likings. This was during Friday night dinner rush. Would recommend and will be looking forward to My next visit!!
I cannot believe this was a 4.6. The only thing worth eating was the pineapple sushi roll. The food was very underwelmjng. The fried sushi and spring roll tasted like dirty fry oil and it tasted like it soaked a lot of the oil up. But honestly I wouldn’t come here at all. Upset I wasted 60 dollars.
In the past month, Ive eaten at Koi twice. I always enjoy the food, ambience, and customer service. One of my favorite dishes here is the seafood soup. The broth alone is delicious, but the fresh seafood (shrimp, crab meat, fish cake, and scallops) in the soup makes it top tier. The Katsu chicken is also delicious and super crispy (Yummmmm). The general manager (Rudolph) is always accommodating, customer-oriented, and making some of the best drinks in town. The green tea shots and watermelon coconut martinis are wonderful.
Dinner for 3 food was good service was horrible. Upon completing my meal to go boxes offered to go sauce offered 2 ler person although our third person was not allowed any.offeted to buy more never went and got them. Then had a to go order dinner for two 80 dollars only given two sauces once again tried to buy more (.50 a cup) had to go to 3 ppl after being g told by one I cant help you Im doing something. After I was finally able to purchase it another 10 min went buy before they brought it out to me and brought it with no bag. Horrible service. 200 worth of food 4 sauces and a fight when trying to buy more after you told me to buy more
These people opened recently after replacing the buffet style restaurant that was there before. The food in here is AMAZING. We got the couples combo hibachi special, and it was a great deal for the price. Also the food was amazingly prepared and it was a treat. We had steak, chicken and shrimp, and it was all prepared with an excellent flavor. Honestly better than Miyabi if I had to rate it amongst the other hibachi places in the area. Give it a try, its really great.
Food was good, server was decent, food I felt like was somewhat overpriced or crazy but that fight be due to location and inflation Idk. It was ight prob wont go back. I like taco sushi better (multi roll ordering with a slight discount is a standard practice for almost sushi place)
This was my birthday dinner & I am highly disappointed.First, the soup tasted fishy. Not sure if that was the intended flavor but thats what I got. Could not finish it.Second, I have never been to a hibachi where they give you fat with steak. Couple of pieces ok but the majority!?Last, the fried rice had absolutely no flavor. All for $100 not including tip. I do not recommend.
This place is fantastic. The presentation of the food is wonderful and everything tasted amazing. The service was also very good. My only minor complaint is the fried rice. It was a little bland, but otherwise the food was great. I highly recommend both the hibachi and sushi here.
Really nice place and food was great.Little more upscale and pricey than I first expected. Server very friendly and helpful. Hibachi chicken was great and I had plenty left to take with me since I opted for the appetizer as well. FYI: They do not serve the lunch special on Sundays.
They really go out of their way here to impress you with amazing food and friendly service. Everything that was asked for was done with perfection. Extremely upscale sushi and hibachi restaurant with reasonable prices. This place will surely take off to reasonable heights.
I love sushi and Kois but after a few times coming during lunch or dinner, today I didnt have the service I usually enjoy. I decided to order everything at once to avoid having the server going back and forth. Of course my order included dessert, which I specifically said that will be last please. Well I got the miso soup that comes with the sushi combo and right away got the dessert, which I thought it was a mistake so I told the person who brought it that we ordered to have it later, a second pass and the server comes with the dessert... I told her just to leave it there. When She brought the drinks gives my friend his beer and apparently my drink was behind my glass of water that was a small cup I almost thought it wasnt there. Maybe I just had a bad day with them but I will come back again or at least order take out.
