Korea House Restaurant in other cities:
I have drove past this place more times than I can count and today was my first time ever eating here. This place is awesome. It has a cozy atmosphere and the staff is extremely friendly. This food is delicious and the service is really fast. I recommend coming to this place if you like Korean food. I will be coming back!
Ive just had my third visit. The food is consistently delicious. They have the best Ramen in town!!!! I like to eat in on my lunch break. Seating is grouped, so bring family or friends if you dont want to sit at a large table alone. Prices can add up quickly so be mindful of what you order if youre on a budget. Parking is tight so be aware. Last, please do not expect to walk into a five-star, brightly lit, resort style restaurant. The Korea House is a homey, comfortable break from the realities of the outside. Enjoy your meal!
My office is within walking distance to the restaurant. Ill usually eat here once every two or three weeks. The spicy pork lunch plate is a great deal in my opinion. Grab their restaurant card and get it stamped so that after 9 orders, youll get a free appetizer. Great food all around! I have never been disappointed with their food - it really is awesome!
This was our first time going to Korea House and the food was absolutely delicious. The fried dumplings and egg rolls were cooked perfectly. We got a variety of plates to try as it was our first time and the chicken was a hit with our group. My boys enjoyed the beef. They are open for dine in but served in to go containers which was fine with us as we had leftovers. The only draw back was drinks were from a freezer and the sweet tea option was not the best. We will definitely be going to eat there again.
Hands down the best Korean food I have had since coming back from Korea 2 years ago. The food was delicious and as authentic as you can get without being in Korea. I ordered the Bi Bim Bap and I scarfed it down and wanted to order a to go plate, it was that good. My wife ordered the beef lunch plate and there was enough food on there that she got full and filled a to go box with enough food for a whole other meal. You will not be disappointed with the food or the service. If you are looking for a fancy place to eat, this is not the place, but what delicious, authentic, hole in the wall that only locals know about, is a fancy place? The prices are awesome! For all our food and drinks with tax, was $21. This is a restaurant we will frequent quite often!I forgot to take a picture before I threw on the Bi Bim Bap sauce and stirred it up.
Fantastic! When it is a dreary day, we pick up beef soon dubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) from Korea House, and it always hits the spot. It is the ultimate comfort food, and they do a great job with it. Both the steamed and the fried mandu are excellent. The prices are unbeatable.
Everything was delicious! I would highly recommend this location for any lunch time meal. You just walk in and snag a booth or table. Also, for the prices you really cant beat what you get! For a large bowl of ramen, 8 piece kim bop and banchan, it was only $12 with tax. I had so much ramen left over I had a nearly full container to take home.
I always enjoy their food here. Sometimes I think its a little pricey, but then I see how much I get, and I remember that its soooo worth it. The staff is so friendly, and although Ive learned to order in advance, I always like hanging around to chat a little bit. I got takeout for my birthday, this is my glorious plate. So damn good.
This is some of the best Korean Ive had. I frequent here fairly often and am never disappointed. I love the side dishes that come with the main entrees, and the best part is that you get unlimited sides! The staff is very friendly. Warm and welcoming.I recommend this place to anyone who loves Korean or wants to try it for the first time.
We really liked this place a lot! We went with our whole family. My husband and I shared a two person meat special that came beef, spare ribs, chicken, and crispy chicken. I didnt care for the crispy chicken. My favorite was the spare ribs, the grilled chicken, and then the beef. The meal comes with a lot of sides. I didnt know what they all were but one of them was kimchi, one of them was like a sweet potato noodle type thing, one I think was bean sprouts, and one was cucumber. Plus we changed out our steamed rice for fried rice. You wont leave hungry!
Great food , friendly staff , clean dining room Ill go back but I wont dine in again cause I dont want to spend my lunch hour trying to eat while rap music is blaring from the counter .... But honestly the food is really good just not a comfortable atmosphere due to the loud music
The food was good but they are serving everything in take out the lady that took my order was rude and was rushing. I used my debit card and asked if a drink was included with lunch special. She swiped my card then said no. I wasnt about to swipe my card again for just a drink. The ladies co worker gave me a bottled water since she knew I was eating there.
For those of you that its all about the food I give this restaurant four stars. I love their lunch menu and its reasonable prices. They presently only do takeout, and the manner they do it is where I have issues with them. The dining room is blocked off and the area where you pick up and pay for your meal is no more than 12 by 12. No room to social distance, and then a sign saying they dont consent to enforcement of mandatory mask requirements. Sure enough there were several patrons with their masks off. Just a heads up if disease spread matters to you.
