Definition of amazing! Every time! I love the lady who is always there. My 7 year old is SUPER picky, and loves the milkis drinks, fried rice and bulgogi. We always eat at this location, nice service & food. They even will cook in front of you! Little gem that no one would ever think about. Try this place out! Super fresh food.
Great comfort food and such a homey vibe! It is definitely a spot to go that isnt too loud or busy. This restaurant is a hidden gem among the hundreds of restaurants here in Columbus. I ordered the Bibimbap and the food came out very fast. The food tasted great and came with miso soup...I usually do not like miso soup but this one tasted amazing. Service is also exceptional...staff is very nice and friendly. At the end of the meal, they brought us a cup of cold brew tea that had hints of ginger and cinnamon to help our full bellies feel less bloated. We didnt order it and it was very unexpected, which made it feel like I was eating at grandmas...very nostalgic. The tea was definitely the cherry on top of a perfect meal!
I have been working at Koreana Restaurant for more than 6 years, we always keep clean, and always check and changed all food everyday,it is very sad that I heard Mr. Lu complained about our food, we appologize for inconvenient caused, we gave you another soup but you reject them with bad attitude, we sure that the soup fresh, the fact that you finish your meal, wish in the future to welcoming and serve you and your family.
A lot is wrong with this place. The vibe here is strange. When you sit down, this place just doesnt feel right. After we ordered, they didnt serve us the vegetable appetizers. When they did it was too late, we were leaving.Rice isnt included when we ordered the pork cutlet. There is a cost. However it isnt on the menu. Waiter didnt inform us, instead asked if we wanted 5 bowls of rice for my family. I said just one. When our food came they brought 4 bowls rice. Had no idea why. When we were paying, 4 rice were charged at $1.95 each. I argued but she said we touched them already. Took them off our bill, however you better tip them enough. Cos she came out, chased and shouted at us and our young kids to give them enough tip. Poor service and attitude at this place. Patronize at your peril.
Won’t recommend going forward. The food is absolutely amazing (bulgogi, kimchi, dumplings), but they always seem short staffed and have poor service. Usually they only have one or two servers for the entire restaurant. When I eat there, I frequently feel ignored or never get drink refills. So I thought I solved the order by placing pickup. I got there to pickup my order today, and the woman working forgot to even put it in. Rather than offer me a discount, she said she would put it in then and I could wait for my food. My issue was not resolved. I took my business elsewhere. Please hire more people, because obviously your business is suffering from being understaffed. There’s too many excellent & service-oriented restaurants in the area for me to return. I understand this pandemic is hard on businesses, but I’m sad there is such a lack of good service.
Yummy food. I have tried Q Korean restaurant a couple times and we love the endless food but the flavor here is so good. It’s better in taste to me and the prices are good as well. The people who work there make me feel like they really care about the food they put out there.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed my food. And the server is super kind. The only reason for 4 stars is I dont care for the location and building itself. It has a just fixer upper just opened for business vibe and theyve been there quite some time. But that food is amazing!
As close as you can get to a Korean barbeque overseas! This place is hands down amazing! Aside from their meat and large variety of sides that come with it, their steamed dumplings and various soups (kimchi soup is my favorite) are worth a try as well. Fun fact! Once youre done with your whole meal, they offer a delicious ginger/cinnamon tea, say yes and give it a shot!
The most authentic Korean restaurant in Columbus. Ive been meaning to try out this place for awhile, but my brother isnt a fan of Asian food. Finally went there with one of my best friends and it was a great experience. Made sure to come back in the next month. The food was excellent, the staff was extremely friendly. I cant wait to visit this restaurant again!
Service was wonderful. We ordered the dumplings which were delicious. The bulgogi was cooked at the table and was seasoned perfectly. The spicy pork was just enough spice and incredibly tasty. I wish I could rate this place more than 5 stars. My husband, who served in Korea, was very impressed with the food! A must visit Korean restaurant in Columbus!
My daughter and I have eaten at Korean restaurants several places in town and enjoyed them all. This afternoon was the first time we have tried this one. Boy were we in for a treat. The ambience was quiet and peaceful. The waitress was very good and professional and helpful. She kept our tea glasses full. This is the best Korean restaurant I have ever been to. Try it and see for yourself. Youll see.
We made reservations as Friday night gets crowded. My center cut fillet was cooked perfectly and flavorful. The root vegetables and Brussel sprouts were excellent. Service was top notch and the setting was warm. Lastly, dont forget the cheesecake. Well worth the few extra calories.
I got one of the seafood Entrees, and it was delicious. I went a little later in the evening but the food qaulity didnt diminish and the wait staff were very good. I hope to see how they are when they are a little more busy, but I feel they do just as well then. 10/10 will visit again, hoping to try their BBQ table.
Great time at Koreana. Our group tried the at table Korean bbq for the first time. The staff was more than happy to help us through what up order, how much we would need, how to cook it, as some suggestions four serving. The food was delicious from start to finish. I eat regularly here for lunch and is always good, but if you are feeling adventurous, try the full bbq setup.