Host/ Waiter was very rude to my mother and sister after making reservations the day before for my moms 71 birthday , we asked to talk to a manger and he stated I am the boss , which was incorrect . A actual manger I found Sayed they werent aware and was very concerned about how we were treated and the owner would call us ,
Had seafood with noodles and wife had chicken teryaki bento box and appetizers (crab Ramone and spring rolls).Nice having real glass for dinner ware and drinking glasses but cant eat the dinner ware.Food was not good... spring rolls were mushy inside; no crab in the ragone. The bento box was just okay (chicken did not seem fresh cooked but seemed to be reheated). My seafood and noidles consisted of 3 shrimp and maybe 2 scallops and just a bit of imitation crab with greasy noodles. Not at all authentic japanese; not even close. ~$60 for lunch for 2. First and last time going there.Waitress was nice and attentive but my main interest was good food. Look elsewhere for good food.
I order the wrong thing and told them and the rude fast talking dark skinned fellow, told me they already cooked it and I couldnt exchange it for something else. So he rudely snatched up the dish. Our family and guests wont be back. Very rude management. Wouldnt be coming back
Meghan, our server, was very accommodating and attentive to our booth. The food was the best part! From the sushi to our entrees, everything was perfect and delicious! The tableware set was beyond restaurant quality. Best Japanese food I’ve had in a long while, definitely recommend this place!
The service is horrible. They are impatient and got my whole order completely wrong. When I told them they got it wrong (with respect) they started yelling at me and saying oh well and even shoving their finger in my face. This place has no respect for their customers, even if they make a mistake they don’t take responsibility for it. They didn’t give me a refund or any other option. Instead they yelled and caused me to have an anxiety attack. This place is terrible. Never again coming here. I even had proof of my order and they said it wasn’t correct, just cause they got it wrong. Never go here if you expect a great experience, and great service.
The customer service was wonderful. You do have to have your ENTIRE party present in order to be seated, no exceptions. The hibachi show was great and the chefs are very personable with adults and children. The food was wonderful and awesome portions. Nice place to celebrate anything or just go to eat.
Absolutely terrible service on Sunday around 1pm 10/24/2021. We are avid sushi lovers who enjoy not only the experience but the quality behind the craftsmanship. Absolutely appalled had no issue paying just to get out of that terrible atmosphere, will never return again lesson learned if your an ACTUAL sushi eater dont bother stopping. Also if you get table #8 server just run 🏃♂️
The customer service at this restaurant is quite awful. If you ever have a problem with the food you ordered, just try to get a refund and leave. Its not worth the disrespect youll receive for asking to order something else or have your dish corrected. The man (who I guess either runs the place or is a manager here) doesnt know how to treat people. I dont know how he keeps his job as he is rude and hostile.
Service was impeccable by the man behind the bar. He was taking care of us, making drinks for others, ensuring to go orders were correct, and entertaining guests all at the same time.I had the rock and roll sushi and it was cooked perfectly. Good news is the guy got our order right with extra eel sauce and white sauce. The person I went with got the famu roll and ribeye steak and chicken with the rice. I got chicken and salmon with noodles. The food came out fast despite them being very busy and nothing was cooked wrong. She got her steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly.Everything and everyone was in sync that night. Kudos to you.
Went to Koi twice in two days. Went in the evening for Hibachi and the service was amazing and so was the food. They are also conscious not to use to much salt, which has been an issue at other Hibachi places in the past.Went back the following day for lunch as well with some different friends and my mom, as its a great lunch that is easy for those that a gluten free. Most of the food was great. It was prepared well and had great flavor. However, I cannot give my recommendation based on the lunch sushi. The rolls were not prepared well and had very little flavor. This was a stark contrast compared to the premium rolls which we really enjoyed.Overall, I would go back and we had several kids with us for Dinner and Lunch and all the kids loved it!