This is my favorite Korean place in town! The owner is very hard working and generous. He ensures his customers will want to come back. The staff are very pleasant. The food is always hot and tastes great. They have the best sides. I always take family here when they come into town, and recommend it to my friends.
If you are looking for authentic Korea in cuisine this is absolutely the place. I spent a year in Korea and it was almost like I never left. The food is excellent and the speed is very fast. The building may not look like much from the outside But dont let that stop you from going in and having some of the best Korean food youve ever had. I ordered so much food that there was no way I could finish it. I will definitely be back again soon!
Back in town for a conference and just had to eat here. It was just as delicious as I remember! They are so nice and the food is just fantastic. My friend who had never eaten korean said if all Korean food was that good she would try anything they offered. Dont skip over this place just because it is small. It is worth going out of your way, if you must, to eat here.
I have been here off and on several times over the years and found that under the new and very friendly owner (family) this place only gets better each time I visit. Under the boss suggestions I always try something new and never feel disappointed in the selection or service rendered. Truly amazing how they can have such good food for such little cost, and the servings are no joke... make sure you tip well, because youre going to want to come back, again and again. BTW, I ate chicken bulgogi on my last visit and it was awesome. Enjoy
My wife had ordered the 2 Person Dinners To Go and it was good with 4 main entrees, 2 servings of sticky white rice, and 2 side orders, including 2 kinds of Kim Chee (Cucumber and Cabbage) for 2 hungry folks to enjoy...Her Mom was the original Owner +- 20 years ago!!!
We have been here on several occasions, our most recent visit was 10/11/2019.On every visit the food was delicious and the service was excellent. Theres a good variety of meals and soups to choose from and they offer generous portions. Go early for dinner, the seats fill up fast.
My husband and I loved the chicken Raman I ordered mine without eggs (I dont like them). We ordered the mild but you can order them as spicy as you like. The serving size was great (we had leftovers). The service was great. The sweet tea was good. The cucumbers was amazing. We also ordered a 6 piece Mando. They were really good seasoned very well and crispy. Overall Korea House Restaurant really did impressed us. Thank you. Awesome job.
So this place probably ranks #2 as far as Korean restaurants go in Columbus. My biggest gripe is that they dont employ enough servers so when it gets busy service is really slack. The food however is good so if you dont mind waiting for a table and slower food arrival during busy times then I recommend trying this place. They have a decent selection of your typical Korean fare, mini plates for the kids, good soups and meats.
I have been a consistent visitor of Korea house for as long as I’ve lived in Columbus (about a year) and have never had a negative experience. The food is solid, the banchan is top tier, and the place is just generally very good. That being said, all of my expectations were exceeded when COVID-19 came to town. This was one of the fastest businesses to adapt, at first by keeping the door open and limited contact take out. Since then they’ve gotten even better, you call in for your food, step up to the door where entry is blocked by a table (with a bell and hand sanitizer) and an acrylic panel at face level, and there is very little contact. It is truly a great place which has stepped up to protect themselves and their customers. I couldn’t recommend them enough.TLDR: great food, great service, great place.
Excellent Korean cuisine; very homely feeling to the restaurant as well. I love the ramen in particular on colder days; the warm, spicy broth is fantastic. A fair note of warning: if you arent sure how much spiciness you want, go mild. Its pretty spicy as is, and only gets more intense.
I love authentic restaurants like this! I ordered the japchae and the fried rice omelette and it was delicious. The rice was so soft and flavorful! My husband ordered the chicken katsu lunch plate and he loved it. It’s a small restaurant that fits 50 people at most, nothing fancy. The lady who served us was nice. Food came out within 10 minutes. It’s cheaper than most Korean places we’ve eaten at and the portions are generous. We will definitely be back whenever we’re in town.
Ate here for lunch in October 2012. The food was well-cooked, well-spiced, and very well plated. The meal was filling and delicious and the staff was incredibly courteous and prompt. My first time at a Korean restaurant, I am unfamiliar whether or not it is customary to serve appetizers without plates, but it does seem unhygienic to stick my fork from my mouth right back into a common dish. Aside from that tiny gripe, though... this is a great spot to grab a satisfying, affordable, and quick lunch for three.