Bad choice for Korean food.Brought family to eat. Were seated after a few minutes.Place was a little busy, but not overwhelmed.Sat and waited 15 minutes. NO ORDER TAKEN. Waitress kept saying she would be right with us. No apology, no drinks, nothing. Just left us sitting. Not even side dishes, which those of us who have been to Korea know takes a minute. We left, went to another Korean restaurant and it was awesome!Dont waste your time and money here. Plenty of choices around town and well not go back!
Koreana has the most amazing food! The kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew) is the best we’ve ever had in the states by far! The bulgogi they bbq at the table is exceptionally good especially paired with their amazing ssamjang (spicy paste). All the sides are fresh and always delicious! Everything else we’ve ever tried has never disappointed as well.
We love Koreana! We have it at least once a week for lunch (very reasonable lunch box prices). We eat there for dinner 1 or 2 times each month. We recommend the Koreana for 2 when only 2 are eating or you can increase the number if there are more in your party. It isnt on the menu BUT it is so very good and you get several types of food so you feel like you arent settling for just one item!! Go and enjoy it is delicious!
Upon entering the building, we immediately noticed the temperature inside. It was hot & stuffy. We were then sat at a hot plate table, which wouldve only increased the temperature had we chosen to stay. We asked for them to turn the air conditioner on because there was no possible way that it was already on. They refused. So we left, took our business elsewhere, ate comfortably, and also were provided a childrens menu for our son, which this place didnt offer either. Hot establishment, but not in a good way.
Came for lunch and was disappointed. This was my first visit here too. Go to golden chopsticks or korea house. Way better service, menu, atmosphere, and prices at those places. Originally came to koreana for the bbq but the price was double what i pay for at 167° korean bbq in Auburn. Not only that but the bbq menu was only a few options. 167° Korean bbq has a very large selection to choose from...like over 20 different things versus the 5 or 6 options they have here at koreana. So i ordered just a lunch meal. I got a tiny (i mean really really tiny) bit of kimchi and bean sprout on my plate. No variety of endless pickled sides like i do at the other 3 places mentioned. Service was meh. The waitress was too busy to hear me ask any questions. She was the only one there but it was not busy at all. I think i saw 4 tables which includes my party of 1. On the other hand she quickly produced my check. I attempted a few times to get her attention then gave up. Took a bit longer than expected to get my meal or maybe it was the lack of pickled sides that usually helps pass the time i dunno. This placed really sucked for me and way overpriced. My first korean bbq experience was amazing at 167° so if you want a great experience make the drive. Youll be happy you did.
I found this place when I was looking for restaurants in Columbus. I liked the pictures of the food and the menu. When we came in, the service was great and the food was delicious. Our meals that we ordered (Dolsotbibbimbop) came with Miso soup and a variety of sides (kimchee, etc). The ginger cinnamon tea at the end of the meal was really good.
Every time I make a to go order the staff forgets to send it to the kitchen. Its rather annoying coming to pick up your food, then learning you have to wait another 30 minutes when they realize no one cooked it. Ive never been given a discount, a coupon or anything to make up for this.
My first visited to Koreans Restaurant in Columbus, Ga . It was awful experience with the bulgogi felt like it was dirty...there was some kind of grit on it. It was almost like they used corn starch, but neglected to dissolve it. The salad dressing tasted like yellow mustard. There was also a noodle side that I have always had served cold, this one was HOT. NASTY. The manager was very rude. She told us not to come back .
Came into Koreana to try their hot pot bibimbap and was not the least bit disappointed. Fresh ingredients perfectly julianned and cooked in a hot dolsot bowl with a good amount of marinated bulgogi beef and rice. Served up with homemade kimchi. Excellent! The spices in the red sauce/paste were also on target, balancing the right amount of flavor with just a hint of heat, and the pot was fired up enough to crisp up the rice the way it was meant to be served
Needed a couple of days away so drove to Columbus. Had a solid meal at Mabella. Even though we were half an hour early for our reservation, they cheerfully seated us right away. Good, fresh salads and charred garlic bread soon arrived. Nicely cooked ribeye with broccolini and shaved Brussels as sides. Wife had halibut. Found wines by the glass...
Disappointing. We ordered the Haemul Paejan (Seafood Pancake) and it was more flour and vegetables than seafood. All the seafood we experienced were pieces of shrimp. There was no cuttelfish, octopus, or any other seafood included. Additionally, it was done as an appetizer and not as a full meal. The place was okay, but could not even hope to hold a candle to any of the restaurants we experienced while stationed in South Korea.
Busyish Saturday night. Got sat at a grill table and no one came and took my drink order or even aconowledged us. Ive eaten here before and the food is good. I just didnt get to have any on this particular visit because after 20 minutes of waiting and no one speaking to my party or offering drinks we got up and left.
For all those whom enjoy Koreana thank you for all the postive feedback on behalf of the owners and staff. We try are best to bring good quality service. For those whom posted bad comments we thank you for trying Koreana yet you were dissatisfied. THANK you for your reviews!
I went here the first week they opened with all my roommates. She walked around the table and fed us Bulgogi one after another with her fingers. It was one of the more awkward moments of our lives but we enjoyed every minute of it and will never forget it. Thank you mama bird.