Tonight was our second visit to Koi. We were cruising for a lunch spot about a month ago and ran up on this place one Sunday afternoon. We sat at a table and really enjoyed our meal. The service was great. We have a tradition to do hibachi for our birthdays and my son said then that he wanted to come back for his birthday meal. Well tonight we did just that. Upon arriving, I put our name down and one of the hostess informed me that it would be a 35-45 minute wait for hibachi. I said that that was fine. So we waited. My fiancé went to go check on our spot in line as he saw people coming in being seated before us. At this time he spoke with a hostess (which we later found out her name, Tori). I don’t know exactly what she was saying to my fiancé because I was still seated, but I could see all the attitude she was giving him, rolling her eyes, hand motions and all. Then it got to a point she wouldn’t even look at him, just starred down at the sign in sheet, yapping with hand motions. Like I said, never witnessed or experienced anything like this at a restaurant like this, maybe Burger or Subway. So that was that and we continued to wait, again it was for our son’s birthday celebration. So maybe another 20-25 minutes passed and people are being seated ahead of us and my fiancé goes back up to the hostess stand to ask about our place in line. He was speaking with another hostess who was trying to figure it out then Tori walked up, with more rudeness, trying to explain that people had reservations and my fiancé pointed out that we’d been waiting over an hour and the people that were there for a reservation were 25 minutes late. Tori wasn’t trying to hear any of that. Then she just flat out and asked my fiancé if he wanted to talk to somebody else. That’s when she went and got the manager.I didn’t catch the manager’s name, but he was a young black guy. But he made sure we were taken care of. Once we were done dealing with Tori, our experience made a complete 180. The food was great, our cook was great, and our service at our table was superb. Not sure if we’ll be back to visit. If we do decide to come back, I’ll probably call ahead of time to make sure Tori isn’t working. She does not need to work in a customer-facing environment. Let her wash some dishes or something.
Finally! A good Japanese restaurant with proper sushi! We managed to come at a slow time, so we got to talk with our waitress, Angel. She recommended some appetizers after we explained it was our first time here, and they were delicious! The image below is one of the appetizers we ordered, the Ahi Tuna Tataki. The green tea we had was delicious and strong. We each ordered the Maki Lover, and it was perfect! The fish serving was generous, the cucumbers had a fresh crunch, and the vinegar (I cant remember the proper name of it, but its the stuff added after the rice is cooked) gives the rice a very faint flavor. Their maki is very good! I would have taken a picture of them as well if I hadnt eaten mine so quickly. Our waitress told us Koi has standards for what fish they will buy, and has turned back deliveries when the fish is of bad quality. To top it all off, we had a glass of plum wine. Though the image for happy hour has changed- its from 4pm to 7pm now. It was fragrant and sweet, and the atmosphere of the restaurant felt peaceful. We sat in the dining area, and it felt very spacious. There was plenty of distance between tables and booths. There is also a hibachi part of the restaurant, and a bar.I liked this restaurant very much from the decor to the service to the food. Five starts Koi! Cant wait to come back!
My first time time here and IM VISITING FROM FLORIDA I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ASK FOR CHEF BOY-R-DEE........HAD SLIGHT HICCUP WITH SEATING BUT MANAGER RUDOLF TOOK CARE OF IT WITH NO ISSUE....O YEA TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY .....SO A SPECIAL TREAT FOR THE BIRTHDAY GUY WE ENJOYED THIS FAMILY FLORIDA.. TIPS WELL DESERVED THANK YOU KOI STAFF
4 of us went here this time. It was a great as it was the last time. I think again if it hadnt been for their competitor poorly organizing their mothers day weekend we wouldnt have discovered how great they are. I highly recommend this place. The interior is beautiful, the food is top notch and the service is friendly and fast. The grill area that has the chef cook in front of you is limited, but I have never had to wait. Cant recommend this place enough, best in Augusta in my opinion.
Best restaurant ever!!! If you ever are craving sushi or hibachi, this is the place to go. The manager Rudolph is very helpful. The owners Wendy and Li are the sweetest people you will ever meet. They are so smart and always make sure their customers are happy. I never had a bad experience here! The waiters and waitresses are amazing and the cooks cook outstanding food!😁😍
The three stars is for our talented and entertaining chef, Mason, who saved our dinner. The negative review is for the older, Asian female server who, in our view, is very unprofessional and unwelcoming. If the owner is really interested in improving service he can reach out for more details and I can provide them. This was our first time dining in as I usually get KOI to go and recommend it to all my friends in the area. But last night the dining experience was bizarre in terms of service and feeling welcomed by this establishment. Even the Japanese sushi chef was cold and rude when I asked him what the painting in Japanese meant. Lastly, to the owner of KOI: please reconsider bringing back the military discount for ALL who served. You will have a better reputation in the veteran community. Thanks for reading my review.