EASY vegan optionI called ahead and asked if they had any vegan options. They indicated the bibimbap could be veganized by omitting the egg and using tofu for the flesh. It was SO EASY.The vegetable quality was good. The tofu was cooked well with a nice, crispy outside. Staff was friendly & helpful. Sauce on side was spicy which I like. The prices were in line for Korean restaurants. The surroundings were pleasant enough/not fancy and clean with ample seating. Service-4 stars, value 3.5 stars, taste 4 stars, speed 4 stars.Easy to veganize, I will return when in town again!!!
The beef lunch was the perfect amount of food for a great price. The beef was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The kimbap was great and I highly recommend giving it a try to anybody who decides to drop by. Ive eaten at a couple Korean joints in Columbus and Korea House has been the best.
Excellent family owned and family run Korean restaurant. The food is truly delicious! The soups are fabulous and come out piping hot! The Bulgogi is excellent with that wonderful, grilled flavor! They will prepare it as mild or as hot as you prefer. I love the kimbap and the cucumber kimchi. I truly look forward to eating here often!
My favorite place to eat in columbus. Great food and great prices. I recommend the lunch combinations since you get a lot of food for the price and they are served all day (the chicken and pork are my favorite), Udon soup, and the ramen. They have the best sweet tea ever and staff is friendly and helpful to any questions you have. The only thing that would make this place better is if they had more selection in the side items. If you like korean food, I recommend this place.
The beef and chicken bulgogi is off the chain and the lunch plater is a great meal for lunch. The hot wings r delicious and the secret salad dressing is finger licking good. Every thing the owner makes is yummy and the hospitality is second to none. Small inside but big in flavor and taste. Everyone who has gone has always returned. Try it for yourself very soon!!!!
Always great food. If its your first time, try the fried rice omelette(with your choice of meat) with ketchup if you like ketchup, and the mando (dumplings appetizer). The initial sides that come with everything are- cucumbers with vinegar (try it, its good)- Kimchi: fermented cabbage. Also spicy- fish cake. Tastes like teriyaki chicken to me- sprouts / bean sproutsAlso they have korean/Asian ice cream bars.
Ordered a 2 meat dinner plate of Katsu and Short Rib. The Short Rib was amazing. The Katsu... just okay.Has an itch for Ramen and they had it luckily. I had a shrimp ramen bowl and it was really big and filling. It tasted like a super yummy version of any top ramen youd get at the convenience store. But way tastier.Lady was a bit forgetful about refilling our water but it started getting busy too. Nothing to complain about.
Absouletly loved this place! They have amazing Korean food and the people that work here are extremely friendly to newcomers if you are unfamiliar with some of the food they will gladly explain what it is to you if you ask. Definitely would suggest this place to other people.
The lady who runs this place is adorable and wonderful. She happily bounced around trying to bring every side dish she could think of with our main courses, and to our surprise we suddenly realized that she was playing the music too on a little electric organ in the corner. She noticed that we had Bibles and played hymns. Then, when our meal was complete, she came over to the table with a guitar and played You Are My Sunshine... Ill be coming back!
Really enjoyed the Korean food here. After spending a year in Korea this is the closest Ive come to what I remember and the variety is excellent. We had the Be Bim Bap and the beef Bul Go Gi and bot were excellent. The steamed dumplings were very nearly as good as the best steamed dumplings in Seoul. The only reason for the 4 stars is the kimchi and sides just arent very good. The Korean place on Victory drive has amazing kimchi but terrible food, if only they could combine!
Under new management. Stopped by for lunch today and ordered the Bul Go Ki lunch plate with some miso soup and kimchee. The format has been Americanized but the food remains authentic Korean. The staff was attentive and friendly. They try very hard to please. We will return again soon.
Korean BBQ dishes are specialties. While the dining area was clean, it was cluttered and had no discernible décor. Service was prompt and polite. The presentation was nice; a platter of fermented vegetables to include cucumbers; a spicy soup; and the entree were all a pleasant surprise. Several GIs were eating there; probably had served in Korea. The majority of guests were Korean. I would eat there again and probably order a soup dish which I noticed others eating; looked like it was bubbling with lots of steaming vegetables.
Who would use Teriyaki chicken for Chicken Ramen? This restaurant does. That was a nasty nasty Chicken Ramen. It seemed like they used leftover Teriyaki chicken for making Chicken Ramen and it made whole ramen taste sweet and weird. Just hope they didnt use the leftover Teriyaki chicken from other peoples dish. Also, the Korean waitress lady (or maybe the owner?) had an attitude which made us feel like we came to a wrong place. I would never go back to this restaurant or recommend to my friends.