2022-03-01The food is amazing, definitely my favorite Korean restaurant in Columbus. The restaurant is clean, the atmosphere is calm and elegant and the staff is delightful.Even in the face of a loud, rude out of line (likely trying to dine and dash) customer who definitely DID make a scene, they handle themselves with grace.

2021-08-01My wife and I had been wanting to try korean bbq for a while now and tonight we did. When we arrived at the restraunt the outside isnt very inspiring and is in an old shopping center in columbus. Upon going inside we were immediately glad we did. It was very clean and the smells coming from the kitchen were heavenly. We were sat quickly and our server was super good to us. We ordered drinks and our food, fried dumplings, seasoned beef Bulgogi, a bibimbop bowl, rice and all the fixings to go with it. The staff was so welcoming and helpful to us and made us feel very welcomed. We cooked our meat and from the first sizzle of that meat until the last delicious bite we were captivated. We both left full and happy. The portions were large and so tasty and the pricing was very reasonable. I think our final bill was 48$. We will absolutely be back thank you Koreana for a great experience

2022-02-05Went there last night and went with the Korean BBQ with the bulgolgi and sliced beef, dumpling soup, and I forget what the spicy sliced pork meat dish was. The lady helped us cook the BBQ correctly. She was awesome and tentative. Everything was flavorful and delicious! I will be coming back.

2022-04-26This is an excellent, authentic, Korean cuisine restaurant. I ordered a delicious bibimbap in a hot stone pot with delicious side dishes included. It was so good so I had to order more food to take home! I love Korean food and this place is amazing!

2019-08-11Nice and cozy restaurant; not overly crowded for a Saturday night, extremely friendly staff, and the food was great too. We ordered the barbeque beef meal and the spicy pork; both came in nice size portions and with plenty of Korean style side dishes, Fresh lettuce, and white rice to complete the meal. Everything was tasty. Well worth the visit.

2022-03-01Moldy tofu and the absolute worst customer service. My wife was served miso soup from the large pot given to everyone. She noticed that the tofu in it looked exactly like blue cheese, a sign of mold or rot. When we brought this to the attention of the waitress, she tried to brush it off as green onion coloring. I knew she was bsing and tasted the tofu. It was disgusting and mushy. Ive never had tofu like that, and for what its worth, Im Asian and cook tofu all of the time. Her only response was to offer us another bowl of moldy tofu soup! I did not make a scene and asked for my check. She proceeded to ask me what race I was, and when I didnt respond, she called me a bad customer. The audacity to call me a bad customer when I paid full price for a meal with moldy tofu, I couldnt believe it. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. This restaurant is clearly highly rated because there is a lack of Korean restaurants in Columbus. Restaurants in Duluth blow this place out of the water in terms of selection, quality, service, and mold-free foods.

2019-01-24Bulgogi, Japchae, and steamed dumplings. Having been in Korea for two years I loved eating the local dishes. This place is about as close to the local dishes as your going to get. Some of the food is a bit high but you cant really find it anywhere else unless you have Korean friends make it for you. I will be going back again. You have to pay a bit higher for it but it is worth it for a little taste of Korea.Update: I have been going here for a year and it is still delicious as ever and great atmosphere!

2019-06-10Ambiance: The restaurant in located in an older strip mall that just looks tired. Inside the atmosphere was welcoming but somewhat out of place as large stainless steel ceiling vents cover a majority of the tables. Giving the place the feel of a Japanese Teppanyaki Grill Steak House verses a Korean restaurant.Service: Big marks here! Granted I was one of only a handful of patrons in the restaurant at the time of my meal. Even so our server was sooooo way on top of things that I never had a reason to ask for anything.Food: Came into Koreana to try their hot pot bibimbap and was not the least bit disappointed. Fresh ingredients perfectly julianned and cooked in a hot dolsot bowl with a good amount of marinated bulgogi beef and rice. Served up with homemade kimchi. Excellent! The spices in the red sauce/paste were also on target, balancing the right amount of flavor with just a hint of heat, and the pot was fired up enough to crisp up the rice the way it was meant to be served. I could go on and on but trust me if your a Dolsot Bibimbap lover youll be more than happy coming here.Something Special: After I finished my meal, my server brought out to me some Cinnamon Tea as a gift for desert. It was fantastic! It had a slight bit of sweetness with the right amount of spice to add both flavor and a bit of sting. I get sad just thinking about the very real possibility that I wont be able to find any place that serves tea like that when I get back home.Cleanliness: The place could use a fresh coat of paint and/or paper on its walls. At least to cover the chair scuff marks. There was also some dust on the ceiling air vent that was over my table, which is fair to say was the only high dust I could see in the place. Generally, everything was more than good. All the tables were freshly wiped down, the floors vacuumed and sweep. The bathroom was spotless. It also looked as if it had just been remodeled with fresh floor to ceiling tiles. The only glance I had into the kitchen happened while walking to the bathroom and that looked even cleaner than the rest of the place. Honestly, Koreana has been one of the cleanest restaurants Ive been to in Columbus.Overall: Food and service is fantastic Give this place a new set of digs and youve got yourself a 5 Star joint.