I came here with a large party on Saturday to celebrate my nieces birthday and the service was horrible. After the server brought our drinks to the table, she never came back for refills, to move our dirty and empty dishes, not even to bring the spring rolls that came with my order. The cooks were nice and entertaining. Even the cook asked where was our server and stated he did not know what she was doing. I requested a manager and told her I know the tip is included because of the party size but we still expect a server to refill our drinks. She said they are a team and all work together. That the tip is for the cooks too. This does not explain why I havent had a server. Then she mentioned they have cameras. Im not sure what that had to do with our conversation but I told her to pull them to see how we had no service. She offered to remove the tips, which would not be fair to the cooks, so I declined letting her know the tip is not this issue, the server is. Two people in our party was missing a second meat they ordered. The manager blamed us that we did not have our food. When she did bring it to the table she started yelling at my daughter about it, even though it was not her food. She was extremely unprofessional. I do not recommend this establishment. It use to be a good place not now they have horrible service and blame their customers instead of taking responsibility.
My friend and I had dinner here last night and this was the second time I’ve been too this restaurant and it was a memorable experience. The service was good. The food was tasty. And the drink special of the night was good and cute and creative and I was completely happy and satisfied with everything. Highly recommend.
The prices are what you’d expect for authentic hibachi and sushi. We have visited four times since discovering this restaurant. All of the staff are fantastic; the choices are amazing; the atmosphere is great. We have had hibachi three of the four times and I promise you, it is worth it. I cannot say enough good about Koi; I recommend it for anybody in the Martinez/Evans/Augusta area who wants something probably not on their every day list of places to eat.
I wasnt expecting much from this restaurant as I thought it would just be a simple place but I was pleasantly surprised about how good the food was. The atmosphere is really nice and the food was delicious. Wanted to try a sweet sake and got a really good sake. Overall I was impressed and left satisfied.
I have had the pleasure of eating at different hibachis in different states. This has been by far my favorite!!! The waitress was quick, efficient, friendly, and kind without hovering. Mason, our chef, was entertaining and the food was amazing!!! The atmosphere and decorations were wonderful! The whole experience is one I look forward to repeating! This will be a mandatory stop for everyone who visits me.
I ate lunch at Koi restaurant for the first time today. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the hibachi chicken, clear soup, vegetables and rice. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our waiter, KK was excellent. Its a little on the expensive side, but well worth the cost. Ill definitely go back. I highly recommend Koi
The food is good. Service is good. Went there before and they give military discount for anyone that served. Went today and only give a discount if you are active duty. Inconsistent. The manager told the waitress not to apply the discount. That was disappointing. It will be a while if I ever return and all over $7.50.
Service was pretty terrible. The waitress had very little to no clue what sauces were dairy free and wouldnt go get answers. She was also incredibly pushy about our meal order even after we ordered an appetizer and several beverages. The food was fine, the menu had a lot of great options, and the interior was grogeous. We just had an awful waitress.