2021-11-25For a quick Korean meal at a reasonable price, this is it. Served it to-go containers, this food is made fast and made so that you don’t have to ask for a box later. The bibimbap is excellent and beautifully presented. The japchae (noodles) is a massive quantity and so delicious. The banchan is fine (kimchi not my favorite here). They also do fried pork and other dishes that were also excellent. For $40, we couldn’t even come close to finishing all the food we have.

2021-10-02I needed a quick Korean comfort food restaurant- and this place does just that! I ordered the cucumber salad, kim bop beef roll and Chicken lunch plate. It was plenty to share and all delicious! My son couldn’t get enough of the cucumbers! The sweet service was icing on the cake. Thank you and we will be back soon!

2021-11-17My sister and I went we both had the chicken Ramen. Her spice level was 3 and I had the 2 (med). The Ramen took some time to come out but they have us a complementary side of cucumber salad and I think cabbage of some sort because it took a while. The cucumber salad was good it taste just like vinegar and cucumber that you let sit in the refrigerator. The Ramen was good, I didnt eat the chicken but my sister did and she liked it. She stated that it taste like the chicken from chicken on the stick, it was grilled dark meat chicken. The broth is beef broth and I dont eat beef so I choose not to eat the chicken thats the only reason. If youre spice intolerate I would suggest getting a 0 or 1 spice level. 2 and up is spicy but 2 & 3 are tolerant if you like a little spice. The restaurant was clean and the young lady up front was very personable.

2022-01-22Do you see the 5 stars. In reality its 10 stars Ive havent been to many places where everything we ordered was delicious. This is the best Korean food Ive ever had and Ive had a lot. The only bad thing is I didnt come here sooner. My belly will have to live with that. But I will make it up by coming here REGULARLY. I hope they like this face they are going to see it often. Just call me Cousin Pete. The owner was super nice and the cook gets a 10/10. If you want great food come here ASAP.

2022-04-03Loveeeee this place. Everyone is always so nice. Vegetable dumplings were so good I mistook them for meat and had to call to check. Have been ordering them regularly ever since then. I am super impressed with their shrimp fried rice. Unlike some places, the shrimp are impeccable, no veins or refuse, just delicious shrimp and seasoned rice that is smooth and never greasy. I have eaten here before I stopped eating meat, and the meat dishes are also amazing and the value is as well. I have not had any issues with my food, and it is one place I do not have to worry about cleanliness or hygiene as I would trust their food as well as anything from my own kitchen. You will enjoy.

2022-05-19It was pretty good. Friendly service and the food was tasty. The portions were appropriate for the price. I paid about $9 for a sizable portion of food. It took about 7-9 minutes from the time of order to the time we received our food. The restaurant was clean and felt inviting. Its also in a safe area of town.

2021-05-22The Korea House restaurant is a nice get away from the fast life. The 4 different types of kimchi were pretty good. I loved the cucumber and the cabbage the best. The other 2 will definitely have to grow on me. I got the Korean short rib meal and my son got the chicken. He loved his meal as did I. They are open for dine in, but they put everything in to go boxes. The fried Mandu was super good. I got the meat instead of the vegetable choice... Amazing please try this restaurant out, its very inexpensive.

2022-05-22We eat here at least once a week and have for about 7 years now, give or take. Their food is always amazing, always affordable, and they always have amazing service. They’re one of the best local restaurants that Columbus has and I’ve never had a bad experience here.