Visited here for lunch today with friends. Came to Augusta to go to the final cut thrift store. The restaurant was very clean and looked newly renovated. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. The hibachi chicken and sushi were great. You get a lot of food for the price, which was not too high. Recommend sharing if you don’t eat a lot. Will definitely be back if we are in the area. :)
Food was great server name Yun was horrible. Her demeanor was absolutely ridiculous. She made me feel as tho she was prejudice. She didnt smile not once, even when we smiled and said thank you. She zoned her customers out, it was only about getting the 12;orders in. I ordered a Xtra side with my meal . I said I want rice and noodles, she said (speaking non stop over me) not even concerned about what I was trying to say. I knew that only 1 side came with my order.. she said u a very attitude manner, another side $4.99. you only get one I said yes I Kno. She acted like I didnt have the money to pay for my meal. I ordered a beer and I told her I wanted it when my meal was ready. She had it bout on out anyway. I had to end it back. She talked to us as thou we were kids, Im 63 and it was my birthday. She upset 11 people. The only reason why not 12 was because one was a 4 year old. We had to report her to management, We did get another waitress even before we reported her. When she served the tea ( remind you I asked for a beer when my meal came out, but I asked for tea with lemons for now) She didnt give me tea, my friend gave me hers so we asked for another one. She yelled thats not yours reaching for the tea at the same time. My friend said I gave her mines, its her birthday. We only asked for another tea her attitude was awful. The whole adult party will be putting in a review. Thank you
Their Tuna Lovers Rolls and Spicy Tuna Crunch Rolls feature lots of fresh, high quality tuna. The chefs are legit. Presentation is beautiful. Taste is as good as youll find. I assume this place has a serious buyer who goes to the coastal markets to buy tuna. Its not your run-of-the-mill sushi joint.
I ordered the seafood rice and I received a plate of fried rice with 3 shrimp, about 5 scallops, IMITATION crab, and some mystery meat that was not listed on the menu. When the “manager” arrived to my table he was very blunt and cold and lacked the level of communication and additional managerial skills needed to find a resolve for the issue. I chose not to order a replacement meal and when the bill came the seafood rice that I sent back was listed on the tab with 50% taken off of the returned meal. When I asked the manager why it was still on the receipt he stated because the food was on the table longer than 10 minutes even though I hadn’t eaten anything more than a single bite. I guess that made sense somehow in his head however, I had him to remove it from my tab as it should have been initially. I will not be returning to this place.
Loved and continue to love the sushi... Ive been twice already and its damn near perfect everytime.. I tried the spice crab roll with the spicy mustard ..perfection the sweet potato roll .. Omg those two are my top fav .. Will be back if i could afford to eat there everyday i definitely would.!! Awesome customer service and atmosphere .. Its a vibe!
Food was excellent. Service was superb! The waiter Isaac, was fantastic. However, mixed drinks were extremely overpriced. A Titos Vodka and tonic was $14!!! Being that we do have a couple cocktails with our dinner, a bar tab of $84 for 6 drinks is absurd!!! Doubt that we will be returning.
The food was great. I love the inside look and the bathrooms were clean. Attentive waitress and great cook. Sweet tea was good, yumyum sauce was watered down, ranch is ok(can be better), soup is watered down(had to add salt and pepper). Overall is good but no comparison to Miyabi! Also it was no wait/reservation unlike Miyabi. That was a plus.
This restaurant is beyond amazing! It has a great atmosphere,is very clean, the food is fantastic and the staff complete the experience! We had hibachi and were celebrating a birthday. Nick, our hibachi chef was so much fun! Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the experience and left asking when we can come back! Portion sizes are large so make sure you bring an appetite.
Been to Japanese restraunts my whole life. This is one of the worst. The staff all looked and acted like they hate working their. The waitress was rude, the place was dirty, and the service was crazy slow. The filet mignon as well as the regular steak are paper thin and poor quality, sodas were all flat, ginger dressing is more like mustard sauce and I can go on and on. Actually had a live slithering worm on the floor in the dining area.. do your self a favor if your in augusta go to miyabi
Sushi was okay not great. The place looks nice at first glance however there was black mold on the vents a lot of dust and dead bugs in the windows. Simply not kept up for higher class Food Restaurant. Service was ok I had to wave down my waitress twice. But overall Ill give it 3 stars bc Ive been to worst.
The food here is delicious. There was a long line but if you call before hand for reservation it was not a long wait at all. Service is quick and our server was very attentive. The price is fair and the rolls are awesome. We pick different rolls so we can taste a bunch of them. Well all i can say is we were stuff after eating here. The presentation of the plates are cute too. We will surely be back. I give 5 stars for the food, service and the ambience.
If you like high end Japanese or Japanese inspired food, this is a restaurant worth coming to on pay day or a special occasion.I am particularly fond of sushi, and theirs is probably the best in the CSRA.Their hibachi, according to my husband, is spectacular. The atmosphere is breath taking. Minimalist, but beautifully balanced with splashes of color, elegant stone work, lovely little sand gardens, and a few gorgeous bonsai. If there are children, though, beware if you are sound sensitive. (I am to high pitched noises)Its very pleasant when the patrons are adults, but the squeal of a single small child echos off the stone walls and hits my head like a hammer blow. This is no fault of the staff, just something for people with noise sensitivity to be aware of.Wait staff are attentive. Food is spectacular.Definitely worth every cent!
The food is amazing, the decor is tasteful, and the chef...request for James the chef if you go. He was the most charismatic and entertaining hibachi chef Ive ever seen! If I could rate 10 stars I would. Our server (didnt catch his name) was extremely polite the whole evening and was on top of refills etc. as well. Love this place, and definitely going back!
This is by far the best hibachi place in Augusta! I love the atmosphere. The food was delicious and there are so many options here. They have a great bar and great customer service. We didnt wait long for our food and we didnt wait long to be seated either, since we chose a regular seating vs hibachi seating. Overall, the experience has been amazing. 5 stars all the way! Do yourself a favor and come to koi!
If yall havent tried Koi Hibachi and Sushi, you are missing out big time! I have been there for sushi and been very pleased with them, but as a reward for the boys making A honor roll we went for hibachi ( or as the boys call it the cook in front of you place ) and it was amazing!!! Our server Angle was delightful and very attentive. She had a great sense of humor and was just an absolute sparkle of positive energy! The veggies were definitely fresh and the meat was cooked to perfection. I cant stress enough how much we enjoyed this place! Go now! Ask for Angle! You wont be disappointed!
First time trying this restaurant and I dont regret it! It is so spacious and clean inside. The staff was courteous and attentive. Food was so fresh and good. My daughter and I were there to celebrate our birthdays with lunch. The staff made us feel so special with a song and a desert. Will be returning.
The soup to start my meal was warm, but not hot. The taste was good, but my partner doesnt like soup to not be hot.The ginger dressing did not taste right.too acidic. My actual food was fine, they use too much teriyaki sauce. They also threw away the onion volcano instead of adding it to the veggies which was weird and wasteful. The chef was fun and interactive though and did a trick I hadnt seen before, which I liked. The prices were fine, middle of the road. Service was pretty good. The menu has many, many spelling errors. Like, I find even understand how they fit so many in there.
This place is amazing. The food is amazing and thr staff is great! I PERSONALLY suggest Nana (Leanne) as your bartender because she makes the best drinks when me and my friends come to this restaurant. She creates her own drinks and puts then on the board and they are just, fabulous! Because of Nana, I keep coming. She is friendly and knows her stuff! She helps me choose what to eat because it looks and taste amazing. If anyone ever goes to Koi, ask for Nana (Leanne)! She is always at the bar! That is her home and she does an excellent job. She is my reason that I keep coming.Be careful where you sit in the restaurant though. An employee that works there (red hair) sat in one of the seats with nothing on and bragged about rubbing her body parts all over the chair So, I hope they also sanitized that area she sat in. Besides that, they keep the place cleaned and sanitized after each customer! 😊
Excellent all around! Food tasted fresh, server was very attentive, the establishment was clean, great portions. Enjoyed our Hot Summer sushi roll. Nicely decorated inside, too. I didn’t care for the taste of the ribeye and it was overcooked when I asked it to be cooked medium, but my husband enjoyed it.
I have enjoyed sushi for a while now, but since going to Koi I have a new found love for it. I have dined there on several occasions now and have never been disappointed. Its a wonderful flexible environment with quick service and remarkable and beautiful food that is priced at an understandable rate. Especially the lunch specials! I have been wanting to give a proper/well deserved 5 star review for Koi for a little while, but decided to wait until I had the full experience since my mother came to town and wanted to go out for Hibachi. I knew I had to try Kois. It was just as good as I was hoping with generous serving sizes and a very fun and entertaining chef! My favorite place to splurge and go out for a date night or grab a quick lunch. Highly highly recommended for both a hibachi and sushi experience!
This trip was very disappointing. We have become regulars (2-3 people), tonight we invited 2 more friends for their 1st visit. We were greeted by our waiter. We placed a large sushi order to share. When the order came out we asked him what each item was... He could not give us an answer. So, we began to devour WHAT IS ALWAYS GOOD FISH. As we ate... we discussed certain food items were definitely missing...the waiter must have felt the same because he asked us, what was missing? We told him what we thought we had not received, he agreed. A few moments later (with no warning) A MANAGER CAME OUT WITH AN I PAD and debated our table in an aggressive/disruptive manner (so much so that she caused our small child to start screaming) about what we had eaten as if we were trying to pull something over on them...with a 350 dollar tab. Seriously, not happy with her managerial skills...will be happy to take our business back to Toki on Furrys Ferry or Miyako in the future to spend our hard earned money.
Went for the first time last week. Really nice place inside, everything looked really clean. The service was great from the server to the chef. The food was really good and fresh. My husband and I had filet mignon and fried rice. The kids had hibachi chicken with fried rice and some lychee soda. We really enjoyed eating at this restaurant and will definitely be back for more. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Made a reservation for my daughters 17th birthday, but the hostess had a hard time finding reservations at all. There were longer than normal gaps between seeing our server. Our dishes were never cleared during service and it took too long to get drink refills. A couple with us didnt get their sushi roll until after we were all mostly done eating. If youre going to have a hibachi restaurant in a city with five other hibachi places, you gotta stand out. Our chef wasnt particularly entertaining and mostly just cooked. He didnt do anything I hadnt already seen and wasnt funny or particularly good with execution. The food was good but nothing special, and this costs too much for nothing special. Their sushi menu does look impressive and Im interested in trying the rolls next time but the hibachi is just not worth it.
The food is always delicious. Our first time was for the grand opening. My husband and I have been going every since. We tell everyone we know to just try it and we guarantee them that they want have any regrets. This place has the other two places in Augusta beat has down. Food, atmosphere, value and customer service
I have been at this restaurant a few times now due to the food being awesome. I usually like to come with someone so that I dont have to eat alone. This week I had to go alone so I sat at the bar and Angel made me feel right at home. She suggested a drink for me since I usually dont drink alcohol and I am so glad she did. I remember seeing Angel in the dinning room a few months ago and wondered where she had went in that absence. Truthfully I had thought about not coming back because I kept hearing the other girl (not Angel) behind the bar complain to other customers about the restaurant and her fellow coworkers. Ill be making sure that when I come again to Koi that I will be asking for Angel and will always sit in her section.
My first time here, I took my fiancé expecting great service and great food from the previous recommendations from my friend. We got there a little later in the night towards closing, but Lee, the manager, made us feel extremely welcome. He brought out a plate of sushi for us to try and explained all of the fish, which was a great way to start our meal off. Which brings me to our experience with the hibachi, our chef was very personable and hilarious. He cooked everything fast and perfectly and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. Our server was extremely attentive and polite. (Full waters the entire meal) this will be our new go-to date night spot. We appreciate y’all making us feel at home. Thanks again.
Food was very good. Sushi and Sashimi was fresh. Service was outstanding. Lots to choose from on their menu. Only big issue was it was very cold inside, not cool but cold. Got to a point wanted to finish to get outside to warm up. Bring a sweatshirt and enjoy the food, its worth it...
Went to this location yesterday. My friend recommended me to go to this location she said it was very good. I asked my mother-in-law if she would like to go eat at this place so we did. We got there and we were seated it took about 15 minutes for our waitress (Hannah) to ask us what we wanted to drinks when she brought us our drinks back she asked us if we knew what we wanted. We placed our orders it took about 15 minutes for our salads to come after that took like another 15 minutes for our soups to come out which was not even hot . Out of the whole time we were there she probably came three times to our table. When it came time for our check She brought us one check with both our orders On it she never asked if we wanted to be together or separate. We explained to her that it needed to be separate and let her know what I was going to pay for. Which was the last three items that were on the ticket and I gave her $40 for that and my mother-in-law gave her her credit card. The other family that was there asked for to go boxes and we asked for some as well she later comes back and she only has three boxes with no bags so we reminded her that we needed boxes to go as well as bags to. So then she comes back with my mother-in-law‘s credit card but not my change and she walks away when the waitress comes by I stopped her and asked her where is my change. She said let me go speak to my manager at this point I was annoyed so I told my mother-in-law let’s go speak to the manager. When we got to the manager we explain to him what we needed to be done so he can fix it, took about 15 minutes for it to get fixed but we appreciate the fact that he took the time to fix it. I came to work today and spoke to my coworker and made her aware of my experience crazy thing was when I explain this to her and let her know who my waitres was i looked at my receipt it had “Hannah” turns out she also had terrible service with the same waitress. I would’ve asked for a different waitress. Besides that the cool was wonderful my toddler loved the show. You need to hire waitresses that know what they’re doing and not just anybody since you’re just now opening bad service means bad reviews.
What an amazing experience I must say. Our servers that were working together were just as amazing. These girls were a trip! The sushi suggestions and sake suggestions were 100% for us! The sushi is by far the best we’ve ever had and the beef negimaki was to die for!! Everyone was very friendly but Angel and Jess were on top of everything! It was a tad busy from our point of view but we didn’t wait long at all. We can’t wait to go back and try something new. Thank you for such a great experience Koi!!!

2022-01-02Best hibachi experience in Augusta/Evans. The hibachi show is always entertaining. Some cooks are more entertaining than others. Each hibachi grill seats 8, so bring a large group if you want the table to yourselves. Their salads are premade and usually have too much dressing so ask for plain salad with dressing on the side. And definitely try their sushi and sake menus! Theyre really good.

2022-01-01The atmosphere is very nice and calming. Sushi wasnt consistent between visits; however, flavor was good. Miso soup was yummy; it couldve used more tofu as there were just two tiny pieces (tic tac size) in my bowl. (Pictures are from two different visits)On one occasion, we ordered meals. The fried rice is VERY GOOD!!! Vegetables and terriyaki chicken were as expected. On two trips, the service was spectacular! Last trip, it was not.We do enjoy eating here. Hopefully, they will find some consistency.

2022-02-05The sushi was lovely to look at, and delivered quickly. The hibachi chef was entertaining very lively and checking in to see if everything was good. I have a mushroom allergy so the cooked the meats and some veggies separate for me before doing a large veggie with mushrooms for the rest of the table service, I appreciate that greatly as it is a health concern nit preference. They do a saka squirt that surprised everyone. Over all good atmosphere, down a star becuse the salad was kinda slimy, the dressing was super thin, watery in hubbs words. Small human said rice was good but greasy, and I agreed hibachi was a bit oily for my tastes but still good, and portions where rather large compared to others in city.

2022-05-02It was the best japanese I have had in this area. the food was great and well portioned compared to some of their competition. My only gripe is the reservation call doesnt seem to matter much as 2 different family walk ins got seats before us. We arrived 5 minutes early but still waited 15 minutes.

2022-03-06Had one of the best times here with my friend doing the hibachi option where they cook in front of you and I gotta say it was amazing, the chef came and made so many jokes while cooking we both couldnt stop laughing the whole time. The food was absolutely perfect too, I got the filet steak and it was perfectly medium rare which was surprising but a good surprise and the appetizers, drinks and atmosphere were great. 10/10 would recommend the only thing Id say watch out for is a bit of smoke when they first started cooking if you have a hard time breathing but it goes away fast!
